Speaker 1 (00:11):
Welcome to the Unreligious Podcast, when we spread the Love
of Jesus without judgment or by laws, focusing solely on
Jesus Christ and the Bible. I'm Chris Drew Big Drewsky.
It's good to see you two weeks in a row.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Brother. I know, dude, I got I was in a
very desolate place there for a minute. I was like,
you know, like it just it felt so weird not
having you here.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
You know, dude, I appreciate you covering for me, but
the blows keep coming. Man. I woke up this morning sick. Man.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Yeah, thanks, same thing or something different.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
My wife and I both think we got a little
bit of food poisoning from the old Mickey D's there
last night. Oh yeah, I mean we took a little
road trip cruising around last night. We got Mickey D's
and I got a quarter pounder and like the first
three bites, I was like, you know, I think I'll
just stick with my fries for now, and I handed
(01:10):
it back to my wife and she got a cheeseburger,
and then it was like I got home. We got home,
and then later that night I was like, man, I'm hungry,
but I don't want to make any Hey, there's that
burger in there, So I went ahead and ate the
rest of that quarter pounder. Dude, I woke up dry
heaving this morning at like six thirty. Oh yeah, it
was no good. It was no good. But it's okay.
(01:32):
I'm doing good now. I think, like I said, she
woke up sick too. She wasn't feeling good.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
So yeah, dude, yeah, that's worse for those of you
who possibly live in around Knauxville. The the uh popas
off of Flint Highway got me twice. One time I
went there, got sick, didn't go there for a while,
(01:58):
went there again, got sick, and I was like, nope,
that's that's last straw. But uh. And then what was
funny is like a guy that I worked with, actually
he actually was like he came into work one day
and he was like, dude, my stomach is roll And
I was like, oh, yeah, did you eat you something bad?
(02:20):
He's like, yeah, dude, I had Popeyes last night and
messed me up. And I was like, did you buy
any chance happening to go to the one off Clinton
Highway And he's sit there and thought for a minute,
He's like, actually, as a matter of fact I did.
I was like, yeah, no, that one got me too.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Oh yeah, man, I mean almost still a little queasy
to me, but I'm a whole lot better. I think
it was just a small touch of it, but it
was enough where I think the Golden Arches are probably
gonna be out for a little while.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Yeah, I mean McDonald's is one of those places. It's like,
I know it's absolutely terrible for me, but it's like
every I don't even know how to really describe it.
Maybe it's almost like a I want to say, like
an addiction, but it's almost like I'll be driving down
the road and it's like my teeth will hurt and
(03:08):
I'm just like like it's almost like my teeth start
hurting and I'm like, h and I could go for
some McDonald's. It's like I can almost taste the salt
in my mouth, you know something. But it's like a
it's like a once every like six months, I'll just
get a hankering for McDonald's, dude, but it's it's few
(03:33):
and far between. But you know, I was trying to think, well,
I mean, I'm like a Wiggles addict, which if you're
not from around like East Tennessee. You don't really know
what Wiggles is, but I'm like a Wiggles addict. I
hit Woggles all the time. But I was trying to
think if there's like one place that just can't get
enough of and it's like it's really honestly here. Lately,
(03:54):
me and the wife have been talking about trying to
go a little cleaner, you know, like just I mean,
we really like Pratt's Country Store in Knoxville, but it's
like one of those small, like mom and pop like
country stores, but it's like they've literally been in the
same spot for one hundred years, which you can get
(04:15):
like fresh South Carolina peaches, uh, and then like the
beef is from like ten minutes down the road, like
one of those kind of deals Almish bread, you know.
And so we've been kind of trying to shop there,
but we've Dude, I was even thinking about, like I
like my curig because of the convenience, but Dude, I
(04:37):
was sitting there thing the other day, I was like,
there's no way like brewing that like brewing a cup
of coffee and like a you know, a little plastic
cup is good for you. You know, it's got to
be terrible for you.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
That styrofoam melting in there as you're drinking it.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Well, yeah, because you think like so, you know, you
put the little plastic cup in and then it punctures it,
so it's like, okay, you got like a little any
microscopic punctures of this plastic that melts in with the
Now I was just sitting there thinking, dude, I was like,
that's good. So I'm like, I'm wanting to switch back
to mister coffee pot.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
We got one a couple of weeks ago because we
had one of those little tiny, like four cup ones
and it wasn't enough, so we actually went and picked
up one. And it's really cool. It's kind of it's
long as opposed to wide, and it's got the krrig
in the front and the coffee pot and filter and
everything around the side of it, so you pull the
coffee pot out of it, and it's got the tank
(05:32):
that goes on the back so you can pre fill
the tank.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
And yeah, we love it. My cousin was telling me
about this company that apparently does like it's like safe
versions of ca cup. So it's like, I don't know,
I can't if he said they're like metal or something,
or if they're like a cloth or something or whatever.
But he said he actually sent in a link today
(05:56):
that I haven't had a chance to check out. But
you know, he said they're supposed to be like healthy
or well actually, ill you know why I'm not. I'll
just look it up right now, my phone's on sleep
mode because I'm normally getting horizontal by now. I know.
I'm pretty sure he sent to me on Facebook. By
(06:16):
the way, we're not getting sponsored by any of these people.
This is just us talking.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
No sponsors.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Yeah, oh, you're a Cowboys fan, aren't you. Uh, My
same cousin. Uh, I guess I'll show this to the camera,
but my uh, well that's gonna show it. My NASCAR
driving cousin got to meet Dak Dak Prescott.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Yeah, he's like, yeah, dude, Dak and uh what was
his name? I guess in the tight end uh and
then like some offensive lineman and I was like, well
what was he like? And He's like, dude. They were
all big, every single one of them were massive. Yeah,
my cousin drives nascars. I got a little tiny god
moment I was gonna talk about with that but okay,
(07:02):
it's called I don't know if you can see it,
but it's called Purity coffee. Yeah, I guess they do,
like they somehow do CA cups and stuff. I don't
know if they're I said, I don't know if they're
metal or what. I have to research it a little
bit more. But yeah, he's told me about that. I'm
(07:23):
liked that, like those plastic cups can't be good for
you know. But yeah, we're but well, we got on
a tangent, you know, trying to eat like green and healthy,
and you know, we're talking about it.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
So yeah, yeah, we actually Aldred Award just talking about
the same things. Since we got back from Europe. Over Portugal,
we have been going nuts on the snack foods like
Doritos and chips and cookies, and I told her we
need to we need to back off all that because
it's not healthy for us. And we just came back
(07:54):
from Portugal where everything's healthy. So we've agreed we're gonna
cut back on chips and stuff and start getting more
like rout and you know, good snacks, cheese and fruit
like cashews, stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Yeah. I mean, like you said, it's just you know, now,
I actually too was kind of like, I mean I'm
kind of interested in you know, like I've even been
looking at like those little bamboo toothbrushes and stuff. You know.
Like I said, one of my cousins is like really
into like like he's trying to sort of like holistic guys.
(08:27):
His his like wife or whatever. But me and him
was even talking about too, Like we're talking about dieting
and stuff. And it's funny like people sell million dollar
plans essentially or like create million dollar businesses just off
of diets and stuff. But like literally, if you just
follow the diet that's in the Bible, you would probably
have like a you know, picture perfect bill of health
(08:49):
or whatever. It's like it's been there the whole time.
But you know, so I was even talking about that,
like maybe trying to stick like a biblical diet, like
not from like a like doing it to be closer
to God or like cause I feel like but it's
literally just like in theory, if you stuck to that
DAYA and then only ate pork so often or whatever,
like you actually probably would be really healthy.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yeah, think about all the Like Basically their beverages were water, wine,
and olive oil, Like they drink olive oil and that
stuff is so good for you. Yeah, we get that
to our dogs well.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
And you know, it's like I wasn't even talking to
Buddy mine, but like we were talking about how I
was seeing a video the other day where they were
talking about the different types of fabrics that you wear
can actually like somehow mess with your body, your body chemistry.
Some people were and I don't want to butcher it so,
(09:46):
but they were just talking about like the different types
of fabrics and the clothes and stuff that we wear
can actually harm our bodies in some instances. And I
was even telling him, I was like, dude, Bible talks
about that, like, you know, the types of fabrics and
stuff that you you know, you can or ant were
supposed to not, you know whatever. And I'm like, dude,
it's all in there. It's just it's just funny to
me how that works. You know.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Yeah, Yeah, I don't know. I don't know about the clothes, but.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Yeah, yeah, that's just something I would need to like
research a little bit more. But they're just talking about
the fabrics and stuff that we wear, some of them
can be kind of harmful to us. But I know
that there's parts in the Bible that talks about like
certain types of woven fabrics. I mean it's lavitical stuff.
But if you.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Guys have a do what I'm allergic to the poly
what are they called? Uh? Yeah, they're not gene material,
but they're not cotton there Oh yeah yeah yeah. Like
working at the prison, I had to wear polyester pants
and so you could wear you couldn't wear jeans or
(10:51):
cotton pants at all.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
And by the way, if you guys have any questions,
calm in it's I want to send us an adda
boy whatever. Feel free to do that at the Unreligious
Podcast gmail dot com. Also, don't forget to like, subscribe, share,
and review our podcast. It helps us leave the word.
We're really trying to get ranked, So please, if you're
(11:16):
listening to this, leave us a review. That helps us
out a lot. Check out our YouTube, which I'm behind
on uploading the videos on It's it's like I've been swamped.
But we also have an Instagram in a tea spring,
which I will put a link to in the video.
But we've got some first five hundred merch which is
(11:38):
just celebrating our first five hundred listens. We are I
don't want to misquote it, but I want to say
we're like five fifteen I remember exactly. But yeah, it's
just something that we're doing just to kind of like
basically celebrate the occasion. We make like a dollar off
of each thing that's sold. I believe I ordered Masta
(12:01):
April fifteenth and that still hasn't got here yet. So yeah,
there's that. But uh yeah, that's that's all through a
third party company though, to make sure you guys do that.
But uh so that was your week.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
Pretty uneventful, cold, windy raining, But I need to get
some ardwork done. But I got to do it again already.
I'm on the grass. I got up on the roof
and cleaned the rain gutters out, blew them all out,
got the sticks out of them, and got those ready
to go. But yeah, it's just the ardwork. I mean.
(12:36):
Other than that, Yeah, it's a good week.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
And I can't see you guys are as you guys
are listening to this, Mother's Day would have already happened.
But do you got do you have any plans for
Mother's Day?
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Yeah, it's kind of weird. We were trying to get
my wife's ninety four year old grandma to come up
for Mother's Day because all of her kids are here
in Shemoygan and she's down by Milwaukee. But she said
she's not going to So something really cool for the
first time ever, all four kids are gonna get together
and go down to Milwaukee and see her for Mother's Day. Okay, yes, yeah,
(13:09):
that'll be cool. So and then it's gonna leave my wife, myself,
my mom, and my sister. We're just gonna kind of
baby grab a bucket of KFC chicken and come hang
out after church and play some card games. Yeah, hang out,
what about you?
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Though? I kind but he's upstairs. But you know, so
for Mother's Day. So my five year old is like
infatuated with the movie up right now. She's watching it
over and over again. Well, in that movie, I think
(13:45):
her name is like Emmy or something. I don't uh whatever,
the lady's name that passes away that the guys, Wow,
she has like that little adventure book or whatever. Well
I got one of those. They had them on TikTok.
I granted, it's like you know this, it's like tiny,
uh compared to the book in the movie. But but
(14:09):
I got that because I'm like, okay, well, you know
they print out pictures whatever do like the scrap book
and stuff. I got her Christian T shirt with it's
got like the rolling Stones logo and then it's got
a picture of stone being rolled away, so that's pretty cool.
And then I got her one of those have you
seen those jars where it's like, if you're feeling anxious,
(14:30):
you know, pull this color, or if you're feeling mad,
pull this It's like a Bible verse. Jo jar is
just like full with like these like Bible verses. It's
like this big and so it's like, if you're feeling mad,
you know, grab this color. If you're feeling anxious, grab
this color. So you know, so and it's just like
you pull it out. It's got a little Bible verse.
And so I'm like, dude, that'll be awesome. And then
(14:53):
she's really Harry Potter, and I got her like this
really nice Harry Potter gift one set thing, but it
caught canceled a refunded my money. I was. I mean,
that was gonna be like one of the big ticket things,
you know. But you know, so this will be special
because this is the first Mother's Day since we've had
two kids, so yeah, it should be fun. But this year, yeah, well,
(15:18):
and so Sunday we're gonna do the baby dedication or
well it's child dedication, but we're actually gonna dedicate Marin
and my my ten month old. So that'll be kind
of cool because you know, we wasn't going to church
except whenever, you know, when my five year old was
(15:40):
growing up, we wasn't going to church pretty consistently, so
we never go up to dedicator. So it's like, we're
gonna do that, do them both at the same time,
so it should be pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
That is awesome, good job.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Man, it's it's gonna
be probably emotional for me. Also, I know you've seen
the post of my personal thing, but we had anvil
the men's night, which that was pretty cool let's get together,
you know, which is funny. The weather kind of wrecked
everything because we were supposed to be like outside the
whole night and we had to move inside and then
(16:13):
we ended up having to do all the lessons at
once because it was like storming. But it was one
of those where you know, you heat the rod up
and then you pull it out and then you kind
of shape it and make it and pound it out
and do kind of what you want and all that.
But uh, we ended up it was supposed to be
like six to nine. We didn't end up twisting metal
till like almost ten thirty or something that the weather.
(16:36):
But uh, it was awesome. It's a good time. I
actually bumped into somebody that was like, so I was
like waiting on the bathroom and and I'm not going
to say his name on here because I didn't clear
it with him, but he's like, oh, hey, dude, I
really enjoyed your episode on Thomas. And I was like, oh,
well happen you know. And I was like, oh, so,
(16:57):
I don't know if you remember a few weeks back,
but brother or Justin when I went to church, he
like name dropped our podcast because they so they have
their own podcasts, the Real Momentum podcast, and he was
talking about it and he's like, now somebody else has one,
and he pointed at me, like across the table, and
he's like it's called the Underlips podcast, and so everybody
(17:18):
kind of trying to looked at me, and uh, you know, so,
but I didn't think anybody was like paying attention. And
he's like, yeah, dude, I kind of ran through my podcast.
I was like, oh yeah, and he said he looked
it up and listened to it. So he's like, yeah, dude,
I'm gonna start listening more or whatever. So I was like, dude,
that's awesome.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
Things, that's great.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
Yeah. So god, yeah, the words getting out, and I
had another story and I'll try to wrap it up
as quick as I can. But like I said, my
cousin Jad race his NASCAR and he just raced Texas
Motor Speedway this past week. He rant, which is you know.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Oh yeah, that's never a good thing in those cars.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Yeah. But uh so I'll back up a little bit.
But so I told him, I said, hey, brother, you know,
because it was Sunday. You know, they race on Sunday.
So I was like, hey, dude, I'm going to church.
Just let you know I'm a pray for you connection
group or whatever and just kind of lift you up
and whatever. He said, Oh, dude, that's awesome, man, I
appreciate it. He's a believer as well, so he's like,
(18:21):
oh dude, yeah, I appreciate that. Man. That's awesome, and
so I go to connection group when we got behind
and ended up like, oh and uh are my Sunday
school teachers Like oh yeah, well we need to get rolling. Well,
he like skipped over the prayer at the beginning where
we usually take prayer requests, and I was like, oh no,
me made promise me get you, you know, but I
(18:41):
was like oh no, So I kind of like, you know,
I kind of prayed real quick. But then I was like, oh,
and now, so we go to church and we have
like a q R code. Hey, if you need anything
you want to pray for or whatever. And when we
passed the off from plates ourselves, hey, if you have
a prayer re quest for drot it down or whatever.
So I was like, oh, so like riches sheet paper out,
wrote it down quick, and I basically I didn't have
(19:01):
much time. But I was just like, because Chad races NASCAR,
he's racing today, just pray. I said, pray for safety
and success, but I didn't say specific success. So anyways,
fast forward, I texted him. I'm like, yeah, dude, you
prayed up, You're good, you know whatever. He's all right, cool, Well,
so he races and he so it's hard to explain
(19:26):
that the team that he races for is sort of
like a more of like a smaller team, smaller mom
and popped up team, and Texas Motor Speedway is a
big track, so it's hard for him to keep up
with other cars because they just don't have enough engine,
and so he was kind of running at the back,
running the back with them. At the beginning of the
(19:47):
third stage, they kind of restarted and some people had wrecked. Well,
there's this big, massive pile up, and if he would
have made it through, he would have been like automatically
in like the top twenty five or something like that,
because so many people wrecked. But if you go back
and watch the footage, it's funny because it's like there's
a line of three cars that's going through just in
perfect sync with then there's like a car that comes
(20:08):
sliding down the track. Well then the guy on the
bottom and he I think his name was Alex Bowman,
but he actually went on Twitter and apologized because he
tried to shift it into gear and spin back around. Well,
like as the car sliding down, this car literally just
kicks up and just sandwiches him, and he's like, oh,
and I was like oh, dude, that sucks. Like I'm sorry.
(20:30):
He's like, actually, no, it's it kind of worked out
because he said, yeah, it suck that I wrecked. But
he was like, you know, I went to the medical
tent because I guess you gotta do that every time
you wreck. And he's like, as I was coming out,
all the major news networks were sending there and so
they interviewed me. So he's like, I ended up getting
kind of like a little you know, pr out of
it or whatever. But then what was funny was the
(20:51):
car that wrecked was supposed to race for Charlotte. Well,
they can't race that car now. So his team was like, well,
do you want to raise the week after that? And
he's like okay. So it's like he literally he got
like an extra race out of it, and in addition
to that, it was like he got like a little
pr and then he's actually had some podcasts that people
talk about him. So it was just it was just
(21:13):
funny because it was like this weird little god moment
because like, I didn't pray for like top ten, top fifteen.
I just prayed for success. But it's funny how this
weird thing happened and I was like, oh, dude, this
sucks that you wrecked, and he's like, actually, it's sorted
kind of weirdly worked out. So I was like, I
don't know, dude, mate, it's God thing. But so I
thought that was kind of interesting because it's like so
(21:35):
weirdly specific that I feel like only God can get
credit for it.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
You know, Yeah, this good stuff.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
But that was kind of like my God moment for
the week or whatever. But I just I thought that
was kind of funny.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
Yeah, that's good stuff, man, really. I mean, I love Nascar.
I've never been to a NASCAR race. I always wanted
to go in one of these days. Yeah. I love
race cars. We have already got it all planned out
June sixth out in a little town called Plymouth outside
of Sheboygan. Here they're doing the Outlaws Series sprint cars
(22:06):
at the dirt track.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
Okay, I'm like, we're going.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
I don't care. We're going. If I've got to sit
in the truck on top and watch from outside, I
don't care. We're going.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
I knew a guy one time, big massive dirt race
track fan, a dirt racing fan, which I always like,
used to mess with him because I'd be like, oh,
are you like one of the thirteen people who likes that?
But like, I was just kidding around, but he used
to always say so I would. I would joke around
with him. I'd be like, why do you even like
dirt track racing? They've not even finished building the the
(22:38):
the racetrack yet, and he'd be like, no, dude, asphalts
which you drive on to get to the track, you know.
But but yeah, no, I I've never been to a
dirt He kept trying to get me to go, and
I was like, dude, I would have. I would just
be miserable because I'm like, I'm not super into racing. No, dude,
you like it. I was like, nah, man, I really
(23:00):
probably wouldn't. But uh, yeah no, but I can see
that those like those events and stuff would be fun.
It's just I'm not like huge on racing now. I
used to love NASCAR when I was younger, though, but
that was back when they like would wreck and this
fight and you know everything else. It was a little
bit more wild back in the day.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
So yeah, yeah, Well, I started a sophomore year of
high school. Me and two of my buddies were the
pit crew for a dirt track racer super modified, and
so it was really cool because he'd come in and
we changed tires, fuel up, washing wind shield or whatever.
And then at the end of the race, when at
night was over, he'd let us take turns getting in
the car and pulling it up on the trailer to
(23:40):
take it home. Yeah, that's amazing. When you got like
eight hundred horses running in front of you with open
headers against the firewall, that's awesome.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
It's funny like how one little thing will just trigger
a memory like that.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
But uh so do you did you have any other
things you wanted to catch us up on for the
week or whatever?
Speaker 1 (24:04):
No, No, I will tell you that there's a little
something working. I can't really disclose what it is because
I don't want to put it out there. But we
have some things in the work for our future, so
let's just let's just leave it there.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
Yeah. Yeah, we'll see what works out.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Yeah, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Well, do you have any prayer requests?
Speaker 1 (24:28):
Dude? I think the Lord has covered us pretty well
this week. I mean, other than being sick, but that's
that's just being a human being. Yeah, he's covered us well.
We really we've been good this week, man. So I've
I've really got to say. I mean, there's always prayer requests,
but for the most part, I think we just focus
on other people.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
Tonight.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
We're covered pretty good.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Going to I'm making a quick list here. There's just
if you want, I'll go ahead and pray, and then,
like I said, I'll I just made a few little
quick notes there, so I'll be those of you that's
watching the video don't come at me in the comments
because I'm gonna have to glance up because it's on
my laptop or whatever. But Dear God, we just thank
(25:16):
you for allowing us yet another day on this earth.
It's just a weird time in history where there's still
a lot of division. There's still a lot of people
that focus on what separates us and makes us different
instead of just finding common ground and figuring out what
we have in common that we can relate to. So
(25:39):
I do want to pray for this country and just
the division, and that you could just just heal people's
hearts lead them back to you God. I do want
to say thank you for the blessings between both Chris
and I. You know, Chris is just a lot of
there's a lot of positive things in his life right
now that's on the up and up, and we just
(26:01):
pray that we can keep that trajectory. And you know,
I want to thank you as well. I've been really
blessed here lately as well too. I mean, just there's
a lot of things that I mean, there's too many
blessings for the account. But you know, but we want
to make sure that we stay humble and we remember,
even in the good times, that You're still God, and
that it's still all because you. I pray to anybody
(26:24):
that's listening to this, if they don't have any prayer
request or trials or tribulations, that they stay humble and
remember to give you credit. God. I want to pray
for my sister. She's on the back half of her
chemo treatments God, and I just want to pray that
you keep your hand over her and if it's your will,
but you can just just miraculously get her back to
(26:45):
health that only you can get credit for. And I
just pray that you can't continue to lead her on
the path that leads back to you God. I also
want to pray for brother Justin's brother. I'm not going
to go into detail, but you know, the details of
what's going on on there. Just pray for him and
just just we just pray that he he gets what
(27:08):
he needs out of life and that you can answer
whatever question the things that he's got going on. And
again we just want to say thank you for this podcast,
thank you for the listeners, and we just hope and
pray that you can guide our minds, our hearts, our spirits,
and more importantly mind in Chris's mouth because you made
us both and you know that sometimes we just can't
(27:28):
help ourselves and we just we don't ever know where
we're going to go. But it's in your heavily name.
We pray. Amen.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
Hey a amen, it is so true.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
It's like, you know, I was watching up and I
forgot about it. But you know when the dog is like, yes,
I am a talking dog, my master maybe squirrel squirrel?
Speaker 1 (27:48):
Yeah, yeah, dude, that's hilarious. I gotta tell you real quick.
You just brought that up. If that's funny. So in
the front of the house here in the living room,
there's a big, huge bay window. Right well outside is
a couple of trees. The squirrels have nests all in
these trees, so Mike Doberman will sit on the couch
and whine and cry, watching the squirrels run up and
(28:11):
down the tree, wanting to get out after him so bad.
Then she'll finally lay it out and calm down. Dude,
all I have to do is go where's the squirrel?
And she is up on her feet looking out the window.
Dat So I'm sorry the squirrel.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
I had to No, it's hilarious. So this is part
two of kind of a saying the series sounds weird,
but just a lesson that which I don't know if
we even covered this on the podcast, but one thing
me and Chris decided to do is like we're gonna
trade off. So it's like he'll take an episode or two,
(28:45):
I'll take an episode or two, or topic however you
want to word it. We're gonna swamped because it was
so fast paced we had there was times where we
would like wrap up and they're like, oh, dude, we're
gonna record two days. What we're gonna talk about? So
this is one that Chris had on his heart. Just
I'm just gonna catch sort of you guys up if
you missed the last episode or forgot and then he's
(29:08):
gonna take back over. But basically we're talking dude. It's
so funny because my pastor, pastor doctor j Thomas Leaborg
literally he like me and Chris recorded that first episode.
Following Sunday he did a series on Jesus's Alive. Now
what I'm like, dude, that's so funny. But so basically
(29:29):
we're talking about like, Okay, Jesus died. Then what happened?
Like Jesus died now what so just catch you guys up.
He died Rose again after three days. Over the next
forty days, he appeared to over five one hundred people.
We gave just kind of a brief sort of summary,
a little walkthrough. He appeared to Mary Magdalen, appeared to
(29:53):
two believers on the road, also appeared to the Disciples
and Thomas, and then you know, he gave the Great Commission,
which were you know, Chris is gonna talk a little
bit more about to not and then you know, now
there was some other stuff that happened there too, like uh,
you know, but for the most part, that's kind of
(30:13):
just a over the you know, overarching look at what's
going on. And then after that, uh, we went through
kind of what happened to some of the disciples.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
Sorry, dude, you're kid.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
I didn't know if somebody's breaking in or what was going on.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
No, I've got the windows open because it's nice out
right now. And the I hear these teenagers are walking
down the road, these girls, and they're all singing. I
don't know what they're singing, but they're all singing as
loud as they could. And I was like, oh, no,
I gotta close the window.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
Oh oh, anyway, Uh, I mean you could hear a
little bit, but it wouldn't too too bad. But uh
and then, uh, you know, so we just kind of
went over what happened to some of the apostles, which
I do want to point out because somebody that I
know listens, they asked about Steven because I had mentioned
Steven was skilled by Paul, even wasn't technically a disciple.
(31:10):
But we were just talking about like early followers of Jesus,
not necessarily just disciples, you know, like we were just
looking at the apostles and kind of like what happened
immediately after, within the next few years or whatever. But
and then yeah, and then you know, we kind of
left off on the Great Commission. Chris left us on
(31:31):
a big teaser, and so that's basically what we talked
about last week. Go back and listen to the full episode.
But other than that, that's pretty much getting us caught up.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
So yeah, So two thousand years later, Jesus is gone.
We don't have the privilege of having him directly in
front of us, so we can't have any doubt. We
didn't see him rise from the dead. So I mean,
our belief in our faith, I believe person is so
much stronger than back then because we have to we
(32:04):
have to go off of history, off of the Bible,
off of everything we're told. We haven't seen anything with
our own two eyes, right, so what do we do.
Jesus tells us again in the Great Commission, and this
is in Matthew Matthew twenty eight. I think it was last. Yeah,
last podcast. I believe that I did another Great Commission.
(32:25):
That was two of them. I think it was. Luke
had another writing about the Great Commission, but this is Matthew,
so it's Matthew twenty eight, sixteen through twenty. Then the
eleven Disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus
had told them to go. When they saw him, they
worshiped him, but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them
and said, all authority in heaven and on earth has
been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of
(32:48):
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and
teaching them to obey everything I've commanded you. And surely
I am always with you to the very end of age.
So two thousand years later, he's still with us. He
promised that I will be with you till the end
of age, and he is with us every single day.
(33:11):
But we have to seek him out. He's not flesh.
He's not right in front of us like in his
day when he walked the earth. We have to seek
him out. They're not going to come walking up to us.
His hand is always there. His hand is. All we
have to do is reach out and grab it. And
I think that the Great Commission tells us, as well
(33:32):
as having the faith in Jesus, we have to spread
the good news of what we know to as many
people as we know. That was the whole that's other
than Jesus teaching us how to act as human beings
and behave and get along with each other. You know,
the commandments are all there, But dude, it blows my
(33:56):
mind when I think about how hard it is and
that for me, Drew, this is the hard part evangelism.
That's what we're supposed to do. That's what God Jesus
called us to do. Go out and spread the word
to everybody. You can write, So what is so hard
about that? I wanted to ask you, what do you
(34:16):
think is so hard about evangelizing? Why do you think
people have such a hard time with it? Because I
know I do. I have for my whole life, and
I still kind of struggle with it.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
I think for a long time for me, I struggled
with it. Now I don't so much. I don't struggle
with it quite as much. There's still times where like
I'll wrestle with like maybe I shouldn't. But like when
(34:48):
I was younger, it's like I was so I guess
afraid of like rejection or like people acting negatively towards me,
or maybe they would like pour a drink on me,
or like, you know, I don't know necessarily what I
(35:09):
was thinking, but like I think you know right now
at the age of thirty four. It's like I think
I just understand it a little bit more and like
differently now than I used to. And I think part
of it is like we don't really understand like how
(35:35):
to evangelize or what it even really is. And like
what I mean by that is like, you know, my pastor,
like pastor Jeff two weeks ago, it was two weeks ago.
It might have been three weeks ago. I think it's
but he was basically just he was talking about this,
but how we need to go out and like preach
(35:57):
the name of Jesus to all who listened. Like what
he was talking about though, was like dude, like just
tell your story, you know, Like people don't want to
hear how you all have it all together, and they
don't want to see like this fake Christian facade or
this like character that you're trying to be or play
(36:20):
or portray. Like if you go to somebody like you
have all the answers and you have it all figured out,
you don't ever mess up, They're not even gonna listen
because it's like, well, like I got, you know, nothing
for you, because like I don't have my stuff yet,
and it's like but he was just talking about like, dude,
just tell your story, Like just talk about what Jesus
(36:43):
has done for you and what He's done in your life,
like you know, like for me, you know, I've said
it before, but it's like first time I went back
to church, I was hungover. I was hung over like
the first four or five times. And it's like over
the last two years, it's like, dude, I quit drinking.
I quit, I quit dipping, but then I picked it
(37:03):
back up, which, by the way, praise report. I've started
doing those little nicotine patches and I've went from like
eighteen milligrams a dip to like three milligrams a dip.
So I'm working down but I appreciate it. But like
I was drinking, I was cussing, I was watching porn,
I was gossiping, I was spreading and causing strive. Like
(37:25):
there's a lot of things that I was doing that
I don't do anymore. But like I think we think
of like evangelizing as like standing on a street corner
and trying to like walk people through like what we
call it in the nineties, the Roman road or you know,
and it's like we think that we need to essentially
(37:50):
preach and walk people through a step by step and like,
don't get me wrong, that's all good. But like, to me,
like evangelizing is just like telling your story, like biting
people to church talking about God, see if they know
anything about Jesus, like do they have any religion? But
I think, like Cliff Knettl said, the best you know,
preach Jesus every day and if necessary, use words, you know.
(38:15):
But like I think it's just talking to people. And like, dude,
like literally one thing that I've gotten a lot better
but over the last year or two is like I
just asked people, hey, man, you go to church anywhere?
Because that question will instantly tell you everything you need
to know. Well, no, I don't. I don't believe in that,
(38:36):
or uh well, uh well I kind of yeah. I
go to you know, blank you know church or ow
well uh or oh yeah, dude, I go to you know,
Fairview knots man, I've been there for a you It's
like when you ask somebody like, well, do you go
to church anywhere? Like how they respond will tell you
(38:56):
if they're like uh or no or you know, oh yeah.
It's like but it's you're just opening the conversations, and
it's like Pastor said his sermony, He's like, just talk
to people, ask him like do you go to church
or whatever? But then like once you just creak that
door open just a little bit, just start chipping at
(39:19):
it this little bit over time. But it's not as
hard for me now. But I think about it more
of like, dude, just talk to people, like ask them, hey,
you know, like you so, you know, do you go
to church anywhere? Or you know, do you have any beliefs?
Like you believe and got like, you know, just ask
him a question and okay, like you don't have to
necessarily ghet them with the Bible track of the Roman
(39:42):
road right then, but just chip away at it and
like get to know him and figure out how the
brain works and stuff. But I think it's just rejection embarrassment.
You know, we're afraid that we're gonna coss away a
friendship or whatever. You know. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
I think it comes on to two things. Myself. I
think the reason that we are so nervous or apprehensive
to go out and actually spread the word to strangers,
especially Heck, I sometimes have a hard time with my
own family, but strangers definitely is two reasons. One is
rejection and the other one is persecution. Ah, you're one
(40:19):
of them Bible thumper things. You're one of them Jesus freaks,
you know. And it's it's society that has muted Christians
because of the persecution and because of the you know,
the rejection. There's nothing worse than you know, walking up
to somebody and saying, hey, you go to church somewhere,
get away from me. I don't believe in God, you
(40:41):
know what I mean. Or it's just negative reaction and
nobody likes rejection or so I think it comes down
to those two things. And for me, it's you know,
I've always been kind of a recluse type of person.
So to go out and just be open and just
talk to everybody about it, that's not my nature. It's
something I really have to work at. But I have
(41:02):
to work at it, Drew, because I'm called to work
at it. And so it seems easy, right, pretty cut
and dry. Right then why is it so hard for
us to get it right? Because we're all born stinners. Brother,
blame it on Adam or Eve or whoever you want.
Bottom line, we have to live with it, whether we
like it or not, right, we have to. So being
(41:25):
a Christian is more than treating your neighbor as you
want to be treated. It is also telling your neighbor
about Jesus and sharing the good news with them. In fact,
it's about telling everyone about him.
Speaker 2 (41:35):
That is.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
I mean, it is pretty cut and dry. We're supposed
to tell every single person we run into about Jesus,
but I'm not at that point. I don't know if
I ever will be where I'll walk up to us
in a convenience store. Hey, brother, you heard about Jesus, right.
I don't know that I'll ever be that forward or
that able to just approach somebody. So we can't just
(41:57):
rely on people seeing Jesus in us, although that is
part of the goal too, is to reflect Jesus from us. Okay,
we are called to tell everyone we meet. I know
how difficult the task is. Most people are uncomfortable talking
about Jesus with non believing friends and family. I am
for sure, dude, Yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (42:17):
Think it's it's harder. I think it's harder to talk
to people that you know or that you're super close
with because they know your past, but they also know
kind of like they know if you're like being legit
or not. So it's like, you know, if you're acting
(42:40):
one way over here, another way over here, whatever. You know,
somebody works with you and they're with you every day,
and they you know they're because a lot of times
the people you work with know you better than even
your family does, you know, because it's like you know,
you're just people are just different when they're around different people.
(43:00):
But like that's the thing is like they've heard you talk,
they've seen Hayak. They've seen hayak. We got mad, you
know whatever. And I know when I first went to
my job, I wasn't necessarily going to church and stuff.
I was in the off the office, the manager's office
a lot, like dude, this bull crab, no man, let
somebody else do it. You know. It's just like and now,
(43:24):
like there's still times where like I will voice like
a man, like that's gonna you know whatever. But it's
like I'm so much more mellow and tame than I mean.
I used to go in there and phrase cane over
stuff because it you know, but it's like, dude, it's
hard to it's a witness to people that really know
(43:45):
you and it's I've tried really hard over the last
really probably like five years to be the same person
no matter where I'm at doesn't matter if I'm at Showny's,
doesn't matter if I'm at church or where you're able
to try to be the same person. But you know,
it's sometimes people across the ocean before they cross the street.
Speaker 1 (44:08):
You are correct. That's like, you know, you go to
church and people at work, No, you go to church,
and then they see you out at the nightclub. They're like,
hey man, that's you are like about god stuff. Oh
now I'm not really serious about that, you know, and
now you're you're right there with it. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
It's or if they worked with you every day and
then they just happen to show up at your church
and they're like, oh, you go to church here, you know, and.
Speaker 1 (44:35):
You should you should see what Big Dril was doing
Wednesday night.
Speaker 2 (44:39):
Yeah, but like now I'd be like, oh, hey man,
what's up. Like I would be totally froud with that
because it's like, don't have you know, But there's you know,
there's some people that like, you know, if somebody that
you work with just happens to roll into church, like
I didn't know you go here? Uh uh, don't talk
to my wife?
Speaker 1 (45:01):
What So bringing up the next wonder, Now, I got
to tell you, honestly, for me, there are certain passages
in the Bible that scare me, that are frightening to me.
Depart for me, I never do I never knew you.
You evil do her? You know that scares me. Here's
(45:23):
the other one. Okay, Matthew ten thirty two and thirty three.
Whoever acknowledges me before men I will also acknowledge him
before my father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men,
I will also disown him before my father in heaven. Dude,
that right there, You just that sounded like Jesus is joking.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
M hm.
Speaker 1 (45:47):
He's not joking around about that. He's dead serious about that.
So the fact that if you deny him, you're gonna
get denied, So, dude, I got goosebumps, literally just got chills.
We can't deny it. We have to talk about it
to everybody we can.
Speaker 2 (46:05):
Yeah, it's like you said, man, it's like you know,
you just it's like you think about all the times
in your life where you know, there's times where I
wasn't close to God, and there's times that I was
kind of close to God or whatever. But it's like,
(46:26):
you know, you think about all the times it's like,
you know, oh, you go to church and like a
lot of times people go oh yeah, yeah, you know,
but they'll kind of like dismiss it or whatever, and
it's like, oh, yeah, no, I don't want to talk
about that, like that's that's my little private bubble or
you know whatever. It's like you said, it's like, dude,
you know, I know people that are great people, and
(46:50):
it's like they have a strong ish faith and then
they are the way they are the rest of the time,
and it's like it's almost like they just change hats,
and I'm like, to me, I've tried really hard to
make them more interchangeable. Like it doesn't matter if I'm
(47:10):
doing a video gig or like a business gig, or
it doesn't matter if I'm at work or if I'm
at church or whatever. You should just be who you
are all the time. And now I actually try to
look for like situations where I can talk to people
about church or I can you know, and the people
that I work with, it's like I try to just
chip away at them, you know. And it's like and
(47:33):
I actually had a lady that I work with that
I was like, I looked at her and I was like,
you're gonna come to church with me for Easter, like
kind of kidding around, and she was like, you know,
I do I do need to go to church with
you one day because she said, you know, you hadn't
hounded me about it. She's like, there's a couple other
guys that keep haund to me about it. And she said,
(47:53):
you know you've brought it up, but like you're not
being just absolutely like whack whack whack just all the time,
you know. And I was like, well, then let's not
tell you. I'll save you see anytime you want. But
it's just like I try to look for opportunities now,
whereas like before, it was kind of like if someone
even brought it up, I would be like almost shocked, like, uh,
(48:15):
why are we? Why are we talking about church? Trump? Now? Work? Dude?
You know, but I think you, like you said, dude,
you got any little window that you can see or
you know, especially if you feel like the spirits tell them,
you need to talk to somebody, dude, like you've ever
talked to him, you.
Speaker 1 (48:32):
Know, right, So that brings us to this. So every
one of us, and we've talked about this before in
previous podcasts, we all have spiritual gifts, right, It's up
to us to figure out what that spiritual gift is.
Now we can, I believe we can evangelize in other
ways than just walking up to people and saying, well,
(48:52):
by the way, you know my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Awesome, dude.
You should get to know you can do it. If
your gift is, say, serving the community, you can do
it there. You can talk to people that you're serving
with or serving too. There is you can use your
spiritual gift, however you receive it to spread the good news.
It's it's there's a way in every gift you have
(49:13):
to spread the good news. Is it instrumental worship team
you get up there and praise and sing about Jesus,
You're telling people about Jesus three R music. I mean,
there's there's always but you've got to find that spiritual
gift and you've got to figure out how to use
it the best to advance the kingdom and to spread
the good news.
Speaker 2 (49:33):
So I'm actually going to add I'm add this into
the note so I can add it to the that
way I can add it to the podcast description. But
I think we've talked about it before. But I highly
recommend people to take a spiritual Gifts quiz anyways, but
(49:59):
I'm going to add the this to the notes. It's
just a spiritual gifts quiz. It's something that's very easy
to you know, I've done one, Chris has done one,
and I think my top three was administrative discernment and evangelism.
But I encourage you to take Spiritual Gifts Quiz. If
you're not sure what your spiritual gift is, take a quiz.
(50:20):
You might be surprised at what you get. You got
you had like craftsmanship or something.
Speaker 1 (50:24):
Right, I had craftsmanship, evangelism and some kind of service.
I need to. I need to. It's been like six months.
I should do it again.
Speaker 2 (50:36):
Yeah, I'll put that in the notes for you guys
if you want to just you know, just take quiz
and see. I mean, you never know. It might be
you might be like an encourager, you might be like
a listener. You know, there's all these different types of
gifts or whatever. So I'll put that in the notes
for you guys there.
Speaker 1 (50:53):
Yeah, it gives you like five five different It gives
you your your number one to number five on your
spiritual gifts, and you can pick any one of those.
They're all spiritual gifts. But I think I had fun
with it, dude, because it actually surprised me. When I
got the results. I was like, oh, wow, evangelism. I
don't like to talk to people. That's not me, but
apparently it is.
Speaker 2 (51:13):
Well, you know, like you said, it's like, you know,
you wouldn't think that like craftsmanship would be like a
quote unquote spiritually. I didn't think administrative was a spiritual
gift either. I was trying to see if I could
read do these often? But anyways, yeah, I put that
in the notes for you guys.
Speaker 1 (51:34):
How are we doing on time?
Speaker 2 (51:34):
Dude? Because we restarted we got like, I think ten
minutes because I think, well we were at touch over
thirty minutes or whatever was with.
Speaker 1 (51:43):
Okay, well we'll go on. So here we are, over
two thousand years later, still struggling with the same things
they struggled with with Jesus walking Earth, afraid of persecution
for proclaiming his name out loud. It's never changed, you know,
decade after decades, centrially, it has not change. It's everybody's
afraid of persecution. Why do you think that when Jesus
(52:04):
died and was placed in the tomb, the apostles scattered.
They didn't go stand up where he was crucified and
preach his name and say you don't know what you did?
And he's nope. They were gone, man, they were out
of there because they knew they were going to face persecution.
Look at was it?
Speaker 2 (52:23):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (52:23):
Look at Simon? Peter denying Christ three times? Was that Simon?
Speaker 2 (52:30):
Is that Peter? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (52:31):
It was denied Christ three times because why he was
afraid he was gonna end up right next to him
getting the same persecution. So we've got to get over
that fear, and we've got to proclaim his name because,
let me tell you, he's the only one in all
of creation that is going to help us and save
us from ourselves. Really, we've got to save ourselves from ourselves.
So what can we do, Drew? What do you think?
(52:53):
What can we do?
Speaker 2 (52:55):
Man? I have a really good feeling you're going to
tell us, and you're gonna use scripture to tell us.
Speaker 1 (53:01):
I am going to tell you Okay. So we have
Mark thirteen thirty two through thirty seven, and in this
it outlines we need to keep living how God calls
us to.
Speaker 2 (53:12):
I e.
Speaker 1 (53:13):
The Sermon on the Mount rights, that's our guidelines. Sermon
on the Mount is our guidelines. How we're supposed to
live according to him. Tell as many people as we
can about the good news, no matter how uncomfortable it is.
And you can find how to do that or about
that in Matthew ten thirty two and thirty three. And
keep our eyes fixed on Heaven waiting for his return. Right,
(53:37):
So I want to read this one.
Speaker 2 (53:39):
You put pray, pray, pray.
Speaker 1 (53:41):
Pray, pray, pray. Yes, oh yeah, pray, pray, pray, pray, pray, pray.
You got to talk to the Father. So I'm going
to read Matthew or Mark thirteen thirty two through thirty seven.
This is Jesus telling us about remaining watchful. This is
what we do. No one knows about that day or hour,
(54:02):
not even the angels in heaven nor the son, but
only the Father. Be on guard, be alert. You do
not know when that time will come. It's like a
man going away. He leaves his house and puts his
servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells
the one at the door to keep watch. Therefore, keep
watch because you do not know when the owner of
(54:23):
the house will come back, whether in the evening or
at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn.
If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.
What I say to you, I say to everyone watch.
Speaker 2 (54:39):
There's another beyond guard part.
Speaker 1 (54:43):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (54:44):
Well, especially nowadays too, man, because like we're I mean
pretty much in the end times, which granted we don't
know how long that's gonna last, but now more than
they ever, you have to stay in work period constantly
because I mean, I don't know if you've seen that
crazy dude that just popped up the other day that's
(55:06):
like basically claiming to be the Messiah. He's I forgot
his name. I'm not even to dignify his name on here,
but he's basically saying he's like, so he's Egyptian by descent,
but he's he was born in America, so he's kind
of like sort of mixed race. But he's basically saying
(55:28):
that he's the Messiah to the Christians, the Muslims, the
Jews and he's the Messiah. Jesus pointed to him, blah
blah blah, and like he's gaining a lot of traction
and a lot of ground. But like you know, and
he's just probably the first of many. But it's like
with Ai, dude, used to it was like man pictures
or a video. It didn't happen. Now you can't even
(55:50):
really trust video anymore. Like these are the most deceptive
times that we've ever had to deal with, and you
have to stand guard, be vigilant, and pay attention to
what's going on. But the only way that you're going
to know what's what is to study the word and
apply it to your life. And if you if you
(56:10):
have any questions or you're not sure, you know, if
something happens, you know, I mean yeah, like google, Like
if you're not sure what Bible verses, look up maybe
google it or looking at concordance or whatever. But you
have to compare everything the scripture. It's just if there's
the Bible says that many will be led astray and deceived,
and in times many good believers, faithful people. All my
(56:35):
TikTok algorithms is filled with deconstructionists and people walking away.
It says many will be led away from, you know,
the faith, and so you have to, like you know,
like Chris said, you got to stand guard and be
vigilant now more than ever. You have to stay in
the word or you were going to be deceived. There's
just no doubt about it. The devil is that good
(56:57):
and you don't even have to try that hard anymore.
Speaker 1 (56:59):
So let me let me ask you, all of our
listeners out there, take this and really think about it
right now, in this moment. If our Lord and Savior
came on the clouds right now, are you ready do you?
Are you excited or are you scared? If you're excited,
(57:22):
you're in a good spot. If you're excited about Man,
if I saw Jesus coming right now, I know, I'm good.
I'm I'm oh, what an amazing thing to go go
spend eternity in heaven and then here on earth with him.
I would be excited. If you're terrified or scared that
Jesus might show up tonight, you might want to do
some praying.
Speaker 2 (57:41):
The only thing that I would be disappointed about, well,
there's two things I'd be disappointed about. Jesus came back
right now. For one, I just I wanted one more
Natty with the balls, just one and more. And for two,
I would be so sad because I'd be like, oh,
I just wanted one more water burger. But other than that, dude,
I mean, you know, I go back and forth. It's like,
(58:02):
you know, I would like to see my daughters grow
old and live a you know, faithful life and see
him getting married and have kids and all that. But
at the same time, it's like, I know the other
side is going to be so great that this is
going to be It'll just be a vapor who thought.
But yeah, I'm I mean, I'm ready, I'm excited, and
(58:24):
I'm looking forward to it, you know.
Speaker 1 (58:26):
So I think that that is one of the best
ways to test your faith and where you're at with
God is to ask yourself, if Jesus came right now,
would he take me with him or would he not?
Or do I doubt it? Do I wonder if you wonder,
if you're not one hundred percent positive that you're going
to have and if Jesus came back right now, you
(58:48):
got some work to do. I am. I mean, we
all don't know how God is going to judge, but
based on how I try to live my life and
what the Bible tells me how I'm living my life.
I'm not perfect, I'm a sinner, but yeah, I'm going
to heaven. Jesus has forgiven me. I believe in him.
I proclaim him as my Lord and Savior, my Messiah,
and therefore I know all be in heaven.
Speaker 2 (59:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (59:10):
Plan simple.
Speaker 2 (59:10):
If you don't have that blissed assurance, I mean, feel
free to reach out, you know. And even if if
you've been if you've been a member for thirty years,
or you're in the praise of worshiping or on staff
at the church, you know, if you listen to that
and you're like, man, I just I don't know, I
don't feel talk to somebody, you know, don't make the chance.
Don't take the chance of getting up there in him
(59:32):
saying out turn for me. I never knew you.
Speaker 1 (59:35):
Like I said, that's one of the other ones in
there that terrifies me. I would be so I want
to get to heaven and have him look at me
and say well done, good and faithful servant. So anyways,
so now we have based building on that, We've got
Colostions three, one and two. Since then you have been
raised with Christ. Set your hearts on things above, where
(59:58):
Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set
your minds on things above, not on earthly things. That's
what we need to be focused on. We've got to
be focused on Christ. We've got to be focused on
the Kingdom. We've got to be focused on Heaven, not
focused on all of this political stuff that's going on
in our world. Not focused on all the negative and
(01:00:20):
wars and that. We can't focus on all that and
freak out. We know that God is in control all
of this stuff going on in the world. Do not
think for one minute that God doesn't have control of it,
because he does. So I don't fret about it. I
don't worry about it. I keep my eyes fixed on Heaven.
I talk with my brother Drew here, we do our
Bible studies, our podcast, and that's the way I'm going
(01:00:41):
to live out the rest of my life. If he
don't come before I die, I don't care. I'm still
living my rest of my life for him, and I
think that that's just what we all.
Speaker 2 (01:00:48):
Have to do. Don't look at the clouds, keep your
hand on the plow.
Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
That's it. That's it.
Speaker 2 (01:00:55):
So just some final thoughts as we wrap up. The
world we live in makes it very difficult to profess
our faith in Jesus without ridicule. But we must put
on the full armor of God every day. I mean,
Chris has talked about it multiple times. You got to
pick up your cross daily and follow him. If you
miss peace, it's a weak spot in your protection. So
(01:01:16):
stay in the Word every day. Listen to podcasts like
this and communicate. You know, if you don't have a Bible,
stay to go to start one. If you don't start one,
like yeah, if you don't feel like you're growing in
your church quite a different way, like get rooted somewhere
and just seize the day.
Speaker 1 (01:01:32):
So I thought that was funny. Hold on, I thought
that was funny earlier when you said, you know, you
change your hat and I was thinking full armor of God.
You got to put your full armor of God on.
And dude, I've listeners out there. I'd really like some
feedback on this. What would you think about Drew and
I doing a podcast on the full Armor of God,
what each piece represents and how we can apply it
(01:01:54):
to our life. Let me know, let us know in
the comments or chat. Yeah, let us know what you think.
I'm just that kind of hit me a little bit
earlier on the podcast. I wrote it down. That might
be a good topic for another podcast.
Speaker 2 (01:02:06):
And let us know what you think. Yeah, well, let's
know before we go. Just reminders, make sure you like, subscribe,
share this podcast. It helps us grow. You have any questions,
ideas you want to say, Hey, prayer, requiest, whatever, send
us an email at the Unreligious Podcast at gmail dot com.
YouTube has plenty of full episodes as well as the
(01:02:29):
occasional bone stuff. We are on Instagram not as active,
but Facebook's probably better to follows that actually, and then
don't forget to get that first five hundred followers. Merch.
Do you have any closing thoughts, something you want to add?
Speaker 1 (01:02:45):
Y'all should buy some of that merch because if you
do now, you're gonna be able to say you had
it before the guy who was on the podcast even
had any.
Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
June first, it will be the last time you can
buy that.
Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
So wow, I got a lot of stuff to buy
between now and then.
Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
I've got a Tumblr and a hat. I think that's
on the way there. It's delayed right now, but thank
you guys so much for tuning in today. Our prayers
that this episode has helped you feel closer to Jesus
and reminded you that hope is alive no matter where
you're at your journey, Jesus with you. He's not mad
at you. He loves you. Until next time, keep spreading
