Welcome to the Victorious through Christ podcast, where we explore
how to live a life rooted in faith and victory
through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I'm doctor eric
Is Seaborn, and today we're diving into a topic that
affects many of us, the contrast between how we present
(01:24):
ourselves publicly and who we are privately. Have you ever
encountered someone who seems to embody peace and love in public,
yet behind closed doors they stir up drama and conflict.
It can be disheartening and confusing, but the Bible offers
(01:50):
us profound insights into this issue. Let's start with Matthew
Chapter twenty three, verses twenty seven through twenty eight. What
Jesus calls the pharisees whitewashed tombs. They look beautiful on
(02:11):
the outside, but inside they were full of dead bones
and uncleanliness. And this passage reminds us that the outward
appearance can be deceiving. It's a call to examine our
own hearts and ensure that our inner lives reflect the
(02:32):
love and peace of Jesus Christ that we proclaimed to have. Next,
in James Chapter three, verses fourteen through sixteen, we see
a stark morning against bitter jealousy and selfish ambition. James
(02:52):
reminds us that such attitudes do not come from God,
but are earthly and unspiritual, and rather it's jealousy and
selfish ambition. Disorder and vile practices abound, and this is
a crucial reminder the true peace comes from a heart
(03:13):
aligned with God. Proverbs chapter twenty six, verses twenty four
through twenty six takes it a step further. It describes
a person who hides hatred behind flattering words, revealing a deep,
(03:33):
deeply rooted hypocrisy. Friends, we must be vigilant about our
own hearts and the words we speak, our regenuinely promoting
peace or our reseecretly harboring resentment. Now we can find
(03:55):
hope in first John chapter four, verse twenty, which challenges
us to consider our love for others. If we claim
to love God but harbor hatred towards others, we are
not being truthful and this verse compels us to align
our actions with our professed beliefs in Jesus Christ. And lastly,
(04:22):
let's look at Galatians chapter five, verses nineteen through twenty one,
where Paul contrasts the works of the flesh with the
fruits of the spirit. Strife, jealousy, and divisions are not
characteristics of a life led by the Spirit of God. Instead,
(04:45):
we are called to exhibit love, joy and peace. So
how do we ensure that we are living authentically? It
begins self examination and a sincere relationship with Jesus Christ.
(05:07):
We must ask ourselves are we seeking to stir up
peace or conflict? Or are we genuinely reflecting Christ's love
and our actions? And as we wrap up, remember that
living victoriously through Christ means aligning our hearts with his.
(05:28):
Let's strive to be authentic in our faith, allowing His
love to shine through us in every situation, both publicly
and privately. Thank you for joining me today on Victorious
through Christ. If you found this episode helpful, please share

the next time, keep seeking peace and living victoriously through
Jesus Christ. God bless you.
