Speaker 1 (05:17):
Rotation number six forty one.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
The Iowa State Cyclones plus eleven today in the dotle
position going up against Houston.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Houston is back at home. Houston has been playing.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Some good basketball, very good basketball minus eight twenty five,
though on the money line you don't want that. The
interesting part here is the total, the total of one
point thirty. This is one of the lower totals that
I have seen in the past couple of weeks. And
I know it's because of the defense of Houston, But
also are we looking at this as maybe Iowa State

(05:49):
can't score the basketball now? I always state it is
not that bad of a basketball team. They're playing at
their peak now here in the Big twelve. But you
look at where Houston is at today minus eleven, minus
eight twenty five, does it seem like it's going to
be a little bit more expensive if you will Ronnie
Be to continue to rock with Houston going forward, since
we gave him that Greece last week.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Go ahead, Well, we.

Speaker 6 (06:10):
Got a good ball game here. I think there might
be a couple injuries on Iowa State side that might
have some problems or guards. A couple of them are out.
Curtis Jones is out, Keisha and Gilbert South, so that
might be a little something to look at here as
far as ball control. But Houston's defense is relentless. They're
at home today, coming back off a couple of road games.

(06:32):
I like the total going under here, this one thirty
one and a half. There's a reason it's a low total.
I've always been told that if it's low, go low.
If it's high, go high, don't be afraid of it.
So I'm leaning towards the under here in this game.
I think the defenses. Iowa State's got a strong defense
as well, as you said. Neither one shoots the three
point that well, so it's going to be a battle

(06:53):
underneath and then the boards and on the defensive side.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
Now, let's talk about it from the perspective of the
betting side. Here, Iowa State or big dog plus five
sixty five on the road, and there are no slots.
There are a dog with teeth here ranked number eight
in the country if I'm not mistaken, and you're playing
against the Houston team that again is still trying to
get that top five ranking. Here, when I look at

(07:16):
where we are today as the I pull up the
AP rankings here, okay, yeah, well you did get Houston.
They're in the top five, so they did move up one.
You move down and you take a look at Iowa State,
and you got to ask yourself, it's just a team
that you can legitimately say at number eight is a
dog that's barking today.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
They've got injuries today, but can.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
They get inside of that spread? At least minus eleven
is a lot for Houston. Again, is a team that
doesn't necessarily blow you out. They tend to wear you
down on the defensive side. And Ioway State at twenty
and five, clearly they can win some games. I think
it's a dog with teeth on the road today, if
not at least from the points perspective. And I know
it may be tempting to get for that plus five
sixty five, but I don't know if that's possible.

Speaker 6 (07:55):
Go ahead, right, yeah, I don't think the money line
for Iowa State is possible today. They're not playing as
good a basketball as Houston is the last ten games,
Iowa's face like six and four, and I don't know
what the update is on your current eyes there, JB.
If you take a look minor showing that the liner's
moved to minus twelve and a half. So the money's

(08:15):
coming in. Yeah, the money's coming in on Houston right now.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
Yeah, Houston the Cougar's taking a lot of the cash
in this particular matchup. Again, I'm still looking at Iowa State.
When you get close to tournament time and you have
one of those tournaments like the Big Twelve that has
a lot of teams that are vying for tournament space
within the conference tournament, you've got to look at seeding.
I always state it's already a top ten team here,
and I don't think they want to fall flat on

(08:40):
their face today by getting blown out by Houston.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
That's a big number.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Give me Iowa State at the number eight spot in
the points, not getting tricked with the money lining in today.
You know things can go where these college ball kids.
Not everybody's got Patino coaching them. But I do think
I always state, even if it goes under, like Ronnie
d said, you know, a sixty five sixty game is
kind of where I'm looking at this thing to be.
Let's move along to another one. Let's go over to

(09:04):
the ACC. Now, the ACC got some decent teams if
you like basketball. We're talking about.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Clemson and SMU.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
Now, the Clemson Tigers in basketball this year have been
doing very very well, so the ACC. Outside of Duke,
they're the only team that is in the top twenty
five at number eighteen. So we go into this one
and they ask you, Ronnie, b are we going to
talk Clemson basketball here? We're not talking football, gotta be
talking basketball. And that's the thing that makes you want

(09:34):
to say to yourself, is this a valuable bet today?
Because SMU is no slous SMU is very good basketball team,
twenty one plus twenty one team, and they're going on
the road today. But my question to you is how
do we see value here? Because Clemson has a very
very good offensive attack. No one is talking about similar
matchup twenty and six. They're on the road today going

(09:55):
down to SMU. SMU and twenty and six Clemson twenty
one and five, evenly match team dog barking here on
a hair SMU at home in the home dog position.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
How do you think this one turns out? Also a
total of one?

Speaker 6 (10:08):
Forehead, Ronicky, you got the line at what for SMU here?

Speaker 1 (10:13):
But plus one plus one is the dog right now
live on Zby.

Speaker 6 (10:17):
Okay, well this is this is slip because Clemson came
out getting the points. Now that slips, so the money's
coming in on Clemson. It's funny you pick this game
here and I got it written down here to give
up later in the show is my best bet. So
I'm gonna give it out right now. It's a client
play as well. I'm taking Clemson here. I like what

(10:37):
they've been doing in their last ten games. They're on
a nine to one streak. They beat Carolina, they beat Dukes,
They're playing good basketball at the right time of year.
They've meshed well. They shoot the three pointer like thirteenth
in the nation, so they've got a strong underneath. Yes,
I like Clemson today. I think they're gonna come out
and play good ball.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
Still, I think they will as well SMU though not
being necessarily ranked with that type of quality of schedule,
and you look at Louisville rounding out the top twenty five,
do you think there could be a chip on the shoulder,
and the reason why I say that this game is
priced a little bit tighter. If I was to say
a team that beat Duke give you the minus three here,
you might even want to buy it up a little bit.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Ronnie. If you're going with Clemson, go.

Speaker 6 (11:19):
Ahead, Yeah, this is I agree with you on Matt.
I like Clemson, though I can't say SMU's not playing
good ball, but there's a reason they're not ranked in
the top twenty five, and I think the line is
telling you right now that this home court's not going
to do too much for him. SMU's not bad at home.
They're eleven and four at home this year. Clemson's six

(11:42):
and three on the road. But I like the way
Clemson is playing the ball right now. There's another team
we saw yesterday that's on a nice streak. When the
teams get on streaks, you got to write them at
Michigan State yesterday proved to me that the team's going well.
And the coaching is the difference too. I think Clemson's
coach is a little little better than SMU, So I'm
gonna ride with Clemson.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
There you go, going with the Clemson here could be
a dog, could be a favorite. Fifty eight percent of
the money is on Clemson. You mentioned that six and
three road record, eleven and four at home for SMU
should be a tight nail bier.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
And when you.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
Talk about that total between these two teams, it's hard
for me to pick. You know, you get feast of
famine with both of these teams. Never really know where
you're gonna get the scoring from. With SMU, they play
kind of a round robin ball. Whoever you can score,
let's see you score. You look at their you know,
top five players here for SMU, Like I said, everybody's
in double figures. You go over to Clemson, they got

(12:37):
kind of the regular college basketball four guys averaging double
You got a Hunter at the top with seventeen. But
again going back to SMU, it's a round robin nobody
averages more than fifteen points a game. And there's got six,
I repeat six guys in double figures averaging and they
do have a five point average increase on Clemson today

(12:58):
at an eighty two point per game, seventy seven points
per game for Clemson, So we're looking at an over
here for that total of one forty six. But do
you think there's some value that can be made by
adjusting the line going with Clemson or maybe SMU if
you can put them in a good strong dog position.
I know you like Clemson, but when we talk about
it from that perspective, looking at some of the stats,
what does Clemson have to do to overcome that SMU

(13:20):
is better in points rebounds?

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Anesys go Ahead.

Speaker 6 (13:23):
Brought that what a lot of it is the schedule.
You're looking at who they've played, who they've matched up against,
and this total is kind of deceiving. As you said that,
they're showing averages between the two teams approaching one hundred
and sixty points a game, but the line set at
one forty five and a half. So the lines makers
are telling you they're looking for a slower pace and
a lot less points. So be careful on the over

(13:46):
betters out there. It's it's a game. I think that
they stay away from the total. But again, my best
bet of the day is Clemson.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
There you go, liking Clemson on the best bet of
the day. Let's go to another game that had a
lot of folks running around with their heads cut off
trying to figure it out. Alabama versus Kentucky today. Now,
Alabama's been taking some heat because they've been taking a
few losses. Man, still at number four though, and they've
gone down two positions, and it just seems to be

(14:14):
a battle for the South. The South is ruling basketball
right now at the top Auburn, Florida Duke and then
coming down to Alabama. But we start talking about Kentucky
at number seventeen, still in top twenty five. Looks like
they're going to be going dancing. But I think that
record is atrocious. Okay, seventeen to eight and your number seventeen.

(14:34):
Come on, man, I mean it's a question that I
have from not only you got to keep teams in
with the branding, I get that, but are these teams
even good enough to maintain that stature being in you know,
top twenty, top twenty five and you got.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Eight losses and we were.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
Just talking about a team in smu unranked with twenty wins.
I mean, come on, now, maybe it's conference FRO, but
you know, Kentucky today, huge dog going up against Alabama.
We talked about this a couple of weeks ago, Kentucky
still being ranked.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Are they gonna get to twenty ones this year.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
There's only a couple of games left, a couple of
weeks of college ball left, plus eleven huge road dogs
for Kentucky. You got seventeen versus number four total in
this game is one eighty huge total, very very expensive,
and when you talk about it from that perspective, Kentucky's
got to play the game of the season. This is
kind of an early SEC tournament type game. And I'm

(15:33):
not seeing Kentucky getting blown out here because at an
eighteen and eight, nineteen and.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
Seven record, or you know, depending on I've seen it
in a couple of wait, come on, now, seen a
couple of different numbers.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
But the point I'm making is Kentucky, are they that
bad to lose by eleven to an Alabama team that,
as you've mentioned, over the past couple of weeks, have
been taking some losses themselves.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
Go ahead, Ronnie.

Speaker 6 (15:54):
Thought that what Kentucky's problem has been in the past
few weeks, their point guard Butler's been out with his
shoulder injury, and that's big for them. He controls the ball,
he controls the temple, He dishes the ball to the
guys that are open, and they have not had that
their backups are not near as good as Butler is,
and that's been Kentucky's problem. Now today, I'm looking at

(16:17):
the injury report that says Mark Sears for Bama is undisclosed.
It's a game time decision. That's big for Alabama too,
because he does the same thing for them and Butler
does for Kentucky. If Series is in, I don't think
Bama has a problem being Kentucky handily today, and that's
why the Lion reflects what it does. And they're coming
off a couple losses that they got embarrassed with, so

(16:38):
I think Bama comes out very strong today. But make
sure I'm not playing the game myself personally, but make
sure Series is playing if you're leaning towards Alabama, because
he's a key as far as bringing the ball down
the court for Bama too.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
Yeah, I'm looking at that total of one pint eighty.
Now you mentioned that one of the key players is out.
Is that going to be one of the totals that
you just bet the under and go to sleep?

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Go ahead?

Speaker 5 (17:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (17:01):
I think I don't think one eight is a good
play to go on the over, especially if Sears is
out as well. I definitely would play the under. I
might even look at it see if Sears is out,
if Seers is out and Butler is out, the guards
bringing the ball up the court. Sometimes you're gonna have
a lot of turnovers going on in a game like
this today, especially with Beman's defensive pressure.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
Right and I'm talking about ninety points for each team
not having to take the under and go to sleep.
That's the doll player of the day. So when we
come back from this short commercial break, we're gonna get
back into a couple of more games.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Ronnie a guy I.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
Said, we may even have a short day to day
because we're just enjoying it so much. The weather out

the world. Thank you guys so much for tuning in
this morning. So Ronnie, let's jump into the next game
that we've had on our list today. It's all college basketball,
all about the dogs today. Rotation number seven ninety seven,
b Yu. The Cougar's gonna be a cat fight nowt

(21:37):
in the Southwest going up against rotation number seven ninety.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Eight the Arizona Wildcast.

Speaker 4 (21:42):
Now, this is one of those teams that are very
very good, evenly Matt same team, same record, but Arizona's
mine is.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
A at home GYUS.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
No Slaus Road Dog that I'm thinking has a chance here,
Ronnie BG, you got a little bit of feedback there
on your microphone. But I'll go ahead and let you
jump in on this one Battle of the South US.
How do you see it happening?

Speaker 6 (22:01):
Go ahead, sorry for that. If I'm getting a couple
of clients that are listening to his text and any
while we're talking, so that's the problem, thank you. Yeah,
it's it's all a good thing that they're looking for
places and that they're listening to the show, so it's
all good. Uh. This YU team is they just coming
off of what what's the it's they just played Kansas

(22:22):
and they embarrassed Kansas.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
And obliterated them. Yes, Kansas is not Yeah, we're not
talking about Kansas this year.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
I don't know who's running that basketball squad. Do they
have no ni own money? They're not even giving out
Zaxby's chicking, But go ahead.

Speaker 6 (22:36):
Yeah, that's uh, that's a different team than we're used
to seeing, that's for sure. Now That Arizona team is
coming home after a nice win playing Bailor last weekend. Uh,
they beat him by six or seven points on the road.
So and I watched a little bit of that game,
and that love kid is playing some good basketball right now.
So I like Arizona today at home. I think this

(22:56):
number is right there for a reason. Again, the points
don't scare me when the lights makers make them and
set them if you got the right team and you're
looking at how they're playing the ball and what they've
been doing the last few games, and Arizona's the home
record is eleven and two and if you look at
BYU on the road, they're three and five under five hundred.
So I'd like this home court advantage. I think that's

(23:18):
the by Canvas last week with the home court advantage.
So let's see what happens. I'm not playing the game,
but if you have to lean it and give it
out here on the show, I'd lean Arizona and lay
the point.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
Well, I'm liking BYU in the points a little bit
opposite with you there, just simply because BYU has got
to prove they can win on the road. Okay, when
you do this cross conference type travel, it's a short
road for them, short road travel down from Salt Lake
down to Arizona. And when you got to look at
where Tucson is at right now, eleven and two at home.
Hard to play down there a lot of drama going

(23:52):
on down there. Eight and five against the spread at home.
So it gives me a little bit of opportunity to
take a look at the BYU team. It struggled a
little bit on the road money line and against the
spread at three and five, but seven points might be
a bit much. BYU also plays a decent enough offensive
game to keep you interested picking up a roughly a

(24:13):
seventy five points to sol a game. To look at
that total, and that total be in one fifty three,
you think we can get a slide over here, Go ahead,
Ronnie Gate.

Speaker 6 (24:22):
Well there with these two teams played a couple of
weeks ago in BYU and Arizona beat him eighty five
seventy four, so we were at one fifty nine and
Arizona took care of business on the road by eleven.
So I think that's why the oddsmakers have this where
it is, and I think Arizona matches up well with BU.

(24:42):
That's why I'm leaning towards the Arizona team here. But
the total, I'd probably go with the over on this.
Arizona's going to score probably more points than eighty five today,
So the overlooks tempty, right.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
The over looks pretty good in this game as well.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
Like I said, BYU tends to score the basketball a
little bit better. You got a team average in eighty
points a game, Arizona average in eighty one. If they
can stick with the averages here, I think we get
an over slight differentiation in the rebounding over to Arizona.
They get the rebounding edge, but the assist and the
points are roughly the same for these teams. So take
the over if you can't pick a side, And I

(25:18):
do like the dog while Ronnie Bee likes Arizona at
home even though he's not on the game. Let's move
along to another game. We've already finished our roll up list.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
If you will, just.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
Me and you talking some basketball now, taking a look
around the big board and seeing if there's any holes here.
Might as well talk about it because we got some time.
You don't got to give out a side if we
don't want to, but just some analysis. Illinois versus Duke,
You got the Duke Blue Devils the cream of the
crop of the ACC twenty three and three Cameron indoors
being run by the kids. Now Trezski is gone, but

(25:48):
his pedigree there. John Shire doing an excellent job keeping
Duke in that top five form number three right now.
Illinois last week there were a dog that was barking
and then the dog ended up with Flees a couple
of times. But the reality is they're still a good
basketball team at seventeen and ten, not ranked today.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
But this is a neutral sign of Madison Square Guard
in New York. When the lights are shining bright, dog
is always barking.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
I don't think Illinois wants to look bad today going
up against the potential number one pick from the United States,
if you will in a Cooper flag.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
But go ahead, Roddy D. Your thoughts on this game
should be a good one. At MSG.

Speaker 6 (26:22):
Yeah, you know it's I'm glad you pointed out that
it's at MSG here because I was looking at this
and did not realize that. And if it was going
to be a Duke, I say, boy with Illinois is
gonna get embarrassed. A different location. That gives it a
little more balanced. As far as the game, I believe
Illinois has been in a little bit of a slump.

(26:43):
They haven't been shooting the ball very well. You know,
they're on a four and six less ten games, so
they need to snap out. Maybe this big crowd in
New York, in the different atmosphere and going up against
a big name team might give them some adrenaline to
come out and play today. I think it should be
an entertaining game. Illinois comes out and can shoot the
ball a little better. If not, they could be very

(27:04):
embarrassing for Illinois today. Duke has a great team, great defense.
It's a couple freshmen on that team that are unbelievable
for their age. Unbelievable. So it's interesting. I can't play
the game. As you said, I'm not going to take
a side, but if Illinois shoots well, take the points.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
There you go talking about shooting well taking the points.
Duke has got to show that they're dominant. In my opinion,
if they do have these good freshmen the way they
should be, should be the number one team in the country.
You got Auburn twenty three and two, Florida twenty two
and three, Duke right there. So if Duke is able
to win today, we should be able to see these
guys move up. But let's take a look at another game.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Again.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
I'm just going around the big board here, Ronnie. You
know again, appreciate you guys listening to us out in
La Vegas, around the country. Carolina, I hate the rag
on him. I know, I know I got it because
I grew up a huge Tar Hills fan. Huge Tar
Hills fans still love the Tar Hills. I think it's
the greatest basketball program outside of UCLA.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
That America has ever produced.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
And I know you being in Indiana, guy is going
to be like, now, JB, here you go again.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
I knew it. I could.

Speaker 4 (28:11):
I could see you looking at the phone like he
knows what I just said about Bobby Knight Niel.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
But Carolina sixteen and eleven are they gonna dance this year?

Speaker 5 (28:19):
Just?

Speaker 4 (28:19):
I mean they're up against Virginia thirteen and thirteen team.
I'm not even going to take a look at it
from adult perspective for Virginia. They're not national champions anymore. Clearly,
you know that's kind of fallen off recruiting because after
the NIL came about. I mean, you don't have to
go to a necessarily big name program to being to
be seen. It's not even about being seen now, these

(28:41):
kids clearly just want to get paid.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
But Carolina here.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
Minus nine, but they average almost thirty more points a
game than Virginia total about sixty more points a game,
sixty four points for Virginia and then eighty points a
game for Carolina. So you talk about it from that perspective,
why are they only mine is nine? And are the
tar Heels going to make the tournament this year? Are
they going to end up in the NIT and maybe
decline the invitation because they're pedigree.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
They think they're too good for the n T.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
You know, I go, but do you think that they're
a real team here? I mean, at sixteen and eleven,
they're not her twenty wins yet.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
I'm not seeing it go ahead.

Speaker 6 (29:20):
Yeah, I'm going to agree with you. I think I
mentioned it last week when we talked about it. I
think coach Davis is gone after this year. And I
think Carolina does not make the Big Dance this year.
And I think the NIT, if they get an offer,
they may not even accept the offer, but we'll see.
I just don't think they have it this year. The mix,

(29:40):
the players don't look like they're playing for the coach.
They can't come out consistent, so Virginia could give them
a ballgame today. I mean, Virginia's coming off Duke and
I watched that first half and Virginia played very well.
They just got out manned in the second half of Duke.
That Duke home court is big. But I don't think
North Carolina has the talent this year. Like I said,

(30:00):
the coach I think will be changed.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Yeah, the coach.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
Man.

Speaker 4 (30:05):
You know, we see a lot of the coaches are
former players, and I think if Carolina really wants to
get back to their winning ways, they've got a guy
named Rashid Wallace, who, in my opinion, is one of
the best players ever to come through Carolina. I mean,
people don't realize that the nineties teams for Carolina produced
some of the greatest basketball players of their era, many

(30:29):
of them Hall of famers. I think they got to
bring in Rashid. Rashid Wallace, He's tough, he's a winner.
He played for all three of the coaches I think
I know he played for I think he might have
played for guth Ridge as an assistant, played for Dean Smith.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
You need a guy that can relate to the younger
gentlemen of this era. He's the perfect guy for it.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
I'm not even gonna waste too much more time Rashid
Wallace for head coach at UNC tar Heels even bring in,
you know, Vince Carter. Maybe Vince just retired, still probably
living his best life. But I listened to Rashid Wallace
on his podcast and the way he talks about basketball
and the way he understands basketball. I've watched some of
his training tapes and things that he puts out. He's

(31:13):
built for this college game, especially these kids making a
little bit of money. He'll be able to teach them
how to navigate that as well. But I'm just screaming
around the big board today looking at some of these
games here. Roddy Be, you got any thoughts, any games
that you want to throw out there, go ahead.

Speaker 6 (31:27):
I think I'm looking at the schedule here today, and
I know we like to tuck dogs and all this
good stuff. But what I'm looking at today these lines
are big numbers that your top ten fifteen teams as
got some some I think some easy games that they
can cover. So I'm leaning towards the favorites today. If
you're out there going to play some games, don't look
at the points don't be afraid of giving them out

(31:49):
because these favorites today, Auburn's giving up sixteen and a
half against the good Georgia team. That's a lot of points,
a lot.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Of points, long points.

Speaker 6 (31:58):
And you know you got we got Kansas given up
fifteen and a half against Oklahoma State. Well yeah, you
got Florida, Florida on the road giving up ten and
a half at LSU. So it's a day of big numbers.
But I think there's a reason there's big numbers, and
I'd lay the chalk today, no problem.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
He's looking at the chalk here when they talk about
some of these other teams. Here, let me take a
look at a team that really has been somewhat disappointing,
and when you talk about it from a college basketball perspective,
we way of expect.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
A little bit more.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
Let's talk about it Texas in South Carolina. Sixteen and
ten versus ten and sixteen. A little bit slight here,
a little bit slighter than one of those bigger spreads.
But these are two teams that were picked to finish
at least in the top half of their conference, bottom
half of the conference. Texas, do they get an NIT
bid this year. Are they rebuilding this program? And in
South Carolina basketball in trouble because they seem to be

(32:53):
leaning more towards the gridiron over the last couple of seasons.
You got two teams right now. Total end this game,
Ronnie shockingly again another low total one point thirty nine
and a half with Texas giving you one to forty
on the money line.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
You talk about a favorite. If you're an.

Speaker 4 (33:09):
Alumni game today and you want to maybe pick a
solid team that can give you some money here, do
you think Texas is a good bet over South Carolina?
Because I'm looking at these games and I see the
point differential with Texas average in seventy eight points a game,
South Carolina average and roughly sixty nine to seventy. But
the rebounds and the assist are the exact same thing.
So that just means who's hot, who's not, who's making
three throws, and who is shooting the bricks. I like

(33:32):
Texas on this side today minus the two and a
half or money line, but again they got to travel
out to Columbia, South Carolina all the way from Austin.
Your thoughts on this, just to give you some idea
of where you're seeing a lot of games because.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
I know you're seeing a lot of big spreads.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
I'm seeing a lot of losing records in five hundred teams,
a lot of parodies.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
And that's what you're going to continue to get.

Speaker 4 (33:50):
And you talked about it a couple of weeks ago,
But go ahead, Ronnie.

Speaker 6 (33:53):
Yeah, this game here, both you have both teams trending
in the wrong direction. They're trending in the wrong direction.
They're both heading out for the winner. Here, this is
South Carolina. Can't shoot the basketmat you know, they're forty
three percent field goal percentage ranks them about two hundred
and seventy three point field goals they rank above two

(34:13):
to eighty five. They can't shoot the ball, you can't.
The free throws are horrible. They keeps sixty nine percent
from the free throwing. If you can't put the ball
in the hoop, you're not going to beat many teams.
So this line of Texas, which again they're not playing
very well either with a sixteen and ten record, but
I think they're playing a little better than South Carolina.
So the one or two points that Texas is favored

(34:35):
on the road, I don't think the problem for him.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
I don't think it's a problem either.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
Again, you talk about South Carolina, there's a lid on
the basket for those kids.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
I haven't seen it. I haven't seen it.

Speaker 4 (34:44):
One thing I want to talk about, just side note here,
getting off of the big board for a little bit.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
I like the improvement of.

Speaker 4 (34:50):
Basketball in college going back to being like a team game.
They've gone back to setting picks, screen and rolls. I've
seen a few dunks, not many dunks traffic. I mean,
they're not as athletic and they don't play that way
like they used to in my era. But I've also
seen a cutback on the three point shooting.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
Which is great. No, don't boo. I mean, I know
there are people that don't like that, but I think
that's great.

Speaker 4 (35:13):
And when you talk about the NBA shout out by
may Man, Darryl Harris cbsa de Hoop University podcast was
on his show a couple of days ago. They're probably
still cutting an ediguet because I was dropping a lot
of grief. But the point I'm saying is if this
is the trend that we continue to see in college basketball,
it will have a marked effect on the pros. I
think it's going to be another one of these situations

(35:35):
where players are going to be coming in with that
type of style, with that type of pedigree, and that
type of coaching, and as coaches move up the ranks
from college into the pros, I think we're gonna see
that get away from the pro basketball a little bit.
Because the three point shooting we know has become a problem,
college seems to have fixed it very quickly this year.

(35:56):
I see a lot more drible drive, I see a
lot more kick, I see a lot more postgame. College
basketball is looking better than the league game, the league product.
What would you think?

Speaker 1 (36:06):
Go ahead?

Speaker 3 (36:06):
Right?

Speaker 6 (36:07):
Well, I agree with you one dred and ten percent
on this here, and I think a lot of it
has to do with this nil money. I think these
teams and colleges are spending the money and they want
product now. They don't want to just see flashing the pan,
running down the court and each seconds and throwing up
a forty footer, right, No, they don't want that. They
want basketball again. And I think that's what you said,
is this college game. I like what I'm seeing here.

(36:29):
I wish they'd eliminate the three point line to be
honest with you, JB and get back to old school basketball.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
I think it would be something good, you know, with
the prevalence of these digital floors that they play with
play the first half or the first three quarters of
the game. Because they're talking about maybe making men's college
basketball quarter divide it like the ladies college basketball is.
Could be a nice innovation. But if you do that,
make three pointers only available in the fourth quarter, I

(36:55):
think that'll add some of that video game tenacity that
this young generation likes, that win a prize mindset that
they have, because it will also create an opportunity for
a lot more players who are post players to get
opportunities because you know, you know, if I see one
more seven footer shooting threes, yeah, Lord, Winby got a

(37:19):
blood cloud shooting three shout out to Winby too.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
I'm not knocking him, but I mean, you know.

Speaker 4 (37:23):
If he was in the paint little drop staff, he
wouldn't have to worry about that shoulder getting a little
blood cloud on him because hes launching seventy.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
Threes, you know, but you get that a lot.

Speaker 4 (37:33):
Roddy and I talk to the young kids that are
coming up and they always tell me, you know, when
we get to college or when we go to the
pro camp, it's nothing like what we're used to playing.
And I said, I know it because in high school I.

Speaker 1 (37:47):
May do some dunks. I think I think the dunk
stops at high school now.

Speaker 4 (37:51):
And I know that sounds crazy to say that, but
I think that's I think that's the reality. I think
the dunk stops at high school. And another thing that
I think that stops at college is the post game,
any semblance of a postgame. You got Zach Edy, he
was doing well with the Memphis Grizzlies, and then they
start trying to move him out to the way. I'm like, oh,
here we go again. So your thoughts on that, you

(38:15):
know coming into this, and I say, with the in
an NBA draft coming up soon as well, this college tournament,
I don't see dominant teams. I don't see undefeated teams.
I see teams with under five losses. And then it
just slides down the rabbit hole going from there. When
you say it from that perspective, are we going to

(38:35):
be looking for a lot more dogs than these seedings?
Because I think that any team that makes the field
of sixty four, I think this is going to be
a true year of shirts and skins.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
All these kids are getting paid.

Speaker 4 (38:45):
Like you said, with nil transfer portal, you could be
looking at a team like Marquette number sixteen, nineteen and
six coming out of the Big East, not known for
basketball much more.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
But why are they number sixteen?

Speaker 4 (38:58):
Because they've got a five star lineup of paid players
who are playing good basketball in that conference. So I
wouldn't be afraid to take a look at a Marquette
to look at and bet Memphis, you got an NBA
player coach, and these guys in Penny Hardaway American Athletic
Conference number twenty two. They've fallen down a little bit,
but still in the era of paid play. Just like
you mentioned earlier, Ronnie Bee, is this going to be

(39:20):
the tournament where we see nail bider basketball, knowing that
you're basically own a contract year because we talk about
college football. Just on the side note, there's got about
fourteen thousand kids in that transfer portal, which essentially eliminates
high school recruiting for football, but for basketball here a
little bit more visual opportunities are bound to play professional

(39:44):
rather quickly. It's not like football with a restricted sport
and markets. Do you think that we're going to see
a tournament this year where it's gonna be shirts and skins.
It really doesn't matter who's like balling if you make
the tournament. Could this be the year?

Speaker 1 (39:57):
Because we've already seen a sixteen be to one right
like a couple of years ago. So are we going
to see more of that?

Speaker 4 (40:03):
And with that being said, if we see more of it,
are the sportsbook's going to be paying you off?

Speaker 1 (40:06):
Are they going to cut back a value?

Speaker 9 (40:07):
Go ahead, you well, I tell you what.

Speaker 6 (40:10):
I don't think the value is going to be there
with the dogs this tournament, as I just said earlier
here that today looks like a lopsided don't be afraid
of the big lines. I think the cream of the
crop here. You had a combination of about a dozen
of fifteen teams that are good, and the rest of
the fifty that are going to be in the tournament
are going to be near as talented as what you're

(40:30):
going to have. And I think this year you've got
to look at the coaching when the game goes back
to old school and away from the three point line.
And you know JB when we played you got to
pass the ball five, six, seven times, you got to.

Speaker 4 (40:41):
Pass the raw well le's hit the open man on
the cut.

Speaker 6 (40:45):
But yeah, exactly exactly. And if anybody watched that Michigan
State Michigan game last night, you had two seven footers
on Michigan and everybody's love of Michigan. But you're going
up against the coach Tom Izzo, that's the Hall of Famer.

Speaker 1 (40:57):
Putting grace on the ground. That's right.

Speaker 6 (40:59):
Yeah, in the second half yesterday, they came out after
the adjustments, passing the ball, making the cuts, making the
buns on the lafts on the shorter squad. So I
just think the coaching is going to be very important
this year in the tournament and the talent of the
overall guard play. We're going back to old school. If
you've got the guards, I think you've got the team

(41:22):
that's it.

Speaker 4 (41:22):
Spoken like a true ball or my ma amn, Ronnie
b class of two thousand BC at Indiana, I'm class
of fifteen hundred AD over at Offer in A, ZUSA Pacific.

Speaker 4 (44:59):
Hear me and Ronnie b getting ready to sign off,
had about five minutes or so coming back at you
with some of our better players of today. Iowa state.
I liked them as a dog, Ronnie Be. You liked
Houston on that one, didn't you? And I said, liked it?
I hate when I make those type of speech errors
live on the air.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
But you liked Houston, didn't you? Go ahead?

Speaker 6 (45:18):
I like the under a little bit on that game here.
I think both teams are defensive minded, so I like
the under on that game.

Speaker 4 (45:23):
Liking the under on the total of about one point
thirty here. Moving along to the other game here, we
had Clemson SMU.

Speaker 1 (45:30):
Tight spread here. I like the home dog.

Speaker 4 (45:32):
I know Clemson's got to travel. I don't know if
they can, but they're playing some good basketball. That's the
one we were split on. And then we talked a.

Speaker 1 (45:37):
Little bit about it.

Speaker 4 (45:38):
Kentucky versus Alabama. You said you're not worried about laying
those points with Kentucky, right, go ahead.

Speaker 6 (45:44):
Well, Bama's getting given the points. I like Bama.

Speaker 1 (45:46):
Okay, that's right, you like Bama. Man.

Speaker 4 (45:49):
I'm telling you, I'm looking at this thing here and
I'm saying, eh, you know, eleven points. That's the question
I have here When you look at where Alabama is
and they've been playing some decent basketball. I'm glad we
went back to this game they've lost to in a row.
I mean, yeah, I don't know. Well, no, why do
you think that is Ronnie Bee. What seems to be
the issue here with Alabama. Were they just smelling themselves

(46:11):
too much at the top of the mountain?

Speaker 6 (46:12):
Top go ahead, No, I think what's happening here. You're
getting into a long season, you know, starting back in October,
so these legs are getting tired. I think the rotation
has to be there. That's why I said this game today.
Butler is out for Kentucky, that's been their downfall. The
guard play Sears is out today for Alabama. The guard

(46:34):
is going to be a problem too, but I think
he'll play. And that's why again I'm looking at the
schedule as like you just said, so we want to
give out some information. And I talked about the cream
rising to the top. I think what you're looking at
today the top five teams with Auburn, Bama, Florida, Duke
of Houston. I think they all cover the spreads. They're
the top five in the nation. Four of them are
at home playing and I think they come out strong today.

(46:57):
So it's that time of year, JB. Next week is March.

Speaker 4 (47:00):
Here, that's right, it is here, and we are here
at that point where we're going to give you our
best plays of the day, Ronnie B.

Speaker 1 (47:06):
Thank you so much for your contributions this morning.

Speaker 4 (47:09):
Coming on the show here Ronnie Bee, co host and
PSS contributor, been with Vegascoreboard Express a long time. Want
to appreciate you for all your contributions, my friends. Shout
out to all the guys that've been coming on. John Ryan,
Rudy Rays, I know he's got some issues, hoping he's
rocking and rolling with us, Jake Poppy, rest of the crew,
everybody who's been rolling with us for college basketball. After
college basketball, we're going on a hiatus.

Speaker 1 (47:32):
That's right, guys. We're taking the rest of the spring
and most of the summer off.

Speaker 4 (47:36):
We're going to be coming back with a few specials
for you, NFL Draft, NBA Draft, but we're prepping for
a big football season here. As you know, we're the
home of the USC Trojans and the LA Rams, So
got to get those sponsorships up and gotta get the
new show ready to go forward the live stream. But nevertheless,
college Basketball Saturday, it's a rap, Ronnie B. What's some
of your best players of the day, and then we'll

(47:57):
go ahead and get out of here.

Speaker 1 (47:58):
Greeci's time to get dropped. Go ahead.

Speaker 6 (48:00):
Well, like I said, I'd take a look at the
top five playing them, but my best best will big
Clemson getting a point and a half or two on
the road here. I think they're in a nice role
and I'm gonta stick with I watched them play. They
playing some good basketball.

Speaker 4 (48:13):
They got Liking Clemson, I'm gonna stick with the guys
down at BYU. I think they can get inside of
that spread and plus eight. If you buy it the
plus ten, it should be good. Arizona's a tough team,
but these are two evenly matched teams. So that's going
to be a battle down in the Southwest. So tomorrow
will be back some more college basketball, might talk a
little bit more hoops NBA. Hopefully we can bring on

(48:34):
some folks like O Maine Man Darryl Harris. But nevertheless,
I'm your host and boss of the Big Board. JB
the ticket and that's a wrapedout. So thank you so
much for letting me your ears this morning here in
Las Vegas.

Speaker 1 (48:45):
You know what time it is.

Speaker 4 (48:46):
Ronnie, Time to go over to the book and do
what Get the money?

Speaker 6 (48:50):
Get the money.

Speaker 2 (48:54):
They're listening to the boss of the Big Ball Jack
Vegas Scoreboard Express.

Speaker 5 (49:06):
