that the remainder of this week will continue to be

(01:01):
blessed for you as well.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Here were we.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Are aiming to honor your service to the nation, tell
you of God's love and salvation, give you information that
you can use rather a veteran, active duty reservist, first responder,
or family member of someone wearing dress white, greens, or blues.
And so thank you and Welcome to today's podcast. Today

(01:26):
we're gonna be talking about something that's really important for
veterans who are filing for disability claims, and we're gonna
talk about what you expect and what does a c
n P exam, a compensation and pension exam, consist of.
But before we get into that, as always, i'd love

(01:47):
to give you the word of God prior to going
into those particular dynamics of the v A of the
v A drama some times, and so we're going today,
We're going to before we get into that, we're gonna
go into a word of prayer because we know that,

(02:10):
as I always feel on this podcast, prayer is our
best weapon against the enemy. And if you want to
defeat the enemy and know that you are able to stand,
we need to be able to pray. Prayer is our
communication with God. And sometimes the enemy he throws so

(02:31):
many things your way, and he wants to get you discouraged,
he wants to keep you from praying. But we know that,
as with any soldier, if you go without your weapon
into the battlefield, you will not be able to win.
And so therefore we must use our weapon of prayer.
So this morning whatever it is that you may be

(02:52):
going through this morning, let us just open up this
morning with a word of prayer.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Only.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Father God, we thank you Lord for allowing us to
come before your presence this morning.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Lord.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
We thank you Lord for all the things you have
done for us, all the things you are doing for us.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Lord.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
We ask Lord that you will forgive us for all
our sins. We ask that you will cleanse us from
all unrighteousness.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Lord.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Lord, we ask Lord that you will help us. Lord
and I walk with you. Lord, that we will walk
like you, talk like you, act like you think as
you will have us to.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Lord, in accordance with your word.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Lord, we ask right now, in the name of Jesus, Lord,
that you will be with every veteran right now, Lord,
every first responder, every active duly service member, every reservist.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Lord.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
We ask, regardless of what brands of the service that
they have or are serving, that you would be with them.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Lord.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
We pray for their family members right now, Lord, those
that are separated from their loved ones due to deployment
and other issues. Lord, we ask Lord that you will
be with them, guide them, Lord, and deliver them from
any anything that comes against them. Lord, we know that
no weapon formed against us will prosper. We pray for
those who have not received you as their lord and savior. Lord,

(04:12):
that even those that are serving in the military, Lord,
that they will turn their hearts to you.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Lord.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
We pray for the chaplains, Lord, who are ministering to
your people. Lord, those that are honoring you by their service. Lord,
we ask that you will be with them, guide them, Lord,
and give them wisdom, knowledge and understanding into the things
of you.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Lord. We just thank you, Lord for all that you're doing. Lord.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
We thank you for the information that you give to us, Lord,
and we ask Lord that we will be able to
use it with your wisdom.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Lord.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
We just honor you today, Lord, and we pray for
everyone Lord right now in the name of Jesus, we
ask that you will help us to endure it to
the very end.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
We ask all.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
These things and your son's name, Jesus, You're sure Hammashid,
Thank God, Amen Man. I pray that you all are
having a blessed and wonderful week so far, and that
the remainder of this week will continue to be blessed
for you as well. We're having today's podcast and then

that first Thursday, because the new year begins on Wednesday,
I believe Wednesday in January, and so we're gonna have

(05:43):
first Thursday of the new year, and that will be
on actually it'll be on January the second, the second.

Speaker 4 (05:53):

Our Saturday Morning prayers every Saturday at six am Eastern
Standard time five am Central, and we look forward to
you joining us on there. Oh one more thing, Christmas Eve.
Christmas Eve, I have actually been asking for submissions and
for people to do just rather it's a thirty second

(06:54):
to a two minute clip of them singing because Christmas
Eve or it is finished in times ministries, we're having
a sing that tune and different people are submitting their videos,
their clips of them singing. Rather, it's a Christian song,
a Christmas song, a Christmas curl, whatever fills your heart,
and we're going to it's just for fun and we're

(07:16):
just looking forward to that and that's gonna be aired
on Christmas Eve. So if you want to submit something,
please submit it to evangelist ko Rich at yahoo dot com.
That's evangelist E V A N G. E l I
S T K l Rich at yahoo dot com. And
I'll be happy to air it on the Christmas Eve

(07:40):
podcast for it is finished. So that's gonna be that
that Tuesday, actually, yeah, because Christmas Eve is on a Tuesday.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
All right.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
So we today we are going be first before we
talk about the c n P exams. We're going into
the Word of God, the Word of God.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
And one thing.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
When the children of Israel left Egypt, when God delivered
them from Egypt, God gave them rules and regulations that
they had to abide by, and they were rules and
accordance to the way he wanted them to live, the
way he wanted them to be towards one another, and

(08:23):
the way that they were to be.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
To him in reverence to him.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Now we know oftentimes Israel fell away from the path,
and they were judged, and they encountered a lot of
hardships on themselves because of their disobedience. But in the
Viticus chapter fourteen, the Vinicus chapter fourteen, the when there

(08:48):
was an issue with regards to medical certain types of
medical issues such as skin diseases, for example, they had
to go present themselves to the So if there was
a question of some type of skin disease and other things,
they had to go to the priest or the priests
could examine them. It's just like today when we go

(09:11):
to the doctor and we're gonna talk about the CEE
and p exams. Later, you have to go for an
exam in order for them to check you out, to
see you know, or to validate what you may or may.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Not have, and so on.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Levinica's chapter fourteen, verses one, it reads the Lord said
to Moses, there are regulations for any disease person at
the time of their ceremonial cleansing. When they are brought
to the priest, the priest is to go outside the
camp and examine them if they have been healed or
their defiling skin disease. The priest shall ordered that two

(09:48):
live clean birds and some cedar, would scarlet yarn and
hiss up be brought for the person. I'm sorry, that
was scarlet yam to be brought for the person to
be clansed. Then the pre show order that one of
the birds be killed over fresh water in a clay pot.

(10:08):
He is then to take the live bird and dip it,
together with the cedar wood, the scarlet yam, and the
hissop into the blood of the bird that was dipped
over the fresh water. Seven times. He shall sprinkle the
one to be cleansed of the defiling disease and then
pronounce them clean. After that, he is to release the

(10:29):
live bird into the open fields. So let me just
stop right there.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
So there.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
Whenever someone got a skin disease, and you will often
see the skin disease as name leoprosy. Now leprosy, according
to biblical scholars, was not the only skin disease, but
it was normally used as a general term for any
type of skin disease that someone may have had. However,

(10:56):
when we talk about actual leprosy, we talk about it
a discoloration of the skin, your fingers falling off, things
of that nature. So when whenever someone had gotten a
skin disease, uh they no one was allowed to be
in contact with them or they would be considered unclean

(11:17):
as well. So if you if you think about the
story of the ten leopards that were healed by Jesus,
those lepers, Jesus told them to go present themselves to
the priests after he had healed them, because only the
priests at that time was able to declare someone as clean. Now,
whenever these lepers came around a population which they were

(11:39):
considered outsiders, so they had to live outside of the
camp of Israel. They had to if they came in
contact with someone, they had to say unclean, unclean, unclean,
And that was a way of warning that the people
that they had to get away from them, because if
they touched them then they would be considered unclean for

(12:00):
a certain period of time. And so there was when
when whenever they had to be examined, then the priests
had to do a ritual with uh with the birds,
and as we know, the scarlet yam and the water,
and so therefore they had to do this over a clay.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
Pot and use his up.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Now, aren't you glad that we don't have to do
all these things anymore? Can you imagine having that every everything,
whether women's monthly or or some type of infection or
we had, we would have to go to a priest
and have to do these things. Isn't it wonderful that
we we could just be grateful for the work that

(12:46):
Jesus did on the cross for our sins. In verse eight,
it says the person to be cleans must wash their clothes,
shave off all their hair, and bathe with water. Then
they will be ceremonial ceremonially clean. After this they may
come into the camp, but they must stay outside their
tent for seven days. On the seventh day, they must

(13:07):
shave off all their hair. They must shave their head,
their beard, their eyebrows, and the rest of their hair.
They must wash their clothes and bathe themselves with with water,
and they will be clean. And we're gonna stop right there.
So there's a there was a lot of uh w.
When it came to them being clean. It was more
than them just being able to say, Okay, you don't

(13:30):
have it anymore. They had to shave their hair, you know,
just their eyebrows, their beard u uh. They had to
stay outside their tent even for seven days after that.
So it was ah ah ah a long process to
be uh considered totally clean. However, as I mentioned before,

(13:50):
we wanna just thank God that we can just go
to God in prayer because we all would be unclean
when it if it was not, if it was not
Jesus coming and dying for our sins, we all have sinned.
The Bible says that we all have sinned and fallen
short of the glory of God. But the thing is

(14:10):
is that regardless of whatever you've done, and rather you
celebrate Christmas or rather you don't, we always want to
remember that that is the reason that Jesus came was
for our sins. It wasn't about a Christmas tree, it
wasn't about going up a chimney or any of those things.
Jesus came so that we may have life and have

(14:32):
it more abundantly because where we were unclean, Jesus' blood
makes us clean. We're gonna take a quick break and
we'll be back in just a moment.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Miss, I'm going to get to know.

Speaker 3 (14:59):

Speaker 2 (17:49):

Speaker 5 (17:54):
Hes w.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
And that is this Christmas? By Chris Brown. All right,
so we are today talking about CNP exams and if
you have fouled for.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Veteran VA disability and whatever the issue is, rather it's
what you call it tentonitis. I think if I'm pronouncing
that right, which that's the ringing of the ear, or
rather it's something even more serious. We normally the VA
is going to send you to a CNP exam.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
Now this is not in.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
All cases, but the majority of the cases you're normally
going to have to go for a veteran CNP exam,
which CNP stands for a compensation and pension. But most
of the time people just say CNP exam.

Speaker 4 (18:51):
So you may be.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Asked to go and you will have some normally some
questions that's going to be asking you which which which
is going to be asked of you?

Speaker 4 (19:02):
Which your called dB Q.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
So these are when you if you hear the term
dB Q, those are questions that your examiner is going
to ask or uh. Sometimes veterans will go online print
out the DBQ that's going to be for their particular issue.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
They take it to their private exam, private private.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
Doctor, and the doctor sometimes will fill it out and
then you send submitted to the v A. That does
not always mean that you're not gonna have a c
n P exam, but sometimes veterans do that too. But
most of the time you're going to be required to
go to a c n P exam. Let me just
say this first and foremost. If the V a UH

(19:45):
sends you information or cause you contacts you to go
to a C n P exam, I highly recommend that
you don't miss it and that you do go. Oftentimes,
if you if you do not go to a C
and P exam, more or likely they're not. The VA
radar will sometimes oftentimes deny your claim because you did

(20:09):
not go to a C and P exam. Now this
is not all the time. Okay, we're not saying everything's
one hundred percent, but a lot of times.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
They will do that.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
So why might I need to go to a CAP exam? Well,
the exam will help the VA to determine if you
have a service connected issue a service connected disability. It
also helps the VA to rate your disability if you
have one. So the VA they based their ratings on
howe how severe your disability is, and your rating will

(20:41):
affect how much disability compensation you will receive. Compensation may
include things like monthly payments and or enrollment in a
VA health program. Now, your your disability rating can be
from zero to one hundred percent. Now, some people say, well,

(21:01):
why would the VA rate you at a zero? Well,
and does the zero give you anything? Well, the zero
if you're rated if it's safe. For instance, you go
to the VA and you go for high pertension and
you are rated a zero for high pertension, well you
will not get any money. But if they rate you
a zero, they are acknowledging that it is service connected. Okay,

(21:26):
So that's the main thing is making sure that you
get whatever it is. If it's do you that it
is service connected. Now you start getting monthly or you
start getting payments once it hits the ten percent, okay,
a total of whatever your disabilities are, if they're at
ten percent or higher, then that's when you start getting

(21:48):
a monthly compensation with that. At a zero percent, you don't,
but it is the VA acknowledging that it is service connected. However,
don't fret if it comes to a zero percent, because
at least the VA is acknowledging that it is service connected. Now,
the thing is you can go for an increases should

(22:09):
that be determined that you qualify for an increase once
you have been deemed that is service connected. So does
everyone who files a claim need to have a c
A VA uh? Uh CNP exam No. As we said before,
uh they will have you do an exam only if

(22:32):
they need more information.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
If you have enough medical evidence in your file to
support your claim, they will follow the Acceptable Clinical Evidence
also known as ACE process. This means that they'll review
your medical records and ask you to submit more evidence
if needed, instead of asking you to go to an exam.
Medical evidence includes a doctor or hospital report, te excuse me,

(22:59):
test X rays, and other documents. Now, I'm just gonna
say this, so don't get your hopes up. Oh I'm
not gonna have to go to a c a P
exam because I've sent them all this information. More likely
than not, you're still gonna have to go to a
CNP exam. I'm just gonna be frank with you. You know,
you can send them tons of information, but more likely

(23:21):
than not, they're still gonna have you go to a
CNP exam.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
Now, let me just say this. They help you all
out a little bit.

Speaker 3 (23:27):
If you are filing for disability compensation or compensation and pension.
If you're sending in your medical records, please do not
submit your whole medical record you want to go in there,
even if you gotta go to a VSO to help you.
If you get a quality one, okay, because not everyone

(23:47):
is worth their salt. I can tell you that from
personal experience. Okay, but if you if you go, you
need to go through your medical record and whatever pertains
to whatever issue they that you are claiming, take it out,
make copies of it, submit that to the VA. If
you think that you're gonna send in a five hundred

(24:08):
page medical record and the VA raider is gonna go
through every single page and you're going for just an
issue like hypertension, but you you're gonna send in the
whole medical record.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
They're not gonna go through it.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
They're not gonna. I'm just gonna let you know they're
not gonna do it, Okay, so don't don't. Don't do
that to yourself or to them, because they're not gonna
do it. You want to go in there and find
the dates and find what was relevant in your in
your personal statement. If you submit a personal statement, which
I highly recommend you do, go in and make sure

(24:40):
that you document everything whatever page is that you submitted.
Highlight things so they can have a better view. So
I even have taken a highlighter where they can actually see. Okay,
this I went to the doctor on this particular date.
The doctor said this, and take out those go through
your medical re whether fine tooth comb, get out everything.

(25:03):
Whatever you're going for with the VA. For whatever you're
trying to claim, go in or find it in your
medical record and then submit it to the VA. That
helps to save time and also possibly a denial in
case you get someone that is not going to go
through the entire medical record.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
All Right, it is what it is. I'm just letting
you know.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
I'm not saying that they're not supposed to, but I'm
just telling you this is that you want to do
the work yourself, and you have to be your own
best advocate. Okay, believe me, you have to be your
own best advocate. That means you have to stay on
top of things. And even if you think you have
a good VSO veteran service officer that's helping you, rather

(25:49):
you go on the Disability for American what is it,
DAV Disabled American vets or whoever your representative is, you
still need to stay on top of things, be your
own best advocate. Don't leave to chance that someone is
gonna be in your corner working it for you. Now,

(26:09):
if you got an attorney. That's what they get paid for.

Speaker 4 (26:13):
But if you're doing this with a.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
Veteran service officer, keep in mind that they're gonna get
paid regardless of if you get.

Speaker 4 (26:21):
Your claim or not. Therefore, be your own best advocate.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
All right, So, well, I need more than one VA
exam VA claim exam.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
You may need more than.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
One in these situations. For example, if you submit a
claim with more than one condition, you may need more
than one exam. So they'll try to schedule your exam
in one day, but it doesn't always happen. So if
you have multiple issues. If you have, for example, you
go you have some muscular issues dealing with your joints,

(26:56):
whether it's you might be dealing with a corporate time
on them, or you might be dealing with some spine.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
Issues, some hip issues.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
Well there's a high chance that they might have a
lot of those issues in one exam, but then it
may not okay, so they may schedule for a different
exam with a different examiner. The VA uses normally excuse me,
the VA normally uses three different companies. They've outsourced most
of their CNP examiners to Optimum VEZZ Veteran Evaluation Service Services,

(27:34):
and it's it's Optimum Veteran Evaluation Services.

Speaker 4 (27:38):
And it's one more I think it's called o OP
them Serve or something like that.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
So it's three main ones that they normally use for
for outsource in these CNP exams.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Okay, for some conditions, you may need a follow up exam.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
So you may have gone to an exam and the
VA say, well, the doctor didn't not specify, or the
doctor was not clear, or we need more clarification. Now,
this is what happens. Sometimes they'll send you to another
exam if they need some more clarity, or they may
send the doctor notice to the doctor to say we

(28:16):
need you to clarify. So you may get something in
the mail or text or costs and that oh, well
we're gonna we need clarification. Speaking of the VA, they
need clarification. But this is an appointment that you do
not have to show up for, but we're sending we're
letting you know that we're sending this information to the

(28:37):
doctor because we need them to clarify. Okay, So that
happens quite frequently. Now there are some examiners that they
know what the VA needs and wants, and so they
try to make sure. So if they don't have your
CNP exam back that same day, don't fret because if
it depends upon the complexity of your case, they want

(28:58):
to make sure that they get everything right before they
submit it to the VA. So the VA will not
have to send anything back to them saying, oh, well,
you did not say this or you did not clarify that.
If you request a decision review of your claim decision,
they may send you for another exam.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
So if you request.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
A decision based upon you feeling like something was wrong
with that exam. And let me just say this, if
you go to a C and P exam and you
feel that that person did not give you a quality exam,
make sure to let the VA know right away, all right.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
I know.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
This is another thing they do is they send you
surveys now to rate that examiner, to rate your experience
with that examiner, and they do pay attention to those
to those surveys. So make sure to fill out those
surveys rather good or bad, so that it helps.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
Other veterans too.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
When they're going into a doctor the c with how's
the doctor been rated before?

Speaker 4 (30:03):
In everything? So that is so important.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
How will they schedule YOURCNP exam. Well, one thing they
would do is they will contact you via letter with
the date and time of your exam. They will also
oftentimes call you or email you from the contractor who
is scheduling your exam. For example, if you are being

(30:27):
scheduled through VEES Veteran Evaluation Services, Veteran Evaluation Services will
normally call you.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
They will also send you a leather in the mail.
They would say that they will try to get you
can let.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Them know that I want to go someone as close
as as possible, and they would do their best. They'll
try to schedule you for someone that is closer to you.
They try to schedule it within a certain timeframe and
only within thirty days or so I say normally, and
they will try to get see what days you are
available for your exams. Now, I have to make sure

(31:02):
to tell you this once again is do not miss
the exam. Even you feel like I don't need it.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
Do not miss the exam. That is so important. If
you need to reschedule, reschedule now.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
I have heard of veterans that have gone to an
exam and the doctor was not there. I've seen this
happen where veterans have reported that, oh I went and
I showed up for my exam and the doctor was
a no show. It happens, okay, if that happens to you,

(31:39):
if you're there, take a picture of the facility normally
your picture, have a time and stamp on it. I
would call the VA before I even leave. Call the
one eight hundred number, Call that contractor let them know
I'm sitting in the parking lot, I'm sending in the
office and the doctor has not shown up, so that

(32:00):
they will know that it was not on you. So
the doctor can't say, oh, I was there. No, you aren't, okay,
So you want to make sure that you have your
evidence to cover yourself, and then they can't schedule schedule
you with someone else. Another thing, if you had a
bad exam with a particular a provider and you wind

(32:22):
up filing maybe another claim with something, they send you
back to that saying. If they try to send you
back to that same provider, you can request that they
send you to someone else, let them know that you
did not have a good exam with the person the
first time. And if you're following another claim and they
happen to send you back to that same providers. Make

(32:43):
sure make sure to let them know to send you
to someone else. What if I need to change the
day of your exam, So if you need to change
the day of your exam, you need to let them
know forty eight hours in advance. I believe they will
reschedule you.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
One time.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
You need to let them know that something happened and
let them know in advance so that they can reschedule you.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
I'm looking online and I'm saying that, yes, they have
several different ones that they're using. Of them Serve Veteran
Evaluation Services, LEADOS, l E, I, d O, s QTc,
and Loyal Source Government Services. So they've had some different
ones that I didn't know about that are available to you.

(33:37):
And you can go to VA dot gov slash disability
forward slash disability and get this information. Okay, So what
to expect when you go for your service exam? Well,
when you're going for your service exam, they let they
tell you that you don't need to bring anything to
your exam.

Speaker 4 (33:59):
However, I disagree with that for some cases.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
Yes, but if you have your medical records with you,
I would make sure that you've sorted through them. I
would recommend, I would highly recommend that you take it
with you, even if they wind up not using it,
It's better to take it with you because all the
time there's times when the VA has not sent all
the information to that examiner, okay, And so from personal experience,

(34:29):
I would recommend that you take your records with you.
Whatever you know that they're checking you for. Make sure
you've done your due diligence to know where things are
at so you can say, you know what, you don't
have it here, I have it, and those examiners normally
appreciate that, Okay, I've had this happen.

Speaker 4 (34:49):
They didn't have something. I had it with me. I
was able to, you know, take it there.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
Also, make sure that you take a list of your medications. Normally,
the VA has a list that you can either print
out or if you have the papers from your medications
that they give you, then take that with you so
that the examiner can know, Okay, I'm on X, Y
and Z, this is what they give me. I have
to take it three times a day, or whatever the

(35:16):
case may be. Do what you can to help your
own case. Don't let them say, oh, you don't need
to go with no medical records. Please take it. It
doesn't hurt.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
Take it, take whatever medications.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
Take it.

Speaker 4 (35:29):
You just never know.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
Some examiners they won't need it, okay. But those if
they have not gotten all the information from the VA
and they say, well, the VA did not send me this,
or there's a doctor, when did you go to this doctor?
I don't see it in the file. Have that evidence
with you.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
You will be better for it. It helps your case,
all right.

Speaker 3 (35:53):
Another thing is make sure if you have a vso,
make sure that they've sent in your your medical records.
Okay I'm talking about because some vsos will they they're lazy.
I'm just gonna be frank. Some vsos do not want
to do their job. They're just there to collect the check.
They don't want to do their job, all right. So

(36:14):
what I have done in the past is I have
since submitted to the VA my own record, okay, and
therefore I don't trust the Vso, okay, I'm telling you
from personal experience, always follow up, follow behind, call the
one eight hundred number to see did they submit your record?

Speaker 4 (36:36):
All right? You want to make sure better.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
Yet, if you can do it yourself, there's an option online.
That's called quick Submit, and you can submit your own
fouls yourself, all right. So if you if you know
you got one of them vsos, that's kind of lazy,
don't want to do anything. Do you do it yourself.
Be your own best best advocate. You can also go

(37:00):
to a quick copy place or whatever, have them facts, whatever,
if you have fax machine at home or whatever. Make
sure that the VA gets your medical records. Don't wait
for someone to do everything for you. And if they
are doing whatever, make sure the double check behind them. Okay,
because not all vsos are equal. You have some that

(37:24):
are good, and they are really for the veteran.

Speaker 4 (37:26):
I have been blessed to have those, and then I
have had some where I'm like what in the world.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
And I had to wind up doing things myself, okay,
which hey just made me better for the more knowledgeable, okay,
So make sure that you check and be your own
best advocate. How long would the exam take It depens.
Some exams maybe fifteen minutes, Some may be an hour

(37:52):
or more. It depends on what you're going for. If
you are going, for example, a mental health issue, it
may take some time, okay, because they have to ask
you questions they have to dive into, you know, with you.
For example, if you go on for PTSD, you may
have to talk to them about the things that happen
that led to you possibly getting that. Okay, if you

(38:14):
are going for some different issues health wise, it could
be something as simple as fifteen minutes if it's one issue,
and they can check check and then they're out. You
out of there, or you may be in there longer. Now,
I would recommend this. There are tons of information on YouTube.
Whatever you're going for, watch a video, okay. Be also

(38:37):
become familiar with the DBQs that they may ask you.

Speaker 4 (38:41):
These are the questions.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
You can print them out online, go online, do your
research YouTube.

Speaker 4 (38:47):
There's a lot of information that you can get.

Speaker 3 (38:53):
There's a couple of veterans that do that give a
lot of of good information on YouTube, and I'm trying
to I'm trying to pull up some of that information
right their names right now, because I would like for

(39:13):
you to check it out if you can. Va Okay,
veteran I think his name Veteran Craig, if I'm right,
I'm trying to see here right now. I'm going online
to see Va Craig. I think his name is Craig
if I recall, Okay, his name is comeback, Craig, Comeback,

(39:36):
Craig that see on m B a T comeback and Craig.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
He gives a lot of good information. Also, there's another
man on here.

Speaker 3 (39:50):
Let me check him out VA information and he gives
a lot of good as he used to be a
VA raider. His name is how do I forget his name?

Speaker 4 (40:07):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (40:08):
His name is?

Speaker 4 (40:11):
Okay, I can't find his name. Okay. I don't know
why I am subscribed to him, so I don't know
why I can't find it. Okay, Okay.

Speaker 5 (40:21):
His name is.

Speaker 3 (40:24):
K m D eight nine, Dwayne Kimball k m D
eight nine or type in Dwayne Kimball VA. And he's
a VA Claims consultant. He used to work for the
VA as a veteran rating specialist and so he can

(40:44):
give you the ins and outs. He also has a
book out, maybe one or two books out that talks
about VAS success VA claims success. So he is another
one that's very very knowledgeable. And this is on YouTube
KMD eighty nine or Dwayne Kimbo VA Claims Consulting, And

(41:05):
I would highly recommend that you check him out because
he has a plethora of information that he can give you.
You can check out his videos on there and purchase
his book or books. It might be one or two books,
I know, definitely one that you can get to get
a lot of information regarding the claims that you're going through. Okay,

(41:29):
so what happens after you have been to the CNP
exam and well, basically what happens after that is you
is a hurry up and wait. Okay, hiry up and wait.
So the doctor will after they finished the evaluation and
they will do their report, they will say more likely

(41:53):
than not service connected blah blah blah. They send it
back to their contracting agency, Ready's QTc or whoever. Then
they will submit it back to the VA. Then whenever
it gets to a radar Okay, well, the time frame
you know what, I'm gonna just say this, when it

(42:15):
comes to the VA, it is it could be a
couple of weeks or it could be some months, maybe
even a year or more, depending upon what your issue is.
They are not the fastest day right now, they're saying
that they're backlog so you can be waiting and waiting

(42:35):
and waiting.

Speaker 4 (42:36):
Okay, that's that's just the reality of it.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
So one thing a lot of veterans want to know
is can I get a copy of the CNP exam? Well,
I believe after a month or so, you can file
a Freedom of Information Act. Okay, that's VA Form twenty
dash ten two O six VA Form twenty Dash ten

(43:01):
two o six and you can submit it online or
by mail or in person to your nearest VA regional office.

Speaker 4 (43:12):
All right, So you can go online and get this information.

Speaker 2 (43:16):
You go to.

Speaker 4 (43:19):
I believe you go to VA dot gov to submit
it online.

Speaker 3 (43:22):
You can also get these forms and print it from
VA dot gov as well, and then you can mail
it to the Department of Veteran Affairs Evidence Intake Center,
PO Box four four four four, Jamesville, Wisconsin.

Speaker 4 (43:38):
That's five three five four seven dash four four four four,
or take it to your nearest VA regional office. All right.

Speaker 3 (43:51):
Well, this is just a brief overview when it comes
to CNP exams. Well, one thing I would recommend is
before you go to a CNP exam, know what to
expect when it comes to your particular issue or issues
that you are going for. That means familiarize your familiarize
yourself with the questions that they're going to ask. That

(44:12):
means go online if you find a DBQ for whatever
your issue, so you can know what questions.

Speaker 4 (44:18):
They're gonna ask. And most importantly, be honest. Be honest,
and when.

Speaker 3 (44:24):
You go for your CNP exam, tell them the issues
that you're having. Tell them you know what what you know,
what challenges you face on a daily basis, Tell them
you know the when you know when things started, how
it affects your everyday life, your your job performance, maybe

(44:46):
your social life, your your work at your work history,
or how it affects.

Speaker 4 (44:53):
You on the job or whatever.

Speaker 3 (44:55):
Be honest and tell them everything you know. Don't leave
anything out. And one thing is you may want to
write it down before you get their bullet points so
that you won't forget these things, because this is your
one time to make your case okay with that particular examiner,
in addition to the medical evidence that you present, and

(45:19):
you're the one and at the end, you're the one
that's gonna have to be that's gonna be actually receiving
or not receiving whatever you are trying to get, So
you have to be your own best advocate, all right,
we are about it here. I predit today's podcast has
