Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, guys, what is up? Big Drew Ski here? I
wanted to come in and I guess give you guys
an announcement. I'm gonna try to keep it short, sweetly
to the point. But so here's the thing, Okay, me
and Chris are both just completely exhausted and burned out.
(00:25):
You know, we've done I believe forty four episodes. We
actually recorded one that hasn't dropped yet because you know,
we didn't want to stop right in the middle of
the series. But the facts are, me and Chris are
both completely exhausted, We're burned out, and we just we
(00:50):
need to take a break for a while. But I
do also have to say, you know, we're gonna take
a break for a while, but also so it could
be a permanent break, don't We don't know yet. We're
just gonna kind of take a break and see what happens.
(01:10):
It's not anything that you know, you guys did, or
me and Chris did. We're not arguing or anything like that.
We still talk, you know, on a weekly basis. It's
just we're just tired, burned out. I mean, he's got
stuff that he's involved with in his church. I've got
stuff I'm involved with in my church, you know, my family,
my job, you know, just on both sides. We just
(01:34):
we have a lot of stuff going on, and it's
become increasingly difficult for us to get together and meet
up to essentially record an episode. I've been working late,
you know, I've not even been getting off till seven
seven thirty most nights here lately. And I live thirty
minutes away from home, so it's like every well, sorry,
(01:56):
I live thirty minutes away from work, so it's like
by the time I get off from work, drive home,
you know, get showered up, scar food, and it's like
all right, kiss, kiss mama, kiss babies, and start getting
ready for podcasts. And you know, Chris has got a
lot of stuff going on, you know, him and his
(02:17):
wife are active in their church and everything. It's just
it's just getting to the point where, you know, for
us to even be able to get together once a
week and record an episode. But then you know, coming
up with topics and studying and all that stuff, and
you know, so it's just been difficult. So we have
(02:41):
decided and we wanted to hop on here and do
this episode together, but our schedules just didn't permit. But
we have decided that, you know, we're we're gonna take
a break for a while, maybe permanently, maybe not. Okay.
And what I mean by that, well, me and Chris,
(03:02):
like I said, we're burned out, so we just need
to take a break. And that could be a few weeks,
it could be a month or two or seven, or
it could be a year or two, could be permanently,
we don't know. We're just gonna sit there and we're
gonna pray through it. Me and him is gonna talk.
(03:23):
Now what does that mean for you guys? Okay, Well, obviously,
you know, I understand you're not necessarily going to come
back and check every single week or whatever. Now, if
you're subscribed, you should get a notification when we eventually
do drop a new episode, So don't unsubscribe. But the
(03:45):
best thing to do is to follow our social media,
the Unreligious Facebook page. If there's any updates, we'll give
them there. But what I'm gonna tell you guys is
is I'm gonna have you guys pray okay for a
few things. For one And like I said, I can't
stress this enough. Me and Chris are We're still friends.
(04:07):
We still talk. There's absolutely nothing, nothing happened. It's not
like we got mad and split up. And you know,
literally we just both We've always been on the same page.
And that's what I love about our friendship. We've always
been on the same page. Literally, literally, we are both
(04:27):
just burned out and done. We need to take a break,
a sabbatical and to be honest with you, like I said,
I don't know where my ministry is gonna take me.
I don't know where his ministry is gonna take him.
Could be permanent, okay, but we need you guys just
to pray for me and Chris. First off, that in
(04:48):
this sabbatical that God will give us guidance on if
we need to bring it back or not. Also pray
that you know, God will give us guid that's on
how to bring it back. You know, we considered maybe
switching up formats. That was a possibility, you know, doing
(05:10):
something a little different and doing more of like an
open air conversation or whatever, or you know. So the
second thing is I want you guys to pray for
the listeners. I know some of you are probably going
to be very upset when we understand that we're not
trying to upset anybody. But at the same time, the
(05:34):
last thing that we want to do is just kind
of go through the motions. And there's just something that
me and Chris don't want to do. We don't want
to just get on here to get on here, because
that's what we do and we're just going to keep
doing it. But pray for the listeners that everybody that's
got something out of this, that they'll continue to listen.
(05:56):
I hope you continue to listen. I hope you say, well,
in the meantime, I'll just go back to episode one
and listen all the way back through, you know. So Also,
one thing I'm going to ask you, guys, is if
you were a true fan of the show and you
enjoyed it, you enjoyed every episode, you try to listen
(06:17):
to every episode, you enjoyed every second of it. Okay,
I want to say one thing. First off, I need
you guys to understand that you know, when me and Chris,
when me and Chris are doing these and I understand
most podcasts, you know, are just podcasts, but like for
(06:41):
me and Chris, we enjoy the interaction. That's that's the
number one thing that we enjoy. I myself am also
a content creator. So I love the interaction because that
gives us a pulse on what we're doing that you
like and what we're doing that you don't like. Okay,
so I'm going to ask you to send us an
(07:04):
email at the Unreligious Podcast at gmail dot com. Send
us an email and let us know. Hey, just you know,
if you want to say an encouraging word, cool, but
just say, hey, this is what I really enjoyed that
you guys did. This is something that you know, maybe
(07:26):
in the future, if you re format your show, maybe
consider this. And I mean, it doesn't matter what it is,
whatever it is that you know you liked or didn't like,
let us know, because to be honest with you, I
think whether or not we do come back is going
to depend on, you know, if we feel like anybody
(07:48):
is even necessarily going to care if we do come
back or not. If there's essentially no response, I think
that that's gonna be telling enough. Right. So, now I
know you guys listening, you talk to us in person.
You know a lot of you guys. You know, I've
had several people come up and say, oh, dude, I
(08:10):
really liked that episode where you guys talked about this
or that, you know, and so we have got some feedback.
But yeah, just you know, we love you guys. If
one person's life was touched with this podcast, it was
all worth it. But like I said, me and Chris
just need a break, and you know, we're just burned
(08:31):
out now. I personally, I have considered starting kind of
a side thing, you know, just because you know, if
I need to go do it at four or five
in the morning or something I can in my free
time or whatever. Don't know that I will. But I mean,
(08:51):
if you want to keep up with my stuff, you know,
you can follow me on Facebook Big drew Ski. Actually
I'm sorry. I think it's rare Drewski now r e
v dot Drewski. I've got like twenty four thousand is followers. Chris,
to be honest with you, I did not ask him.
(09:11):
I did not ask him permission to put his Facebook
out there before I did this. So I'm gonna put
a pen in that for now. Right now. Just go
follow us at the Unreligious Podcast on Facebook. And what
I will do is I will ask him if he
wants me to put his profile out there, and you
(09:34):
can follow him there. If not, all right, I tell
you what you can do as well is if you
want to get if you want to stay in contact
with us, just send us an email at the Unreligious
at gmail dot com or the Unreligious Podcast at gmail
dot com. Sorry, I still run the email, so like
I will still get emails if you have prayer request
(09:57):
or anything like that. But yeah, just you know, again,
I didn't want to leave you guys hanging. I wanted
to make sure to give you guys closure. And again,
like I said, who knows, we might come back, you know,
next week, It could be a year from now. Team.
You know, I don't know. I don't know what the
future is going to hold. But it was a pleasure
(10:20):
and a privilege and I enjoyed every second of it.
And I hope that you guys enjoyed it. And like
I said, just you know, reach out on our socials
on our Facebook there and you know, let us know
what you like, what you didn't like, or send us
an email whatever. One other thing that I have to
(10:43):
say is, you know, with the news of the assassination
of Charlie Kirk last week, that was earth shattering for
me and Chris. That was earth shattering for me personally.
(11:06):
You know, that was like the voice of my generation, right,
you know, Charlie Kirk. Yeah, he had some strong opinions
about politics and stuff. But for me, the thing that
I resonate with him most though, is how strong he
declared his faith and proclaimed his faith, and you know,
(11:29):
for me, he was kind of the voice of my generation.
I'm thirty four, he's thirty one. You know a lot
of people were saying he was on track to be
like the next Billy Graham, and a lot of people
said that there wasn't gonna be another Billy Graham because
he's just had that much impact. And then you know,
Charlie Kirk came came along and everything just sort of changed. So, yeah,
(11:57):
my thoughts and prayers are with his family. Uh. It
shook me. It shook me to my court, It really did.
And me and Chris both are kind of reeling from this,
and I know a lot of you guys are going
through stuff and it is unfortunate. I feel like that
we sort of did take a break when we did,
(12:19):
because me and Chris had already decided to take a break.
As a matter of fact, I believe when all that
that happened that same day. I believe that we were
actually I think me and Chris had talked that morning,
as a matter of fact, and we talked that morning,
(12:42):
and then that happened later on that day. So I
do want to point out that, you know, the assassinate
of Charlie Kirk, of the assassination of Charlie Kirk had
nothing to do with this. We had already decided that
it was just kind of an unfortunate timing. I do
know that extent a lot of you guys are kind
(13:02):
of seeking and searching and maybe going back to church
for the first time and all that, and so I
guess one thing that I would say, and I believe
Chris agrees with me, if you guys have listened to
our podcast, I don't believe that God did that. I
believe that was an unfortunate side effect of free will,
(13:24):
which is truly unfortunate. You know, God gave us free will,
and it's you know, some people use free will differently
than others, and it's a terrible, terrible thing. I believe
that God's told us that he would make all things
good no matter what it is. It doesn't matter how
(13:46):
bad it is God can make it good, and God
will make it good. You know, he delivers on his promises.
So as terrible as this is, I know, I've heard
several people say, you know, I don't know why God
did this, you know whatever, I don't think that God
did this. I don't. I mean, you know, I don't
(14:06):
think that God would do that to one of his children.
They you know, we could we can get into a
deep philosophical debate or theological debate on you know, God
allowing things to happen. You know, maybe he could have
jammed the gun or something could have happened or whatever.
(14:29):
But I also think, you know, I've read more and
more and more about how there's a lot of people
that have like premonitions and bad feelings and things like that.
And there was videos of the shooter on the rooftop
before everything happened, and somebody was like, you know, oh,
is that is that somebody on the roof or whatever?
And so who knows. God could have whispered in people's ear,
(14:51):
and you know, no one listened to the whispers. We
don't know. We won't know until we get on the
other side of heaven. But what I can say is
that that Charlie's death has sparked a revival. There's a
lot of people that's, you know, on the left side
of the table, like I just can't support this, seeing
(15:13):
how people has reacted. Cheering for something like that is
just evil and I no longer identify with the left
side of the table. I'm going to the other side.
There's people that are not religious at all that are
picking up bibles. There's people that are not religious at
(15:34):
all that are going to church. There's people that haven't
went to church in twenty years that's going to church.
There is a revival happening. And again, I think God
makes all things good. But that being said, you know,
we need to pray for this country, we need to
pray for those that persecute us, we need to love everybody.
(15:58):
That is all part of this. And to be honest
with you, I think that the fact that you know,
Christians aren't out in the streets riding, eluding and burning
stuff down and you know they're holding prayer visuals of peace,
I think speaks volumes. And I think that it's just
(16:22):
one of those things where I think sometimes we say
it best when we say nothing at all. And I
think we react best when we don't react at all,
and I think that speaks volumes. And I know there's
a lot of people that's like, well, you know, we
(16:43):
should take to the streets and we shouldn't take this
line down, and it's like, I get it, But to
be honest with you, a lot of the people that
I've seen, a lot of people that I've talked to
and whatever seen on social media, they have been overwhelmingly
impacted by the way that Charlie Kirk's supporters have handled this.
(17:10):
They're not out burning stuff in the streets, they're not outriding,
they're not looting businesses or anything like that. And then
also they're impacted by, you know, how the left side
of the table has handled this. They're like, how could
you sit there and cheer that he was a husband,
he was a father, he was this snap. It's a
bad look. They see the evil and the demonic oppression.
(17:34):
They see it and they're like, I can't support this,
so pray for our country. I know you guys are
most likely going through a lot, but it just wouldn't
be right for me to, you know, hop on here
announce that we were taking a break and then not
say something about that, So I just felt lad to
(17:55):
do that. But until next time, whenever that may be,
I am Big Drewski And this is quite possibly the
last quote unquote episode of the Unreligious podcast. You'all take
care of
