I see the skies have absolutely opened up. It's pouring
down raining right now. But you know we're gonna have
a good time here on Wake Up Woodwich boyt brandan AKD.
You try to cool your cnnential pistony put a right
from the network. Flannel Sam no Vetter the squad of
Better than Network. I'm telling you, he is an expert
Riley Green jersey wearer, even more so than probably Ryley
Green himself at this point.
Speaker 6 (01:13):
At this point, it's comparable, I would say. But uh,
we're definitely going to get into him and a couple
other players who really stood out last night, including one
that it's not gonna make the eleven to one show
very happy, or at least one member of it. But
we'll get into that in a little bit. Rod Beard's
going to join the show at eight forty five and
(01:34):
continue into the second hour. We're going to go through
Detroit sports as a whole that we're gonna do Woodward Pistons,
but before we I know, Terry's got a zany question.
But we're also after that, we are going to cover
that Panther's bludgeoning last night and a four to two
Stanley Cup final win which really probably wasn't even that close.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
Yeah, not at all. You know, we got a full, full,
full cruling here today and the boost Cavasi chase, we
got JB. Smooth in turn, Ryan's in the building, the
legendary Foss. We're going to legends on Terry Foster and
Rob Beard and that do Justin. But uh false. I
got thrown over to you man because and Tat family
need you guys to be tapped in. I'm curious has
(02:19):
to where Tea Foss is gonna take this, but I'm
throwing the pass over to you, brother.
Speaker 5 (02:23):
Dude.
Speaker 7 (02:23):
I had a weird I'm talking a weird experience at
the doctor's office the other day and Fellas, I want
to apologize. If I come in here one time time
smelling like Swedish meat balls, you'll know why. The doctor,
doctor Zaruk, was telling me that one of my medications
is could create an infection.
Speaker 8 (02:48):
In my balls.
Speaker 7 (02:50):
What right, Well, well no, it gets worse than that.
So I'm like, dude, what are you talking about. Cause
he's a real proper guy and he didn't want to
say balls. He kept saying skirt him, scrowt him, and
I'm like, what to scrot him? And then finally he
had to come out and says, I need to make
sure that you dry your balls after the shower and thoroughly.
(03:14):
Then he said, to the standpoint that you might want
to use a hair dryer.
Speaker 8 (03:20):
I'm like, dude, are you serious? I said, I'm not
using a hair dryer.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
But if I do, he told you to blow dry
your balls.
Speaker 8 (03:27):
Yes, that's what that's what he told me. Wow, blow
dry your balls deep. I didn't know whether to.
Speaker 7 (03:38):
Laugh or but he said, you know, it could be
an infection and you have to make sure it's dry.
Speaker 9 (03:44):
Goodness, guy, I know where to go from there.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
You have to follo away. The proposition is for the chat,
we're gonna foll away. Get their involvement.
Speaker 8 (03:53):
Bro, that would hurt a blow dryer on your balls.
Speaker 6 (03:57):
Yeah, a sensitive AIA for sure.
Speaker 10 (04:01):
Man.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
Hey, shout out to your doctor to There's a cool
professionalism to the setting too.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
Hey.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
You know what, there's a cool button. There's a button
on there that you can press and it'll blow colder.
Speaker 8 (04:12):
You can do cool, that's right, you can't.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
There's also the he low setting in the high setting
and if you it's like fun fact you put it
on low, it's also lower heat. It doesn't blow his hard.
So you know you don't have to necessarily like send
your ball here there, Terry.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
Says Terry, Terry, you're gonna love me, lady on something
my house.
Speaker 7 (04:34):
Just I'm wondering if you get you know, the blow
dry down there be could you like create a perm
something like that.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
I don't know, you know what it's gonna get done?
Speaker 8 (04:46):
Why right? Style it? Do a Jerry curR?
Speaker 3 (04:50):
No, you can't keep it went down there? Terry put
some curlers on there.
Speaker 7 (04:56):
Hey, I may as well jazz it up for the honey.
Speaker 11 (05:00):
Some people pay today.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
I just put out my coffee after Tarry just said
shout out metal yellow bezel says ten dollars a day.
Stephen the young you do not need to hold the
blow dryer to your balls until they barn tee faults.
Give you advice.
Speaker 7 (05:18):
Okay, okay, thank you, but man, that that is not
gonna be comfortable.
Speaker 11 (05:22):
I mean, actually it's a little bit better for you.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
The fabric from the towel is not necessarily the best
for your skin, and will I supposed to letting your
body air dry.
Speaker 8 (05:31):
You know you know what I need now? No recipes?
Speaker 4 (05:35):
Oh my, I got throw it off to my baby
man flattel dog. This is so crazy. I'm goo going
at the chat already. Just Danta one five, We're already
off the rails. I love it.
Speaker 6 (05:51):
Well, chat family, If you guys have had any experiences
that are akin to that. Go ahead and throw them
at the chat. I see yuh, our main man stick
is already doing that. Shout out, shout out to you.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
Look where you guys are coming up early this morning.
Get your laugh a little bit. Absolutely have a little compensation.
Speaker 8 (06:13):
Bro, I'm not gonna be laughing if I actually do this.
Speaker 6 (06:15):
No, you know he's not.
Speaker 5 (06:17):
I will laugh.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
You know, you know what.
Speaker 8 (06:21):
I think. I'm gonna stick with a nice big thick towel.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
There you go.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
There, that works well.
Speaker 8 (06:28):
Speak a.
Speaker 11 (06:30):
Whoa well.
Speaker 6 (06:35):
Speaking of rubbing one out, I'm sure Panther fans were
doing that last night. Wow. Not the best transition, but
I will do my best. But but uh, trying to
get this back on the rest. I love it all right.
So we got to talk about it because it's the
Stanley Cup. It's the finals. It ended last night and
(06:56):
pretty in very dominant fashion for the Florida Panthers. The
Florida Panther did defeat the Edmonton Oilers five to one
last night to take the Stanley Cup Final four games
to two, and the Florida Panthers after Edmonton and probably
tied the series with a huge comeback in Game four
just basically put their foot on the throats of Edmonton,
(07:17):
the players, the city, the team all in one. And
there's no man who's happier right now than mister Cavasier
Chase or a Chase GPT because at this network, there's
no bigger Florida fan. Also anti Edmonton, also a Sam
Bennett fan, and of course we all know he came
home with the con smythe So Chase, this is just
(07:37):
your opportunity to talk your talk and hype up the
now back to back Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.
Speaker 5 (07:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (07:45):
I mean they're a really good team.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
They're built just on toughness, Like all four lines are
just a bunch of gritty, sandpaper type players. They play tough,
They're very physical, and it's definitely like the type of
identity that you'd love to see the Red Wings have.
Speaker 11 (08:00):
I mean, that's I think they.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Play such a such a tough, physical brand of hockey.
That's like exactly what I love to watch because not
only is it the toughness in this you know, in
the physicality, but they also have a lot of skill
and speed in their game too. So I mean, really
fun I had I had a feeling Florida was gonna
go back to back. I had a Aneil was pumping
up the his maple leafs all postseason, and I kept
(08:23):
telling him, like, they're not getting by Florida, And we
even made a bet because he was trying to pump
up his boy Connor McDavid again and the whole NHL
like that. I can't stan in Edmonton just because of
the way that like the NHL just tries to gift
wrap everything to him. They got like three number one
picks in a row right after they lost the Stanley
Cup Final the Hurricanes, and they still can't get the
(08:44):
job done. They sucked. They could barely make the playoffs,
couldn't get out of the first round. They had the
gift wrap them easy matchups with the Kings and then
get fed the scraps of a second round dog fight
between other teams in the other side of the bracket.
I mean, I just I can't stand them. I love
seeing them lose and just fuck them. Yeah, I mean
(09:05):
that's why. Yeah, it's fun. I love seeing the misery.
And it's like there's very few teams I hate like
in other in sports as much as I hate the
Edmonton Oilers. And so yeah, very cool to see Sam
Bennett won the Consmith Like he's a free agent. I'd
like to see, you know, if we poached anybody from Florida,
I'd like to see Aaron Ecklad the most. But I
(09:25):
know we've talked about that a little bit off the
off air, but you know, we'll see what happens. And
you know, very excited I have. You know, I have
a coffee from Neil that he owes me and I
told him yesterday I'm catching that in for a chocolate chip,
and yes, I want that warmed up.
Speaker 7 (09:37):
Neil think this is the wrong way. I don't think
Florida is that talented. But man, there's the ball Busters. Yeah,
I mean they just get in you and mess you
upuck up games.
Speaker 8 (09:51):
They can do whatever they want to do, and then
they can just pick it up, you know, kill it.
They're killers, man, they are just there.
Speaker 6 (10:01):
What's the what's the snake that just like kills you
by suffocating you, by squeezing you. Bolla, consider that's what
the Florida Panthers are. Before I hand it over to
Justin because I know he let me know before the
segment that he was going to have a take that
might make me a little bit mad. It's just think
(10:22):
about this. Think about just in the middle of the
season for the Florida Panthers, if you would have told
me that Sam Bennett would have fifteen goals in the
playoffs and that they would add Brad Marshan and he
would probably play the best playoffs of his career and
(10:44):
have six count them, six Stanley Cup goals. Not a
point per game, but a goal per game plus ver
Hoggy plus Kachuck plus a Barkoff plus Reinhart, all basically
being point per game in the playoffs, along with Bobrovsky
being his usual stout, so Aaron Ecklad being an absolute killer,
Seth Jones getting out of Blackhawk Hell and going to
(11:06):
Panther Heaven and thriving. I would have thought this team
might go sixteen to zero in the playoffs. Obviously, that's unreasonable,
that's not gonna happen. But the Florida Panthers, and what's up?
Speaker 8 (11:18):
This is the first six game sweep in NHL.
Speaker 6 (11:22):
Might as well be?
Speaker 5 (11:22):
Might as well be?
Speaker 6 (11:24):
It wasn't even close. It was. It was a six
game series that felt like, I mean, the Edmonton did
get too and they were really competitive in the first
couple of games and had that comeback, but it really
wasn't a close series once the once the Panthers felt
real danger, they just turn it up to a level
that Edmonton just could not match. So but uh, justin
(11:47):
you have some thoughts on the series, probably pro Florida
and also little anti Edmonton. Take it away, young sir.
Speaker 12 (11:54):
Edmonton will not be able to win a Stanley Cup
as currently constructed. They are not built in the right
way to McDavid get to where he wants to go.
They keep bringing in these offensive defensemen like Wellman, and
they obviously have developed Bouchard into one of the best
offensive defensemen in the NHL, but it's just not sustainable.
Their goaltending sucks, their their defense suck at playing defense,
(12:14):
which I don't know seems important just the name of
the position, and that I think that they need to
really look into trading away Bouchard is an RFA this offseason,
because that is a premier asset that could land them
a defensive defenseman and a goalie that could actually help
them win a Stanley Cup. And if they don't do
(12:35):
it this year, you have to start thinking is it
even sustainable to win a Cup when you're paying McDavid
sixteen million plus and Dryseitle fourteen million plus. Like, it's
just I don't know if it's sustainable. I don't think
it's sustainable. If they go into the this offseason and
they just like, oh, let's run it back, same style
of players, almost exact same guys, they're not gonna get
(12:56):
it done.
Speaker 13 (12:56):
Even with Florida losing either. They're gonna lose either.
Speaker 12 (13:01):
Ac Flad or Bennett, so they might not be the
same as they are this year, but still there's going
to be another team that is just as deep, that
plays that way that's going to cause them trouble next year,
and they really need to consider making some fundamental changes
to that team that identity, because if they keep playing
like this, they're.
Speaker 13 (13:18):
Not gonna get it done.
Speaker 12 (13:19):
Even though I know McDavid was hurt and that was
a big thing in the series, but the Panthers got
Panthers beat him up. He was hurt because they were
playing the Panthers, and yeah, everyone's playing hurt. You saw
if you looked at Matthew to chuck in is when
he's holding the cup in the locker room, he can
barely stand.
Speaker 13 (13:35):
He's limping around. He's I think he.
Speaker 12 (13:38):
Had a hernie or something that he has to get
in the offseason.
Speaker 13 (13:42):
Everyone's playing hurt. It's not an excuse.
Speaker 12 (13:44):
And the Boilers got to take a strong look in
the mirror and they got to think, is this really
a team that's gonna win the Stanley Cup.
Speaker 13 (13:50):
I don't think so. I think they gotta make some changes.
Speaker 8 (13:53):
I think they're already thinking about that.
Speaker 7 (13:55):
I mean, this is the first time I can remember
where a team loses in a final and they're talking
about rebuilding.
Speaker 8 (14:02):
They're not talking about retooling.
Speaker 7 (14:04):
They're talking about rebuilding a team that just went to
the Stanley Cup finals.
Speaker 6 (14:09):
You know, justin I have absolutely no problem with what
you're saying. As somebody who was rooting hard for Edmonton,
it was frustrating watching them just get their shit kicked in.
Even in games that Edmonton won, there were moments, especially
in a Game four, where Florida just looked like they
were gonna blow them away and then eventually kind of
(14:30):
let their foot off the gas and Edmonton made that
great comeback. But Games five and six weren't even close.
It didn't even look like the gap between Edmonton and Florida,
especially when it comes to a physical play was just
it was Lake Michigan. It was and that's what was
so frustrating. And I have actually one more question for
(14:51):
the hockey elite in this room. Anybody can take it.
I'll actually start with you, justin because you were mentioning
the defensive deficion deficiencies for the Oilers and how Bouchard,
although he's a great offensive player, really lacks defensively. We
all know what Walman can't do. How much of these
last two cup finals does McDavid get any blame whatsoever
(15:16):
or does he get a pass?
Speaker 13 (15:18):
I think he gets a pass.
Speaker 12 (15:20):
I think that if you want to turn to the
fact that he didn't score enough in this finals, fine,
but that's not all hockey is. I think they up
to the point he got injured, he was having a
great finals and he has was having a great playoffs
last year. I mean he won the kind smite that's
on the losing team. I don't think you can take blame.
Speaker 13 (15:36):
On that either.
Speaker 12 (15:37):
I just think that hockey is a game where it's
so important how deep you are, how your roster's built,
and it's a game of matchups, and Florida is the
Oilers' worst nightmare, and they are a nightmare matchup on paper.
They can't compete with the physicality, they don't play clean enough,
they don't keep the puck safe, they turn the puck
over too much. So I just I don't think that
(15:58):
they can blame McDavid. I think what you can blame
is their management for not building this team correctly around
Connor McDavid, because there's one thing they don't understand is
your offense is good enough. You have Connor McDavid and
Leon dry Cittle. You don't need more offense. You need defense,
and the fact that they can't figure that out is
honestly malpractice.
Speaker 6 (16:20):
Well said Justin Chase. Does McDavid get any blame for
the last couple of years falling just a little bit short?
Speaker 3 (16:25):
I mean, I don't see how you can try to
like blame, like put blame on him. It's not like
his performance lacked and he played as well as he could,
and there's things like outside of his control that just
don't go their way. You know, he can't play every
shift and be on the ice for all sixty minutes,
and over time he played a lot so I mean,
you know, I think it's tough. I think he's like
playing the role of the tragic hero from just like
(16:48):
Classic d like you just can't get it done, Like
he gets so close, especially in his last couple of years.
So you know, we'll see if one day he can
get it done. Well, he's wearing Edmonton orange on going
to root for him. So hopefully next year he gets
out of that hell hole and leaves in free agency
and they're just stuff, just flicking their wounds.
Speaker 6 (17:08):
Yeah, and I and for the record, I wouldn't mind
that at all. I have no attachment to Edmonton. I
just want Connor McDavid to get a Cup. And for
the record, I think the fact that he got a
con smythe last year is a big deal. One of
only three players in NHL history to have a forty
point Yeah, have a forty point postseason. You can't take
that away from him. The only thing that I think
(17:29):
you can be a little bit critical of Connor McDavid
for is that in both of the games Game seven
of last year in Game six of this year, I
thought he was a little passive, particularly last year where
they only lost two to one and he only put
up two shots, and this year in Game six I
thought it wasn't always his fault he was a minus
four and put up two shots. But also in the
(17:51):
last two Stanley Cup finals combine, he has eighteen points
and thirteen games and several great performances. It's just it's
it's it's unforse. I would agree with both of you
that it's more about what's around him and what Florida
does to Edmonton than it is to a Connor McDavid,
because I think he's quickly becoming the greatest American team
(18:12):
sport athlete to not win a championship. I still would
put Barry Bonds ahead of him for now. But the
fact that Connor McDavid actually has, like his version, his
sports version of a finals MVP, which is the con
Smythe that's that's pretty telling of what is of how
Connor McDavid has thought, because he deserved the con Smyth.
(18:32):
Last year, nobody on Florida really separated themselves. And this year,
of course, Connor McDavid's postseason wasn't quite as good, and
of course Sam Bennett did something historic. It's just I
do feel for Connor McDavid big time and I do.
Speaker 4 (18:45):
Oh, go ahead, one more thing.
Speaker 12 (18:46):
And if you really watch like a lot of Florida's goals,
you'll realize how bad the defense is for the Oilers.
How many turnovers that Bouchard or Walman had that to
direct high quality scoring chances. And when you look at
the other side and you look at Florida, there's just
not that that just doesn't happen. Florida is so good
(19:10):
with the puck. They're so good at choking you out.
And when they do get a chance to have the
puck and get the puck out of the zone, they do,
and they get it out every time. That's what a
really good team does, and that's why Florida won this championship.
Speaker 6 (19:20):
Absolutely, that first turnover that really set the tone. That
Bouchard turnover that led to a Reinhardt easy goal was
just egregious. And from that moment, it's like, all right,
it's over. Florida's gonna ambush them, and that's exactly what
they did.
Speaker 4 (19:32):
Hey, guys, are you know after what you saw last
night and the asked races that we have for the
Detroit Red Wings, how are you feeling about them? Because
we're gonna get to what We're Pistons segment. We're gonna
talk about how we're feeling about the Pistons as this playoffs,
this this NBA Playoffs and Finals has played out, because
they're pretty close to some of these teams that we've seen,
including the Pacers now planning for a title. But I
(19:55):
gotta ask you, guys, your perspective and your outlook for
the Red Wings after seeing this finals.
Speaker 6 (19:59):
I'll tell you what they are. They are an entire
planet away from Florida, damn. In terms of the way
that they play and in terms of top end talent.
They're an entire planet away from Edmonton. Hopefully, and we're
gonna talk about this more on Woodward Wings and hopefully
throughout the off season on this show. Maybe they can
poach one of those Florida players, like bring aaronek led home.
(20:22):
I want that more now than ever. You've got two cups, man,
you got two cups. You don't need to prove it.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
You guys talked about that.
Speaker 6 (20:31):
And I know Chase would come in here really excited
if the if the Red Wings got a Sam Bennett,
which the more I watched him this postseason, the more
overpaying from him doesn't seem so bad. I was against
it before. Now I'm like, maybe you gotta do it.
Speaker 5 (20:45):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (20:45):
I just ma, it's it's the Red Wings. They're not close.
Speaker 13 (20:50):
That Bennett's gonna go back to Florida.
Speaker 6 (20:52):
That's where he's And I said this on Woodward Wings
and it might even have been this show. Either way,
is that Sam Bennett. If he goes back to Florida
and keeps playing the role that he is now, he
could end up being the greatest role player in NHL history,
not one of the greatest. If they win a couple
more cups. I mean he has a con smythe for
(21:13):
crying out loud.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
And t falls. You've called this. You called the Lions
when it was time to get going. You said it
two three years ago, about three four years ago. The
Lions are serious. They're already take them seriously, gonna make
the playoffs, They're gonna win the division. And everybody thought
you were wild. I thought you were trolling on the show.
We were hosting and filling.
Speaker 5 (21:31):
In for the Heavies.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
Liberally, and you were like, no, bro, I'm really serious.
They're doing things differently. I've seen this organization up close. Person.
You called it with the Pistons, you called it with
the Tigers. Where are you at with these Red Wings.
I've seen these guys because they I'm telling you, they've
been up and down with the team as it relates
to letting their passion show. The Red Wings have been
seemingly right there the last two years, and there's a
(21:56):
lot of people in the city who are starting to
get a little anty. You gotta think there's a lot
and they should be in championship.
Speaker 7 (22:02):
You know, here's the way I look at the Red Wings.
Steve Eisman has no urgency, He has no pressure, he
has no deadline. He because he's Steve Eisman, I can
do whatever I want on my timeline. I think he
can do more. I think he should get involved in
(22:23):
a free agency. He needs to make this team tougher.
And if you want to emulate what we saw the
last couple of weeks in the Stanley Cup finals, toughness means.
Speaker 8 (22:35):
More in the playoffs than during the regular season. Wings.
Speaker 7 (22:41):
Not only are they not physically tough, man, they fall apart.
You know, something bad goes happens and they're they're done
for a couple of weeks. So now you need to
get that physical and mental toughness. And we were talking
about rats. Maybe it's time to bring some rats in here.
But I don't I don't have confidence in them from
(23:01):
this standpoint. Yes, they could make the playoffs next year,
so what and then you get your ass kicked in
the first round.
Speaker 6 (23:10):
Probably at this point, probably I can't disagree with anything
t Fuss is saying. This is a big this is
a big off season for him. It's a big off season.
You can't continue to say stagnant and unfortunately, for whatever reason,
you can pretty much set your watch to at least
the past three years, a regression that completely tanks their season,
not even a regression, just like a terrible, terrible stretch
(23:33):
of play around the trade deadline that has tanked their
last three seasons. So I can't disagree with anything.
Speaker 4 (23:38):
Maybe they can move at the trade deadline.
Speaker 5 (23:40):
I don't know.
Speaker 12 (23:40):
Maybe maybe, maybe maybe if we don't want to fall
apart in the second half, Hopefully.
Speaker 8 (23:48):
You don't have the urgency to do that.
Speaker 6 (23:50):
I understand.
Speaker 12 (23:52):
Well, pressure comes from a couple of ways, and the
one way it's not coming is from above. And that's
the only person who's actually gonna listen to So I
don't know what you want us to do it, Darry.
Speaker 8 (24:01):
You can bitch about it. You know he's gonna say, so.
Speaker 6 (24:04):
What we're gonna do. We're gonna do our part, though,
and hopefully the fact that the Red Wings actually didn't
have that linear point progression gives them urgency to have
a more effective off season. But uh, go ahead, Chase.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
I mean the fact that, like some people are just
now realizing how far away this team really is from
not only like getting it, just getting in the playoffs,
but like competing and being competitive for a chance to
make a run in the playoffs, Like there's no way
in hell. Steve Eisenman is just now realizing this as well.
And so like the lack of like urgency and pressure,
(24:38):
I think it's just him not forcing any hands. And
there isn't like a one trick, like you know, you
need to tear down the drywall and just put in
a whole new ball, Like you can't just patch up
all these holes and issues. So that's what's going on,
and like it's there's not like this one fix. It's
gonna be this tough, arduous process and we're already been
(24:58):
in it for six years, Almo, it sucks, but it's
gonna be a little bit longer and it's gonna continue
to suck. But eventually, you know, like he's gonna flip
this house.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
Grime and Sam playoffs or fire Stevie. Is that where
some of these fans are at.
Speaker 6 (25:13):
That's it? And you know what, I'm not gonna jump
down people's stroke for that. If you feel that way, fine,
If you feel that way, fine.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
WEZD three and three Wings fans have been waiting for
the playoff experience part where we get clapped in the
first round. Everybody's ants to get to the playoff experience.
Speaker 6 (25:31):
I still would like to see it, though, you gotta.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
See it at the very least. But it's crazy because
I'm telling you the belief that I heard t Fause
speak about with the other three teams. You've covered all
these teams for a long time. You've seen the perspective,
you've seen the shifts for him to be like, yeah,
it'll make the playoffs, but yeah, like all the other
three teams, it was about the belief in the foundation
they were building. And that was even if the Pistons
(25:53):
coming off of historical crap. Bro So That's what to me,
as a fan who much more casual today and I
used to be back in the day, I still want
to see this team get there, But I do have
some part of me wonders, is that even enough? I
feel like you have to with six years, with the waiting,
with fans at least wanting some type of payoff. I
(26:14):
feel like you at least got.
Speaker 8 (26:15):
To get there.
Speaker 6 (26:15):
Well, this is and I think we're all in agreeance
on this, and a chase really kind of a road
that home is that when it comes like, would anybody
be shocked if the Lions win the Super Bowl this year?
Would anybody be shocked if the Tigers win the World
Series this year? Would anybody be shocked if the Pistons
make one move and it makes them Eastern Conference contenders?
(26:36):
At least with the Red Wings, there's there's no pathway
to them being like contenders, contenders over the next couple
of years.
Speaker 12 (26:45):
Right in the next couple of years, you got to okay,
all right, all right, I understand if you want to
say that next year they're not going to be ready,
because it's a good chance they're not, and they should
be just trying to make the playoffs next year, but
the year after. If you already have a playoff team
infrastructure and your team is as young as the Redmans
will be, there.
Speaker 13 (27:06):
Should be a move.
Speaker 12 (27:08):
That you can make, and not this offseason, but the
next offseason that should be able to elevate you. If
you truly can get over the hump and get into
the playoffs this year, then you are in a position
where in two years you can make that move that
will put you over the top. But you have to
get there first. You have to make those moves to
get to that point. And that's when we need. This
offseason from Steve Eiserman is to bring people in to
(27:31):
reinforce this roster to a point where they can make
the playoffs and not have these slumps towards the end
of the season like they have the last three years.
Speaker 8 (27:38):
Yeah, real, what do you know? You're right?
Speaker 7 (27:41):
But do you still hear the same bolster from Steve Eisman.
I'm gonna do it the right way. I'm not gonna
cut corners, you know, We're just gonna do this methodically.
Speaker 4 (27:52):
Look, you got the Eiserman supporters in the jack Kiazi. Okay, Well,
if we fire Stevie, I want some people, those same
people to say or to me, who should we pick
up instead of Stevie exactly says this. Anyone that says
playoffs or bus for Stevie simply doesn't know hockey and
is putting other sports expectations and timelines on a hockey team,
(28:12):
which isn't how it works in the NHL at all. Grommet,
it's deeper than Stevie, but he's a sacrifice playoffs for Bucks,
so he doesn't necessarily believe that it is a Stevie issue,
but he does believe that ultimately Stevie might play the
pay the piper. But you got some people in here
who are supportive of the timeline of the work end
of Stevie want.
Speaker 7 (28:32):
I would ask this person this question, what was the
last time the Wings made the playoffs?
Speaker 8 (28:37):
So it is a playoffs for long time?
Speaker 6 (28:39):
Go ahead? Chase four.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
I agree with what Justin was talking about as far
as like being competitive in this next season. I think
this whole vote to focus on the next season should
be shoring up the defense, controlling the things you can control,
and not creating mistakes in your own end and giving
up easy opportunities to teams that put yourself in holes
early in games or late that let teams come back.
But and then once you have the middle of a
(29:02):
bit more of a foundation built on defense, then in
the twenty twenty sixth free agency class, when like, you know,
instead of lighting money on fire and overpaying Mitch Marner
this offseason, I think like making some smart sandpaper type
moves this year, just finding some like gritty guys like
I said, like I would be cool with Aaron ek
Lad And then you know, uh, maybe a bottom six forward.
I know we have quite a few of those, but
(29:23):
you know, a middle six forward maybe instead, just to
like chore up that second and third line. Somebody a
little bit more reliable than Comfort and cop have been
at least health wise over the last couple of seasons.
And then looking at the stars, you know, more or
less to become available in twenty twenty six, that's where
you should be targeting, trying to find somebody like, uh,
you know who would have been like like McKinnon McDavid.
Speaker 11 (29:45):
Off the top of my head, those are two of
the bigger names.
Speaker 13 (29:46):
If David's available in the cars available that there are throw.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Superstars people are beginning in twenty six and that's where
you should be honestly looking to like add some serious
talent to this team. If you're not able to draft
somebody or a trade for somebody, you can possibly sign
somebody to a big contract in twenty twenty six.
Speaker 12 (30:04):
I do think there has to be a move for
top six forward though there is no reason that you
should be going into this next season with someone like
Soderbloc playing on your first line with Larkin and Raymond.
You need someone to fill that role, whether it doesn't
even have to be a top of the line guy,
but you need someone who can go in there and
can produce sixty to eighty points on that first line.
(30:26):
And then you're right, Chase, you need a d and
possibly a goalie. Yeah, you are probably four to five
players away from being Well's close.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Stick contending, because would you expect I do just think
people are gonna expect Casper to take that bump up
to the first line, and then, you know, if you
just have somebody to supplement where he was in the
middle more or less than like the second and third line,
you know, I think that kind of gets you close
to where you want to be more or less. Obviously,
if you can get like another top six forward that'd
be better. But I don't think it's something you have to,
like I said, go like overpay for or maybe.
Speaker 13 (30:55):
I don't think you have to overpay for it.
Speaker 12 (30:57):
I think there's plenty of budget options that are out
there that are for good prices for low contracts. Like
there's the Penguins who have Racal and Rust, two guys
who are almost a point per game who are gonna
cost you nothing to get. So I think that there's
a lot of options out there to bring in a
top line forward. It's just it's gonna be doing it
in the Steve Eisman way, which is gonna be finding
a way that is low risk, low term, and probably
(31:19):
an older veteran that some team's trying to get rid of,
like a Ruster Raquel.
Speaker 6 (31:22):
It's gonna be interesting, and I think we can all
agree that to whatever plan Chase mentioned, Aaron eck Blad,
we've all been high on Aaroneck bled Aironeck bled alone
would do wonders, not enough, I'd still like more, but
I think Aaron eckled alone could could maybe propel this
team into the playoffs and greatly help the PK. But
a team that doesn't need as much help as the
(31:44):
Red Wings right now, but could probably use a little bit.
At the deadline. Detroit Tigers got back on track a bit,
and we're going to uh absolutely gotta throw those on.
We gotta gonna break down Game one of the series
against the Pittsburgh Pirates. But first, JB. Smooth tell us
about mad Packs.
Speaker 11 (32:02):

And you know what, Tigers do. You give us an
occasion again to wear these victory shades with a seventy
three wins over the Pittsburgh Pirates, a team that we
thought would not just be there, get right or get back,
but we thought it would be the return of some runs.
And we see the nine eighty seven runs start on
by Uh, you know I saw it in the chat.
I'm gonna just do it for the people. Hobby Harvey,
(36:07):
Harvey Harvey new Hip Hobby Man.
Speaker 6 (36:11):
Yeah, and Pikes back. You know what, I I was
actually gonna save Hobby for last. But I'll just start
with with a Hobby Bias because he had two home
runs last night. I know that A it's gonna make
Neil rule.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
I'm seeing the all Star point into the test.
Speaker 6 (36:26):
Well, here's the thing. Before yesterday, I thought the All
Star talk was a little bit overblown. However, Hobby Bias
his OPS is seven ninety eight. If he can get
it over eight hundred and maintain that, I'm not saying
that I'm going to pound the table, Hobby must be
an All Star. But at that point, I can't even
(36:47):
deny what I'm seeing. He's had a resurgent year. He
after a bit of a slump, He's rebounded in the
biggest way. In the month of June, Hobby Bias has
a three forty average and a nine thirty seven O.
The dude is absolutely raking, and as Nick Koloff said
yesterday in his roundup shout Out the best Tigers beat
(37:08):
reporter around, he's one of the he says, the best
story in baseball. I would say, one of the best
stories in baseball. But he has absolutely had a resurgent year,
and at this point, if you're if you're saying Hobby
bias for the All Star team. I'm not going to
fight you on that. Seven ninety eight ops best wins
above replacement on the team for a positional player. He's
(37:28):
had a spectacular, spectacular year and last night was one
of his best moments of the season.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
Man, look at the chat right now, grammet operation l Mago.
That's as Taga Gramanov says, Olmgo is back. We've seen
that a few times this year. Greg hove is fifth
and All Star voting playing in the outfield, Exavier D.
Hovey equals All Star. It's so much Hobby love right now.
You know who've hearted probably the most true statement about Hovey.
Speaker 6 (37:55):
El Mogo has or uh no, or it doesn't exist.
Speaker 4 (37:59):
But it's a to like this Tigers team, despite all
of the fickleness of baseball, they still find a way
to pull it through. That's what I love like Because
we were just sitting there talking about, oh, I remember Nil,
oh what happens to Hobby? What happened to your guys? Savior,
because we went through a little bit of a slump.
But it's proving to me that these guys have that
(38:19):
no equip mentality. This wasn't just about having a cute season.
This wasn't about just proving, oh, I can go through
a stretch or proving I have this or I have that.
Hovey looks like to me a guy who not only
is just is performing at almost or at an all
star level, but he's a guy who's willing to do
everything that the team is asking him to do, no
matter the position and no matter whether they put him
(38:40):
in a batting lined up. This guy's continued to keep
himself ready. And we know how fickle baseball is, he's
continued to be somebody consistent. You go through those ups
and downs in baseballs, you go through some of those
times where you see some of those slumps. But for
this guy to still be one of those bats in
a lineup, I think that's impressive for a Tiger's team
that's still controlling their destiny as so, the best team
(39:00):
in baseball, best team in an Ale, best team in.
Speaker 6 (39:03):
The Central absolutely, I mean. And while the Matts and
the Yankees are slumping, you just hate to see it,
the Tigers continue to maintain their strangleholder on the best
record in baseball. And the thing with Hobby Baia is
just a one more quick thing on him. The ebbs
and flows of a baseball season. Everybody in this room
understands it. You're gonna go through slumps. And Hobby Bayez,
(39:25):
following that magical game against Boston in which he hit
two home runs and the walk off, he did go
through a bit of a slump. But the reason why
I never came in here and really killed him for
it or gave him too much flack, is that his
numbers overall remained respectable and relatively good. I know that
(39:45):
as OPS at its worst since that big game dipped
to seven thirteen and seven thirteen year in danger of
getting into the sixes. And that's where we can start
having a conversation. But Hobby Bayaz, he this is how
you know it's different this year. He didn't continue that slung.
He's rebounded with a stretch in the last five games
(40:06):
because he's nine of eighteen a five hundred batting average,
with three home runs, four RBIs and most surprisingly of all,
three walks on base. Hobby is back.
Speaker 4 (40:17):
Heyton, New York.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
Game time should be afforded.
Speaker 4 (40:31):
Opportunity all stars.
Speaker 6 (40:36):
I mean, right now, I would say Riley Green Torque
has a chance Glabor Torres I think will probably start
at second, Trek Scoogle probably a bullpen guy, to maybe
will Vester Canley. I think they could get five.
Speaker 4 (40:51):
I know that, uh, we predicted aggressively as a as
a crew that this amount a great shot to get
six All Stars.
Speaker 6 (40:57):
I mean, Hobby if he maintains that he could be into.
Speaker 4 (41:00):
That, and they're going to have an opportunity to get
it done. That's what's incredible about this team right now.
Even if even the guys that we know are worthy
that might not make the team, there's still gonna be
players that we know are gonna have this huge impact
going forward in this season. That's what I love about
guys like Adylan Dingler, And I know, you know, he
(41:20):
might be one of those guys who is on the
fence on the line as well, but we already know
who he is to the Detroit Tigers, and that to
me is what ultimately matters. I want to see all
of our guys as Detroit kol A get everything that
they deserve, but also understand the politics of All Star
Games and the politics of baseball. For the Tigers to
have as many representations as it seems like they're going
to skate into going up from two last year to
(41:41):
probably a sure fire for like at this point that
we're saying, can we say it's a guarantee for Tigers
should make the All Star Game?
Speaker 6 (41:48):
I would say if they maintained their level of play, yeah,
I think it's a pretty much guarantee.
Speaker 4 (41:53):
Peak at six Yeah.
Speaker 6 (41:55):
I mean, here's the thing. I think Rayley Green is
close to a shoe in barring a prolonged slump. Because
there's still some time before the All Star Break, anything
can happen. I think Hobby Bayas will have to maintain
this hot stretch, maybe not be as hot as he's
been the last five games, but he can't slump or
else he won't make it. I think the same goes
(42:15):
for Torque. Torque's numbers are fantastic. He has an eight
thirty five OPS. He's near the top in a bunch
of stats like home runs and RBIs when it comes
to ale first baseman, but he just he can't have
a prolonged slump. That's pretty much I think how it
goes with almost any Tiger positional player. I think Glaber
Torres is pretty safe because second base is kind of
(42:37):
weak in the al. The second closest is Jackson Holiday,
and even though Jackson Holiday is finally starting to actualize
that potential, the Baltimore Orioles, although they've been playing better lately,
are still pretty darn irrelevant. I if I'm just crystal
ball flannel, I think the Tigers will ultimately get five.
That's my prediction right now is five.
Speaker 4 (42:58):
I like that, you know, I think it will be
appropriate for this Detroit Tigers team, and hopefully it's something
that spurs this team on the rest of the season.
I know that there's been some weird module around All
Star breaks for some teams, and include the Tigers in
the past, but I believe that this is a team
that's proven to be largely nothing has been able to
slow them down. Not slumps, not to some of their
(43:20):
star players, their hitters, their pitchers, not the bullpen kind
of going through it. We've been able to sit back
and criticize parts of this team while they's still been
the best record in baseball, and we can see it,
and I think that sometimes we might overreact a little
bit because we saw how last year went and we
see how closest team is now. It's not just us
here conjecturing that this team could have you know, three, four, five,
(43:43):
maybe six All Star players. It's not us just conjecturing
that they probably have more guys that are putting up
that type of effort who probably won't make it. It's
not just us who's sitting here saying that this team
is a World Series squad this year and for the future,
and that they're gonna aggressively attack the trade deadline. This
is Scott Harrison, this stuff. This is the organization stating
(44:04):
we are a World Series organization from the older down,
no matter what people laughed at, no matter what people believe.
Last year, Illiz stood up there and said, we're a
playoff team. We know we have what we need and
if not, we will get it. Right as they approach
the trade deadline, they stated, we know we gotta do
to effectively get the players in here to make this run.
And at the time it did not seem like possible
(44:24):
or plausible. It literally took a best team in baseball
run for the Tigers to make the playoffs and after
that trade deadline. But now you hear this team continuing
to back up the vibrado and talk big, and that
to me is I think way more than company. It
gets me beyond fired up when your organization is not
just stating what the goal is, they're stating what their
(44:45):
team is. We are a World Series contender.
Speaker 7 (44:47):
And here's the thing you gotta look out for. Do
they actually do something. If this team does not trade
for a bat or trade for a bullpen arm, they're
not gonna go.
Speaker 8 (45:01):
To the World Series. They will not go.
Speaker 7 (45:04):
But if they want to, if they want to be
serious about this, then you do something.
Speaker 4 (45:10):
I want to hear a fin said, Let's let's take
a quick one. Let's say what up done to some friends?
All right, and let's get back, because is that I
know we're all happy about All Star break, but that
also means trade deadlines right around the corner, and that
means that that's probably gonna be That's the That's the
most pivotal question right there. I believe personally on the
other side of where you are, that this team does
(45:32):
have enough. You believe that they don't. I want to
hear what planets say when we get back, but uh,
what friends? We gotta say? What up? Though? Is it
a planet fitness.

Wake up bo with your back chat family to smashed
that like button. Let's get to that. Let go today
and run it up. Thank you guys for being here,
for supporting the wool crew. I know we got the
legend Rob Beard, who would be joining us today for
a few segments, so we're gonna have a double dash
of legends, T False and Rob Beard. But t False,
you posed this question before we went to break of
(49:46):
You believe that if the Tigers do not make a
move at the trade deadline, that they're not going to
win or even make it to the World Series.
Speaker 7 (49:53):
That is correct it and it's not a oh well,
they don't have enough.
Speaker 4 (49:58):
I believe this.
Speaker 7 (49:59):
Teams who are serious it's about championships make moves during
the regular season. You got some pushback in a chat
because Nicholas duncans his best record in the league, but
they don't.
Speaker 4 (50:09):
Have enough, lol, And he's those a couple of times
here and again, I'm not saying you don't have enough,
but you need something fresh.
Speaker 7 (50:18):
Every team, just about every team that makes wins a
championship makes moves.
Speaker 4 (50:24):
Florida Panthers made moves during the regular season.
Speaker 7 (50:28):
Yankees make moves doing the regular season, and they're always loaded.
But you need somebody fresh in the lineup. And the
other thing is you need to be forward thinking. When
you get to the playoffs, and especially if you get
to the World Series, you're not gonna be facing scrubs
on the pitching mount. It's only gonna be the best
(50:48):
of the best, and there's gonna be fewer runs.
Speaker 5 (50:53):
Defense.
Speaker 7 (50:53):
Sorry, Flannel, but defense is more important during this time,
and so the game is different.
Speaker 6 (51:02):
No, And I think Terry philosophically is right on the
money because we know that the Yankees are gonna make
are gonna try to make moves. We know that even
a team like the Houston Astros are going to make moves.
Even some teams in the wild Card race, like the
Blue Jays for example, could make moves. It's I think something.
Speaker 4 (51:21):
Central was just gonna sit there and take this beating.
Speaker 6 (51:23):
I mean, it depends because maybe by then they're all
out of it and I want to sell seriously, the
Central has turned into just like a complete like Dog
Duke Division right now. But I think another key for
the Tigers is Parker Meadow's getting hot, because he's been
really slumping at the plate since he's came back. But
if Parker Meadows can get hot, if Matt Vierling can
(51:46):
get back and play at the level that he did
last year, and then Tray Sweeney can be relegated more
to a bench utility role. I think this lineup can
still be really, really damn good. But it doesn't hurt
to go out there and try to get somebody else
to try to get another horm.
Speaker 4 (52:02):
Let's ask uh, let's get Rob Beard uh in on
the show right now. Shout out to Rod Beard, senior
sports editor at the Atlanta General Constitution. Shout out to
my brother back on the show. Hit us up last week,
had some meetings and such, you guys. Sorry, no big
dog on campus out there, mayor Rob Beard. But back
with the brothers this week, and you know I got
(52:24):
through a question right over to you. Uh te Fosse
he believes that the Detroit Tigers not only will they
not within it, they won't even get to a World
Series if they do not make a move at the
trade demine.
Speaker 19 (52:37):
Listen to Tee Foss win in doubt, listen to Tee Foss.
Speaker 4 (52:41):
There you go.
Speaker 5 (52:42):
I think.
Speaker 19 (52:43):
I think the other part of the deal is that
you have to stop the other teams from getting a
big piece. So sometimes, like Terry said, you make a
move just to make a move. But the other part
of that is, hey, we don't want the Yankees to
get this person, or we don't want the Dodgers to
upgrade at that position.
Speaker 4 (52:59):
Uh.
Speaker 19 (53:00):
And if it can help you, then you go out
and make a move to add some new blood, as
he said.
Speaker 5 (53:05):
But then also just to make sure you have enough.
Speaker 19 (53:08):
You don't want to get to the playoffs and you
get an injury and somebody's out for a day or
two or something like that. You just want to make
sure that you have the strongest roster possible at the
positions where you need to have all of that depth
and pitching. You just can never have enough pitching. And
if you go out there and you get somebody who's
gonna strengthen your rotation and make it where you can
(53:29):
pitch Schooble every three days and feel comfortable in those
days when Schooble's not pitching, go do it.
Speaker 4 (53:34):
Yeah, And you know what, Steve o'baby in the chat
agrees with Terry, and Roddy says, I agree with him,
kool Aid. Just because you have a good record doesn't
guarantee you will win a World Series.
Speaker 5 (53:44):
You want proof.
Speaker 4 (53:45):
Oh this hurts. As the lines there were fifteen and two, Terry,
I agree with you. You got some support there, right, And.
Speaker 7 (53:52):
We thought the Lions were a little passive too, that
they could have been more aggressive. See there's teams who
are serious about this, and there's is like, ah, we're good,
we will make it.
Speaker 4 (54:03):
Bob, don't don't be like that. Now.
Speaker 7 (54:05):
Let me quote sports fans who always say this, when
you got somebody down, put your foot on their neck.
Detroit Tigers put your foot on the rest of the
league's neck.
Speaker 4 (54:20):
I like the sounds of it. No.
Speaker 6 (54:24):
I that is, they got the best record in the
in the American League. They're in the position where they
can put the foot on neck and maybe steal someone
away that the Yankees wanted. But Rod Beard, I want
to ask you about a couple of the players that
the Tigers have now and are playing very, very well.
This is a two part question. One do you think
(54:45):
at the end of the year Riley Green gets any
MVP votes? And two does Hove Bayas sneak his way
into the All Star Game?
Speaker 7 (54:59):
I think we know the wait.
Speaker 19 (55:04):
I was waiting for just the mention of Hobby Bias
when everybody wanted to put him on a spaceship and
send him off of this planet.
Speaker 5 (55:14):
That we're talking about him in.
Speaker 19 (55:16):
Any kind of positive contributing way is just is crazy work.
It's crazy to be talking about hobby bias, especially not
at shortstop. And the arguments were, well, I mean maybe
defensively shortstop, he can just leave him in the lineup
and he'll hit something sometime. He just won't swing at
things in the left of batters box. He's been a
(55:38):
fine for them. And you talk about the trade deadline.
Some of that is you got another hitter that you
didn't expect to have in hobby bias. It may not
be every single day, but in a lot of clutch situations,
he's come through and he's won a couple of games
for you. Oh and the defense and center.
Speaker 5 (55:53):
Field, good god, like.
Speaker 19 (55:57):
This is mad libs. You're putting words together that don't
long together. Hove, you bia, center field. Those two things
anywhere in the outfield don't go together. Why are we
talking about this because he's he's done that.
Speaker 5 (56:07):
Well, give me the.
Speaker 19 (56:10):
First part again, because I'm I'm so overwhelmed by the
second part.
Speaker 6 (56:14):
No, I was, I was just gonna say they've done that.
I know this is a loaded question. I know the
season isn't even halfway over. But this is more speaking
to what I believe are his improvements. And if you
feel this way too, by the end of the season,
does Riley Green get any al MVP votes?
Speaker 5 (56:34):
Sure? Yeah, there there will be right now two there
will be MVP.
Speaker 19 (56:42):
Yeah. I mean, even if they have the best record,
there will be people who just unanimously want Aaron Judge
to win it. So there might be a handful here
or there, but I mean, this is Aaron Judge to show.
Speaker 5 (56:54):
Unless something catastrophic happens, Aaron.
Speaker 6 (56:57):
Judge should be unanimous what a season he's having. But
unfortunately the Yankees are still looking up at the Tigers
in the standings and you just love you just love
to see it.
Speaker 4 (57:07):
Yeah, you absolutely love to see it. And the Tigers
right now put an absolute BTA. But you know, we
talked about something yesterday with the Detroit Lions and it was,
as it relates as a Darius Smith, we had this
kind of roller coaster of emotions where you have big
z SAand you know, I'm a sound with the Lions soon,
and then you have Brad Holmes who talks about the
defensive line in that room, effectively being complete. Where are
(57:31):
you're saying right now? When you look at the Detroit
Lions and that and their defensive line, it's got to
be one of the strengths of this team.
Speaker 5 (57:39):
It's a strength.
Speaker 19 (57:40):
But the same conversation, go get more help. You don't
know about injuries. Those things just crop up, and we
saw that certainly last year.
Speaker 5 (57:47):
Go we get more help. Just go get people.
Speaker 19 (57:50):
You're never gonna be criticized for having too much talent
at any position. Maybe quarterback is the only one, but
you would have a good backup. Go get more guys
and worry about the money later. Worry about the perceptions later.
But if you feel like you want to have depth
and strong, consistent depth at the position, just go get guys.
Speaker 5 (58:09):
Worry about the rest of it later. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (58:10):
And I asked that because a lot of the people
who believe that the Lions, of course are going to
win the NFC North, the MISLO NFC North, they don't
believe that this is a squad that's going to really
measure up against the tops of the NFC or in
the NFL. And they mentioned things like taking a step
back on the defensive line, offensive line potentially, they're mentioned
things they taking a step back as it relates to
(58:32):
having two new coordinators, but I do believe that that
is the ultimate shot of disrespect out of Dan Campbell,
who has continued to make the right moves personnel wise.
There were times when they had to rely on a
bunch of players on rookie contracts and they still got
it done. To the tune of those guys getting paid
right now and Dan Campbell in this offense, I believe
that a lot of people are overdoing how much the
(58:55):
Lions offense could suffer or take a step back, because
Dan Campbell's the one who brought this from his predecessors,
from the places he's pir been, and so I wanted
to be able to gaze that with you. How overbronged
do you believe this is? I think that as long
as you have Dan Campbell and him leading this ship,
that this team is not actually going to experience any
type of a step back. I don't mean record wise,
(59:16):
could they have a worse record than last year, sure,
but as it relates to being one of your top
teams in the NFC and in the NFL, I believe
as long as you have Dan Campbell, the Lions are
going to be in that mix.
Speaker 19 (59:29):
Yeah, I think so too, And I think it's setting
the standard and setting the culture that the players are
going to embody a lot of that, and the new
coaches coming in they understand the assignment. They know, Hey,
this is what the team did last year in the
year before, and there is a standard that's been set
of what this offense needs to do. Because the pieces
are there and you're having that internal growth that Jamo
is going to get better as long as golf doesn't
(59:50):
take any kind of steps back. You know what sun
God has. You know your backfield is going to improve
a little bit too. So all of that is there,
but there may be some short term steps back in
terms of record. They may lose, and we went through
the schedule a little bit before. There may be some
games that they lose that you don't think they're gonna lose.
But at the same time, overall, when you get to
(01:00:12):
the playoffs, do you feel like you have the pieces
in place to win a game or two in the playoffs? Absolutely,
and that's where you need to be. It doesn't matter
whether you're going in the playoffs at thirteen and four
or eleven and five. You might have to play an
additional game, and we saw the value of that. There
are no guarantees even though you're the number one seed.
Are you playoff ready and do you have the depth
to be able to go through and win some games
(01:00:33):
there if you need to?
Speaker 4 (01:00:34):
Now you're preaching on that. We got legend of legend
talk right now. T Fosse.
Speaker 5 (01:00:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:00:39):
I think in this town we like to panic, and
so people are panicking.
Speaker 4 (01:00:46):
With the Lions everything. They lost, the coordinators, the center.
Speaker 7 (01:00:53):
What I don't think people are focusing enough on what
the Lions game for next year. Uh, like an entire
defense and you know, Pennay Sewell will be better, the
sun God will be better.
Speaker 4 (01:01:10):
I don't think Jared Golf is going.
Speaker 7 (01:01:12):
To panic as a quarterback and throw four or five
interceptions because he knows his defense is better. So those
are things I think the Lions have gained and I
think they're gonna make a playoff run next year.
Speaker 5 (01:01:29):
Oh let me jump in there. Let me let me
jump in real quick.
Speaker 19 (01:01:34):
Because we go back and forth between fans being in
panic mode and fans being in holier than Thou mode
of its super Bowl or bust. That is a ridiculous.
And I said this at the time last year too.
That is a ridiculous attitude to take. Even if you
(01:01:55):
make the NFC Championship that it's still the Chiefs, it's
still the Eagles. Until you really beat one of those teams,
then you haven't really made that point, that step where
you can say it's Super bowld or bust. I mean,
that's I like the fan base to be in panic
mode because you can dismiss some of the ridiculous stuff
that they say, but to be in the arro against
sort of we're in championship mode and it's super Bowl
(01:02:19):
or bust. I've never liked that because you have to
win a super Bowl before you get to that super
Bowl or bust mentality.
Speaker 4 (01:02:26):
Crazy clown, says Rod I agree, Keyazi says, Detroit sports
fans are always panicking. Hey, you know what, there might
be some truth to that. I don't take that away,
and I do believe it's because of some of the
swings we've seen of these teams. We get a taste
of that championship, we get a taste of those eras,
and then it got taken away from us.
Speaker 5 (01:02:45):
For so long.
Speaker 4 (01:02:46):
Across the board, like all of our squads now all
of a sudden, it's being injected back all at once.
Would we used to joke about this stuff like, oh,
all four sports tears or woo were wouldn't it be awesome?
They made the playoffs and then all of a sudden,
so whoa, all of these teams are starting to make
the playoffs and we got the Red Wings just a
whisker away. Hopefully they get this thing done. And I
think that that mixed right that there, how fast this
(01:03:09):
thing is gone. They were just yelling sell the team bro.
Now they're out buying the jerseys and trying to get
the season tickets. And I think that that mixed right
there is probably what has people a little bit angsty
and a little bit in that panic mode because think
about how long it's been since championships in the city.
Speaker 5 (01:03:25):
So I do I do.
Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
I think that there's an era of people who have
never seen it, who only hear the stories and want it,
and then you got the people who've seen it, and
you realize, man, we're close, we're close. And I do
I think it sends people into a little bit of
that panic. And that's why we've been having a discussion
the last couple years about we got to learn how
to be fans of. At one point, it was just
the lines. We were saying this of a team with
Super Bowl experience, you know, expectations. Now we're stepping into
(01:03:51):
an era where we have two and three teams to
have championship expectation. But let me say this, say the
word super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (01:03:59):
Say it.
Speaker 7 (01:04:00):
Don't be afraid, don't be scared, because I used to
go into the locker room all the time. This used to
bug the hell out of me. You talk to players
and they said, oh, we can win some football games.
Everybody can win football games. The Jets can win football games,
the Bears can win football games. See I mean to me,
that's nothing. And the word everyone was always afraid to
(01:04:23):
say with the fan base and in that locker room
was super Bowl or championships. Say it, be loud and proud.
Speaker 4 (01:04:33):
We're there now. Huh yeah, we're there now.
Speaker 6 (01:04:36):
Playing We're there? Yeah for sure.
Speaker 4 (01:04:38):
All right, Look, we got another segment with the legend
Rod Beard, because we gotta go over awesome because we
got our Pistons dignitaries Rod and t False who did
great jobs covering uh pluck those sports teams and a lot
of people know what you guys did in the Pistons
community too, and so we gotta get back to this
free agency this offseason for them drafters right around the corner,
(01:04:59):
moves already being made. The magic struck, and we got
to talk about where this place is, the Pistons and
the grand scheme of things. And there's some people who
believe we should shake up our our approach to off season.
So if we can get to it, we got some
of you guys's comments. Continue to put the comments in.
The comments have been crazy. I think the comments have
been up almost like two hundred percent since we've been
(01:05:19):
telling people we're gonna be looking at your comments and
feature in here right on the show. So continue to
send in what you guys believe should be done. If
you think we're idiots, continue to tell us that too,
continue to tell us that because Rob, we're not balling
overs rod T Fowson, Flannel and the rest of the
Will crew. But let's say it up down to some
friends and get back to a Woover Piston second with
the legend, Rob Beard and.

like button. Look, even Flannel is smiling. If you can
smile on his face. I'll do anything for that. That's
why you must push the like button. Please don't do
(01:10:39):
it for me, do it for the young fellas around here.
Speaker 4 (01:10:43):
Bro, you guys got cracking up.
Speaker 7 (01:10:45):
Hey, Rod, I got a request for you.
Speaker 4 (01:10:53):
Rid Tell them to stop calling you a legend. You
know what I mean. This means your ass is old.
Speaker 7 (01:11:00):
Now I'm old you still you're still a young guy.
Speaker 4 (01:11:05):
Don't take that.
Speaker 5 (01:11:10):
At too, Terry.
Speaker 19 (01:11:12):
At two, I thought we were immune from caressing the
like button in a certain way.
Speaker 5 (01:11:18):
But this is this is wild behavior. Y'all got teeth bast.
Speaker 4 (01:11:23):
Oh there, and man, this is all new to me too.
Speaker 5 (01:11:26):
So I'm just trying.
Speaker 4 (01:11:27):
I'm just doing I just do what I'm told.
Speaker 6 (01:11:30):
Disappointed nothing worse than being disappointed.
Speaker 11 (01:11:38):
They're not satisfied. Satisfied the like Butndon in Atlanta.
Speaker 5 (01:11:50):
Okay, yeah, I can't do.
Speaker 4 (01:12:00):
Was got what?
Speaker 19 (01:12:01):
Speaking speaking of pistols, do we speak about the piston?
Speaker 4 (01:12:09):
Hey on Wednesdays, Rod Terry said, do we speak about
the piston? Rod taking away with at least Rod missed
the ball story earlier today.
Speaker 19 (01:12:23):
Oh yeah, hopefully that's LaMelo ball and not something different.
Speaker 5 (01:12:30):
But okay, it is not. I'm sorry, it is not
LaMelo ball. It couldn't. It just couldn't be.
Speaker 19 (01:12:40):
People talked about the the OKC Thunder years ago like
they were a lost franchise.
Speaker 5 (01:12:47):
And you make one trade and you get.
Speaker 19 (01:12:49):
S G A and things change, and it shows that
this league is built around stars and future superstars. And
I know people the few people who are talking about
trade K and get as much draft capital as you can,
or even now trade J and Ivy.
Speaker 5 (01:13:06):
And do that. Just be patient. Stuff comes around.
Speaker 19 (01:13:10):
But it's also that's the blueprint for building a championship
caliber franchise is get those draft picks. You're going to
be bad for a while, but you can turn that
around if you make the right draft picks, you get
enough draft capital, and you have a GM who really
understands what you're doing, and the.
Speaker 5 (01:13:28):
Pistons had that you're going. They're going through iterations of.
Speaker 19 (01:13:30):
Trying to get that right now, but it is exactly
what you want a championship rebuilt to look like.
Speaker 5 (01:13:37):
Is what the Thunder are doing right now.
Speaker 4 (01:13:39):
Man. You talk about two teams who I thought were
built to be at where they are right now, and
the Pacers and the Thunder, and you're exactly right. The
Thunder have been the model of this for some time.
And that's what made a lot of people very, very
eager and excited about the Troy Weaver experience, which didn't
net us a nice group of young players. But now
with Trades and Langdon, we have a GM and a
(01:13:59):
front office team because I don't want to disrespect the
other people that are there, because he has a dog
squad up there in the front office. With Blackstone especially
understanding this cap it's what made it the Shorer move
come to fruition in a way that was basically for
free for the business. So I do believe that now
they are primed and in a position to move this thing.
We've already seen it one year. They've aggressively moved forward.
(01:14:21):
They've done something no other team in the history of
NBA has done gone from fourteen wins to the playoffs,
and they were formidable out. They didn't just kind of
get there and say, hey, let's have a cute season.
We did something no one expected us to do. They
wanted more, and that to me is why I do believe.
You know, this is a team that is positioned in
the Eastern Conference and it's going to be a lot
(01:14:41):
of our talk today is about how fast do they
push that pedal on accelerating this rebuild, Especially when you
look at the fact that the Pacers they went and
they got Siakam. Look what they did for their team
and for Tyrese Haliburton it allows them to have his
usage rate lower. You look at what the Raptors are
doing right now. They went out and they got Brandon
Ingram for Scott Barnes, you're talking about going and getting
another You look at the Magic right now, and this
(01:15:04):
is a move that both Flannel and I. I didn't
know how he was gonna feel about it because everybody
was talking about what the Magic sent out, but this
is a move that both of us actually said, basketball wise,
this makes a lot of sense for the Magic, and
we were talking about these all disfunctioned teams. The Magic
was the one team that we said, you know what,
depending on what they do this offseason, they can actually
solidify themselves. And so I was wondering how much more
(01:15:25):
pressure does that put on the Pistons to actually try
to accelerate things this offseason.
Speaker 19 (01:15:31):
I think you have time, and again there's nobody in
the East that should be scaring you next year, so
you can go for it. But you gotta play the
long game in this, and you gotta say, how do
we do this for three or four years and make
this a sustainable run? Are the Knicks gonna be able
to keep this together? Indiana seems to be a little
bit solid, but the same thing is this smoking mirrors
(01:15:52):
with them to some degree. And again I will say
I was completely wrong about the Pacers. I thought the
Pistons would have given the Patris a good run, but
the way they had been playing throughout this postseasons doubtful.
Speaker 5 (01:16:06):
Right.
Speaker 19 (01:16:06):
But the Celtics without Jason Tatum next season, there are
opportunities for them to move ahead and really take a
step up here. So I'm not a throw everything in
and go for it. But I mentioned the thunder the
way the Pacers have built. This also is a good
note to make is that you make the Siacam trade,
(01:16:27):
you go and you get the guys that you think
are really gonna make your roster. So as a front office,
you can't be afraid to do something that's gonna shake
things up if you know that you're right. And both
of these teams have done things where it's panned out
for them and it's worked really well.
Speaker 6 (01:16:41):
Absolutely, And Rodbeard, how did you feel watching Tyrese Haliburn
have zero field goals in the finals game?
Speaker 13 (01:16:48):
You had to bring up Haliburn had to this.
Speaker 4 (01:16:51):
Is Flannel's banda flat versus Ali bro.
Speaker 19 (01:16:56):
Hey, the the clock strikes midnight on a lot of people,
and he's not the Is he playing above his level?
Speaker 5 (01:17:03):
Absolutely?
Speaker 19 (01:17:04):
He can't be that every game of this playoffs, and
and that's what he's been. There was going to be
some regression to the mean. Yes, he's injured, No he's
he's not playing at one hundred percent. But yeah, he
wasn't gonna have another thirty plus point game like he
had been having and triple doubles in the finals. Yeah,
that's that's not quite who he is. But yeah, that's
(01:17:26):
I didn't feel a certain way, but it's sort of yeah, okay, yeah,
it was bound to happen at some point.
Speaker 4 (01:17:32):
It was bound to happen.
Speaker 5 (01:17:33):
You know what.
Speaker 4 (01:17:33):
It's time to get into the Swisher Swisher break, but
I do have some other switch break points. Yeah, break
whatever your flavor, But I got some other things that
I want to just pop up here first before we
get into that. Nick Muse shout out to Nick Muse.
They were engaging with us during the playoff series, uh,
one of the bigger accounts on within nick social media,
(01:17:55):
and after this, I think that they said something that
Flannel Sam will like. They believe the two best point
guards in the Eastern conference are do you have that one? Yep,
Kay cutting in in Jayalen Bronson. And obviously right now
we got a nod and tip that cap to one
Jayalen Bronson. But I just thought that you would like
that want to be a make sure that I called
that out. Shut out to Nick's music as well, by
(01:18:17):
do you guys feel after the playoffs and everything has
gotten to this point. I do. I feel like this
is a situation where Kay is top two in the
East with a great opportunity to be considered the top
point guard after next season.
Speaker 6 (01:18:29):
I love this and throw Donovan Mitchell in there above
Tyres Halbert as well.
Speaker 4 (01:18:34):
Yeah, just as much as I'm kind of in on
Donovan Mitchell, I want one hundred percent agree with you
anyway that we can make sure that how the Burton
is further down that list, I agree. I don't even
care what it is you can say, Brandon, Brandon pan Zimski.
Oh yeah, okay, okay, okay, I'm I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Look,
we got we got it. Other one from Jake Winebock
(01:18:56):
as well was we're setting up our switcher break because
we got some good questions. You got that. I went
from Jake windbot Ye. And there's some other people who
believe this could be a potential, he says. I would
label the Pistons as one of the buyers on the
marketplace that could make a serious run at Trey Murphy
the third this season. This offseason, he tried, is ready
to take the next step in the East, and it
would have the necessary assets to build an enticing offer
(01:19:17):
for the New Orleans coveted wing. And I know that
that's a player that even before he signed that twenty
five MILI one hundred, you know mil contract, twenty five
a year over four years. Fans wanted the Pistons to
be able to pursue him. Got Trajan Langdon here And
just one more thing before we get into this. I
saw this from Piston Sock. It is Jake Fisher in
his podcast and it's what we talked about last year
(01:19:40):
as it relates to al Dama, and it's interesting now
to see. How about a week or two later, we're
starting to see national media and some other people cover
basketball started to say the same thing. If we got
that video, we'll play that real quick and then we'll
jump into our questions.
Speaker 10 (01:19:52):
Yep, we're hearing that Detroit one particular arch type of
player that they're evaluating our seven foot stretch big men.
So in addition to Miles Turner, we are on the
lookout for the Pistons to try to be a player
for nas Reed and we're definitely looking at Santi Aldama
(01:20:12):
as a potential target as well. He's a restricted free agent,
so the Pistons could, in theory put an offer sheet
on the table that would make life a little bit
tricky and annoying for the Memphis Grizzlies by comparison to
Miles Turner's unrestricted situation and the fact that nas Reed
is a player option that he has a lot of
control over, which gives him some wiggle room to have
(01:20:33):
negotiations with Minnesota before he actually would become theoretically available
as well. So if all those guys, I would handicap
it right now that Santi al Dama seems to be
the most likely player that fits that seven foot four, spacing,
sweet shooting big man archetype that Detroit has seemingly been
(01:20:54):
linked to all across the board. Here they might be
seeing an opportunity to put pressure on Memphis, and maybe
there's an opportunity for from the work with the Grizzlies
and figure out a sign trade scenario that makes sense
for both sides.
Speaker 4 (01:21:09):
Shout out to Jake Fisher. Shout out to bleacher Report
as well. You guys might know I have done and
will be actually this upcoming season doing some correspondence again
with Bleacher Report in their hoops alongside one Jeff Fire Freddy,
so be on the lookout for that. But shout out
to Jake Fisher in these comments. To me, they're like
music to my ears last week, I said, Rod Beard,
I think I'm becoming an Aldama stan the Pistons. I
(01:21:32):
believe they actually have the ability to press the gas
pedal on this one, something that I think can help
to seem a lot but won't cost them a lot.
We didn't get your thoughts on it. I wanted to
get yours on that and what Jake Fisher was talking about,
and then we'll have JB. Smooth throw the graphic cup
and get into these questions. Santil donald.
Speaker 8 (01:21:50):
Out.
Speaker 19 (01:21:50):
I'm a fan the names that we've mentioned. I'm much
more partial to even Miles Turner's and his lego playing.
Speaker 5 (01:21:57):
So notas reed.
Speaker 19 (01:22:01):
Go get it if you can get him getting But
again there's going to be a lot of competition in
that bidding. But I like Bobby Portis as my main
option there because he checks more of the boxes that
you kind of want to do, and he'll be affordable
and the bidding won't be quite as high.
Speaker 5 (01:22:20):
I don't think so time.
Speaker 4 (01:22:21):
Right as high, but Portos's numbers they are creeping up.
But they said that he's going to land. As far
as I was seeing in ten fifteen, I'm herring might
land overall value of a contract about twenty million behind
the nasried Ye Frau, And so I heard he's getting
up to where he might be maybe five to ten
million a year behind five to seven million a year
(01:22:43):
cheaper than the NONS, which I do believe is significant.
Speaker 7 (01:22:47):
But you know what, fellas, can you stand pat and
hope everybody improves?
Speaker 4 (01:22:54):
I say no, that's question number one. Yeah, hold that thought. Yeah, okay,
you know what thotographic up. Thotographic up. It is Swiss
Swiss or break. And I got some important questions here,
and I also have some off season outlook from some
of the Chat family too. So we'll go through these
(01:23:16):
questions and if we got some time, we'll get to
the chat initiated one. And I actually pulled one from
that with Tourette's from the chat today that I sent
over to jedbie'smoove. But we'll start hold those from now.
We'll start here. It's more important for Trajon Langdon to
strike this free agency then waiting till next They have
a lot of flexibility over the next two off seasons. Uh.
(01:23:38):
You we already know that Tobias and now could be
considered an expiring contract this year, but next year his
contract is completely off the books. We talk about how
fast do you push this pedal. I'm gonna start with you.
One is to find them something because there are people
out there will believe that the Pistons are gonna be
very aggressive or at least have the convect capability too.
Speaker 6 (01:23:57):
It's more important for next year.
Speaker 4 (01:23:59):
I'll go more important to strike this year rather than
wait next year.
Speaker 6 (01:24:06):
I would like them to strike this year, but I'll
go brick just because you might get a little bit
more clarity on what you have got you JB.
Speaker 4 (01:24:12):
Smooth up, though it's some brick for me.
Speaker 9 (01:24:16):
I would like them to strike this year, but I
honestly don't think that's gonna happen. I think you're going
to go through a period where you're going to try
to analyze and see what you have right now and
then move forward that next season. So prepare for another
season where no moves are gonna get made.
Speaker 4 (01:24:31):
Cause I see it. Is it more important for him
to strike this offseason or next offseason?
Speaker 3 (01:24:37):
I'll say next. I don't think you have to be
reactive to what the magic just did and force any
force a move. I mean, unless you go get like
I really like Jared Jackson junior. He becomes available, then
I think that, you know, go ahead for that move
or something something like that.
Speaker 11 (01:24:51):
But other than that, don't just go and you will.
Speaker 4 (01:24:53):
Be the two way floor stretching big that you That
would be a dream? What about you, t Fosse?
Speaker 7 (01:25:00):
That is up to the people. What are Piston fans
willing to tolerate?
Speaker 4 (01:25:04):
Uh?
Speaker 7 (01:25:05):
If they if they're going to say, Okay, we're good
with it, We're gonna be patient, then yeah, you can
wait till next year. But if the goal is to
be a championship contender, you better strike now.
Speaker 4 (01:25:19):
Who what say you, Rod Beard? In the Chatterrella Mars
says Brick Dante one five to one says Swish, Rando
Small says Swish that what Tretta says you you must
give kid Ivy a sartin during one full season together.
Speaker 5 (01:25:33):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:25:34):
But the context is that the East is wide open
right now, and the Pistons vaulted into the top four
in my opinion in the East, just based off all
the dysfunction and their trend. What say you, Rob Beard,
Swish or break? They gotta strike this offseason or next.
Speaker 19 (01:25:48):
I'm gonna say, Brick, you can wait. But for the
people who will say swish on this, you want them
to strike, You want them to get something. But to
get something in the market that this summer is gonna be,
you're gonna have to get up in Ivy and Asar
or somebody that is critical to what you think your
core is right now. So don't be surprised when you
when you get sticker shot and you say, hey, we
(01:26:09):
want to go get this guy, but you got to
give up Ivy in order to make it happen. Oh
but Ivy is such an important part of this roster.
You can't have it both ways. You can't go get
one of these top free agents and not give up
something in order for it to happen. So buyer beware
on this. You understand you're gonna get something, but you
got to give up something.
Speaker 4 (01:26:25):
Let me let me just to add some context to that.
When we talk about Trey Murphy being available, there is
a site out there that you know, they go through
what realistic offers would look like, and they're saying, even
for a guy like Trey Murphy, the Houston Rockets would
have to give up Dylan Brooks, Tarry Easton Reached Shepherd
tenth overall pick for future first round pickswaps and one
pick swap just for Trey Murphy.
Speaker 19 (01:26:46):
Yes, I mean, look look at Desmond, but look at
Desmond Bains setting the market. That is that's KCP Cole
Anthony four first four first, that's the market. So if
you want to go play in this market, an yourself.
But it is not shopping at at Kingsway. You are
shopping at Macy's, no doubt.
Speaker 4 (01:27:05):
Listen, and I'm seeing some people in a child who
do feel Ryan Glinski, the East is wide open. You
gotta strike. And I saw one that said you gotta
strike after what the Magic just did. The Pistons will
be worse than them. That's interesting because question number two,
if the Pistols don't make a significant move, they will
finish behind the Pacers, Magic, Nicks, and Bucks. If they
(01:27:25):
get you on his back guaranteed next season, What say you,
Flannel sam Brick.
Speaker 6 (01:27:30):
I think that the Pistons are gonna at least finish
ahead of the Bucks because Dame Lillard is gonna be
out for the season. They're probably gonna lose portus. But
I could see the other three for sure. I could
see them being like fourth, fifth.
Speaker 4 (01:27:44):
What's say you, JB. Smooth?
Speaker 6 (01:27:45):
I agree with Flannel on this one.
Speaker 9 (01:27:47):
This is a brick and Orlando better hope that this
trade helps him out so much. Otherwise you're we're all
gonna be laughing at you. I'm gonna be the first
one laughing at them right now.
Speaker 11 (01:27:57):
I'll tell you that.
Speaker 4 (01:27:58):
What Cavasi?
Speaker 11 (01:28:00):
What was the question again?
Speaker 4 (01:28:01):
Yeah, if the Pistons don't make a significant move, they
will finish behind the Bucks. If they get you honest
back Pacers, Magic and the Knicks guaranteed this season.
Speaker 3 (01:28:12):
I'll say, brick. I mean, you know, you know who
knows what type of leap Kate could make individually, and
then you know, IV healthy for a full year. You
don't know what how much I saw and Ron Holland
will develop over the year, and then you know, maybe
during steps up a lot too. So I mean, I
don't know, there's that's a lot of ifs in what
you know is Bucks. But you know they're still a
young team, so what can happen?
Speaker 5 (01:28:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:28:32):
Definitely, what say E t false? If they don't make
that move this year, they're gonna finish behind the Bucks,
The Pacers, Uh and the Knicks guaranteed.
Speaker 7 (01:28:41):
Maybe, and the Magic maybe not the Bucks, the Magic
maybe because they've made some moves. To me, the Pistons
are now a four to eighteen, So are we satisfied
with that?
Speaker 4 (01:28:56):
Is that good enough for to eight? Four to I
need then be a guarantee four to six right now.
If it's for the eight, I'm not satisfied four to six,
you're good with it?
Speaker 5 (01:29:04):
Though.
Speaker 4 (01:29:06):
I want them to don't get you anything else. I
want them to be a top four team, you know.
Speaker 7 (01:29:11):
And Tom Goris and God bless him us, Oh, we
can win a playoff series next year. So now that's
low expectations. The Pistons should put themselves in position with
this division to be NBA Finals contenders.
Speaker 4 (01:29:30):
Feels like the East is right there man for the text,
I see you right, what.
Speaker 19 (01:29:39):
Dude, I'm gonna I'm gonna say, brick and I'm gonna
give people some context on this before this season and
I do this every year. Hey, are they gonna make
the play in? Well, I gotta tell you five teams
that they have to be better than. Now we're talking
about them being in the top five potentially the East.
(01:30:00):
Have some context and understand that that's the growth that
you're gonna make and if you want to do this
warp speed jump into the top three or four in
the East conversation, then yes, if that's your goal, then
you need to make some moves with this roster. I
don't think just the return of Ivy by itself is
going to do that. You need to the same thing
that we were talking about with the Tigers. You need
(01:30:21):
to to kind of prune around it and make some
little fine tuning pieces to make this thing work. But yeah,
if they're in the top four, I'm good with that.
Are they going to be better than Milwaukee?
Speaker 5 (01:30:31):
Yeah? I think so.
Speaker 19 (01:30:32):
Just the growth and the experience of going through the
playoffs and being a little bit better this past season
will help them get over the hump in some of
these cases. And they're not starting zero in fourteen and
or they'll have a much better start to the season.
Speaker 4 (01:30:44):
Yep. And here via Evan Sindery, another top shooter generating
tons of trade interests ahead of the twenty twenty five
NBA Draft is Cam Johnson. And there was a team
that came up in the names came up amongst the
interested You already, Rob, but I gotta ask you, guys,
Cam Johnson and not Santio Dama and some of the
(01:31:06):
other floor spacing front court players the Pistons are linked to.
They should target Cam Johnson instead of those others since
there are rumors that the Brooklyn Nets are gonna make
them available. What saye Flannel Sam, I wonder if Pistons
fans have finally cooled on their wet drink.
Speaker 6 (01:31:23):
I mean, i've he's a fine player. I like his size,
I like the fact that he can shoot threes. The
biggest problem with him is that he's just never can
stay on the court. Probably would cost too much. Definitely
not one of my first choices.
Speaker 5 (01:31:39):
Definitely not JB.
Speaker 4 (01:31:40):
Smooth. What was the question to again, Sir Sam, Johnson
should be the one, not Santaio Doma and some of
the other restricted free agent trade targets or options we
think would be cheaper than the star players. Cam Johnson
is the one that we should be targeting with the
word on the street now that Brooklyn is gonna make
them available.
Speaker 9 (01:31:57):
I mean, Brooklyn will probably make them available, but is
a need that we need right now, so, especially with
the price as well too, I think I'm gonna pass
on this one. Give me a Brick like, I feel
like there are other options.
Speaker 4 (01:32:09):
Yeah, I see Dante one five to one break d
NCNT Cam Johnson will cost more than Santi. That's gonna,
I don't know necessarily. Santy's money is supposed to get
up there, and if you're gonna steal them away from
the Grizzlies, you're gonna probably push that above the thirteen fourteen,
fifteen a year that the Grizzlies can afford for Santiodamo.
But capa si a chase. What say, I'm wondering if
(01:32:30):
Pistons fans have finally cooled on Cam Johnson reports, are
Pistons might be one of those teams interested if the
Nets make them available.
Speaker 11 (01:32:39):
I'm gonna say, Brick, I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:32:41):
I'd rather the team try to sign a free agent
and then if they are gonna make a trade, because
no matter what trade you make, we've seen just the
costs go up for just role players and you know,
six men and stuff in this league. So if you're
gonna make a big trade like that, make it for
someone who's gonna be you know, CAD's Robin or just
right like you know, in the top three of this
(01:33:01):
team on the roster.
Speaker 11 (01:33:03):
You know, swing for the fences.
Speaker 3 (01:33:04):
If you're gonna step into the box and take a
hack at the plate, don't don't just try to hit
a dribbler in the infielder.
Speaker 11 (01:33:10):
Settle for a bloop and that, you know.
Speaker 4 (01:33:12):
Yeah, definitely fo what I'm doing. I'm not a big
fan of his. Yeah, but I'm itching. We talked about.
Speaker 7 (01:33:29):
When you've got people falling apart around you, when you
got a division that's not that great.
Speaker 8 (01:33:37):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 7 (01:33:38):
I want to I want to see you do something
once again, itching. I want to see something. But Cam
Johnson is probably not it.
Speaker 4 (01:33:45):
Not it, a Rod Beard will say before we get to.
Speaker 19 (01:33:48):
What's some of the fans sent in, Am Johnson is
definitely not it.
Speaker 11 (01:33:53):
Again.
Speaker 5 (01:33:53):
If you're going out and you're.
Speaker 19 (01:33:54):
Gonna make a splash, go bring me Jaron Jackson, Go
get bring me three j and then we can talk
about it. But if you're gonna do something that is
a big financial commitment and it's gonna cost you some capital,
make it a person who is going to change the
game and satisfy Terry's itch.
Speaker 4 (01:34:12):
All right, JB, smooth up. Let's get to a couple
of what the Chat family sent in. I will let
you be the person who just picks a few, and
I don't have Rob and Terry will be the ones
that switch to break. But obviously Flannel, Sam, myself, JB
and cavasaid we can give our comments here where we
see fit, but I want to be able to pay
a little bit of attention to what our chat family
(01:34:33):
is senting in, so you get to pick him, read
them off, We'll add some context, and we'll kick it
over to our legends.
Speaker 9 (01:34:39):
I think I got the first one right here. Shout
out to KG because he would be happy with this one.
I think during this twenty one or twenty two and
he keeps improving. Embiid is on fumes Durham will run
the East soon.
Speaker 6 (01:34:52):
He's a beast.
Speaker 4 (01:34:53):
I included that one because there is a overwhelming amounte
of support for Jaysen Duran in the last two episodes.
People are like, nah, I don't think that's the one
I really want to get rid of. People believe that
the East is primed for him to step up and
be one of the top centers there. Hey, Rod Beard,
I start with you t Fosse as well. How are
you guys feeling about this outlook? This approached Jayalen Durant
(01:35:15):
and untouchable in the future.
Speaker 5 (01:35:17):
Beast in the East, untouchable.
Speaker 19 (01:35:24):
It's kind of like the like button you gotta he
has to be touchable. I don't I don't think he's untouchable.
He'll be He'll be good, but not untouchable. And again,
if the right package comes along, would you.
Speaker 5 (01:35:42):
Three J or Jalen Durant? Let me ask those folks
that way.
Speaker 19 (01:35:47):
That's dirty and I think most people, I think most
people would say three J, especially if you're trying to
accelerate and go into a championship mode right now, they.
Speaker 5 (01:35:57):
Would say three J. So that's the that's the idea
that you're thinking there.
Speaker 7 (01:36:01):
You know right, I can't believe you said Jaylen Durant untouchable.
Hell no, he's not untouchable.
Speaker 5 (01:36:11):
And you're right.
Speaker 7 (01:36:12):
If you can get three J or triple J or
whatever you want to call him, and there's a little package, boom,
go for it. There's only one untouchable. That's Kate Cunningham.
Everybody else.
Speaker 5 (01:36:26):
That's not even an air you do.
Speaker 4 (01:36:28):
I'm doing you, I know, but you did, Durant.
Speaker 5 (01:36:34):
I'm trying to me. I'm trying to be measured.
Speaker 4 (01:36:40):
Fuck them right, Beard, you should fear nobody. Somebody hit
him with the Swiss and break real quick.
Speaker 5 (01:36:51):
Consideration and saying no, alright, I don't want to hear
any more. You taught me well, You taught me, You
taught me well, sir.
Speaker 4 (01:37:00):
Obviously I didn't because you just went Jayalen Darren. I failed.
Damn no, no, you know what. I'm not yelling at you.
That's my fault.
Speaker 5 (01:37:13):
That's my fault.
Speaker 4 (01:37:15):
I didn't do it nothing.
Speaker 5 (01:37:16):
You did this. You made me this way.
Speaker 4 (01:37:20):
No, when you.
Speaker 5 (01:37:22):
I didn't.
Speaker 20 (01:37:26):
Know.
Speaker 4 (01:37:28):
There we go. He's still too nice. Hey, Rod, he's
trying to He's trying to help me too, man. So
I get it. JB Smooth, what's up? Pick the next
one ball? Make it good?
Speaker 5 (01:37:41):
All right?
Speaker 9 (01:37:41):
I got this from from d Buck twenty eight sixty two.
He said, I sa Thompson should be should be untouchable.
What the guys that cannot shoot mid range, cannot shoot
three point shots, cannot shoot free throws? A sorrow would
be first. I look so a star will be first.
(01:38:02):
I look at to trade block until he learns to shoot.
Defense is good, but you need to be able to
do more than just putbacks and cut to the rim.
Asar has a lot more development required than Ivy and Duran.
Speaker 6 (01:38:15):
Okay, I think he's referring to me. And for the record,
I didn't say that Asar was untouchable. I would say
that to me, he is more untouchable than like Ivy
and Duran for example. And I think you will see
that when you really crunch the numbers and when you
really look at the impact. He also helped the offense
with his cutting, with his putbacks, with his offensive rebounds,
(01:38:37):
and obviously he was just a terror. He's all defense loading.
So yes, that's why to me he is the most
untouchable besides Kid, but not wholly untouchable.
Speaker 4 (01:38:46):
Hey you know what about you, Rob Beard?
Speaker 19 (01:38:51):
Well, no, that like that dude is very touchable. Like
if you're thinking about who you can trade in order
to go and get somebody, Assar is definitely on that list.
You need to give up something again in order to
get something back, and Assar, if you believe Ron Holland
is on that same trajectory as that you have a
duplication at that position, one or both of those guys
(01:39:13):
can go what on t fosse.
Speaker 4 (01:39:16):
I got it?
Speaker 7 (01:39:17):
Another itch, But it's a different niche. I think this
guy is gonna be really good in this league at
some point. Untouchable. Hell no, of course not. But I
just I like the fact that he played defense, that
he's tall, that he can do you know, he can
develop a jump shot. A lot of guys have come
(01:39:38):
into this league without jump shots and they've turned into something.
You ever hear of a young man named Scottie Pippen,
And I'm not saying you'll be Scottie Pippen, but Assar
has some.
Speaker 4 (01:39:51):
I said, some skills that need to be.
Speaker 7 (01:39:53):
To be developed, and they can be I want to
take another look at this young man before I.
Speaker 5 (01:39:59):
Go get rid of him.
Speaker 4 (01:40:01):
Yeah, I feel I feel like amongst all of us,
he might be one of those what behind kid you're
one or two that you're probably not You're gonna be
less eager to trade that that individual.
Speaker 6 (01:40:11):
He's my second behind.
Speaker 4 (01:40:13):
My mind personally too, I keep feeling like that guy
is stepping towards start him. And if you're telling me,
if I do believe some of the three point shooting
stuff is blown out of proportion for a guy who
can do as much as he can do. But let's
get one more jbat move. I got a whole lot
of these two because they've been hitting the comment section.
Got over one hundred comments on one of them. Man,
they went crazy. So we're gonna continue to get to it.
(01:40:34):
Thank you, guys. I'm telling you comment section of this
episode of Wacah Wilbert when this airs on Wilbert Pistons
going ahead and flooded with the comments, We're gonna continue
to feature you all. Let's get one more and then
uh we'll wrap it.
Speaker 11 (01:40:47):
Uh, did you want to do Dad from Tourett's from
the chat?
Speaker 4 (01:40:50):
Let's do that one, all right?
Speaker 9 (01:40:51):
Shout out to I got your shout out to Dad
with Tourett's. I don't want to make a huge trade.
I think it's most likely a smaller trade like getting
Norman Powell inspiring or Cam Johnson. But would you move
Harris holland fantechyo and one first for KD?
Speaker 4 (01:41:09):
It would probably take more firsts than that. It would
definitely take more first uh, based on the young players
going out. But yeah, yeah, I would like that. Can
you put that? I mean, what he's supposed to do.
Speaker 7 (01:41:30):
Here's my fear. Why is Katie on so many damn teams?
Speaker 5 (01:41:35):
You know?
Speaker 7 (01:41:35):
There's something there either his breaststink or he's stealing.
Speaker 4 (01:41:40):
Is he throwing bowls of old Miller? People like? But
you have this, I mean, we're talking about taking a
chance though. This is something that I feel like you
have to do. You're you're getting rid of what one
regular rotation player in this scenario Fantechyo, who I had
some hopes for, but he never material he ever got
back to the level he did through those first seventeen games.
(01:42:03):
He played with K Cunningham and he looked good and
promise him. But we're talking about the Pistons being in
this position of do they just kind of just meddle along. Well,
that's how I believe you find yourself in the all
dysfunction teams. We see them medal along and fall off.
We see the Hawks, you know, we've talked about them
even before you you found yourself down there as being
one of those teams that just kind of medal. You know,
(01:42:24):
they talk about what they may or may not do,
but they never go and just punch the deal. And
if anything, they've been more sellers than buyers during the
Tray Young era. They we've seen Collins and some players
that they've gotten rid of from that team. And that's
where part of me is like, you gotta if you
have the opportunity to press the button on a player
like that, don't you do it, even if he as
(01:42:45):
big of a star as he is, just for one
year for you? Now, you you don't care about the
people we are saying. But he's only gonna be.
Speaker 6 (01:42:53):
A for a year.
Speaker 4 (01:42:53):
He gonna walk. And if he is here, we gotta
pay a fifty million.
Speaker 7 (01:42:56):
Dollars And let me quote myself from a few years ago,
then let the bitch walk. I yeah, I just need
it for two years.
Speaker 4 (01:43:06):
If you want to go, go rob me here?
Speaker 10 (01:43:09):
What up?
Speaker 4 (01:43:09):
Though?
Speaker 19 (01:43:12):
We know how much Kevin Durant is set to make
next year fifty five million.
Speaker 5 (01:43:18):
Fifty five Who they think they getting Chelsea Clinton? No,
you are not.
Speaker 19 (01:43:24):
You are not paying Kevin Durant fifty and giving.
Speaker 5 (01:43:27):
Up some pieces to do it.
Speaker 19 (01:43:29):
No, and again, this is the idea of you go
out and you make a big splash and you got
KD for one year, you gotta do something else in
order to legitimize and make that work. You're not adding
a draft pick if that's your one big splashy move,
are you?
Speaker 4 (01:43:47):
Five?
Speaker 19 (01:43:48):
Games or ten games better than last season, Terry, I
need I need to do that on this one.
Speaker 6 (01:43:59):
Fifty is a number that is brother.
Speaker 7 (01:44:03):
I don't care if you're five or ten games better.
Are you three or four playoff series better? That's all
I care about.
Speaker 4 (01:44:13):
Oh that's the question with k D.
Speaker 5 (01:44:17):
Who was it again?
Speaker 9 (01:44:18):
It was Tobias, Yeah, yeah, I got you one more time.
So the trade would be Harris Holland Fontechio and one
first four KD.
Speaker 19 (01:44:30):
That's not gonna happen. It's gonna be more first and
more pieces thrown in. If you're going for it, fine,
I don't like it.
Speaker 5 (01:44:39):
I don't.
Speaker 6 (01:44:39):
I don't like it, which is which is precisely why.
And I'm gonna give Dad with Horretz the respect of this.
If he thinks that it could happen just going off
of this trade, absolutely I would take it because I
think it would be a steam. I don't think that
it's going to get it done, and I think Harris Tobias, Harris,
that's like salary filler. You still have a star during
(01:45:01):
IVY Cade, Kevin Durant pretty formidable if you asked me.
Speaker 4 (01:45:08):
All right, all right, let me ask a question. Show
of hands.
Speaker 7 (01:45:11):
Who in this room believes the Pistons are elite in
the Eastern Conference right now? Right now, I can't say that.
Speaker 5 (01:45:22):
Nobody can't. Nobody thinks that. Okay, nobody thinks.
Speaker 19 (01:45:26):
That because if you make you elite, though ke elite.
Speaker 4 (01:45:32):
I think it meets you elite.
Speaker 5 (01:45:40):
That's not enough, though, that's the question.
Speaker 19 (01:45:41):
That's because you're taking a one year swing and saying
with Durant, we're going for it and if it doesn't work,
we have a a huge I mean, are if it.
Speaker 5 (01:45:49):
Doesn't work, are you trading them at the deadline or.
Speaker 19 (01:45:52):
Are you just saying this comes off the books next
year and we'll ride with it as it is. You
have a big hole, and then again you're back in
the same spot where you can.
Speaker 5 (01:46:00):
You can. It's not terrible. I just don't like it.
Speaker 4 (01:46:03):
It's not terrible. Oh man, I don't know what it's
saying to the free agents or if Kevin Durant doesn't
come back next year, are they just looking at the
Pistons land and are we not looking at the team
with an albatross while we see other squads going and
trying to shore things up. The Magic made a move
to try and make sure for the next two to
four years they're gonna have this trio of Desert Band,
(01:46:24):
Polo and Franz that's formidable in this Eastern conference and
it is something that I do believe it should be
on the Pistons radar. So from those perspectives, when you're
talking about that long term outlook, I wante hundred percent
get why you might be hesitant to make certain moves,
even if it's for a star player. I can actually
understand that.
Speaker 7 (01:46:42):
So you guys got me distracted. I'm really more interested
in Triple J. That's the one massive player of the year.
Speaker 4 (01:46:49):
You can score a little bit. They've been selling since
before the playoffs. Then we sit here and tell people,
I don't care where Memphis is on this thing. There's
so much function there. And then little by a little
coach is gone. Desim Bain has gone. Now there's rumors
that what are they really gonna do about John Moran.
They're wondering about how they build around him in the future.
(01:47:12):
They're wondering about what he is for them right now,
despite the level of player he is that straight up
this function and Triple J is just sitting there like, uh,
what's going on. Just toss on over here, man.
Speaker 5 (01:47:24):
So just look at this.
Speaker 19 (01:47:28):
Three J is making twenty three million next year, last
year of his deal, and he's twenty five years old. Now,
if you come back and you want to pay him.
Speaker 3 (01:47:36):
Fifty, I know a good twenty six million dollars we
could match that salary with.
Speaker 19 (01:47:42):
So if you tell me you're if you tell me
you're going to get three J and you put that
package together for that and you're gonna pay him, extend
him and give him forty I'm on board with that.
I'm on board with that. That makes a lot more
sense than KD to me, I would do that one.
Speaker 4 (01:48:03):
I bet we're back on the triple J. Would be
the Tobias ivy four first and whatever other end of
our rotation.
Speaker 7 (01:48:11):
I get rid of every first round pick I got
into now until two thousand and forty eight.
Speaker 19 (01:48:17):
WHOA, they're not even born yet, Terry two eight kids
aren't born yet.
Speaker 4 (01:48:22):
Hey still gonna get rid of them.
Speaker 9 (01:48:25):
Get rid of the babies for REALM, you.
Speaker 4 (01:48:30):
Traded the babies.
Speaker 3 (01:48:34):
I'm curious if we could somehow get Jared Jackson Junior
in the trade and Tobias was a part of that deal.
If JB would maybe consider get a Tobias Harris Grizzlies jersey. Oh,
making that happen is.
Speaker 4 (01:48:46):
This is so so crazy. We gotta get that to happen.
And my man Terry Foster saying they're gonna be in
a trade report before they have a birth certificate.
Speaker 5 (01:48:54):
As why.
Speaker 4 (01:48:56):
That's crazy, JB. We might have to make that happen, bros.
The reason why your spartan dog gets to come back
here home plays for the Pistol. You gotta get a
Tobias hair Grizzies jersey just to pay some moments.
Speaker 11 (01:49:15):
I'll consider it.
Speaker 5 (01:49:16):
I got five on that. I got five on that's
a rock.
Speaker 4 (01:49:21):
You know what, man, this has been a This has
been an epic one man, and chat em is they've
been invested.
Speaker 7 (01:49:26):
There we can propose the what what I'm about, uh
triple j for everybody on the Pistols roster except Kate Cunningham.
And then here we go, Here we go and put on.
Speaker 4 (01:49:44):
A wedding dress too. While you're doing.
Speaker 5 (01:49:47):
Here we go.
Speaker 4 (01:49:50):
How how comfortable is that chair?
Speaker 7 (01:49:52):
Oh this is a great chair man. And they got
drugs in here too. That's why I'm just talking.
Speaker 19 (01:49:58):
That's a that's a throne that's not a chair. You know,
you feel like the Emperor in Star Wars, like you
can control the Death Star from that thing.
Speaker 4 (01:50:10):
Now I feel like I'm in the fly to Mars tomorrow.
There you go straight up shout out, this is so
crazy seeing Teapots and Rob Beard on the same screen. Man,
but shout out the place where dreams do come true?
Speaker 5 (01:50:22):
What we're sports? Right?
Speaker 4 (01:50:24):
And Ryan Glinskley in turned Ryan, you know I see
you in the chat. He says, get Danny Wolf. That
would fit supposedly what the Pistons are looking for. But
I don't think that they're going to do anything to
mess up that draft capital until they know that they're
not going after a trade or restricted free agent. But
Danny Wolf to trade back into the first round, we've
(01:50:45):
seen it take as low as four first round picks
the Pistons. Actually they've done that. They've been on both
sides of the thing. Traded out of the first round
by accepting four second round picks. They traded back into
the first round by giving up a couple first a
second round pick. So it'd be interesting to see where
Danny Will falls because he does fit that seven foot
floor spacing versatile big that everybody in the league is
(01:51:08):
looking for. But the Pistons have been one of the
teams that they say there's.
Speaker 19 (01:51:12):
A certain local team, there's a certain local team that
has the number twenty two pick that I mean, maybe.
Speaker 4 (01:51:22):
You know what, man, I The Pistons have the ability
with their second round picks to get busy in the draft,
with their first round picks to get busy in RFA.
They have the opportunity to go and absolutely accelerate this
thing and throw dynamite on it. But I am comfortable
with Treason Langdon the side that next year is the
year that they're gonna do that. So I kind of
(01:51:43):
want to see him do it this year. Who doesn't
want to see the fireworks now? Fourth of July is
right around the corner. Shout out to the legend Rob
Beard for giving us his time senior sports editor, telling
him to stop calling you a legend.
Speaker 5 (01:51:54):
You ain't old yet. Hey, I got this.
Speaker 19 (01:51:57):
I got this gray right here that suggests something different.
I'm never comfortable with legend that Terry's the legend.
Speaker 5 (01:52:04):
I just following his footstep. Dude.
Speaker 7 (01:52:07):
I've seen dudes in their twenties with gray hair. It's
a different world.
Speaker 19 (01:52:10):
Now we all understand social social media makes this a
different world. Like I couldn't function in my twenties with
social media. That would be that no, no think seeze.
Speaker 7 (01:52:22):
Man, I would have been a crackhead man.
Speaker 4 (01:52:28):
You wouldn't be calling me a legend.
Speaker 5 (01:52:29):
You'd be calling me homeless.
Speaker 21 (01:52:31):
You know what, Colley, If you're I just to handle
down river teeth falls down, that would be epic, man,
that would be epic.
Speaker 4 (01:52:45):
Chesting Malone at Chesting Malone, can imagine the other conversation,
you know, the story.
Speaker 7 (01:52:49):
About she almost killed the Blue Sharp cease. She smacked
him in the face with her breast and he and
she couldn't breathe.
Speaker 4 (01:52:59):
Callie Friday, you're gonna have to refresh the story for
the people. Okay, we'll do it. Go back on Friday,
Fanks traffic as if we're gonna tell the people, were
gonna let you tell the people, Friday Man. But hey,
rod Beard, thank you for your time. Brother. As always,
this was a good one. I can't wait, Teo what
the reactions are from the Chat family too, Cornea, this
(01:53:21):
match out like butterf I got rob But any last words, brother,
before we say what Upda some of our sponsor friends.
Speaker 19 (01:53:27):
No, just always a pleasure to be with teeth Boss
and always grateful for the wisdom and the knowledge that
he gave to me. And you talk so much about
what I've given to you, but it is just passed
down from from generation to generation of sports personality and
sports journalists.
Speaker 5 (01:53:42):
Uh.
Speaker 19 (01:53:43):
And I'm glad that we have this sort of circle
that we can do this. So appreciate your Teeth Boss.
Speaker 4 (01:53:47):
Thank you very much. I'm happy to contribute. Thank you
t Foss, thank you brother.
Speaker 5 (01:53:52):
Glad that you part of the WUKU.
Speaker 4 (01:53:54):
It's awesome, man. I know we got some other special
guests that we're gonna also bring back into the fold.
Can we tease it or do we just wait?
Speaker 6 (01:54:01):
We just wait, We'll wait.
Speaker 4 (01:54:03):
People are gonna be happy for it. All They're gonna
be happy for it.
Speaker 5 (01:54:05):
I know that.
Speaker 4 (01:54:06):
And uh, this is what we're trying to do, bring
as much good as we can to the people. And
thank you Rod for your time today. That's definitely a
whole lot of good for them. And maybe Rock can
help me how did I become a sports editor?
Speaker 19 (01:54:21):
You gotta be a little bit nicer to people, and
you can't tell them.
Speaker 5 (01:54:25):
Hell no, I'm done.
Speaker 4 (01:54:28):
That's it for me. Thank you After It's not like
Bud throw some drum rolls and the chat and some
fire emojis for these guys. This has been epic and
I can't wait for that Friday show Man. I can't wait.
But uh, who do we gotta say what up? Though?
Speaker 8 (01:54:42):
To?
Speaker 4 (01:54:42):
Uh mister JB. Smooth?
Speaker 9 (01:54:44):
We gotta say what up to a bunch of people?
Thanks Ry, we got the White Claw Tour, Lady James
Loan Filman and.
Speaker 4 (01:54:54):
Of course Jars. Hey, you know what, let's run these
off real quick. I'm gonna make sure what we wings can.

Speaker 5 (01:57:58):
Uh yeah, definitely.
Speaker 9 (01:57:59):
U can double check and make sure I got all
of them here. So I'm missing one of them right now,
and I apologize about that, but shout out to everyone
sitting in super chest. Five dollars from Randalls Smalls, he said, Wow,
bad hip does matter?
Speaker 2 (01:58:12):
Who would have thought duh?
Speaker 9 (01:58:13):
When speaking about how by is and another five dollars
from I t Hips, he said the afternoon show on
the Flagship proposed trading either Clark or McGonagall to get
Chris Sale as the Tigers number two starter.
Speaker 6 (01:58:27):
Thoughts, well, I I know that Tiger fans already are
head over heels madly in love with Max Clark. I
hate it. I mean, Chris, I'm.
Speaker 3 (01:58:40):
I'm close to a pause, Max Clark for Paul Skins, Posks.
Speaker 11 (01:58:48):
That's what I mean. If you're going to make the trade,
trade Max Clark for Paul Schames, I.
Speaker 4 (01:58:52):
Feel so dirty. But we'll talk about a team that
has to win the World Series.
Speaker 6 (01:58:55):
Yeah, I'm not saying I'm for it. I'm just saying
people act like it's the worst proposal proposal of all
because you're.
Speaker 4 (01:59:00):
Just trying to just boot or out of here, like
it's just something you can just find in the old
day in the openings.
Speaker 6 (01:59:05):
He's a very fine prospect, but he is far from infallible.
I'll just say that Randall Smalls is another one. Correct.
Speaker 9 (01:59:12):
Uh, Yeah, I read Randall Small's one. I'm missing one
of them though.
Speaker 6 (01:59:16):
I can read it. Yeah, I found it.
Speaker 4 (01:59:18):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (01:59:19):
And if you guys hear team chemistry, you bring in
guys and screw that up. So we kick and everybody's asked,
but have to make moves. I'm we're not talking about
fundamentally reshaping the team. World Series. Teams do stuff like this, like.
Speaker 4 (01:59:32):
Ser Super Bowl NBA champion in hockey.
Speaker 6 (01:59:34):
Like the Dodgers added Jack Flaherty, the Rangers in twenty
twenty three added Jordan Montgomery, the twenty twenty one Braves
added Jorge Solaire, the twenty nineteen Nationals added as Drubil Cabrera.
The twenty eighteen Red Sox added Steve Pierce and Nate Eovaldi.
The twenty sixteen Cubs edited world as Chapman just to
name a few. Not Tigers are a great team, but
(01:59:56):
one move could put them over the top. That's all
we're saying. But uh, that's the show.
Speaker 4 (01:59:59):
Yeah, that's the show. Thank you Chat family for being here.
