Speaker 1 (00:00):
You guys, welcome back on the channel. Looks like Giovanni
Leoni is off to Liverpool officially as per all the
reports today, but other center backs exist out there. There
are other options out there, and similar to how we
look at alternatives for Admiral Luckman in today's video, I'm
going to talk you through some alternatives that in to
have reportedly linked to, but also other names that they
(00:24):
haven't been linked to that will discuss and kind of
discuss which ones are my favorites and of course you
guys let me know in the comments down below which
ones are your favorites. And mentioned other names that we
may not mention in this video because there are a lot.
There's so many center backs out there. Jiohanni Leoni of
course was a special one because he's only eighteen. Fantastic talent,
(00:45):
thought to be by our coach christink Evil to be
the future of Italy's center back position, and I think
we can agree it probably is. But again, he only
had six months of real first team action in Seria
are at the top level. Two performances that really projected
or you know, propelled his stardom and his price to
(01:06):
thirty five forteen million euros and which is maybe a
little bit overpriced. But do willing to regret this move
of not move getting Johnny LIONI. Maybe down the line
we'll see, but I think in terms of if you're
compared it to the Born Journal and Brema regrets, those
were bigger regrets because those were certainties. So let's take
(01:28):
a look at the current situation that inter and see
how it currently looks and what interned. I mean numerically
our sporting director Piero Auxilio, he did say that numerically
we are fine at the back, and in terms of
that he's right. But we know it's not just this year,
not even just last year. From two years we've kind
(01:50):
of needed this, you know, rejuvenation project at the back.
We keep giving these short renewals to a chair being
the riot to just you know, keep the afloat, and
they have kept the butterflow. You know, if we look
back at goals considered last year in the big games,
in big moments, it's not I don't think you can
have a pinpoint into losing a game because of a
(02:12):
cheraby or because of the vrye because they're old, because
they're slow, because they can't keep up with players. It's
more of a generational thing in terms of into do
need to start building and looking towards the future, especially
with this new project, but also because we know in
Doggie mentioned it in the past, but I don't think
he ever had the squad or really the I don't
(02:35):
know if he had the ability to try to try
to play the football. I think he wanted to play,
and Kivos come in and said he wants to play
with a higher line, higher press, which means playing with
a lot more space in behind you, which in theory
we know does not suit a Chedaby in the variety
even at their pomp. We're talking about the Varie and
the ched Tobe even when they were younger, probably not
(02:57):
suited to the style of play. But now at Cherby
thirty seven, thirty eight, the Rye thirty two, I believe.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
It doesn't suit them.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
But this is how the state of play is currently.
At the back. We know that Intro a open to
selling either Povard and b SEC, and of course we
know Palacios is there. I've added his name, but I
think hopefully he does leave onlone to prove himself. So
we are definitely one more name in there regardless would help.
(03:27):
If Leoni came in, I don't think he would have
started over at Cheraby and the Rye yes Kivu being
there maybe would have, you know, guaranteed him a bit
more playing sound than it would have under someone like Indalgi.
And maybe Leoni signing would force inters hand to get
rid of one of a charity and the Rye more
likely a Charaby. There's a five hundred k option to
cancel his contract. But what do you need is a
(03:50):
center back. Some people say you should move b sec.
There be sec as a potential or even poward the
issue with both of them, mainly b secs. They both
will talk about some of the alternatives. They're both forward facing,
aggressive center backs that like to move into these spaces.
They like to cover the channels. They definitely have the
athleticism that definitely in terms of b sick at the moment,
(04:14):
covering wide channels, deeper channels and then on the ball
moving forward, progressing the ball here into there. But playing
center center back is definitely you are the anchor, you
are the leader at the back. It's you probably have
less duels to face in a game compared to these
(04:35):
two positions, but the duels you face are much more
important and much more you know, critical, because they are
in the most dangerous area of the pitch, the center
and of course the center of the box. So it
doesn't necessarily mean that if you play these roles you
can easily transition to one of these positions. And I
(04:56):
don't think any of these guys can actually play that
position more power than be sick, I would say personally.
Which let's see if Kivu also believes that, because Inzogi
clearly didn't believe that. We saw b Set play there rarely,
you know, some preseason games, maybe at the end of
some games. But it's clear that Indogi didn't believe in that.
(05:17):
Let's see how it progresses on the Kivu. Now let's
move on to some of those names. So I've got
data and be up in terms of of put in
aerial dual one percentage versus defensive dual one percentage. It's
not ideal, I know, guys, this is not how you
pick a center back. This is not how you would
scout a center back. Center backs is definitely the hardest
(05:39):
position in terms of using stats to determine because everything
you can't tell how good a center backs is from
the stats, because it's the style of play. It's the
whole team that is defending. It's not just individual but
it gives you a little indication as to what the
player is good at and not good at. So some
(05:59):
of the names like I'll put in Stephan de Vrye
and a chairbe are in here. Where is a chairby
here he is a chair Sorry, here is a chair
to be Both of them have played exactly the same
amount of minutes because they split the time as center
back because of a Charaby's injury last year, which is
another reason why Interdow need to look to the future.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
They do both, they do both well.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
In the defensive deal one percentages of the Rye actually shines.
He's one of the best, if not the best, in
the whole of I think, yeah, I've put top seven
leagues here. Look how well Devrai is doing in that.
And he's also slightly better than a chair Toby in
the aerial deal one percentage. If you want to look
at the top performance performers, you got this Nadee guy
from center Tienne. Of course, you got the current maybe
(06:46):
most people would say is the best center back in
the world right now for a few years, for the
half last half decade Vergil of van Dyck. Then you
have some maybe you know over performers or some you
know you could say the Dotto mend has always been good.
There Pavlovich amel But again this is why you don't
judge off stats. If we look at this, you look
think a Pavlovich, absolute monster in the air, absolute monster
(07:08):
in duals, fantastic center back.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
But we can toggle with some of the filters in
the moment.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
But I just wanted to put forward the players that
we're linked with, So let's starf down here. Lookum from
Bologna were actually surprisingly not doing well in many aspects.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Not doing well in aerial duals.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Below fifty percent, I would say, is the minimum that
you should be having if you want to be considered
for this role, because I think, yeah, aerial duals are
important in the center center back position when you'll be
pinned against one of the strikers. And he's also not
doing well in the defensive dual one percentage. And actually
Lukumi wasn't is a guy that I'm not too keen on.
(07:48):
He's available from Bologna. I think he has one year
left on his contract. He's twenty six Colombian. He's very
good on the ball. If I change the toggles the
filters to the ball playing, I think Lukumi would have
been one the best ones. But he has a brain
fought in him.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
I'm not keen.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
One of the key things I want to discuss here,
I'm not keen to buy a center center back just
for the sake of buying someone.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Leoni.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
I was on board with that because that's not we
know that that's for now, but also mainly for the future.
Some of these names here, these would be like, you know,
you know Saul corc or so, someone mentioned him on Twitter.
That's why I added him here, the Torino center back,
Like yeah, you could bring him in. Maybe you know
he has a bit of pace, a bit of athleticism,
but like you're not really looking for him to take
(08:36):
over from a Cherby and the bray realistically. So those
some of these names have added them because we linked
to them. Corporal as well, the boy that went to
Brighton last year had a very good year. A Hellas
Verona at twenty one years of age ranks well. He
was massive. I think he's like six, four six or five,
does well in the air, also well on defensive duels.
(08:59):
Was available for ten million euros, which is absolutely ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Maybe we could have gone for him as well.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
But again, do I feel like Coppola has the first
of all the characteristics. He's not particularly quick, he's quite tall, slow.
I don't think he would have added anything different to
a chair to be in the Rye apart from just
being young.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
I don't really see the ceiling for Coppola to be,
you know, the starting center back for Italy and for
a top team. I might be wrong on that, that's
my opinion.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Some of the.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Names, and we've got b Sick here as well as well.
Benji Pavard actually not looking too good in terms of
his and that confirms kind of the off year that
Benji Pavar had last year. I think definitely out of
his two years at into this was by far his
worst and that's why inter are open to selling him,
getting rid of his heavy salary if he is going
(09:50):
to play like that again and with his age as usual,
there's always a wild card pick in there, like you
got a Wesley for far Now from Chelsea.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
We know with Chelsea.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
They have a squad of like forty fifty players, similar
to how we're linked to in kun Ku from Chelsea
as probably a last minute move at the end of
the merkato if we're able to pull off a loan.
This is something that you could look at. But again
this is just would be numeric numerical. He's injury prone,
he has some ACL issues. Yeah, he was very good
(10:22):
at Leicester a few years back when Chelsea slashed out
crazy money for him. That is a name that you
could look at at the end of the merkato. Other
names that we've been linked to. You can see Leoni
is there. Loik Bade is a name that has come
up in the last couple of days, very heavy today.
Some reports out of Germany are saying that by a
Lever Cuzin have a deal agreed with Sevilla and the player,
(10:45):
but inter are interested in the player and I've asked
him to actually wait and not completely move to Leaver
Cuzin because they feel like if they move someone from
the center back position they would go for him. And
actually that is a name I like. I've not mentioned
him in the past. I think maybe on the livestream
and may have mentioned him, but he's a player that
I like. He is twenty five now, so coming into
(11:07):
you know, good years, having some good years of experience
as Severe a struggling Severe team.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
But I've always liked him. He's very good on the ball, can.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Also play one of those wide center back roles, but
because Severe mainly primarily played four at the back, he
I think could easily slot in to one of those
center center back positions. Would be quite versatile, good age,
and according to the reports, he's available for around thirty
million euros. Expensive options out there are like Usman Yomande
(11:40):
from Sporting. We know those Portuguese teams, especially Sporting Benfica.
They make you pay top top money for their players
and they have crazy release clauses. I believe some of
the Premier League teams that are interested in the Amanda
over the last couple of years and there's all the
quotes have always been fifty to sixty million plus euros.
(12:01):
Probably unreachable for Diomande. He also strikes me more as
a wide center back, wide defender, very athletic, good on
the ball. Positionally from when I watched him. He gives
me some issues or have some doubts over him. His
partner Gonzalo in Nacio. I really like him. He reminds
(12:21):
me a little bit of Rubin Diaz, who Man City
signed from Benfica all those years back for a lot
of money. Again Sporting for I think he's their captain
in Nacio twenty three years of age. They will quote
you big, big money for him, even though he doesn't
rank well here. Berkman the guy that Napoli signed, he
(12:43):
was actually I preferred Berkima for the center center back
position more than Lukumi and Lapoli. Landon in for around
thirty plus million euros, which is not bad. Then I
put some other examples in there, players that play in
the center center back position in Syria, like Jeluca Mancini
for Roma.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
I've seen in the preseason.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
This is where Gasparini's playing him right now, and Ranieri
played him a few times last year for Roma. And
then there's also is Renaldo Vega who was on loan
to Juventus last year. Juventus do want to resign him.
He's available for around thirty again, seems to be that's
the the ask for a decent center back these days.
(13:23):
Thirty million euros. This is a guy I like a lot,
but he's a little bit on the shorter side. If
I remember Ryan Flamingo from PSV, I saw him perform
very very well against the Victor Jokerez PSV versus Sporting Lisbon,
almost man marking him.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
In that game.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
He strikes me as a wide defender. But the way
he defended in that game against Yokearez, you know, being
very positionally aware, man marking, very old school game he
played against him, following him around everywhere.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
That gave me.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
The idea or potential that this I could be a
center center back and a very very comfortable on the
ball center center back that allows you to you know,
change the way you build up from the back as well.
We also have guys like we've been linked to Omar
Sulit from Udinezev, who I like a lot, but he
definitely definitely strikes me as a wide center back.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
We saw him against Inte.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
How good he is getting forward shooting from distance, His
passing ability, technical ability is top notch. Yeah, twenty five
years of age. He's got some issues off the pitch.
He's got some like legal case that he is you know,
working through at the moment. That makes him a little
bit of a red flag. Like if you guys remember
(14:40):
Goodminson last year for Fiorentina, he had this kind of
you know, not very nice case going off off the
pitch that needs.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
To be sorted out.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
But he also could be available around that twenty thirty
million euro mark. But again more of a wide center
back for me, and the name that has really quietened
down over the last few months. He had like and
this is why you know with Leoni, I'm like, not
too crazy that we lost out on him because Commut.
So if you were talking about Commuts, so there's so
(15:10):
many players here that it doesn't pick up the Commuta's name,
but you can see what he's ranking. First six months
of Sea last season, Commuto was like the hot property.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
He was like, yeah, like.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
This is the future of Italy. Not Pully wanted him.
They were ready to put thirty forty million on the
play for Fiorentina. They apparently rejected that, and then second
off of the season comes along. No one was talking
about him because he had a dripping form. I had
a few mistakes, of course, howl Is he's like eighteen
nineteen years old. Yeah, I can't actually get to him.
(15:41):
Let me just search it up quickly so we can
be accurate. I don't want to be chatting pop. Yeah,
he's twenty years old, not very good on the ball.
I think that's one of the reasons why not too
many teams are keen on Comuto. He's not that great
on the ball. Is a bit of bit an old
school player, maybe more like a Boniorno who's also not
that good on the ball. But he did look very
(16:04):
good in the first six months and another dip. But
if he's available into reports, if he's available again around
that thirty million year remark, that.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
Also is.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Interesting proposition, interesting option for hiter to look at, and
I definitely would keep an eye out for Komutso. So
that's kind of the names out there that are kind
of rit Again, I'm focusing on realistic names. Last time
in the lookom an alternative video, I talked about guys
like you know with some of the wingers that we
(16:36):
could potentially go for, and some of them ended up
they sounded realistic, but then things happen on the market
like Nusa I'll be Leipzig end up selling Sheeshko and
apparently they're selling also Jabi siblings. So now They're definitely
not going to sell Noosa, and the price is going
crazy through the roof, guys like Accluge, Monaic or asking
seventy million. So they sound like, you know, realistic. But
(16:58):
the market, the transfer market, these the prices through the roof.
But again similar to Lukman and similar to Leoni. Now
there's players out there, the center backs out there. Leoni
is not the only one this upcoming sere Are season.
There will be a new commut so there will be
a new Lionie. There always is a new, young, up
(17:18):
and coming player that comes through. It's not the end
of the world, but Inter do need to start making
moves and to start securing the future of that back line.
Will they do it? I and now I have my doubts.
I have my doubts. I don't think either Pavard or
be Sika leaving and I think we are gonna once
(17:38):
again go into the season with a Chairby and the
Brye as the center center backs.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
It is what it is.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Let's see what happens in this transfer window. You guys,
let me know your names, your comments down below and
the names I mentioned and.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
The names you should think we mentioned.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
