Lola Cabrillana es conocida como "La maestra gitana", quizás por el título de su segundo libro, y por estar tan comprometida con la lucha contra el racismo, especialmente hacia el pueblo gitano. Tan activista es en este aspecto que en 2022 fue galardonada con el Premio a la Divulgación de la Cultura e Historia del Pueblo Gitano así como con el Premio Secretariado Gitano 2024 a la Solidaridad.
Antes de publicar "La maestra gitana", en 2020 autopublicó su primer libro, "Voces color canela", y en 2024 nos trae novedades con "Las cuatro esquinas del mar". De sus tres obras literarias, además de su trabajo como maestra de infantil y en los mercadillos, nos habla largo y tendido en #VocaciónDocente.
