Speaker 1 (00:04):
Yo, yo, yo, yo yo. If you're listening.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Vegas, Jimmy, Hey, I got my years back and you
guys are back with me.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Here jab to ticket Vegas, Go aboard Express.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
My man man Mark is in the building this morning
showing me what's going on.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
It's just my equipment got hold.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
It died on me.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
The dog wasn't barking for it. But I'm back here
with my main man, Ronnie be Good morning Ronnie. Jake.
Poppy's back on the line with us. Good morning, Jake.
How you do it? So glad to have you guys
back with me. It's been a while. Morning.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
I thought it was gonna be very, very nice and
sunny this morning, got up and then that cloud cover
came right back. I was like, oh no, because Jake,
I'm sure the guys at the committee were listening to
the show last week because they did everything they could
to destroy our brackets, matching up our favorites. They put
high Point with my Alba Mater produce. Shout out Purdue

(01:16):
boiler Makers for getting it done. But we paid the
price with high Point. And then we looked at McNee
State with Clemson and I'm just like, come on, and
there wasn't much value in that game either. I think
it was like maybe plus one twenty five. I'm not
too sure.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
It's just like I said, it's been a great tournament
so far. The small schools have been getting sacrificed though.
I mean there's been no fifteen over two, fifteen over one.
I think those days are pretty much over. Ronnie Bee again,
so glad to have you back here as well. I
want your thoughts on this because the reality is simple.

(01:53):
College basketball has made some changes. They've done things to
make the game more competitive. We got the nil, but
then you look at it from the perspective of when
you come to the tournament, you got postseason tournaments, you
got tournaments like the NIT people turning down invitations if
you will. Not really looking to make that a big

(02:14):
thing here, but the concept behind it is simple. If
you have players who are essentially NBA players, which that's
a lot harder to quantify now as well. But the
reality here is can you put something together from a
betting standpoint with any of these dogs, Because what we've
been seeing in the first round first two days is

(02:35):
just been sacrifice after sacrifice. These guys are getting smoked
and I'm talking about these smaller schools here.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Nil tournament.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
That's about I've been calling it going so far, but
starting off with you, Ronnie Bee your thoughts, and then
Jake Poppy glad to have you back ahead.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
Well, like we said the few weeks here, the cream
is going to rise to the top. And that's exactly
what's happening. You're one, twos, and three and four are
going to continue to move forward. They have the stronger
schedule to get the better coaching, they've got the bigger conferences,
they play better schedules during the years, so it's gonna
come out and show. And that's exactly what we've seen

(03:12):
the first couple of days here in the tournament.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yeah, it's been it's been a big change from what
I'm used to seeing. You know, most of the players
that we are used to getting in these tournaments and
most of the teams that were used to seeing in
these tournaments are still there, you know, and you know
you talk about it from a conference perspective. Going over
to you, j Poppy, glad to have you back. The
ACC has had another poor showing. Okay, their football is
doing bad. Basketball outside of Duke is not doing too well,

(03:40):
I heard Virginia is going to hire the coach that
was coaching UMBC back in the day when the game
they got everything started. For JB the ticket, I gave
that out live on the air as one of the
first picks that I ever gave out. It was something
special about that Maryland Baltimore County team that year. They
were like the last year park ball. They had some
park ballers going up against the prep school ball rep
school ballers weren't ready for it for Virginia, who ended

(04:02):
up winning a national championship a couple of seasons later,
but they just weren't ready that year. And that was
a plus two thousand win.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
It was huge.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
But again, Jake Poppy, the ACC is it a situation
where you look at it and you see that student
athletes aren't looking at the Atlantic Coast Conference anymore as
a route to the pros, not only from a football perspective,
but now even looking at basketball. Okay, we've had the
proliferation of players going overseas during their college time. We've
also seen a lot of players go to the G

(04:31):
League kind of doing an inter hybrid one and done
type thing, skipping the NBA altogether and now during the
NIL era, with the ACC essentially being in a region
which really was a stalwart of not paying players, do
you think that's now affecting them with younger generations former

(04:51):
athletes maybe telling other athletes they know, if they're not
legacy kids don't play in the ACC because the talent
just isn't there outside of do go ahead.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
No, I wouldn't. I wouldn't get that. Uh that, I
wouldn't say that. Yeh JB. I think it's just a
down yet. Yeah, I mean, look, Naoly, what got two
or three tournament teams in the tournament? And I mean
you know they're Clenson whoa, what a horrible Shelley thirteen.

(05:23):
I mean, yeah, he's today. But I don't think that
they're going to have a problem with getting talent back
in there, do you think so?

Speaker 1 (05:31):
I mean, come on, man, I would.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Have to disagree. I would have to disagree. North Carolina
hasn't had a real Blue chipper. I mean they lose
out on all of them. They've all been going to
Duke Zion Williamson. You got this kid Cooper flag, you know,
the duke starting five for many many years ago. Carolina
hasn't had a true blue Chipper in the last fifteen years,
I would say, and from that last national championship team

(05:56):
where they had Raymond Felton in Scott junior, Shawn May's
kid something like that, I think I think his name
was Shawn May. But that was the last team that
Carolina had. I think Rashad mccantz was on that team
that gave anybody any fits. After that, Carolina has been
on a downswing. You had Virginia kind of legitimize the
prep school ball, if you will, in twenty seventeen, twenty eighteen,

(06:19):
and now you're seeing do continue its dominance with John
Shire kind of like you know, a lot of people
don't know his background, but he was a Chicago street
ball So John Shire's got these kids playing tough. But
outside of that, in the ACC, I just don't see
the talent there. I mean, Ronnie b I don't know
if you can, you know, talk to the elephant in

(06:39):
the room here, but the ACC just doesn't have the talent.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Go ahead, Well, it's I agree on a couple different
things here. I believe the talent will continue to come
to the ECC. It's just a matter of putting the
right coaches in the right seats, And I said earlier,
I'm surprised that they gave Carolina's coach to an extension here.
You know, when you look at Duke, Schier was on
the bench right next to Kossky for two three years,

(07:05):
so he was groomed to go into the next seat.
So it shows when you have time to get the
coaches in the right position. A lot of these coaches
are bounced around after one or two years now, so
it's it's a different ballgame. But if you get the
longevity instability, you're going to have a better program. And
that's why Duke is what it is.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Well, let's talk to that from a coaching perspective. Let's
look at Michigan shout out where creditors credit is due.
They had Juwan Howard out there, you know, tried to
bring back the Fab five magic. Nothing happened. Now they're
back in the tournament and they're doing much better. Going
back to you, Jake Poppy, a recent college player, speak
to that a little bit. Is coaching that big of

(07:46):
a thing now, especially in the NIL era. I talked
about it a couple of years ago. I thought that
maybe coaches would stop wanting to coach due to ego
and not wanting to.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Be a part of the.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Pay for play era, if you will, and we've are
you seen that, you know down in Miami Jim Laernega,
I couldn't even do what you know that that free
labor man, you know, it's not like it. But anyway,
do you think that the coaches are that big of
a deal and the recruitment process and also the program
building process because they jump around a lot as well, Jake, Bob,

(08:20):
you go ahead, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
I think it's huge nowadays. I think that's it's, you know,
a really big thing. That's how you're gonna get kids
in there. I agree with you though. You you heard
a lot of coaches complaining about the NIL at first
because you know everyone's gonna be leaving and stuff. But
you've got to be able to adapt to it now.
And the best coaches are like you see, Izzo is
those doing fine? He's hanging around.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Well, these are coaches, izz O, These old guys, they
can they know what they're doing because they've been paying
players the whole time. Let's keep it real, Let's keep
it real. I mean you see where Louisville is that
I think Louisville. Didn't Louisville take a loss too.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
In this tournament? They did?

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Coach was Austin crazy.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
There you go, oh great, what is going on in
the ACC. But nevertheless, let's talk about some of the
other conferences again, the Big Ten showing why they are
where they're at.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
But I think we may.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
See a few slip ups today because, as you said,
if the cream rises to the top, we're either looking
for the butter cream of the butter milk, and we're
looking for the butter cream today. Of Ronnie b you're
talking about the Big Ten today. You've got some teams
in the Big Ten right now still in it. You
got Michigan, You've got Illinois.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Shocker.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Illinois has been playing well. I think Gonzaga is going
to go down today. They're playing Houston. I talked about
that shock. They made it past the first round from Georgia.
I mean, come on, great.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Into the regular season, Georgia.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
But no money out in the first round here. But
you talk about it sec Big Ten, and now I'm
looking at the round of thirty two here on our
friends at CBS and you guys can download Paramount Plus
as well. Go to jbdticket dot com, you can hook
it up. It's a mixed bag. We've got some big East,

(10:15):
We've got some mid majors in there. You've got teams
like Drake continuing to structure the mid major leadership, if
you will, Gonzaga stalwart always there BYU showing Saint Mary's there.
So we've kind of got the same names that you

(10:35):
normally have seen. And when you look at teams like that,
you have to say to yourself, well, are we back
into a regular season matchup? Because again, I see a
lot of teams and matchups that could be realistic in
the regular season. The only one I don't like today
is Purdue and McNeice. Why they do us like that?
Jake Poppy and McNeice is going to NC State. You

(10:58):
talk about coaches moving around. We mentioned Will Wade here.
Shout out to you, Jake Poppy. We're one of the
first places to talk about Will Wade. Now he's back
in the ACC Maybe we had something to do with
helping him get a job. But sticking with you, Jake,
you talk about conferences and getting kids to go to
these schools. Now that the field of sixty four has

(11:18):
been whittled down. Do you think that going forward, the
NCAA tournament for basketball players is going to be as
important because you got to think if you're a one
outer and you're a top twenty five teams, I think
we're going to start seeing more teams go along the way.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Of college football. They're gonna start opting out man.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
That's the point I'm saying to the ball so the thing,
and that's going to start changing the dynamic of some
of these tournament teams. You already see him not wanting
to go to the NIT at some of these other
smaller tournaments. We've got a tournament here for cash in
Las Vegas called the Crown. Shout out the Crown. They
need to get down with us. We need to get
down with them, get some promo going for him. But

(12:03):
Jake Poppy, your thoughts on that go ahead?

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Yeah, you know, I think we see it with Cooper Flag.
You know, to be honest, I was, I was, you know,
I was watching that closely. I didn't know. I wasn't
sure if he was going to play or not. I mean,
why would you have with all that money that you
know he's going to be getting right in the future.
But no, I think you might see it. You know,
I basketball is a different games tournament. You know, people
really love this tournament's it's the best thing. I don't

(12:28):
know why, but I feel like, you know, you don't
see it as much, but I think you could in
the future, you know. But what I'm saying is is
it's been a tough year for you know, the these
teams because, like we said earlier, the cream of the
crops just keeps rising and the NIL has just ruined it.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Man, So these mid majors, Yeah, the big majors no money,
Ronnie b your thoughts on that. And I want to
add this caveat about maybe college basketball being a little
different than the NFL. The NFL is a meat market, man,
It's a grinder, pause, and it's something that you know,
young men can come out of a smaller school and

(13:08):
it's Mono Amano. And if you happen to beat Mano
Amano and you're from D three and this guy's you know,
blue Chip or Texas and you keep putting them on
his button, you get that contract.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
It still relevant.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
In football basketball, there's not really a guarantee that you'll
go to the NBA now, and if there's no real guarantee.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
That you go to the NBA.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Now, with the one and done era necessarily gone for good,
the kids can get paid now. It's an open secret,
it's legal if you will. I still look at it
from that tournament perspective. If you're McNee State and you
know your coaches are getting ready to go over to Carolina,
why do you want to try to win a national championship?

(13:47):
I mean, what's that going to do for you?

Speaker 1 (13:49):
You know? And I'm talking business.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
I've talked to some young players who are all about
the bag, and I've talked to some young coaches who
are looking at it from that perspective as well. When
you're at that mid major level, you're trying to move
into the Power five, But where does that leave those
kids in the lurch? You know, the nil era is
going to be the top one percent. You know that
money always flows to the top. You know, it's more

(14:14):
of a cloud than a river. Go ahead, Ronnie bee Ball.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
When you're fucking mcnease State and some of these mid majors,
they just had their super Bowl, they just beat Plimpson.
Most kids are happy. They didn't think they'd get that far.
They made the tournament they won a game, that's their championship.
Now this is all bonus for that, but this nil
has changed everything with the players. You may not see
a lot of these one and done guys. You may

(14:39):
not see Cooper Flag leaving after this year. You don't know,
but I'm leaning that he does. If Duke doesn't win
this tournament, I'm saying the Flag will stay in college
and play one more year. They don't have to jump
now because they're getting paid while they're playing in college
and ball.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
I mean, I mean that's a game changer.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
And the NBA isn't really picking American talent anyway like that.
I mean, the last four or five number one picks
have been foreign born players. Will go to break with you,
Jake Poppy, do you think now college basketball maybe should
look at maybe expanding the field of sixty four. We've
got so many teams out there, and other postseason tournaments

(15:17):
have opportunity as well. But the field of sixty four
that this March mac Madness bracket.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Could we see some tweets to it. Maybe.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
I know they've tweaked it by adding these first four
in and all that, but look at what college football
has done with their national championship. They had four teams,
six teams, eight teams now expanding to twelve college basketball.
We got a minute left here before we take this break.
Could we start seeing some changes to this tournament. It's
still very popular. It's huge aered Vegas. The casinos are packed.

(15:47):
People are coming outside, not spending as much money as
I would like though, But you know, go ahead, Jake, Bobby.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
Yeah, it's one of the best tournaments in the world.
You know, it is the best best Why people on it?
I wouldn't be surprised now if we see expansion. You know,
I've been saying for years I did.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
Not want that.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
That's the last thing I wanted. This tournament's best thing ever,
and I outea is. I would not be surprised taking
the throwing some more teams. They're gonna lose two, It
doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
There, you go.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
It's all about the money. It's all about giving these
kids opportunity. Will we come back from the break. We're
gonna jump into today's action. Freeslate today, guys, more grease,
more dogs. Can the dogs bar Kim McNeice disappoint me,
hurt my heart today?

Speaker 1 (16:30):
I hope not.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
They're only plus six when we get back into it. Also,
some breaking news last night, if you didn't hear it,
VSX putting this out here for you. George Foreman, the
Great George Foreman has passed away at the age of
seventy six. So when we come back from this short
commercial break, we may touch on a little bit of boxing.
I know he's up in heaven with my main man
pop TBAs like, Hey, George, you finally hear Let's talk

(16:54):
about that rumbling the jungle, that thriller in Manila.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
We want to hear about it.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
So again, big Celestials, shout out to George Foreman up
in heaven. Passed away yesterday at the age of seventy six.
George Foreman, Grill should be cooking live today. He got
hot dogs. He loved himself, some sports and March Madness
and basketball and we love George too. So again, guys,
going to this sore commercial break. When we come back,
we're gonna stay getting that money.

My Ma Man, Ronnie b back on the line with me,
Jake Poppy, to the handicappers in the game, always here
with us making it happen. And like I said before,

(20:04):
we're putting together some program for you if you were
listening to us earlier on breaking down what's going on
in college basketball. Also a celestial shout out to George
Foreman passing away yesterday at the age of seventy six. Yes,
the legendary George Foreman. George Foreman grill. Some of you
younger guys and younger kids out there may not know
that George Foreman was the most formidable heavy weight of

(20:26):
his name. A lot of you guys are familiar with
Mike Tyson. Well, George Foreman was one of the first
guys where they said, look if he gets you, if
he catches you, you're going down. So again, George Foreman,
age of seventy six, I want to give you a
quick thought on this, Ronnie Bee, you were around and
young and rocking and rolling. You can attest to this.

(20:46):
You know, George Foreman, you also came back and won
the heavyweight championship at the age of fifty years old.
An inspirational story throughout his life. But your thoughts on that,
Ronnie Bee and then even Jake Poppy, you know, coming
from that younger perspective, go ahead.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
Yeah, George was in my opinion, one of the best,
if not the best. And as you said, if you
caught one of his on the chin, you were down
and out. And he was quite a flightner, and like
you said, playing into his fifties and still boxing just
as well. So yeah, in my opinion, one of the
top two three in the world of boxing.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
That's right, George Foreman. Give him another bell ran, another
bell rang. There you go, Jake Poppy, your thoughts on
George Foreman one of the greatest, And again, you know,
an entrepreneur as well, someone who understood the value of
creating wealth and understood how to build your career after
your athletic career, not necessarily maybe over, because again George

(21:43):
Foreman continued to come back, he continued to have exhibition sparring,
just a world class athlete until the very end. But
your thoughts on that maybe from a perspective of some
of these younger athletes maybe looking to George as an
inspiration or a blueprint on how they can position themselves
and their older age after the athletics have come to
an end for money.

Speaker 9 (22:03):
If you will go ahead, Down goes Frasier. Down, shout
out George Forman. You know, I won't say that I
was h.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
You know, obviously around much in that time and then
got to watch off. But you know, great guy obviously
with that life he had after but he was able
to accomplish. So rip live Brets in Paradise.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Again.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
My may man Pop Tvasi Uh, he passed away last
year again, you know, very young, but he was our
boxing guru expert, know him very well around the boxing industry.
I know the conversations that they're having up there are
going to be a legendary. But let's get into today's
matchup again, being brought to you by our friends at
Football TV. Number four are seeded Purdue going up against

(22:55):
McNee State. Number twelve seated McGee State, and this is
where they're gonna get interesting again. Jake Poppy, we talked
about this a couple of weeks ago when you said
to me that McNee State is a team to look
out for. First of all, I didn't think they would
take out our beloved Clemson we were pulling for to

(23:16):
make the ACC more relevant. Didn't happen, okay, and rodnie
Bee got caught up on that when that ticket blow up.
But you look at McNee State today, you look at
their head coach, and you say to yourself, Okay, you're
going up against a Purdue team that kind of flew
under the radar this year, especially in the Big Ten,
after making it to the national championship last year seven

(23:38):
foot six Zach Edie who's now Memphis Grizzly. They flew
completely under the radar. And with that being said, they
go up against a team today that now is gaining
some notoriety. Do you think that Purdue? And I hate
to say this out loud, I know all my Purdue
alumni listening, but the reality here is, do you think
Purdue could be that next team that gets caught up

(23:58):
on a snag? It's only plus six for McNee State
and McNee State beat a very good seasoned Clemson team
that we thought.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Was from a better conference. Can it happen again? Today?

Speaker 2 (24:12):
Can Purdue get caught slipping? Go ahead, Jake Poppy. Then
I'll go over to you, Ronny Be.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
You know, and I think it was interesting you mentioned
it earlier, the Will Wade, the rumors that he's going
to NT State and the acc You know, I thought
that that was gonna be a you know, kind of
a punch in the mouth and Clemson would come out
and take a man and and no, sir, but I
kind of agree because maybe the seams and you know,
Will Wade's hyping up the boys, telling them what do

(24:38):
they want to hear, Maybe that he's gonna stay, or
maybe hey, this is our last front, give me all
you got.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
Maybe they're just paying them money in a cash bag.
I mean, it's legal now. I'll be like, look, if
you beat FORDU I got twenty five thousand and everybody's
locking from the local Dennis didn't win here.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
That's all legal now and I'm glad for it. More
of it, but go.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
Ahead, But yeah, no. I So anyway, on the game,
I think that McNeese will come out and obviously play well.
I think the line is showing that that. I think
this produe team is just all around two solid. I
think it's a good matchup for them too. I think
Purdue we'll move on in advance, and I think you'll,
you know, be the end of the Cinderella run here
with at me. To be honest, it's really not even

(25:19):
worth it on the money line. Like you said that,
these dogs have been worth on the money.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Line, none of them. The dogs have been darking, no
cash coming out of it. One of you guys got
some background noise, might be you, Ronnie B. I don't
know if you're at the casino yet, but I know
it's been a thousand people over there at the ramp Park.
You should get shout outs to the ramp Park Casino.
I gotta get over there with you, Ronnie. We talked
to one of these managers. We put something together. We
got a big football season coming up. We're home of
USC Trojans and La Rams. Here at KSHP one or

(25:46):
seven point ONEFM and fourteen hundred Las Vegas.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
All of you listening around the country.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
If you want a foothold in Vegas and some marketing
in Vegas, we've got you hooked up for that too.
Here on the airways. Let's move into the next game here.
Rotation number eight one seven Arkansas the Arkin Assau Razorbacks
not being coached by the late great Norm Ridgardson anymore,
but they're back in the tournament. Going up against Saint

(26:10):
John's is the battle of the godfathers. You've got Cali
Perry versus Patino plus seven for Arkansas in the dog
position plus two fifty five Saint John's rotation number eight
one eight. Shout out to the San Fernando Valley on
that one minus seven minus three to one zero. Though
again expensive expensive, We're gonna have to break the bank

(26:31):
here if you want to make some money. Total of
one forty six. We've seen some explosive offense on the
one side in the first round, majors killing the mid majors.
Now we come into the second round. This is a
true matchup. This is one of the matchups I've got
on my board. You talk about Cinderella, well, there's the
reasons you lost. Their shoe probably had a stink and foot.

(26:52):
But Saint John's here, I think they're legit. But when
you talk about that coaching, as we mentioned earlier, here
you got the two god only one can go ahead
and become top with a two D copy. Ronnie b
will let you take it. Being you're the Chicago guy,
go ahead.

Speaker 4 (27:09):
Well, you know, I've been talking about Saint John's for
the last three four weeks that I think they're a
legit team, and they're they're starting to show what I've
been talking about. But I saw a nice clip about
Beatino when the question was asked, how's he gonna do
against Kyli Pari and he says, you know, me and
me and John, I'm not gonna lace it up. We're
not on the floor playing against each other, so we

(27:29):
just have to try and get our teams ready. And
I think that's gonna be the difference in this game,
which coach gets their team motivated to get up and play.
And I still think it's gonna be Saint John's. I
think they have a better defensive team. I think they
hit the boards better, which I think is gonna be
big in this game. They both use about the same
not that well either, so it's underneath and I think
that's where Saint John's gonna come out on top today.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Going over to you, Jake Poppy representing the East Coast
faction out in Pennsylvania, that's where you put the bodies,
do you think that Saint John's can get it done today.
Seventy eight points a game for Saint John's about seventy
seven for Arkansas. But again, Saint John's got that huge
a rebounding advantage at forty five boards a game. They
crashed the last sixteen assists a game.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Arkansas is a team that plays a balanced brand of basketball.
When you look at their starting five, you've got four
guys in double figures from the oh Flan Davis, and Wagner.
You got a v six there close at nine points
a game. And then you go back over to Saint
John's New York scrap ballers playing it like they're playing
for their last dollars, still getting that check though with

(28:34):
Luis Junior at Yoha four in Richmond rounding that out.
But Saint John's relies a lot on guard play. The
Arkansas Razorbacks, even though they don't get a lot of rebounds,
they do rely on the trap and the steal, and
that's something that we could see maybe being an issue
for Saint John's. We saw when Marquette gave them a run,
We saw when Creighton gave them a slight run in

(28:56):
that Big East Tournament. And also worry about Saint John's
wearing down a little bit playing so many games that
were close, that were tough in the Big East Tournament.
Now that they've gotten past that powder per first round,
this is a true test one of the sneakier teams
in the SEC, the Razorbacks coming in at twenty one
and thirteen, Saint John's thirty one and four. The Razorbacks,

(29:19):
granted they are a national team, but they're only a
ten seed here and Saint John's is a two seed.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
This is upset.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
Alert for me, and I talk about it from that
perspective of not saying I don't want Saint John's to
win this game. I do, but a betting perspective very expensive.
Can you lay three to nineteen? Jake Poppy go ahead?

Speaker 5 (29:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
First shout out to a Douce Thereo. His dad was
actually my AAU coach. He was a Memphis guy too,
so he called it Calipari forever man and that kid Daton.
Hopefully he'll be healthy today though I don't think he
played last game, and if he is, I would look
at Arkansas on the money line. But I like Arkansaw
to cover anyway. I like exactly what you just said.

(30:02):
They play a tough brand of basketball. They're gonna be
a tough out for anybody. I mean, I love Saint John's.
It's a tough team. They should win this game. But
I'm gonna take Arkansas plus the seven, plus the six
and a half and hope it's going to be a
close one.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
You talk about that plus six, seven and a half,
Ronnie b let's talk about the total one to forty five.
We need both of these teams to give me over
seventy five to get there. When you talk about that
Saint John's defense, that ability to get on the glass,
but you talk about Calipari teams that you know are
very high scoring teams, do you think that one forty
five is a little bit too low?

Speaker 5 (30:36):
Right?

Speaker 1 (30:37):
And maybe you can cash with taking an over here today.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
This is gonna be one of the hardest fought games
all day long. I've got it circled here at eleven
forty am. I'm actually gonna bet it myself. I'm gonna
take a risk. I'm gonna take a flyer here, but
I'm not gonna tell you which way I'm going that one.
You got to put fourth on kap Ertech or go
to jbdticket dot com.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
But that total, Ronnie Bee.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
Go ahead.

Speaker 4 (30:58):
Yeah, I think the total so it might be a
little low. Here. If I was gonna play this, i'd
take the over here. I think there's gonna be a
lot of nice rebound baskets underneath here. Saint John's very
tough on offensive rebounds. Ranks like seventh seams in the nation,
seventh in the nation. So I think there's gonna be
a lot of putbacks and a lot of easy baskets.
So yeah, I like the over here.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
There you go, liking the over going to you, Jake
Poppy down the list. Today we're talking about another upset
alert Creighton rotation number eight one nine the Blue Jays
plus three fifty five a dog you can sink your
teeth into against a team that can get cost slipping.
Rotation number eight two zero the Auburn Tigers minus eight

(31:38):
and a half. I don't like that, Okay, I'm just
not liking that. Another team that showed me that if
you play them the right way, you can beat them
quite easily, and then they're costing your minus four fifty
way too much. Total is one fifty here Jake Poppy,
Can Creighton keep it alive with that brand of three
and D three and D that's what they do. They

(31:59):
make they're free throws and they play a trap defense
more towards the last five minutes of the second half.
And let's not forget about these first half bets two people,
because when you talk about dogs, dogs have been covering
in the points in the first half. That's probably a
stat A lot of these other betting shows aren't covering.
They're just not getting you the money line. But this
is one of those games where I am gonna split

(32:20):
it into the halves. I like Creton in that first
half dog position. Can Auburn wake it up? Or are
we looking at a three fifty five payoff today, Jake Poppy,
than over to you, Ronnie Bee.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
Go ahead, Yeah, if creating exactly like you said, if
they can hit the threes, you know they're probably gonna
hit their free throws. They're a great free throteating team.
But if they can cast the threes, then absolutely, I
think they can stay in the number. I do think
you know, you'll see Auburn fucks their muscle here, maybe
make a runner two. But it's seemed Creighton with you know,
Creighton can with stand that punch, keep hitting those threes.

(32:51):
I think they'll get within the eight and a half.
I actually would look at the over too. I like
the over in this game.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
Yes, the over one to fifteen and a half. Two
teams that can put up buckets. Ronnie Vee, you talk
about that team total average eighty three points a game
for Auburn, seventy six points a game for Creighton. Rebounding
is even assists a slight edge for Creighton only a
point six edge. And average evenly matched teams. And when

(33:19):
I see even match I look for the money line
side here. Eighty three points for Auburn is their average.
The Blue Jays are slightly below that. So the sports
books that look, we're just gonna give you a spread
based on what they're averaging. Creighton only needs two more
jump shots. Maybe luckily give me two threes if you

(33:41):
can to get inside of that number.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
Do I think they can beat Auburn? I do.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
I think it's an evenly matched team. But you got
caup Renner for Creighton and you got Petterford for Auburn.
That's the matchup that I'm looking at today. And It
depends on who's able to get the first fifteen points
between the two. If kaup Renner is able to continue
to get rebounds, play inside and out and not get
war down by Pettiford, who's just to tear around the
basket getting put backs. He boxes out well. Again, Shout

(34:08):
out to college basketball this year. These guys got back
to the fundamentals. I've been watching the games. That's why
you're hearing a lot more of my analysis on that.
I do think Creighton can get inside of that eight,
but can they get you the plus three fifty runnie Bee?

Speaker 1 (34:20):
Go ahead? Oy?

Speaker 4 (34:22):
What this is in my book today? This is upset alert, Guests,
If the Kuck Brenner plays like he did against Louisville
and the team shoots even with them, I think this
is a possibility upset. I definitely would take the eight
and a half. I think it might be too many points.
If Creighton comes to play today, If they show up,
they have the capability of sam with Caulburn today.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
I agree with you, guys, Creighton, We're all over it here.
Take him in the points, maybe buy him up to ten.
Definitely take Creighton in the first half. I think that's
where they're going to get a lot of juice. But
one thing I will alert you guys, these Big East
teams have played a tough conference schedule, Okay, so we
look at those teams to maybe slip up a little bit.
You got Creighton and Saint John's, two teams that were

(35:03):
very big in the Big East this year, going up
against the SEC. And I think that's where the college
basketball guys wanted it when they put this together. They
wanted to see if the cream of the crop of
these conferences can play against each other because it would
create some more non conference opportunities. Let's take a look
at another game that I had here on my list,
Rotation number eight twenty three, the Gonzaga Bulldogs. They've been here,

(35:28):
They're gonna be here. They ain't never gonna win it. Okay,
it just says, what is plus one eighty three? I know,
I know, guys, I know plus one eighty three on
that money line total of one thirty nine and a half.
Interesting here because this is the first Houston total I've
seen over one thirty in the last month or so.
Houston eight twenty four is the rotation number minus five

(35:49):
minus two fifteen minus one thirty nine. Normally I would
say take Houston and go to sleep here. But Gonzaga
and Mark Few, they're like that pesky mosquito. They're always there,
they're always by, and they get you that itch that
you can't scratch.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
Houston hasn't played a team like this, Okay.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
Houston is used to getting you down low, getting boards
and kid playing keep away basketball so you can't get points.
And we saw that fifty to forty point drooping that
they did there in the first round. But when you
look at Gonzaga today, who doesn't have a lot to
play for who kind of got in if you will,
like I said, with just name recognition, Are they a
valuable bet today?

Speaker 1 (36:23):
Or do you take Houston in the under like we've
been doing and go to sleep. Go ahead, Ronnie Bay.
Your thoughts, Well, I'm.

Speaker 4 (36:28):
Gonna go to sleep. I'm gonna take Houston. I'm not
gonna play the total. But I like Houston. I've got
Houston in my final four and in the final game.
So I think Gonzaga is gonna come out and run
today and try to push the pace. But I think
that plays right into Houston's defensive ability here. So I
think turnovers are gonna be a key, and I think
Houston's gonna force them. And I'm gonna lay the points

(36:50):
with Houston.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Quick thought on that, Jake Poppy go ahead.

Speaker 3 (36:55):
I went Rannie on this one. You know, I'm gonna
gett Zaga guy. Though I used to be a real
getting Daga saying for the last few years they let
me down, you know, heartbreaks. This year's seems a little
bit different. I think Houston's too good. You know how
Houston plays against you know, talented teams, they usually played
pretty well. So I think Houston's gonna come out and
you know, I think they're gonna rip them. I like

(37:16):
Houston first half minus the two and a half, and
I like Houston pool game minus.

Speaker 2 (37:20):
Four, and now Houston minus the four and a half.
I'd probably buy Houston back to a minus one. Just
give me a win, baby, it's expensive. I don't want
to get caught out there in the rain. Let's talk
about another game here that's probably gonna be a snoozer.
But for bracketology, you got UCLA. They shouldn't be in there.
I know, I know they shouldn't be there, but they're

(37:41):
playing Tennessee today. Tennessee was another one of those teams
in the SEC that got tested in their tournament minus
five today, Ucla, you know, their coaches giving them a
lot of trouble, and they said some things about their
players that I think they've stepped up and performed well.
But one thirty one minus five looks like a boy
in game could be a snoozer here. And the question

(38:02):
I have is is UCLA worth that seven seed against
the two seed today? Did you just take Tennessee and go.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
Along with it? Go ahead, Ronnie Bee.

Speaker 4 (38:13):
Well, I don't know if this game would get snooze
or not. It could be both teams that could come
off flat. Neither one of them have shown me too
much over the Tennessee gets an up and down team.
If they come up strong like they usually do on defense,
that could be all their way today. So if I
had to play the game, I'm not playing it personally,
but I'd lean Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (38:33):
Here lay the points he's like in Tennessee. Let's talk
about some nit action here. The mid Majors rotation number
eight thirty three. You got Bradley going up against George Mason.
Give these guys a shout out again, Bradley. I thought
they would have been dancing, you know, but they put
the UCLA in there, and I'm like.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
Well, you know, we'll see.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
But it is true though a lot of the mid
majors got sacrificed in that first round. George Mason, they
were trying to get to the dance. But you look
at it and you say to yourself today, is there
any magic here? With the n T minus two forty
one thirty three is the total? Jake Poppy, We're getting
ready to get out of here today. Thank you for
coming on. Let's talk about it. Mid major game man.

(39:16):
George Mason and Bradley dropped some grease for me.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
Go ahead, get no doubt. I mean to be honest
with you, the NIT has been more exciting than the
NCAA tournament. Had quote me on that. I promise. I've
been watching, You've been using some great games.

Speaker 1 (39:32):
U A. B.

Speaker 3 (39:33):
Who is a sneaker two and North Texas. I like
them to win it, but I say, hey, I like
George Mason. I feel like they should have gone into
the tournament. How they're just playing that. They dominated the
first game, I believe, and I think they're gonna dominate
here again today.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
There you go, Ronnie, be your thoughts on the mid majors,
and then we're getting ready to get out of here
for the day.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
Guys.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
College basketball is in full effect in Las Vegas and
around the country.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
Thank you guys so much for tuning in.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
George Mason and Bradley and that Ni t if you
need some extra action, Ronnie, b are you gonna put
your money ahead?

Speaker 4 (40:01):
I won't play the under here. Both of these have
a slowcase. Neither one of them shoot the ball. That
great three points was minimal brat Georgia. Mason is about
two hundred and seventies in the nation on three points.
So stay take the under here one thirty two and
a half.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
He likes the under one thirty two and a half
and that's a rap. Guys, thank you so much for
coming on the show this morning. We got about five
minutes left, so we're just gonna kick it around today.
When you look at the bracket and you look at
where teams are at right now, where do you think
is You know, Florida they plan huge con. I think
that's gonna be a nice little win. You've got Colorado State,

(40:36):
shout out the Mountain West, there's continuing to play along Maryland. Okay,
getting Maryland. You got Drake in Texas Tech. That's an
interesting matchup today. Talking about Drake here, not the rapper,
talking about the basketball team. Going back to you, Jake, Poppy,
just Drake out a chance today. That's a pretty decent
dog that is barking if you can get him on
that money line plus two forty five going up against

(40:58):
the Texas Tech team that no one's heard about out
of the twelfth. They're a very good team, strong rebounding team.
They don't shoot well. Neither one of these teams score
a lot total one twenty five and a half quick
thirty seconds apiece. Jake cooffe mid major versus smaller, big
time school glud.

Speaker 9 (41:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (41:15):
I think that, other than creating, Drake might be my
favorite underdog of the day. I think Drake's playing you know,
with some definitely some some spirit. That coach first year,
you know, brought all his players. They got some swagger
to him. Right now. I don't mind Drake. I do
think Texas Tech is very solid. Like you said of Texas,
Texas kind of squeezed them defensively. It's going to be

(41:36):
a tough game. I like the under, but I think
Drake can cover, and why not give you a Drake
money line. Let's see an upset for one.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
Let's see if we can get Drake on the money line.
Best player today, guys, let's go around the board. We've
got Saint John's lingering out there.

Speaker 1 (41:52):
Minus seven.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
Definitely buy them back to minus three. Don't get yourself
caught out there. I also like Creighton, buy them up
twelve for the game. Take them first half though. I
think that Creighton can get you some money on that
first half. But at the same time, you got to
look at it and ask yourself, is there any money
in that Houston Gonzaga game.

Speaker 1 (42:12):
That's the game.

Speaker 2 (42:13):
I know a lot of people are gonna be looking
at and I'm telling you right now, Houston's gonna put
the clamps on Gonzaga.

Speaker 1 (42:18):
This isn't a Gonzaga team for years ago.

Speaker 2 (42:19):
There's no Adam Morrison, there's no you know, Dan de
Colle if you will, these guys are a true mid
major basketball team this year got in because of their
name and pedigree in the interest and granted they won
in the first round, but I think Houston is gonna
do work. So again, Ronnie b what's your best player today,
my friend?

Speaker 3 (42:37):
Go ahead?

Speaker 4 (42:38):
Also back to that Drake game. It's my best better today.
They run the slowest pace in college basketball. They ranked
dead last in the base I think they could goroll
the ball, and that Bennett search is a baller. So
give me Drake and the points.

Speaker 2 (42:51):
Liking Drake and the points. And again, Jake Poppy, thank
you so much for coming on this morning. We'll love
to have you back. What's your best player of to
day or a couple good players of today, my friend.
I know people got to follow you on Instagram at
picket with Poppy, and hopefully we'll be able to get
you a link up on jbthicket dot com as well
because you've been contributing. Thank you so much for filling
in during this college basketball season. Giving you some grease

(43:13):
go ahead best plays.

Speaker 3 (43:14):
Baby, that would be great. I appreciate that.

Speaker 4 (43:16):
Man.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
Thanks for having me on, you know, I love it.
Sorry for my slow starts this morning, you know, foggy,
foggy pa morning. But anyway, I love actually Ucla today.
I know that you guys were talking about it a
little bit talking about Tennessee. I think UCLA is gonna
hang around. Give me UCLA plus the five.

Speaker 2 (43:33):
And a half like in UCLA plus the five and
a half, and that's a rap. Guys, thank you so
much for coming on the show this morning. Any final
shoutouts before we get out of here, go ahead, Jake Poppy,
and hopefully to have you back tomorrow morning as well.

Speaker 4 (43:48):
Yeah, I'll be back.

Speaker 3 (43:49):
Hey, shout out Robert Morris. I mean, won a game
against Alabama, who was ninety eighty one final I think
I need. They hung in there. They even had the
lead in the second half late in the game, like
seven minutes left. Shout out, Robert Morris. They almost did it.
I wouldn't be surprised if Andy Tole gets another coaching
jobs somewhere else.

Speaker 2 (44:09):
Sure, up there you go. You already know what time
it is, my ma ae man, Ronnie b. Where can
they find you today at the ram Parkersino, my friend,
Go ahead.

Speaker 4 (44:16):
Yep, I'll be out up there in about an hour
or so. Come on up, I'll be in the back row.
I'll give you some players with fucking basketball and a
shout out to my big ten that went undefeated in
the first round.

Speaker 1 (44:27):
Went undefeated in the first round.

Speaker 2 (44:29):
That's right, Ronnie be giving you grease, and that's how
we're gonna end it out today again, Guys, go to
jbdticket dot com check out the show. The replay will
be up in about thirty minutes, and most importantly, we're
gonna get off the air with one of my most
favorite calls, Jake Poppy.

Speaker 1 (44:43):
He mentioned it to you a little bit earlier. Again.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
Rest in peace, my may man, George Forman. This one's
dedicated for you and all you out here in Las
Vegas and around the world. Enjoy your March Madness weekend
and let's get the money.

Speaker 5 (44:58):
Anti Dune please. Trainer right next to me is saying
that you may hear it from Goes Crazier, Downs, Goost
Crazier Down, Goes Fraser, every weight tap is taking the
mandatory ATel and Foreman is the boys as can be
in a new cho Cornah, you're.

Speaker 4 (45:23):
Listening to the past of the Big.

Speaker 1 (45:30):
Shame Pasa Cat Vegas, cool boy

Speaker 3 (45:37):
Giving you that grease.
