Speaker 1 (00:13):
Welcome to the Unreligious Podcast, where every Monday we spread
the love of Jesus without judgment or by laws, focusing
solely on Jesus Christ and the Bible.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
I am Chris, I'm.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Big Drew Ski. Welcome to tonight's episode, episode episode How
was your How's your Memorial Day?

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Busy man?

Speaker 1 (00:38):
I finally finally started feeling better on Friday, stomach issues
and stuff. I went in and they lit me up
with radiation to see what's going on inside. But yeah,
I gotta procedure next next week. But yeah, feeling great,
So of course I'm feeling good, so it's time to
I had to get a bunch of yard work done,

(00:58):
and then.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
We decided to.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Go ahead and paint the whole hallway and all of
the living room, including the ceiling. So the last two
days I've been doing taping and mudding and sanding and painting,
and we finally finished up today. So it's been a
very very busy Memorial Day weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
How about you?

Speaker 3 (01:24):
H Pretty much the same?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
I see.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
So Friday night, me and my daughter had Daddy Daughters
sleep over time, which is just like the name changes
Daddy Daughter camp out, sleep over whatever. But basically we
just like go downstairs and crash and the living room
and then I'll let her like pick a movie or whatever,
and we just kind of hang out for a little while.

(01:53):
But did that Friday night. Saturday, we went up to
the campground my dad and step mall was up there
and they had a spot for the weekend. So we
pretty much went over there, you know, all pretty much
all day hung out up there.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
That was cool.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
And then Sunday church and then Dad and Stepmama still
a campground, so we went and tried a new pizza
place which has like been all the rage in and
around Knoxville, which they've been around for a little while,
but they opened up a new location closer to us.
But it's called Baker Boy and they make like you

(02:32):
know which. Their pizza was very good. It's really expensive though,
but they have like twenty eight inch pizzas, so like
literally I don't even think you can like uber these
suckers without having like a back seat. But it's like
the New York style pizza and all that. And then
they had these Montrell sticks that I don't even know
it was probably like this big or something, but that

(02:53):
was pretty good, very expensive though, so we got two
Now this is including tip, but we got two sixteen
inch pizzas that basically two Montrel sticks and three drinks.
And it was like eighty bucks.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
So that is a little pricey.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
Yeah yeah, I mean it was good.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
But it was definitely pricey. But like I said, you know,
I think we I did like a I don't know,
fifteen percent tip or something, but so did that. And
then Monday had Memorial Day off, and then we ended
up going over to my dad and stepmom's house, not
the campground house, had dinner, but it was just like
a you know, kind of a fun filled family weekend.

(03:37):
Really well, so I put it in the notes. But
Phil Robertson died, so like that was literally crushed my weekend.
He died on five, twenty five, twenty five, which anybody
who knows me, you know and has listened, like anybody
knows me personally, but anybody's listened this podcast knows that, Like,

(03:59):
you know, me and Chris both are you know, fans
of Duck Dynasty. I really never quit watching it, like
I still. The only reason I don't even watch it
as much anymore is because my wife, that was mine
and my daughter's like Saturday morning thing. Every Saturday morning
we'd wake up and I'd put Duck Dynasty on and
we just hang out for a little while. And after
a while my wife was finally like, Okay, You've got

(04:21):
to watch something else, like literally kills because I was
just burning.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
Her out on it.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
But you know, so which if you don't know who
Phil Robertson is. Phil Robertson's the guy who actually started
the company Duck Commander, which later a TV show called
Duck Dynasty was you know, started after basically that TV
after the company, and it just documented the family and
the Robertsons and then the kids have grown up now

(04:47):
said he's like a big time.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
Speaker and this whole thing.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
But yeah, that would really hurt because it was like
like he was a tight end of the faith as
it is. But just I mean, there's not ever going
to be another Phil roberts No, there will not be,
which you just found out looking at the notes right
before this.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Yeah, like listeners, I didn't even know because I've been
so busy over the weekend, like I said, you know,
working on the house painting and stuff that I'm scrolling
kind of proofreading through his notes and I'm like Phil Robertson,
I what, Andrew's like, Yeah, dude, that that saddens me.
That I mean, it saddens me. But he was such

(05:29):
a warrior for Christ, and you know where he's at now, He's,
you know, celebrating in heaven with Christ. He's he's with
the Father right now. I mean, but yeah, that was
that was sad news I did. I did not see
that coming. I didn't even I knew he was sick
like last year, but I didn't realize he had gone
down hill that bad.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Yeah, he got diagnosed with Alzheimer's and somewhere around Exember
and then I think he had a couple other you know,
just healthy is she that you know came along the way.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
But yeah, that one was rough for me because, you know,
like I said, I grew.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
When I was I don't know, like maybe that's probably
like early college ag or I might have even dropped
out of college when the show first started. But you know,
I watched it when I was younger because of the
red nick antics and the entrepreneurialism, and then when I
got a little bit older, I kind of watched it
because they were just a good example of like how
to be a you know, good while their husband, you know,

(06:30):
and obviously their faith was a big part of it,
which somewhere in between there I was kind of walking
away from my faith, but they were always kind of
a shining light, and I always looked at him as like,
you know, good Christian role models and everything. And then
you know, after I got married and had kids, then
it was like, well, it's just one of the only
shows that I can throw on the TV and I

(06:50):
don't have to keep a finger close to the mute button.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
You know.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
It was just it was good, clean humor that everybody
can enjoy and stuff, but ever.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
A good wholesome family TV show.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Yeah, but definitely prayers for that family and you know,
Fills the patriarch of that and just had an incredible testimony.
And I mean, dude's probably i mean led or shared
Jesus with. I mean, at this point, probably millions of people,
whether it's you know, in person watching the show, preaching whatever,

(07:25):
you know, kind of like a a granted this is
a weird comparison, but kind of a modern day Billy Graham,
if you will. Obviously, they are polar opposites as far
as you know what they look like and how they
conduct themselves and stuff. But I mean I would say,
like for my generation, I feel like he's like the
Billy Graham of you know, my generation or something.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
You know.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
So yeah, yeah, yeah, he was.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
He was.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
He was a warrior.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
I mean, look at look at his whole family, Look
at the legacy he's leaving, and look at all of them.
They're i mean, they're following right in suit. They're all
warriors for Christ. So he doesn't stand I think God
as a dad.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
I think for me, part of the reason why i'm
so you know, I guess hung up on that is
because you know, and I think we've talked about it
on the podcast before too, But I mean, just like,
looking at his example, I'm like, dude, that's the kind
of legacy I want to have, is like I want
to be remembered as somebody who was just like you know,

(08:24):
tightening the faith and constantly sharing you know, his testimony
and just you know, affecting people's lives and touch like.
That's that's what I want, you know, not for selfish
regions reasons, but just to have that kind of kingdom impact.
You know. Yeah, I think that's something that we should
all strive.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
For, so absolutely it is.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
I mean, if we all strive for that, it would
be a totally different world we would be looking at
right now.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Oh yeah, So, if you guys do have a question, topic, suggestion, comment,
we've actually in live streaming these less I think it's
like the third time we've actually live streamed it. But
I it literally it just helps me because I get
so behind on posting these. It's just next impossible because

(09:14):
it's like I try to post the videos and then
I try to take the videos and then pull clips
from them and then put the clips on social media
and all that, which helps drive traction to the podcast.
But it's just time is not on my side most
of the time. But we've actually been live streaming these
the last few times.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
So again, if.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Even if you see this later, feel free to comment,
and you know, like I said, we'll either respond to
them on social or we'll read them on the next
podcast or whatever. But as you guys may or may
not hop in it out. Obviously, we're gonna be chatting
and talking about the lesson and stuff. But you know,
if you guys start leading comments or whatever, we'll pick

(09:53):
some and then respond to them at the end there,
but make sure you like subscribe, share in to review
this podcast. There's four things like it. Subscribe to it,
share it with your friends or anybody that you think
needs encouragement, and review this podcast. It helps us get
the word out, but it also helps us to get ranked.

(10:15):
So if you're listening to this, I've been saying it
for weeks, literally pause this and then leave us a review.
That helps something more than you guys know. Again, we're
on Facebook YouTube and we do have some limited time
merch I keep advertising it. There's a link in the
description June first, which is I believe Sunday it goes away.

(10:37):
It's literally we're just celebrating our first five hundred listeners.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
This is well.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Actually, by the time this episode drops, if you're watching
the live stream, you still got a chance. But by
the time this episode drops, it's probably I think, yeah,
it's gonna be like a day too late and dollar short.
So other than that, anything else you wanted to add,
just catch us up on your week, anything interesting happens.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
I did have kind of a god moment. It's actually
really cool. I won't name drop on here, but I
was talking with one of my grandkids, one of the
older grandkids, and he's in a household where there's no belief,
no faith, and so my wife and I have always

(11:26):
tried to, you know, show them our side of things
and what we believe in.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
And we took them to church a few times in
Tennessee and other places.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
And I was talking to one of my grandkids and
he told me that he is attending a church all
on his own.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
He found a Methodist church.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Some of the kids he hangs out at with school
go to Wednesday night service at this Methodist church.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
And he started going and he absolutely loved it.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Okay, So dude, I mean coming, you know, being in
a home where there's no faith or belief in Jesus
Christ except for what he's seen from his nan and Papa.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
To take that and go find a church on his own.
I was so floored, man, I mean very But.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
It's kind of the ultimate compliment too. You know.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
It's like we were talking to connection group, and again
not going to name names or anything, but one of
the one of the people in my connection group was
talking about how somebody that they work with was like, oh, well,
that person's you know, just all Jesus and this and
that Jesus everything and whatever, and this person was like

(12:38):
kind of upset by that, and I was like, yeah,
but man, that's like what a compliment though, Like I
know that the person you work with didn't what didn't
mean it to be like that, but to like have
someone look at your life and basically say, oh, that
person's all about Jesus.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
No.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
Granted they might rub some the wrong way, but that's
like an ultimate compliment. But like just like for you
you for your grand you said grandson. Yeah, for your
grandson to look at like Nana and pop pop and
be like, you know, that's that's I kind of like
what they have.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
I want a little bit.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Of that, and just to take it upon himself to
be like, yeah, you know, let me try church out
because you know they you know, they've got a little
little pep in their step and they're happy and spunky
and whatever, and you know that's I mean, that's an
ultimate compliment, man.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yeah, we took it as a compliment more more than anything.
You know, Glory to God, he's working in in our family, Drew.
We're watching it happen all over the place. So we're
just gonna keep praying that he just keep drawing them
in and keep cracking those doors open and hopefully, you know,
we'll get a bunch of them to.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Open the door and receive what's there.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
Yeah, I mean, and like I said, I know we've
talked about it, but I mean, you know, it's just
like my pastor was talking about, you know, a few
weeks back. You know, he's just talking about like just
sharing your story.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
You know.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
And I know we talked about this like a couple
episodes back or something, but it was like, you know,
a lot of times we think of like evangelizing as
like you know, leading someone down the Roman road or
like you know, asking them deep theological questions. In a
lot of cases, this literally just you're letting your testimony talk.
And you know, when people there's so so much that

(14:27):
is void of light nowadays, it's like when people see
that light, it's just it's like it's intoxicating, you know. So, dude,
I think that's awesome that you know, God's working in
y'all's family. And I know you said one of your
daughters and son in law's started going to church with
you guys, and just you know, it's just all over

(14:48):
the place.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Yeah, they did. One of my nephews the same thing.
I don't know if he's more agnostic or atheists, but.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
He ended up going down to another state for a
little mini vacation with his fiance's family, and it turns
out the uncle is a pastor, and so he ended
up going to church on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
And then he called his mom. This is my oldest nephew.
He should be.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Not prop No, no, well anyway, yeah, he called and
said that he had gone to church and he asked
he had a great time, and he has intentions of
going back.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
So that's awesome.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
So yeah, dude, I mean, it's the Lord is working.
We just keep praying.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
We just keep trying to do this podcast to keep
telling people what we know, answer any questions from family
members or friends who are unsure about stuff the best
we can.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
We just do what we can.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Yeah, man, I went ahead and kind of added to
your family to the prayer request on there as well,
or you know, just just by put your family, God's
working their lives being changed. I'm trying to think, I don't.
I think I'm essentially there's not any pressing prayer requests

(16:11):
right now. Honestly, here lately, like God's just been working
and it's like, you know, might have a new email
list client that I'm you know, might be doing an
email list for whatever, you know. But just I've just
things are just good, you know, and so I'm just

(16:33):
you know, thankful. I guess I'll put you know, just
blessings and praise just for me personally. Sorry. Me and
Chris are update notes as we go. Uh, I'm so
add that. Like when it comes to prayer requests, I
have to write them down or I'll forgive them. And
then Chris is the same way.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
So I've started writing them down here.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Well, do you you want to pray us in?

Speaker 2 (17:00):
You want me to or leave us? My turn? The
sounds good, so I'll get us in.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Okay we read here we go, Oh Father, God Lord, Jesus,
thank you so much. Thank you for a beautiful day today,
sunshining birds, chirping, spring is here well for us, bring
us here summer for most people.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
But we're just so grateful.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
We're grateful for the beauty that you allow us to
see every day that You've created. We thank you for
our loved ones, thank you for our faith. We thank
you for Jesus thank you for everybot you You are
the ultimate creator.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
You provide for everybody. Father.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
I just want to thank you tonight for my health.
Prayers have been working, Father, I know you hear them,
and I'm on the road to recover.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
Father.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
I prae you just continue me down that road of
recovery and no mortgage. Father.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
I also want to pray our house of Portugal, your
will be done, Father, where we can't continue to be
stressed about it. We know your your timing is there.
We know you're you're setting everything up. So I just
pray for patience and perseverance.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
Father. I want to thank you so much for the family.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
We see you working miracles and wonders in this family, Father,
and we're eternally grateful for that. People that we weren't
sure if if if they were going to be able
to come around or not. Father, we know that through you,
all things are possible. There's nothing you can't So thank you, Father,

(18:49):
Thank you for the blessings with the family, and I
pray that you just continue to draw me in and
draw everybody.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
Father, who's who's warnerful?

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Father, I just want to pray for Drew blessings and
praise that he's in a good spot right now and
that he's not finding himself in need of much. But
we still pray, Father, that you pour your grace and
mercy out on him, as well as financial blessings.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
The great man Father, he loves you so much, does
so much work for you. Father.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
I want to pray for the couple from our church,
the Horn couple and their daughter their pillars in our
church community and they were tragically taken from us last night.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
Small group leaders.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
They the parents didn't make it, but the twenty two
year old daughter did, Father, and we just pray that
you're with her, that you feel her, that you pray,
pray that you put your hands on her and let
her come out of this okay and then help her
with the mental anguish father of losing her parents. Father,
I just pray here with that whole family, this is
a very difficult time. This is this is a true

(20:04):
test of fate. So Father, I just pray that they
persevere her, they lean on you, and the family is
able to get through this.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
And I pray that that the couple are in heaven
with your father. They they have to be, they were
the father. We pray all this and you're precious in
his name, We thank you for the podcast and all
that you do.

Speaker 5 (20:28):
Yeah, situations like that, man is, you know, situations like
that is tough because it's like, you know, when stuff
like that happens, it's it's hard to see, you know,
the end game and it's hard to see God's plan,
and it's it's so difficult like in the meantime when

(20:51):
you're dealing with stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
But you know, oftentimes Tom he'll's wounds, but you know,
it's just it doesn't make it easy, you know, in
the moment, and you know, it's one of those situations
where it's like, you know, we don't know why God
does certain things a certain way, and we don't know
why you know, outcomes happen like that.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
But it's just like, you know, well, I think, well
I got this news literally, like right before I came
in here and sat down to do this podcast, I
got the news. I didn't know them personally. We haven't
been back in the church here, back in Sheboegen long enough,
but I still for me people, Oh, why would God

(21:36):
do that? Why would God take them away? I mean,
we don't we don't know, Drew, and we it's not
our place to question God. He's the ultimate authority and
his his justice is always right.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
And you know.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
They're in heaven with him.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
And I don't believe it was God let that happen
to them. What I believe is it was free will.
And the person who crossed over or God on the
interstate going the wrong way and drove into them head on,
that was free will. Now, if if God was to
intervene in all of our lives, every second of every

(22:13):
day to make sure nothing ever happened to us, well,
nobody would ever have anything happen to them, right, So
it's not a matter of God's allowing it. It's a
matter of other people are doing it because it's free
will and he can't control. He could, but he chooses
not to control every minute of our lives, and tragically
things happen, and he knows that. That's why I think

(22:35):
ultimately our hearts need to be set on Christ.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
So when instances like that happen, when it's sudden and
you're taken, you know where you're going.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
Yeah, and it's just you know, yet another reminder too,
when these things happen, it's like, you know, we're not
gonna last forever. You know, Tom is but a vapor,
and I think now now, you know, more so than ever,
I think it's more important to you know, try to

(23:04):
you know, live a godly life. And that's basically what
we're talking about. I guess it's the best you know,
segue that we can technically have. But you know, we're
talking about how to keep your fire lit. This is
part three and you know, I think there's a lot
of people that deals with this. Me and Chris have
really enjoyed this, this series that we're doing because I

(23:24):
just I think it's very relatable to most people. At
some point, you know, pretty much everybody has been on fire,
and then you've been not on fire. And then there's
some people that, like we talked about last week, you're like,
I've just never really had that fire, Like what's wrong
with me? And it's like, well, you got to go
back to you know, did you ever have that spark?

(23:44):
So just to recap you guys, again, I'm drawing parallels
between an actual little literal fire and a spiritual fire,
like I'm comparing the two. So just to recap. In
order to have a fire, you a the first thing
is you have to have a need or an openness
to you know, or want to build a fire. The

(24:06):
spiritual comparison is, you know, you have to be open
to even receiving God in the first place. If there's
no need or willingness to build a fire, there's no
need or willingness to even be open to God, then
of course you know you're not ever.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
Gonna have a fire. He's not ever gonna work your life.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
The second thing is every fire has to have a
spark or heat source. The comparison for the spiritual walk
is that spark is your spiritual conviction, your first encounter
with Jesus. You know, that's when essentially your Christian want
first starts, when that conviction, you know, the Holy Spirit
takes over and you first have that first initial spark

(24:45):
that encounter. Some people will either will like lean into
that and blow that and.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
Start the fire.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
Other people will try to walk away, they're like, oh no,
you know, I don't want to be convicted. But the
third thing is your actual flame, which the the you know,
the literal sense is the actual flame of the fire.
The spiritual sense is the flame is your your Christian walk.
You know, that's when you look at a fire, the

(25:14):
flame is the one thing that you can see, right,
so we kind of compared that to fruit and you know,
faith without works being dead. And then the last thing
that we went over was the environment, aka your surroundings.
If you build your fire outside, is a storm coming,
is it about to rain? Do you have shelter? If
you build it inside you have a fireplace, you're gonna

(25:36):
burn the house down. So just like the environment of
your fire is important, the environment of your Christian walk
is important. You might have to change things. You know,
some places that you go so people gang out with
music that you listen to. And so that's just the
first four things that we went over tonight. We're getting
into the fifth thing, which is fuel.

Speaker 4 (25:56):
This is kind of the fun one, I guess to
talk about.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
But you know when you when you build a fire,
it's like, Okay, you needed to build a fire, so
you got your spark, that spark turned into a flame,
you got your environment. Said everything's good.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Now.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
In order, you know, like we talked about with your
Christian walk, your flame to keep it lit, you have
to have fuel. And we're not talking about like gasoline
or diesel or anything like that. We're talking about what
you put into that fire to keep it rolling. So
your fuel is just basically the tools that you use
to keep your fire going. You know, a literal fire,

(26:33):
you might throw some small sticks in it first, and
you're gonna work your way at the bigger logs. Obviously,
the bigger logs and you know whatever the bigger the fire.

Speaker 4 (26:42):
Is gonna get.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
But your spiritual fuel is like God's word, righteous living,
your your relationship with God, worship. We're gonna get into
all that. But the fire analogy is fuel, like wood
or coal, is a substance of fire consumes to keep burning.
With that up the fuel, the fire is going to die.

(27:03):
Not all fuel burns the same. Some as long lasting
and clean. Other types are weak, smoky, or toxic. I
hate when you know you're at a bonfire and people
just keep hitting it with like lighter fluid. It's like, dude,
you're making the whole area stink. Bro Like, just throw
like logs and wood and you know whatever on it's
keep it, you know, burning naturally. But the spiritual application

(27:26):
is God's Word is our primary fuel, right, the entire
relationship with Him is what sustains the flame. If you
want to get closer to God. Uh, you got to
read your work. I mean, your Bible is your primary
source of fuel. That's where you're going to get. You know,
pretty much all of your answers can be answered, but

(27:46):
you're gonna get inspiration. That's you know. I think that
like the Bible is like still a supernatural book to
where you know, you can read it today and it's
like you can read the same passage one hundred times
and ninety nine different times, you might get something different
out of it. So, but you know, God's word is

(28:07):
what feeds your spirit, Its strengthens your faith, gives you
clear direction. Living righteously removes the kindling of sin and compromise,
so that your fire burns clean and bright. Without spiritual fuel,
your fire will smoder and fade. Some other types of
fuel then I'm going to get Chris's input, but some

(28:30):
other types of fuel as well. The Word of God,
like we said, is your scripture. That's your foundation. Your
true prayer, consistent conversation with God keeps your fire alive.
You're literally keeping that relationship. Going worship. Worship fans the
flame through reverence and adoration, fasting. That's another type of fuel.
That you can use if you're going through a difficult,

(28:52):
deep dark time, or you're just going through the changing
of a season you're not.

Speaker 4 (28:56):
Sure what to do.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
Bible talks about fasting that sharp your focus on God
and your dependence on him, obedience, walking in God's will
bring spiritual strength, righteous living, evangelism and testimony pouring out
into others. And then you know, obviously your actual relationship
with God, that's the source of it all. You can't

(29:19):
stay on fire for someone that you just plain never
spend time with. Those are just some general examples of fuel.
But Chris, I want to get your take anything that
you think I might have left off for just things
that jump out to you when we're talking about fuel.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
I think you've covered it pretty good. All I would
say is, yeah, I see the reference up here. It
keeps long lasting, clean, smokey, or toxic. And I wrote
down some military So I guess what you could ask
yourself is.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
What are you burning? Is what you're burning? Is that
flame pure? Is that flame clean?

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Or is the stuff that you're trying to throw on
top of that flame dirty or old or trash or
and you're trying to make this beautiful flame but you
keep piling on this garbage fuel for it, and it's
just smoldering. It never really ignites, it never really gets
that good flame, clean flame going. So I guess you

(30:27):
could ask yourself, Okay, I've got the fire or I've
got the coals.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
I've got everything I need.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
I've got a fire going, but it keeps smoldering. I
just don't feel that burning, bright fire inside of me. Well,
what are you feeding your fire?

Speaker 2 (30:43):
Are you doing?

Speaker 1 (30:44):
Like Drew said, are you into your scripture every day,
reading your Bible? That's fuel right there, and it's not
just fuel, but it educates you about your creator.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
I mean, what work could you want? Prayer?

Speaker 4 (30:59):
You know?

Speaker 2 (30:59):
For me, when I think the prayer and I think
about the fire, I think.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
About as it's glowing and the embers are there, but
it's not quite ignited.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
You breathe on it, you blow on it.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
As you're blowing on those embers, they start getting brighter
until they unite into flame. For me, that breath is
your breath talking to God that fans your flame as
well fans those coals, keeps that fire burning. All of
these that Drew put are excellent, excellent things that you
got to have in.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
Your woodshed, so to speak. You got to have these
things to be.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
Able to burn these to get that clean fire, because
if you don't, the more pornography, the more cussing, the
more road rage, the more resentment or jealousy towards other people,
that's all bad mule that you're putting on that fire,
and it's not helping it. It's actually extinguishing it. You

(31:57):
don't even realize it until it smolders in it steaks.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
I mean, that's all ill.

Speaker 4 (32:02):
I think that's I mean, yeah, that's a good point.

Speaker 3 (32:04):
Like even back when we used to work at the
truck driving school, dude, like you know, get this fire
and get you know, I was always big on you know,
I didn't want to use like now, granted, there's sometimes dude,
if it's like dead of winter and like the woods
kind of wet and you know, you don't have the
best tools to start with and stuff, like there's.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
Time we never had that problem, but.

Speaker 3 (32:28):
It's like, you know, but it's like there's times where
you know, yeah, you might have to use a little
wider fluid or a little this, or but like I
always tried to build just a natural fire where it's like, okay,
let me go get some moss or some whatever. Let
me get that burning a little bit, and okay, let
me throw some twigs on. Let me throw some sticks on,

(32:49):
some uh bigger sticks, and work my way up to
like actual logs and just build it natural. But there
was always It's like you go walk out to the
trucks or something thing, you know, and you'd have, you know,
you'd have like some you know, student or whatever would
throw like you know, oh, nevermind, sorry, I thought you

(33:13):
were frozen for a second. You'd have the students would
be throwing like, you know, illuminum cans and plastic bottles
and you know just what it. They'd literally just be
throwing trash and stuff in there. And then it's like
the fire would smell so bad that you couldn't even
be around it. And it's like, dude, I'm ice cold

(33:33):
right now, but that fire smells so bad because you
guys are literally throwing trash in there. You know that
it Like you said, it's like, yeah, you can just
throw random garbage in there and keep your fire burning.
But again, that flame, like we talked about last week,
is your Christian walk. So that's what people can see too,

(33:55):
like right, like, the flame is the one part of
the fire you can see. You can't always see the oxygen.
And then once the fire is going, you know, you
don't see the initial spark because that's what you got
to use the fire. But it's like the fire when
you walk up, that's the one thing that you can see.
And you know, if you're just feeding your flame, like

(34:16):
Chris said, with just absolute garbage, like dude, you know
it's burning, but like what kind of fire you building?

Speaker 4 (34:24):
You know?

Speaker 3 (34:25):
And I think also it's important to remember, like you know,
and I didn't even really put this in the notes,
but like one of the most important things about building
the fire is the preparation before I really probably should
have added that, but like, but before that's okay, before

(34:46):
you build a fire, you want to have your fire starter,
you want to have your candle, and you want to
have all that stuff set up so that you can
feed that fire and you can keep it going. And
I think, you know, when it comes to like, you
don't want to just have just one log. And like

(35:07):
worship I think is probably closer to like lighter fluid.
You can go to a praising worship song and it's
just like you know, the church praising worship, it's like
lighter fluid, right, it's just like bang, instantaneous. You're caught
up emotionally. And worship is awesome. Listening to Christian radio
and music and stuff is awesome. But like, you can't

(35:30):
sustain a fire just on lighter fluid. I mean you can,
it'll keep burning, and it's a real awesome way to
hit it with just a real quick burst. But you've
got to have actual logs, and the more logs the better.
And so, you know, as great as praise and worship is,
a lot of times we just go to church praise

(35:51):
and worship, we'll get a little couple of sticks where
the people, you know, preacher will drop us, you know,
he'll he'll do a sermon. We'll get a stick or
two to throw in there, and then it's just like okay,
I'm good till you know whenever. And a lot of times,
you know, we worship, you know, the Christian music radio
stations more than we do God itself. We get caught

(36:11):
up in the emotional release that we get from praise
and worship music. But you've got to actually throw logs
on your fire. Different logs or prayer, you know, again
talking to God, having an actual relationship, reading the word.
Those are a long, burning, sustaining logs that you can
throw onto you know, your your fire, going to church,

(36:36):
getting into small group, getting connected with people that you know.
I think that that's all all kind of part of it.
But you know, Chris is right, like, you can't just yeah,
you can keep your fire burning by throwing trash, you it,
but what kind of fire are you building?

Speaker 4 (36:50):
You know?

Speaker 2 (36:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (36:52):
And then if you think nobody go a little bit deeper.
You could really use this analogy through think about your
your your how do I put it? Your new walk
with price? Okay, you're a new Christian, right, you're just
starting to discover things. You're just starting to figure things out.
So basically, you've got the kindling, right, and you've got

(37:15):
the small kindling in there, and you start you're trying
to light that little fire, just kind of see what
it's like. And then after you get that fire lit
with that kindling and you start feeding it this fuel
that Drew has talked about, Well, as it starts to
get bigger and bigger, you can start putting bigger logs
on it, which means you can start understanding the Bible more,

(37:37):
you can start understanding what your pastor is talking about
up on the stage. And with all this fuel, you
got to remember you can't take, you know, a handful
of little sticks that are on fire and throw a
gigantic log on it.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
That's not going to burn.

Speaker 1 (37:52):
So it's kind of baby steps with how you add
to that that fuel to that fire as well. You
don't want to bite off too much because you're just
gonna burn out. It's going to just go out, So
you want to take little bites. So if you're new
to this thing, don't try to bite off too much.
Just try to get a little bit of a time
until you start comprehending, and then start feeding that fire.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
A little more, little more, little more, little more till
you have it rory and you can handle some big
stuff like theology.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
Yeah, I mean, that's perfect analogy. Your relationship with God
is the ultimate fuel source. Fires don't burn from a
single spark, they burn through constant connection. When you walk
closely with God daily, your flame will stay strong. Here's
some verses. Just listen along, don't worry about it. We're

(38:38):
going to put them in the notes. The description of
the episode, so you can go down there and read
some of these. But Matthew four to four. But he
answered and said is written. Man shall not live by
bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the
mouth of God. Psalm one nineteen one oh five. Your
word is a lmp to my feet and a light

(38:59):
to my path two Timothy three, sixteen through seventeen. All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable,
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for construction, and righteousness,
that the Man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped
for every good work Romans twelve one through two. I

(39:22):
beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that
you present your body as a living sacrifice, holy acceptable
to God, which is your reasonable service, Which is your
reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that

(39:42):
you may prove what is good acceptable in the perfect
will of God. I mean, you know, I'm gonna probably
throw some James in their little bit. You.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
If we ever do an episode that doesn't have some
kind of James in it, we're doing something wrong.

Speaker 3 (39:57):
James for a draw near to God, and he will
draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and
purify your hearts. You double minded, But that part, draw
near to God, and He will draw near to you.
It's a relationship. A lot of us ask like, oh God,

(40:17):
why me?

Speaker 4 (40:18):
Why am I not getting the job in the house?

Speaker 3 (40:21):
And why may not get you know, And it's not
about it's not about like the prosperity gospel. But it's
like so often you know, and I've used this analogy before,
but God is literally like a radio station. He never
shuts off. It's just we have to tune in. Like literally,
your favorite radio station right now is playing. They don't

(40:42):
shut down most of the times.

Speaker 4 (40:44):
Sometimes they'll do maintenance.

Speaker 3 (40:45):
But like your Christian radio station you love, it's playing
right now. It's just you're not tuned in. Like literally,
you just have to tune in. And a lot of
times we literally just don't draw in to God. We
don't pray to him, we don't talk to him, we
don't read his word. We wonder why you know our
life isn't anointed? We wonder why you know we're we're

(41:09):
not hearing from God and we're not seeing opportunities, and
it's like, you know, our faith without works is dead, right,
It's like our faith is dead. Well nine times out
of ten, he's just sitting there, Like, dude, I said,
I'd even neither leave you nor forsake you. It's like,
and you know, we just go on about our lives
and we literally just don't tap into him. But that

(41:31):
part that draw near to God and He will draw
near to you. I think it's so so true, you know.

Speaker 1 (41:40):
Yeah, Well, the way I look at it, this fire
that we have as Christians, right through it can it
seems like it fades or goes out so fast, like
the just give it two weeks of not reading your Bible,

(42:02):
give it two weeks of giving in to your human nature,
give it two weeks of going back to just cussing
whenever you feel like it or whatever. I'm telling you.
It happens so fast. That fire can go out so
fast if you don't keep it fed. And that is
what Drew and I are trying to get the point
we're trying to get across, is this is something that

(42:24):
it's not a fire that you can just go walk
away from for a few days and go back and
feed it a little bit and walk away. This is
a fire that's got to be fed every day because
the enemy wants nothing more than to extinguish that fire,
and that is his goal in life. And the minute
you let your guard down, he's throwing water on it.
Well that's and next thing you know, you're walking down

(42:46):
a path that is not with thee.

Speaker 3 (42:47):
It's like a you know, I was saying last week
even you know, I quoted Keith Boggs, but I'm pretty
sure he's quoting somebody else, but I don't remember.

Speaker 4 (42:54):
Who he quoted.

Speaker 3 (42:55):
So but you know, he basically says, you know, if
the devil can't make you a bad man, he's going
to make you a busy man. And a lot of
times it's literally just distraction, Like you know, we're so
on fire for God, and we're just like living in
the moment, and you know, we're caught up in his
presence and then it's like the water heater breaks and

(43:18):
then all of a sudden, it's like, oh wait, hold on, God,
let me move you over here for a second. I've
got some real world stuff to deal with it, you know,
or you know, we're just caught up at the moment
we're worshiping and we're just driving down the road, no
hands on the wheel, and it's like we get a
flat tire.

Speaker 4 (43:32):
Then all of a.

Speaker 3 (43:32):
Sudden, it's like, dude, what the crab?

Speaker 2 (43:35):
Why is this?

Speaker 3 (43:36):
And then it's like immediately, you know, we're not thinking, hey,
maybe I need to witness to the tow truck driver,
or you know, hey, when the guy comes fixing my
water heater, maybe I'm supposed to witness it. Like we
don't think about God's will a lot of the times.
We just look at the things that happen that like,
you know, are unfortunate, that inconvenience our day, and it's

(43:56):
like we're just so on fire until somebody cuts us off.
Most of my analogies have to do with driving, because
that's when my faith has tested the most. But I
literally drive six hours a day for work. But it's like,
you know, we have all these things, and then it's like,
you know, we're in line at Walmart and somebody cuts
in front of us or you know whatever, and it's

(44:17):
like we're so on fire until we're inconvenience, and then
all of a sudden, it's like, oh, well, let me
just put God to the side for a.

Speaker 2 (44:23):
Minute, you know, right, Yeah, I mean that it seems
like our lives can get so hectic and so busy.

Speaker 1 (44:37):
That it's a shame because it almost makes it hard
to constantly feed that fire because we've got so much
other stuff going on.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
And sometimes you know as well as I do, that
sometimes it is just.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
Sheer chaos in your life at times, and to try
to find a way to feed that fire during those
times of chaos is the most challenging.

Speaker 2 (45:00):
And that's when that's when the devil's looking to douse
your fire. Is when you're in case and you're not
focused on him.

Speaker 1 (45:09):
You're focused on things of the world and what's going
on in your life and not the spiritual, and that's
when that fire is going to get dim and and
you've got to go back to working at trying to
get the spark again and get the fuel going again,
and get the flame going again and then feed it again.
And it's just so much harder to get back to
having the flame as it is to just keep the

(45:31):
plane earth.

Speaker 3 (45:32):
And that's perfect segue into the next portion of the notes,
the application you have to make time with God a
daily non negotiable. I actually added this in just now
because it dawned on me again. I think it was
like two weeks ago. In connection group, Dave, my teacher,

(45:54):
brought up a good point and he was basically talking
about first fruits, meaning like he was like, we need
to as soon as I've tried so hard, But dude,
I am non morn in person. I get up ridiculously early.
But he was talking about how if you will roll
over and make it a point to immediately roll over,

(46:15):
pray to God, read your Bible, have a devotional, if
you will just literally intentionally give God the first fruits
of your day, he was talking about that the impacts
of it will be long lasting even after that. And
it's something I've tried my hardest to implement. It's very
hard for me to get into a different routine because

(46:36):
I'm really stuck on my routine.

Speaker 4 (46:38):
But you know, he's talking about how like a lot
of times we're like, oh, well.

Speaker 3 (46:42):
You know, I'll read my Bible later, or oh well,
I meant to do this, but I ran out of time,
or oh He's like, if you just give God the
first fruits, give God the first fruits of your day,
your time, your thoughts, give him first fruits of your paycheck,
first fruits of everything. You're literally putting him first. And
it's not like a prosperity gospel thing, but it's just

(47:05):
he will bless it and he'll bless you because it's
like you're literally giving him the first of everything, which
I thought was something really impactful and that kind of
stuck with me, and like I said, I've tried my
hardest to implement it, but dude, when I roll over,
I'm like, I'm I'm scrolling on my phone, trying to
wake up or whatever. But some other things. Let his

(47:28):
word fuel you and live in obedience and holiness, practice
spiritual disciplines that draw you closer to him. Stay aware
of what fuels you.

Speaker 4 (47:39):
Is it God or is it the world?

Speaker 2 (47:41):
You got to protect it.

Speaker 3 (47:43):
Any thoughts on the application.

Speaker 1 (47:46):
No, I think you absolutely nailed the application for it.
I think the only thing I would say is if
you wanted to break it down issues to fuel, Like
a certain issue in your life is starting to douse
your fire?

Speaker 2 (48:07):
What log do you need to use? Do you need
to use prayer?

Speaker 1 (48:13):
Kind of kind of pick and choose, like make a
list of like logs, so like hypothetical logs that you
want to put on the fire. If you feel that
part of your fire is starting to burn out, you
need to feed.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
At that log is the only thing I would add.

Speaker 3 (48:27):
Yeah, I mean, I think that's a great point because
I mean, like you said, I think you can't just
live on just praising worship blown. I think you you know,
can't live just on I mean, I guess you could
technically live on just the Word alone, like just the
Bibles enough, but praise and worship is another intimate thing,
you know, Prayer like it's all these different logs that

(48:49):
help you build your fire.

Speaker 2 (48:51):
Yeah, like you go, you know what, I'm noticing that
I'm starting to have some difficulties in my life in
this area. But you know what, I realized, I haven't
I haven't been praying much lately. Okay, I need to
throw the prayer log on. I need to really get
back to praying. I need to relight that part of
that Bob.

Speaker 3 (49:11):
Yeah, And like you said, I mean, it seems like
prayer is one that a lot of people overlook because
in my head, it's like it's almost like okay, I
know God knows my thoughts, but still it's kind of
like my wife knows that I love her, doesn't mean
that that gives me the right to never say it,
Like I should still say it even though she knows

(49:33):
I love her.

Speaker 4 (49:34):
I should still.

Speaker 3 (49:34):
Say it to her and have that closeness, that intimacy,
you know, and actually vocalize it, because that's what helps
build the relationship.

Speaker 2 (49:44):
Yeah, the confirmation.

Speaker 1 (49:45):
It's one thing to know somebody knows loves you, but
it's another thing to actually hear them tell you that,
because that that's the connection.

Speaker 2 (49:52):
That's the Now I've heard it from you. I know
it's not just me. I know you feel that way.

Speaker 3 (49:57):
Yeah, we're given given love advice. We're going all all
the way, so we're not gonna have time to get
all the way through the next one, but I'm just
gonna teed it up a little bit.

Speaker 4 (50:07):
And then we'll kind of leave off of this.

Speaker 3 (50:09):
But number six is oxygen. The three things that every
fire has to have spark, slash, heat, source fuel, which
we just went over. Oxygen. Every fire has to have oxygen,
otherwise it's just gonna smolder out, it's gonna die. So
I'm comparing the oxygen of the fire, like Chris was

(50:30):
talking about earlier, is. You know, you have to breathe
into that fire. But I'm also kind of comparing the
oxygen to the breath of God and the Holy Spirit.
The fire analogy is, a fire can't burn without oxygen.
Even a strong flame, as strong as it is well
suffocate and die if it's cut off from fresh air.

Speaker 4 (50:51):
It has to have oxygen.

Speaker 3 (50:53):
Sometimes all smoldering fire needs is a breath of wind
to burst it back into more. Like Chris said earlier,
if you just give a little, you know, you get
a fire that's going out, you breathe on it, it's
gonna immediately.

Speaker 4 (51:07):
Kick back up.

Speaker 3 (51:08):
You know, you still gotta have fuel to put onto it,
but without oxygen, it's gonna die. The spiritual application is
the Holy Spirit is the breath of your spiritual life.
It brings conviction, comfort, wisdom, power, and it gives you life.
Without it, your spiritual fire goes with God. You are alive, strong,

(51:31):
and a burning light for Jesus. When you walk closely
with God, breathing in His spirit through prayer, worship, surrender,
your fire is sustained. Just like lungs need air, just
like a fire needs oxygen, your soul needs the Holy
Spirit's presence daily, and again these are kind of interchangeable.

(51:55):
But that oxygen, that spirit, that holy goes, that God's presence,
that comes from you feeding that fuel, the correct fuel,
that clean fuel into the fire. But you have to
have that that oxygen that that you know, daily walk
with God, like we said, that breath of spiritual life,

(52:18):
that closeness, you know, it's it's it's just like you know,
I mean Christoph talking about our wives. You know, if
you've ever just been close with your wife in the
same room and like just you just get the you know,
glovey dobies and the warm fuzzies, or you start thinking
about how much you love your wife or whatever. It's
just it's that spiritual aspect of it.

Speaker 4 (52:38):
Thoughts.

Speaker 2 (52:41):
Yeah, the Holy Spirit.

Speaker 1 (52:44):
You know, we've got the Trinity of the Father's Son,
the Holy Ghost, and without one of those, you don't
have any of them.

Speaker 2 (52:53):
And so I truly believe that you're right.

Speaker 1 (52:56):
The Holy Spirit is that breath, that oxygen that that
fire needs to survive, because the Holy Spirit is what
tells us right from wrong. It tells us there is
a God that's a conscience knowing we know there's something
other than us out there. So I think that the
Holy Spirit feeds that fire. And if you don't invite

(53:19):
that Holy Spirit into your life, like I said, it's
a trifecta. It's Jesus, it's God, it's the Holy Spirit.
If you cut any one of those three out, you
lose the other two. So if you don't use that
Holy Spirit, if you don't call on that Holy Spirit
that dwells within you to feed that fire, it's.

Speaker 2 (53:37):
Not gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (53:38):
Well.

Speaker 3 (53:38):
Yeah, and also it's gonna be really hard for it's
gonna be really hard for you to make any kind
of kingdom impact as well. Like I mean, if there's
ever been a time where again you get a flat
tire or whatever happens, happens and in the back of

(53:59):
your mind, you like, you know, I don't know why,
but I'm gonna ask this person that you go to church,
you where around here or whatever. You know, there's times
where God will speak to you in certain instances and
lead you into certain situations. That's for the greater good.
But you know, like you said, a lot of times
men like it's like, you know, there's a lot of

(54:22):
Christians and I guess like so I talk about Baptists
because like, you know, I grew up like foundationally Baptists
still go to a Baptist church and all that, but
it's like Baptists are kind of bad about Like they'll
have really good theology a lot of the times, and
it's like they check a lot of the boxes of

(54:43):
like things you should do, you shouldn't do, whatever. But
when it when it comes to the spiritual element though,
the Holy Spirit, during praise and worship, it's like hands
in her pockets, don't get too excited, don't sing too loud.
You know, it's like we're sitting here like you know,
just kind of humming along or whatever. Or you know,

(55:04):
a lot of times, like you know, Baptist, I guess
you could technically say Protestant maybe in general, but like
you know, when the Holy Ghost and the Spirit starts
moving and you can feel people getting shaken up out
of their chairs and whatever, a lot of times people
get uncomfortable with that. It's like, you know, when a
prayer service breaks out.

Speaker 4 (55:25):
It's like people are like, oh, dude, what are you doing?
Like KFC is gonna be packed, and you.

Speaker 3 (55:29):
Know, it's like we have all the right boxes, but
we literally it's like we keep it right in this
snug little neat box. And dude, it's like my pastor says, Dude,
the Holy Spirit will wreck a bulletin in a heartbeat,
you know. Like and it's like when when God comes in,
it takes over and he shakes you from your foundation.

(55:50):
A lot of times we literally we're like, Okay, I
got my spark, I got my flame, I got my fuel.
I just want to keep it right here, but we
don't want to let that Holy Spirit come in and
knock us out of comfort zone. And dude, his way
is always going to be so much better than ours.
It's you know, if we just let go of how

(56:11):
we think it should go and let the Holy Spirit work,
it's it's always for the greater.

Speaker 2 (56:16):
Good, you know. Yeah, I I mean I can tell you.

Speaker 1 (56:22):
I don't know if I can't speak for anybody else,
I know I can speak for you because I know
you've experienced it. You know, you're you're in You're in worship,
right and they start playing that first song and it
like is one of your favorites, and all of a sudden,
the whole house starts rocking and you start seeing hands
go up and you start seeing other hands go up

(56:43):
and you.

Speaker 2 (56:44):
Can feel people. Let me tell you that is the
Holy Spirit not not fanning that fire. He's dumping fuel
on that fire. Man.

Speaker 1 (56:53):
We're all getting worked up and those fires are so
bright in there. And that's what we're talking about. The
Holy Spirit that I mean, right now, I got goose bump.
That's the Holy Spirit telling me I'm on the right track.

Speaker 3 (57:04):
Yeah. I mean, like you said, dude, when he comes
in and takes over, you can feel it, and it's
completely unmistakable, like there is no you know there, there's
no there's nothing like it but it when God. But
when God starts to work like that, dude, and the
Holy Spirit kicks in, I mean it makes a lot

(57:24):
of people feel uncomfortable.

Speaker 4 (57:25):
Because they're like, I don't really know, I don't know
show like I don't know this. You know.

Speaker 3 (57:32):
It's like, oh, well, we don't usually do this, and like,
you know, and that's like one of my favorite things, dude,
is like when you know, a pastor somebody hops up
and he's like, you know, I just really feel like
we should open up the altar, you know, or I
just feel like and then it's like in that moment
when God takes over.

Speaker 4 (57:49):
It's like there's nothing else you can do about it,
you know.

Speaker 2 (57:53):
Yeah, I know, so, like I said.

Speaker 4 (57:59):
The notes, but.

Speaker 3 (58:02):
You know, I kind of knew we weren't gonna get
all the way through oxygen. We'll pick back up with
oxygen next week, just to give you guys a little
bit of a heads up.

Speaker 4 (58:11):
You know, we're gonna be talking.

Speaker 3 (58:13):
We're basically gonna finish up with vigilance discipline, and we'll
probably hashback over some other stuff, other stuff we might
have forgot or whatever. But again, I hope that you
guys are getting as much out of this as you can.
I know, me and Chris are enjoying every minute of it.

(58:33):
I mean, this has been a really good I'm not
just saying it because like it was technically my topic.
It's just I feel like we just this here is
like something that's so applicable, and I just feel like
just I mean, even you know, Chris gave amazing input
on this as well. It's just this is one that
we both have dealt with, and this is one that

(58:54):
a lot of people deal with, and so I just
I think that this has been you know, I was
even going back and relistening to the other two episodes
we did, It's like this one's.

Speaker 4 (59:03):
Been right on the money.

Speaker 1 (59:06):
I think this series right here that you put together,
this might be one of our best get dude, this
was This has been a good one because there's just
so much substance to it. There's so much meat on
the bone there to dissect about. You know, where we
need to be with our fires because that is that
That's the whole thing, dude.

Speaker 2 (59:23):
I mean, you nail that. You got to keep the fire. Liquors.

Speaker 1 (59:25):
Without the fire, you have darkness, you have cold, you
have wet, you have uncomfortable, you have scary.

Speaker 2 (59:33):
You gotta you gotta have light, you gotta have one.

Speaker 3 (59:36):
The last thing that I want is to have a
faith and hit you know.

Speaker 2 (59:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (59:43):
So that's essentially all that I have as far as
the notes goes this week. Any final closing thoughts.

Speaker 2 (59:52):
I would just.

Speaker 1 (59:54):
Tell our listeners that pay attention to your fire. It
is some thing that needs attention all the time. It
is not something that you can leave for a week
or two and kind of come back to. You can,
but it's gonna be that much harder to get the
fire going again, like I said, or to get it
stoked back up where it needs to be. So I

(01:00:15):
would just advise all our listeners keep the fire burnt.
It's the minute you start feeling a little bit cold
towards God or like not into the Bible, that's a
red flag. You need to figure out what log you
need to put on, and you need to put it on.
You need to burn it, get that fire going, because
the enemy is just waiting in the darkness to pounce
on you.

Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
The minute you get a little cold.

Speaker 4 (01:00:35):
You gotta have that sense of urgency.

Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
Nobody is going to protect your fire but you. So
I hope you guys have enjoyed this episode again, the
s Part three next week will be or yeah, this
part three. Next week will be Part four, and we'll
probably wrap it up next week with this one, and
then we'll go into The Covenant, which will be Chris's episode,

(01:00:58):
which you know he's adding more more notes every single day.

Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
But this is Riel's I gotta plug, I gotta get
tomorrow's this.

Speaker 3 (01:01:05):
Is Rizel's question that we're going to be answering. But
that is it for this week's episode of The Unreligious Podcast.
I am a big drew Ski and I am Chris
and this is the Unreligious Podcast.

Speaker 4 (01:01:22):
