Cold case is cracked after one of the three decades
Irving police, a new DNA technology helped them arrest a
suspected killer in a nineteen ninety four cold case. They
arrested Derek or Darryl Goggins. Today, they closed a chapter
that began thirty years ago when the police found twenty
nine year old Megan Beth John's dead inside her apartment
in West Walnut Hill. Officers were centering her home up

so she didn't show up for work. Her body was
found in the living room where she had been stabbed
multiple times. Detective set her apartment was ransacked, but there
didn't appear to be a fourth entry in the past.
Investigators revealed they were able to collect the handprint connect
evidence from the scene to thirty food years. New DNA
technology led them to Goggins. Gog Ends. We had run

into these dead ends, said the detective, trying the same
old thing over and over until they tried this new technology.
They sent a sample to the DNA labs and in
Florida they found his profile. The CODA system had resulted
of the positive ID. They all work these cases as

spent years advocating her trying to track down the person responsible.
She was just nine year old when her sister was killed,
said the sister who was the rest of my life
up to this day. That I've gone without having my

I've also wanted to extend hope to families that continue
to live with unresolved loss of a loved one that
even after thirty years, God's timing can prevailed. And that's
