I'm your hosting Boston a big board.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Jab the Ticket got him on the line with me,
My Maine man, Ronnie beat King of the ram Park
Casino's gonna be talking some more basketball with me and
Jake Poppy, the Maine man back east. Played a little
bit of college basketball. I think you played down Central Florida.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Right, that's correct, There you go, Central Florida.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Golden Knight on the line. You know, I played a
little bit back at Hawsher. You know it was a
short career though. You know, I ain't gonna doot my
horn too much. But again, glad to have you back
here on the line of man. Appreciate you this morning,
you know, because some days I wonder, you know, do
people even care? But yes they do, and I'm glad
to have you back here with me. So again, let's
jump into a college basketball again being brought to you
(05:50):
by friends over at Fubo TV, and I'm getting some
feedback from one of you guys there. Just make sure
you have the mute on if you're not ready just yet.
But I wanted to talk a little bit about the
college basketball landscape. You know, we're getting into March soon
conference tournaments. Mountain West Tournament's gonna be out here in
Las Vegas next month. So if you guys want some tickets,
go to my website jbthicket dot com. Talking to the
(06:11):
webmaster to get that updated. So if you see the
four h four, no, I haven't gone anywhere, just getting
it fixed. But more importantly, I'm gonna start off with you,
Jake Poppy. It's been about a year or so. Talk
to me about what you've seen in the college basketball landscape. Man,
are the teams that are supposed to be good playing
well and the teams that are supposed to be bad
playing bad?
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Because for me, I see a lot of parody. I
see a lot of teams ten and ten, eleven and eleven,
a lot of.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
Small schools, small minnos, not even dogs out there, not
really a lot of cash to be made. The sports
books are cutting back on the profit stability of the
spread in college basketball. When you look at some of
those big time money lines, I don't think we'll see
them this year in the tournaments because of the nil,
the transfer and just the way the rosters are. And
(06:56):
one of you guys got some bad feeback, Jacob, you
are one of those my.
Speaker 6 (07:00):
From tu go ahead, I was on MUTV.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
Okay, that's probably Ronnie Bee. He's at the casino, he's
working out. Get it over there, but go ahead.
Speaker 6 (07:09):
It's it's been a crazy and I mean you just
hit it on the head there with transfers, with the nil,
you really can't get a grip on it yet. I
don't think you will see, like you said, there's a
big money wise, simply because you know, one game anyone
can win. And I feel like a lot of these
teams are are pretty even out at the top. I mean,
I think you know you have your front runner, your
(07:30):
duke here Houston. You know, I think Florida looks good, Tennessee.
But other than that, I think it's gonna be a
pretty entertaining mark.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
Then there's you go.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
Ronnie Bee can you hear me, because you've got some
feedback going on over there.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Man, I heard Jake. Jake was talking and a consensus there, Ronnie.
Speaker 5 (07:48):
You there, I'm here, I'm quiet. There's nothing happening here.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
Okay, Yeah, I don't know. It sounds like some feedback
or something. I have no idea what's going on. But
to reiterate what Jake was saying, you know, he was
agreeing with me, the college basketball has become a heavily
parody type of you know, operation, if you will, And
when you look at it from the perspective of the betting,
what if some of the things you've seen, Ronnie Bee
as far as the betting lines, because I know it's
been tighter, they've been giving you less prop bets for
(08:15):
college basketball, if you will, and we've seen some changes
with that.
Speaker 5 (08:19):
But go ahead, Yeah, I have to agree with what
we're hearing here. It's parody. There's no front runner that
I see right now. It's you can place a wager
on about six or seven teams in there're up for futures,
and they're all eight to ten to one, twelve to one.
So there's no front runner at two to one, three
(08:40):
to one or four to one, So let's see what happens.
I think it should be an exciting March Madness this year.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
Yeah, I hope so, because you know, we need some
We need some excitement back in the sports world. We
got the big Game coming up next weekend down in
New Orleans. I've had an eventful start off to the
new year, just trying to keep everybody alive, if you will.
But most importantly, let's jump into it today, guys, again
being brought to you by our friends over at Foobo
TV this college basketball Saturday. Thank you so much for
(09:06):
tuning in one oh seven point one FM and fourteen
hundred here in Las Vegas around the country. iHeartRadio and
your affiliates. Rotation number six oh seven The Providence Friars
Big Road Doll going down to my hometown, Queens, New York.
That's why I was born and born at this exact hospital.
Rotation number six o eight the Saint John's Red Store.
My favorite college basketball team forever, always will be, never
(09:29):
gonna change. The Mike Jarvis era was the era that
had me putting little ankle weights on and jumping high.
But these guys are minus thirteen today, minus eleven on
the money line at home total was one forty four
and a half. Jake Poppy, I'll go over to you.
Being on the East Coast, you know this is one
of those situations where you look at it as a
requiem for the Big East. What happened college football realigned
(09:53):
this conference and now you seeing where college basketball is
residing and it's not doing too well here. But you
got Rick, you know, he's back in basketball, Thank god
getting rid of this guy. But pre nil era, see
how much of a time waste that was. But he's
got Saint John's at number fifteen, eighteen and three. Gift
shout out to where a shoutout is due. Saint John's
(10:13):
is playing some great basketball, checking him out last night,
But thirteen and a half might be a little bit
too expensive for me today. Don't know if I want
to put a Wall Street trade on that at minus
eleven hundred, go ahead.
Speaker 6 (10:24):
Yeah, you know you said it, Ray, college basketball is
better when Rick Fotinos in it. It is kind of
funny they kicked him out before the niow he was
doing this way before. But I know I love Saint
John's today. I think they're just a dominant basketball team
right now. Especially at home Providence.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
Providence has been kind.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Yeah, Providence needs some Providence.
Speaker 6 (10:44):
I actually look at the first half spread as well.
I like Saint John's minus seven first half, and I
like him to cover the full game.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Yeah, I mean, I'm looking at the total scoring though.
You got a Providence coming in at seventy nine and
a half. Saint John's at roughly eighty points a game,
so you're giving me a couple of extra bucks. And
the way Patino coaches, I saw him make some coaching
adjustments a couple of weeks ago. I think it was
I'm pulling it up here, but Saint John's was behind.
I don't know if it was Northwestern, it was one
(11:11):
of these schools they should have been beating. But he
did the old school coaching to make the adjustments. And
I come back twenty minutes later, going to get a
slice of piece in. Saint John's is up twenty. So
if you like him in the points here, you're not
gonna get too much money going over to you, Ronnie
b let's talk about the total one forty four and
a half.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
Do you think these guys can get up to score?
If St.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
John's get to twenty point lead. I think Providence is
just gonna laid out. I hate to say it for
you Providence fans, but I think that's what's gonna happen.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
Go ahead, Yeah, I'm leaning towards Saint John's here myself.
The points don't bother me at thirteen and a half.
Right now, I'm seeing on the board the Patinos in
his second year here with Saint Johnny's so he's got
what he wants. They're playing for him, they're playing hard
for him. I think their defense is going to be
there today. They don't take a lot of three point shots.
They play old school ball, right and I like boring.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
There you go. I like Saint John's two here. Expensive.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
Maybe put them as an anchor on a parlay, try
to adjust it a little bit. Maybe if you can
push it up to minus twenty, you can get in
the plus money on the spread side.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
But again, I do like Saint John's here. Just an
interesting matchup.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
Let's go to another game here that normally would be
an exciting game in college basketball, but it has become
a snooze in this conference. And I'm talking about the
ACC pulling this game up here. Where are we We're
in the three o'clock hour. It's U and C versus Duke.
I mean this would normally be national television, nationally televised.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
We're not seeing that. Mean the ACC. My god, Jake.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
Poppy, let me go back over to you here. The
ACC as a basketball conference. We're seeing the second generation
of head coaches come into this conference and they're not
doing too well.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
I mean, you know.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
We were so used to you know, the star Wars
at Carolina, the Dean Schmith's, the Roy Williams, the Mike Strazski's,
you know the guys up you know, the Lefty Drysels
back in the day, National Championship, Jim Beheim, I mean
he was big East, but they snuck over to ACC.
Whatever it may be. They were just quality coaches, quality
(13:20):
players coming out. Some of the greatest players of all
time in basketball have come out of the ACC. But
it has really watered itself out over the last couple
of the years. You got the Carolina tar.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Heels today going up against the Duke Blue Devils.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
I think it's like plus five plus five and a half,
not too big of a spread, but Carolina, I mean
at thirteen and nine, I think that's where they're at
I'm not seeing what their head coach is doing.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Who they got Hubert Davis coaching him? Low?
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Yes, Third Loe, Loen.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
Duke is Mark Lee better.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
I think they have a very strong team here, and
a lot of people aren't talking about them.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
They're talking about Auburn miss We'll get to that in
a little bit.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
But going back over to you, Jake Poppy, when you
talk about this Duke UNC game, you see it's not
even so much of a big of a deal.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
I can't even find it on.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
The spread list. They've got them buried in the bottom.
But what are your thoughts about this Carolina team? Can
they get it together? Long gone in the days are
the five stars and the one and dons at that school.
They got to work with what they got. Do you
think they got a shot today at least to make
it competitive?
Speaker 3 (14:22):
Go ahead?
Speaker 6 (14:24):
You know it's funny ask I think that they kind
of have to there. That's great node here already, which
is not good. I mean, they do have senior leadership,
like our j Davis at the Guard. He's really good.
But they you know, the pieces haven't came together. They're
gonna have to make a huge run. And I just
don't see that happening, don't I think Carolina misses the tournament?
Speaker 3 (14:45):
Yea, yeah, I do too. I mean, oh my goodness.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
You got a team averaging eighty two points a game,
thirteen and nine. Going back over to Duke, though they
got the super Frosh and Cooper flag. Now this guy
in the NIO, he can get a little bit of
money here, but you know, he's kind of like a
washedman's Christian Latner, you know, very good for what he's doing.
Nineteen points a game. Got a kid on their named Newpole.
I don't know if he's related to Rodney Newpole and them.
(15:11):
It's just an extra letter, you know how they did
jed Lis Island and it recognize this? Okay, but no,
the point that I'm saying is, you got a Duke
team here that's playing dominant basketball, eight and two, number
two in the country. Nobody is talking about them. Is
this going to be their national coming out party? Going
over to you, U, Ronnie B. Can Duke get a
dominant win over Carolina? Because minus fourteen, you're talking about
(15:32):
the Carolina tar Hills as a huge dog plus seven hundred,
but this isn't the Carolina Evold. You got a thirteen
and nine team going against an eighteen and two team here.
The spread is saying blowout. But we go back to
Tobacco Road, and from my era being down there, you know,
twenty thirty years ago, no matter what, it was zero
(15:53):
zero as a record, and Carolina's got to come out today.
They're playing at Cameron Indoor. That's always a tough place
to play. Fourteen point dog, I think it'll be close.
Carolina might not win it, but I think they might
get inside that spread. Go ahead, Roddy Bate.
Speaker 5 (16:07):
Yeah, I'm looking at thirteen and a half fourteen and
that to me is just a very large number if
you're gonna play this game. Obviously, the Duke freshmen are
very tough and strong and big and tall. But we
got North Carolina with some juniors and seniors that have
hard to play. They're not quitting. I watched them go
to day against Pittsburgh on the road and they were
playing tough balls. So I'm playing the game. I think
(16:31):
I'm gonna go with North Carolina and take the points.
With that senior guards. They have. Duke is tall, like
I said, and their defense is strong, but fourteen points
is too much for this rivalry.
Speaker 4 (16:42):
That's what I'm saying. This is back in Tobacco Road.
You're going zero zero, all out, balls out to the
wall out. You got to get Carolina on your board
today at plus fourteen, I just don't see it. You're
talking about John Shire, head coach of a duke, and
he played in this rivalry many many times. You know
he's gonna have his boys poised and ready, but remember
(17:02):
they still are freshman. In that senior leadership Carolina. One
of the things that has remained at North Carolina in
the tar Hill basketball program is senior leadership. I remember
years ago, rest in Peace guy named Autamoja Okalaja, he
was a senior leader, Mac tar Enji. Those guys in
the mid nineties not necessarily jumping off your screen as
(17:23):
NBA prospects, but at that college level kept Carolina relevant
and kept games like this close. Guys, we're talking some
college basketball this morning.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
It's sounding good.
Speaker 11 (17:33):
Man.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
I'm waking up. I'm like, hey, back on the court.
You know, a little crossover spin back jump shot, It'll
go in.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
Or you gonna follow me. Jake Poppy, stay on the
line with me here. We're glad to have your insights man,
former college basketball player down.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
At Central of Florida.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
Drop a little grease for you here, quick shout out,
and then we'll take a commercial break. Ronnie Bee, you'll
be able to tell folks where they can get your picks.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
Go ahead, Jake, Where did he go?
Speaker 5 (18:00):
Oh? I'm here?
Speaker 8 (18:01):
There you go?
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Got you on here? Sounding like uh got me? Sound
like I'm on training date, Jake, Jake, come back to
day like unc helo.
Speaker 4 (18:11):

basketball still haven't touched on the pro. Shout out to

lot of.
Speaker 3 (18:58):

Speaker 4 (19:03):
But you know how like when you go to you know,
like the movies, you know, or like just something you
really don't want to do, but you're doing it and
you kind of get interested, and then something happens to
make you.
Speaker 3 (19:13):
Be like, man, I knew I shouldn't have game over again.
Speaker 4 (19:16):
That's what happened to me the other night with the

how you like it?
Speaker 5 (22:48):
Love it?
Speaker 2 (22:48):
Here you go, here you go listenak to the boss
of the pick.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (22:52):
Getting back into it. Now, let's talk about another team
that has been very, very good. I've liked this team
for a long time. Again coach tom Io to the final,
if you will, twentieth century stalwarts of college basketball still coaching.
Talking about those Michigan State Spartans, number seven in the country,
seventeen and two going up against the USC Trojans today,
(23:14):
who again, mark Lee better. They just picked up Elijah
Arenas in the signing portal, gonna be another super freshman.
There are two guys that are coming in next year
that even though they're Nepole babies, I've watched them play.
I've seen them play, They're the real deal. Talking about
Elijah Arenas and what's the one kid up, Anthony's kid.
(23:38):
I can't think of his first name, but Carmelo Anthony's
kid going to Syracuse. Those two kids, Kayen, that's it,
thanks guy, Kay and Anthony watch out for him. This
this guy could bring back Syracuse like Earl of Pearl
Washington or even his buddy just Pops of course, Carmelo Anthony.
But we're talking about Michigan State today going up against USC.
(24:00):
Where do you think this one is going to roll out?
Because I've looked at this game a few times here,
you know, I've been looking at the matchups and I'm
saying to myself, you know, USC isn't a bad team.
They got Eric Musselman as the coach. He used to
coach over the Nevada you know his coaching style. Wait,
one of you guys sounds like you're in the hallway.
What do you guys owe somebody? Somebody get off, go
back out in public and talk anybody. Go mess with
(24:21):
your rotation number seven one to three the Michigan State
Spartans minus four on the road. That's why I want
to talk about this game, because you got Eric Musselman's
USC Trojans. You could listen to it right here KSHP
one on seven point one FM A and fourteen hundred
plus four at home plus one sixty seven on the
money line. Now, when we talk about coaching and young upstarts,
(24:41):
Eric Musselman has been around for a while. Tom Isoha
is a good coach, But I also want to take
a look at some of the opportunity here with USC
as a home dog.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Very solid home team.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
They play scrappy, they've got decent defense behind them, and
they can hit the three ball in a crunch. I
think that's why the spread is so tight. Over to you,
Ronnie B first, because I think it's probably you over
at the casino. Talk to me about you think about
this game?
Speaker 3 (25:04):
Go ahead?
Speaker 5 (25:05):
Well, what I'm looking at it right now? And all
of a sudden the line is off the board for
me here. So I don't know what.
Speaker 4 (25:11):
Course of course, because we just mentioned of course those
guys are like no, no, I knew he was gonna
find that one.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Don't don't take start start switching it. Go ahead.
Speaker 5 (25:21):
Yeah, it's off the board right now. So I don't
know what's going on. I don't know what the total is.
Don't You've got minus four? You say, so something must
be happening here.
Speaker 4 (25:34):
But yeah, you've got to get over to BetUS dot com.
Rotation number seven one three Michigan State minus four.
Speaker 5 (25:40):
Yeah, yep. If it stays minus four, I'm gonna stay
with Michigan and is though here. Uh, they're gonna play
some defense. They're playing good ball. They're on a ten
game winning streak. They've only got two losses. Is those guys.
I'm playing hi hi hipball right now. So yeah, I'd
have to go with Michigan State, even if it's on
the road.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
There you go, He's like in Michigan State, even on
the road. Going over to you, Jake Poppy, you hear
what the sportsbooks are doing. They're juicing Ronnie bees line.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
They're like, oh no, not today, not today. Go ahead, Yeah, there.
Speaker 6 (26:09):
Must be juice in our lines both because I'm all
over Michigan State today as well. I think tom Izzo
has this team the best I've seen it, honestly in
quite some time. They're gonna make a deep run. I
think they're gonna flex our muscle on UFC here and
blow them out. I would look to take Michigan on
like a minus eight, minus nine all. I think they're
gonna win by them.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
So he likes to buy it up a little bit.
Speaker 4 (26:31):
Now when you talk about it from the perspective of
the total, where do you see this one going. I've
got this one price at one forty nine. That means
these teams got to give me seventy five seventy seven
points a piece. I don't know if that's going to
be a possibility with USC's offense now they've had some
injury musclemans more of a defense three and D kind
of coach talk about that total a little bit. Do
(26:52):
you think we got an over or a slight undercoming
here at the Galen Center?
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Go ahead, I'm.
Speaker 6 (26:58):
Looking at the under. Okay, I think the I think
Michigan State, like we said, they play a good defensive game.
They have scored some points in some games this year,
but they're a defensive back team. That's who Mezzo is.
And then USC, like you mentioned, they're gonna try to
They're gonna play tough. They're gonna try there at home.
You know, it's a big game for them. Musselemen will
have them up and ready. I think it would just
be uh, Michigan State will We'll get back. We'll get
(27:21):
to that ten to eleven point at the end by
free throws and stuff. But I think it'll go under.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
There you go, I'm seeing it back here on the line.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Official CBS Sports USC plus four and a half it's
moving up a little bit minus two pH five on
the money line for the Spartans. Going back over to you,
Rodnie Be against thank you Jake for that analysis the total.
You got a team that can't really score USC Again,
they play hard, but let's go over some of the
you know, point totals that they've had over the last
couple of games, eighty four, seventy eight, eighty four, ninety nine.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
But they just don't get the win.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
And when you talk about earlier on in the season,
I think later on, going into this big ten turnament
for the tournament, I think USC might be one of
those teams that ends up with some fodder they can
score a lot. I'm thinking this one might go over
just because of the three point ball, if they can
get hot from three. It's priced at four and a
half for a reason, and that's because the three and
(28:15):
d of the USC Trojans and it being a road game.
If it was a slip up today for Michigan State,
I think it would be a defensive side of the thing.
They may win, But you also got to look at
it from that total, I think we could get an
over today. Ronnie Be your thoughts, it's one forty nine
and a half.
Speaker 5 (28:33):
Yeah, I'm looking at a few things here and I
have to disagree on a total. I like the under
here for a couple of reasons. Michigan State does not
throw up the three ball that much. As a matter
of fact, they they ranked three hundred and fiftieth and
three point field goal percenter, so that tides are there.
They're going to go inside with this game. And that
(28:54):
shows me too, because they out they're the tenth best
rebounding team in the nation right now. So in another
factor I like here that the leans to me to
the under is USC free throw percentage. It's only seventy
three percent of the team, so the free points aren't
going to be there. The defense for Michigan State and
the three point the non shooting for Michigan State. This
(29:15):
to me leaks to the under, and I think Michigan
States could have staled the pace down. USC likes the
run and gun.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
There you go. Well, it's got a little bit of
a split decision here. I'm taking a look at it
from the perspective of if USC can get some three
balls going in play some defense, they could possibly get
a slight over just because of the team averages. I
don't see a lot of early scoring from the USC,
but they seem to try to look at it from
the second half and they say, look if we got
(29:41):
to catch up or we got to keep it close.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
And plus musselm was playing for his job. This is
a program, you know.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
This is a coach who's moved around to about three
different universities. He was at U and R, which is
Nevada Reno, he was over at Arkansas. Now he's at
USC with a twelve and eight team. A good win
over Michigan State today at home. It only gets you
plus one seventy. So I'm not telling you to bet
the money line here, but if you look at it
from the betting side, Michigan State is the clear bet
(30:06):
today if you look at it, I do agree with
my guys here, Michigan State should win this game. It's
just that total was interesting because you got two teams
that like to put up a lot of points. Let's
move to another afternoon game that I had here. Again,
shout out to my may man legally putting together the
little package for me. Yesterday of games Syracuse, we were
just talking about them. You know, you got Kyan Anthony
(30:26):
hit him up to the next fall going up against Cal.
This is another one of those East Coast West Coast
new rivalries because the ACC aka the All Coast Conference
is now bringing that same magic that the Big Ten
is and this would normally be an interesting matchup for say, bracketology,
but we're looking at these two now as conference foes
(30:48):
in the ACC talking about these Syracuse Orangemen. Where do
you see these guys going? And going back over to you,
Jake Poppy, I'm looking at Syracuse and I'm saying to myself,
I think they're trying to make a big run to
go after nil guys and super freshmen, because I don't
see them in the top twenty five. Don't see very
many ACC teams in the top twenty five. The ACC
(31:12):
with the Louisville Cardinals at number twenty one is the
first one I see here on my list, and then
of course you got Duke at number two. But then
it's a round robin of the rest of the conferences here.
What are these two teams allow the entire ACC going
to have to do to improve their basketball output for
the men because we're not seeing the interest, we're not
seeing the signings and we're just not seeing recruits really
(31:34):
pan out. A lot of parody in the acc Ja Poppy,
your thoughts on that go ahead?
Speaker 6 (31:39):
Yeah, I think when you know Beheim left Syracuse say
they just sucks a big time head. They're getting this
talent a big time They're not getting the talent they
used to have, you know, like you said, they do
have Anthony coming in, which is awesome, but they haven't
got any big time talent like they used to. Basketball
(32:00):
is better when Syracuse is in the top twenty five.
So I want them to get it going, but they
won't happen this year.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
They're siga fork them, sigga fork at them.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
But today they're on the line again, rotation number eighth
nine the Syracuse Orangeman or the Orange if you know
you're one of those folks, plus five plus one eighty
on the dog line, one forty seven and a half.
It looks like going towards March madness, teams are going
to start trying to score more and try to make
it exciting unless they can want to pack it in
and end up black college football.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
And everybody's like, well, we ain't going to Bowl Gay,
we ain't going tournament.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
I'm in the Chance Football and then you got the
Cal Bears out here struggling minus five today. Though you
got Cal, this is a game where I find it
interesting that you would take the team at home, which
I don't think is the better team, and make them
the favorite. I think they're getting more of the travel
bonus and the home court advantage bonus, and I think
that the sportsbook makers want to keep it close. Only
(32:56):
minus five on this game, Ronnie, be your thoughts here.
I know this one is kind of a snoozer, but
it's interesting if you want to figure out what the
state of the ACC is from a basketball perspective. I
think this is going to be a perfect matchup because
you take a star ward from the East Coast with
an upstart former Pac twelve team out here on the
West coast, we might be in for a stinker.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Go ahead, Ronnie, Big, I got it.
Speaker 5 (33:20):
I gotta agree with you. Here. We got a nine
and twelve Syracuse going up against eleven and ten California.
I can't see anybody laying five to six points in
this game, so I'd have to take the points here
with Syracuse. They're both statistically evenly matched, so it's that
home court that's strong for California. I don't see it,
(33:40):
So I'd take Syracust.
Speaker 4 (33:42):
To this point.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
Yeah, I mean, but just look at the records.
Speaker 4 (33:45):
You just mentioned nine and twelve, cal At eleven and ten.
But this is across the board, guys. And again, if
you're a big time college basketball fan, thank you for
tuning in this morning. I'm your host and Boston a
big board JV the Ticket Vegas Scoreboard Express right here
in Las Vegas. Around the world, I Heeart Radio. We
have been talking about the resurgence or the emergence, if
you will, of these football conferences increasing their prowess in basketball.
(34:09):
And I mentioned this a couple of years ago on
one of my NIL shows. I said, the big time
football schools are going to have some leftover money to
keep their profile going during college basketball season. I mean,
you're talking about an old college football star war in Auburn,
who now under Bruce Pearl, are one of the top
college basketball teams every year. And I mean that's not
(34:30):
to say that they weren't good back in the day.
I remember they had a guy named Porter. He was
a power forward, Joey Porter something on No I played football,
but it was a Porter kid.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
He came out of Auburn. Very very good. Jake.
Speaker 4 (34:42):
You might you know a little bit about this because
you played ball. But the SEC seems to be the
more dominant and the more skilled conference, while the Big
Ten is the loaded conference. And I'm talking about college
basketball here. From that perspective, when you look at the
old sixty five, seventy five, eighty five, whatever they're going
(35:03):
to bring it to this year, who are your top
three teams did you think are gonna give players a
chance to not only go to the tournament this year
in the top twenty five, Because again I'm looking at
the top twenty five, it starts off Auburn eighteen and one.
We don't have any undefeated teams. Let's just say that
long Arne of the Dean Smith days and the days
(35:23):
of you know, the guys over at Duke, you know,
you know Kossewski, you know thirty and oh or you
know twenty two and oh. In these seasons, I'm looking
at teams even my alma mater, Purdue sixteen and five,
Kansas at eleven, fourteen and five, Kentucky fourteen and five,
A lot of teams with losses, which means these teams
can be beat. And with that being said again, Jake Poppey,
(35:43):
your best plays to early plays for the tournament. I
want you to stay on the line here with me.
We're gonna take a short commercial break, come back and
finish up the show. But as I was mentioned in that,
from that perspective, because the conferences are newer, they're not
as dominant, are we going to see some big time
dog spreads in that first week of the tournament, not
(36:04):
only the NCAA tournament, with even some of these conference
tournaments with the expansion go ahead, Jake, Bobby, Yeah, you.
Speaker 6 (36:12):
Know, I think there's a conference tournament you might be
able to I actually know. And the conference tournament you're
not gonna see it as much as you well, in
the first round of the March Madness tournament, you know,
with those playing games and you know conference winners that
sneak in and stuff like that, you get these teams
that'll play up against Purdue and Augurn and be you know,
(36:32):
big twenty thirty point dogs.
Speaker 5 (36:34):
That first week.
Speaker 6 (36:35):
So I would say, wait till March Maddness, you'll see
the lines.
Speaker 4 (36:39):
Then there you go, Ronnie be your thoughts on that,
and then we'll take a short commercial break, come back
get the best plays of today.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
I need to get out of here, but go ahead.
Speaker 5 (36:47):
Yeah for what I see right now with the parody.
If come tournament time, the points are going to be
very gold for you. Put the points in your pocket
on this tournament.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
There you go, he's telling you. When we get back
from this commercial break, best plays of the day. Alas

Speaker 11 (40:04):
JD.
Speaker 6 (40:04):
By the way, I got to thank you again. It's
been a pleasure to be back on. I look forward
to jumping on as we you know, approach the tournament
season here. But my favorite place today I got two
I mean we already mentioned one. I love Michigan State.
I think that's one of my favorite plays of the day.
But the other one, and this may talk to some people,
I like Georgia to cover that twelve and a half
(40:24):
against Alabama. I know they're at Alabama, but I like
that Georgia team to get in that line.
Speaker 4 (40:30):
There you go, he likes for it to get inside

couple hours. There at the ramparks, you can find me.
I'll talk to you, give you some information that I got,
and my best play today, JB. I'm gonna take the
Michigan Wolverines over Rutgers. I know that a stay kid
is very good, but he's a one man team right
now because Harper is out and they're going up against
Danny Wolfs and Vlad Golden, two seven footers that might
(41:31):
put some damage on him today. So Michigan minus the
point today is my best player.
Speaker 3 (41:36):
There you go, that's the best player today. You know
what my best player of today is? There isn't one.
Speaker 4 (41:40):
I'm just gonna be watching some college basketball having some fun.
