Speaker 1 (00:11):
Welcome to the Unreligious Podcast when we spread the Love
of Jesus without judgment or by laws, focusing solely on
Jesus Christ and the Bible.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
I am Chris, I am Big Drewski. Welcome my brother.
All those out on Internet land that might be watching
this live or listening to this through whatever podcast platform
you might be listening to this too.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Yeah, we've got plenty of them out there.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Oh yeah, we are live as well. If you're watching
this currently or if you're watching this later, feel free
to leave us comments, prayer requests, anything like that. You
can say you guys are doing awesome. You can say
we're doing terrible. You know, whatever you want to say,
Just feel free to leave it. I guess I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Oh so your weekend, leave us something. Uh, my week's
been good, real good, better than last week. Still have
the deal in the house in Portugal going on. But
we we've got some plus plus signs on that.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Okay, there's there.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
We've we've got a good chance God's working there on
that now. So that's what we're we're looking forward to.
We gotta get through the weekend and find out what
happens next week. But yeah, prayers that all goes well
and that we're able to sell that place.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yeah, I know you have been doing with that for
a while, dude.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
It's it's like that dark cloud hanging over your head,
you know. It's just it's to the point where I
told my wife I'm ready to just like the next
offer we get, let's just take it. I just want
to offload it. I'm done with it. But I know
we can't do that if we want to set ourselves
up properly. Here and again, it's waiting on God's timing.
(02:03):
He's got something good in the mix. He hasn't made
us wait this long for nothing, and I don't want
to force the issue.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
That makes sense. Yeah, I actually have, which I'm going
to add that to the prayer request. But since we're
go ahead and talking about it, I'll tee it up.
But now this might be a little bit of a
sore spot, but just bear with me. It's gonna give
you hope though I feel like, But so my buddy Josh,
(02:33):
who is he's actually well, he used to be a mechanic.
He works over the railroad now or whatever. But he
actually he's the guy that me and him is really
good friends, have been friends for a while. I invited
him to church. Him and his wife ended up started
(02:54):
going to church. They ended up joining church or joining
the church that we go to and every thing. But
so it's kind of cool because like I had reconnected
with him. Uh see there's the echo here. He had
we had kind of reconnected before I started going back
(03:17):
to church, so he kind of seen that whole transition,
and then when he started going to church, he also
kind of rededicated his life, him and his wife both,
and you know, and but he was telling me if
we were talking tonight, like as I was basically heading
back to the house or whatever, and see, there goes
(03:40):
the echo again. Man, I'm telling you, spiritual warfare is man.
We have been battling this entire series. But he was
basically saying that about the same time he started coming
to church, him and his wife were trying to find
the house and they had visited which I'm gonna keep
it as short as I can, but you know, they
(04:03):
had looked at like five different houses and they both
kind of had one house that stuck out and they're like, dude,
the house be perfect, but it's just kind of out
of our price range. They didn't really think anything of it. Well,
he said, he had like three separate knots in a row.
He had a dream about this house, Like he dreamed
about pulling into the driveway and the house was sitting there,
(04:24):
and he dreamed about coming through the garage and opening
the door and the wife and kids were like in
the living room hanging out watching TV. And he had
another you know dream where they were like cooking, you
know whatever. And he's like, he said, and he's like,
I told my wife about it, and he said that
she you know, she was like really like you know,
(04:50):
She's like, yeah, no, I actually dreamed about this house
too or whatever. And so, you know, he started going
to church and he's like I was trying to do
everything I could to make it happen and and he's like,
just no doors were opening whatever. And he said, he said, finally,
you know, four ish months or whatever. In the church,
he's like, I finally just said, you know what, I'm
just gonna give it to God. The whole house situation.
(05:12):
I'm done with it. I tried to do everything I could.
I'm just gonna give all this up. And uh, you know,
and he was like, I'm just turning it over to God,
and so he said he didn't think too much of it. Well,
like over like the last month and a half, some
doors started opening. They got some kind of line. I
forgot what the loan was, but they got this like
(05:32):
some kind of loan that paid off all their debts,
knocked their payments down cheaper and everything. Well, then they
sort of were getting through the process and maybe getting
pre approved. Well the process was taking way longer than
it's supposed to be, like a two week deal, and
it ended up being like a month and a half.
And they're just like, oh, man, you know, well the
whole time, this one house was sitting there and they
(05:54):
had visited it a couple of times, and he's like, dude,
you know, man, Like he's like, you know, we really
want this house and whatever. But he's like, look, if
God wants us to have that house, we'll get it.
If he doesn't, it's just what he was planing or whatever. Well,
they go on vacation and they were still you know,
(06:16):
fuoling with this stuff. Whatever. Well when they come back,
you know, I guess they could have kind of pulled
the trigger on the house. But there's a couple of
things that went lined up. He's like, no, let's not
do that. Whatever. When they come back, this house got
knocked down like one hundred and something thousand off the
price that it was, and he was like telling his wife.
He's like like, see if it would have worked out
(06:38):
and whatever, you know, Like, I mean, it just came
down like one hundred thousand. Well, then I guess they're
like loan stuff come through. And he said basically like
last night, he said that his realtor or whoever had said, hey,
if you want to, if you want to pull the trigger,
you can get the house, like right now, we'll put
in an offer or whatever. And he's like, no, I'll
(07:02):
get Let me and my wife are gonna go tomorrow
one more time. This will be the third time, and
we're gonna walk in and we're just gonna pray and
ask God like is this the house you want us?
Like yeah, that some doors are open, but if it's
not the right house, it's not the right house. So
he's gonna go tomorrow. And if they you know, if
(07:23):
they feel like they're you know that they're in the
same sink with God or wherever, they're gonna pull the trigger,
which I told him. I was like, it's probably good
that you're doing that that way. You know, you're trusting
God through the process. He's left this house open, you
know and all that, and so if you go and
you pray and you feel like you're led to do it,
it's probably good that you do it that way. So
(07:45):
but the funny thing was, he said the second I
think it was like the second time they visited. They're
out on the porch, will this family come over with
their kids? And they were kind of like, you know,
oh hi, and she's the mom was like, oh, are
you gonna be our new neighbors. And he's like, well
maybe hopefully, like we kind of liked the house, but
we'll see what happens. And the lady told him, she said, well,
(08:09):
my kids heard your kids and they just like had
to come over, like they just they heard kids and
they were so excited they wanted to come over and
meet you guys. Well, so they gets talking and she's like,
we have been praying so hard that a good Christian
family will move in next to us with kids that
(08:30):
our kids get along and their kids are like running
around the yard as this is going on, and he's like,
you know and this, and this lady starts telling him
about how they basically packed everything up. They felt they
were in Ohio, they were in an area that there's
like a spiritual stronghold, and they're like, we just felt
like we needed to pack everything up and moved to Tennessee.
(08:50):
Don't know why, and moved in next door. But she's like,
we've been praying really hard that a good Christian family
will move into this home with kids, and so it's like,
you know, dreams bumped into this family, turns it over
to God. One hundred thousand gets knocked off. So he's like, man,
I don't know. And I just told him, say, well,
(09:11):
you know, when you go there, pray, you'll know, you know,
if that's where you're supposed to be or not. Like
I feel like you'll know it your spirits. So that's
on one of my prayer requests. But that was kind
of a God moment. But I just, you know, like
I said, I know, the house things a little bit
of a sore spot, but it's like, well, you know,
maybe that'll give you some hope that it's like dude,
(09:31):
you know like in the end, God, you know, always
makes it better.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
But yeah, I can tell you three years ago, I
would have been chomping at the bit. Brother, I would
have been I don't care. We'll sell it, We'll lose
money if we have to. I want rind of that thing.
I'm done with it. I'm tired of waiting on it.
But with my walk now, that's another beautiful thing about
(09:58):
you know, Christianity and w in that walk with Jesus
is now. I trust I'm not worried about it. I'm
not fretting about it. I'm not what do you say?
What's that saying? If you're gonna worry, don't pray.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
If you're gonna if you're gonna pray, don't worry. If
you're gonna worry, don't pray.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
All right, So we're praying, so we're not worrying about it.
It's gonna happen. When it happens. It's in the Lord's hands.
And I'm doing what your what your best friend did.
I'm just giving it up to God. I mean, there's
no way he hasn't heard the prayers. I mean, we've
got us praying you praying the podcast, we got people
out their family and friends praying. They've been praying for you. Know,
six months on this, so God hears it. It's just
(10:37):
not time yet and we have to trust that. So yeah,
I'm I'm content with it.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Well, And it's just like with this car situation, dude,
Like i mean, three years ago, that would have absolutely
wrecked me. Like I would have been like, what are
we gonna do? How can we afford this? What if
we don't get enough, what we're gonna do about a car?
Like I would have been trying to contra troll the
entire thing. And Dude, this whole time, I've just been like,
(11:05):
you know, hey, look, everybody was fine. Yeah, you know,
my wife's knee was banged up, which is getting better.
Thanks for the prayers, you, your wife, listeners, everybody her
knees getting better. Tuesday she's going to go for her
MRI appointment, So we're hoping for good news there. But
you know, but it's like, which that was gonna be,
(11:27):
you know, God moment. You know, that was gonna be
one of my God moments. But like, you know, we
got our first like quote unquote offer on the the
claim or whatever. It was a little bit under what
we wanted. But my dad was like, well, hey, look
like he's letting us drive when they had kind of
an extra car. He's letting us drive it right now.
(11:47):
He's like, look, you know, if you want to buy that,
I'll sell it to you for like thirty five hundred.
He's like, I know that I could get forty five
out of it. It's an Envoy, it's in pretty good shape.
It's an older car, nothing fancy. It does have a
sun roof though, which my five year old loves, but
you know, and it's like and he's like, well, I
(12:10):
could probably easily get forty five, but I got thirty
five in it. If you can get me thirty five,
they'd be great. Our first number was like forty three hundred,
so we're like, well, you know, hey, that's enough to
get the car, replace the car seats, which we're gonna
get reimbursed for anyways. And then it was like, which
I overpay for insurance just because I'm one of those people.
(12:33):
But then it was like I forgot We got five
hundred for each of them to go towards medical bills,
which I have really good insurance through Teamsters, so I
don't think we're gonna have to pay too much anyway.
So it's like okay, well there's an extra fifteen hundred,
and then they added like a little bit more for something,
and then like I was just sitting there watching it, it
(12:54):
was just like going up and up and up, and
I'm like, okay, God, like you're just kind of showing
off at this point, you know it Like I just
put it on his hands, and it's looking like we're
gonna be able to replace a car, no problem, have
a little bit of money left over, and we've just
been ridiculously blessed through the whole thing. The ac in
(13:14):
my car gout fixed, which again, thanks for the prayers.
My dad owns a paint body shop. I just I
basically let him know. I was like, hey, take a
look at it. See you know, I think maybe it's
the blowing motor because it wasn't blowing anything. And he's like,
I'll take a look at it. Well, he pops the
hood on my little Mercury and he's like, oh yeah,
(13:36):
it's like right there. Well, he just so happened to
have one, popped it off, popped it on boom, just instant.
He's like, it didn't take him any time, didn't take
a lot of time away from his business. It's quick,
easy fix. It's blowing better than it was before. And
I'm like, oh, praise God because this Tennessee muggy, he
(13:58):
is just unbearable to dude. You know, also, you're gonna
appreciate this because you know my wife and you know
how shy she is. She is ridiculously shy. My wife
actually witnessed to one of her friends over the past
(14:19):
like week or two, which I was like, really, and
this friend is like, uh, I'm trying to think of
how to word it because like I don't I don't
want to. I don't want to, like, but she is
very like polar opposite of like how we believe, like
(14:46):
plays with Ouiji boards not really like kind of just
anti religion, anti anything, and so dude, I was when
she told me that, I was like, are you serious
and she's like yeah, I just to whatever, and I
was like, dude, I was. So I was like, I was,
(15:07):
do I mean that literally because she's so shy, but
for her to do that with somebody she's known for
a long time and everything, I was just like, man, dude,
Like God's just like moving all around me, dude, and
like we're so blessed and I just I'm just so
thankful man. And the only reason I'm telling the story listeners,
(15:30):
you know, not trying to brag. I'm not trying to
you know, anything like that. It's just I just I
hope that as me and Chris talk about like our
lives and some of this stuff, that like it'll just
encourage you guys, because dude, if you guys knew my wife,
she's the quietest, most shyest, sweetest person ever. But like,
(15:51):
you know, she still found the courage to say, look,
I love you enough to tell you this that you know,
we've been going to church. We we've completely changed our
lives around. You know, God is working in our lives
our families better than it's ever been. And like she
just kind of told her story and for her to
had the curg and I told her, I'm so proud
(16:12):
of you for doing that. But like, it's just there's
a difference between like accepting salvation and living in the
fullness of God's presence. And for a long time I
had faith, but I just I didn't have that walk, dude.
(16:33):
And it's like, once you get that walk and you
start walking in like the fullness of God's presence. It's like, dude, stuff,
It's just like doors open. There's no stress, there's no anxiety,
and everything just gets better.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
Man, Amen, absolutely it does. And I think the reason
it gets better is because not only do you have
your Lord and Savior there for you get in your back,
but you know he's there, and you know that you
can surrender everything to him and it's all good.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
You know.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
It may not turn out the way you like. I mean,
did I want to wait six months to a year
to sell the house in Portugal? No, I wanted it
to sell like our farmhouse. Our farmhouse sold in twenty
four hours. God has other things in the mix. And
that's the thing. Like I was saying earlier, and like
you were saying, excuse me, if I didn't have my
faith right now, I would be pulling my hair out
(17:32):
through I would be free out right now. I would
be telling my wife, Okay, that's it. We've got to
just give the dogs to somebody. We need to move
back to the island and just live in the house.
Obviously it's not meant to sell, so we'll just go back.
But no, I'm with faith comes patience and understanding and
realizing that there are good things in work. You just
have to wait on the Lord and it's not easy
(17:54):
to do, but I guarantee you it's worth it.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
Yeah, thousand percent man, like you said. And the thing
is is like when you just deny yourself and that's why,
like a lot of people have issues with Christianity and
it's like I see these videos with TikTok and I
read the comments and it's like the overwhelming thing is
(18:18):
like I don't want to It's like I don't want
to be told what to do. You know, you're about
to do a series when we eventually wrap this one up,
don't judge me, and like that's kind of a wall
that people put up. It's like, well, you're judging me,
don't judge me. And it's like, really, the main issue
is like you want to do what you want to
(18:41):
do and you do not want to be told what
to do. And Christianity is an amazing ride because it's
like salvation is a free gift through faith. It's literally there.
You just have to accept it. And but part of
(19:03):
truly being a Christian is fully submitting, which we did
podcast on fully submitting to God and allowing God to
work and well just you just turn it over to him.
And that's scary, but it's like, dude, things just happen,
and it's once you do that, it just gets so
(19:24):
much better. Man. So let's did you have any Did
you have anything else from uh, just weak or anything?
Any God moments? Any?
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (19:36):
I did.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
We did have a God moment out of the blue.
We're sitting I'm sitting in the living room, I think
it was yesterday, and I get a message on a
messenger and it's from our youth pastor our church and like,
I haven't talked to him except for you know, outside
church or whatever and forever. And he actually sent me,
(19:59):
uh message and told me that he thought that my
wife and I would be really good small group leaders
in RUSH this year and wanted to know if we
be interested in that.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
That's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
What RUSH is is RUSH is a student ministry that
when winter comes around, because you know, winter here is brutal,
you don't get out much. It's Wednesday nights and it's
for the students of the church from I think it's
k all the way through junior high, maybe high school.
I'm not positive, but yeah, I was. He just out
(20:34):
of the blue thought of us and messaged me and
was like, dude, do you want to do this? And
I said, well, my wife and I have never been
leaders before in anything, any group or whatever. But man,
I don't mind learning while we go. I think it
would be an honor to be a part of that.
So he already sent me the stuff to get registered.
So it looks like we're going to be small group
(20:54):
leaders for RUSH on Wednesday night.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
Oh dude, that's awesome. Man. You know, you really don't
realize the impact you have on people until you start
impacting people, like talking to people. You know, you don't.
You just don't realize how much impact you really have
until you start talking to just any like literally anybody
(21:20):
doesn't matter if you work with people or whoever. So, dude,
that's awesome. I can't wait to hear more about that.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
Man calling dude, I told I looked at Aphe and
I was like, well, she's like, well, I said, God's
knocking on the door. She said, yes, he is. I said,
I think we better answer this one. So yeah, it's
you know, it's it's it's very it's humbling to know
that the pastor thought of us, and and that he
(21:47):
thinks we'd be good for it, and we're excited, dude
it so yeah, I mean we're getting plugged in, like
God's plugging us in, whether we like it or I mean,
look at the look at the Saturday morning group, the
guys group that I go to plugged in there. And
now I go down to the beach almost every morning
to watch the sun come up and it's just my
peaceful time, me and God for an hour every morning
(22:07):
from about six to seven. But yeah, it was just
I mean, how how lucky are we that we get
to serve the kingdom in something like that? Oh no, no, no,
not again. Okay, y'all. I just lost Drew, but I'm live.
Let's see if he comes back. Oh no, we're not
(22:28):
gonna have this. Okay, he's trying to get back in.
I'm gonna throw a quick prayer here while he's doing that.
Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, please bring Bruce Drew back into
the picture.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Oh I love it.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
I was like, dude, I am not ready to roll
solo again, but I'll do it.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
Back.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Yeah, you're back.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
I have a hold on. I can't hear you though.
Oh dude, you gotta love it. I mean hold on,
let me try to put my other earbot back in.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Lord, Father, put the enemy at bay. I can hear you.
Oh there he goes again. Oh this is insane. Heavenly
Father Jesus, please keep the enemy at bay, keep our
technology working for his Father, in your mighty name, your
mighty hand. Let's this podcast push the enemy out so much.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
Thank you for the ability to do this. Father. Please
okay in my back.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
Yeah, you're back at my back. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
I don't think you ever left.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
So yeah, all the time. Do what I could hear
you the whole time. I just you went black.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
Again. For those of you that's watching or listening to this,
if you have been listening to this series, we've talked
about the technical difficult that we have had while trying
to record this episode or this series, and it has
(24:09):
been just I mean, the enemy is fighting us so hard.
And that's why I wore pink tonight. For those of
you that's watching this, I wore a happy, bright color
just as a reminder of how happy I'm and blessed
and I am, and just how much of a loser
(24:29):
that Satan is. It's like, literally, he's he's trying everything
he can and you know, him and his legion dagoons
to try to derail this thing, dude, and it's just
it's funny. So like literally, I for those of you
(24:50):
that was watching this, I literally again, these echoes, the
microphone issues, technological difficult all this stuff has literally not
happen this entire time. I used my beats every single week.
I use the same mic every single week. Chris just
(25:14):
recently got a soundboard. But we recorded the last episode
of Covenants, no issues whatsoever. Literally all I did was
I put my other earbud into my ear and I
was gonna switch them, something I've done, you know, over
forty one episodes, I don't know how many times. And
I literally went to switch my earbud, pulled it out.
(25:35):
My camera went blank. I couldn't hear Chris at all.
It was like everything on my laptop froze up. And
there's no reason why that should do that. Anybody that
has that deals with any kind of technological or audio anything,
there's no reason for it to do that. Like I
literally just switched my earbud, you know, and the amount
(25:58):
of like blowback that we've got on this, and I
couldn't hear you at all, I came back in. I
knew you're praying. I'm gonna pray again, just to double
pray here in a second. But but yeah, the amount
of like just spiritual warfare that we've had on this
has been insane. And one of the prayer quests that
(26:18):
I actually was gonna have was a very good friend
of mine. His son's best friend literally just committed suicide
the other day. And it was like, and I couldn't
help but think, you know this, So this kid was
like athletic, he was on football team, he was good,
he was gifted. He was a you know, handsome, strapping
(26:39):
in shape young man and ended his life. And it's like,
I can't help but think, you know what if he
would have heard this podcast. That famous chef, I'm gonna
look her name up real quick. She literally just passed
(27:01):
away the other day and Burl Burl, she was all
over you know, I mean, cooking with Chef Ramsey all
this stuff. World renowned chef. She had had reached the
peak of everything she ever wanted to do. You know,
she's well known on all the you know, food channels
(27:22):
and everything. Took her own life the other day and
it's like, you know, We live in a world where
the enemy society tries to tell you do what makes
you happy, and they try to tell you like, oh,
you know, live how you want to live, fulfill your
(27:45):
own desires. And the thing is is that when you
read the Bible, it's very clear if we do that,
our nature is to sin. For the wages of sin
is death. We read it last week, John ten ten.
You know, the devil's main goal is to still kill
and destroy. That's that's his goal. And if you give
(28:07):
in to your sinful desires, it is always going to
lead to a path of self destruction. And and all
these people that's telling us, do what makes you happy?
Do you know? You just live life how you want to.
You be your own God. Those same people are going home,
(28:27):
these celebrities, these people that's telling you all this nonsense,
they're going home and they're popping antidepressants, they're popping medicine.
They have anxiety, stress, mental, they've got, you know, mental battles.
And then what happens is is they follow their own advice.
They get to the end of the road, and it's
(28:49):
nothing but destruction because that's what the devil does, you know.
And so that's why we face so much technical issues
and stuff on this podcast. So I was gonna give
you a second to rebuttle that, and then I'm actually
gonna pray again before we start, just because you know,
(29:14):
I just I want to make sure we're double and
triple preyed up. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
Man, that's uh. It rocks me, dude. I mean I
don't just say that figuratively like it. It rocks me
when I hear about stuff like that. And it's just,
you know, everybody has a certain thing that just really
digs deep with them. Everybody's as different. Some peoples are
the same mind as is this topic. It just just
(29:41):
through it. It hits hard with me.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
I hate it.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
I hate the fact that that people get to that
point and tend to that low of a point in
life where that that's the only option they feel they have.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
I just did it. Just did it cuts well, And
it's upsetting because you're sitting there like, Okay, here, I'm
gonna give you the I'm going to give you the
answer that is going to cure that anxiety, that stress
and and everything that you're dealing with. It's not always
gonna be easy, but like, here is the answer. And
(30:17):
then when you reach out to tell them and they're
basically like, well, no, you're stupid, You're an idiot. How
could you let, you know, believe in a sky daddy
or how can you believe in you know, a man
made book or a man made religion? And and it's like,
you know, we're supposed to love these people, but it's
like you're like, okay, I have the medicine. I have
(30:38):
the medicine, and people just reject it. And all we
can do is continue to cover topics like this and
continue to talk to people and continue to try to
reach out and give them all the branch. But I'm
gonna go ahead and pray and then we're gonna get
into this and then we'll see how far we make it.
(30:59):
I mean, this might be the first ever five part
or I don't know, but we're just gonna We're just
gonna let God lead and then we're just gonna see
what happens. So if you guys have any prayer requests,
make sure that you guys leave them in the comments,
email them messages if you want them to be anonymous.
We're gonna go ahead and pray up and we're gonna
get into it. Dear God, I just pray right now
(31:27):
that you bond any unclean spirit, you bond any attacks
from the enemy, and I pray that you let no
spirit but your spirit operate in this podcast right now.
Whoever's listening, whatever issues that they're dealing with, I pray
(31:48):
that you open their ears and you put a hedge
of thorns around them right now to where they can
listen to what we're saying. Because the reality is, statistically
there's someone that is going to listen to this that
is either currently is dealing with this problem that we're
talking about tonight, thoughts of suicide, mental distress. They're either
(32:12):
dealing with it currently, they've dealt with it in the past,
or they're going to deal with it in the future.
And we just pray right now in Jesus' name, that
you bond every single demonic or unclean spirit in their place,
and that no spirit but your spirit be allowed to
operate as we go through this topic tonight. We pray
(32:32):
that anybody that is dealing with this have the courage
to reach out and seek help, to reach out and
seek even me or Chris, but more importantly, that if
they're at the end of the line, and they've just
they're at the point of giving up, that they'll turn
to you, because I just pray that through me and Chris,
(32:53):
that we can communicate the message that the reason why
they're empty is they're not going to the source. You
are the source of life. You're the source of joy.
We love you. We praise you in everything without you
or nothing, and we submit to you and your presence
and your grace and your mercy. And I just pray
(33:15):
that anybody that's dealing with this topic just feels an
overwhelming sense of grace and love and mercy, and that
we can just speak to them with your Holy Spirit
tonight and this message can land where it needs to land.
We love you, we praise you. It's in your heaven name.
(33:35):
We pray Amen.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
Amen.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
So Chris did an amazing job last week. For those
of you, if this is the first time you're listening,
hit pause, go back and listen to the original you know,
episode one, and listen through. We've been talking about technical difficulties.
I have no doubt that the enemy's trying to stop
us from this, but Chris did an amazing job last
(34:00):
night or last week. My power went out in the
middle of this podcast. I was somehow able to get
back up on my phone and I had cleared the
prayer request graphic that was just over top of the
podcast a second ago those of you that's watching it,
and then it dropped out again. And honestly, dude, I mean,
(34:21):
you did exactly what I would have done. You know,
for those of you that don't know, me and Chris
trade topics, So if it was his topic, I would
have done the same exact thing. I would have maybe
tried to wrap it up best I could put a
button on it, but you know, I would have basically said, okay, God,
you laid this on Chris's heart. I could run down
(34:42):
through his notes, but I'm just I'm gonna let you know.
I'm gonna let him finish the task that you put
on him. So I thought you did great. I listened
to the whole episode. I was rooting me on from
you know, I was watching the live or whatever. But
I thought you did awesome. But it was just another
reminder that you know, the enemy doesn't want this, this
(35:04):
this topic to be told, dude. And the unfortunate thing
for you know Satan, who again he's a loser. I mean,
he's fighting a losing battle him and his army of goons.
But the unfortunate thing for Satan is is that me
and Chris we fear God far more than we fear
(35:26):
the attacks of the enemy, and we are not gonna stop.
I don't care if it takes seven episodes. I don't
care if I need to sit down on a weekend
and record a three hour episode. I don't care. Like
this message will get out. We're not gonna stop, and
you know, so, I just think it's important. What I
(35:50):
want to start with tonight is I'm gonna kind of
back up a little bit, flow into kind of what
I was talking about, and then we're gonna keep rolling.
But one thing that struck me as I was thinking
about this is the devil knows that a fifty percent
Christian makes a zero percent impact. Okay, if you're.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
A loose Christian, say that again.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
The devil knows that a fifty percent Christian makes a
zero percent impact. Wow, the reality of the situation is.
And I was literally just driving down the road and
that just literally and I literally texted it to myself.
I was like, I got to add that, but yeah, literally,
I was just driving down the road. And I was like,
that's good. I love it, Like a fifty percent Christian
(36:38):
makes a zero percent impact. And the reason is is
that you can't serve two masters. The Bible talks about
this like and I you know, we've talked about it
for you know. Keith Boggs is a man of God
that's in my life. He does a lot of his
ministry at my church. But he says a quote that's
stuck with me, and it's if God is not Lord
(36:58):
of all, then he's not lord at all in your life,
like you have to serve him. But the reality is
there's a lot of people out there that's just lukewarm
and they're barely trucking along and they're not living a
life that's of God's fullness and abundance. But they're also
(37:22):
it's like they're living just enough to try to stay
out of hell, but not godly enough, like they're trying
to get to heaven, if that makes sense. And the
problem with that is is your zero threat, dude, Like
if you're one hundred percent all in, the devil hates that.
(37:44):
And I know I said it on the light. Oh well,
I can't remember if I said on it. I may
not even had a chance to say it on the
last episode, but I personally that this is not like
a biblical stance. This is just something that I feel
in my spirit that I just feel like God sort
of laid it on my heart. But like I feel
like the ones that struggle the most with mental depression, anxiety,
(38:09):
and thoughts of suicide, I think the reason why you
struggle the most is because you have the most powerful testimonies, right,
Because I think the reason why the devil attacks you
so hard is because he knows when that light switch
kicks on, you're going to be a problem. Right, And
(38:31):
the greatest things that we can do as Christians is
be a problem to the devil, right because if he
knows you're going to be a problem, what John ten
ten we read it, I think like two weeks in
a row now, his main goal is to kill still
(38:51):
see I'm getting echoes. If he can't still your purpose,
he's gonna to try to kill you or kill whatever
it is that you're trying to do. If he can't
do that, he's just gonna try to destroy it. That's why,
like we're having so many issues on this podcast, those
of you that's listening to this. You know, we've never
(39:13):
had this many issues. But the other thing is, like
I was listening to a podcast and it's a profound statement,
and Chris, I'd love to get your input. I know
I'm dropping, Like I'm just I'm trying to set the framework,
but like, and I'm gonna kick it back to you.
(39:33):
But there's a profound statement, like we all know, well,
whether you believe in God or not, you've heard the
term God is love. God loves everybody. We know that
even if you're not familiar with the Bible, you've heard
God is love. God loves everybody. You're thinking, Okay, yeah, God,
(39:55):
God loves everybody, so I e he loves me. But
the more profound thing I think is that like God
likes you, like literally, he likes you, like he wants
to spend time with you, your little quirks, the things
(40:19):
that you're interested in. You know, maybe you're a little nerdy,
maybe you're just silly, maybe you're an overthinker and over analyzer.
Like God likes you like He loves you in an
abundance that we can't comprehend. But it's like, no, dude,
Like he likes you like he genuinely likes you and
(40:39):
wants to spend time with you and all the little
quirks and stuff, like he loves everything about us. But
it's it's like, no, dude, Like he actually likes you.
He likes hanging out with you, spending time with you
and everything that you're about. And I just wish that
people that they're willing to give everything up would just
(41:02):
try God, you know, like just try it, like, just
give it a chance. But like I said, I know
I threw a lot at you there, but I'm kind
of teeing it up. But I was going to give
you a chance. Just I was letting you marinate for
a second and then I was gonna kick it to you.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
But just general thoughts, Well, you said that God likes us,
and he does, and he likes to spend time with us. Right,
That's that's probably our father's favorite thing. I don't know
us men, you drew any other men who are listening
to have kids. You want to spend time with your kids,
(41:38):
especially when it's fun time. You know, you want to
build that bond with your kids. You want your kids
to look up to you, You want your kids to
love you without effort and that's what our father wants
from us. And you know, I brought it up earlier
through the going down to the beach every Saturday or
every Saturday morning for the men'sment. But now I'm doing
(41:59):
it probably three or four days a week on my own,
depending on the weather. But I have found that in
that moment, in that hour hour and a half that
I spend on the beach reading my Bible and just
connecting with God, just me and him. There's nobody else
around to distract me. It's just me and him, and
(42:21):
that's what he loves. That's what he wants. He wants
that one on one time. And I'm telling you, when
I don't get those days, Drew, my wife will will testify.
I am usually in a rotten mood or things just
aren't going right all day long. But the days that
I go down and I start my day with that
hour hour and a half on the beach with just
(42:42):
me and God, Dude, I feel so good all day,
like there's nothing I can't handle. And that is God
having that relationship with me. But he's there. He wants it.
But you have to enact, you have to act on it,
you have to reach out, you have to give him
that relationship. He's not going to force you to give
(43:02):
it to him. That's why we have free will. So
I think you're you're a spot on. You know, he
likes us so much.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
He loves us.
Speaker 1 (43:09):
Yeah, he loves us just like a father, more than
a father. I mean, to be honest with you, I
don't none of us can fathom how much he loves us.
We just can't. Yeah, it's beyond our imagination what God
is capable of, how he's capable of loving. Look at
the mercy and grace he puts on us. Would we
do that with other people? Do we do that with
other people? So that relationship.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
I agree.
Speaker 1 (43:32):
He likes us, he loves us, he wants to be
there for us, he wants us to call on him.
He wants that relationship. But when you get like you
were saying, when you get to rock bottom and you've
tried everything else, I don't understand why you wouldn't try
that because that's where the salvation is. That's where you're
(43:54):
probably going to get all the help you need. So
I'll just leave it there.
Speaker 2 (43:59):
Yeah, I mean, like you said, I think there's a
lot of people like there's a lot of fathers, and
you know, I don't want to get to you know,
I try to like not be too specific or anything
like that with certain things, but like, you know, it's
like last year we did the Daddy Daughter Dance and
(44:21):
I went, and you know, there was I noticed that
there's some like other fathers that was there, and they
were just like like their daughters were you know, like
middle school age or less, and they were just kind
of like sitting there at the table and their daughters
(44:44):
were just kind of like you know, I mean we're
talking like elementary schoolish age, middle school, and their daughters
are just kind of like sitting there and they're just
like looking around and listening to the music. And it
was like you could tell that like there was no
it was almost like the dad didn't know what to
(45:04):
do or like Okay, you know, yeah, let's go to
the daddy and that because I was having a blast, dude,
and like, dude, I love my family, I love my daughters.
But like I don't even know how to put into
words that, like it's more profound to say, like I
(45:26):
like spending time with my face like and but I
was sitting there at the same time, me and my
daughter's giggling, We're having a good time and we're talking.
I'm and I'm asking her questions like oh you know,
oh do you like that?
Speaker 3 (45:42):
You know?
Speaker 2 (45:42):
Is that cookie good? Oh? You know whatever, and like, oh,
this is not you know, just like just talk just
hanging out and taught, and it's like I loved it
so much. But then it like broke my heart because
I'm sitting there, like how can you I just I
can't comprehend like how you can sit there and like
not be able to hold a conversation with Like I mean,
(46:05):
we're talking young enough to still be like infatuated with dad,
not like teenager like get away from me. And it's
like that just kind of broke my heart because I'm like, dude,
how like I just don't understand how you can't sit
there and like not be like, oh this is great,
you know. But I think that's that's how it is
with like we think of God as like, Okay, yes,
(46:27):
he's reverent, he's all powerful, he's he's you know everything.
It's like we think of him like he's God, and
it's like we should fear him, but at the same time,
it's like we don't really think about the fact, like, dude,
you know there's times where my daughter will say something
(46:50):
and it just it I laughed so hard. I'm like
in stitches. And it's like I think that God likes us,
like he laughs at our joke. I think when we
stubb or toe, he sits there and kind of you know, chuckles,
and like I think when he sees us trying our
best and and you know, it's like I think that
(47:12):
we don't really think about it from the standpoint of
how much He loves us. Like I even think there's
times where we might tell joke that you know, or
something that maybe is like you know kind of like
where he's like, oh, you know, I don't know said that,
but like, you know, it's just I don't know. It's
like I can't put it into words that that fatherly bond.
But the other the next point that I was gonna
(47:35):
make too. And you know, if you're if you're plugged
into Christian algorithms, I think you've seen probably this analogy
like a thousand times. But like if you're feeling broken
and empty and you just can't put the pieces together
of like why you feel like a shell of yourself
(47:56):
and you just can't. It's like, no matter what you do,
you're like, what's the point. I don't know why I'm here.
I have no purpose, I have no drive, Like what's
next in my life? Like time's flown by faster than
I can't even remember. It's like twenty years went by
and that was yesterday. I don't know what the next
(48:16):
when we get in these existential crisis is the analogy
that I like to use. And like I said, you
guys have probably seen this video. Maybe you haven't, but
I seen this video. And this girl was talking about
how we've all heard like we're made in the image
of God, right, And it's like the guy was basically asking,
He's like, so like I don't know, I don't understand
(48:39):
how to like you know, they were talking about fulfillment
and stuff, and basically the analogy that she gave is like, okay,
like God made us in his image. So it's like,
you know, if you take a glove, right, and you
basically take that glove and lay it on the ground, Well,
that glove is the image of a hand, right, it
(49:00):
looks like a hand. It's clearly the image of a hand. Well,
God made us in his image and he gave you
the gift of free will. He loves you enough to
let you make your own decisions. You have to be
the one to accept salvation in God's love. But like,
until you accept God from the source, the one that
(49:27):
created you in his image, you're just a glove. Right.
When you finally accept, you profess Jesus as your Lord
and savior, and you finally submit and say, God, I've
tried it my way, it doesn't work. I want to
live for you. I believe in you. And you finally
(49:48):
give your life over to God. You go from being
a glove that's in the image of God to there
actually being a hand in that glove. Right. So it's like, yeah,
it's in the image of the hand, but it takes
the actual hand going into it to actually make that
glove have life and have a purpose. Right. And so
(50:09):
that's how it is, Like God's made us in his image,
but until we allow him to actually work through us,
you're just a lifeless glove. And I think that that's
part of the reason why we have so many issues
with suicide and suicidal thoughts and depression and anxiety, is
because we're just a glove that's made in the image
(50:32):
and we're not allowing our creator, our Lord and savior
to work through us. And until we just surrender to that,
you're always going to have that emptiness. I think that's
where that emptiness comes from, is you're not allowing God
to fulfill what He's ordained on your life.
Speaker 1 (50:53):
You know, Yeah, I agree. So that analogy, dude, is amazing.
By the way, that's two tonight that I'm like, I
got to remember that on that last one.
Speaker 2 (51:05):
Wasn't mine, but yeah, I was just driving on the road.
I'm like, dude, a fifty percent Christian has a zero
eight percent impact. Now I don't know how much time
we lost on the recording, but I do want to
get into you know. So the first episode we kind
of defined suicide. We looked at the numbers from like
a worldly perspective. The second episode, we you know, started
(51:28):
kind of talking about the the other side of that
last week power outage. So how to break that stronghold up?
God's answer is choose life. Due to on Me thirty nineteen,
and I'm going to, oh, well, I was going to
screen share. I had it pulled up earlier until my
(51:50):
computer messed up. Dudeter on me thirty nineteen. I call
Heaven and Earth as witnesses today against you, that I
have sat before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore,
choose life, that both you and your descendants may live
Psalms one eighteen. I shall not die, but live and
declare the works of the Lord. I started to tee
(52:12):
this up. I got into the analogy of Peter versus Judas. Judas,
after he betrayed Jesus, he decided to retreat be isolated.
We talked a lot about that. I think it was
two episodes ago from Isolation and the tools the enemy uses.
But Judas chose to isolate, he believed the lie, and
(52:35):
he ended up taking his own life instead. Peter also
denied Christ three times. He fell too, but the difference
is he ran back to Jesus and was restored. So
how do you break that stronghold? In my opinion, the
first thing that you have to do is you have
(52:58):
to know who you're your enemy is. If you don't
know your enemy, then you're gonna be left out in
the cold, and you also have to know who your
army is. There. Actually, let me back up, there's another
point that I was gonna make Actually, I think it
(53:19):
might be a little further down. But so you know, now,
Chris said he wanted to kind of do the the
Armor of God, So I'm gonna kind of leave that alone.
But you do have the Armor of God. That's the
easiest way to fight that. And the interesting thing too
about the Armor of God is most of which is defenses.
(53:46):
So you have there's six pieces. You have the Belt
of Truth, you have the breastplate of Righteousness, you have
the shoes which is the Gospel of Peace, and you
have the shield of Faith. You also have the helmet
of Salvation. Every bit of those is defense. But the
only offensive weapon that is listed in the Armor of
(54:07):
God is the sword, which is the sword of the Spirit,
which is an analogy for the Bible. The only quote
unquote offensive tool that you have that you can cut
through is with the word of God. The Word of
God is going to slice through the enemy's attacks. It's
going to slice through untruth, deception. If you're ever in
(54:33):
a situation you're like, Okay, I don't know if this
is of God or if this is of the enemy.
You just literally compare that to scripture, right, So reading
your Bible is one of the greatest tools that you
can have. There was. I was pretty sure it was
in the notes. Okay, so I want to talk about
(54:55):
this too, and I'm keeping it all the time. I
think we lost about like five minutes there. But this
verset right here is one Corinthians ten thirteen. No temptation
has overtaken you accept such as is common to man.
But God is faithful who will not allow you to
be tempted beyond what you are able. But with the
(55:19):
temptation will also make a way of escape that you
may be able to bear it. The interesting thing about
this is there's a lot of people that say, you know,
you've heard people say God won't put more on you
than you can bear. That is kind of a thing
(55:41):
that we as Christians have kind of peddled. But that's
not actually scripture. There's not anywhere in the Bible that
says that God will not put on put more on
you than what you can bear. What they do is
they quote this verse. What this says is I'm gonna
(56:01):
break this part in two ways, and then we'll probably
end here, and then who knows, we may end up
going into like a little bit of the armor next week.
But what that verse says. I'll pull it up again.
Is it says, no temptation has overtaken you accept such
as common to man. But God is faithful who will
(56:24):
not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able,
but with temptation will also make a way to escape.
The other verse I was gonna read is this isn't
in the notes, but it is John, Sorry, James, which
(56:45):
is probably mine Chris's favorite book now James one twelve.
It says, blessed is the man who endures temptation, for
when he has been approved, he will receive the crown
of life, which Lord has promised to those who love him.
Let no one say he is tempted, or when he
(57:06):
is tempted, I am tempted by God, for God cannot
be so, for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor
does he himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted
when he is drawn away from his own desires and enticed.
So the point that I was making is we see
(57:30):
this all the time. People say God won't put more
on you than you can bear. It's not that God
puts anything on you, but there are times where He
will allow you to be tempted. He'll allow you to
be to go through trials. He'll allow you to be
(57:50):
tested from time to time. But God is not sorry.
Speaker 1 (57:54):
What read the Book of Job.
Speaker 2 (57:57):
Yeah, but God himself is not going to tempt you
to sin. That goes against his nature. If you were
being tempted to sin, that is not of God, that
is completely of the enemy. God will allow you to
go through trials and struggles sometimes to you know, to
test your faith, but he's not going to tempt you
(58:19):
to sin. But that verse also says right there, okay,
but with the temptation will also make him a way
of escape that you may be able to bear it.
That is what he what people that they take that
and kind of condense this down. But it's not that
(58:40):
God's putting you on putting it on you. He's just
allowing you to go through the trial to test your
your your faith. But yeah, and to strengthen it. I'm
going to read six truths and then, like I said,
will see what happens. But I guess we'll get to
(59:02):
this next week. But there's six truths that I want
you guys to think about, and then we'll wrap this
up and we'll talk about it next week. To be
honest with you again, with all the technical issues and stuff,
we kind of got thrown off a little bit there.
But six truths for spiritual readiness. The first thing is
is if you're a child of God, you're in a
(59:23):
spiritual war every day. That's something that the second that
you accept Christ as your lord, the enemy is is
gonna fight you. So the first thing is you're going
to be in a spiritual war every single day. The
second thing is you have to prepare for the battle
before the battle. The third thing is you got to
(59:44):
know your strengths. Me and Chris has talked about the
spiritual gifts and stuff, knowing your spiritual gifts. The fourth
thing is you have to know your commander, which should
be God. But then more importantly you also, well not
more importantly, but also important you you have to know
your army. You have to know who you're fighting with.
(01:00:05):
And like I said, we'll touch on this a little
bit more next week, but we're out of time. But
any just closing thoughts, anything that you might want to add.
I know I threw a lot at you guys there.
Speaker 3 (01:00:19):
But.
Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
Yeah, I think that you covered everything really good. Like
I was saying, when we go through when God allows
us to go through these trials, when he allows us
to go through these hard times and this hardship, it's
not that God's sitting up there giggling and laughing at
the fact that we're suffering. God's looking at us, going
you're growing up. That's why you're going through this. You're
(01:00:43):
leaning on me and you're growing up and you're learning
how to give it over to me. And I think
that's a big part of it, Drew, is we have
to We are told to cast our fears, our anxiety,
everything we have on our plate. We're supposed to throw
that off to Jesus and to God and let them
deal with it. I mean, we still have to deal
with day to day life, but when it comes to
(01:01:05):
something like worry, you can give that to God. You
don't have to worry about things when the sick, spiritual truths,
or readiness. I am excited to dive into that for sure.
That you laid that out really good. Due I really
want to get into that. So No, I just like
I said, this is this has been a rough, rough
(01:01:27):
one for me. But through the some of the scripture
you're reading it says right there, you got to call
on God when you're in those dark times.
Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
You know he.
Speaker 1 (01:01:37):
He's not going to tempt you. I said it. I
think when I went solo last week, I said it.
It's not God tempting me. It's it's the devil. It's sane,
it's the enemy. Bring in your ear, you know, And
that's when you have to realize that you're under attack.
When you start having the dark thoughts in your head
(01:01:57):
and you start going down, Okay, that is completely away
from God. You've lost your life. You've got to get
that light back. You've got to call out to your Father,
You've got to call out to Jesus, and you have
to bring that back and they will be there for you.
That's what it's saying. Even though you're going to have
trials and tribulations and God's going to let you go
through that, You're going to come out stronger on the
other end because you came out of it. So I
(01:02:21):
would just leave it there.
Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
Yeah, I think just to wrap up what you said,
me and you both, you know, when we talked at
the truck driving school, you know, we had three weeks
to teach someone how to drive a big rig from
start to finish. First week was nothing but class work.
They had to come in and literally it was nothing
(01:02:45):
but class work, going through the DOT manual and learning
everything that you had to learn in order to pass
the test to get your lossons. And then you went
out in the yard and the first three days is
you know, literally, Okay, I'm gonna lay the ground work
(01:03:06):
and build a foundation, and then I'm gonna teach you
and you're gonna learn, and then i'm gonna teach you
something else, and I'm gonna teach you something else, and
it's building up confidence, building up confidence. You can do this, man,
you can do this. Instruction, instruction. I'm here, I'm here,
I'm here. Get any questions, I'm here, I'm here, you know.
And that was from like Monday to like Wednesday, and
(01:03:29):
then when Thursday rolls around, that was always the hardest
part of the week because Thursday was the day before
the actual exam to whether or not to and when
you took your exam, that was okay, this is the
last checkpoint. It's pass or fell. And the day before
(01:03:50):
that we had to stand back and say, you gotta
figure it out. Because as much instruction where I'm here
for you. I'm here for you. I'm teaching, I'm teaching.
I'm pouring into you. I'm poured into you. And they're learning,
they're learning, they're soaking it up, they're soaking it up.
But past a certain point, I don't know how much
(01:04:15):
you've absorbed until I step back and I allow you
to try to put it to practice. It's no different
than if you go to if you go to college
or anything like that. If you start a new job,
there's a training period. Once you get out of that
training period, yeah they're gonna walk with you a little bit.
But there comes a time where, if you like, if
(01:04:37):
I love you enough, and if I'm a good teacher,
I have to pull back to see what you've absorbed.
And so there's times where and I've failed that test
many times where I'm like, you know, God, I'm so blessed,
thank you so much. Oh like, oh, you're just so
good to And it's like first time a trial comes,
(01:04:58):
I'm like, you know, and I just shank, you know,
to the left or the right. And so when you're
going through those trials, God never leaves us. He always
leaves you an out. And again, you know, We talked
about the Devil's tactics an episode or two back. I
was gonna move into this and then we're supposed to
(01:05:19):
wrap up on this episode the enemy attacked. But but yeah,
like I'm my goal is to try to wrap us
up next episode, technological issues or not. But I hope
that you guys have been blessed. Me and Chris are
absolutely pouring our hearts into these episodes. We're working with
(01:05:42):
the cards that we've been dealt. I'm looking I'm so
looking forward to his series on Don't you Judge Me.
But the enemy is still attacking this.
Speaker 3 (01:05:53):
This, which means that means that we have business that
needs to be attended to on this this subject because
it's been absolutely.
Speaker 2 (01:06:05):
Just attacking war. Yeah, it's just been war. So but
that's all I have, that's all Chris has. I am
Big Drew.
Speaker 1 (01:06:18):
Skie and I am Chris.
Speaker 2 (01:06:20):
And this has been the unreligious podcast. Y'all take it easy.
