Welcome to Victorious through Christ, where we explore how faith
empowers us to live victoriously in every aspect of our lives.
I'm your host, doctor Eric is Seaborn, and today we're
diving into a thought provoking topic, the source of our
success and the importance of recognizing God's grace in each
(04:32):
aspect of our lives. Have you ever heard someone say,
you made it this far by the grace of God.
It's a powerful statement that acknowledges that our achievements are
not solely due to our own efforts, but are also
(04:55):
a result of the grace and mercy of the Most
High God. However, what happens when someone counters this by saying, no,
you made it by the grace of me, or by
attributing success to human effort alone, by making comments saying
(05:16):
they made it by pulling up their own bootstraps. Well,
today we're going to discuss how such statements can minimize
God's role in our lives and why, biblically speaking, they
could be considered blasphemous. Let's start out by looking at
(05:40):
Ephesians chapter two, Versus six through nine, where it says,
for by grace you have been saved through faith, and
that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God,
not of works, so that no one may boast. This
(06:03):
passage reminds us that our very salvation is a gift
from God, understanding the principles that we cannot achieve anything
of eternal significance without His grace. When we achieve success,
(06:23):
it's essentral to recognize that it is God who enables us.
Philippians four thirteen says I can do all things through Christ,
who strengthens me. That scripture emphasizes that our strength and
ability come from Christ, not from our own capabilities. They
(06:46):
come from the most High God. Now let's consider the
implications when someone denies this truth. In Isaiah chapter forty two,
God coclaims, I am the Lord. That is my name
(07:07):
and my glory. I will not give it to another.
When we attribute our achievements solely to ourselves or others,
we risk taking away that glory that rightfully belongs to
God and God alone. And this is not just a
(07:28):
minor oversight, but can be seen as a serious, I
would say, a serious matter in the light of scripture.
In Matthew chapter twelve, verses thirty one through thirty two,
we're warned about the unforgivable sin of blasphemy against the
Holy Spirit. While interpretations may very many agree that speaking
(07:55):
and reverently about God is diminishing his role as a
great offense, and personally I take offense when someone speaks
against God. So what can we do. First, Let's cultivate
an attitude of gratitude and first that Salonians chapter five,
(08:17):
verse eighteen, We're encouraged to give things in all circumstances,
for this is God's will for us in Christ Jesus.
By acknowledging God's hand and our successes, we honor him
and foster a spirit of humility. And additionally, let's be
(08:40):
mindful of our words. James chapter three, verses nine through
ten reminds us that with our tongues we can either
bless or curse. Let's choose to bless God and recognize
his grace in every achievement. And as we wrap up
(09:02):
today's episode, remember that victories are rooted in Christ Jesus.
Let's celebrate our successes by giving honor and glory to
God first, who is the true source of our strength
and our achievements and our successes. Everything good comes from
(09:23):
the most High God. Thank you for tuning in to
Victorious through Christ. And if you found today's episode insightful,
please share it with a friend and leave a review.
Join me next time as we continue to explore how
faith leads to victory in our lives. Until then, stay
(09:48):
blessed and victorious through Christ on purpose, focusing on Him
and giving him the honor and the glory he justly deserves.
God bless you. No Monty too high, no family too low.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
With every simple moad, I'm stronger. I know through Him
of Thy strength my spirit in love
