(00:00):
Alright, guys.
Welcome back to the Vanasore podcast.
That's right.
This is our brand new podcast.
For we we call this, exploring class BRVsOverlanding And Van Life culture.
Everything about it, we're gonna get all upinto it right now.
Joining me live from Utah, I believe, is Yep.
(00:21):
Rob of Overland Gear Guy.
Rob, good seeing you again, man.
Man, good seeing you.
Yeah.
Same here.
The
Appreciate having you having me on.
Oh, you're you're absolutely welcome, man.
Is episode 3.
This is episode 3.
So just some quick, stuff going on here.
We're actually gonna start putting out the Wewanted to get a couple of episodes together,
(00:43):
and that audio will start going out here oniTunes, very shortly since we've got the third
one.
The, trifecta, the best one so far from Rob.
At least I made it on time.
Absolutely, man.
No.
You did you did great, man.
It's good seeing you again.
I was just saying in the background that Ihaven't seen you since Overland West in
(01:08):
Flagstaff.
And that was a nutshell, man.
You wanna, you know, just start a little bit ofthat, and then we'll do some, background on who
you are for the folks who don't know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That was that was actually a a record settingshow.
And, you know, despite we had, what, 6, 7 hoursof rain.
Yep.
Hale.
We had hail.
(01:30):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Several times.
It ended up a a really good show.
It was It was, you know, a lot of a lot of newpeople there and stuff.
And, you know, and it's I love going to thoseshows because you get to see people you've met
years past.
And stuff like that.
And then people that have have bought thisstuff and say, hey.
You know, I I really like this and and, youknow, have you thought about changing and doing
(01:50):
this?
And that's where we get so many ideas, youknow, for for different products.
And we can weigh really good ones from thatshow.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
One of the things that I really like about you,Ron, is that, you know, at first of all, you
are you're a van guy, you know, you you dothis.
You don't just make the gear.
You this stuff, and you're always interestedbecause there's so many different kinds of vans
(02:14):
out there.
And for that matter, overlanding rigs, etcetera.
So you're always interested in what people arelooking for.
Right?
Exactly.
Yeah.
I I I think it makes a difference.
You know, before I before I got the van, youknow, I was like, oh, this would probably be a
good idea or or whatever.
But after using it and and using it for awhile, it's like, okay.
(02:37):
This is a exactly what I need.
You know, I need I need something for thispart, you know, for for this box and and and
stuff like that.
But unless you're using it and and and, youknow, have access to it like that all the time.
I I think it's really hard to come up with theproducts that work for the, you know, for
everybody.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Shout out to Log Zemath right there.
(02:58):
There you go.
If your people want Shout out to I'll give youshout outs.
I don't care.
If you guys have questions, you know, about thechannel, videos, and things like that, that we
put up.
Big thanks to everyone who was looking at thevideo where I let a tire blow up on my van.
We're gonna talk about some of that here whenwe get into gear, but what I wanted to ask Rob,
(03:20):
if you could just tell the folks out there, just give them a little primer on who you are,
how you came, to to Overland gear guy makemaking bags and and, different accessories for
folks.
Sure.
Sure.
So let me let me give you a little theirbackground of of when I started, I've been
sewing, gear for, like, 32 years, and itstarted with my other company called the Best
(03:43):
guy.
And, So I did police military emergencyservices.
Did that for for a number of years.
And then about 4 years ago, I met a guy down ina in a Moab down at Canyon National Park.
He's seen the vest I was wearing and and hesays, take make a seat organizer for my camera
gear.
He was, he photographs some, like, tough mud orspartan razors and stuff like that.
(04:07):
And it's like, sure.
Sure.
Mhmm.
So, made that up, and, and he says, hey.
I'm gonna be at this Overland East.
He's in, and he says, you wanna meet me there?
And I don't even know what Overland means.
I really, I, you know, and, so I went backthere and met him and and hung out with him for
a couple weeks.
And, I started looking.
(04:27):
I was like, oh my goodness.
I'm already making a bunch of these productsjust for different application.
Ins.
Right.
So I thought, okay.
You know, I can I can I can do all these?
So, came up with the name, within, a week.
We had products on the website and and sellingstuff, but, it was just, you know, it's how I
(04:47):
how I fell into the over and stuff is is isabout as easy as how I fell into the, you know,
the stuff for the best and stuff like that.
So Yeah.
It's it's pretty it's pretty cool how how ithappened like up.
Yeah.
And you're making every so, by the way, I've Iactually use Overland Gear God stuff.
Right?
And, here, Here's an example of this isactually I'm gonna it's a garbage bin or pale.
(05:12):
I don't know how people wanna say it, but youyou can open this here, put see it's got a
actual, container inside.
So if you, you know, put wet things in there, they won't fill out and make a mess in the bag.
This is really cool.
And the thing about it is you've got all thesehooks and things.
You could just hang it in different places.
So I use that also, I've got, so the windows, this is a thing about a van like you were
(05:38):
saying.
There's so many different things that you need.
So our window like you can see one behind me.
The the sun here in Florida is a big enemy.
Right?
It gets real hot.
You wanna keep the heat out of your van.
So you can control the temperature.
So Oberland gear guy actually made some here.
My van is a Coachman Beyond, which is a FordStrange, and you measured these out.
(06:00):
And I think if people have a similar van, youcan do this.
You can also customize stuff.
Right?
Exactly.
Yep.
Okay.
Yeah.
So there's so many that so many differentthings out there.
Log Samont was saying that the tire thing wascrazy.
And in that situation, for example, I've beenlooking for a tool role where I can keep tools
(06:21):
for when stuff comes up, you know, like, Idon't think you know, obviously, there are
tools here in the vehicle already, And I knewhow to get to those, and we, and we wound up
getting to it, but I don't carry a full sizespare, and I don't have a I have like a little
tool thing with me, but I wanna start carryingmore tools.
There's always reasons that and things that youneed to packaway in store, especially in a van,
(06:46):
that, you know, you never really have enoughroom, but if you don't have these things with
you, they don't really help, you know, youdon't have any way of, you can't do anything
about it.
You gotta wait for someone to rescue you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
For And it and it's not it you know, you'reyou're always out there on the road and you're
finding people in the backcountry and stuff andand maybe, you know, maybe they're not prepared
(07:07):
either.
And and, if have that, you're you're able tohelp somebody else out, you know, as as well as
yourself.
And so it's it's it's good to kinda Hank in thebasics.
I mean, if you have the room, have a lot moretools and, you know, everything worked out.
But, you know
Yeah.
So let's maybe we can start off here just toshow because there's a ton of stuff that that
(07:28):
you have.
Whenever I see you're set up at the at theshow, I'm like, oh, no.
You know, I don't know even where to start, solet's just show some people maybe some new
stuff or cool things, folks, things out therethat, folks find the most useful and always
buying from you.
Let's start with that, and I'll go full screenon you here.
Sure.
Sure.
So, I I mean, like, some of the stuff, it wecame out with a tool wrap tool roll down there,
(07:54):
and Flagstaff.
And then we have 2 different versions.
1, all the pockets are sewn on, and and thenthe other ones are Velcro.
So if you wanted a certain power, if you just, you know, unvilcro that, take it over, you
know, do what you need to do, and you're notnot having to pack the whole thing over and
stuff.
Like that.
That was a that was a real, you know, a realgood product for us down there.
(08:15):
While we were down there, somebody came up andsaid, hey.
Do you make a a pouch for this Geyser shower?
I was like, you know, to be totally honest, I Ihadn't even heard of that for.
And Oh, no.
No.
No.
I I mean, I've I've got different, you know,shower systems and stuff.
Nothing as a lab is that.
Mhmm.
And I went down to the Geyser booth, and Isaid, hey, you know, could you have one here
(08:36):
that that I could take with me for a sample?
And they gave me one, you know, just like, sure.
And came back and made it.
And, I mean, we have sold dozens dozens dozensdozens of those not back.
So
Do you have one there?
Because Lola and I bought a Geyser after theshow.
Oh, did you?
Yeah.
We were looking at the demo there, and we'relike, you know what?
(08:57):
This is a because it's a really for anyone whodoesn't know, maybe I'll I'll try to, pull that
up so you guys can see what it is.
Basically, it's this device that, either youcan heat up water and put it in it, or it'll
heat the water up for you.
And then you can use that to sponge bathyourself off so you don't use a lot of water
but you can get clean at the same time.
(09:18):
To me, really cool.
It's been out for a little while, and, that'sthat's, you know, interesting that you, you
know, that you found that.
Do you have that?
Do you have that bag there?
Let me, I Hank, see it.
There's supposed to be one right here.
Okay.
And then I'll go, Oh, here it is.
(09:38):
I'll go strain on you here so we could showthat off to people that you can never have
enough gear.
Never enough gear.
So here you go.
Okay.
So have 22 pockets on the front mesh so you're,you put your nozzle and your sponges and stuff,
in here.
In that way, it'll dry out and stuff.
And little slip pockets back here.
Comes with the little name tag on the frontthere, but, yeah, it's just, you know, just
(10:01):
drops right in there.
I think I have.
Actually, yeah.
Hang on.
Mhmm.
And if, let me see here.
I could probably really go to my phone and showyou guys what we're talking about.
So this is the Geyser System portable shower, and you can get quite a few different places,
including REI.
Lola and I got hours from REI.
(10:22):
So it's this system here.
You can use it to clean to clean yourself off.
To bay basically shower.
You can use it to wash dishes, etcetera.
And, it's it really helps you to conserve youknow, conserve water.
So I I'm a fan of it.
Let's go back to Rob.
There you go.
Okay.
So you just put one in.
Sorry about that.
(10:42):
Yeah.
Missed that part.
Right.
Yeah.
There
you go.
Oh, cool.
Yeah.
Just just drops in there like that.
And then, you know, like I said, the rest of itgoes there, but it's just It's it's just so
cool that, you know, a product I'd never even, you know, thought about or or anything like
that.
Like, you know, hey.
Do you make it back for that?
Yeah.
And, and that's kinda been true with, like, somebody said, they didn't wanted a Coleman
(11:07):
oven pouch.
Okay.
I I made the Coleman Vern, you know, like a 2burner couches.
We've made those for years.
Uh-huh.
And so, boom, it just got got one of those andstart making those.
And
Yeah.
And then There's so much stuff.
You're always constantly, you know, you'retrying to find place to put these things or,
like, the Geyser, you might wanna take thatwith you if you're going away from your
(11:30):
vehicle.
You know, you're, like, walking in somewheredeeper and you want to camp out there, but you
also wanna be clean.
So, you can filter the water out, put it intothat, all that kind of stuff.
You're gonna show give us another demo here, though.
Yeah.
Well, it's got carry handle like this, and thenthe shoulder strap Yeah.
Like this, you know, throw it over like that.
But
then Yeah.
(11:52):
That's that's very cool.
What's this what's this other thing you weregonna show us?
Oh, so the the fire can bag so you've seen it.
It's basically an ammo box and, you know, it'sit's a it's a little, a little stove.
And, I had a couple of people on Instagram say, hey.
You can make a bag for those.
And I was like, I can.
So I went out and went up to REI and bought thebought the fire can and came back and made the
(12:16):
Mhmm.
A bag for it.
And, you know, again, that was a super big hitdown at the, overland Expo West.
Mhmm.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There's just just I I I I can't express topeople enough.
If you're if you have a van out there, whetheryou bought it from a company that built it up
for you or you built it up yourself, you alwaysneed to figure out where you're gonna put
(12:38):
things, store them safely so they're not movingaround.
And, you know, where they are, all of that.
And you you do have a van.
That's the thumbnail.
That van in the thumbnail, of this video.
Let me I think I could pull it up here.
That van in the thumbnail is your van.
Yes.
Yes.
Let's see.
I think I can go back here and pull that up toshow to folks.
(13:02):
Now, is this a van that you built spots?
What do we You know?
So so it's it's it's totally my design.
I I just didn't want to be like every other vanout there, you know, the you know, the people
that mass produce them and and stuff.
I just didn't wanna look like.
I I wanted my own field.
(13:23):
There's a lot of things inside the van thatMhmm.
I didn't, you know, as as far as, you know, a ashower and and and let me back to that in a
little bit, but, you know, the the the theshower, the toilet, it's just things like that.
Wasn't wasn't, you know, what I wanted.
So, you know, like, a custom, designed it.
(13:45):
That was a long process of of of getting itdone by I got it done here in Utah.
And, you know, it turned out turned out nice.
And and it's it's there's really nothing that Iwould would would probably change on it other
than maybe making a pass through from the, youknow, front area to the garage itself.
Other than that, I don't, I don't think there'sanything that that I would change.
(14:08):
Okay.
So if I could just get to some, I'll, you know,I'll throw up some questions myself while we're
waiting for folks to ask us some gear questionsfrom you, you know, talk a little bit about how
and where you guy you guys make all this gear.
Who actually makes it?
So just in the other room here, and and if youwant, we can we can take a a quick spin in
(14:29):
there, and I
can show
you making stuff like that, but, it's all madein North Salt Lake.
Well, it's it's all made in Utah.
I've got people that, that sow out of theirhouse And, when COVID happened, people like,
you know, hey, I I mean, you need to work, butI don't wanna come in and and, you know, be
exposed to, you know, everything.
And So it's like, okay.
(14:49):
I don't really care where you're sewing and ifyou got a commercial machine and stuff.
Mhmm.
So, we've got quite a number of of people thatsew out of their house.
You know, as well as is is in house here.
And right now we have more more stock thanwe've had, you know, in in 31 plus years.
Used to be, you know, a a 5 to 6 week wait andnow really 90% of our orders ship out the same
(15:13):
same day.
Okay.
Very cool.
So, yeah, I don't know if you want to.
You can show us that.
We can we can look at more stuff.
Is there a specific, design philosophy you havewhen you're putting all these things together?
Construction?
You know, how how do you think about thatstuff?
You know, it's it's it's I I kinda like, youknow, how how how would I want?
(15:37):
What will I, you know, carry as far asaccessories and, you know, maybe, keep a manual
in there or, you know, as as far as the, youknow, shower, the nozzle, and the the Strange
is and stuff.
You just want it to be as organized as you canpossibly be because inside the van, you know,
in in any vehicles, you know, Jeeps are jeepsare even worse for, you know, a tighter,
(15:59):
smaller space, you know, of being organized.
So otherwise, you're you're just out theregoing through in less bags and and and stuff
trying to dig through stuff, and it just takesthe fun out of things.
So I I do different colors.
I do the name tags on on all the products.
So it's it's just easy.
I'm showing the website right now.
Yeah.
That is a really good thing.
You you know, for you to be able to label allyour stuff, and you can get a little cheeky.
(16:24):
This is the, I think right here, that's theback.
That's the seatback.
1 of the seatback organizers, you have quite afew of those.
We do.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, you know, there's a lot of differentoptions here.
I think, you know, we could probably we wecould be here forever going over things.
But if you wanna show us something, I'm up to,take a look at whatever you have to show us.
(16:46):
Yeah.
Let's, let let me just take you in the otherroom, and we'll, we'll show you the,
go home walk about.
Where the magic is happening right here.
Yeah.
So as you can see here, we're doing the, ofstuff.
So this is
this is
for the best end of thing.
Oh, okay.
(17:07):
Same as same as over there.
Looks like we've got, some more best comingdown here.
So right here's a Coleman, Coleman, 2 burner,stove pounds.
Okay.
With a lot of photography stuff like that.
But, yeah, so that's, that's kind of where it'sgoing.
(17:29):
Let me let me just take you over here.
So this is kind of our our quality control arearight in here, and and, everything's checked
and and, you know, chalk taken off and thingslike that.
And then this is where everything's cut rightover here.
Stephanie does all that.
(17:49):
Say hi, Steph.
Oh, hey.
How you doing?
Yeah.
That's your daughter.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, yeah, so that's
that's cool.
Those guys were those guys were working reallyhard at the show.
So what's the options here for colors?
You know, when I look at the stuff, I see lotsof different colors.
How do you figure all of that stuff out?
(18:11):
I mean, you can get any product and any one ofthe colors we have like 29, 30 different
colors.
And I mean, just to kinda show you Mhmm.
See if we can we can get down here.
I mean, we got the green, the purple, the red,the navy, yellow, burgundy Okay.
You know, So you can click the drop down menuon the products, probably making everybody
(18:36):
dizzy walking around here.
And Yeah.
And it, you know, whatever, you know, it
it could go really crazy.
So the thing that I will prefer is if folkshad, like, specific questions, we can we can
get into that stuff.
But, you know, if not, I'll I'll just get intothe different things that I'm interested in.
Can people do custom colors and patterns?
(19:01):
Let's say people wanted to do promotionalthings or You know, I mean, we can probably get
really crazy here.
Right?
Yeah.
And and, you know, we do co branding stuff too.
If you wanted to, you know, have have somethingthat, you know, designed up for your for your
company, we can, you know, put your patch onthere or or stuff like that and your own color
scheme.
(19:22):
Yeah.
Yeah.
I one of the things I saw at the show that Ireally liked is you Hank, like, a console that
goes you know, in between the driver and thepassenger seat here, and I would really have to
see if I could switch to my camera so I couldshow people my van just to give you guys an
idea of how crazy everything is and why gear isa big deal to me here.
(19:44):
I will go.
Let me see.
I'll go to I'll go back to my phone here.
And Alright.
So here we go.
So here's my phone.
This is the this is how it's crazy.
Right here.
Right here.
Well, I actually need some I need to figure outwhat I'm gonna do with my gear.
But so right up front there, Right?
See, right here?
There's nothing.
(20:05):
I just and I'm always throwing stuff there.
So one of the things I was looking at when Iwhen we were at the show is, you know,
something there for the center console.
You guys might have already heard Lola andmyself are brand ambassadors for Sunshine State
RV.
And as Vanasource, I wanna take this moment toencourage anyone who is in the market for a
(20:26):
class b van to start their journey with SSRV.
Sunshine State RVs specializes in selling classB vans and B plus RVs.
That is the reason why they are the number onedealer in all of the state of Florida.
Number 3 in the whole United States.
SSRV will fly you right to their location inGainesville, Florida.
They'll give you a very detailed and thoroughwalk through of your van, and they'll give you
(20:51):
a 2 night stay at a local campground so you canget used to your van.
You don't like that, you can actually havehands free delivery anywhere in the United
States of your RV.
We bought our coachman biar from Sunshine StateRV 2 years ago.
And over the past 2 years, we've seen how theytreat customers when it comes to warranty side.
Their service team is great.
(21:11):
Whether you bought it from them or not, everyperson that comes in there gets the same
service and care when it comes to warrantyrepairs.
The same service, attention, and care.
And their team does a great job getting youback on the road safely.
So if you guys are in the market for a B or Bplus van, consider Sunshine State RV.
We've got a link in the description that youguys can use to see their there is a count now
(21:41):
just so we can, you know, help keep time here.
So that so that's what what happened there.
But, yeah, up front here, it's a mess in myvan.
Video wants to see.
So, the sensor console, is that new, or haveyou had that for a while?
We've we've had that for a few years, probablyprobably plus.
Mhmm.
You know, I I I use one in my van because it'sit's I don't go go back and forth a whole lot.
(22:06):
So people always ask, oh, can, you know, canyou still swivel the seats?
Well, with the with the center console, youcannot.
You gotta you gotta remove it.
But with the seat organizers, you can stillswivel, and that's that's always a big question
and stuff.
But Mhmm.
That's such a big, big space to to to not havesomething there, you know, to keep you
organized and and,
yeah, especially when I think, you know, like,if you when you're driving, you going down the
(22:30):
road.
And I know some people looking at this, youknow, are doing research to get some kind of
RV, whether a van or something else, and somepeople already have them, and then they're
trying to figure out how to organize what theyalready have.
You know, when you're going down the road, whenyou're driving, it's it's good to have a bunch
of things right there.
And sometimes you use the seat I find that youcould stop suddenly or do something.
(22:55):
Things go fine all over the place, and, itreally it really becomes, a mess or a
nightmare.
I like to have as many things as I might needwhen I'm actually, you know, on the road trying
to get somewhere as possible, right, you know, where I could grab it if I want too.
So Absolutely.
Yeah.
Let's see.
There was a comment here from day 49.
(23:16):
He says, hello, all from Virginia.
Thank you, Hank Lola, producing shows likethis, roll your own RV is a good way to go.
There you go.
And, last month said that, I don't own an RVjust researching before I buy, I really like
the Beyond and storyteller.
I am open to any advice or suggestions.
Yeah.
Just look.
I would say, I'll I'll give Rob a chance herein a second.
(23:38):
I would say just look at a lot of stuff.
There's a lot of places out there that you cango to and physically see them.
It's good to look at this stuff on YouTube youknow, or on websites, but I think it's even
better to actually physically go and see thesethings.
And look at all the different options and thensee whether or not they fit with you and
whoever else is gonna be traveling with you.
(23:59):
What do you say, Rob?
You know, I I couldn't agree more.
And, I thought before I I I purchased this vanthat that I wanted a 170, the the the longer
version I thought I absolutely have to have abathroom and have to have a shower.
Just, I mean, that was that was zero question.
Mhmm.
Well, when I went and met my buddy back in, inNorth Carolina for Overland East, I I rented a
(24:23):
170.
And, hole right off the bat.
The shower didn't work.
The the the toilet didn't work.
And so 2 2 weeks without, you know, either oneof those.
And so at the end of that, I thought I I madeit just fine, you know, either you go to a
fitness place, and and take a shower, you use atruck stuff, things like that.
(24:43):
But the biggest thing was parking that 170.
You you can't park it in a in a single spot.
And then I got the thing and it's like, okay.
If I can't even park it in in a single lot.
How's it gonna do off road?
I mean, I take mine seriously off road.
I've I've I've been parked and and, had hadsome issues and stuff.
So I'm I'm not one of these guys that just goto the campground and stuff like that.
(25:06):
You know, I wanna go in in the backcountry.
And, so the 144 was was was the, you know, whatI needed, but I always tell people go rent at
least a couple of them, you know, maybe rentrent a Mercedes and and rent rent a Dodge or a
a transit and, and and see what she likedbecause I had those preconceived no of this is
(25:28):
a must.
I I'm not I'm not the one without this.
And I was like, nope.
Didn't need those at all.
Yeah.
It's not one size fits all.
No.
You know?
Yeah.
And it's and unless you you actually go to useit, you don't know what works for you what
doesn't work for you.
Like, for me, I've found that I do need abathroom.
(25:48):
It's really important.
I've got Crohn's disease.
So I like the idea of being able to get abathroom whenever I need to.
Sure.
You know, and, yeah, sometimes you can be youknow, it's America.
In most places, you can you can find thebathroom, but sometimes you're on the road
just, like, on a lonely road or something likethat.
You know?
And it helps to have a bath but you're right.
(26:09):
You know, it needs to work.
And even the size of that, like, I have a rarebath here.
And for as a bigger guy, that works for me.
I really don't like those, a lot of vans thathave bathrooms in it.
It's a side bathroom, and that's just yeah.
Unless you're really small, tiny, skinny, person, man.
Yep.
(26:30):
That's not gonna work.
Mhmm.
It's taking so much valuable real estate inthere that you could use for for other things.
And, you know, some people, it's it's necessaryand and and, you know, it's that's why there's
so many options out there, you know, to forthings like that.
Yeah.
What I talk to the folks who sell this stuffand who see a lot of them come and go, they
tell me most people do not use the bathroom foras a bathroom, use it as storage.
(26:54):
Exactly.
Yeah.
Yep.
So that's just the thing.
And and really and truly, it's gonna come downto the person.
And then like you said, if you want to reallyget out there.
Something that's smaller Hank a smallerfootprint is just gonna be more maneuverable.
So and, and, obviously, you got the, 4 by 4Sprinter.
Yep.
Yeah.
So, did you do a lot of things after that tomake it more off road capable, or how did that
(27:20):
go?
So so this is a really funny story.
I'll I'll try to make it brief as I can, but, II had I had, I'd had a a 2018 that I had used
for a week or so, and, that thing rode like alumber wagon.
I mean, it was just the suspension wasterrible.
It was just it was you know, and then I got Igot the 2019 and it's like, oh, this is smooth
(27:43):
and and the seats are pretty good and and andstuff.
So I thought this is, you know, I don't need todo anything different to it.
Well, over the shows and people coming in inhere to the the showroom, they would always
talk about the, the agile suspension kit.
And it's like, well, I said, I said, mine minejust it's it's fine the way it is.
I it's it's a vast improvement from the 18model.
(28:06):
Mhmm.
And I just kept hearing this more and more.
So it's like, okay.
I I a buddy of mine came in and and, we tookhis out and it's like, okay.
It feels a little different.
Mhmm.
And, so I talked to John down in Agile and and,he sent one up and had it installed here.
And oh my goodness.
The the the first five minutes of driving.
(28:29):
Mhmm.
I like, why did I wait two and a half years?
What was the big what was the big difference?
Like, what was the thing that hit you the mostfrom when you put in that that setup?
Well, so So turning into like like a driveway,a driveway at the house.
You're you're you're kind of off camber likethat.
Well, before, I mean, it's just in this numberand and you hear stuff in the back, you know,
(28:51):
moving all over and it's just jostling you.
And, I I cross roller tracks multiple times aday, and you just hit those and it's just I
mean, it was it was just bad.
Well, I mean, right after putting this on,those went away.
You don't have this major rocking motion.
So, you know, that's my god off road with it.
(29:11):
Like, okay.
I just why didn't I do this years ago?
So I I think that's that's just a hugeimprovement.
So it's well worth, like, the the whole entireinvestment of putting that system in.
Right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
And you did the agile off road system.
So is that, like, self adjusting, or is thatone of those that you can you can switch it
(29:34):
into different modes How does that where Ithere's probably a d a bunch of different
options.
I'll see if I can look it up.
Yeah.
I I I I think
road, I think.
Right?
Yeah.
The one I got, I I don't I don't think itadjusts.
I mean, it was just because because they wantyou to weigh your vehicle before, they they
send you whichever unit So I went down andweighed it.
And, and and that's how they say, okay.
(29:57):
You need this many leaf springs or,
you know, so is this was this more I don't I'mnot sure I'm not sure what it looked like.
Was it more like, Sumo Springs or
it's it's the, the one that you're right there,the 4999.
I think I think that was a
Oh, okay.
So okay.
Hold on.
Let me go back there.
(30:18):
Okay.
So this set up right here.
Yep.
The the the
Okay.
So suspension, system and all of that.
And so it does everything it needs to do itselfthat I'm assuming.
Yeah.
Okay.
So you don't have to really get out and changea bunch of things.
Okay.
Interesting.
Okay.
Yeah.
You know, it's, the listen.
(30:40):
I I think that, it there are people whoimmediately gear up their vehicles for one
reason or another, and then don't really useit, you know, it's really like a street queen.
Does it really go anywhere But if you knowyou're going somewhere and if you especially
have the experience of using whatever it is youhave without that stuff, when you put it on,
(31:02):
you see that it really works, then, yeah, it'sworth the money.
Yep.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
So what do you think?
You know, Mercedes now is not, and I knowthere's different levels of 4 by 4 before
anyone, out there.
Starts talking about that.
I recently did a video at, Overland West with acompany.
(31:22):
I think it's Engelhawk, Allrod.
They do, like, a serious off road system in, inthose Mercedes vans, you know, like beefy and
you actually have, like, a get a shifter andall that kind of stuff.
You know, so that would be your, you know, yourhardcore.
But Very hard for.
(31:42):
Yeah.
You know, so now Mercedes, I Hank, more of whatthey have, I think, is like, you know, all
wheel drive or 4 wheel drive system that youcan put on, but now I think they've gone away
from that.
Right?
Now they're doing all wheel drive And there isno more 4 by 4.
Have you heard about any of that stuff?
I, I, I think I remember hearing somethingabout that.
(32:05):
You know, I, don't know.
I'd Hank to I'd have to drive.
You know what?
Like, an all wheel drive in the snow versus thefour wheel drive to, you know, the snow and the
sand to, you know.
Yeah.
If there's a real difference.
I mean, I I just I can't I can't speak to theall wheel drive, but I'm I'm very happy with
the the 4 wheel capabilities.
(32:25):
Oh, okay.
So you're pretty much you're you're you wouldconsider yourself a, Strange dude.
Right?
Yeah.
You consider have you looked at the otherchassis?
Would you, you know, think of getting somethingelse, or you're you're, stuck on Sprinter?
You know, I I don't anticipate changinganything.
(32:47):
The reason I went with the the the Sprinter tobegin with was the four wheel drive.
And I ended up waiting months months months, you know, to get a 4 wheel drive because at the
time Amazon was was was buying up the market onon the Strange 4 wheel drives.
Mhmm.
And stuff.
You know, I think I think the the ProMaster, Ithink they have the, you know, the all wheel
and and the same with the
(33:08):
Mhmm.
The Strange was still really new back backthen.
Mhmm.
But but I just, you know, I've had four wheeledvehicles most of my life.
I mean, just, you know, dozens of trucks andBroncos and blazers and stuff.
And, you know, I I wanted that you know, thethe the ability to go wherever I, you know,
wanted to go and not have to worry about it.
(33:28):
Mhmm.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's gonna be interesting to see what happensbecause I know there are a lot of folks who get
Strange vans specifically for the ability toget that 4 by 4, right, and then to upgrade
those, and I'm wondering how that's gonna gonow that we're going over to all so, like, my
van, I've got the Strange.
And that's all wheel drive all the time.
(33:49):
I I don't have a bunch of stuff on it for, like, going crazy off road.
So
Yeah.
I guess time's gonna tell with that.
I do wanna shout out and thank, logs logs amonth for, you know, he gave us a super chat
here.
I really appreciate that.
And he also said that, you know, that what wewere looking at was a nice build.
(34:09):
I appreciate all the support from folks outthere.
If you guys are coming in right now, smash thethumbs ups, ask us questions, you know, we we
appreciate all the support that you can giveus.
Oakley says, could you please share anywarranty information on the seat organizer and
window covers?
So so we have a lifetime warranty on oneverything that we do.
(34:30):
So if it's it's something that we, you know, some of our fault and stuff, we'll take care of
that.
No problem.
If it's, you know, if it's something that thathappened on on your end and stuff, we'll still
fix it, just send it back and and, you know, ifit's if it's an easy fix, we're, you know, just
we're we're we're, you know, probably usuallygonna fix it for for nothing or next to
(34:51):
nothing, just cover the shipping and stuff likethat.
But, you know, we've been doing this for 3032plus years and stuff.
And, we we we don't make you know, Hank.
It's it's it's high quality stuff.
It is, you know, it's it's a little moreexpensive than the stuff you find, you know,
out there online and and stuff like up, butnumber 1, you're you're you're getting options.
(35:12):
You're you're you're getting, you know, multiple color and multiple sizes, the ability
to custom make, you know, customize the size, the shape, things like that.
And and that, you know, and it's it's made inAmerica.
So it's it's it's gonna be, you know, a littlemore than than the, you know, stuff that's made
overseas and and, and, you know, some of thestuff that you can just buy at the online
(35:33):
stores.
Yeah.
I mean, I've yet to, tear anything, and I Ilike to throw stuff around.
Yeah.
You know,
I like to throw things around step on them.
You know, toss them out of the way, all thatkind of stuff.
So maybe we can take a look at some more stuffthat's on the wall, pull off an organizer or
something like that.
And show folks.
I know o Oakley said that they were interestedin the seat organizer and the window covers,
(35:57):
but let's take a look at something there.
I'll go, I'll go full on you here so we canOkay.
Actually, let me I gotta switch this back toyou.
There we go.
Boom.
Alright.
Okay.
So,
Let's see what looks good here.
What so are these the seatback?
Are these?
(36:17):
Yeah.
Okay.
So everything everything right into here is isthe seed organizers and, we we still, you know,
have more models that, that the are now here, but this is kind of the gist of it, the the
more popular ones and stuff like that.
But, some of these hold laptops like like thisone will hold, hold the laptop in the side here
as well as the other side.
(36:39):
Okay.
Yeah.
Nice little Kleenex pouch here.
School pockets behind all these, just zipperpockets for the smaller stuff.
You know, the the oops.
Let me point that down.
You know, this great, for for for cameras orbinocular, stuff like that, the larger stuff.
And then we have, you know, smaller models likedown here so you can you know, just put the the
(37:03):
the the courts in
the paint.
Were those mesh so you could see through them?
Exactly.
Yeah.
Just just makes it easy to open and you know, all the pockets.
And and we've actually made, you know, some ofthese, like, this would be mesh and stuff like
that.
So, again, it all comes to the customizationfeatures that, that that we do.
(37:23):
Okay.
Yeah.
You know, I I like the idea of being able tosee what's going on inside of those bags so I
can find so I can find things quickly.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Do you have a a role there that we could take alook at?
I'd be very interested.
If you if you have one nearby, if it's not, like, too much trouble, That's something I
(37:44):
think maybe a lot and I don't know if everyonethinks thinks about a tool role per se, but,
you know, it's good to Hank tools with you, andthe the idea of being able to roll them up, I
think, just makes it compact and then easier tostash that stash that way, and you can just get
more tools in it.
So, that's something that I've been working onlooking at of different things and trying to
(38:09):
put something together.
And I'll go back here, full screen also withRob just so we can see what's over there that
we wanna take a look.
Is the tool roll?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So this one, pockets are detachable.
So, boom, if I just wanted, you know, thesockets, you just pull that off, take it with
you, stuff like that.
(38:30):
Yeah.
Same with all these.
And then it just it just rolls up to itselflike that.
Yeah.
And then but we also send a strap so you couldjust hang it over the back of your So, number
1, if you wanted to use it for other thingsother than tools, you could do that, be just
another feed organizer, or or just have yourtools Hank in there.
(38:52):
Mhmm.
So so you know what I was thinking and just, you know, just my crazy ideas coming out here
with the tool roll Is there a way to have, like, a little soft mat or something to pull
out of that?
You know, if you're if you're gonna be working, let's say, on vehicle and you're getting down
on the ground, you know, you need to get yourknees down on the ground or something like
that.
It'll be cool to have something you can takeout of there, maybe Velcro off the back or
(39:16):
something like that and use it as a mat.
We we do have, actually, let me grab it righthere.
Okay.
Yeah.
Just ideas.
Ideas are, always coming out of my my my onlinethis.
And if you're listening to the audio, obviously, you know, you you're gonna need to
come over and actually look at the the podcastso you can see some of the cool stuff that Rob
(39:39):
has here.
Okay.
Go for it, Rob.
So this is called our Tony Ground map.
Basically, it's it's it's a vinyl on one sideand quarter on the other side mat, and it folds
out.
It's roughly 4 feet by 6 feet, I Hank, and itcomes in a little bag like this.
But, it just Yeah.
Play that out.
(39:59):
And it goes, goes underneath the, you know, when you're when you're changing the tire, just
getting underneath their look.
You're not getting all filthy.
Yeah.
Cool.
How much does something like that cost?
Oh.
I have to look it up.
Look, go to the website.
Exactly.
Overland gear guy.com.
By the way, like I said, if you guys use thecodepalooza 10, you can get 10% off, you know,
(40:22):
where not getting anything out of that.
We just wanted to help you guys out and and, give you a little break.
Rob's a friend of mine, and I would do anythingto help people discover what he's doing here,
because I think he makes really good stuff.
And if you can't find something, you know,Overland gear guy is a good idea because you
can get in touch with him and he may be able toput that together for you.
(40:45):
So what do we what do we there you go.
89 bucks.
So it will
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
And that's pretty big.
How big is it?
What's the size of it?
Oh, let's see.
It's gonna stay in those option, I hope.
Yep.
While you're looking that up, Lola says, whattools, if any, does everyone here in the chat
carry with them in their RVs.
(41:05):
Good question.
Well, maybe we'll even get Rob to answer that.
You should always have a hammer.
I'll tell you that right hammer.
Yeah.
A hammer.
But, yeah, as big as you could possibly carrywith you.
Did you find that where where we've got, like,10 seconds before we take this
I I I Hank, and I'll I'll get it during thebreak.
And, but I think it's, like, 4 feet by 6 feet.
(41:27):
Okay.
Cool.
Yeah.
Let's take a quick break here.
We'll be right back with Rob from Overland gearguy.
Lola and I are now official brand ambassadorsfor Coachmen class B.
So I wanted to take a moment to tell you guyswhy we, as Vanasource, like it says on our t
shirt, are very excited about our partnershipwith Coachmen Class B.
(41:48):
First off, Coachmen RVs has been a leader tothe great outdoors since 1964.
So next is the fact that Coachmen really caresabout you as an owner, whether you bought new
or used after you buy your van, they reallytake care of you.
With Coachmen Klosbee, you have all theoptions.
Coachmen bills on all three van platforms.
(42:09):
On the Mercedes Sprinter is the CoachmanGalleria.
The Ford Transit is the Coachman Beyond and RamPro Master is the Coachman Nova.
Lastly, best value for money.
We've had our van for 2 years and coachmanbills to the highest standards of quality and
craftsman You can't go wrong with a coachmanclass b.
So if you're interested, check out the link inour description and find the coachman van
(42:33):
that's best for you.
By the way, folks out there watching thislater, and they miss an opportunity to ask
questions.
I'll definitely get Rob to check back in here.
Of course, Lola and I will be checking, questions and comments and stuff like that.
(42:56):
Jolene D 808 says Aloha.
From Hawaii, Aloha.
We we don't have RVs here, but I love thelifestyle Mahalo for all of your content.
You're welcome.
And no RV yet.
Yes.
So I wonder what what would be the popular RVsout in a YM.
I'm guessing it's gonna be Vans.
(43:17):
I've never been.
Have you ever been to Hawaii?
Never been out there.
I have not.
Yeah.
If we
gotta make a roach, we gotta make a trip, so tospeak.
I'm guessing you're gonna yeah.
We're gonna we'll have to get on some kind ofboat and get over there, but that would be so
cool, man.
Why all, you know, just looking at all thethings I've looked at documentaries, movies, TV
(43:39):
shows, etcetera, beautiful place.
We might need a snorkel on the van.
I don't know.
Yeah.
You know, if you could get a van slashsubmarine, I don't know what could be more
perfect than that, man.
Yeah.
That'd be good for that.
Yeah.
That's ready for the apocalypse.
Okay.
So Lola had a good question, I think, and we'llcontinue that here.
She says, what tools, if any, does everyonehere in the chat carry with them in their RVs?
(44:04):
And day 49 said air compressor, very good one.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
Very good one.
Do you have a air compressor?
I
do.
Yeah.
A little portable.
Oh, it got a little little portable one that Icarry in the back.
Oh, sweet.
Okay.
Cool.
Yeah.
What's a good air compressor?
Right?
Air compressor?
I mean, that's even a good question.
What will be a good one?
(44:24):
To carry with you.
Well, actually, I have I wonder where's minefrom.
I have one here, the, like, kind of a cheap oneI bought, but what what time do you use?
I I think I just got a harbor freight 1.
Harbor freight?
Okay.
Yeah.
So so whatever you can get that will just airup and down the tires.
Right?
Yeah.
Is yours like battery powered, or do you haveto plug it in?
(44:49):
So so this one just connected to the battery.
I do have another one.
Can I remember the name of it?
Now I got it at Walmart.
It's a, like, a battery pack.
It's an air compressor.
It's it's it's like bunch of things offlashlight.
Mhmm.
But, I I've I've paired up tires with that and,you know, work works for a while.
So Yeah.
I have one I have one here.
(45:10):
I'm trying to remember.
I don't know.
I don't think it's a black and Decker, but I Ido have a small one here that I use.
It's battery powered.
I just keep that battery charged up.
But if the battery is not charged up, then youcould plug it into power, which the van has one
on the outside.
You know, they can have extension cords andstuff like that.
So Jolene says they don't sell RVs here.
(45:33):
It will impact the expensive housing market.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
That's interesting.
And, she says I plan on purchasing one to keepin Washington Strange.
Okay.
Got it.
And Carolyn Smith's food, forest, and homesteadsays, hi.
Y'all from North Florida.
Hi.
Thanks for joining us here again.
(45:53):
Appreciate you.
Log's Matt says, no RV yet.
Yeah.
So, hopefully, you know, you're able to get oneif you if you want more advice that I could
give here.
Feel free to ask any questions you have.
Be happy to answer you, but you can also DM me,and I'll try to help you out if you need that,
or, or, you know, at least point you in theright that shit.
Okay.
What you got there?
(46:13):
That's your air compressor.
So so that that that's one of the the smallerones, and and this one I got at Costco.
And, you know, it's got the you can jump youryour rig with it.
You it's got the small air compressor.
You can Mhmm.
You know, run different stuff off of it, but itworks real well.
It's like a hundred bucks, you know, So
Yeah.
I think the one that I have here is somethinglike that as well.
(46:34):
I cannot remember the name of it, but Lolaprobably does know and has it somewhere Maybe
if you go check, like, our Amazon, because Ithink I got mine from Amazon, you'll find a
good link there.
Okay.
So other tools you think that are good, Rob?
To to have with you in your tool roll.
I I I I carry a lot of stuff.
You know, one thing that's that's important isis just a tire repair kit.
(46:56):
So if you, you know, punch punch something, youknow, get a hole through there, you know,
they've got all these different tire kits outthere.
They're all over the place.
Just, you know, stick a stick, you know, thethe rubber part in there with some little
blueish and and it's gonna get you back to towhere you need to be in instead of, being stuck
there in the middle of nowhere.
Yeah.
That's a good one.
Yeah.
As a guy who, recently had a whole tire blowup.
(47:20):
No.
Do you keep a full size spare?
Like, I really found the value of a full sizespare out, in the last in the last a few weeks.
So
Yeah.
I I I keep it on the I have a, a back mounted, full size spare on the back of the van.
Stuff.
I think that's critical.
I I what I would say is always make sure so onething I think will probably be good as a
(47:44):
crowbar.
You just probably need to get one that's allenough to fit in here too.
A lot of this stuff you have to think aboutwith the tools, like a crowbar, probably keep a
nice big, flat head and, like, a Phillips head, you know, your your basic stuff like that.
You wanna keep those tools in there.
Some wrenches, you know, I think duct tape is agood thing.
(48:08):
In a tool roll, you might wanna figure out howto get it flat I think some there are some
places that sell duct tape flat.
Yeah.
Yep.
I'm sure zip ties, duct tape.
Zip ties is another good one.
Yep.
I mean, I I keep a breaker bar.
I keep a floor jack.
I like a two and a half done floor jack becauseMhmm.
The the the jack that came with the van, it'snot gonna work with these tires.
(48:29):
I mean, they're, you know, they're it's it itraised up quite a bit off the, you know, the
ground and and stuff.
So I'll just keep that.
And plus the floor jack's gonna be a lot a loteasier to, you know, do.
And I just keep that in the, in know, the thethe back garage and stuff.
But
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's a good that's a good idea.
I could Hank used one of those.
I think, like, for people who are looking myvideo.
(48:49):
So first of all, I think in in our situation, when we had this problem, I didn't realize it
was a tire issue because just the wholesteering wheel and everything started vibrating
while we were driving.
And I just didn't know what it was.
And even I tried to call some people, and and Ilooked, and I didn't see anything obviously
wrong with the tires, you know, so it took us alittle while to figure out that it was the
(49:11):
tires.
And once we did, there's a jack that comes withthis kind of like a bottle jack.
And Okay.
I'm not I I don't like using those, so itreally made me realize, like, man, I have to
figure out how to carry a full size jack herein this van.
So if something comes up, I could just get thatof the van.
You know, maybe a piece of wood with thatbecause in the video, you see when the tow
(49:34):
truck came, he was using, like, a flat piece ofwood know, if you don't if you're not on an
even surface, when things happen, you're gonnaneed that.
But if I would've had that, I would've veryquickly changed once we identified that it
could be this particular tire, I would Hankchanged it.
And for that, you need a jack.
Question is where do you keep it?
Cause, you know, There's now a lot of room forstuff.
(49:56):
You have a garage in the back of your van.
The back of mine is the bathroom.
So the question here is, like, where do youkeep all stuff.
You know?
Yeah.
It's it's it's, you know, it's trade offs.
It's like, I've I've got so much stuff in thatgarage that, know, I can I could I could be off
grid for for quite some time and and, you know, just be totally totally comfortable and stuff?
(50:17):
You know, the the sea sucker, you know, mountfor that high lift jack.
You know, that that's an option too.
We've seen that at the, with that expo.
And Yeah.
You know, just, you know, things like that.
I mean, you could always put it on the roof.
You know, if you want, you know, put it upthere, because, you know, chances of you
getting it a pretty remote, but if you need it,you need it.
(50:37):
Yeah.
I use c sucker.
So right there, you see that?
That's match tracks.
That's to my glass.
Wow.
And that stays on my van.
The only time I take it off my van is if I'mdriving a different van.
And the beauty of the c sucker stuff, I couldjust take it off and then suction it onto the
other van.
So, yeah, you know, I've gotta figure out Idon't I don't, you know, I've gotta figure out
(51:03):
what to do with a full size jack.
You know, it's a good question.
It's walking around in my brain.
I actually had a battery outside the the, thevan in the past, and then I removed that, and
there's nothing there now.
I need to see if I can get a box down there toput a jack in so that if I need 1, I always
have because you I there's just not enough roomon a van and you're always looking, you know,
(51:28):
looking for space.
So Lola says cool view of the shop Rob.
Thanks for the tour.
And, Jolene says this is also informative.
So there you go.
I'm glad to help out.
What do you do with weight?
You know, I know I know this is a question noone's asking out there, but wait.
So there's, there's rules on the companiesmaking these vans, how much weight they carry.
(51:52):
Right?
And then when if you have a RV company put ittogether, obviously, they put a bunch of
furniture in there.
You increase the weight.
They you decrease the weight that you cancarry.
But as a person, whether you built your own vanor you bought it, how do you keep track of how
much weight is in your van because it could bedangerous.
Right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, you can you can go to any of the thetrucks drops that that, I mean, Maverick, which
(52:16):
is right down the street here.
They have a scales, and and, you know, butbefore I got the agile system, I I went down
there and weighed it and and stuff.
And, yeah, you know, it it and obviously, if, Imean, if you're you got you know, the the fuel
tanks full.
Your water tanks are full.
It's it's gonna be considerably more than
Mhmm.
You know, not.
But, yeah, it just, you know, it's it's a goodidea to to know where you're at on that.
(52:41):
I I mean, I honestly don't I don't know the I Ithink it's around £98100.
The total weight of the vehicle should thatwhat it should be.
Yeah.
I think that, you know, every vehicle isdifferent, and I believe it's in the driver's
side door.
When you open the door or in the well, the doorthe the door jam there, that number is there,
(53:05):
and it's different for everyone you just needto be aware of that.
So, basically, you buy this stuff.
It has a weight.
Then you put stuff in it.
You get in it.
Like you said, you've foot fuel water all ofthat kind of stuff.
That number of what you can, you know, whereyou need to be at to be safe is always going up
and down.
So it's really up to you to be aware of thatfor your, you know, for your own safety.
(53:30):
And
then everything has that.
So if you're buying an r if you're buying,like, a trailer, a 5th wheel, travel trailer.
If you're buying a big class a, all of that hasit, the dealers should know how to tell you
about that.
And if you go to the user groups as well, theyshould be able to help you out with that stuff.
So if anyone has any kind of questions likethat, the reason why I'm doing this podcast is
(53:51):
so could take it up.
I know Rob's here, and he makes gear and stufflike that, and we're talking specifically about
that.
But I'll be happy when we do the to answer anykind of questions like that.
So in the absence of that, Rob, and the timethat we have here, let's look at some more
gear, man.
What else?
What other cool stuff do you have there that wecould take a Gander at.
We got, like, about 9 minutes here.
(54:13):
Okay.
Actually, I have a product here No one's seen.
I mean, not a single person.
I was
I was gonna
I was gonna put it up on and stuff today.
And Sweet.
Okay.
Cool.
Yeah.
We'll be we'll debut it for you.
There you go.
So it's, we've we've had a lot of requests overthe years for a for a Molly seed organizer.
(54:35):
So Molly is is just a it's a military term forattaching pockets and stuff like that to vest
and different things.
Out.
And I've I've I've had requests for a longtime.
Yeah.
I have a version of that in my van, so I'm veryexcited to see what you have, man.
I might I might need to upgrade Right?
For sure.
The, you know, there's a lot of thought that'swent into all our c organizers, whether it's,
(54:57):
you know, holding laptop camera gear, whatever, and stuff.
But and there's a lot of models to choose from, but for those that wanna go with the Moly
system, There it is.
So
Oh, very cool.
Okay.
This is a shorter version.
So, it's, you know, it's it's great for your, your gladiators, your Tacoma, your Tundra's,
(55:19):
you know, different stuff like that.
I don't know if you get the glare there, but,you know, a
little bit.
So Yeah.
So this is, so this is a Molly seatback, andthen you can, you can Velcro to it?
No.
So so the
Oh, it's got the mall it's just got the Mollyin it.
Okay.
There you go.
Oh, okay.
So it's all Molly.
Yep.
The whole thing.
(55:39):
And then you can just put your pockets on.
We Hank, a lot of pockets on online that youcan just choose from.
So many people have their their own Mollypocket so you can just put it on there, you
know, and carry exactly what you wanna carry.
So
Okay.
Got it.
So so you don't have to just get stuff fromyou.
You can put any kind of stuff that works on theMolly system.
So even the things I already have hereAbsolutely.
(56:02):
Oh, cool.
Okay.
Okay.
Very nice.
It's not even on the website.
We were gonna we were gonna miss it latertoday, but we saw it here first.
Oh, absolutely.
Very cool.
So that's gonna actually be available.
Right?
It's coming out today?
Okay.
Be out there.
Alright.
Very see.
I got some, you know, I got, Dennis Dennis saysvery nice.
(56:25):
That's from Dennis Dennis.
Very, very nice.
And, and logs amon says, just a van for me.
I wouldn't
want to drive anything bigger.
You know what?
You know what?
Agree, dude.
I I love a van.
I'm not I'm not buying anything else.
I mean, not a motor home.
I don't don't want, like, a travel trailer.
(56:45):
It's just the van's perfect.
So
Perfect.
You know, you can zip into a whole bunch ofdifferent places.
Even, like, my, My transit here is big.
It's not as big as a 170 or 170 extended.
I think it's probably about the size close to a170, but the the extended ones a lot bigger,
but, still, I could park this.
I've gone to, like, Lola's brother lives inMaryland, And he's in a condo neighborhood, and
(57:11):
I've been able to park on the street.
Nice.
In a spot.
So, yeah, Vans is super perfect for me, man.
I could open up my back door and put a wholebunch of stuff from Home Depot in here.
You know, it's it's like a SUV and and and avan at the same time.
So yeah.
(57:31):
Draws very easy.
End up inside there and, you know, walk aroundand easily to change clothes and Mhmm.
You know, things like that.
So Yeah.
Yeah.
So, hi to Vanessa Katie out there.
Shout out to Vanessa Katie, a very long timesupporter of all the stuff that I do.
I appreciate you.
You know, and says wishing my VA home loancould be used an RV van.
(57:54):
Oh, interesting.
I don't know.
I don't know about that.
I know that so you can get RVs, and includingmy van, you can you can buy them as a second
home.
So you can get it's not like a traditional carloan that would be, let's say, 4 or 5 years.
I think now car loans are going out to, like, 7years or something really crazy.
(58:15):
But when you buy an, an RV, including a class BRV, you can get you can send that loan out to
like 20 years.
So Yeah.
Because it's considered a second home.
So there you go.
Log Samont says it lives in Maryland.
Oh, cool.
Yep.
Lola is from Maryland.
She went to school, grew up everything inMaryland.
(58:35):
So, that's why she's so crazy.
There you go.
Mailing people.
So let's see.
I'm I'm trying to see what other things.
So on that new moly pack.
Do you do you know, what colors are gonna beavailable?
You know, the price, stuff like that of it?
(58:58):
Working on the price as far as colors, I mean, you can still get it in the roughly 30 colors.
But as far as the the webbing, on the front.
It's it's it's, you know, the the webbing thatwe carry right now, it's it's either black or
the coyote, the tan.
The ocean olive drab.
And then, I think I think just those 3 colors,of of wet and stuff.
(59:21):
But Mhmm.
Yeah.
If you want the back, you know, some otherunique color, we can we can do that.
Okay.
Yeah.
The webbing's gonna wind up being very simple, but the backing of it could be different
dollars.
Right?
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Okay.
And what size is that there?
You know, I was looking like, my sliding door, when you open it, there's a big wall there.
I was trying to figure out how to mountsomething like that there on that wall.
(59:45):
And then then I could just put whatever Mollythings I Hank.
Yeah.
I I think this is Oh,
Samad says, don't take that Lola.
All the Maryland people will be coming for menow.
Right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think it's 18 by 23, 18 wide 23 tall.
(01:00:07):
Okay.
Without having a tape measure here, that's athat's my, I guess.
Okay.
It looks like, Steph's telling me it's 17 ahalf wide.
Oh, okay.
2022.
Yes.
Okay.
Cool.
Would you ever consider making bigger onesmaller one?
Yeah.
Yeah.
We just, we we we came out with this one that, you know, like, the longer ones for the, the
(01:00:29):
bands, those are usually 29, 30 inches tall.
The width is the same, but, you know, the onesfor for the bands are, you know, that that much
longer.
So, yeah, we'll we'll have a version of that.
Basically, probably be on the same listing, andthen you can just drop down.
Hey.
Do I want the 22 inch, or do I want the 30inch?
Okay.
Cool.
Vanessa Kitty says, my Ford Ranger had to headto the salvage yard June 2nd.
(01:00:55):
So in the market, perhaps I should finance anRV van, then a 20 year loan would make it,
imminently affordable.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Definitely.
You know, I'm not trying to push you in onedirection or another, but, yeah, I think that
would be a good idea because, you know, if nowremember with those RV loans, you need to like,
if you buy the van on its own, then you're justgetting a regular loan, and then you're
(01:01:18):
building it up.
But if you get it from, let's say, Coachmen, you know, that my van is from or Winnebago or
any of those companies that are out there thatare have actually built them into something.
Yes.
Absolutely.
That you can you can get an RV loan for that.
So and I think there may be some stuff.
I know you're a veteran and stuff like that.
There may be some programs there.
(01:01:39):
So something good to look into.
I don't know if you have any experience withthat, Rob.
No.
Not at all.
Yeah.
Mine, I I bought stock and then just, you know, build it out.
So I didn't do the do the full RV loan typething.
Yeah.
Affordability wise, that's the way to go.
I would say that the class B RV's, the vansHank gotten pretty expensive.
(01:02:02):
There.
So, you know, that's that's the flip side ofthat.
So, Vanessa Kedi says a a traveling home isfund.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
And if you're ever in Florida, you can alwayscamp come camp out on my property.
Okay.
Open invitation.
So to anyone out there.
If I know you, Rob, you're always welcome tocome here as well, man, in Tampa.
(01:02:25):
I don't know if you come all the way over here.
You know, I I haven't.
I wanna come down there, because I'm a wildlifephotographer.
I wanna come down there and do some birdingphotography and stuff like that.
And Oh, That'd be a good time.
But
Absolutely, man.
You're welcome to come here.
We'll have fun.
We'll do a lot of stuff.
Okay.
I think we've we've like, used up the wholehour.
(01:02:46):
Wow.
Believe it or not.
Yeah.
We could keep going here, but I'm glad that wedid get a chance to show the folks out there.
Just an idea of the stuff that you have.
I I would definitely say to people, if you guysare looking some way to store things in in, you
know, in your van, in your pickup truck, whatever it is you Hank.
(01:03:06):
You go overlanding with and all that, or evenjust your your regular vehicle that you Hank,
check out Overland gear guy.
He's got some really cool things.
He's easy to to.
He's here in America.
He's making and building these things.
So I I use this stuff.
I really appreciate him.
Reiterate to everyone that if you use thecode, palooza 10, you get 10% off at the store,
(01:03:30):
and and and what I wanna do here is give Rob achance before we get out of here to tell you
guys all the different ways that you cancommunicate with him and find out more stuff.
Go.
Go for it, Bob.
So, yeah, overlandgear guy.com.
All the social media handles are just Overlandgear guy.
We're most active on Instagram, trying to buildour YouTube.
(01:03:51):
So I would love to have you follow us overthere and and and and build that up a little
bit, Facebook the same in, in Twitter.
But, yeah, everything's Overland gear.
I and, you know, just if you have anyquestions, you can you can email us, you can
text us, call us, whatever like that, and, It'sit's really makes it easy if if you, like, send
(01:04:12):
a picture of your space that you wanna putsomething in and and what you're wanting a
pouch or a bag for.
That makes things so much easier and and thatgives me different ideas because we've we've
had people's like, you know, I'll makesomething up and they'll get it and and then
they'll send pictures and it's like, Oh, if ifI would have known what you're, you know, using
it, you know, how are you using it and stufflike that, I would have designed it different.
(01:04:36):
They're happy, but it's like it it could Hankbeen better.
And I I just wanna give best, you know, productand service that that anybody can get out
there.
So Absolutely, man.
I've got a ton of ideas for stuff.
I know we're we'll get together, and we'll workout some different things, for the folks out
there.
Vanessa Kitty says she'll bring the smoker on atrailer.
If you come here and you feed me, you are day.
(01:04:57):
Super welcome.
Over here.
Really trip.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Let's see here.
Okay.
Oh, another thing, Rob, before I forget, whatshows coming up are you going to?
I don't know.
Do you just you don't just go to Overland ExpoWest, do you?
No.
We got the, the the Overland, mountain west, the one in Colorado.
(01:05:21):
I believe that's Okay.
Next month maybe.
It's it's it's coming up.
We've got the they changed the name.
It it it used to be called the Revel VanRaleigh.
It's gonna be in Colorado.
I'm I'm sorry.
I forgot what the what what they're dealingwith.
That's a very, very big event for us.
If you, if you did, you know, search searchthat.
(01:05:42):
There's a couple, a local one that we're gonnado probably, I mean, I Hank, oh, oh, Trail Hero
in October.
That's, and down in Southern Utah.
That's, that's first time down there, and we'reexcited to be going down to, the Strange Hero
for that one.
Absolutely.
And I would recommend you guys, one, go out tothese shows just because you're gonna see a lot
of cool rigs And they they typically tend tohave more and more vans now.
(01:06:05):
Right?
Am I wrong on that?
Oh, absolutely.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it's a good place to see to see the rigs, see people's vans, and stuff, but also a great
place to actually see what Rob has to offer andother folks that are gonna be there, you know,
when so as your gear.
Once you get whatever it is you get, you needsomewhere to put all your stuff.
So, that's a that's a big thing.
(01:06:26):
I would once again say to everyone who'slistening to this on audio, check out Overland
gear, guy.com, look at the YouTube channel, anyof the social media, that's out there so you
can actually get a look at this stuff.
There's a lot of cool things to look at.
That's the best way to do all of this, and thenreach out if you have any questions.
And you guys can leave questions on here afterthis, and we'll see if we can get some of those
(01:06:50):
answered.
Blog Samont gave us, another five here.
Thank you very much.
I really do appreciate that.
Thanks for the support here.
I'm going to wrap this up.
Big Hank, Robert.
It was great seeing you and talking to youagain.
It's good time to go again.
Absolutely.
Seeing all you guys.
Rob, you stay right here.
I'm gonna end this.
Thanks, everyone, for joining us here.
(01:07:10):
Really appreciate appreciate you.
We'll see you next week same time for anotherlive podcast.
We're out of here, Peace.
