Speaker 1 (00:18):
In the morning, night, arise and see with f in
the high con finally free. No moldy too high, no
my too low. With every simple I'm stronger, I know
(00:44):
through Hell of Thy strength, my spiriting no. Hello, and
thank you for joining me Doctor eric Is Seaborn for
another episode of Toyous through Christ. It's been a couple
of weeks since I've posted any content because I've been
(01:09):
dealing with the recent passing of my father, who was
a great man, and dealing with the grieving process is
a day by day challenge. I miss him daily and
I know in my heart he would want me to
(01:29):
continue to go on living his legacy and doing it
to the best of my capabilities. So I'm going to
do that by the grace of God and focus on that.
And I appreciate your prayers, your patience, but most importantly,
(02:01):
I appreciate enough the grace of God who gets us
through all things. Now, I want to welcome you to
another episode where we are going to explore how to
live a life of purpose and faith. Again. I'm doctor
(02:21):
eric Is Seaborn, and today we're diving into a topic
that resonates deeply in our social media driven world. The
difference between seeking fame and influencing others with humility, all
through a biblical lens and our culture. It is easy
(02:46):
to get caught up in the pursuit of fame, and
social media platforms often reward attention and attention seeking behavior,
and many aspiring content creators chase likes, followers, and viral moments.
(03:06):
But let's pause and reflect. What does the Bible say
about the motivations behind our influence. First, let's consider motivation
and intent. Proverbs Chapter sixteen, verse eighteen reminds us pride
(03:27):
goes before destruction, a hearty spirit before a fall. When
we pursue fame for its own sake, we risked falling
into pride, and it's a slippery slope that can lead
us astray for our true purpose and our calling. And
in contrast, Jesus teaches us the value of serving others.
(03:54):
In Mark ten forty five, he says, for even the
son of Man did not come to be served, but
to serve. A genuine desire to uplift and influence others
reflects his heart and his mission, which we are called
to do reflect the heart and mission of Jesus Christ,
(04:16):
not our own. Now, let's talk about the value of humility.
Philippians chapter two, verses three through four calls us to
do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather,
in humility, value others above yourselves, and not looking to
(04:40):
your own interests, but each of you to the interest
of the others. You know that is a powerful reminder
that our influence should be rooted in caring for others
and not in seeking our own glory. You know, when
(05:01):
we create content with humility, we create a space for
authentic connections and influence, and our audience feels valued and
heard rather than just another number in our follow account. Now,
(05:22):
let's explore the fruit of the spirit. In Galatians chapter five,
verses twenty two through twenty three, we read about qualities
like love, kindness, and self control, and these are the
traits that we should embody as content creators. Content that
(05:43):
is rooted in these values has a lasting impact, whereas
content driven by the pursuit of fame often fades away quickly.
And speaking of lasting impact, my father left the lasting
(06:04):
impact on me. He didn't seek attention. He was a
great example of a person who walked in humility, and
he often did things for others that no one knew about.
He didn't always seek credit for it. And you know, unfortunately,
(06:28):
in today's society, people like to seek credit for it.
They like to make sure they appear on camera and
show what they did, a brag about what they did.
And that's not authentic, that's curated. That's false humility, that's
for sure. And what I strive to do. I strive
(06:52):
to do what I need to do for the glory
of God, not for my own glory. And Ravis, speaking
of lasting impact, let's refer to Matthew Chapter six, verses
nineteen through twenty one, which advises us not to store
up treasures on earth, but to focus on eternal treasures.
(07:16):
What our goal is to uplift, to educate and encourage others.
We create a legacy that outlast any fleeting moment of fame,
which is what I was just talking about, My father's
legacy that would outlast any moment of fame that I
could ever get or anyone could ever get. A legacy
(07:38):
is more important than fleeting fame. What are you leaving behind?
Are you doing things just for attention or are you
doing things because you're called to do it and you're
not seeking attention of fame or even referring to yourself
(07:58):
as a content. Are you referring to yourself as a
child of God who is doing his will and pursuing
his will for his glory and not your own. That
is something very important to take into consideration. We must
remember the accountability that comes with influence. James Chapter three,
(08:25):
verse one warns us that not many of you should
become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we
who teach will be judged more strictly. This underscores the
weight of our words and actions as influencers, and our
(08:45):
focus should always be on truth, authenticity, love, and genuine
connection and conclusion to navigate the world of content creation.
Let's strive to be influencers rooted in humility and service
(09:10):
rather than seekers of fame. And let's remember the words
of Jesus Christ and seek to transform lives through authentic connections, prayer,
and true value. I want to thank you for joining
me today on Victorious through Christ. If you find this
(09:32):
value in this episode, please share it with someone who
might benefit from it. Choose to be a blessing to others.
When you find value in some pain, share it, pass
(09:52):
it on because if it blessed you, it may bless
someone else in a different way, and then they can
share it. Planning to seed, and who knows what kind
of harvest we may have from this. It may be
a bountiful harvest for the glory of God. And that's
(10:15):
more important than having a harvest of fame here on earth,
where everything is temporal and temporary. Whatever you seek, seek
to do it for the glory of God in the
name of Jesus Christ. And remember your influence can change lives.
(10:37):
Make it count until the next time. Stay victorious in
Christ by the grace of God in Jesus' name, God,
bless yousing. I'm reaching like God. Whimpo is my honor,
(11:02):
Ready to fight to Christ every challenge. Just jog into
