Speaker 1 (00:01):
Light up. Today we see we find out the way
impossible dreams. Whatever we get through when outside nothing we
can't do.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Welcome back to Victoria's through Christ. I'm your host doctor
area because seaborn and today we're diving into the topic
that's close to my heart, the power of our words
and how they reflect our faith. In the world flooded
with social media clutter and chatter, it's more important than
(00:42):
ever to ensure our speech mirrors the character of Jesus Christ.
Let's start with Aphesians chapter four, verse twenty nine, which
reminds us, do not let any unwholesome talk come out
of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building
(01:03):
others up according to their needs that it may benefit
those who listen. Think about it. Our words have this
incredible ability to lift someone up or tear them down,
and as followers of Jesus Christ, real call to choose
(01:26):
words that encourage, uplift and edify. Now consider the comments
we often see online, angry rents, name calling, even the
humanizing language, and this isn't reflective of Jesus Christ's love.
(01:50):
Colossians chapter four, verse five urges us let your conversation
be always full of grace seasoned was so that you
may know how to answer everyone. Grace isn't just a
nice idea. It should be the very foundation of our interactions,
(02:17):
our relationships, guiding us in moments of disagreement. Matthew Chapter five,
verse forty four takes it a step further. But I
tell you love your enemies and pray for those who
persecute you. Imagine the impact that free approached conflict with
(02:43):
love instead of hostility. It's a tall order, but that's
what Jesus Christ calls us to do, higher than the
world's ray of reacting. James Chapter two, Well, let us
go to James chapter three, verses nine through ten. It
(03:05):
warns us about the hypocrisy of praising God with our
words while cursing others. It states, with the tongue we
praise our Lord and a father, and with it we
curse human beings who have been made in God's likeness. Truly,
our speech is a reflection of our faith. If we
(03:28):
claim to love God, our words towards others, no matter
their beliefs or actions, sha mirror that love that we're
supposed to be exhibiting towards them. Romans chapter twelve, verse
fourteen challenges us bless those who persecute you. Bless and
(03:52):
do not curse. It's a powerful call to respond with
kindness even to those who oppose us. And this doesn't
mean ignoring injustice, but it does mean choosing love over retaliation.
And finally, First Peter chapter two, verse nine, well, let's
(04:18):
make that First Peter chapter three, verse nine. It teaches
us do not repay evil with evil, or insult with insult.
On the contrary, repay evil with blessing. This is the
heart of Jesus Christ, love and action. It's breaking the
(04:40):
cycle of negativity and responding with kindness always. It's because
today's episode, I challenge you to examine how you talk
to others face to face and on mine and this
(05:02):
commit to being voices of love and grace, reflecting Jesus
Christ's character with every word we speach, and together we
can make a difference one kind word and a time.
(05:23):
Father and the name of Jesus, Thank you for blessing
each and every person listening under the sound of my
voice right now. I thank you for drawing them closer
to you through your Holy Spirit. Thank you for helping
us to guard our hearts, to watch what we say,
and to be cognizant that power lies in our tongue,
(05:47):
the power of life and death. And help us to
choose life with our words, especially when it is most challenging,
and it draws us closer to you, and draw us
others closer to you as well. Let our witness be
evident in our words as well as in our actions,
(06:10):
about who you are as our Lord and Savior and
as our Father. You are Spirit, you are love, You
are truth, and the only way that anyone can come
to you is through Jesus Christ. Father. We thank you
for the opportunity to be ambassadors of your love and
(06:32):
graciousness in every circumstance of our lives, drawing others closer
to you with our words and our actions to magnify
and glorify you. In Jesus' name, Grant every listener, every
hearer of this podcast, every supporter your grace and remind

to overcome evil with good and not be overcome with evil,

how they treat others, and their actions not just work
