(00:25):
inspiring conversations with amazing entrepreneurs who havedone just that. So get ready to
get untethered and get prosperous. Hey, it's Wayne. Welcome to another episode
of the Untethered End Prosperous podcast. And once again we have an eight minute
or less mic drop from an upcomingguest on our show. Her name is
(00:46):
Julie Wenger, and I'm not goingto go in too much, but she's
a coach, author and speaker andpodcaster. But she is going to drop
a tip or strategy that you wantto pay attention to before her full episodes
drops. So Julie, welcome tothe show. Take it away. What
is that tape or strategy to helppeople become more untethered and prosperous. Well,
(01:07):
one of the things that I seepeople struggle with the most is comparison.
We're always looking at what is everyoneelse doing? How am I comparing
my own worth, my own value, my own enoughness against other people?
How am I getting that validation fromoutside? And so the thing we need
to understand about comparison is that it'slinked to this checklist for enoughness. And
(01:32):
the question I always ask people isthis, where could you finally and fully
be enough? What would that looklike? And if you think about it
for a minute, then think aboutthis, does it stop moving or is
it a moving target? The enoughnessis always this thing that it creeps,
and it keeps shifting, and itkeeps moving, and there's always something getting
(01:55):
added to it. And so westart looking at person from that angle,
we can see how it doesn't serveus. We can see how we're always
going to be chasing someone else's standards, someone else's story, someone else's box
of what does enoughness look like? That they built and we bought. So
the opportunity instead is to start toget curious about seat of this gap that
(02:19):
is comparison between here's where I amand here's where I think I'm supposed to
be compared to other people? Wheream I right now? And what is
it that I if I really getcurious about what's inside of me and what
I'm passionate about, where is itthat I'm called to? And that's the
capability gap side. That's a sidewhere we build a goal post of what
(02:44):
we're working towards. We're growing towardsand building towards that is not based in
other people's shoulds and other people's stories, and it's building something that is ultimately
achievable and it requires us to grow, but it has us pointed in the
right direction. So we're working towardssomething that's actually going to fulfill us.
We're working towards something that's aligned withus in integrity for us, instead of
(03:08):
just chasing after someone else's thing, because ultimately you'll never find success there.
Right, it's like a drug, right that we're constantly chasing after. And
it's and it has less to dowith us than what we've been kind of
indoctrinated to do as a reason forour daily grind, so to speak,
(03:31):
or constantly doing what we're doing. That comparison piece is such a got a
big success killer, I would say, for a lot of people. And
so let's break it down again. So what you would ask the question that
first question is about what does itlook like? Or when is it going
to be enough? Or when wouldit finally and fully be enough? And
(03:54):
what does that look like? Isthat a moving target? And by comparison,
what are the what are the thingsthat you feel pulled towards? What
are the things that you're passionate aboutthat are not based on someone else telling
you what your life is supposed tolook like. So it's that curiosity that
(04:15):
opens things up. Yeah, that'sbeautiful because you know when I years ago,
when I asked that question or wasasked that question, I couldn't answer
it. I couldn't answer it.I was like, I don't I don't
know. I don't even know whatthat I don't even know it is.
And I think it's for me.The story that A stem from was that
I was never enough, I wasnever good enough, and so why could
(04:38):
I even perceive what is enough? And what does that? Even then it
got to a point where was Idon't even know what that word means anymore.
But this is the thing, okay, and this is the focus I
think for people And where it landedfor me too is I had someone asked
me well, what is enough? Can you define it? And I couldn't,
(04:59):
and I started to realize enoughness isactually an illusion. It doesn't exist.
So we're chasing something that isn't real. It's just a combination of stories
and things we buy into, butit's just an illusion that we've created,
and then we've built our lives untilwe wake up. We've built our lives
(05:23):
after chasing and working towards and buildingtowards, and then we wonder why we're
burnt out because it just never stops. It sounds like you have some personal
experience around this piece or something likethat, maybe a lot. And here
I am thinking I'm the unicorn ofjust like not knowing how to answer enough
you two great thanks. You knowI no longer am a unicorn. Great
(05:46):
common humanity for the wind right there. Well, I think that's a good
