Join us as w sit down for a rare kid-free lunch and open up about their evolving style journeys in this refreshingly candid conversation that feels like eavesdropping on your best friends.

Tajuana kicks things off sharing her rediscovered love for Lane Bryant and newfound obsession with Spanx – not just their shapewear, but their entire clothing line. She raves about pull-over bras that eliminate the annoyance of hooks, ultra-comfortable thongs, and versatile clothing options that have transformed her daily wardrobe. Meanwhile, Sheree reveals how she's embracing her prescription glasses as a fashion statement, rotating between four different pairs to complement her outfits rather than seeing them as just a necessity. Breakthrough moments that highlight how their style evolutions represents something deeper – a journey toward self-acceptance and the courage to take up space without apology.

Between bites of spicy Brussels sprouts and sips of cocktails, the sisters also touch on natural hair journeys, perfume discoveries, and the challenges of keeping up with children's seasonal wardrobes. The conversation feels both intimate and universal, capturing that special magic that happens when women create space to be fully themselves. Whether you're considering your own style reset or simply enjoy authentic sister talk, this episode reminds us that fashion isn't frivolous – it's a powerful form of self-expression and self-care. We are doing our best to bringyou guys real and authentic live

(01:10):
from a random restaurant and intrue page sister fashion, we
just jump right in.
So enjoy.
All right, we are doing.
Thank you, we are going to doRosebud Thorn Rose that we got
to hang out with, just us.
No, kids Never get to do thatrarely.
Yeah, the thorn?

(01:32):
I don't know.
I've just been struggling withanxiety lately trying to figure
that out.
The bud I do feel some growththat I've been having lately.
Nothing specific, just I feelmyself getting better at certain
things.
Nice, I usually come a littlebit more prepared, but it's fine

(01:55):
.
My rose is probably the sameKid, free time and getting
tattoos.
My bud something I'm gratefulfor.
Um, oh, my gosh, the niceweather it's been.
It's been so nice and it's beena game changer for me.

(02:18):
Um, mood wise, you know, anxiety still likes to linger.
Um, and that's probably mythorn as well um, just been in
anxiety paralysis.
We have a move coming up and Iget really overwhelmed and don't
know how to start things.

(02:38):
So, but we're here and we'remaking progress.
So today we're talking about wehave to do a this or that.
That's for the next one.
Okay, because, so we don't haveto do a rosebud.
Okay, you're right, you'reright, you're right.
And the word of the day yes, okay, okay, guys, we said we
were starting the word of theday.

(02:58):
The word of the day today isVogue.
So the day today is Vogue.
So Vogue yeah, I'm reading itfrom her phone, so forgive my
delay.
So loud.
Vogue is a current state ofgeneral acceptance and use in
the popular taste at a giventime, interesting.

(03:19):
When I think Vogue, I think themagazine, but I think that's
why it's named that, becauseit's like what's trendy or
what's like fashionable, oh,okay, okay, oh yeah, I guess
taste in the form of like styleor like what's happening, yeah,
yeah, don't ask us to use it ina sentence, please don't.
Okay.
So today we're talking aboutstyle.

(03:40):
Yeah, speaking of Okay, so weare talking about style and how
I know.
A few episodes ago, we talkedabout, like, redoing our style
and we wanted to give you anupdate about that.
Now that it is spring, theweather is getting warmer, oh,
you might be able to hear itwhen we put this out, but

(04:00):
there's lots of cars out andpeople, but we are live and this
is just where we are.
We could do this without thekids around.
Um, so I did like a not a reallywell, kind of like a revamp,
revamp.
I cleaned my drawers out acouple days ago, like almost a
week ago, yes, yes, and I havebeen hooked on one brand and

(04:23):
then re-hooked on another brand.
The new brand for me is Spanx.
Oh, yes, um, they don't justmake um stockings anymore.
Sarah Blakely has expanded toclothing and they have these
amazing bras that I love.
They're reversible so you canwear them inside and then the
other way.
Oh, and I don't like.
I come to realize I don't likehooks anymore because they come

(04:46):
out, they come undone behind myback, oh, yeah, yeah.
So I'm into like sports bras, but not fully sports bras, but
anything I can just like slideover my head and I don't have to
worry about hooking and I'mwearing it now.
I love it.
It's so soft.
And then I'm also loving theirunderwear.
This might be a little tmi, butwe're telling the truth here.
I love their thongs.
They're super soft and they'relike a little bit thicker, but

(05:09):
like you can, you can't eventell that you have them on and
they're amazing.
And talk about their clothes.
I love their shirts, theirpants, just everything.
I love it.
Um, it was in our newsletterfor April.
I've also shared a few more, but if you want to sign up for

(05:29):
the newsletter, it's free.
It's on our Instagram atTurnThePagePod, and we'll also
put it in the show notes for howto sign up.
And then I also have beenrehubbed on Lane Bryant.
Yes, love it so much.
I'm wearing cute pants today.
They're a little big, which isgood for me.
Um, I ordered jeans.

(05:49):
I was gonna wear the wide legjeans today, but I decided not
to.
We would have been twins.
Yes, jeans, and I have.
I got a romper from them, andthen I also have like a bunch of
the dresses that I've gottenbefore.
Wait, do they call it a playsuit?
No, I think that they callrompers or jumpsuits.
Place what do you like?
Play in them or, like you, goout on the ground?

(06:10):
I don't know, but I don't know.
Um, and then also, what elsehave I been revamping?
Nothing, but I've just or notnothing, but I have been loving,
primarily pure, theireverything spray.
Oh, I have seen you post.
Oh my gosh, I love it.
I use it um morning and eveningand I use it as like a face
toner.

(06:30):
It is absolutely amazing.
And I love their lip oil.
I just started using that.
It's absolutely amazing.
I will also put that.
I'll link that in the shownotes, but I've also shared it
on turn the page pot.
It also tea time.
What is my Instagram?
Yes, tea timed out to wanna.
Sorry guys, whoa, you have both.

(06:51):
We run both.
So, um, that, and then I kind ofwant to get new rings.
I don't know, I'm just playingaround with stuff and because
it's spring, I'm kind of feelinglike a little feisty.
Yeah, it's the weather for it.
Grab your play suits, you know,it's that kind of that kind of
vibe.
Yep, I, my revamping style hasbeen more like accessorizing.

(07:16):
Um, because now that I'm in my30s and tasked with wearing
glasses and fabulous every daythank you so much.
Um, well, I figured why notshake it up a little bit, like
it's hard to wear makeupsometimes with glasses, but if I
can make the glasses unique orwhatever.
So, friend of the pod, momfriend, good friend, community

(07:42):
member gave me a link for Z-Lol,z-lol, thank you.
Okay, thank you.
Oh, that's the glasses brand,right?

(08:04):
Yes, yeah, that's what I'mtalking about.
Um, so, yeah, so you go on, youlike pick your frames, you put
in your prescription and thenthe beer, thank you.
And um, I've gotten four pairsnow.
Oh, wow, I didn't know it wasthat much.
Yeah, that many.
I switch them probably everyday.
Just depending on nice, you havea rose.
I've gotten four pairs now.
Oh wow, I didn't know it wasthat much.
Yeah, that many.
I switch them probably everyday, just depending on the vibe
of my outfits.
Oh nice, you have a rose goldpair on today.
Yes, it matches my shirt.

(08:25):
Oh, so you're one of thosebougie people matching your
glasses with your?
Just right now.
I'm down for that.
I only have four.
I'm trying a little mascarahere and there.

(08:51):
Yes, me too.
It dries my contacts out, so Idon't wear it a lot, but
sometimes I get in the mood.
Oh also, sorry, go ahead,finish.
I have something else I justthought about.
Um, what else have I beentrying?
I think just not necessarilybuying new things, but just
trying new things.
Like today I'm in a crop topand wide leg jeans.

(09:14):
It's giving like young girlstyle, which I love, uh, because
I am in my 30s.
But you know, I don't know, Ifeel like that used to feel so
old and grown and like you haveyour shit together, psa, I don't
.
You don't?
Um, I do not, yeah, but it'sfun to shake things up and just

(09:36):
connect with your youthful side.
We'll call it healing my innerchild.
I would never wear like a croptop or wide leg jeans growing up
because I was so worried abouthow my body looked in it, giving
the world what like it's gonnaget whatever body I give.

(10:02):
It is what I'm trying to say.
That's where I'm at.
That's where I'm at in liferight now.
I just don't care.
It takes so much energy to careand I want to like, enjoy
things and have fun and not letthat take me away from stuff.
So this is part of it.
We're trying new things.
It's nice out, we're dressingfor the weather.

(10:22):
We're not covering up, we'renot hiding, we're not playing
small.
You know, okay, we're taking upspace.
I thought about something else.
Yes, I had perfume.
Oh, yeah, it was.
I think it was Victoria'sSecret.
I got it from Amazon.
Then I went to try somethingdifferent.
You know, to spice things up,friend and community member told

(10:43):
me about the Jimmy Choo perfume.
Oh, talk about bougie.
I mean it was from Amazon.
I mean it's still real.
It's Jimmy Choo something.
When I think of it, I will putit in the show notes.
I bet it's like desire, but no,it's not.
My oldest has told me twice in arow that I smell good and I've

(11:05):
had it on.
That's the top tier complimentyou could ever ask for.
I'm a five-year-old.
He said it smells like coconutand it kind of has like pints of
coconut?
I believe not.
I mean, I'm no smellconnoisseur, but it's so good.
Um, the victoria's secret one Ithink it was a roll-on, and this
one you spray it.
I like the roll-on, so that Ido.

(11:26):
I do, but I'm feeling so greatin it.
Um, I've been ordering a bunchof tank tops from amazon, like
every color or wear out.
The arms are out this summer.
The ones I'm wearing now, yes,the arms are out.
Yes, and yeah, just living lifeto its absolute fullest.

(11:47):
We're currently, I mean, reallife.
We're eating I'm eating anappetizer right now Brussels
sprouts.
They're so good.
Yum, I'm stealing one of these, please do.
They're so good.
Yeah, um, I'm stealing one ofthese, please do.
Guys, I feel like we're justhaving like a.
You're sitting down to brunchwith us, sister's lunch, oh, and

(12:14):
pull up a seat when we're here.
When I'm done chewing, I haveanother one.
Oh, also, guys, where we are.
We're not disclosing ourlocation, obviously, but, guys,
you people who know us, you knowwhere we are.
But we came to get tattoos andbefore we came to this town that
we're in, we didn't realize whythere were this many people

(12:36):
here.
It's because, because it's afestival today.
We didn't know about this blanktown festival.
All these streets are closed, but parking everywhere is the
same price it's $5, so we justparked in our normal spot.
But yeah, we were going torecord in the library.
Obviously, we're just going tobe a little quieter, but you
know what, giving summer-springvibes, let's record at a

(13:00):
restaurant.
We're going to record on therooftop, but it's for a private
event that we weren't invited to, so we're doing it right now.
It's like garage doors andwindows, which I think is pretty
sweet, but we are looking atthe library.
So I feel like that's kind oflike authentic I don't know if
that's the word On brand, yeah.
Yeah, that's kind of likeauthentic.
I don't know if that's the wordOn brand, yeah.
Yeah, a lot of things wentunplanned today, but we have

(13:22):
been going with the flow andmaking it work.
The other thing I was going tosay is my hair.
I'm stepping into like thenatural hair.
I am loving the styling, like Iloved the twist.
It's my favorite style ever,but I don't get it again for a
few more weeks.
So I just had to take the otherones out because they were
getting furzy um, and now I'mjust kind of fending for myself,

(13:46):
styling it on my own, but it'sfun, thanks.
I'm enjoying figuring out whatproducts my hair likes and I
need it doing that.
I know I used to, but I thinkafter this last experience
because it was so positive yeahI'm wanting to find more,
because the braids are great.
They're easy, they'reconvenient.
They take so long though.

(14:07):
They took long to put in, theytook long to take out.
So I think I kind of wantthings in between to bridge,
bridge the gap a little bit andjust get used to my hair.
Like, if it's always in braids, how am I gonna learn how to
take care of it?
So, yeah, we're on a naturalhair crop top glasses journey
right now.
Some brussels.

(14:27):
You know I hate brussels, so Idon't like them either.
But I like them when they're instuff or like when they're
mixed with things.
We can't get past the likecabbagey taste of them, so they
are in the mixed with things.
We can't get past the likecabbagey taste of them, so they
are in the cabbage family.
Right, I don't, I don't likecabbage at all.
Thank you, thank you.
Okay, thank you so much.

(14:52):
You guys need anything else?
Oh no, thank you.
We're good but quick.
I do love them when they aremainly with bacon, because
that's what I like.
Now they are with, like savedparmesan cheese and like this
red chili stuff.
They're so good.

(15:13):
It's like fire roasted.
What is it fire roasted?
Oh yeah, so good guys.
So good um, what are?
Um?
I can't believe it's.
May I know she's gonna ask whatis your style plan for summer?

(15:34):
Are we rocking shorts?
Are we rocking?
It's so hard with work.
Yeah, I can't wear shorts towork.
I don't know about shorts.
I still have a pair from lastyear.
What about you?
I think they're called paperbag, oh, so they're like.
High waist, oh, um, do you lovea high waist cut?

(15:55):
Yeah, those have been my go-tofor the past few years.
Or just some biker shorts, the90s girl at heart, oh, I will
say Spanx has the best leggingsIf you are blessed in the back,

(16:18):
like I am.
If you have bigger girlies uptop, let's be both, though, yeah
, be careful when it's windy.
The amount of times my crop tophas flown up.
So either wear the girls, don'tweigh down, no, they like make
it stick out a little bit more,so there's like just open space.

(16:38):
So either wear a crop top camiunderneath, which I am today, or
just hold it.
And I'm talking to you guys likeyou probably aren't pros on
crop tops.
I know I'm like 20 years late, but I was walking to get dinner
the other day and it was windyand it blew up and under and my
shirt was like so, okay, yeah, just be warned.

(17:03):
But the spanks leggings, thebooty booster, I don't need them
, the boost, booty boost part.
But they are so comfortablethey suck everything in and they
don't give me a camel toe likea lot of them do.
Great love that, um.
So yes, they're quite, they'requite pricey, but they're worth
the 98 dollars.
That's been my right, just likehow much they are, and but you

(17:27):
can return those ones.
So the ones that are on saleyou can return.
But I started buying the fullprice so that I can know what
size I am.
Then buy all the ones that areon sale.
I'm wondering if that changeswith age, that you are willing
to pay more for like goodquality stuff, because right now
I mean yeah, absolutely, notcalling you old, but you know
what I'm saying like, yeah, right now I'm like that's too
much.
I just either won't get it orI'll find a cheaper version in

(17:50):
every sense of the word.
I think you just realize that, like, we were gonna go to this
other place because I alsooriginally wanted tacos, but I
bought this place but I reallywanted to drink and they didn't
have a drink and I was like it's, you know, the food's less
expensive, but I was like I wanta drink, so I'm gonna pay more.
And green carol, yep, we havedrinks.

(18:12):
Now we have drinks.
I have a blue moon.
I'm on beer, girly, um, youhave a, it's a, um, um, hawaiian
something, mimosa, it's likepineapple juice, grenadine, oh,

(18:36):
vodka maybe.
Okay, I was going to getsomething else that sounded so
good but it had tequila and, ifyou know me, tequila is reserved
for occasions such as, likegetting married.
Oh, you did say, oh, sorry, that's tequila.
Yeah, I was like we're nottrying to turn up at 3 o'clock.

(18:59):
I mean, if you are, by allmeans, we're prior to you, yeah,
but we I mean us who havechildren to return home to, yeah
, and the rest of the day tofunction.
Speaking of children, childrenI've also started buying their
spring and summer wardrobes.
Oh god, that's my leastfavorite thing.

(19:20):
Same, I love it actually.
I like it, I like buying thisstuff, but I'm like nothing from
last year's gonna fit, oh yeah,I know, as soon as it gets warm
, you either have to have oh, no, what?
Oh, you either have to have theclothes all ready or you have
to quickly get them, yeah, orshe'll just be like sweating.

(19:40):
I brought my girl some newpieces, yeah, thank you Again.
Anxiety, paralysis, becausethis week was the oh no, the
first week.
It was warm and we were notprepared, so she's been rocking

(20:00):
undershirts, but we got somestuff on the way.
So, guys, I'm not a fan ofCrocs for myself, but I'm a fan
of it for the kitties, and Crocswas recently having a sale of
it for the kitties and crops isrecently having a sale 3 for 75.
So I got all three kitties andtwo kids and my girl, my niecy,
some crocs.
Hopefully they fit.

(20:24):
Mm-hmm, they're super cute,super cute.
Guys.
Brussels sprouts are absolutelyamazing.
Mm-hmm.

(20:44):
Everything's so good.
We don't judge, we observe,observe.
But that's what we are seeing.
They're seeing the street.
We're just seeing people, everysingle person, in their own
element.
So it's kind of interesting.
It is Not in a bad way.
Just, you never know whatyou're going to get.
Yep, it's also the festival.

(21:08):
So people are also in adifferent element.
Mm-hmm, and again, no judgment.
We all live differently, whichis very right.
No judgment, though.
These sprouts are so spicy,spicy.
What's making them spicy?
The chili powder?
Oh, I see the flavor, mm-hmm,interesting.
Were they cheesy?
I thought that wasaguesInteresting.

(21:29):
Were they cheesy?
I thought that was bacon.
No, I mean shaved parmesan, which is my favorite.
What, oh, parmesan Shaved?
Yes, um, yeah, oh, quick bit, guys.
One of my coworkers lovesedamame and I had some earlier
this week, I think.
She, like, heats them up.

(21:50):
It's like this big container ofthem.
I could have eaten the wholething.
So good they are good.
A little sea salt sprinkled onthem, so good guys.
But guys, we do know it's kindof loud in here.
It's because of where we are,so we want to be conscious of
that.
We are going to wrap it up anylast words.

(22:17):
We love a quickie.
A quickie, but a goodie, right, right, hopefully you guys get

exciting that makes you feelgood.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
