Speaker 2 (00:24):
Hello and welcome to trout Talk here on Saga nine
sixty AM. I'm Brendan Lang along with mikey Ka Mike carefully,
it is two broadcasters for the Brampton Steelheads. Thank you
so much for coming along with us here on Saga
nine sixty am. Playoff edition of trout Talk. First playoff
edition here. Hopefully we get quite a few of these
going down going down the rest of the year, but

(00:45):
first playoff edition. We'll have our predictions a little bit
later on. We did our Eastern Conference predictions at the
intermission off the final game of the year against Kingston,
but we will do those again, and we will also
do the Western Conference, and of course we'll talk about
the series coming up with the Oshawa Generals. But before
we get into that, Mikey, have you been doing recently?

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Well?

Speaker 4 (01:04):
Yeah, I'm just getting over I mean, not to sound
like the violin you you've seen, I haven't been doing
well lately at all, so but yeah, no, this is
probably the best I've ever felt in about three three weeks,
so thank goodness.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Yeah, I don't know, I got this cold and whatnot.
But yeah, feeling good. That's about it.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
You know, been at the rink of course, and witnessed
a lot of steelhead rint winds at the rink, on
the road whatnot.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
So yeah, everything's good. Everything's good.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Well, that's good to hear. Good to hear that you're
feeling better.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
I know it's been Yeah, it's been a grind.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
It's been a grind the.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Past couple of weeks.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
But yeah, definitely good to hear that the weather is
not really warming up. Last time we talked was and
then it stopped warming up. Now it's cold again. Kind
of the regular of what we get around in March.
I actually did get out and play golf. I played
golf outside last Wednesday and it was like twenty degrees.

(02:05):
I was wearing shorts and now it's freezing outside.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
Yeah, yeah, that was what didn't there wasn't there a
game that day?

Speaker 3 (02:13):
Uh? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:14):
There was that night? Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was the
that was I think that was against I think it
was against Branford. It was a Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Was it that nice against Branford? I don't remember.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, yeah, maybe in Branford it was cold.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
It was yeah, but yeah, nice that it was nice.
That's that's Sunday.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Yeah. Anyways, Yeah, so that was nice. And also one
thing that I'm very excited about is major League Baseball
starting tomorrow. But we record this, we record this. The
Blue Jays opening day is on Thursday. Uh will have
passed when this comes out. They're into the season by
now once you're hearing this. But I'm really looking forward
to that one. I think they're gonna be good. I do.

(02:57):
I do think, Uh yeah, I think they're gonna make
the play playoffs.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
They're gonna make the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
I do. I do think they will. I think the
the American the East is the weakest that we've seen
it in a long time. With Garrett Cole going down
for the whole year, it's a huge blow to the Yankees.
Gen Carlo Stanton maybe not going to be back the
whole year. They've lost Juan Soto, like there's a lot
missing there. Yes, they went out. They got Paul Goldschman.
I don't know how good he's gonna be. Tody Bellinger,

(03:23):
how bigs you're gonna be?

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Man? No, I don't.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
I just I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
I know you hate the Yankees and I hate the
you know I'm not a Yankee. Yeah, well, but you
know the way it goes Man, they always get somebody.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
They always get somebody will those somebody, somebody will plug it.
But Paul Goldman's thirty nine like is that. I don't
think he's gonna have a huge bounce back here.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
He comes to New York.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
I don't I don't see that happening.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
They always do.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
I don't see it happening. I don't see that.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
I hope, I hope he doesn't have a good year.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
But I do think the Yankee step back. The Rays
are always going to be around there. Baltimore didn't do
enough in the pitching staff department, Like they lost Corbyn
Burns and they didn't really replace him with anything. I'm
not saying that the Blue Jays will necessarily be I
think they'll probably be better than the Yankees personally, but
I don't know. Baltimore's probably still up there Boston as

(04:13):
a good team. But I do think it'll be battle like.
I see the Jays probably in that eighty six to
eighty eight win range, and we'll see if that gets
the most.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
So there is a prediction. There is a prediction. I mean,
the Jay's making the playoffs this year.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
If anything, I don't know, Man, I hope so of course, right,
I'm a James fan too, But we'll see.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Yeah, it hasn't hasn't worked out the past couple of years.
But I think I think they'll be. They'll definitely be
better than they were a season ago. But of course
that's on the baseball side, and we still got hockey
going on. So we have a big series obviously, steelhead
series coming up here with the Oshawa Generals first round.
But before we get to that, we'll talk about the

(04:55):
end of the year. Now, these two games that we're
going to talk about didn't really matter a whole lot
in Jerman standings. The steel EDGs were, you know, pretty
locked into that that fifth spot in the in the
Eastern Conference. But first we can start with that that
game against Peterborough steel Ed's coming out and having a
strong effort at home in their second last game of
the year, winning six to one.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
It was Connor Smith five points in that game. That's
trick against the Ford team. Right, the big great and
man man the sheriff just keeps on keeps on ticking.
He played well against the Peterborough Yeah, hey, maybe this
this game didn't mean that much, but you know, James
Richmond and staff and everybody, of course, he got to
keep things rolling, right. And I'm not a fairm believer
of sitting guys for too long because you never know,

(05:37):
you know, the chemistry can go off and they get
back on the ice and you know, right, and you
keep them in game actually because now you got that
nice rest for the playoffs because their last game was
on Sunday and then then you know the next game
is going to be on Friday and whatnot, right, and
that's that's a long time right now. So but I
like what they did. It was a nice win against
the Peterborough Pete. The total team effort, that's all I

(05:59):
have to say, total team effort. Just played really well.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Yeah, and he mentioned Connor Smith's he was on a
tear to end the year. I mean, just scoring and
putting up points at a at a crazy clip. But yeah,
he gets the five points in that game, he gets
the hat trick against his former team in the Peterborough Pete.
So big win for the Steelheads there again, kind of
on the confidence side of things, making sure that everything
stays rolling, stays moving in the right direction, and then

(06:24):
you get the game against Kingston. Now, we were kind
of hoping that the game that game would mean something
at least for the front and next it didn't. So
Kingston had already finished in the third spot in the
Eastern Conference. So they sat quite a few of their guys.
I mean, yet Burns out of the lineup. Yeah, you
know a few other guys, Will as Pen and Eam
he didn't play either, Like they started their third string

(06:45):
goalie as well. So yeah, I was a little surprised too.
But again, so they sat a lot of their guys,
but surprisingly now I know, James Richmond said he didn't
want to send any guys, and I agree with you.
I think it's a good sentiment to not sit players,
especially the steel Heads who have had a lot of
miss time with injury and all that. So I understand that.

(07:05):
But I was surprised that he got Sova and Raycoff
back into the lineup. I was thinking, maybe they'll just
kind of take it easy with them, but no, right
back in there to play that game. And I like that.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
I do like that. Yeah, I like that too. No,
you're in.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
That's yeah, that's good. And Luke me said, was he
sat out that game? Well, that's one guy that did
sit right, So he sat that game. So but yeah, hey,
got to get him back in the lineup, got to
get Razor and shape and back in game shape whatnot.
But uh wow, yeah, they really played well against Kingston too.
I mean but uh uh Jack Divan Covid was very

(07:39):
good in that game as well. Good to see and
he's going to be the number one guy going in
obviously to the playoff playoffs for the Brampton Steelheads, right,
so uh really appressed with his play again again, Carter
Smith just a beast back there.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Man, Man, you can really see.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
I know I keep talking about this guy, but and
him and and I know I mentioned on the broadcast,
but him and and I don't forget Finn.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Hardy was out that game too, I know he was
out against Peedborough.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
Sorry yeah with the suspension, yes.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
Okay, okay, So I was just gonna say, don't forget
that him and Parker von Richter played together ever since.
Ptter Smith got traded from Owen Sound right for the
very first game in Ottawa.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
So they moost two are just clicking on high cylinder
right now. Parker von Richter played at a different level.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
That defense is playing at a different different level right now,
really high level. It's good to see. So hopefully they
could keep that up in the playoffs. The case's side
flying ash to a general's team.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Yeah, the defense has looked great, and you mentioned Jack
Ivan Covid playing a strong game in the last one
as well. Quickly before we go to break, want to
mention about the overage ceremony as well. Congratulations to the
Stevie Leskovar, Spencer Silva, and Connor Smith finishing off their
regular season in the OHL. But you know, hopefully they
get get a long time playing in the playoffs coming up.
But obviously great, great careers for those three guys.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Great ceremony.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Great to see their families on the ice, and you
know what the families did for them and growing up
and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Good people. I mean, I.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
Mentioned that Connor Smith's dad is a cop, and uh,
you know, just to say and Windsor he's a Windsor native.
It's so, Spencer Solva, he's a Windsor Native. His dad
was a fireman. That's kind of that's kind of funny right,
and then you got the mechanic Stevie Leskomar's dad, Big
Steve Right. So good people, good families, great to see
and they're gonna they're gonna go They're gonna go long.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Their pro careers, I think, are gonna are gonna be
really good for all three of them, for sure.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
Definitely still lots of hockey ahead for those those three
guys after the Ohl definitely all right, So we'll take
a break here. On the other side, we're gonna be
talking to Gabe Shirat, so stick around for that. You're
listening here to Trap Talk on SAGA nine sixty Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
New radio, No Problem stream is live on SAGA ninety
sixty am.

Speaker 5 (10:04):
Dot c a.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Ed Welcome back to trout Talk here on TAGA nine
sixty am. I'm Brendan Lang along with mikey k my
Careful Yates, two broadcasters of the Brampton Steel EDGs and
I mentioned it just before we went to the break,
but now like to welcome our guest onto the show,
steel Heads Forward, Gabe Sharrat Avery his cave. How are
you doing man, Thanks for coming on.

Speaker 6 (10:39):
Hey, guys, how you doing? Thanks for having me?

Speaker 3 (10:41):
No problem.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
Man, doing great, doing great, doing a lot better than
I have last couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
So that's a good thing. So how are you doing?
I was, how's practice been going for you?

Speaker 7 (10:53):
It's going well, you know, just getting ready, getting prepared
for as on Friday, you know, going over some of
their game film and all that.

Speaker 6 (11:00):
But no, it's been a it's been a good weekly
and up to it so far.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
What's the what's the feeling like around it? We had
a Kieran Miokowski on the show last week, and you know,
he was saying about the confidence level that you guys
have going into it. It was just kind of the
general feeling around the guys throughout the throughout the locker
room here going into the playoffs.

Speaker 7 (11:17):
Yeah, like we're really pumped up to play. Everyone believes
we can beat them, which I think we can. You know,
just you know, sticking to our game plan and not
worrying about theirs too much, I think is what's going
to help us. But yeah, the boys are are juiced
up too for Friday.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
All right. I like that in a nice long playoff
front hopefully. Yeah, is that the feeling you guys are getting, like,
you know what this is the year, guys, this is
the year. Like, have you guys been talking amongst each
other about that kind of thing? You know? Has that
been the word to pump you guys up?

Speaker 7 (11:48):
Yeah, Like I know for some of the guys, like
it's their last time competing for a championships, so they
want to win. For the guys in their draft year,
we want to win because that helps us go far.
So I think everyone's pretty everyone's kind of bought into
the system and you know what we want to do,
and everyone wants to go far.

Speaker 6 (12:07):
So that's uh, it's a good sign.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
Before we get to the next question from Brendan, I
just want to say your engineering skills have gotten a
lot better.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
I just want to say.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
Total, like I mean, like Tom last time, Yeah, from
three from three out of five, just to say which
is good?

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Hey, three to five is good man.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
From that to now listening to you, you're at twenty
five out of five. Thanks, very good, very good, well done.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
All right, but yeah, no, it's all good. I think
it's good to take good praise to throw up there. Yeah,
for for you specifically though, I mean, now it's your
your second year, and then the ohl of course, like
you you've but you've been through the playoff run before.
Obviously not lengthy last year, but still you got the
feel of it, kind of going down the stretching the season,

(13:00):
what that felt like, and then playing in a first
round against Sudbury. So what can you kind of take
from that and maybe even help some of the younger
guys on the team that maybe haven't been through it.

Speaker 7 (13:09):
I think a big thing for us last year was
our discipline. You know, we'll including myself getting suspended two games,
but I think just staying out of the box will
be key. And you know, obviously I'll help us get
past the first round, but you know, we if we
want to go far, we're.

Speaker 6 (13:26):
Gonna be more disciplined teams. So I think that's one
of the things I can kind of relate to for
the whole team.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
All right, Gabe, you know this is your draft, You're right,
So if you have something to tell us scout about you,
what would you tell them?

Speaker 7 (13:44):
You know, just that I bring a consistent, you know,
effort every night. Just the guy who loves or gets
in the gridy ears of the ice, not afraid to
put the buck in the net, and uh, we'll give
it and we'll be the hardest worker every shift.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
Speak of putting the puck in the head. I mean
you've you've really upped your scoring production this year. I
mean twenty one goals this season, you know, compared to
five last year. Uh, kind of what's been what's been
the difference for you in your in your game specifically,
I guess on the offensive side, I think just having.

Speaker 7 (14:15):
More confidence with the puck, you know, holding onto holding
on to it more often, you know, making plays, making
more plays with it. I think that's been a key
thing in my game this year. And uh, you know
that's obviously helped with getting more minutes a nice time,
but yeah, I say this overall confidence has helped me

(14:35):
help me this year.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
It seems like whoever you've been on a line with,
I mean, it doesn't matter if you're with Kieren Wikowski
on the line. I mean you've been bumped up, you've
played with Eden Lane. Of course, it doesn't matter who
you're playing with. I mean you played Lucas Karimiras and
he did a beautiful pass with you.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
But that boy, boy, that one timer.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
That's a tough one timer man on a rolling puck
like that, and it was perfect just to say. But
my question is, you know, it doesn't matter who you're
playing with, it just seems like you knew you've got
that chemistry. And everybody talk about that.

Speaker 7 (15:04):
Yeah, you know, I try not to, especially when I
get moved up in the lineup, Just try not to
change my game at all.

Speaker 6 (15:10):
Just play the same way.

Speaker 7 (15:11):
And you know, guys like it because I do all
the dirty work and the corners, like I said, get
in front of the net, get to the get get
to the areas of the ice for other guys don't
want to. And you know, other guys like that, so
they appreciate it, and I think that's why I mesh
well with everyone.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
That kind of a theme that we've heard talking to
two different players is playing to like their identity and
playing to their role and uh, kind of finding that
spot where you fit in the lineup kind of like
what you're saying right there. So how much does goes
into maybe the coaching staff helping you and just kind
of playing your game and finding that role that kind
of works for you. Obviously it's been working well recently.

Speaker 6 (15:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (15:48):
Well, obviously having confidence in yourself, but you also need
confidence within your coaches and you know, being able to
get gain their trust to put you out there on
the ice. And that's a big thing in both ways,
like with working with Thorny and the coaches after practice
and you're just proven a day in, day day out,
which which obviously I have, and you know that's a

(16:10):
big reason why they put me out in different scenarios
like at the end of the game, power play, you know,
wherever they need me to play.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
How much credit would you give the stuff on thorn
and your growth?

Speaker 6 (16:22):
Oh so much going over video after practice before practice
morning ices. Yeah, he's held me. He's helped me a bunch.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
And with that, obviously with that role, you play a
very physical style of game, you know, getting in on
the ford check and playing kind of a power forward role.
I heard you say that you kind of model your
game after Brady could shuck. Now, has that always been
the way that that you played, Like if you always
had that physical edge year is that something you've had
to develop a little bit more as you've kind of
got along in your career.

Speaker 7 (16:53):
Yeah, I've always always tried to play that way, especially
you know when I first started hitting and what bantam,
But yeah, just you know, always being that guy who
in the dirty areas, you know, banging bodies, get in
the front of that. I've always had to play that
kind of role, so I always obviously had to get
bigger and stronger, especially you know, the transition to the OHL.

Speaker 6 (17:16):
But yeah, I've just always played that way and just
couldn't keep playing that way.

Speaker 4 (17:22):
Right, So you know what he played with your minor
hockey with the Brandford ninety nine ers, you get drafted
to the steel Aheads, talk about talk about that whole
moment for you. Is that where you wanted to go?
Or did you want to go to the Brandford Bulldogs?

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Oh? No, they weren't in the league yet anyway, But anyway,
talk about that.

Speaker 7 (17:40):
No, I was just hoping forever. Yeah, whoever was picked
me first, and fortunately it was or Miss Augustealers at
the time. But yeah, it couldn't be more fortunate enough
for them to draft me and eventually make the team.

Speaker 6 (17:57):
But yeah, it's been good everything ever since.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
How cool is the two to kind of go back
to Branford now that they do have a team and
play there in the place that you got to play
your minor hockey.

Speaker 6 (18:07):
Yeah, it's pretty cool.

Speaker 7 (18:08):
Like the rink and everything is brand new, like when
I played there because we had we mostly played the
Gretzy Center, but you had practices at the Civic Center
and it's totally changed, like it looks way better. And yeah,
I love playing there.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
What is it about Branford?

Speaker 4 (18:22):
Every time you go back there, you pop a couple
of goals, you pop one goal, you hit somebody, you've
got two points, You're always a star. It seems like
every time you go there, you step you're game to
a different level, right, I mean I think I think
homes there.

Speaker 7 (18:35):
Yeah, yeah, I think it's just a hometown game, you know,
having a bunch of family there and you know, obviously
wanted to impress them and all the support that must.

Speaker 6 (18:43):
Yeah, I love it every.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
Time every time it goes back to Branford, you just
just rip up the whole, the whole, the old town.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
You and Karl Miris, you guys are just like you
guys play at a different level, but especially you, Mike
Goodness me. Yeah, I love it.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
Love to see it because no, I like it because
when you want when I'm walking out and I see
your dad there, uh, you know, with your family and there's.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
There's a lot of you guys you know, so it's good.
It's it's awesome. I'm just saying I love to see it,
so you could tell, you know, pumps up, and it
would pump me up to if I was in your situation,
just to say it's good stuff.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
I also wanted to say, I was watching that that
video that you'd recorded with the with the Steelheads about
you know, talking about your draft here and all that,
and you said that your favorite player was dust and Buffalo. Now,
first of all that, first of all, that is an
amazing favorite player. Like that's way off the board. I've
never heard that one before. Uh, how did you how
did you fall in love with dust and buff It's awesome.

Speaker 7 (19:44):
That's a great question, you know what the same like
the boys are saying the same thing to me, like
dust and Buffling, Like what crazy? But no, my cousin,
my cousin played for Winnipeg and U right, Dustin Bufflin
played for them during that time, and I they were
a deep pairing together, and I just you know, always
loved watching him like big hits. He'd lay like the

(20:06):
fights to get into the goals. He'd score like he
just do it all. So just yeah, I really loved
like really loved watching him, especially in the playoffs too
when they had I think they went to the conference
finals one year.

Speaker 6 (20:17):
Yeah, he's amazing.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
I just wanted to quickly ask you, but you mentioned
your cousin there, like, yeah, how much does that help too?
Having a kai a round that's that's played in the NHL.

Speaker 7 (20:27):
Yeah, you know, you know, like, uh, you know, I
talked to him every once in a while. He's always
giving me advice and feedback. So it's good to kind
of have someone who's you know, been through been through
it all, kind of you know, getting drafted to the NHL,
working his way up in the minors and eventually making it.
I think he just hit his seven hundredth games, So
it's always good to have someone to talk to you

(20:49):
like that. And he's helped me a lot as well.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
What's your count? And did let everybody know who your
cousin is?

Speaker 6 (20:54):
Ben shat on Detroit?

Speaker 3 (20:56):
Was there is everybody? You know?

Speaker 4 (21:00):
I want to talk about that too. You come from
quite the athletic family. Your cousin's Ben Shura. Your dad
won a Great Cup. My grandmother Tiger cuts your grandfather Okay,
your grandfather won a great Great Cup with.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
The with they hailed the Tiger Cats. I mean unbelievable, right, Like.

Speaker 4 (21:19):
Is there something else someone else in your family that's
a swimmer or a gymnastics person that's getting you know,
the wins first place?

Speaker 3 (21:26):
I don't know about. It's amazing. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (21:29):
I come from a pretty athletic family, you know.

Speaker 7 (21:31):
I think mostly everyone in my family has been in sports,
whether it's basketball, hockey, rowing, Like literally cool, Yeah that's tough,
I know.

Speaker 6 (21:45):
So, uh, pretty athletic family. So come from good generation.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Yeah you got the jeans right. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
So with all with all those sports, did you play
anything else growing up? Or was it mostly just hockey
for you?

Speaker 7 (22:00):
Mostly hockey. I played a little bit of flag football.
I always wanted to play tackle, but I couldn't with
hockey right contact. But I could see that, Yeah, yeah,
pretty much just hockey twenty four to seven.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
Just hockey. It's like football. I could see that.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
I could see you being a corner cornerback that garden,
that wide receiver and just popping them. Every time that
receiver gets the ball, they'd be scared to throw to
your side.

Speaker 7 (22:26):
That always play sports are fun, Like I played volleyball,
basketball with my buddies, whatever, But yeah, mainly just hockey.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
That's awesome, that's great.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
So I mean, uh again, you know, let's circle back
down to this play hopefully a long playoff run for
you guys. So you know, you guys are locked in
right now. It just seems like you guys are playing
at a different level. It seems like the last you know,
I mean sixteen games really, right, that's what it is.
So in practice and the practice is more intense than

(22:57):
usual going up to this for game one.

Speaker 7 (23:01):
Yeah, somewhat to an extent, Like I know, Jared said
this today, doesn't doesn't want anyone getting hurt like blocking
shots or anything like that. It's kind of taking it
easy a little bit, kind of like short, hard, quick,
and then you know, get the rest of the off
keep it, keep it short and sweet. Just get ready
to get ready for the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
Yeah, very smart.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
And the stretch of hockey that you guys have been
playing recently obviously has been the best stretch of the year. Like,
what's what's been the difference? Obviously, you know, there's a
lot of health issues early on in the year. Now
everybody's seeming to get healthy. But what's kind of been
the driving force for this great stretch here recently.

Speaker 6 (23:38):
I think it's just a buy in.

Speaker 7 (23:39):
You know, everyone playing the right way, you know, playing
two hundred foot game has really been key. Making sure
we backcheck and obviously put in the puck on the net,
which we've been doing a lot of. So yeah, we
guys got to keep it going.

Speaker 4 (23:53):
Can you talk about that goal what you scored. I mean,
I know I talked about it with that rolling puck
with that one timer. Oh my gosh, Like how and
you put it in the perfect position, like like the
it was the perfect shot, Like how hard was.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
That to do? I just like talk about that goal.

Speaker 6 (24:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (24:11):
So, uh so Connor Smith flipped it up in the
center right and it was kind of bouncing on the
d I try to try to like hit it down.
The poker's rolling hopway over my stick when right to
Carmiras and then I think the goalie thought he was
gonna shoot it, but he give it back to me
and I had more noth than I thought.

Speaker 5 (24:29):
Oh you sure did.

Speaker 6 (24:33):
Took a whack at it and went in.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
So that was a great That was a great one timer.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
So you know, I know it's I just want to
add on to this I know I talked about your
draft year and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
Is that in the back of your head right now?
Not at all, right, this is it's all about winning
right now and whatnot.

Speaker 6 (24:50):
But yeah, exactly like you said, we'll talk about that.

Speaker 7 (24:54):
Yeah, just you know, because obviously, like I said before,
the further we going playoffs, the better it will be
for me in my draft stock.

Speaker 6 (25:02):
So anything to help the team win. And it's all
about the team now.

Speaker 7 (25:07):
During the season, you know, worried about yourself obviously the
team is still but but come playoff time, it's all
about the team.

Speaker 6 (25:15):
Whatever. Whatever they need me to do, I'll do it.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
Love it.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
And one guy I wanted to ask you about it
was you were talking about that goal and you mentioned
Connor Smith at the beginning. Obviously he's you know, at
a tear offensively right now, but just kind of what
has he brought since he's come over, you know, with
the championship, pad, degree and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 7 (25:34):
Yeah, I think his his leadership skills for sure, you know,
just you know, hearing him speak up in the room
and tell us his experiences on his OA Tel championship,
you know, I think that's a big thing. For us
because we don't have many guys who have been far
like on the team at least, but yeah, he's been
a it's been a great addition for us and thankful

(25:56):
to have him.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
He's just a just a leader. And it seems like
to me, you talked about buying right, it seems like
everybody now is knowing their rules. Talk about that.

Speaker 6 (26:08):
Yeah, so everyone everyone kind of knows their role and.

Speaker 7 (26:15):
You know, whether you're a first line guy you know,
puts up points, fourth line guy who crashing bangs, Like,
we need all those guys to know their role and
know what they're doing for playoffs because if you're if
you're want to be a skill guy and you're on
the fourth line right right, won't work.

Speaker 6 (26:34):
I think knowing your role is going to be important
for the series.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
Very good last one for me, K before we let
you go here, What are you if there's maybe one thing, like,
what are you looking forward to the most coming up
playing in the playoffs here?

Speaker 3 (26:46):
Is it? Like?

Speaker 2 (26:46):
Is it the intensity of the games, is the physicality?
Is it the crowds? Like, what's one thing that you're
really looking forward to here for these playoffs?

Speaker 7 (26:54):
I'd say probably the crowd I know we're Our media
team told us we have a sold out crowd out
for I heard, yeah, well I think it's Tuesday, Tuesday
night we play at home.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
Right game three? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (27:05):
Yeah, Game three is Tuesdays. So she said it was
sold out.

Speaker 7 (27:08):
So I'm pretty pumped up for that, but also playing
in Oshawa because I'm pretty sure they're sold.

Speaker 6 (27:12):
Out as well. Sure, yeah, so uh yeah, I know.
I love playing in front of a good crowd. There's
motion and all that, so I noticed that. Yeah, so
that'll be one thing I'm pretty excited for. At least
you do you do?

Speaker 3 (27:29):
It seems like the more the crowd, the more energy
it seems like it gets to you.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
I remember that game in London, man oh man, like,
you know, close to ten thousand people, you came down
that wing and snapped it by Medvedev. It was just
like perfect shot. The way you play in front of
big crowds is just your feet off of it. And
I could totally tell just to say, yeah, keep keep
it up, keep it up.

Speaker 6 (27:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (27:48):
So actually last year we played in London, but I
ended up being scratched. It was like the one game
I wanted to play all day. I was like I
was like really pissed off all this time. I was like,
I hope I don't get injured anything, like I really
want to be in the lineup. Yeah, but yeah, no,
that was a sick game. Probably the probably the best game,
best game I've ever played. Yeah, the crowd going through goals, like, yeah,

(28:12):
that was awesome.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
The team deserved a better outcome of that game as well,
for sure.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Yeah yeah, yeah, And hey you made the most of
it getting able to get that opportunity and play. So
that's that's awesome, all right, Gate, thank you so much
for coming on, man, really do appreciate it. Uh, good
luck in the playoffs coming up, and we'll we'll see
you around the rick Man, thanks so much.

Speaker 6 (28:30):
Yeah, thanks thanks for having me on.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
Thanks Gabe, keep up the good work.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
All right. That was Gabe Sharat Brampton, Steel Heads Forward,
Thank you so much for coming on to him. We
will take a break here and we'll come back on
the other side discuss our predictions for the playoffs and
what we're going to be looking for in this series
coming up against the Ashawa Generals. You're listening to Trout
Talk here on SAGA nine.

Speaker 5 (28:52):
Sixty stream US Live at Saga nine sixty am, dot.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
CA and welcome back to trout Talk here on Saga
nine sixty AM. I'm Brendan Lang along with mikey K

(29:33):
Mike Heerpolitis. Thank you so much for coming along here
on Saga nine sixty AM. Appreciate you listening as we
get further into our episode here discussing what will be
going on in the playoffs coming up. So first before
we do that, though, we just talked to Gabe Sharont
on the other side, Mike. He was good to hear
from him. First time we've got to talk to him

(29:53):
on the air this year. As you mentioned the interview,
skills ramping up a little bit as you get older,
and I like I like that he talked about just
the confidence on the ice because I think that's a
huge factor and I think it's really noticeable out there
in the second year.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Well, it's huge.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
I mean every time he steps on he he's got
over twenty goals for a third fourth lighter, right, Like,
here's a guy that could probably play on another team
on their second line, on their first line, right, And
it's growth. It's all growth with Gabe Sharad. He's getting
better and better and better, better with his interviewing skills,
better on the ice, better with everything, better with his discipline.
As he mentioned, you know, last year he might have

(30:28):
taken you know, maybe the kind of penalty of be like, hey,
I can't do that, but it happens, it happens to everybody.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
This year, he's not doing that. He's doing a great job.
It's his draft year, and I'm pretty sure he's going
to go in that NHL draft just to say, after
a nice long playoff run hopefully right.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
And just you know he said that too, like a
long playoff run and helps the stock of the NHL
draft as well. And you know he's going to be
a big piece to the playoff run too. He's gonna be,
as you said, you know, third fourth line. But there's
a chance that he moves up because he done that
all year as well. And when he has been moved up,
he's he's really come to play. So uh yeah, definitely

(31:06):
a lot of improvement there and you can see the
progression going forward for sure fort run. So hoping he
can continue that in the in the postseason, and I
think he will. His style of game I think fits
playoff hockey like it's physical. He's around the net all
the time. Like he just seems like the kind of
guy that can score you a big goal in a
big mole. His cousin Ben, Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
Cousin Ben. Sure comes from grandfather winning a great Cup.

Speaker 4 (31:31):
I always thought it was his dad, but it was
his grandfather anyway.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
Cool, unbelievable, that's what I thought. I'm believed for him. Right,
let's do it.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
So first we uh, let's start with the Eastern Conference.
We already did these on the intermission, but let's just
get them out of the way quick here.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
Oh you did, Oh yeah, I had, Yeah, I had
a good I really thought about it more.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
Okay, Okay, I only changed one actually, okay, okay, let's
let's get to it that. I'll just run through them quickly.
Here we'll go with the first series, Branford and North Bay.
At the intermission, we weren't one hundred percent sure it
was going to be North Bay, but now we do.
It's going to be North Bay playing off with the
with the Branford Bulldogs. That series starting in Branford again.
I picked it on the intermission. Might are going to

(32:17):
stay the same, but I picked the Branford Bulldogs and
no one.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
I think.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
I think you see a six game series. Actually, I
think North Bay wins a couple. I like their team
and they have a young They have a young, really
well coached team. So I do think Branford comes away
with it. I think talent is just going to reign
supreme in that series with the older team in Branford
and obviously the better regular season team. But I can
see North Bay winning two games. I have Branford in six.

Speaker 3 (32:42):
I think so too.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
I think I mentioned on the air too. I think
Branford and six as well. I can see North Bay
a getting a couple of games. That got some good
goaltending there. Mike mccaiver, maybe he can steal a couple.
Remember he's a guy that took over for Don de
Vincentis in the playoffs. I think you mentioned that, and
he did a great job for them, right, I mean
he took him far and all the way to the
Eastern Conference five right to play against Oshawa and THENSA ended.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Up beating them. But whatever. Yeah, so yeah, I like
them in six games.

Speaker 4 (33:08):
Branford Bulldogs. I like their offense, their defense is kind
of well, Okay, I think it's pretty good too. Ryerson
leanders Is. I mean he's playing that, he's playing at
a good level right now. We'll go for the Branford
Bulldogs as well. The coaching j McKee against Ryan Oulahan,
I like. I like both coaches, but I just think

(33:29):
they're just too young right now in North Bay. So
I think next year there'll be a lot better. But
I think the playoff experience is going to help these
young guys.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
Yeah, one hundred percent. So we're on the same page
there with that one. We have Branford in six games.
The next one we got Barry against the nia Reis Dogs.
Of course, Sniger got off to such a tour start
to the year and then I've really fallen back recently.
Barry loaded up, you know, at the deadline, even early
on in the year, they loaded up. They've got a
really good goaltending. Like I like the Barry Colts a lot.
I have them winning in five games.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
Sweep sweep around. Okay, I'm sorry, I cut yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
So why no, no, you're good. That's pretty much all
I was gonna say. I still think Niagre could win one.
I think Owen Flores can come up with a big
game and steal one. But but yeah, I'm gonna go
with that.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
But all right, so ever since Owen Flores has come back,
he hasn't played that well. Yeah, he only had that
one good game against Eerie in Eerie does but playoffs
is a different story. You never know.

Speaker 4 (34:26):
But he needs to get that form back for them.
Do you have a chance to win a game against
his Barry Colt Steam? So, I mean Barry's loaded, right,
they got every reush I mean Roma Romany and Steve
so Hus in bold win. Where do I keep going? Bertucci?

(34:47):
I mean wakely, I mean just keep going and going
and going right. Good team, they're loaded. I like the
Barry Colts uh in a sweep in this one. I
think it's going to be an early exit for the
nigg Rice Dogs this year.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
All right, So we're on the same page on the winners.
I have them in five, you have them in four.
So last series here. Now, we're not going to touch
the Steelhead series prediction wise. We will talk about the
series and kind of what we're expecting from it, but
we're not going to make a prediction here on the show.
But we will do the We will do the Kingston
Frontenacs and the Sudbury Wolves. So I'm guessing this is

(35:22):
the one that you're changing.

Speaker 3 (35:25):
But no, it's not.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
Okay, so oh oh, you're changing the games. I see,
I see, Okay, Okay, So I'm still going with Kingston
in this one against the Sudbury Wolves. I think with
Musty in the lineup, I think it's a different story.
Even though Sudbury still does have some really quality players,
like I mean, it's not like they don't have anybody
like farandas you know, the guy who's going to perform

(35:48):
in the playoffs, Ville Neuve of another player that you're
always going to look to in the playoffs to produce.
But I still think, you know, coach of Della had
a great playoff last year, he's not around. And then
also with Quintin Musty not in there as well, I'm
gonna go with six games here, with the front Necks
beating beating the Subury Wolves, I think.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
This is gonna go seven. I'm still gonna stay with it.
I really do think this is gonna go seven. I mean, okay,
I don't know, like I'm hearing different things. I'm hearing
must he's in might there might be a chance he
comes back, and I'm hearing he's not going to be back.
So without Musty, they're a different team.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Let's be real.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
I know they got you know, they got some scores
up there, as you mentioned with Nathan Villaneu, Cured.

Speaker 3 (36:30):
Walton, Alex Farrad.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
Yeah, they got some nice scoring back there. Henry Mus
back on defense. Maybe they they would like him to
play defense a little more, but he's a good power
play guy.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
Of course.

Speaker 4 (36:43):
I think the goaltending on both teams might be a
question mark in this series to me, can can Charlie
Shankle be the guy for the Kingston front Backs and
can Nate Krawchuk be the guy for the Sudbury Wolves.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
I think it's gonna go seven. I really do. So.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
It's a tough place to play up there in Subbury.
Lots of uh, lots of travel, that's for sure. I
know they'll probably usually going the night before anyway. But
I can see that that series going seven, Kingston coming
coming out on top. I think too much firepower for
the suburb Wills defense to handle.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Yeah, no, I agree.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
We saw it saying it's gonna go seven. I think
it might six.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
So yeah, I've got it in six. So just to recap,
we all we have the same picks, right, So Branford,
Branford for me, I'm Branford over the North Bay Battalion
and six Colts over the Ice Dogs in five and
then the Frond Necks over the Wolves in six games
as well.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
Yeah, and I said sweep Barama for the very Colts
and and the uh seven games and six.

Speaker 3 (37:53):
So we'll see.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
It'll be all right, it will be it will be interesting.
So Oshawa Branton, we're gonna t that up here in
a moment when this comes out. This is going to
be just before, not just before in the day, right
the game at six o'clock, so it'll be a few hours.
It'll be a few hours from now, game at six
o'clock tonight when this comes out. So we'll see that

(38:15):
up here in a moment. But we haven't even done
our Western conference on the broadcast. We had we had
Carlo Colaco on on the program at intermission, so he
didn't get a chance to do it.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
But yes, great guy, great, huge.

Speaker 2 (38:28):
Thanks to him for coming on, and big thanks to
Tom fats Us up there for setting it up in
the press.

Speaker 4 (38:33):
Yeah, absolutely, big big shoutout for him. Yeah, he pretty
much owns poor credit. Tom fats he should be a
maryor should be the maryor in poor credit.

Speaker 2 (38:43):
But yeah, Tom for getting that getting that set up. Yes, yes,
great guy. Okay, so let's get into the Western Conference
picks London Night's Owen sound attack. I mean, it's just
it's tough because London. So, I mean, I got London
in four. I just feel like it's it's hard to
go any other.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
Way than that.

Speaker 4 (39:01):
They're gonna be so fired up London. Yeah, I know
it sound I mean, yeah, they got Carter George.

Speaker 2 (39:08):
Yeah, he could steal the game for sure, but I
still got for him.

Speaker 3 (39:11):
He's gonna have to save sixty five shots at least. Yeah,
I mean sixty shots a game. Like, he's probably about
sixty shots are gonna come this way fifty six. We
can never know. I mean, yeah, you never know junior hockey.
But I just can't see it. London, They're too powerful.
I just can't see it. So, I mean, yeah, oh
it sounds like it. I like the rookie. I love
that Pierce Buey bowie kid. Yeah, and he's really good, right.

(39:33):
I like I like Cookie. I think Cookies having a
good year for that rookie Michael Deck coming over.

Speaker 4 (39:38):
You know he might go back played with Saint Andrews,
played with edid Lade, so but uh yeah, I like
him to And four, I can't I can't see London
losing a game. I really can't unless Carter George, like
I said, make sixty five to seventy seeds in one game.
I just can't can't see it.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
But you're right, anything is possible in junior howckey. It's
it's just tough because you know, London is just so
stacked and they had such a great regular season. So okay,
I think we're on the same page there, London and
four Sue Saint Marie. This is the thing about the
Western Conference though, and it's kind of flipped from the
Eastern Conference a year ago. Western Conference is very top

(40:16):
heavy this year, and then it kind of fizzles out.
We're in the Eastern Conferences. It's a lot closer. Uh So,
the next series that we're gonna be looking at is
the Windsor Spitfires and the Sue Gray House. Okay, here
we go the two seven matchup, Windsor finishing with ninety
six points. Uh Sue Saint Marie with sixty two. I
mean again, it's it's just gonna be a tough matchup

(40:37):
for the Sue.

Speaker 6 (40:38):
I got.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
I got winsor in in five games. I think that's. Uh,
that's where I'm gonna go. I know it's tough to
play in the Sioux, but I I just think Windsor's
got too much upfront.

Speaker 3 (40:49):
Okay, well here's my upset. Okay, here it is. Sue
Saint Maury Greyhounds are gonna win this series in seven games.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
Oh wow, I'd be up for that, man. I love
the upsets.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
I'll tell you why. I'll tell you why, am I.

Speaker 4 (41:05):
Yeah, let's hear it all right. The way the Sue
has been playing down the stretch, that's one thing. They
play hard. They only played one way Brady Martin up there.
The way that a Lard's been playing, the way that
Noel Noel Nord's been playing that defense is very good
as well.

Speaker 3 (41:24):
And in Sussein Maury. They're young, but they play hard.
They've given the I just like them. I don't know
what it is.

Speaker 4 (41:34):
I really really liked them. I like their goaltending. I
like Landon Miller, I like I like Lalande. We'll see
who's going to get to start there.

Speaker 3 (41:44):
And I look at it that way too.

Speaker 4 (41:46):
Now on the other side, you got Joey Costanzo, and
I'm sorry Wins your fans. I mean, I'm just just
a regular guy just trying to make picks. I have
nothing against your team, believe me. So I got nothing
against any team. I just have this feeling and I
just have to feeling the SEO is gonna come up
with it and it's going to be a tight series.

Speaker 3 (42:05):
But uh, just I like to let both coaches are good.

Speaker 4 (42:08):
Greg Walters against John Dean, but I think John Dean
has been playing at a really high level right now. Yeah,
I think they're gonna sweap that one through. And if
you're looking for that one upset big time, I think
this one might be it.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
Interesting. Yeah, I mean it's yeah, it's hey, you gotta
love the upsets, so you'll look and and especially you know,
to go seven games, that would be that would definitely
be cool, cool to see for sure. Okay, so we
got our first big difference there. Yeah, yes, that's and
the other way around. So yeah, that'll be interesting to

(42:47):
see for sure.

Speaker 3 (42:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:49):
I haven't I haven't really picked any upsets. It's just
tough for me too in these especially in the West. Yeah,
with with this, but so then you got Kitchener against
the Flint Firebirds, Flint finishing the sixth three points, Kitchener
finishing with h with one hundred points, Flint going into
the playoffs, they really stumbled in there, three and seven
to end to end the season. Uh, I think I

(43:11):
got to go back to my five game prediction again.
It could be a sweep just because of the way
that that Flint really kind of limped into the playoffs.
Kitchener sitting at seven to two, zero to one going
into the playoffs. It was kind of a difference. And
I think, you know, Jackson Parsons is the way that
he's played all year, is going to be a tough
guy to beat. So I'm going to go back with

(43:31):
the five games here with uh, with with Kitchener winning
that one, like.

Speaker 4 (43:35):
Kitchen and six Kitchener in six games on that one
for sure, I think if anything, like I look at
the goal I was looking at a goaltending matchups Yeah,
look at Jackson Parsons.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
Against Nathan Day.

Speaker 4 (43:44):
Nathan Day's a good goalie man, that's drafted by the
UH and the to Oilers, right, he said, to Oiler's property.

Speaker 3 (43:52):
So up front Clint Power plays stinks. That's one thing.
It's not too good. The Kitchener. The Kitchener power is good.
They play an all around game.

Speaker 4 (44:03):
I think that if Flint's gonna win two games, it's
gonna Nathan Day is gonna steal two games for them.

Speaker 3 (44:08):
That's where I think that that's gonna come into play.

Speaker 4 (44:11):
The Flint d I think they struggle. I don't think
there's you know, up front it up out it. I
mean they can score some goals they got they got
mcku up there and whatnot. So I will see I
think six games though, Rangers when that series.

Speaker 2 (44:28):
Okay, so you've got Rangers in six, I got Rangers
in five. That's the three six matchup the Western Conference. Yes,
the next one is a doozy. Now, the four to
five matchup is always going to be a close one.
Sagan Off finishing with seventy nine points, Erie with seventy four.
I don't know if you can call it an upset,

(44:49):
but I'm gonna go with my first upset here. I
like the eris in this series. Upset, Yeah, I do.
I like the Eriatters. I'm gonna go with seven games
as well. I think it's a really back and forth series.
The one thing that bothers me a little bit with Saganaw,
and Sharont had mentioned it when he was on, is
the discipline they leave the Oahleng penalty minutes. That's something
that scares me a little bit with the Saganaw Spirit.

(45:10):
So I'm gonna go with I'm gonna go with the
Eerie Otters. I really like what Malcolm Spence can do
in the playoffs. I think he's gonna be a big
playoff performer. So I'm gonna go seven games with the
Otters over the Saganaw Spirit.

Speaker 3 (45:20):
I actually am with you on that upset, but I
think it's gonna be six. Okay, I think it's gonna
be six.

Speaker 4 (45:28):
I think the returning Memorial Cup champion Saganaw Spirit, I
think it's their Goltenant is not that good.

Speaker 3 (45:36):
Really.

Speaker 4 (45:37):
I'm not sure what's wrong with Andrew Oak. But Caleb
Papitol's got in there and he's had I mean, he's
looked okay, capital, but he hasn't looked elite. And I
look at the other side and nowhere Earlan did. Now
he's a guy probably that can steal some games, Yep,
for sure. And I look at the overall of course, Hey,
you got the Michael lisa Et person.

Speaker 3 (45:57):
You know, Christian Epperson over there.

Speaker 4 (45:59):
Uh, they got some good players over there, of course,
and there was the returning Champ same correct, you know.
I just I just think Eary's gonna out muscle them.
I think they're gonna play a different to a different level.
And they always play each other hard every time, and
he always plays them tough.

Speaker 3 (46:15):
So I like Euri and six.

Speaker 2 (46:18):
All right, there we have it coach conference it is yep.

Speaker 4 (46:23):
Let you know Chris Mallat, he's done a great job
ever since he's come aboard. Then you got the you
got the Champ, Chris Lazari man, Chris Lazar and staff.
They always do a good job and buying into their system.
The young players do a good job over there. I
just think six games, I think this might be uh
sag yeah.

Speaker 3 (46:39):
So yeah, yeah, they'll see.

Speaker 2 (46:41):
I like the erie otters as well. All right, we've
got about three minutes here. I've really lost track of time.
While we were going through the we were going through
our prediction. That's sorry, yeah, three minutes left on the program.
Just we're not going to make a prediction. But what
are you looking for in that series with the Oshawa generals?
Obviously when this comes out Game one and what what
what have happened?

Speaker 3 (46:59):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (47:00):
But just kind of one of your big keys, I
guess for the series with granted at Oshawa.

Speaker 4 (47:04):
Again, I look at the goaltend. I look at the goaltending.
I think that's going to be half to be huge.
I think Jack Ivankovic, I think he's ready for.

Speaker 3 (47:10):
This, for this show.

Speaker 4 (47:12):
You could tell he's dialed in. It just seems like
to me at a different level. Jacob Botser, of course,
you know Rainy goaltender of the year. You know, we've
got to we can't forget about that. And it's going
to be a hard nose series. And both teams have depth,
really good depth, and I think the depth is going
to be huge. Who's got the better depth I think
in this series is going to win it, right.

Speaker 2 (47:33):
I feel like in playoff series that's always the case.
Is kind of where you're going to get secondary scoring from.
And I just think the way that the steel Its
have played recently and the where the places that they've got.
The secondary scoring from h is going to be huge
in the series. Both these teams are just loaded. I mean,
they're both so deep. Both of their defense cours are
really good. You talk about the goaltending matchup Jacob as

(47:56):
Here and Jack Ivan Covid, and remember Ashuwa was you know,
god experience of going on a deep run as well.
So I think that definitely plays into it, into the
into the sort of talking about this series as well.
So I think it's gonna be really close. Man, It's
it's gonna be a tight series the entire way. It's
gonna be tight in games, and I think every game
is gonna be tight as well. Like there's gonna be

(48:18):
some there's gonna be some hard fought win.

Speaker 4 (48:20):
You heard you hear, yeah, yeah, and you heard Gabe
shot say and I saw too. Actually the game three
is sold out in Brampton, so well that's gonna be.

Speaker 2 (48:31):
You know the games that Ashwa are going to be
sold out as well.

Speaker 3 (48:34):
Yeah, well yeah, yeah, fifty two, well they hold it
to bigger. They hold sixty two Compared to that, I
think that we hold like forty six or something like
that around that. So it's gonna be great atmospheres both aretas.

Speaker 2 (48:46):
Yeah, no, man, I'm really looking forward to it. I
can't wait either. You're gonna be up there in Oshawa
to get things started on Friday night, and then of
course after this episode, you'll be on the air, uh
with with game two against the against the Ashwa. I
looking forward to that, seven pry I think so all right,

(49:06):
let's see if you tell me at the station.

Speaker 3 (49:08):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (49:09):
Yeah, all right, so you will be on there. Uh,
really looking forward to it, can't wait. We have like
forty seconds you got. I got a life tip for
us you want to throw out there.

Speaker 3 (49:19):
Take care of yourself.

Speaker 2 (49:21):
Take care of yourself.

Speaker 3 (49:22):
Don't be sick for like three weeks like me. Take
care of yourself. I did take care of myself, but
good anyway, drink more water.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
That's all I have to say, sending to take care
of yourself.

Speaker 3 (49:35):
