(00:03):
Hey, it's way, and you'relistening to Untethered and Prosperous, the podcast
where we focus on the two biggestthings passionate, purpose driven entrepreneurs need to
untether to become wildly prosperous and successfullyhappy. And those two huge anchors are
bad money stories and chronic self sabotage. So what we do is have real

(00:24):
and inspiring conversations with amazing entrepreneurs whohave done just that. So get ready
to get untethered and get prosperous.Hey, it's way, and welcome to
another episode of the Untethered and Prosperouspodcast, which is all about helping you
untether from the shackles of what's beenholding you back from life, such as

(00:46):
bad money stories or chronic self sabotage. And yes, once again we have
another eight minute mic drop from oneof our upcoming amazing guests to drop you
a quick tip or strategy to helpyou become more untethered, or become more
prosperous, or maybe something all ofthe above in the context of what they
do to help other human beings likeyou. And today we have Vanessa Anderson

(01:10):
for the eight minute might drop.I won't go into too much. But
she helps entrepreneurs. You know I, in all sense of the word,
do exactly what we inspire you todo. Up level untethered, become more
prosperous, but really step into whatyou're all about with your purpose, you're
vision, and your message. Anyway, I won't go into too much because
to hear that you need to hitlisten to the full episode. Right So,

(01:30):
Vanessa, welcome to the show. You have eight minutes or less to
drop an amazing tip or strategy forour audience out there. Hi, thank
you for having me. Okay,I would say the number one and solely
my best tip to becoming untethered andreally being prosperous in your own right is

(01:52):
drowning out the opinions and noise ofothers. We live in a society right
now where we're constantly consuming, consumingonline, consuming audio, consuming visual.
You're consuming this podcast right now, which is great. Getting bite sized pieces
of information is so helpful, Butat the end of the day, it's

(02:13):
you and only you and your opinionthat matters. Because you are the visionary.
You are what's going to push forwardthe vision that you set forth,
and in order to do that, you have to tap into you and your
voice. So that's my tip, super simple but straightforward. Yeah, And
it's interesting that you use the worddrown it's like almost like you know,

(02:37):
out damn spot, but not soviscerally, not so negatively. But what
do you mean by drown What issomething that they can do to drown that
out? Now? Mind you?Yeah, don't drown out this podcast because
then you'll know tip exactly exactly.Well, I mean, there's a couple
different ways, but my best wayis you know, when you're talking to

(02:58):
someone or you're you're getting advice orfeedback from someone, you're going to take
that in respectfully and take what youneed. But at the end of the
day, how you drown that outis go back to your north star,
talk to yourself and tell yourself, what is it that I want? What
is my purpose? What am Idoing? Why am I here? Why

(03:19):
am I doing this? And usethat as you're guiding path and your guiding
light to continue to push forward, because sometimes that feedback isn't really alignment with
what your end goal is or whatyou want to do, or what your
passion or what your you know yourpurpose is, and those people that you're
receiving feedback or information or tips. They don't know that guiding star. They

(03:40):
don't know that north star, thatend goal you do? You know it
front and back. I love that. So I say this all the time
to our O, my clients, our clients is yeah, you have to
have a true north right that that'swhat keeps you, keeps you from getting
pulled too far off your path. Now, obviously there are times when we
do talk to people who are theirtheir opinions or their advice, so to

(04:04):
speak. Like my mentors and coachesare to be heated, are in alignment,
right, So how how does someonedistinguish between that? You know?
Because no, because there's certain thing. You don't want to drown out everything,
right, You want to drown outthings that are in alignment with your
true north right right, agreed,Agreed. And that's such a great question.
Because your coaches and your mentors arethere for a reason. You selected

(04:27):
them, You decided to work withthem for a reason, and tap into
that reason, right, you havethat open collaboration that is there. They're
there to provide you insights, they'rethere to help you and guide you on
thought, leadership, on future. However, how you can decipher what you're
going to take in and what youwon't is only you know what's inside.

(04:49):
So maybe something isn't is unsettling orsomething that they said you're just still unshore
about. Go back to the drawingboard and have that open discussion and say,
hey, this is not really inalignment with what I know to be
true, but also still be openminded because they may give you feedback it's
like, oh, I didn't thinkabout that perspective, but still it's still
in alignment with you or a northstar and what you want. So there

(05:14):
is that balance in that openness thatyou have to have with your mentors and
with your coaches. But when Imean drown out, it's just you're not
just going to continue to shift, you know, zig one way and zig
another and just kind of, youknow, go in different direction all the
time, because then you won't getanywhere. But that exactly exactly, that's

(05:35):
right. No. I love thisbecause I think that's that seems to be
a big challenge with a lot ofentrepreneurs, even those that are making six,
seven, eight figures, even becausethey find themselves waking up one day
zig zagging all over the place, burning out, and yeah, they're making
a lot of money, but they'rethey're not very clear what they're true north
is. And I think one ofthe things that helps them to accelerate to

(05:58):
a greater state of prosperous exist businessnot necessarily only dictated by money, is
to get clear on what that northis. And so I think the secret
message behind your microp strategy is thatwe're it's not about drowning out everything,
right because as obviously when we aren'tclear about our true north, then it's
that's when we don't listen to itbecause we can't align with it, we

(06:19):
can't trust it because it's unclear. So what I'm getting from what you're saying
is this is that to discern betweenwhat you drawn out and what you allow
in is about making sure that youare super clear about why you're here,
those questions that you ask, likewhat's your purpose, why do you why,
what is it that you want todo? Why you're here, and

(06:39):
that then allowing that to get crystalclear about your true north by your your
your compass right yes, yes,and allowing that to guide you continue to
lean into that and be so intune with that because only you are the
person that's the gatekeeper of that andthe holder of that, and you are

(07:00):
the only one that really sees itmore than anybody. Yeah. I love
that you said leaning in because that'sanother thing too. It's like, so
what if you get clear, butif you don't trust it, if you
don't align yourself with it, thenit's just a shiny object. That's it's
like an obelist that's sitting there guidingnothing to nowhere. Yes, yes,
it is difficult. It is difficult. It's not easy. But having that

(07:20):
blind faith to lean in, yes, exactly. I think we call that
courage. But I think we talkedabout that in your main episode. So
I think with a s where weshould stop because otherwise we're just gonna give
away the whole episode. That's abeautiful that's a beautiful, multilayered simple mic
drop. And you know what,I think it's enough for people too on
for at least a week or twobefore your main episode drops. So thank

(07:42):
you so much for that. Youcan now drop the mic, you can
leave the room. See you onthe video still, why are you still
here? Okay? Anyway, Vanessa, thank you so much for that.
Now, if you're listening today andyou said, oh, that's actually really
good. I need to sit downwith those questions. Listen to it again,
write those questions down, go throughthat. Give yourself a week or
too, because when the next episodedrops, her full episode, you want
