Who Were the Victims of the New Orleans Massacre? 
The New Year's Day attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans resulted in the tragic loss of 15 lives,  each with a unique story and dreams for the future.  Here are some of the victims whose lives were cut short:
Nikyra Cheyenne Dedeaux (18)
An aspiring nurse from Mississippi,  Nikyra was known for her compassion and dedication to helping others.  She had recently been accepted into a nursing program and was excited to start her studies.  Her family remembers her as a loving daughter and a bright light in their lives.  

Reggie Hunter (37)
A warehouse manager and father of two from Baton Rouge,  Reggie was celebrating the New Year with friends.  Known for his big heart and dedication to his family,  his loss has left a significant void in his community.  

Martin "Tiger" Bech (27)
A former Princeton University football player and trader based in New York,  Martin was in Louisiana for a hunting trip.  His athleticism and leadership were admired by many,  and he is remembered for his vibrant personality and ambition.  

Nicole Perez (27)
A delicatessen manager and mother from Metairie,  Nicole was a devoted mother to her 4-year-old son.  She was known for her hardworking nature and her commitment to providing a better life for her child.  

Hubert Gauthreaux (21)
A recent graduate from Archbishop Shaw High School,  Hubert was looking forward to starting a career and building his future.  His friends and family remember him as a kind and ambitious young man with a bright future ahead.  

Drew Dauphin (26)
An Auburn University graduate and Honda engineer,  Drew was passionate about his work and had a promising career ahead.  He is remembered for his intelligence,  dedication,  and the positive impact he had on those around him.  

Kareem Badawi
A University of Alabama student,  Kareem was known for his academic excellence and involvement in campus activities.  His untimely death has left his peers and professors mourning the loss of a bright and promising individual.  

Matthew Tenedorio (25)
An audiovisual technician who worked at city arenas,  including the Caesars Superdome,  Matthew was passionate about music and technology.  His colleagues remember him as a dedicated professional with a contagious enthusiasm for his work.  

Billy DiMaio (25)
A recently promoted media company executive from New York,  Billy was known for his creativity and leadership skills.  His future was filled with potential,  and his loss is deeply felt by his family,  friends,  and colleagues.  

The identities of the remaining victims have not been publicly disclosed as authorities continue the process of notifying families.  This tragedy has cast a somber shadow over the New Year,  leaving a community in mourning and a nation reflecting on the senseless loss of innocent lives.
