Reading some Doctor Eric Caciborn, thank you for joining on
another episode of the Victorious through Christ Podcast. Today our
topic is your purpose is greater than your pain. In
our journey of faith, we often encounter challenges and hardships
(02:27):
that can leave us feeling overwhelmed. Painful experiences like losing
a loved one, losing a job, facing discrimination and doing abuse,
or feeling forsaken in a relationship can shake our faith
(02:48):
and cause us to question our purpose. However, in the scriptures,
we are reminded that these difficulties are not without purpose,
and today we're going to explore how our pain serves
a greater purpose in our lives. We're going to draw
(03:08):
from various scriptures in the New Testament, from James chapter one,
Romans chapter five, Second Corinthians chapter four, and First Peter
chapter one, and I will be reading from the HCSB version,
the Homan Christian Standard Bible. Let's look at James Champer
(03:31):
one Versus two through four, and again I'll be reading
from the Homan Christian Standard writing, consider it a great
joy of my brothers whenever you experience various trials, knowing
that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But endurance
(03:53):
must do it's complete work so that you may be
mature and complete, lacking nothing. And those scripture passages that
James reminds us and encourages us to consider it joy
when we face various trials, for they teach us perseverance,
(04:20):
and each trial serves as a teacher instructing us in
patience and resilience. For example, imagine losing a loved one.
The grief can be overwhelming, which I know personally for myself,
and I'm sure you have experienced that as well. But
(04:40):
through that pain, we have to learn about the depth
of our relationships and the importance of cherishing each moment,
and it teaches us empathy and compassion for others who
are grieving as well. It teaches us to be more
supportive and encouraging and patience. So I encourage you to
(05:02):
embrace your trials and ask God, what are you teaching
me through this? And recognize that each challenge is an
opportunity for spiritual growth. Romans Chapter five, verses three through
five says, and not only that, but we also rejoice
(05:24):
in our afflictions because we know that affliction produces endurance.
Endurance produces character, and proven character produces hope. This hope
will not disappoint us because God's love has been poured
(05:46):
out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who is
given to us now. In those scriptures, the Apostle Paul
highlights that suffering produces perseverance, which in turn builds character
and hope. And our suffering is not in vain. It
(06:09):
is a forge that strengthens our faith. And if you remember,
faith is the substance of things hoped for and the
evidence of things not seen. Now consider losing a job.
I've been there also, and I assure you or someone
(06:30):
you may know has experienced this. The uncertainty and stress
can feel the debilitating, and yet many people find that
this experience pushes them to pursue that passions or explore
new opportunities that they never considered before, and it can
ultimately lead to a more fulfilling career that aligns with
(06:54):
their true calling. That's a blessing. Reflect on your past
hardships that has strengthened your faith and share those testimonies
with others to encourage them. And their struggles are showcasing
how God can use pain to shape your character and
(07:19):
to get you out of your comfort zone. Second Curriculans,
Chapter four, Versus sixteen through eighteen says, therefore, we do
not give up. Even though our outer person is being destroyed,
our inner person is being renewed day by day, for
(07:41):
our momentary light affection is producing for us an absolutely
incomparable eternal weight of glory. So we do not focus
on what is seen for what is unseen. For what
is seen is temporary, for what is unseen is eternal.
(08:05):
In those verses, Paul reminds us not to lose heart.
Despite our outward struggles, our current troubles are temporary and
are achieving. Any eternal glory that flow outweighs any struggle
we are facing in this world, and pain provides us
(08:27):
with a renewed perspective on life's eternal significance. Experiencing discrimination
or abuse can be incredibly painful, and I know that
from the experience as well. And it can also open
our eyes to the struggles of others and ignite a
fire within us to advocate for justice. And such experiences
(08:54):
often lead individuals to become passionate about social change and
health those who are often marginalized. So I encourage you
to shift your focus from the temporary to the eternal
and consider and consider how your current pain can lead
(09:19):
others to Jesus Christ, and allow your suffering to be
a testimony of God's faithfulness in the face of adversity.
Use it as your footstool, step on it, and use
it to lift you up to encourage others. Then one
(09:42):
Peter Champter one verses six through seven says you rejoice
in this though now for a short time you have
had to struggle in various trials, so that the genuineness
of your faith more valuable than gold which perishes. God
(10:05):
refined by fire may result in praise, glory, and honor
at the revelation of Jesus Christ and those versus. Peter
speaks of trials that test the genuineness of our faith,
which is more precious than gold, and this faith, refined
(10:30):
through fire results in praise and glory at the revelation
of Jesus Christ. Feeling forsaken in a relationship can lead
to deep pain and loneliness, and many people experience this
during this time of year, during the holiday season, and
(10:51):
it's not easy. Yet many finds that this experience drives
them closer to God, finding a deeper reliance on Him,
and they can strengthen their faith and ultimately prepare them
for healthier relationships in the future. I encourage you to
(11:12):
cultivate a resilient faith through prayer and daily meditation and
reading of the scriptures, and when facing trials, remember that
your faith is being fortified and preparing you for greater
purposes in God's plan for your life. Now, as navigate
(11:37):
the trials and tribulations of this life, let us remember
that our purpose is indeed greater than our pain, and
each trial teaches us, strengthens us, provides perspective, and fortifies
our faith. Embrace the journey, knowing that God is at
(11:57):
work shaping you for a purpose beyond what you can
see of your eyes. And trust in His plan, and
let your pain be a catalyst for a greater purpose
in your life. Through every heartache and struggle, maybe find
hope and the primise that our purpose is greater than
(12:18):
our pain. In Jesus' name, God bless you.
