Speaker 2 (00:24):
Hello and welcome to trout Talk here on SAGA nine
sixty am or wherever you're watching or listening to your
favorite podcasts. I'm Brendan Lang, Mikey k Mike Careful lead
us along with me, two of the broadcasters for the
Brampton Steelheads, and the Steelheads are at a busy time
in the schedule right now. Lots of stuff going on
around the OHL and we'll talk about what's coming up

(00:45):
for the steel Edds, what's gone on recently, because it's
a lot of positivity on the show today, Mikey, there's
going to be a lot of positive talk around this
Brampton steel Eds team. But before we get to that,
how have you been doing over the past week since
the last time we spoke on here?

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Oh? Good, lots of shoveling.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
We had we had another storm, right, so that was
nice and uh, you know, to touch on the neighbor
situation there, I guess from last episode, Well he didn't
shovel anything again and oh yeah, his driveway is still
his driveway is still full of snow and the sidewalk

(01:22):
was full, and so it's funny story. He's actually in
his truck and he's ready to go out, and everybody's out, like,
you know, I'm out there with.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
The snowblower and all that. Everybody's out there's snowblower shoving.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
So anyway, so he's in his truck and he's sitting
there and I think he's waiting. He's waiting for like
for somebody to come across the street kind of thing,
like you could tell, right, because to shove you know
where you know, when they come with the plow and
they rip it and they and they put it on
one side or the other, right, so it was on
his side, so everybody was doing their you know, it

(01:57):
was actually on both sides, but everybody was doing their
side of one. I like, I say, he's waiting struck
for somebody to do his side, you could.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Tell, right, So no nobody can.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Everybody just kind of just did their own thing.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
And he's just sitting there and I'm like, Fudy, come
on man like and and his sidewalks but his part
is just bad.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
His driveway, it's just what a mess.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
But anyways touch on that. So I guess my shoveling
thing didn't help them.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
So yeah, that's a that's a tough spot. It's funny actually,
after we talked about that the last episode, it made
me think because I was thinking more in like winter
months when you were asking me, you know, if any
of the neighbors around my house don't don't do their work,
So I was thinking more about the winter. But now
that I kind of thought about that, there is my

(02:49):
next door neighbor hasn't cut their grass in about I
don't know eight years what I cut their grass. I
cut their grass because we're like next to our neighbors, right,
so like I'm not gonna like leave a line there
and have their grass up to hear and our grass
be regular. But they've never acknowledged it at all. We

(03:11):
don't even know if anybody lives there. We see them
very rarely, so we don't really know what goes on
in that house. Little. Uh, that's a little bit of
some some information about our neighborhood around here. I forgot
about that because we were in the way. Oh yeah,
we do have a we got a situation too. Even
the the neighbor on the other side used to cut
their back lawn because it got so long and it

(03:32):
broke his lawnmode because the grass was so big.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
So yeah, we do have one of those in our
neighborhood as well, just at a different time of year.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Yeah, that's hilarious. That's funny. That's funny. You never checked
out that house or any means. It's like Condon or something.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Could be.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Remember nine Er in El Street the movie I've heard
of that, I've never seen it, but no, well, I
mean I won't go to that extreme.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Yeah, never know, never know. Yeah, maybe that's an exaggeration.
I don't know if it is, though it might. It
might be actually eight years anyways. Yeah, So it's been
you know, it's been busy the past the past couple
of weeks, like you said, with all the snow, all
the shoveling. But it's all going well, and it's all
going well, and Steelhead's world as well, because planned some

(04:28):
of if not the best hockey they've played all year,
and and you kind of knew this was going to
happen at some point. It was just a matter of time, right,
I mean, so many injuries at the beginning of the
year they get everybody back, it's going to take a
little bit of time to make sure everybody kind of
gets back in the groove of things, and they've obviously
done that here recently. So we'll talk about these past
two games, especially starting with the Niagara game in Brampton.

(04:53):
Steelheads win that one six nothing, and it was a
really big game coming into it as well, because you know,
Niagara's six points up on the Steelheads in the standings
going into that one. They had been struggling going into
the game there. Both of their goaltenders were out, so
you know, it was a game for the taking for
the Steelheads and they didn't take their foot off the
gas pedal once. It was a complete effort sixty minutes
from beginning dead.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
Yeah, they played really well that game, and know they're right,
from the beginning of the end, they just absolutely dominated
the nag Ice Dogs. They were able to throw line
after line after line after line out and Niagar just
didn't have an answer at all, and you could see
the struggles back on their defense. Of course, they were
missing Owen floor. As you know, they're big. I think

(05:36):
a big key to them even winning all these games, right,
I mean the guys just stopping everything in sight. But no,
still it's kept the pedal of the metal. Played really
really good in their own zone, really really good. And yeah,
it's just unbelievable. Just everybody was just on a different level.
And that's the way they've been playing lately. It's just
everything's pedal to the medal, right, and this is what

(05:58):
we expected. And I think this team right now is meshing.
And that's the thing, right, you know, don't forget. You know,
at one time this team had eight eight regulars out
of the lineup with injury or World juniors or whatnot.
Right now this team is pretty much back together. Just
a couple of injuries. One is going to be back
one another. One's going to be back for the playoffs.
I mean, car Marris will be back soon. Alaric'son will

(06:22):
be back for the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Right.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Uh, it's unfortunate what happened to alericson. Of course, you know,
we'll get into that later on. But yeah, they just
really really really dominated and everybody just seems like they're
coming together now. Full lineup, Uh, just yeah, that's it.
Just full lineups. That's the key to me, is a
full lineup and meshing, that's it.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
You're right, No, you're completely right. And again, it was
just such a long stretch of the season where they
didn't have a full lineup, they didn't have a full roster,
So to be able to get everybody back in there
obviously is a huge plus. And talking to the players
and the coaching staff as well, you know, the attention
to d tails has been really different. Has been a
huge difference from what was going on, you know, earlier,
even you know recently when they went through a little

(07:07):
bit of a tough stretch to now it's it's the
little things in the game that is that's completely transformed them.
And I know at the time of recording this, the
Doshwall Generals game that we'll talk about here in a
moment was yesterday. But saying on the broadcast, you know
that in practice and this is what James Richmond told us,
that they'd only been working on the defensive zone and
the neutral zone, like nothing going on in the offensive zone.

(07:29):
Like that's obviously the emphasis there.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Smart, smart, Right, why work on the offense when we
have the on when you got the offense, when you
know the offense is going to click? Right, The one
main thing that the Steelheards did, you know, struggle with
a little bit, was in their defensive zone. So why
Hutton's were of the defense and the offense you know
is going to come come to fruition, right and and uh,

(07:53):
it's paying off.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
It's paying off.

Speaker 4 (07:55):
And we'll talk about that game against the Austro Generals,
but boy or boyle boy against the neg Rice Dogs
that game, they were really good in their own zone.
And it's just getting better and better and better. So
interesting to see if they can keep it up, especially
with these games coming up.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Yeah, and then that's kind of what I said to
James Richmond too. It's like you wouldn't know that you
weren't working on offense because of all the goals that
they're showing. So it's like, I guess, like you said,
that's obviously the strong part of their game, so it
doesn't need as much work as maybe the defense has
needed at times. But now it's looking really solid. And
like you said, the defensive effort against the Ice Dogs

(08:35):
was huge. What did they have four shots in the
first period? I think it was nineteen to four Steelheads got.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Something like that.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
Yeah, they didn't get shot on goal, and I remember
looking up at the clock and it was maybe maybe
just at the ten minute mark around the area period around.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
There, shot on goal.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
Yeah, I'm just saying that, I mean, and yeah, and
then the final shots were like fifty to twenty one.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Or something or yeah, fifty twenty two was yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Twenty two.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
And how about breedon Gillespie as well, I mean getting
the shutout and yeah, I'd like what he did at
the end there, you know, brunning the net over and
you know, close for.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Business kind of thing and then boom, that's it.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
You know, So, yeah, that was pretty cool. I haven't
seen that in a long time. I was just like, yeah,
a statement statement from from Gillespie.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
I hadn't seen that in a long time either. No,
that was that was an interesting move. I love it,
like you said, the statement win at the end there
against the Ice Dogs. So we'll move on from that
one obviously, you know, Big we talked about the defense,
but Gillespie has been great recently. He's he's really kind
of moved into that role. He's played the past three
games and he's looked really really solid obviously, including that

(09:48):
shutout win, his third career shutouts, first with the Steelheads.
So great for him to step up at this time
because remember there was a long time in the season
where we were looking who's going to be the backup
where we can get saved from when when Jack koa
on the net. I think we have that answer now
with Gillespie's playing really well. So we'll move on to
that game yesterday against the Oshawa Generals. The Steel Ledgs

(10:09):
come out with the four to two wins, second time
they beat the Generals here in the past week, so
big statement went from them yesterday.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
Good statement went.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
I mean again, they just played so well defensively and
they capitalized in their chances. But a couple of guys
I was really, really, really impressed with in that game,
one guy being Carson Raykoff.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
He was flying on the ice. Oh my goodness.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
I mean it was like he was on a different level.
And you gotta like and you gotta like the way
what portermartone. He played well too. I mean, that whole
line played really really well.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Game.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
Scharott played well. There's a bunch of jack. Vin Wolsen
played well. He always plays well against Oshawa. It seems like,
you know his hometown team. When I interviewed on he says,
you know, fifteen minutes away, big smile in his face, and.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
He's like, yeah, you know, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
He said, you have that circle in your calendar on
he says, no, no, well yeah kind of kind of
of course you do, right, So anyways, but no, they
they really played well, really played a good two hundred
foot game. But I was gonna say, Porter Marton when
he got a hit by bit Ben Danford, you gotta
like how he he went off for one shift and
he came very back.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Out, you know what I mean. And that's the warrior
that Porter martonez, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
So he's not gonna stay down, He's gonna get back
up and he's gonna get back in there. Carson Raykoff
was really good, Angus macdono was good, Gabe Sharrott was good,
Karen Mkowski was good, Jack Van Vohlsen was good, Mason's
the best, He was good.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Luke Miso was good back on the back on defense,
the whole defense court.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
Finn Hardy was an absolute beast back there, and I
love that pairing of him and Stevie Leskovar together back
on defense. They tast they compliment each other really well,
you got the beast of Stevie Leskovar, and you got
the skill and and the hard work of Finn Harding
and his own.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
Zone as well. But you know, man, those two together
have been absolutely money.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
Yeah. I mean, like you said, I mean, there's just
so many as next to the game that the Steelits
have been have been rolling with here here recently. And
one of those names that you mentioned, Mason Zebeski, you know,
playing some of his best hockey of the season. He's
going to be coming up next here on trout Talks.
We're gonna take a break, We're gonna be back on
the other side. Thank you for coming along. You're listening

He's assistant captain forward Mason Zebeskie joining us on the show. Mason,
thanks for coming on. How are you doing today?

Speaker 5 (13:12):
How are you all doing well?

Speaker 2 (13:14):
You're right on top ahead.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
I like this man, you're right on time, five o'clock.
I mean, that's good.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
That's good stuff, right their punctuality, So scouts, if you're
looking at something right there, this guy's function, that's number one.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Thanks for coming on, Mason, appreciate.

Speaker 5 (13:29):
Thanks for having me.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
Yeah, thanks, thanks for being here. I think kind of
the best way to start this off is, you know,
we were just talking about it there, but you guys
have been playing your best hockey as of late. So
what's kind of been the difference for you guys here
in this recent stretch.

Speaker 6 (13:42):
Yeah, I mean, obviously we didn't have the best start,
and kind of midway through the season we were in
a little bit of a slump, and uh so we
kind of internally had a lot of a lot of
meetings and just kind of players on the meetings and
meets with the coaches, and we really wanted to crack
down on our details on and off the ice. And
obviously that stuff takes time, but you can kind of
see it starting to pay off now and our details

(14:03):
of it's just been so sharp, defensively, offensively, and just
like off off ice habits, everything just been kind of
rolling recently. So it's been a really good change for
us and we're really happy to keep it going.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
We talk about attention to detail.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
How about defensively, you guys have been playing absolutely phenomenal,
So talk about that.

Speaker 6 (14:21):
Yeah, I mean ever since everyone's been little playing hockey,
Like everyone always says defense wins championships, so he can't
he can't score without playing defense. So we're just one
thing we're really cracking down on as our d zone
and getting pucks outn kind of killing plays in the
corners before they can get scoring chances. And so we've
been taking full advantage of that and kind of giving
it to their teams. We've obviously had a lot of offense,

(14:43):
but it all came from our defense first.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
And you know, you talk about that. We were talking
to James Richmond yesterday and he was saying that pretty
much mostly recently in practice, has all been working on
the neutral zone defensive zone. So where do you kind
of balance that, like from film and in practice, I
mean just kind of looking at it, like how much
of it is on the ice work and how much
of it is looking at it sort of game film
and seeing what can be changed in that regard.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
Yeah, I mean a lot.

Speaker 6 (15:06):
It's a little bit of both, but a lot of
it's just your mentality like that kind of We talked
about it every day ever since I've been here day one.
It's always about desperation the D zone. So depending how
willing you are to kind of stop puks from getting
to your net, how how much you want the puck
to get out of your zone. I think that's also
a big factor. You can practice it as much as
you want, to watch as much as you want, but
if you don't want it, then it all leads to nothing.

(15:26):
So I think a lot of it's been on mentality,
and the coach has been preaching that for a while now,
and so it's really cool to see it clicking now
and how effectively been in the D zone.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
It's what I feel that this whole streak right now
is it started with that big ten to three win
against the Eerie odds.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
I feel that's when it started.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
You guys have just been playing at another level, but
I mean that's when I feel it started. I think
that's when you guys really got the confidence.

Speaker 6 (15:55):
Yeah, I think forward, Yeah, since that game, we've definitely
gelled even tighter. We were always a tight group. I
think we gelled as a team on the ice a
lot tighter, and a lot of it's just playing for
each other and wanting to win for each other, because
it's getting down to the nitty gritty stuff for the
season where it's only fourteen or so games left and
we're trying to get as many points as we can
for playoffs, so everything we're getting as desperate as we

(16:17):
can and as we want it really bad. So I
think that kind of turning point was a really good
step in the right direction for us, and now we're
kind of just taking off.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Can you talk about there, like the gelling of the
team and how close you guys are. You've been playing
you all up and down the lineup this year, from
the first line, second one, third line, fourth line. How
do you go about that, you know, playing with different
players so often and still kind of still trying to
find that chemistry on the ice.

Speaker 6 (16:40):
Yeah, I think the main part of it is just
playing your game like we have. We have eighteen different
players or twenty three different players. I can play a
certain style and so I think the key to it
is just playing your way and you'll find someone to
play with no matter no matter what the game is
or anything like that. So I think just everyone playing
their to their identity. And that's one thing that I
kind of figured out recently and it's and helping me

(17:00):
in my favor.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
Yeah, you've been playing on a line of course with Lukenisa,
and you guys have been absolutely clicking out there. I
mean you were flying. You've been flying. I mean you've
been flying like Speedy Gonzalez back and forth.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
I don't know if you know. Speedy Gonzalez is that mouse,
little Mexican mouse under and right. That's been you lately. Man.
So you guys have been clicking, So talk about that.
What's been working for you guys?

Speaker 6 (17:23):
Yeah, I mean, obviously we've been playing with each other
for the last like fourteen or so years, so if
we always have that chemistry, and so to be playing
with him again recently has been really really fun to
kind of click with him. We clicked a lot last
year as well, and we were super successful last year,
and so to be back with him this year, it's
really fun. But yeah, I think we've just been compliment
each other really well. We're both pretty speedy guys. I

(17:44):
play a heavier kind of style, so it compliments his
kind of skill and finesse, and so it's easy for
us to make plays with each other and kind of
create opportunities down low in the ozone.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
And like you said, I mean, you spent a long
time playing with Luke Nisa and there's a ton of
guys around the OHL. And yesterday playing against cal Richie
Nick Lartis, you know another name that you played with
quite a bit. How cool was that just to kind
of play against those guys that you kind of grew
up playing with.

Speaker 5 (18:08):
Yeah, it's it's it's honest.

Speaker 6 (18:09):
It's awesome to see how far they've gone as well,
all being drafted pretty high and signing contracts as well,
and so it's it's really cool to see how how
far our minor hockey team went into the OHL NHL.

Speaker 5 (18:20):
But yeah, it's cool, cool because we we're like, we're
all best friends.

Speaker 6 (18:24):
So in the summer, we're golfing with each other, we're
hanging out, and then during the year we want to
rip each other's faces off. And Christmas break where we
see each other for a couple of days and then
the next day we're back at each other, in each
other's faces, giving it to each other.

Speaker 5 (18:36):
So yeah, it's pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
So you guys are just back to business.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
You guys are like the road Runner and that that
sheep dog chin ching and then they fight and then
chin ching, and then they're best friends and all that
kind of stuff. Oh, hello Ralph, hello whatever, and then
chin chin all right, then he starts to try to steal.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
The ship anyway. That cartoon, great cartoon, ma. So you've
been working on your tip drive lately or something. I mean, yeah,
that was a great, beautiful tip goals, man.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
And then I've seen it, and I've seen it in
warm up and in pregame skates and on the road
and stuff like that. You're always the one that's always,
you know, trying to tip the tip tip tip. It's
all coming to fruition. It's all coming into play right
now for you.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
Huh yeah.

Speaker 6 (19:16):
I mean that's that's part of my game, is just
being around the net and kind of scoring those gritty goals.
So I always take five or ten minutes after practice
and just work with some of the d on tips
and just being in front of the net. And so
it's honestly it's for me. It's a good skill to
have and something that I can keep growing with and
it's unfortunate it's been paying off. But yeah, I love
working on that stuff and just stuff that kind of

(19:39):
like sets me, uh, sets me away from everyone else,
and just doing the extra work to make me a
little bit better.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
And you said that it took you a little bit
into the season to you know, really recognize that you
need to play to your strengths and play your game.
What is that like, what is that sort of revelation
that you had that you needed to be doing more
of to put yourself in a better spot.

Speaker 5 (19:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (19:58):
So at the start of the obviously battling the two
concussions and so that was kind of hard to deal with.
But I think I just something always felt off of
my game. I just I felt like I was playing okay,
but I felt like it's never great or good during games,
and so kind of that week week or two going
into Christmas, and then after the break, I just thought
I kind of ripped my game up a little bit
and I just started playing heavier on the fore check, faster,

(20:21):
just getting to the net more.

Speaker 5 (20:23):
And obviously it paid off on the score sheet.

Speaker 6 (20:26):
But just just all we were like as a team,
we're producing more, we're winning more games, and so I
think the better I play, the better the team can
also play.

Speaker 4 (20:34):
Now you're playing, especially okay, let's talk about last night
for example.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
You know, you see all those scouts. I mean there
was a ton of scouts there.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
Last name, I mean, Danny Breer was there last night,
just for example, Keith Jones was there for example.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
There were tons.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
So does that kind of stuff when you see that,
does it pump you up big time to even like
step up your game a little bit more kind of.

Speaker 6 (20:55):
Thing to be honest, Like big crowd are small crowd
as far as scouts go, Like that was a game
that we needed to win no matter what, Like we
we I could like anyone on our day, it could
have been a one nothing game and our whole team
would have been ju stuff like that was that was
a big game for us in the standings and just
kind of that confidence beating a top Oshawa team like
a game like that, just that's like that's a playoff game.

(21:16):
They were like like it was a very back and
forth kind of chippy game, like it was like anyone's
mistake and it was a goal again, so we were
we were just so like stress on the bench trying
to win that game, and we're all focused on that.

Speaker 5 (21:26):
It was so exciting for us at the end.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
I bet oh man, it was very exciting.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
I mean, I mean I was sitting there and I
was just like, oh my, Like my stomach was turning,
just for example, Like it's just like, oh my god,
oh my gosh, if someone's gonna if someone makes a mistake.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
I was thinking the same thing. One mistake is going
to lose this game. But you guys didn't. You guys
didn't do it.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
So anyways, just that's such a that's such an interesting
point though, Like do you feel that too, Like when
you're not on the ice, like you'd be more nervous
about things Like when you're out there, I feel like
it's just like because you can affect the game, so
it's it would be a different sort of feeling than
if you're on the bencher or if you're not playing.

Speaker 6 (22:02):
I think honestly, with our team, like you can trust
anyone out on the ice, Like I don't think we
have that kind of stress level where you send someone
on the ice and you're like, oh no, like something
bad's gonna happen. I think anyone you put on the
ice for our team, it's something good's gonna happen. And
we all we all trust each other enough, so I
think it's just more so the fact of us winning
the game and come like we squeaked that one out
and it was really good for us.

Speaker 5 (22:21):
So that was a that was a good sixty minute
game for us.

Speaker 6 (22:23):
And so just stuff like that, like we trust everyone
on the ice and we're we're working as hard as
we can to win.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
I would say, I mean, you guys really really been
pumping it up, and not just not just gast to Oshawa,
but I mean against Kingston, against Eerie, some really really
high end top teams, and I mean that's just that's
just something that's unbelievable. But uh, you know, and now
looking forward to the games ahead, I want to talk
to you about London.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
I want to talk to you about London. How pumped
up are you guys to play against the London Knights.

Speaker 6 (22:56):
Yeah, it's obviously it's a privilege to play and in
the arena, so we kind of got to take full
avantage of that and soak it all in. But it's
a big game for us, like just to kind of
set things straight in the Eastern Conference and show show
teams that we mean business and beat a top team
like London.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
That'll mean a lot for us in the Eastern Conference.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
What a great answer that was. I love I love it.
Just you know that we got something to prove. It's
like you guys got.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
Something to prove, right, Yeah, because we honestly, to be honest,
we did leave. We kind of like we didn't do
as as good as we thought in the first half
of the season. So we want teams to kind of
to be scared of us. We're a little bit of
a dark course right now, but we want to put
fright into the other team.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
And do you ever think about like the standings you
look at that at all? I mean, like home ice
going into the playoff or is it more so just
about just trying to get everything in line and play
your best hockey going into the end of the year.

Speaker 6 (23:48):
I mean, honestly, we're just trying to collect as many
points as we can. Nothing like, no matter what you
look at, what you think you need, you need to
win anyway. So we're just looking game by game trying
to win, win, as many games as we can and
then try to keep that going through playoffs, going a
big run.

Speaker 4 (24:02):
Okay, I'm gonna ask you this because this is kind
of I always wanted to know this. When you guys
are playing soccer around, keep up who's the best at it?
I know you'll give the most straight up answer. That's
why I'm asking here.

Speaker 5 (24:14):
I'm gonna say me, Okay, you can't.

Speaker 6 (24:19):
Yeah, if anyone else is on this call, i'd probably
get flamed for that answer, but definitely definitely me whether
they like.

Speaker 5 (24:26):
It or not.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
So you're saying, if we ask somebody else, they're not
going to give that answer.

Speaker 5 (24:30):
No, they all. They all hate the way I play.
I do all the trick shots and I'm fun. Oh
I love it.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
I love it. I've seen Jack in there. Jack's pretty good,
huh with his like that?

Speaker 5 (24:42):
My goodness, Van Volsa.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
Not Kobe, I guys have Maybe I saw Kobe do
something pretty well one time. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
I just I tried not to look at you guys,
and you guys are doing it because I don't want
to jinx it or anything.

Speaker 5 (24:56):
So I just gotta keep watchbe is a cheater. He
doesn't get A, that's awesome.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
So sorry, go ahead, no, go ahead, going might go ahead,
go ahead and go ahead, okay, I'll go ahead. So
with with of course, you know quite a few new players,
obviously Ray Coff coming over in the off season, Sofa
coming over in the off season, and then you bring
in Connor Smith, all Ricks and Gillaspie at the deadline.
You know, you as part of the leadership group, how
do you kind of go about, you know, welcoming everyone

(25:24):
in and kind of making sure that they're part of
the cohesive unit.

Speaker 6 (25:27):
Yeah, I mean just immediately like hanging out with them
and as a team like that's kind of a big
part of the off ice bonding is just inviting guys
for dinner and just hanging out watching hockey games at night.
It's always kind of like just gelling with the squad.
It's easy because those guys are obviously older, like they're
all the same age group as us, so it's easy
to kind of click with them. And we also knew
these guys prior, Like Rakeoff, a lot of the guys

(25:49):
knew prior to and I skated with him and hung
out with them all summer. Gilespie was one of my
goalies in Oakville, right, So, like we kind of knew
all these guys prior to it, and me and Schmiddi
we fought last year, so we had that to kind
of bond over. But yeah, so it's it's pretty easy
to welcome welcome guys like that, especially when you know

(26:09):
the kind of the leadership and the skill they bring
to the team and how important they are to this run.
You you really want to be able to gel with
them and kind of use them to their fullest.

Speaker 4 (26:18):
Now, the Northern road trips coming up, right, and I
mean that's probably one of the toughest road trips.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
Of the year. We all know that.

Speaker 4 (26:24):
Now, you being an older guy and the team, uh,
you know how to adjust these to these northern road trips?
How do you how do you teach young guys how
to adjust to these nor to this northern road trip
which we know once you get back home it's plumb sheets,
that's what I call it.

Speaker 6 (26:41):
So yeah, I mean big, the big part of it,
just kind of handling your body day by day, make
sure you're getting the right sleep, stretching, doing all that
kind of stuff. Make sure you're doing your your the
right one ups before the games, So it's to three
and four I think it is, So you got to
really take advantage of that day off and kind of
try to recover, make sure you're eating the right things,
and but yeah, sleep's a big part of it because

(27:01):
you're on the bus for so long, so you really
you really want to catch your sleep in the hotels
and make sure make sure you're getting the right amount
of sleep and just being ready for the next game.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
Right to Saint Bree is going to be a doozy,
my friend, so get ready for it.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
And then this past offseason, you had a chance to
go to the development camp with the Minnesota Wild What
was the what was the experience like there?

Speaker 6 (27:22):
Yeah, that was amazing, So I was. I was lucky
to go with Stevie, So it was made a lot
more comfortable for me. I wasn't too worried about kind
of finding guys to talk to and just worrying more
about that. So it made it a lot easier for
me to focus on the actual hockey part of it
and just kind of grasping all, like all the information
there in that professional environment. It was just awesome to
see like the pro guys skating and working out and

(27:43):
just all their development guys and kind of to see
like their paths that they had taken and stuff like that.
So it was really cool to kind of just like
soaking all that knowledge and information and just use that
to kind of better my game and the off season
as well.

Speaker 5 (27:55):
Yeah, it was really fun. The rookie tournament.

Speaker 6 (27:56):
It was awesome, like really really fast paced, so souper
super fun, really good experience for.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
Me who was the first, who was the first Minnesota
wild player to say hey, welcome kid kind of thing.

Speaker 6 (28:11):
We didn't we didn't seem any of the any of
the actual players like in person. We kind of just
watched them on the ice skating and stuff like that.
But it was cool to see them all like wheeling
around and how how big and fast they were.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Wow, that's awesome.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
Last thing here before we before we let you go.
I know when this airs, it will already have happened.
But Canada and the US plays or nations?

Speaker 3 (28:32):
Are you.

Speaker 4 (28:34):
Are you?

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Are you really have you been into that? Are you watching?
What's it? What's it looking like?

Speaker 3 (28:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (28:38):
I mean we've been like super unlucky. We've played every
single night that they've played. But we kind of watched
the tail end of the Canada US game and the
Sweden the Sweden Canada game as well.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
It's honestly like that.

Speaker 6 (28:50):
It's been super super hype and just really cool for
the sport to kind of have that instead of the
all start break.

Speaker 5 (28:57):
But yeah, hopefully Canada can kind of pump them to night.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
I don't think I've ever been I don't think I've
ever been so pumped up for a Canada US A
game like I have, like that I am right now
because because of some circumstances.

Speaker 6 (29:10):
But anyway, yeah, yeah, this is the biggest, biggest international
game in probably a decade.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
For sure.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
Yeah, yeah, no, really really looking forward to that. Wait, yeah,
it's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
You heard it here.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
Yeah, we're gonna pump him in Boston right in front
of all the Boston people.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Whatever. That's it. And then when they when we win,
I want to see the net down like Leslie does.
That's right. And if it was me playing, I'd be
like this to the crowd, just be like this, walk around,
just going like this. Nope, well we.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Hope that we'll all get the win for sure. We'll
be watching tonight. Mason. Thank you so much for coming
on really do appreciate it. Good luck the rest of
the way and we will We'll see you around the
rick Man, thanks for coming.

Speaker 5 (29:53):
On, Thanks for coming on, guys, Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
All Right, that was Mason's Baski Year four for the
Brampton Steelheads. We'll be back on the other side to
wrap that up talk about what the Steelers have coming
up here in the next few weeks as well. So
thank you for coming along. You're listening to trout Talk.
You're on Saga nine sixty AM.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Stream us live at Saga nine sixty am dot c a.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
Hey, welcome back to trout Talk on Saga nine sixty am.
I'm Brendan Lang here along with Mikey k Mike Careelitis.
Once again, thank you so much for coming along. That
was Mason Zebski on the show. Mikey. He's been here,
you know, for a while, and it's pretty interesting to
be able to now that I've and you have as well,
been around the team for a few years to kind
of see the players grow up and kind of grow

(31:10):
into the into the players and the people that they
are now. So it's awesome to see that and great
to talk to Mason there.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
I think you know, he's playing to his identity right now,
and that's been the key for him. His identity is grinding, grinding,
using his speed, going hard to the net, finishing his checks, being.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
That guy, being you know, being that past.

Speaker 4 (31:34):
I guess you could say too, write this like you
know kind of thing and you know, awesome, great tip
drill as well.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
I mean, he's been really really doing well with that.

Speaker 4 (31:42):
But yeah, he's been really playing to his identity and
and uh yeah, and he's just got to keep that up,
just playing to his identity.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
And he's a pro. He's a pro. I mean, it's
so good that he went to that. So he went
to NHL camp.

Speaker 4 (31:56):
With the Minnesota Wild to learn what he learned over
there and whatnot and bring back over here and this
good day he want with Stevie Lestovar. But he's a
pro to the way he talks Awaken Ducks himself. He
comes from a good family. Another thing too, he comes
from a good family. His mom and dad and talked
to him, talked to his dad many times. Very nice people.
So you could tell he's he's going to be something.

(32:20):
I really hope he gets drafted, I really do or something.
He gets a free agent contract somewhere.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
Yeah, I mean that that would be awesome, and I
mean the way that he's playing right now is definitely
deserving of That's he's been, you know, one of the
better players on the ice, like every time he's out there,
regardless of who they're playing. You talk about there kind
of being like the agitator, being physical. There was one
play I actually wanted to mention it to him, but
I forgot. It was against the Ice Dogs when I

(32:47):
think it was lucky. He went into the net and Humphreys,
their goalie, was standing over top Sidlicky, and he just
reached out and knocked his mask on. Stop laughing at them, though.

Speaker 4 (33:01):
That's what we're talking about, right, That's that's the kind
of player he is, and he sticks up for his
teammates and stuff, and he's always there. He's always that
guy that's going to stick up for his teammates all
the time. And they're all like that, not just not
just mates as of Ascue, but they're all like that.
I told, oh my gosh, I hate when I draw.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
A blank, and I had a great point to make
that you know, sometimes you draw a huge blank.

Speaker 4 (33:25):
What was I gonna say, oh, my goodness, I feel
like I'm not old or anything, but I just what
happened there.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Anyway, it'll come to me. But no, it's just oh okay, now,
I know.

Speaker 4 (33:39):
But when he was talking about, you know, heam's been
looking and this is what I was. I've been talking
about too. And it's funny how he says it seems
to kind of look at them as the underdog, right,
And I like how he said, he said, you know
what we're showing the guys that we're showing the teams
now that we're the team that we're that was said
to do what we're supposed to do right at the

(34:00):
beginning of the season. Now the tables are turning, this
team is playing at a high level, and he's saying
and he's saying, look, we got something to proof.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
I like that that's right. And I also like, kind
of on the same line of what you were saying,
is that it's not really about you know, where the
position in the standings is. They didn't get off to
a great start this year. There's nothing you can do
about that. So he just got to try to get
as many points as possible, and you got to work
through it and you just got to finish the year
strong and obviously they're on the right track to doing that.

(34:30):
So you can tell that there's a great mentality and
I know we say this quite often, but you can
also see why he was entrusted as being a leader
on this team given an assistant captain at the beginning
of the year. Again, he's grown up with the franchise.
He knows the ins and outs of it and comes
to work every day, plays hard, and you can tell
that he's a leader off the ice as well. So

(34:52):
great to have him on the show and we definitely
hope for continued success for him and the Steelheads here
going forward. Because we got a few big games coming
up here. We can quickly touch on the on the
London game. Again, it'll have happened by the time this
comes out, so maybe you can just kind of give
a quick overview of London and Sudbury. We can just
maybe do the two together because they're both both really

(35:13):
big games, one of them being a measuring stick against
probably the best team in the ohl and the other
one against the Sudbury team that's close with them in
the standings.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
Yeah, number one team, right, number one rank to the
chl right now, London Nights. What do you say, Eastern Cowen, Dickinson,
Bok Barkie's caped Barkie, Montgomery, Van Gore, van Gorp. Then
they have another van, they have two vans. Yeah, they

(35:41):
Van bommelomb Van Bombo Van Gorp.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Medvedev has been good.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
But Elliott they got it Elliott too, Austin Elliott. They
got a really really good team and they just continue
to win year after year. The coaching is always good,
Dale Hunter. I mean then they know what they're they build.
They build championships every year. Right, So, but measuring stick game,
as you said, I think it's going to be a
close game.

Speaker 3 (36:09):
I really do. I think it's gonna be a close game,
a close battle.

Speaker 4 (36:11):
And I think if the Steelheads can get on their
defense a lot and get that and maybe cause some
turnovers and capitalize on them and use their speed, I
think that if they're able to the Steelers are able
to get that pucked out, concentrate attention to details, as

(36:32):
we say, with the defense. So if they can play
really good defensively in their own zone, get the puck
out of there with good outlet passes and use their speed.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
To come up with a victory there.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
Yeah, no, you're completely right, and it's like, you know,
kind of the biggest thing that I saw with you
got to be physical one hundred percent. I think that's
an identity that the Steelers have to have here going forward.
But one thing that stood out to me against the
Oshawa game that I think is similar. So you have
to do against London because like Oshawa, they have so
much firepower upfront. You have to take away their time

(37:07):
and space. And I thought the steel Its did that
really well yesterday, or at least I should say when
they played the Generals on Wednesday this past week. Is
that Seneca. Yeah, he made that great pass to to Motto.
They scored that goal, But other than that, didn't really
have a lot of time to make plays. Ritchie didn't
have a ton of time, Barlow didn't really have a
lot of time. Morelli on the back end, who's had
a really great season, didn't have a ton of time

(37:28):
to make plays. So I just think that's something you
have to do against the London Knights as well, because
of all the skill that they have. Just take away
their time and space, take away that area on the
ice where kind of you know, you got to play
it like it's a playoff game. Just make them fight
for every inch of the ice. And I think that's
how they're going to be successful, not only in the
London game, but against against the Sudbury Wolves as well.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
Yeah, exactly, you nailed it right there. I mean we
talked about it yesterday too.

Speaker 4 (37:53):
You get Seneca like two yards two meters, he's going
to burn you, and they were right on. They're right
on him, right on Richie, right on Barlow.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
They couldn't do a thing. They couldn't do a thing, really,
let's be real.

Speaker 4 (38:05):
I mean Seneca, yeah he had a post. Other than that,
that's about it. So against the Subury Wolves, yeah, they
got to play the same way. We know Subury is
going to come out physical and they always do against
against the Steelheads.

Speaker 3 (38:19):
So the steel Heads have.

Speaker 4 (38:20):
To just withstand that physicality and I think get lots
and get lots of shots on goal on on Crawchuck
and and you gotta you gotta get screens on this
guy too, right, he's a pretty good goal He's same thing.
I gonna say the same thing about London too, about Elliott.
You gotta get screens on these guys.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
So but do hard games one on home, went on
the road back to back. We'll see what happens. It's
gonna be it's gonna be good. It's gonna be good
hockey because it is really good hockey.

Speaker 4 (38:49):
Lots of talent, lots of talent on displayed ladies and gentlemen,
lots of talent, and.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
It will it will be two great games for sure.
And then so we'll talk more about the Northern road
trip here because after this airs, they're gonna be going
up North First. They're going to be playing the North
Bay Battalion. Yeah right, They're gonna be going to North
Bay on Thursday and then susse Marie on Friday. And
then we'll talk about the Sunday game on the next
episode because that will air right before that game. But

(39:16):
North Bay, they've had some struggles with North Bay this year.
North Bay is a tough team to play against. You know,
I really do think North Bay is a really underrated team.
I think they've got a lot of young talent on
that roster that they'll be good for years to come.
And they kind of remind me of the Steelheads from
you know, a couple of years back, where it was
like they're really young and they're not expected to do anything,
but they just play so hard every game that you

(39:38):
can't take any shift off.

Speaker 4 (39:40):
Yeah, hardworking team, hardworking team, and that's how they beat
the Steelheads the last couple of times.

Speaker 5 (39:45):
They'll work them all right.

Speaker 3 (39:46):
Well, last time it was Jack Listen.

Speaker 4 (39:48):
They got a really good goaltender Jack listened to and
Mike McIver they got a pretty good one.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
Two punts over there.

Speaker 4 (39:53):
They're young, they're young, but they work hard. They're well coached,
and that's how they're winning games right now. Really have
that one player that stands out to you, the only
player to me that really stands out to me from
North Bay's procession.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
Procession, Yeah, Moses has had a good.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
Applies well against the steel has that's another one. But
that's that's the only two that that pop out to
me in North Bay. Otherwise they're just they're just a
hard working team. And you're right, it's funny how because
there that's the way the Steelheads were before.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
That young team.

Speaker 4 (40:25):
They're just a hard working team. Didn't really have anybody
that stood out, but everybody worked hard together and they
worked hard as a team.

Speaker 3 (40:31):
So and they're well coached Ryan Ryan Uh. Ryan Ulahan
is a great coach.

Speaker 4 (40:37):
And especially for the young guys, that's one guy you'd like,
that's one guy you want to have buying the bench.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
Yeah, for sure. Like you said, it's there's really a
lot of aspects of the game. And you know, it's
funny because the steel Heads played North Bay in that
in that uh in that playoffs, and now it's kind
of flipped. It's almost the exact opposite where the steel
has got the older guys and and all that.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
So it's remember that.

Speaker 2 (40:58):
Yeah, of course we all we all do remember that,
So it'll be a good game.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
I haven't seen our friend down yeah, I know.

Speaker 2 (41:05):
I kind of miss seeing him. But anyways, I know
he said he is not coming. He's not coming on
the road anymore. So maybe you'll get to see him
down in North Bay. Who knows. But yeah, so it's's
gonna be a good game. Obviously, North Bay tough plays
to play too, Like like Mason was talking about there,
it's you got the bus. It's a long trip up there,
so that will definitely be a tough one for the Steelheads.

(41:27):
But the way they're playing right now, I really do
think that they can win any game. And then they
have Susain ma Ree after that second time that they're
going to face off, second and final time they're going
to face off with the Greyhounds. Uh this season, the
first one the Steelheads did end up winning. That game.
Got to take a look back. I can't remember the
score they did.

Speaker 3 (41:46):
It was.

Speaker 2 (41:47):
It was a high scoring game. It was let me
find that here.

Speaker 3 (41:51):
I want to say seven to five.

Speaker 2 (41:53):
It was eight to five. Good guests, great guests, right, Yeah,
a high scoring game though. I mean they got some
guys that can put the puck in the net, and
you know they made trade. Laalan just played well since
he's gone to since he's got to Susaint Marie. So
another tough game again with a long trip up there,
up north, that's.

Speaker 3 (42:13):
A long one.

Speaker 4 (42:13):
That's a long one because the steel EDGs will be
playing on the Thursday, and then right after going to
North Bay starts North Big go. Right after going up
excuse me to sue Saint Marie. It's another five hour
for five hours from I'm there, so it's soft and
then then you know, you get your hotel, you sleep
in your hotel and you get hydrated. For the players
of course and whatnot and get your rest. But yeah,

(42:35):
Sue Saint Marie, it's they're a tough team. They're they're
pesky too. You know, they got Mignosa, Marco Mignos over there.
They got Jacob Cluci, great little player.

Speaker 3 (42:44):
Love that.

Speaker 4 (42:45):
I actually one of my favorite players in that team.
Good goaltending, as you said. You know, they got Landon
Miller too. They got a good one two punch, you know,
picking up Lalande. At first, I was kind of a
little thinking to myself, why would they take that trade
for Shanko for lalan But anyway, but so yeah, it's
worked out for the Sue big time. Both teams, I guess, right,
so good for both teams. But anyways, yeah, so Brady

(43:08):
Martin as well, the two Brady Smith's now Brady T.
Smith and Brady R.

Speaker 3 (43:13):
Smith. I don't know, something like that, isn't it something
like that? Isn't it? Is it Brady Tear and Brady are?

Speaker 2 (43:19):
I can't know what it is. Anyways, I'm worried about that. Yeah,
that'll be. Yeah, you're calling that game, that'll be.

Speaker 4 (43:26):
Yet not worried, just got to be on top of things,
trying to say so here comes Brady T.

Speaker 3 (43:33):
Smith, the Brady R. Smith. What happens in Brady R.
Smith scores and Brady T. Smith. You know, all these
things go through your head, right, But I guess you
get used to it, you know, yeah, you get used
to it. No problem. You just look at the numbers.

Speaker 2 (43:45):
That's it, That's right. And I got confidence in you'll
figure that absolutely, Brady.

Speaker 4 (43:52):
Good young team. Another good young team. They traded away
some of their some of their pieces. They still got
to own the lard there, you know, the older guy.
They still got a Nord over there, another older guy
as well. Uh so, hey, you got to be ready
to especially going up north, especially going into their barnes.
These Northern teams, man, they play hard in their barns.

Speaker 5 (44:13):
Yes, they do.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
Definitely defend home ice very well. So they got that.
And then, as I mentioned, we'll be Sudbury again. It
seems like they play Sudbury every day. Ye Now, I mean, yeah,
they didn't play them at all for the first three
months of the season. Now we got to see them
all the time. But hey, that makes for good storylines,
it makes for good hockey. So definitely no complaining on

(44:34):
on our side. But yeah, it'll be a big couple
of games here coming up before this airs, and then
you know, after this, after this episode comes out on
Saga nine sixty, we'll have some Northern hockey coming up
with the with the Steelheads, and you know what, hopefully
we see Lucas Carmiers back in the lineup. I know
we mentioned that a little bit earlier on in the show. Uh,
James Richmond saying possibly even earlier, possibly this weekend. We'll see.

(44:57):
But he's ahead of schedule, so that's that's great news
for him. And then Wilmore al Rickson is a little
bit longer. He won't be back for I think the
four to six week timeline is still kind of where
he is. So that kind of brings you right to
the start of the playoffs. Yeah, so not as close
for him. But Carmier is a huge piece because he
was playing great when he got hurt.

Speaker 3 (45:16):
Yeah, and he was playing fantastic. He was just said
at the top of his game. And it's good that
you talked about.

Speaker 4 (45:21):
James Richmond, he said, you know, he stepped on the
ice already, he's skating around and whatnot.

Speaker 3 (45:26):
That's a huge sign. As Jr.

Speaker 4 (45:29):
Said, Hey, you know what, maybe he'll get into a
game this weekend, but for sure he'll be a go
to go in the Northern road trip.

Speaker 3 (45:35):
So that's huge. That's absolutely commungous. So that's back in
the lineup.

Speaker 2 (45:39):
That's massive. And one more thing before we get to life.
Tips wanted to throw in Luke Tragusika warmed up before
the game against Oshawa. Hasn't I think he's played only
two games this year, I want to say, and obviously
obviously really really tough season for him, dealing with that
lower body injury that he's had. So to get him,
you know, he said, James Richmond's saying, he's been on

(46:00):
the ice, he's been practicing, still trying to get his
strength back. But to see him out there warming up
Fiberger was actually a game time decisions where there was
a possibility, uh Drew Guska was going to get into
the lineup, but still probably a few few games away
from him, and the Steelings are really loaded up on
the defense side right now. But another guy, another name
that you throw in that hat that I mean, he
had a great rookie season and it really is unfortunate

(46:22):
what he's had to go through this year.

Speaker 3 (46:23):
Yeah, unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (46:24):
I mean, he did take the ice and stuff like that,
but what a good situation have, right, Yeah, but it's
still going to take I mean, and James Richard mentioned
it's it's gonna take a while for him to get
back into game mode and stuff, right, you know, he's yeah,
he's skating and stuff, but he's been.

Speaker 3 (46:37):
Out a long time.

Speaker 4 (46:39):
It's just like anyone else, not just saying like for
Luke Draguis, of course you're out. Any player is out
for that amount of time. It's gonna take a little bit,
a little bit to get back into the swing of things.
But good to see him back on the ice, that's
for sure.

Speaker 2 (46:51):
Yeah, one hundred percent great to see him back on
the ice. And again, lots of lots of hockey coming
up and hopefully, you know, the Steelers just continue to
get healthier and healthier as.

Speaker 3 (47:00):
We move along.

Speaker 2 (47:01):
All Right, A couple of minutes here, Mikey, what do
we have?

Speaker 3 (47:06):
Don'ty McDonald's it sucks?

Speaker 2 (47:07):
Oh wow, that's an interesting one.

Speaker 3 (47:11):
I am done with it. I don't know what it is.
The other night I had it, never again, never ever again.
I had what did I have? I had a quarter pod?
I just had a quarter pounder with cheese.

Speaker 2 (47:25):
Right, well, that's my favorite go to.

Speaker 3 (47:26):
There you go. Yeah, but I don't know what it was.

Speaker 4 (47:29):
It was something in my stomach after that boy, and
I wasn't feeling well, but I was, you know whatever,
But after I felt better.

Speaker 3 (47:37):
But if you go to McDonald's, I don't know, don't
eat it too much.

Speaker 2 (47:43):
There you go, for sure, don't don't eat it too much.

Speaker 3 (47:46):
But I didn't think to sit well and uh and
and Mikey's stomach there.

Speaker 2 (47:50):
So yeah, definitely about it. Yeah, I would definitely agree
with DONI too much. You know, usually the only time
I eight McDonald's.

Speaker 3 (47:57):
Is very late after hockey.

Speaker 2 (48:01):
Yeah yeah, so uh yeah, that's really the only time
that I ever dive into one, and usually it's it's
pretty good.

Speaker 3 (48:09):
At that time.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
But yeah, but you know, next day though, Yeah, that's true.
You know what, I probably you know what it's. I
haven't had any like crazy scenarios that I could think of,
but I gotta pay attention next time. Next time I
have a late night McDonald to eat, I'll have to
really think about how I feel the next morning. So

(48:30):
it's a good it's a good life tip though, don't
eat it too often. It's a treat. It's a treat.
You're gonna have it.

Speaker 3 (48:35):
Check your pop.

Speaker 4 (48:37):
Yes, I got a diet coke and I didn't take
a sip and it was flat m M and I
and I took it to night.

Speaker 3 (48:45):
Disgusting. Oh my goodness. It's not like going back, but
I'm not trying to back. I just dumped it out
whatever water, But.

Speaker 2 (48:51):
My god, yeah, yeah, change it.

Speaker 3 (48:55):
McDonald's an employee. Change it. What's the matter with you people?
I'm just saying.

Speaker 2 (48:59):
In high school, I a friend who worked at McDonald's,
the one by my house, and when he went to
change the pop, flies came out of the pop machine.
So yeah, I'm kind of off McDonald's fountain tricks not
a not a yeah. Yeah so that was a tough scene.

Speaker 5 (49:20):
That was a tough scene.

Speaker 2 (49:21):
But anyways, anyways, anyways, yes to check your pop. I
like it all right, Mikey, thank you so much for
being here today. Thank you to Mason Szebski for coming
on the show. Chat and Steelheads chatting what's going on
with them here recently. It's it's all been great news,
so hopefully that continues. For Brendan Lang, that's my carevulitis.
Thank you so much for coming along and have a

(49:43):
great afternoon.
