Doctor and Navy veteran k l Rich, we pray that
every battle in your spiritual, personal, and physical life is
one as we follow. Christ was our commanding officer in
this field called life. Whether you are here for spiritual encouragement,
information on veteran benefits, PTSD, suicide prevention, or want to
know the latest military news, we are.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Here to serve you. Now. Here is your host, doctor
k l Rich.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Hi, and thanks for tuning in today. This is doctor
and Navy veteran k l Rich. We thank you for
tuning in today on this October the twenty second, twenty
twenty four Tuesday. I pray that your day is blessed
as always and that you will continue to be blessed
(01:01):
throughout the rest of this week, throughout the rest of
this month, and the rest of this year. Thanks again
for tuning in. I pray that you all have had
a blessed and again wonderful weekend as well as whether
you're in the veteran status where you're no longer serving
(01:22):
officially as a military and military personnel or if you
in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, reservists, if you
are a coastguard, whatever branch you may be in, we
are thankful for your service. Also for those who have
(01:43):
are presently serving as first responders, we want to thank you.
Rather you're a firefighter, or if you're the paramedic that's
on the scene, the doctors and nurses that serving the
er and and different places. If you are a volunteer,
we want to just thank you as well. And also
(02:05):
to the families of those who are family members of
those who are serving and have present or have served,
we want to just thank you as well well. Today
I want to talk about or go to the text,
(02:25):
but before we go to the Word of God, right now,
I want to open up with a word of prayer,
because we know that prayer is the best weapon that
we have against the enemy, and we should always be
at a state of prayer and a posture of prayer,
(02:46):
and prayer is so important in our lives today. One
thing the enemy tries to do is he tries to
keep us from praying. He figures that if he could
keep us off our knees, then we will be weak
and we will without prayer we will be weak and
that plays into the enemy's camp. Just recently, there was
(03:09):
a rally at political leaders for office and someone has
spoke about Jesus and the person the person said that
this is the wrong rally. Well, guess what. We're always
to rally for Jesus and we're to stand for him
(03:32):
because even though you may be a veteran and may
not be serving on active duty, guess what, You're still
serving in the Lord's Army. It's not about rather you
were Navy, Air Force, Marines or whatever the case may be,
Coast Guard, whatever, but we want to know that we're
still serving in the Lord's Army. That's right, and he
(03:54):
has a lot of work for us to do. You
might say, well, I've transitioned out of the military and
I really don't know what to do right now, or
I'm about to transition out of the military. Well, guess
what as your commanding officer. That's Jesus. Come on, now,
that is Jesus, and he is always leading and guiding
(04:15):
us through the power of the Holy Spirit to give
us wisdom, knowledge and understanding. And so this morning, I
just wanna just open us up with a word of prayer.
And whatever situation you may be facing right now, whatever
battles you may be dealing with, guess what they're already one.
You just gotta claim it that it's already won in
(04:37):
the name of Jesus, because one thing we know is
that Jesus never loses a battle. Guess what he is
already He has already won the victory over Satan the end.
Ah ah. Come on now, let us open up with
a word of prayer. Dear how many Father God, We
just thank you God for allowing us to come into
your presence this morning. We thank you Lord for all
(04:59):
that that you've done for us, all that you have
been to us. Lord, we thank you for your grace
and your mercy. Lord. We ask Lord that you will
forgive us for our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Lord Lord, we asked that you would be with those
that are veterans right now. Lord, in the name of Jesus,
we ask Lord that you will be with them and
keep us all Lord that have served in the military. Lord,
(05:22):
we ask Lord that even though we all may those
who have served, we may have hung up the uniform, Lord,
but we can put on our whole armor in you
in the name of Jesus. Lord, Lord, be as right now, Lord,
that you will be with those that are on active duty. Lord,
that you will protect them, Lord, provide for them, Lord,
(05:42):
encourage them, Lord, and let them know that their service
is not gone unknow this Lord, but you would be
with them. In the name of Jesus. Lord, we pray
that you will be with the command in officer's Lord,
that command our military. Lord, that they would use level heads, Lord,
and that they will lead in accordance to your will.
(06:03):
In the name of Jesus. We know that there's wars
and rumors of wars and things are gonna take place. Lord,
but we ask that you will cover your people today. Lord.
We ask that you would be with the military chaplains
right now. Lord, that they will give good guidance Lord,
and good Biblical counsel to the people Lord as they serve.
(06:25):
In the name of Jesus. We pray for the first
responders Lord, those that are on the first ones on
the scene. Lord, we ask Lord that you would be
with them, Lord, protect them, encourage them, and guide them
in all your ways. In the name of Jesus. Lord,
we pray with the military families today, Lord, we pray
that while some may be separated from their loved ones,
(06:47):
that they're not separated from you, Lord, and that they
would know that you are with them and all they
have to do is look up to you. From whence
come is their help, and their help comes from you. Lord.
We just thank you today for hearing our prayer's. Lord,
we asked that those military servicemen and women that are
of you, Lord, that they will help others to come
into the acknowledgement of who you are, Lord, and that
(07:10):
they will glorify your name, Lord as they witness and
minister to others, even in uniform, out of uniform, on
the field, out to feel Lord, we ask it that
you will be with them and guide them in the
name of Jesus, so that souls will be saved. We
just thank you, Lord, that you have a work for
us to do, Lord, and while we may not be
(07:32):
still in uniform, that you still have a work for
us to do. Lord, for your kingdom, Lord, for your glory,
for your honor. We pray all these things and your
son's name, Jesus, You're sure Hamashik, thank God, Amen, Amen, Amen.
Once again, I pray that your week is going well,
(07:54):
and that the remainder of this week will continue to
be blessed for you as well. Well. Today we're going
to be We're going to be going over an article
later on in the second half of this podcast, but
I want to before we go into that, I want
(08:18):
to give you a word, a word from God. And
this word comes from Luke, chapter seventeen. Luke, chapter seventeen
and verse eleven. Because oftentimes we can we can see
people that and I believe a lot of soldiers experienced
(08:41):
this during the Vietnam War. If you go back and
read in history, althose that can still tell you about it.
It was a time that the war was very, very unpopular,
and many soldiers came home. They came home, not to
not with parades or people thanking them for their service anything,
(09:04):
but they came to a They returned home with people
not even caring that some had been dismembered, some lost limbs,
they had gone through a lot of things. And even
though they had gone through those things over there, because
the war was so unpopular, many people, many veterans, felt
(09:29):
as if they were not appreciated by their country. And
oftentimes we have to be careful that we don't we
go to the way side of the fuel you're on.
With regards to various things that take place in today's society,
(09:49):
we want to always remember to tell those who serve
to tell them thank you. But Jesus experienced this, and
Jesus experienced where he had done something great for ten leopards,
but only one remember to say thank you. And so
(10:09):
In Luke, chapter seventeen, and starting at verse eleven, it says,
now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the
border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into
a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They
stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, Jesus, master,
(10:34):
have pity on us. When he saw them, he said,
go show yourselves to the priests. And as they went
they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw he
was healed, came back praising God in a loud voice.
He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him, and
(10:58):
he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, we're not all ten cleansed?
Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to
give praise to God except this foreigner then he said
to him, rise and go. Your faith has made you well.
(11:21):
And so see here we see that Jesus he got
the attention of these these ten leopards. These ten leopards cry.
Oh no, they cried out to him, Lord, Jesus, have
mercy on us, or whatever they want. These day. They
had heard about Jesus healing other people, you can assume,
and so they came in and they wanted to get
(11:42):
their healing. Because leprosy was something that made you an outcast.
So therefore, if you had leprosy, you were not allowed
to be around the common people. We know from the
Mosaic Loss. Excise me from the Mosaic Loss that they
had to be the outside of the camp when they
(12:02):
got certain type of diseases. Anyone that they would even
come in contact with or touch. Anything that they did
touch would be considered unclean. So the only way that
they would be able to go and be able to
intermingle with society again is to be cured. And to
they would have to be They would have to go
(12:23):
before the priests in order for the priests to announce
them as being clean. The only people they could be
around were people that were like themselves. So you had
these ten lepers who were together and Jesus. They called
out to Jesus for him to heal them and as
and Jesus told them to go and show yourself to
(12:44):
the priests. So as they obeyed what Jesus said, they
were healed. But the thing is is that only one
remember Jesus. Only one remember to say thank you, and
it was a Samaritan. Know that there was a history
of bad blood between the Samaritans and Jews, and we're
not gonna go into all that right now. But the
(13:07):
one that you would think would have been the one
not to come back to say thank you was the
one that did. And Jesus he asked, what were the
other nine? Didn't I heal ten? But only one remember
to say thank you? And Jesus told him to rise
because his faith had made him well. Isn't it something
(13:33):
that when God does something for someone, we have to
be careful to not forget to say thank you. If
Jesus has done anything for you, and we know that
he has, say thank you. It may have been something
that may have been small that you wanted, but he
(13:53):
did it for you. It may have been something that
was really great that he did, and you know he
did it for you. Don't forget to say thank you.
Thank you to anyone who does something that they don't
even have to do for you, but remember to say
thank you. We often will teach children, hey, if someone
does something or give you something, what do you say?
(14:15):
And they say thank you? So we want to always
remember this is a simple lesson. But the thing is,
it's a simple lesson that many people forget. They forget
to say thank you. And we're living in a society
that are full of entitled, selfish individuals. They feel like,
I'm entitled to this, I'm entitled to that. But then
(14:37):
even if they should get it, they will not say
thank you. Why because they have a mindset of entitlement,
and we don't want to have that mindset of entitlement.
We want to always know that whatever the Lord does
for us, whatever someone else does for us, whenever we
(14:58):
when someone is serving, don't forget to say thank you
for your service. You might see an older gentleman he
from the whether it's World War two, or rather it's Vietnam,
or whatever case may be, take a moment to say
thank you for your service. Many people don't care anymore.
(15:18):
Many people they are going around and they forget that
our freedom first came from God and then the people
that God allowed to serve many people die so that
you could have freedom, freedom of liberty. Well, actually liberty
is freedom, but freedom, freedom of speech, freedom to bear arms,
(15:40):
freedom to worship, freedom to where you don't have to
wear a sheet over you, where you can have freedom
to do whatever it is that you choose to do.
And this is not to down anyone who believes in
serve attire, but what we're saying here is that many
(16:02):
people died so that you can have freedom. Many people
wish that they had the same liberties that we have
had over here. Freedom to vote. Come on, now, how
many people of African Americans gave their lives so that
you could even vote. So regardless if you choose to
(16:23):
utilize that or not, that's you know, that's a personal choice.
But the thing is is that don't forget that someone
paid the price for your liberty, and remember to say
thank you. We're going to take a quick break and
we'll be back in just a moment.
Speaker 4 (17:09):

Speaker 4 (19:49):
To the songs to.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
And that is the United States Armed Forces melody moment
h U as military songs. And I hope that you
and enjoy that. I want to read you this article
that I had pulled up earlier and speaking of being
grateful or in this case, disgrateful ungrateful. This is a
(21:16):
military I'm sorry, a veteran. This is from People. I
believe this is People magazine. Veteran allegedly kicked off Delta
flight for wearing T shirt. Flight attendant deemed threatening. Let
me repeat that title. Veteran allegedly kicked off Delta flight
for wearing T shirt. Flight attendant dean threatening. And what
(21:44):
took place here was hold on just a moment. Please,
So what took place was a woman. I'm gonna read
the article. A woman flying out of San Francisco International
Airport was allegedly asked to the plane and changed her shirt,
which read end veteran suicide. That's right, that was what
(22:08):
was on the shirt was end veteran suicide. A woman
was allegedly asked to the plane from the Delta Airline
flight earlier this week, after, she claims that the flight
attendant told her the T shirt she was wearing was threatening.
According to reports from local San Francisco outlest SFGate and
(22:33):
NBC Bay Area, US Marine Corps veteran Catherine Banks was
boarding a plane at San Francisco International Airport on Wednesday,
October sixteenth, when a flight attendant approached her and asked
her to get off the plane. A male attendant was saying, ma'am, ma'am.
(22:56):
I looked around like who was he talking to? And
it was me. He said you need to get off
the plane, and I was like, what did I do?
Banks told NBC Bay Area. After getting off the plane,
Banks said that the flight attendant told her that her
T shirt, which red do not give in to the
(23:17):
war within in suicide in veteran suicide, was threatening. So
we have here, So we have here a veteran, a
female veteran, who was wearing a shirt that said in
veteran suicide, and this was considered threatening. The whole shirt
(23:42):
says do not give in to the war within in
veteran suicide. So with this shirt is talking about the
battle that many veterans face, the war within, fighting to
keep things balanced in regards to their mental state and
(24:03):
in veterans suicide, because, as we've said on this podcast,
there are seventeen veterans that take their lives every day,
seventeen veterans a day in their lives in suicide. And
so the flight attendant, I'm gonna continue reading, Banks Toe,
NBC Bay Area that she had to face away from
(24:27):
the flight attendant as she changed into another sweatshirt because
she wasn't wearing a bra. Flight attendants, Bank said, also
told her to sit in the back of the plane
even though she had paid for an extra for extra
leg room seat. The flight was delayed and she missed
(24:49):
a connecting flight in the day. She added, Now let
me just say this and I want to just read
this last comment to her, Banks said. Bank shirt is
made by till I'm a trying to pronounce this Veil
Holly Project, which provides mental health treatment to US veterans,
(25:11):
has renovated veteran homes and more. She goes on this set,
I feel like they took away my soul. I'm not
a bad person, and that T shirt I should be
allowed to support myself and veterans, Banks Toe, NBC Bay Area.
And when you look at the T shirt. It's not
a threatening T shirt. It's a black it's mostly a
(25:31):
black T shirt with it looks like some either white,
either white or gray writing along with red and it
says do not give into the war within in veterans
suicide and so. According to the Delta Contract of Carriage
for US flights, the airline has sole discretion to determine
whether or not passengers should be removed from a flight
(25:54):
for the passenger's comfort or safety, for the comfort or
safety of other passengers or Delta employees, or for the
prevention of damage to the property of Delta or its
passengers or employees. Certain conditions that allow flight attendants to
remove passengers from a flat from a plane include disorderly,
abusive of violent conduct, or when the passengers conduct attire
(26:18):
hygiene or older creates an unreasonable risk of offense or
annoyance to other passengers. A Delta spokesperson told people in
a in a statement, the matter with the customer has
been resolved. We appreciate her patience as we continue to
work to understand what occurred during this event. Most importantly,
(26:39):
we are thankful for her service to our country. They
surely had a way of doing that. Let me just
say this. You have a lot of people who who
hate the military people within our own nation, rather their
their form or their natural born citizens. You have those
(27:03):
who hate people like us who have served for no
other reason than we have served. You have even fanatics
that would dare to tell you, oh, if you're a
Christian you served in a military, then you need to
ask for repentance. I've had that one. I say repent
for what I say. God has always had Israel when
(27:29):
even in the biblical times, you know he had them
to count out men that were twenty and above, and
that was for military purposes. So God has always been
a god of whether armed forces of military right. So
I didn't have to repent for anything. But you have
people that feel that way that you have done something wrong,
(27:51):
or if you were a shirt that embraces you being
in the military, they have a problem with it. They
have a problem with those who embrace If you are
one that believes in your Second Amendment rights, they have
a problem with that. Instead of them saying thank you
for your service, thank you for giving me the ability
to be able to act like a fool and freedom,
(28:13):
then they would rather come against you because of your service.
They don't want to thank you for serving. They don't
want to thank you for, you know what, appreciating that
you know, I live in a free country. I have
lived in a free country, and I thank you for
your service that allows me to be able to be
(28:34):
in the land of freedom. This is why it is
regardless of which side you're on, which political side you're on,
it's important that we understand that when we are talking
about rather it's legal immigration or whatever case may be,
it is important for people to appreciate the history of
(28:58):
this nation, for is where we have come from. Because
you have a lot of people that are that are
not in tune with the history of this nation, how
freedoms had to be fought for. The rights that we
have were not just automatically given, but they had a
(29:22):
lot of blood was shed for these rights. And so
therefore you have people that don't even know the history
of this nation and they don't they take it for granted.
You have those that take it for granted because even
those that are natural born citizens, they take it for
granted that we have freedoms. But one day those freedoms
may not be in existence. As we're seeing that they're
(29:45):
actually being chipped away a little bit by a little
bit by little bit. And so therefore, when you keep
chipping away at it, you're gonna find that you don't
have those freedoms that you once enjoyed. We want to
always remember to say thank you to those again who
have served. This woman was wearing a shirt, This veteran
Marine Corps veteran was wearing a shirt in support of
(30:08):
her fellow brothers and sisters who deal with suicidal thoughts
each and every day. So she was wearing a shirt
in support of them to say, you know what, we
want to end the war within because there's a war
going on in your mind, okay. And therefore many have
come back from different wars, from different battles, and they're
(30:33):
dealing with PTSD each and every day. There are so many,
so many soldiers or former soldiers that are dealing with PTSD,
and many are dealing with depression, many dealing with anxiety,
panic attacks, stress, weary, and they're committing suicide every day.
(30:59):
And we don't want this to continue. And I just
encourage you that when you see someone that works a veteran,
you know they have a veteran hat on they have
their their veteran shirt, you see them with their veteran
car plates, dog tags, or you know someone that's serving,
(31:20):
someone that has served, someone that may be a relative
of the person. They may be the wife of a
spouse that's serving, or the husband of a spouse that's serving.
Then you want to say thank you for your service,
thank you for the loved one that is serving on
our behalf, so that we can enjoy the freedoms that
(31:45):
we have in this nation. Because let me just say this,
some of the crazy ways that people act over here,
if they were to do it in some other nation
that wasn't free, they would be flogged or worse. But
we have a name that don't appreciate their ability to
act like fools because someone died so that they can
(32:06):
have the freedom to act a fool. And many of
them are acting as fools. But we want to again
use our common sense to appreciate those who have served
this nation. And I have served, and I want to
thank you all that have served and those who are
(32:31):
serving presently. Well, we're going to end today's podcast, and
I pray that you enjoy the rest of this day,
the rest of this week, the rest of this month,
the rest of this year, and most importantly, make sure
that you serve in honor of God. Until next time.
Speaker 2 (33:05):
Thanks for tuning in to Veterans in Christ.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
We pray that you found today's podcast informative and we
look forward to being with you again during the next podcast.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
May the Lord blessed him keep you going out and
coming in.
