Welcome to Victoria's through Christ, where we explore the power
and presents of Jesus in our lives. I'm doctor eric
Is Seaborn, and today we're going to discuss the distinction
between divine acts and human endeavors, and why understanding this
difference is crucial to living the Christian faith. As believers,
(02:10):
we know that Jesus Christ performed miracles that reflected his
divine nature, and these were not acts of magic or
human trickery, but demonstrations of his authority as God incarnate.
And John one pin fourteen reved the word, became flesh
(02:30):
and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory,
the glory of the one and only Son who came
from the Father, full of grace and truth. Now that
verse reminds us that Jesus's works were divine, filled with
grace and truth, not mere human manipulation. Now let's discuss
(02:57):
the nature of miracles of versus magic. There's a significant
distinction between the miracles of Jesus and what we might
call magic or alchemy, and magic in human terms often
implies an attempt to control or manipulate natural forces. But
Hebrews one three tells us that Jesus is sustaining all
(03:22):
things by his powerful word. His miracles, therefore, are expressions
of his sovereign will and his power. Consider the feeding
of the five thousand. In Matthew fourteen nineteen through twenty one,
Jesus took the loaves and fish, gave thanks, and distributed them,
(03:43):
feeding thousands. And this wasn't an illusional trick. It was
a divine act of provision and compassion. Now, let's address misunderstandings.
Recently I came across social media posts claiming Jesus was
an alchemist. Such claims can be misleading and undermine the
(04:08):
true nature of his divine mission. According to Colossians two nine,
for in Christ, all the fullness of the deity lives
in bodily form. This affirms this divine identity, distinct from
any human attempt to replicate his power. I like to
(04:29):
offer encouragement for believers in Jesus Christ. As we navigate
a world full of misconceptions and deceptions. It's vital to
hold onto the truth of scripture. Jesus's miracles who were
not mere wonders, They were signs pointing to us his
(04:50):
identity as the Messiah and the savior of the world.
So let's be encouraged by First Corinthians two five, so
that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but
in God's power. Our victory lies and understanding and trusting
His divine nature. Thank you for joining me today on
(05:15):
victorious through Christ. And remember, through his divine power we
are more than conquerors. Stay rooted in His world on purpose,
and let His truth guide you, which is the Holy Spirit.
He will guide you, teach you, and comfort you. And
(05:37):
until the next time you meet, may God continue to
bless you and guide you and his truth. And remember
nothing can compare to the awesome nature of Jesus Christ.
God bless you.
