JAV Smooth. I love it, Man, I love it. Let
me let me know Tad family, if you guys are
gonna have that uh with a warm cup of flannel
Sam or a tall glass of kool Aid with a
little bit of Jay V Smooth mixed it. I'm yo.
Shout out to the new show and it's wake Up Biobard.
(00:54):
We got a lot of to talk about today. Man,
it's your boy bred day and k Detroit kool Aid,
your credential, Pisson reporter water for the We got flannel Sam, Yes,
still in a Rodney Green jersey. You talk about dedications.
This is the man that we've seen pay up for
his bets and hopefully we got some more on the
way this Lion season. But you know what, wake up.
We'll go on ahead, smashtown like button, because you guys
(01:15):
are the most important part of the wool crew and
Franal Sam you want to tell them what we got
on the media too.
Speaker 5 (01:21):
Absolutely, I think you guys know what we're gonna touch
on for the first part of the show. And it
could be a while because, Uh, I got some things
I gotta say. However, we'll get to the Detroit Sports eventually.
We had Brad Holmes. He was on a podcast with
former NFL player Chris Long. He had some interesting comments
about the edge rushing room. He was asked about Zadarius
(01:44):
Smith and also, we know the Tigers didn't have the
best weekend. They lost two of three from the Cincinnati Reds.
But we're gonna talk about what they can do to
get right against the lowly Pittsburgh Pirates. But nice game
from Tigre's Hall Burton last night.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
It was az bring it up. Not many turnovers in
in the clutch. You know what, shout out to him.
Speaker 6 (02:10):
You know what?
Speaker 4 (02:10):
Thing he did pretty much what I'm accustomed to seeing
him do. Uh, And here's the thing, believe it or not.
And people who watch for a while might remember this
kool aid.
Speaker 5 (02:21):
You might remember this throughout the regular season, even throughout
the first round maybe two. I didn't vehemently despise Tyrese Haliburton.
Speaker 6 (02:32):
I know you did. You hated him way more than
I did.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
But now I hate him more than probably anybody hates
Tyrese Halibert.
Speaker 6 (02:42):
You know what I hate been Tim Hardaway Senior. Yes,
I do.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (02:46):
And here's the problem.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
Before we break down the game and his plethora of
missteps this playoffs, which have completely gotten washed away from history,
the problem is is that I had to hear all
of the time people talk about how he's a superstar,
how he's having a legendary playoff run, how some people
(03:08):
even said he's top five. I don't know if you've
got that tweet from a Jason Timff if you want
to put that up mister jb'smove.
Speaker 6 (03:16):
You got that one?
Speaker 5 (03:17):
Oh yeah, these are smart basketball minds, Jason Timf. And
this was like a few days ago. I was debating
with it doesn't matter this morning. You have to have Jokic, Sga,
Luca Jannis over Haliburton.
Speaker 6 (03:30):
But it starts to become a debate at five.
Speaker 5 (03:33):
Haliburton led offenses keep getting keep beating great teams in
the playoffs. It's becoming undeniable. This is the type of
garbage and malarkey that I've had to hear about that
Tyrese Haliburton is arguably a top five player in the NBA.
Just absolute nonsense, absolute junk. And I had to hear
even more stuff. Do you got the one from mister
Jim Rome JBS.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Oh yeah, of course.
Speaker 5 (03:56):
This is the type of stuff that I kept hearing
again and again again. I'll say it again, Tyrese Haliburton
being voted by his peers as the most overrated player
in the league is the worst take in the history
of the league, the worst take in the history of
the league.
Speaker 6 (04:11):
Really, you know what, He's been overrated.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
He was overrated in the regular season, mister I didn't
make an All Star team. He was overrated at the
beginning of the playoffs, and now he's more overrated than
he's ever been.
Speaker 6 (04:22):
Right now, I'm sick of that. Man. I want and
I get it. The series isn't over. The series is
not over.
Speaker 5 (04:29):
The Indiana Pacers have a chance Game six at home
and then Game seven.
Speaker 6 (04:33):
Anything can happen. But I'll tell you what, And.
Speaker 5 (04:36):
This goes to Tyrese Haliburton season this year. This is
gonna sound a little morbid, but just remember I'm not
advocating for anything more than the Pacers and Tyrese Haliburton
being eliminated this year. I want the Oklahoma City Thunder
to terminate him with extreme prejudice. Shout out apocalypse, now,
(04:56):
strike hard, strike fast, no mercy, Get this out of
my life and off my TV and back to obscurity,
to where he will never make a finals again.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
And you guys already know how I feel about this.
I see Chuck Brew in the chat. He's like, I
hated Tyres Haliburton from the start. That's me too. From
the start. There was just too much noise. And I
remember going back to that draft and a lot of
people talk about, man, we passed on, we passed on,
and we passed on them. I feel like people miss
a lot of the narrative where he was angling to
not be in Detroit. He was angling to go to
(05:28):
a place into a situation which he thought he could
then ultimately control his destination. Because when you're getting picked
amongst the top. You know, in the lottery, you're not
necessarily going to a desirable situation, whereas Neil will say
a desirous situation. But that from that point forward, and
I get it, they are different eras the Pistons didn't
give people of these of these last few generations, last
(05:51):
few decades much to really latch onto so that you
actually hate the other team. So if you were a
basketball fan, you had to be able to cheer for
some of the other teams as well. And I get that,
But for me, it just ran so deep from four
and before that. When I do see Haller Burton, especially
now mixed with the Indiana Pacers logo across the chest,
it's just that much more hate and fire for me.
(06:13):
And then when you look at the Eastern Conference. We've
talked about this going back to last season, going back
to this season that just ended. We said this about
twenty games, and I said, I always look for the
dysfunctional teams and I knocked them. I don't care what
the preseason expectation said. Philly was one of those teams
that we talked about. Nope, get them out of here, Orlando,
It'll be about injuries and what do we see all
(06:34):
these teams start to get knocked off. For me personally,
sometimes I think that there are some blows that can
really send you really and I believe all of this
energy getting here to this point, not that the Pacers
are going to be bad, but that I do believe
that this could be a blow to them if they
don't win this finals. I want the Pistons to have
everything possible working in their favor in this Eastern Conference,
(06:56):
because this is the most wide open it's been for
any for them in a very long time. I don't
know the last time that it's matched up to where
they're trending upward as a top four playoff team and
the rest of the East is pretty much trending down
except for you got those Pacers that are sitting right there,
and I want to see them get popped in a face.
And I have to wear this one. Sorry, Freddy Felt,
(07:18):
and no, Freddy Felt.
Speaker 5 (07:19):
I actually feel bad for I feel bad for Pacer fans.
I feel bad for the city of Indianapolis because.
Speaker 6 (07:26):
The Pacers in a vacuum.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
I don't hate Pascal Siakam, I don't hate Miles Turner,
I don't hate Andrew m Hard.
Speaker 6 (07:32):
I don't hate Aaron Smith.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
It's just the media creation and the just infatuation with
Tyrese Haliburton has become so overblown that I have gotten
to the point where I hate him more than probably
any other athlete on the planet because I was the one,
even when it was unpopular, even when he was hitting
game winning shots that would come here the next day
(07:55):
and be like, hey, guys, There's a lot of context
involving that. There's air Mee Smith going five for five
from three. There's the Pacers going six of ten from
three in the fourth quarter in Game one of the Finals,
with Tyrese Haliburton making zero of them and assisting on one.
There's the Gary Trent disaster class in Game five where
he turned the ball over twice. There's the Donovan Mitchell
(08:17):
offensive foul. There's a lot that happened that had nothing
to do with Tyrese Haliburton that put him in those
positions to have the chance to make those game winning
shots and he made him.
Speaker 6 (08:27):
Credit to him for that.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
What this finals, what this playoff run run to the
Finals has been for Tyrese Haliburton. It's not been a
superstar run. It's not been an all time great playoff
individual run. It's been a run in which he's had
a lot of game winning or in the case of
the Knicks, game game tying big shots. And I'm not
gonna take that away from him. But what he has
(08:51):
also had, and what he had last night was another
skunk fuck bag playoff game.
Speaker 6 (08:58):
And I'm sick of it. If he'll be he said,
I that was answer by that, I would say that.
Speaker 5 (09:08):
Just another one and I and if I hear another
word about oh he was hurt.
Speaker 6 (09:14):
Zero field goals, motherfucker, zero field goals. Zero. What other
superstar would be allowed to get away?
Speaker 4 (09:20):
I tell you this because he's not a you know,
they don't get away with that. Jared GoF we were just.
Speaker 6 (09:26):
Talking about zero even.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
I said, look, if he steps out there in the field,
we all understand that this is at least the era
I come from. I don't know where all of our audience,
what their eras their philosophies, but me, you step out
there in the field or the court on the ice,
you are responsible for your play. You gotta do something
to contribute, and you cannot be a negative, especially with
the expectations. To me, it's about how they frame who
(09:51):
Tyrese Haliburton is. I have no problem with the player
who plays well and plays above is his talent level
sometimes and plays to a level where he's uplifting his team.
That's what you want out all your guys, no matter,
and I have no problem with that. But I get
it when the narratives that are driven around him are
so widely skewed. Differently as it relates to our own
guys too, is where it's just like, what in the
(10:13):
world are we doing here? Let's hold this dude to
the same standards that we want to hold everybody else
to because Cade has to literally turn and flip tricks
just to wind up, honestly at the end of the
year at the same place that Tyree did as it
relates to all NBA, which was crazy and we already
went down that whole thing. But Phil, I see you
in the chat man, says Brandon. I'm surprised you're talking hate.
(10:35):
It's not part of your faith. It's a game. You
gotta separate the game from reality and life. Absolutely love
these guys, especially covering this thing as it relates to
being a fan. Oh no, I hate the bulls and
what did JB say, oh you you you you know what,
Pistons the only thing that's cool to me. And that's
how it goes as a fan. My passion is always
(10:57):
gonna run very very high on Detroit and that's why
they call me Detroit cool. A. I don't want nothing
else mixed in, nothing else at all. And I've learned
to respect the other people who, you know what, they
can respect or have fan or be a fan of
other players of other teams. Me personally is just the
way that I rock Man. Everybody else hit the road jet.
Speaker 6 (11:18):
I see it.
Speaker 5 (11:18):
Freddie Felt three one three, and I gotta give respect
because he's the one person that I'm kind of like, Man,
I hate to do this to you, Freddy, but you know,
but this is this is a passion project of mine.
I would rather watch two Girls one Cup that OKC
thunder basketball on ESPN and I just.
Speaker 6 (11:34):
Played.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
But I'll tell you what, Freddy, I would rather watch
two Girls, one Cup than another Tyrese Halliburton fat session
on ESPN.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
I'm sick of it. I'm sick of it. I'm sick
of it. I'm sick of it.
Speaker 5 (11:47):
Nice zero points and oh, by the way people talk
about oh, he was hurt, which should not excuse zero
field goals in a game. By the way, but as
I've said before, this is not the first skunk fuck
bag playoff game that Tyrese Haliburn has played in this playoffs.
Speaker 6 (12:04):
JB.
Speaker 5 (12:04):
Smooth, do you have the one that the graphic Tyrese
Haliburton playoff low lights in twenty twenty five?
Speaker 4 (12:10):
Ye?
Speaker 6 (12:10):
That proved that this is.
Speaker 5 (12:12):
One of many. First Round Game one, he goes for
a ten, seven and twelve, lots of assists, which is fine,
three of thirteen from the floor, oh of seven from three,
and he was able to get away with it because
the Pacers won that game. How about Eastern Conference Semi
Finals Game three, four points, zero rebounds, five assists on
(12:34):
two of eight from the floor in oh of one
from three. They actually lost that game. He didn't get
away with it. He got away with it again in
Eastern Conference Semi Finals Game four, in which he put
up eleven five and five on three of eight from
the floor and one of five from three. Eastern Conference
Finals Game two, he goes for fourteen, eight and eleven again,
lots of assists, that's great, five of sixteen from the
(12:57):
floor and three of ten from three and oh, by
the way, Pascal Siakam scored thirty nine Eastern Conference Finals
Game five, he goes for eight, two and six on
two of seven from the floor and oh of two
from behind the arc. And then of course last night
with his magnum opus of shit four seven and six
on oh of six from the floor and oz of
(13:19):
four from three. This is not superstar shit.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
Can you imagine if k did that, he would.
Speaker 6 (13:24):
Be getting raked across the cols by our own fan base.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
And it's so crazy because when you look at his
playoffs steps for Cage, you're like, all right, that's some
pretty good first playoff front. And it was so good
to me, including the regular season, he just had that.
It's this is so crazy, right. So we sit in
our little great state of pure Michigan, and we hear
a lot of things, a lot of things from our
fan base, right, And one of the things that I
(13:49):
hear most consistently about K is turnovers. That's the crazy part.
When I got out to All Star Weekend amongst other media,
amongst other people covering this, and Kate in that body
was championing and celebrating him there, that was the crazy part.
To me, I'm like, why can't this just happen back home?
They they it's not as if they talk about him
(14:09):
as if he's perfect. But it was just people who understood,
who cover other teams, who are covering other players, and
who are looking at this thing, probably from a more
fair approach than we are. They're looking at K and
I'm saying this guy is one of your future faces
of the league period period. And that to me, it
was different too, because you can tell, yes, there's a
bunch of all stars here, but Kay was a little
(14:31):
bit different than some of the others. You could tell.
And that's when we did the exercise before which one
of these all stars are you trading K for? I know,
nobody in Detroit's trading Carrie for Tyler Hill.
Speaker 6 (14:42):
And that's the thing.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
It's like, it's like, when you see these types of stats,
could you just imagine he could you? And that's where
but Kay, I'm glad that he's only elevated his level
of play every single year, proving that that type of
noise from the vocal minority. I will step out on
the ledge and say that it's the vocal minority that's
that's out. They're doing this stuff because LCA was rocking.
(15:04):
People were rocking this year. So I believe that this
type of stuff it drums kate up. You know when
the Ringer came out. Okay, finally's top fifteen player, but
you got Tyree's like seven spots ahead of him. I
do believe that this type of stuff. You didn't see that.
Speaker 6 (15:18):
Oh I did see it.
Speaker 5 (15:19):
It's such bullshit, like like like this is gonna keep
happening though, and it is.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
He asked, this is where this is where my passion
comes from, as it relates to they must do something.
And we're gonna talk about this more with Rod tomorrow.
For sure, he's supposed to be on. They got a strike, man,
you see it. Orlando just did it.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
First.
Speaker 4 (15:37):
I had just a few options I could talk about
who did this. When you talk about the Raptors going
to getting somebody, you look at Tyre's Halliburton in the
Pacers went and got Pascal Siakam. You look at the
Rockets and they went out there and got a couple
of players for them, Frank Vanvlee and Dylan Brooks. And
now you look at Orlando going out and getting Desmond Bang.
I believe it is now time for the Detroit Pistons
to do something similar for their young star who's now
(15:59):
stepping in the forty million a year. This is no
longer rookie contract money. You're stepping in a forty million
dollars a year next year for Kate. And at the
end of the season, you have to have a decision
made on both Jalalen Duran and Jay n Ivy. You
can't play around no.
Speaker 6 (16:12):
More no the magic.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
Certainly they struck and Desmond Baine, whether you want to
say they gave up too much, really is the.
Speaker 6 (16:22):
Perfect fit for that team. Yes, and we will definitely.
Speaker 5 (16:26):
Go over it more with Rod Beard tomorrow because yeah,
that shakes up the East quite a bit. But us,
speaking of the East, I've got one more thing on
mister Tyrese Haliburton, because man, the skunk fuck Bagnist just
continues and continues and continues. This is Tyrese Hurt and
Haliburn twenty twenty five playoffs. If you've got this one,
JB smooth games with less than fifteen points eight And
(16:50):
by the way, the Pacers have played twenty one games
shooting forty percent or less, six games shooting thirty percent
or less from three, including last night with both shooting
and three point shooting zero point zero eleven, And all
I ever hear about is, oh, my goodness, he's just
a pure point guard. That's the reason he's not putting
up numbers games with less than ten assists. He's done
(17:11):
that in more than half the games as well. And
that's the thing. I'm tired of him being allowed to
get away with this. I know that we are in
an instant gratification society, or when one clip is something
that becomes really the iconic moment, and Tyre's Haliburton has
had the moments, the game winning shots, but his bad games,
his you know, skunk fuck bagness, which I'm seeing right
(17:34):
here to me, has outweighed everything. And I get it
that the Pacers are in the finals. But the Pacers,
to me, what they've shown over this playoff run is
that they are a great team. They're a well coached team.
All of the role players are stepping up when they're
being asked to. I mean TJ McConnell last night almost
(17:54):
brought the basically brought the Pacers back. Tyres Halburton was
gonna get all the credit for that, by the way,
but he brought the Pacers back. But that's what the
that's what Pacers role players have been doing all playoffs long,
whether it's Nie Smith, whether it's Nempar, whether it's Benedict
Mathern in Game three, whether it was TJ McConnell. Last night,
(18:14):
Pascal Siakam was the Eastern Conference Finals MVP.
Speaker 6 (18:18):
The Pacers are a great team.
Speaker 5 (18:21):
It's not just Tyrese Halliburton and the Haliburton nets, but
listening to a lot of the media in the way
that they cover the Pacers when it's convenient to slob
and fap over Tyrese Haliburton, that's what you think that
it would be.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
Who like who had done a bingo car for this year.
But one more thing, I actually agree with Chuck Brewer
here he says at wil were Pistons, that is that's
me and the chat. If y'all see that is Detroit
cool a. He says, Indy wins this series in five
if Kate is there starting over Halley.
Speaker 6 (18:56):
I don't know if I'm rat I don't know if
it's in.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
Five, but I think that they have a better chance
of winning a series.
Speaker 5 (19:00):
I will say they have a better chance of winning.
But I actually and when we're gonna talk about it
a bit in the next session, they know that too.
Speaker 6 (19:09):
They do.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
And like I said, I don't think that they win
in five with with with Kid because I actually have
a ton of respect for this Thunder team and we're
going to get into that in the next segment. But uh,
they would be better because Tyres Haliburton. And let me
just say this, he's a good player. He's not a bum,
he's not trash. But he's absolutely probably the most overrated
(19:32):
he's having the most overrated playoff run I've ever seen
in my entire life. He's become a media creation. He's
a good player, not a superstar. And you know what,
not a star, not a star. He is a really
really good player, really good player, not.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
Thinking like j Doves drop the forty biscuit. That's Anson's
guy right there. He's been on the aspect of a
Jedden Williams being a star for a while and when
you start to think about it, I'm sitting here like, yeah,
this was one where it's been up and down. And
because of the PACER's success and because of Halliburton's consistency,
I was like, you know what, maybe maybe there is
a nod to give to him, but when you look
(20:21):
at the overall volume and usage and such, it is
absolutely crazy. Man. I want to see him be able
to make an All Star game or two, you know,
in a roll before I'm able to call him a star.
But he's putting up just good numbers, like one of
those guys who I believe is always going to be
considered good, but not necessarily making All Star games. That's
just how I view him. It just happened this past
(20:43):
season and they were at a higher seed than the Pistons.
You would have thought that Halliburton and Siaka would have
gotten in if the notion or a narrative was that
he was a star. But when the rest of the
league got a chance, because how the k get in?
We already know that he got more fan votes, you know,
but just found himself just on the outside. I don't
know howllom the song of That's gonna be a thing.
Seven hundred over sevens and fifty thousand fan votes is crazy.
(21:04):
So then how did he get in? The coaches they
voted him in over Tyre's Halliburton. That should tell you something.
But there's a lot of people who they just don't
care about that, And it's crazy when you look at
K Cunningham's stats just overall. When I'm looking at Halleburn's,
I'm like, all right, cool, decent. But when you look
at Kay the overall volume of twenty six nine and
six on forty seven percent field goals shooting even better
(21:26):
effective and true shooting. That's why I'm just like, what
are people talking about? Six seven? We see K when
Cade and OK see when they match up, do you
see who guards him lou Dort? And then they hate
Then they head shit yeah, shit, yeah, That's what I'm saying.
Then they headge a couple players, and then when it
gets in the crunch time, you know what you see?
You see K being able to actually defend lou Dort
(21:47):
and SJ on the other end. That's what I'm saying. Like,
and it's like, I wish that sometimes these conversations, even
on the national media, when they talk about this stuff,
or when these people like the Ringer, when they rank
these things, I wish it was more in the situation
or more in the light of these types of contexts.
But this is where I continue to accept this notion
even if I don't want to. The only way this
(22:09):
narrative is gonna change is if the Pistons continue to win,
and they have to find a way to win big.
Right now, the Pacers are sitting in the finals, and
so it's like, no matter what I want to say
about one, mister Halliburton, he's sitting in a position that
we all know we want our guy in. But it
is interesting, man, when you just kind of look at
the playoffs sets. That's Cage's first postseason run of twenty
five eight and eighty. Know, he got to shoot way
(22:32):
way better, obviously from the outside and just overall, but
the twenty five eight and eight with all the attention
on him, I'm telling you this right now, watch out
rest of the league, because he's figuring stuff out. This
is how we've seen him do And that to me
is where these noises and all this stuff about Tyree's
trust me, I probably have a completely different energy if
(22:53):
we weren't sitting here with a player in kid who
I know this next season beyond is about to be
absolutely insane. I think he gonna be. I think he's
going to cement himself as one of the faces of
this league. And I'm seeing other people out there now
in national media calling Kay Cunningham a superstar, while US
and the Chat family are going back or forth over
if Tyre's Tyler Burton is a star. And that's what
(23:14):
I told you when I kind of take the Detroit
and the Michigan headphones off. National media now is telling
me that kid is a top twenty, top fifteen player
and a superstar, a transcending towards or stepping towards superstar.
That's what people are believing, and that's where I'm glad
to see it changing. But again, trades and landon, they
y'all got to cook up the season this offseason.
Speaker 6 (23:34):
You do.
Speaker 5 (23:35):
But one of the things about Kay Cunningham, and I'm
gonna continue to hammer this home because there are people
in this chat shout out just a fan by the way,
don't miss you at all who have mental breakdowns when
I just mentioned.
Speaker 6 (23:50):
Stats. Who final said mentioned stats? It's not about stats,
It's about winning. It's about impact on the game.
Speaker 5 (24:00):
Really, because I'll tell you what in order to be
a superstar, in my opinion, and for the record, if
you say that my view of Kaid Cunningham is that
if I'm doing my club superstar, shout out Nick right,
I might put him as like the first name out
for now, but with the thought that but way above
(24:21):
Tyrese Haliburton.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
This stuff though, see I see you Big con fifty one.
I don't care if Kate is a superstar. If he
isn't playing in the finals, who the FK is? If
he is a star for superstar, where's our superstar? In
can kun? Winning matters? Teams matter? Actually teams, actual team.
He's just said teams matter. What Bro, this is the
whole aspect of the narrative. This is this is the
(24:44):
whole exercise. And by the way, he's been in Texas
running camps, his Detroit All Stars, the Texas All Stars,
to CE two All Stars. They've been winning games. So
shout out to k cunning and giving back to multiple
age groups back home. That's what Kay has been spending
his time doing, getting better and giving back. That is
star And for me, it does matter. This whole notion
of I don't care if he's a super star IV
(25:04):
he's sitting in Cancun his this is what people do
in this first postseason run.
Speaker 6 (25:08):
It's ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
That's what I'm saying, and one of the best postseason
runs we've seen from a Pistons player win. You don't
even have a run this good from anyone on the
two thousand and four Pistons. Richard Hamilton didn't even I
believe he averaged won twenty three twenty four points a game.
That's what I'm saying. When you talk about just to
sheer magnitude in his first one, think about how much
we glazed Tayshaun Prince's first playoff run, and that's what
(25:31):
I'm saying. It's it's insane. You go back even to
the Grand Hill era, these are the stats that are
gonna challenge his. You go back to Isaiah Thomas, those
are the stats that are gonna challenge his as it
relates to first time in the playoffs. And guess what,
they almost had an opportunity to move on. People talking about, well,
Holly's hurt, like like Stu wasn't there one of the
most our most impactful defensive player literally didn't play all
(25:54):
of the whole series. He was hurt actually in the
first game and played through it. That's the whole thing.
It's amazing the way the narratives go. But the the
one place that we do come back Coom Bay as
this No matter what the truth is, the recognition is
not gonna be there without the wins. And that's yeah
a game.
Speaker 5 (26:11):
Yeah yeah, And kid's gotta shoot better from three like
like like like, I've always said that three point percentage
was gross, and I'm not gonna defend it. I'm not
even going going to try. But uh, Tyrese Haliburn's three
point percentage in the finals isn't that great either for
the record, And just one more thing on this because
I wanted to uh mention this because I do think
that Tyrese Haliburton, because he's gotten propped up by the
(26:32):
game winning shots, is being treated like a make a
Wish kid, not like a superstar who's been held to standards.
Because even with games like this, even games where he
would score what like ten points, you're.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Calling him the team manager who got in the game
and made a couple of threes.
Speaker 5 (26:49):
Exactly, not exactly the way he's being treated.
Speaker 4 (26:53):
Oh shit, the kids got game.
Speaker 6 (26:57):
He's a good player. He's a good player.
Speaker 5 (26:58):
But like, even during moments like this, do you know
what I have to keep hearing? Oh you box score
watchers don't know ball he's got impact on the game
that it goes beyond the stats. Here's what I will
say though, for the record, that's bullshit. He has some impact,
but it's not as much as you think. When you
look at the history of all time superstars like the
(27:20):
finals MVPs, when you look at MJ with his six,
Lebron with his four, Kobe with his two, Shack with
his three. You look at Giannis in twenty twenty one,
Curry in twenty twenty two, Y'll Get You twenty twenty three.
You look at AKD's two in seventeen eighteen, Isaiah thomas
Is in nineteen ninety, Magic Johnson's three in the eighties,
(27:41):
Larry Birds two in the eighties. They also impact the
box score heavily Kareem in nineteen eighty five, Wade and
six Dirk in twenty eleven.
Speaker 6 (27:51):
There are only there are a.
Speaker 5 (27:53):
Finite amount of examples of guys who've won finals MVPs
that didn't packed the box score heavily. I can think
of two off the top of my head. I can
think of twenty fifteen Andrea Iguidala. I can think of
twenty fourteen Kawhi Leonard, although the Spurs that in that
series they played one of the most beautiful brands of
team basketball I've ever seen. Even shoon Z billups an
(28:15):
four average over twenty points a game. Even Paul Pierce
on that Big Three that the Celtics created, average over
twenty points a game. Joe Dumars when he won his
Finals MVP in nineteen eighty nine, average twenty seven a game.
In order to be a true superstar, you have to
impact the box score as well. If you're one of
(28:36):
those impact on the game guys that isn't calculated by.
Speaker 6 (28:39):
The box score, then you know what you are. You're
a role player. You know what you are.
Speaker 5 (28:44):
Tyre's Haliburton. You're a glorified Robert Lorriy, That's what you are.
Average more than fifteen points a game in the Finals.
Show me something in game six, in game seven, so
I can shut the f up, I bet you won't.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
I wonder what people would have said during like Zeke's
first playoff run. It's amazing how much we're able to
sit back and celebrate, oh for and celebrate the bad boys.
But I don't think people understand how they got there.
That's my like, like that's the crazy narrative because I
see even Big Conn in the chat and all this others.
I don't want Kay to be a superstar national level.
I want to be a superstar for Detroit. He already is.
(29:17):
He's the reason why people are actually tuning in. He's
the one that they're at that National media is putting
on all of the graphics. Like when you look at
the Lions, they're literally using Dan Campbell and commercials in it.
When you look at the Pistons, they're using kid because
it's Caad. Who else has that appeal? Like I don't.
I'm not even I'm not gonna say anything. I about
to say something about another player and their marketing. But
(29:39):
with Kai, it's like I saw this firsthand that nobody
wanted to talk about anything else at All Star weekend naturally,
so nobody was asking about anything else other than literally
Cad and that's and we had a star there. So
that's to me. It's where I'm just like, I don't
understand this, this narrative with some Detroit fans who are
unwilling to just get behind the guy who when national
(30:01):
media is telling you we looking at this guy's a
star and a Superstar. Didn't you have to understand these
are the guys who are voting. What has Rod been
telling us It's tough to get Detroit to be seen
this way. Now we got a guy who's finally getting that,
and now we don't have Detroit fans wanting to be
on board with that. That's just I don't know, it's
mind boggles. We'll give people that respect respected to think
(30:22):
how you think, but I just don't understand that we'll
get behind some of the most Detroit rats of Detroit
rats and all their imperfections and will zero in on
well man, Thecaid's turnovers. Go look at the top twenty.
I just had to look at the top twenty NBA.
Look at some of the superstars and all stars as
you will see there.
Speaker 5 (30:39):
I mean, Luca Dongers has led the NBA in turnovers
before and nobody says shit. And I know right only kid,
by the way, it only happens to Gate cunning out
D n C E n T because for some reason,
and this is what we're talking about, he wants to
say that it'd being a hypocrite when it comes.
Speaker 6 (30:55):
To I'll just read it. It's crazy.
Speaker 5 (30:57):
Chauncey was just as unimpactful in two thousand and four
as Tyres this year, Yet one is celebrated twenty years
later and Sam Shit's on the other one. Every chance,
dnz et, would you like a quick history lesson? In
the two thousand and four NBA Finals, Chauncey Billups actually
did something. Tyrese Helbert is not doing average twenty points
(31:18):
a game.
Speaker 6 (31:18):
He averaged twenty one. Do you know what his shooting
splits are? Motherfucker? When scoring wasn't as high fifty one
forty seven ninety three. Tyrese Haliburton is shooting under thirty
percent from three in the finals. Under thirty percent from
three in the finals.
Speaker 5 (31:38):
Shut up and stop looking to prop up another guy
over our guy just because you hate what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (31:44):
That's ridiculous this when.
Speaker 4 (31:46):
I said, it doesn't seem like people actually understand how
the Pistons got there. They just say stuff. That's the thing.
We were watched it. We saw Chauncey literally go to
another level. They were throwing traps in was at this guy.
It didn't matter. Gary Payton was no longer the glove.
It did not fit. I promise you that not in
that series and Kobe Bryant could do nothing with Chauncy.
(32:09):
It sounds insane. It sounds insane, but I watched it
with my own eyes. They couldn't. They literally, the Lakers
could not stop Chauncey Billups. That was the crazy thing.
And he could have had more, but it was so
much working. You want to talk about gravity in that series,
he had the Lakers like scared. Everywhere he moved, they
were moving and it would just assists, assist assists. They
(32:31):
couldn't do nothing with Rip. Who's the Pistons all time
leading playoffs score?
Speaker 7 (32:35):
You know?
Speaker 4 (32:35):
So godly? Man. I wish sometimes I do wish the
people who didn't get the opportunity to really see those
things happen. I wish they got an opportunity. But I
see you over the intern Ryan, what though? Yeah you
look rare to go. Man, I'm wondering which side of
the fence you're gonna be on here, because sometimes it's truth,
sometimes it's troll with you.
Speaker 7 (32:54):
Oh, I'm not trolling today, even though TJ McConnell's ago.
I love that guy.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
After but passed what I what I was.
Speaker 7 (33:00):
Talking about or what I was thinking of, and when
I was watching the game yesterday was first off, Doris
Burke had a stat where Halberton was zero for nine
from three, like from the Friday game, from game four
and then this was like midway through the third quarter.
But my other thing that just watching as Flannel was
saying the impact on the game. If you are a superstar,
(33:20):
why are you catching the ball five feet off the
three point line and then just passing the ball off
to some one on the wing. You are not taking
the ball and you're not.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
How you keep because he's not taking the pressure or responsibility.
But that Kate chooses to take the risk and then
people want to just flay him for a turnover or
two more, which has no Do you understand how little
effect one or two more turnovers a game have. That's
the thing I'm talking about. Kay's actually saying, yo, put
my Koona's out there like Dan Campbell's not pussing going
(33:53):
four downs. This is the same thing. And I don't
know why people can't understand that. That's the part of
that I just don't get. Like Kate is going out
there saying I want fourteen percent more usage per game.
I will as you give me more uses. Guess what
turnover eight will be less it goes down. I will
have more rebounds, more assists, more points. I will make
(34:13):
sure that I get my teammate two or not better
than their more and more involved. And I'm not just
gonna sit out there and just say I can make
a perfect swing pass. I can make a perfect swing pass.
All the defense isn't paying attention to me. Hey, I'm
open now three and I'm dancing all over the court.
It's just like, bro, get that, get out of here.
I can respect you for playing your role will and
I do I have Like Honestly, I think the disdain
(34:36):
is probably more with the narrative than it is with
actually Tyrese Haliburton, because he's one of those your team bro,
Malik Beasley, he hit the three, He danced all over
the court, and we know we were shimmy at everywhere
man me and Kid kool Ai he hit the three.
I mean was watching the gay we all shimmying in there.
So I get that type of stuff. But these other narratives,
these other notions, That's what I'm saying, Like, when you
(34:57):
call that type of stuff all running, these are it's
like all people ever want to talk about. But he
had an end of the game shot and he has
no turnovers because he's doing so much less. He's taking
like little risk and he has a whole lot more.
Hope that's what that means, a lot more. I just
don't know why he doesn't make that much sense.
Speaker 5 (35:13):
And for the record, I know it's in the finals,
so people are gonna be like, but he's in the finals,
his turnovers in the finals as a low usage player. Hi,
as Marty morning Wegg would.
Speaker 4 (35:25):
Say, Willie b Side isn't in the finals yet. Tyres Halliburton,
the Pacers are in the finals. Halibro is in the finals, but.
Speaker 5 (35:35):
The Pacers are in the finals. That's what nobody can understand.
It's not Tyre's Halliburt and the Halliburton. That's the Pacers
are a great team. I respect the Pacers a lot. Actually,
just just I hate the Tyres Halibert.
Speaker 4 (35:46):
Tell you, Yeah, it was mid way through the season,
all Star break, and I told you we got a
real we gotta come to terms. We're not catching them.
We said it, We said, okay, but can we get
to fifth? They made a good push. We knew they
probably could have gotten it, but we knew the matchup
that was desires shout out.
Speaker 5 (36:03):
To New Yeah, and so the record the Pistons. Obviously
they lost to the Knicks, but they didn't want pacer problems.
They would have probably lost the Pacers to which is
which is fine, but I think he would have individually
outplayed Alley.
Speaker 4 (36:15):
But I hold to wear my passion and no sports
is about anger, seriously, but to wear our passion to
make sure that you guys know that this stuff actually
does matter to us, even when it don't matter to y'all.
That to me is what we're going to represent and
the talk Hoops talk Pistons with all my passion, especially
with the perspective we have right now while our Pistons
are just starting to take off. I remember growing up
(36:36):
in the Pistons winning and ESPN the next day did
what they would talk about just the Lakers. Now we
have an opportunity to actually talk about these narratives with
the perspective that we have, and we know that this
it does resonate. So I'm gonna definitely use that opportunity
to go out there and put the cape on for
our guys. I'll tell you this, it was kind of nice, y'all,
gotta emit. It's kind of nice seeing my man Flannel
(36:58):
put on a cap for somebody from the two thousand
and four Pistons. Absolutely, what if he could?
Speaker 5 (37:04):
There's whips was the finals MVP? And just one more
quick thing before we move on, because I think we
also need to give the Thunders some credit. I know
we're doing a lot of N B A, but this
is the finals. But uh, Willie B what if I
changed it to Pascal is in the finals, because Pascal
Siaka was the actual conference finals MVP.
Speaker 6 (37:25):
But if I said that around people, people would call
me a name.
Speaker 4 (37:28):
You imagine.
Speaker 6 (37:32):
They might still be playing right now?
Speaker 4 (37:35):
Might They would have Burton just topic.
Speaker 5 (37:40):
Pas the best player, the best player on the on
the Pacers. Halberton is a very fine Robin because he
was there. Who wasn't there?
Speaker 6 (37:55):
Overrated?
Speaker 5 (37:56):
Oh so overrated, anybody, Jim Rome, that's gonna ages the
worst tweet of all time.
Speaker 6 (38:00):
He's so overrange.
Speaker 4 (38:01):
Remember right now that they had an all star teammate
like Tyrese does.
Speaker 6 (38:05):
Yeah, it'll be nice.
Speaker 4 (38:07):
Hey, you know what, let's double up here, double a triple.
Speaker 8 (38:10):

today we got Cavasia Chase holding down multiple capacities in
the sound booth. What were sports MVP and a TV
TD booth JB Smooth and as we're giving you know,
some uh some some some omas to to some of
(45:22):
our guys here, we gotta tip the cap a little
bit as well to the Okay, see Thunder and I
get yeah, I get SGA flop March and all of
that stuff. He's taking advantage of what the NBA is
giving him. I don't necessarily like it, but the Thunder
are a solid freaking team. Bro, They're really really good.
Speaker 6 (45:39):
Well that's the thing.
Speaker 1 (45:40):
Sg A.
Speaker 5 (45:41):
You can like him or you can't, but he's the
MVP of the National Basketball Association and if they if
the Thunder are able to hold on, which I think
they will. By the way, my prediction that the Pacers
were gonna win after Game three looks to be a
little bit wrong, which I'm happy to be wrung. By
the way, he'll probably be Finals MVP, and with s
he does something that Tyrese Haliburton doesn't do like all
(46:03):
the other superstars I mentioned do they impact the box
score as well as winning, and he's been great.
Speaker 6 (46:09):
But what really.
Speaker 5 (46:11):
Ups the ceiling of this team which makes me believe
that I don't think they're gonna go down as an
all time great team, but they have all time great
team moments when Jalen Williams is dropping forty and they
have twenty seven stocks to the Pacers thirteen, with chet
Holmgern absolutely dominating defensively, SGA getting six stocks by himself,
(46:36):
and people like Caruso and Cason Wallace getting four steels
a piece. That's some dominant type of that's a dominant
NBA team, and the OKC Thunder you can see them
at least in spurts, particularly Game two and last night,
when they are playing at their best. There was never
gonna be a team in the NBA that was going
(46:56):
to beat them, and I personally believe that they end
up closing it out in six if they keep playing
like this, they will.
Speaker 4 (47:03):
They will and I do give them credit, and you know,
I mean I always will tend things back to because
Detroit has finally given us the opportunity to talk about this.
How does this affect them? How does things like line
up for them? Because as special as Okay See is,
the Pacers have shown a blueprint and I do believe
that the Pistons, with just a few minor tweets, can
be in a position to not just have an opportunity
(47:25):
to get to the finals, but to actually have a
chance to compete, and that, to me, is what ultimately matters.
You're seeing that though they are good, though I believe
they are poised to win the championship this year, I
do believe that Okay See Thunder are they're not unbeatable,
and that to me, it makes me that much more
encouraged as a Pistons fan because I believe that both
(47:46):
these teams in the finals, they are the blueprint. They're
built similarly to I believe what the Pistons can be
and that to me is what makes me know that
the Pistons are on the right path in this current
era of where NBA basketball is trip.
Speaker 5 (48:00):
Yeah, no, and that's and I do respect the Thunder
and I do believe that when they're all, when like
everything is firing, that they that they are clearly the
best team in the NBA. But you've also seen that
you can knock them off their game. I mean, Jalen
Williams wasn't super effective in the first couple of games.
They were able to Stemy Sga the Pacers as much
(48:23):
as you possibly can in Game three, and of course,
when it comes to role players, you just never know.
Sometimes the role players are gonna step up and sometimes
they aren't. And I love this from a Freddy Felt
three to one three because hey, you're you're supporting the
Pacers and and I appreciate you. Chet Holmgren is a
skeleton with the beard. And I'll tell you this, Chet
(48:44):
Holmgren offensively has really not this series and in my opinion,
never really became what I thought he was going to be.
I thought he was going to be a better NBA
player than Powello. Look to be wrong at this point,
but I will say this, the defensive impact that he
had last night a lotong with all the other Thunder
who are impacting the game defensively, that was worth its
(49:04):
weight in gold in last night's situation when the Thunder
absolutely had to have it.
Speaker 6 (49:09):
So yeah, Chet Holmgren.
Speaker 5 (49:10):
He's obviously so skeletal looking that it's alarming, but he's
impacting moments in this series, even if he hasn't quite
become what he was propped up to be.
Speaker 4 (49:21):
I see a lounge box. He says. Pistons are no
way close to okay See. I thought that there was
no way that the Pacers. I thought that this was
gonna be honestly an easier series for okay See. I
really did. We know the battles that the Pistons and
Pacers had and have just a little bit more to
go to be able to catch them. I don't believe
that the Pistons are on the left of okay See
or even the Pacers, but I do believe with the
right tweets, the Pistons are not far away. They literally
(49:44):
have everything you need to go out there and strike
a deal for a very impactful player, and if they
do that, that will put them that much closer to
what the okay see Thunder are and I believe that
that will help them pass where you see the Pacers
at right now. That as well as if they retain
guys like Beasley or in a shooter. They got the
four draft picks that they that they can now trade.
(50:07):
It's been literally this entire restore era, this four or
five years where they have not been able to do that.
Now they have that opportunity with bunch of young players
that honestly look attractive to other teams in the league.
So if the Pistons want to do something, they actually
can't as currently constructed already close to okay see no.
But with the assets that they have, can they accelerate things?
(50:29):
Yes they can, just like we saw with the Pacers
and we saw tybe toll about you look, get his
box square. You got two years in the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (50:36):
Yeah, think about that now.
Speaker 5 (50:37):
And that's where I don't think the Pistons are close
to the Thunder quite yet. But if you're the Indiana Pacers,
and this is where I'm gonna sound disrespectful again, but
it's just reality. If you put the Pistons roster up
against the Pacers, Kate is the best player of those
two teams. When when you're a team whose best player
(50:58):
is Pascal Siakam, you're not infallible and no direspect to
Pascal Siakam. He's a damn fine player. He honestly is
one of those guys that may end up having an
underrated and Hall of Fame case someday.
Speaker 6 (51:10):
But you understand what I'm saying. Pascal Siakam is.
Speaker 5 (51:13):
Not Kid Cunningham in terms of ceiling and in terms
of a player. So I do think the Pistons are
close closer to the A than you think.
Speaker 4 (51:20):
If Siakam came here, Kid would still be the best
player on the team. Percent that's the difference. But you
still need those types of players here for k Cunningham.
And that's where I do believe in this grim and
the chat let Trajan Cook. This is where when you say,
let Trajan cook, and we're gonna talk about this more
in the coming weeks, this is where, even if he
does something different than what I want him to do,
if he doesn't go out there and get that star,
(51:41):
impactful player, I do believe in the vision of Trajan
langdon I believe in his long term effect in his
long term outlook, especially with Black the Stone and some
of the guys that got in the front office. They
understand the cap, they understand the second apron, they understand
how all these things are working. They understand the impact
that That's why the Shrewder move was one where I
was like, you know what, Yes, we have to come
(52:03):
on here and give our opinions, but I'm gonna shut
up at whatever Trajan Lane it does. We'll definitely criticize
the things, we'll talk about it in the moment, but ultimately,
Trajan is one of those guys who I'm sitting right
now like, you know what, I might have to push
the fast track button on the trust in Trajan. I
do believe he's gonna cook. It's gonna be this offseason
or next offseason. I'm not gonna flip my lid if
he doesn't get it done this offseason because I believe
(52:25):
that they have everything in their power to make the
right move and to make sure this is exactly it.
It's a better crop of potentially disgruntled stars and high
level role players next year than there are this year.
Speaker 5 (52:39):
Absolute yes, and speaking of this no, by the way,
shut out Booner again for being in the chat.
Speaker 6 (52:45):
You guys are doing a great shot by Booners as well.
Speaker 5 (52:48):
Thank you again. But Jordan Gebben in the with the
four Nite Nighte super chests, I was to retain their
whole team. Who could the Piston snag on their team?
And when I'm just looking at the Thunder free agents,
They've got a lot of guys with club options.
Speaker 6 (53:03):
Their only uf A is uh j y l i
N Williams. They have two.
Speaker 5 (53:09):
Jalen Williams is the one who's the UFA is the
one that's not as good, but he's a solid player.
But yeah, Jay, the other Jalen Williams is an r
F A. Cason Wallace has a club option, Lou Dort
has a club option. Chet Holmgren's a r F A.
Isaiah Hartenstein, Yeah, Isaiah Hartenstein with a club option. I
(53:31):
think the Thunder will be able to run it back
almost entirely intact. They're gonna be They're gonna be formidable.
They could they could be multiple time champions. It wouldn't
shock me at all.
Speaker 8 (53:40):
I Mean there is one guy on that team though,
that uh one Mister t Foss was talking about that
to pissons, neat.
Speaker 11 (53:46):
That little scrappy guy Alex Caruso.
Speaker 5 (53:49):
Every team needs an Alex carus Yeah, I mean I
always talk about this. Nobody felt the absence of Alex
Caruso more than Lebron and a D And of course
he got traded.
Speaker 4 (54:01):
And keep thinking off the bench, thinking about alas Caruso
and Isaiya's too it off the bench type.
Speaker 5 (54:05):
Stuff just rat that just like rat, just absolute rats, dirtautarting.
Speaker 4 (54:12):
With because with them though, And that's where I really,
I really really liked the idea of it, because sometimes
you're gonna have a hard time or a difficult time
creating offense with your second unit. But what didn't we
see the four Pistons do well? Like how many plays
do you really remember them? The only play was like, okay,
(54:33):
throw it to the big, to the big nasty Corlas Williamson.
Other than that, you know what, I remember Lindsey Hunter
and Mike James, the pit bulls harassing people in the turnovers.
I remember the Pistons gobbling up the rebounds with their
with their with their backup bigs and getting out on
the bright creating their own offense. And you have to
have a certain amount of nasty. To be able to
do that, you have to have a certain amount of
(54:53):
Detroit rats, as te Foss.
Speaker 6 (54:55):
Will say, to be able to do that.
Speaker 4 (54:56):
That's why I want to see those guys, and I
see Randall Small. We're gonna talk about this more tomorrow.
He says that cool. And I heard the name Odama
from Memphis. That's a possibility to the Pistols. What do
you think, Hey, listen, go back watch last week's pod.
We talked about him, and we might have to do
a side podcast where we break down more of Santi
Aldama because they're saying it's actually more and more possible
that that might be the guy that Pistons can get
(55:17):
it and I believe as restricted.
Speaker 6 (55:19):
Yeah, and I believe that's on our Woodward Pistons page.
Speaker 5 (55:22):
Yes. Yeah, So go back and watch the last one
if you want to hear a more detailed breakdown of
us Santi al Dama as a possibility. Random smalls. But
that's that's a that's a great question. Yeah, thank you
for the super chat, and who knows, we might talk
about it more and it could be something that is
actualized because we're not the only Detroit Pistons space talking
about Santi al.
Speaker 4 (55:42):
Dama because porter Bobby Portis. Yeah, I heard his price
is going on. He not gonna be the cheap gate
that we thought. I heard that he's gonna be probably
in total contract value, like maybe ten to fifteen million
total behind Nasrien. I mean, I guess it's a lot
for Bobby Portters on this business tea.
Speaker 6 (56:01):
It is.
Speaker 5 (56:02):
But at the end of the day, I mean, if
you're Bobby Portis, do you really have to accept something cheap?
I mean, I get it, he's not perfect, but how
much do the twenty twenty one Milwaukee Bucks have to
thank Bobby Portis for that championship? Obviously he's not what
like Giannis and Middleton and Drew Holliday were like to
(56:23):
that team, but he was a valuable cog. I mean,
he's a He's a damn good role player, that's what
he is.
Speaker 4 (56:28):
Yep. And I saw Cam the from the nets is
also now somebody's entering back into those trade talks and
a guy being on the block, so you know, I
don't necessarily like the injury history, but that boy could
shoot the lights out. He would definitely talk about creating
space for k He would do it. He's already locked
into a contract at what twenty million a year? That
actually wouldn't be a bad deal for the Pistons to
(56:50):
look at.
Speaker 6 (56:51):
Yep and a DNZ E n T what Sam.
Speaker 5 (56:53):
Loves Alex Caruso, But the box score guys, Alex Caruso
is a known rat player. Tyrese Haliburton is elevated like
he's having a playoff run akin to twenty twenty three Yokic.
There's a difference. It's about how it's covered, not the players.
And by the way, Caruso is closer to Halliburton in
(57:14):
the NBA pantheon than anybody wants to admit.
Speaker 6 (57:16):
He's not there. He's not better than Aliburton, but he's
closer than you think.
Speaker 4 (57:20):
Hey, let's rotten man, Let's right, But you know, shout
out to the thunder. I believe, like I said, both
of these teams done, and the Pacers have set the blueprint.
The one thing that's been toughest seeing the Pacers have
this success, But the one thing that's been easy to
do is to be able to call it out and say,
you know what, they're doing it the right way. We
said it before the playoffs started. The Pacers actually built
for the playoffs before the postseason. Third, when we looked
(57:40):
at how things were going, we saw the Pistons were battling,
and we saw the Pacers were battling early on, it
was like, yeah, that's Cam Johnson, dn C E and C.
Cam Johnson is the one that they're talking about putting
back out on the on the on the trade block.
But that's where I say I am I am excited
because I believe that there are different levels when I
look at these teams. You look at the OKC thunder,
who we believe can be running things championship wise for
(58:03):
the foreseeable future. Then you look at the Pacers, who
they're still ahead of the Pistons.
Speaker 6 (58:06):
We have to admit a person.
Speaker 4 (58:08):
But then you look at the Knicks, who we thought
were hehead of the Pistons, and though they beat us,
we can tell they might be right there. This was
one where there was just blow, blow blow, somebody, somebody's
gonna get knocked out. Everybody was wobbling knees at that
point in time. So you know, I look at the
Pistons now as a team that is you have to
have that target on the back of the Pacers who
represented the East in the finals this year. Some of
(58:30):
these other squads, like the Celtics, they're gonna go through
some dysfunction even if the Bucks get you on his back.
We saw that there was a path for the Pistons
to pass them, but they started resting players towards the
end of the season, managing their positioning and I understand
their matchups. That's just smart business.
Speaker 5 (58:45):
And Danan Lillard's not gonna play next year. Jason Tatum's
not gonna play next year. The East is wide open
and just to bring it back the magic.
Speaker 6 (58:52):
They knew that they struck the Pistons.
Speaker 5 (58:56):
We'll see if they end up striking and interesting what
up though with with with Detroit Gundy, TLB or t TV,
Please and thank you.
Speaker 6 (59:05):
Your wish is my command. We're gonna TLB when we come.
Speaker 5 (59:08):
Back, because that's talk Lions bitch and Brad Holmes did
an interview on a podcast with Chris Long talking about
the edge rushing room and he was, as supposed to
Darius Smith, We're gonna go over that and then if
we have time, we will preview the Tigers series against
the Pirates because the Tigers losing a series to the
(59:28):
Reds and a vacuum isn't the worst thing in the world,
but we'd like to see them get back on track
and at least win the series the Pirates.
Speaker 6 (59:34):
So we're gonna break it down definitely.
Speaker 4 (59:35):
I see what I'm doing with the Troy gunnies. Is
kool a that Tigers had this crispy look award for
the Mojo. Let's get things kick back off, right, It's all.
Speaker 6 (59:43):
Tigers, Man Tigers, shut out Tigers.

(01:04:32):
They have been giving us a sixty eight. It's like
the sixty nine, but I owe you one, you know,
And I'm like, I'm catching it on that I owe you.
Speaker 4 (01:04:38):
Yeah, that's worth a few likes. Man sounds to Cavasi
hold it down. And you know what, Brad Holmes. Trust
in Brad Holmes. He's been saying some things over the
years that gets some fans like, huh for real? And
you know what, I'm wondering how people are gonna feel
about these comments that he had with player Chris Longs.
Speaker 5 (01:05:00):
This was actually taken from It's out there in many
different forms, but this was on Easy, our very own
Easy from the Woodward Hates Heavyweights his X page so
and his caption to this, by the way from Easy
was I'm not sure if big Z is a coming back,
but we're gonna talk about it, and we're gonna have
you guys listen as well as us, and we're gonna
(01:05:22):
interpret it in the way that we see fit.
Speaker 6 (01:05:25):
Hopefully you guys will too. Go ahead. JB.
Speaker 4 (01:05:26):
Smooth.
Speaker 14 (01:05:28):
Oh, and I read something this morning about big Z
possibly coming back. I thought that was one of the
most impactful signings of the year on any team. Yeah,
talk about pulling a rabbit out of your hat. I
love his game and it showed up in Detroit. So
what's it looked like out on the edge.
Speaker 15 (01:05:41):
Yeah, so, you know, Aiden looks great, man, he's been
out there in OTAs. Really didn't expect anything else. You
never truly truly know. You don't have a crystal ball,
but just knowing how that guy's wired and how he
attacks things in how in tune he is with his body,
(01:06:02):
it did not surprise me. I mean he's out there,
he looks explosive, he's changed the direction. I mean, he looks.
Speaker 2 (01:06:09):
Really good man.
Speaker 15 (01:06:10):
And then we brought back Marcus Davenport on a one
year deal. He was playing really good football for US
before he unfortunately got hurt. Man, And so hopefully he
gets better luck on his side and so uh, and
he's been out there and I would say he looks
(01:06:30):
just as good man like he has been. He's his
body is feeling great. His body looks great man. And
he had he had a good summer as well in
terms of the ot as. And then you know we
had we brought al KaDee Mohammed back that we signed
last year, who lost some good, good good snaps for us,
(01:06:52):
played good football, plays hard. Uh, he's physical, he'll set
edges and man, he plays with a lot of effort.
And then we were able to draft I'm at Hassan
nine from Boys in the sixth round and he's just
another guy. He's got some work to do from a
developmental standpoint, just like they all do. But he's not
(01:07:15):
some fish out of water, just raw, don't know what
he's doing out there. I mean, when you look at
his production, he had the most in terms of saxony
and pressures combined the past two years, he had the
most production out of all the edge rushers.
Speaker 4 (01:07:32):
In that class.
Speaker 15 (01:07:33):
And just what happens that he plays with his hair
on fire as well, So we feel good about where
we're at at that position.
Speaker 6 (01:07:42):
All right.
Speaker 5 (01:07:43):
So that was Brad Holmes talking to Chris Long and
I feel like this vindicates what I said on a
previous show. And this isn't what I think, and this
isn't me wanting to be right. This is just me
getting into the mind of Brad Holmes. I think you've
used Zdarias Smith as a luxury and you could, obviously
you could if you wanted to interpret this as we're
(01:08:04):
not going to talk about Zadaria Smith. We're gonna kind
of skirt the question. We're only gonna talk about the
guys who are in house for the Lions right now.
And I get that. But the way he was propping
up Marcus Davenport, the way that he was propping up
Aqm Hassenin, I think that Brad Holmes feels like what
they have in house right now is enough. Notice he
(01:08:25):
barely even He completely basically glossed over the fact that
Marcus Davenport was hurt. All he saw was somebody who
was playing good football for the Lions in all two games.
Speaker 6 (01:08:35):
But that's all that he really sees.
Speaker 5 (01:08:37):
He completely glossed over the fact that he got Aqm
from the practice squad. All he sees is that when
AQM was up there and playing that he did some
good things. He doesn't see Ahmad Hasanin as like another
Giovanni Manu. I think he sees Hasenin as somebody who
it's like, yeah, you guys think he's raw because he
played didn't play football until later than life, he was
(01:08:58):
born in Egypt, et cetera. But this is a guy
that had insane production in college. And obviously when talking
about Aiden, we all know what the type of superstar
that he is. So I think I think Brad Holmes
is comfortable with or without Zadarius Smith. I still think
Ze is more essential than some people do, but Brad
(01:09:20):
Holmes feels comfortable. And I think that this completely confirms
everything that I said that Brad Holmes he's he's fine
with or without Zadarias Smith.
Speaker 4 (01:09:27):
And that was one of the things that we talked about,
you know, maybe about a month month and a half ago,
and we said, you know what, this is his plan.
This is what he's effectively defensive line wise, He's running
back what he started last year with, proving that he
believes in his vision and that injuries aren't necessarily One
of his larger determining factors. I would think, hey, let's
(01:09:50):
go with some more healthy players. And we've seen him
go and and not necessarily target, but at least draft
some of those guys. But I now realize and recognize
even more so, I don't think I had anything really
to do with the injury history. If the Dodgers believe
that they're gonna be good no matter what their past is,
I believe that Brad Holmes is good to go. And
so you look at the signings he's done, and you
look at the people he paid. It's our guys, but
(01:10:12):
it's guys who are coming back from injuries and such.
That's the only component of it that makes me just
a little bit concerned. But again, in the vacuum, this
team one, this team has been winning. They've only been
treading up under these Brad Holmes and so far the
things that we believe would trip them up just have
it do. I believe that Areas needs to be on
the team. Absolutely. Part of me wonders, though, how much
(01:10:35):
of it is Brad, Like, all right, already, me and
Z already talked, We already know what the deal is.
I address this with people already, so they know what
it is because I do believe that there is a
number that works for the Lions that might not work
for Big Z. But if Big Z is like, you
know what, we could do something special this year. We
already know that Brad said that they did talk, and
so I do wonder how much of that goes into
(01:10:56):
what he would talk about, because you're right, he went
out of his way. It almost seemed like and I
I feel bad thing going out of his way because
it's his guys, it's his team, and you're a month
and a half away from the first preseason game. Think
about that, So I think that he is going to
effectively do what he's always done. They've been truthful, they've
shown the light where they believe it needs to be shined,
and largely those notions have come to truth. So if
(01:11:20):
he's saying that these guys guys that are gonna go
out there and be dogs of a different nature even
in what we expected and even more than what we
saw in the past, wire to the point where it's
all right, we gotta trust in Brad. But you're right
for there to be no mention of Zadarius Smith, it's
just like man, especially with you know what, we hear
out of zadarias Smith. We see him making all the overtures,
we see him representing Detroit on national stages and out
(01:11:42):
when he's with cast Off, and when he was asked
point blank period about it, he said, it's gonna happen soon.
So that's what makes me believe maybe they have some
type of Hey, this is what we could make happen
if this were to happen. And if that's the case,
good on Brad Holmes so having his vision, having his plan,
because I do believe this, when you're talking about building
some long term success, you really want a system that
(01:12:04):
other players are gonna know and respect from the beginning,
even if it doesn't job with them. And I do
believe that this sets of precedence with other players that
they may have to bring in. May sign may come
from the outside, and you're gonna have to play some
type of ball with Brad Holmes because of Look, you
would see other people when the Patriots and how they
viewed their team, even though they were winning Super Bowls,
(01:12:26):
they still put a premium on their team. And so
if you were gonna come there, sometimes you knew I
gotta cut the deal to come there, I know what
I'm stepping into. I do hope that if Brad Holmes
is doing that I took the capitol.
Speaker 5 (01:12:37):
Yeah, if Brad Holmes is able to get this done
for a cheaper deal than before, that's a genius level
GMing and I will come here the next day and
glaze Brad Holmes to the like it like he's a
Krispy Kreme donut.
Speaker 4 (01:12:51):
But you do believe that he should go kind of
above a little bit above I mean as a relations
to signing and Darius Smith, because that's that's the tough part.
Like I believe, like you said, and we've benched this before,
that Brad believes in his defensive line even though I'm
just like man big Z is sitting right there.
Speaker 5 (01:13:08):
I do I think that here's what I think. I
think that if Zdarius Smith is going to come here,
that it's going to be at a bit of a
hometown discount for him. But I also think, and I
get it, he hasn't been signed anywhere else, so this
might not be the most strong argument, but I don't
think that he necessarily has to accept something that is
(01:13:30):
below what he's earned, because, as I've laid out before,
in the last three seasons when you combine all of
them over a fifteen percent pressure rate. Had a great
season last year, nine sacks. Half of the season he
was as the edge rusher. One was very effective opposite
Miles Garrett. The year in twenty twenty three was very effective.
(01:13:51):
I think over ten sacks in twenty twenty two opposite
to Neil Hunter.
Speaker 6 (01:13:54):
He's a damn good player.
Speaker 5 (01:13:55):
He could probably get a more expensive deal, but I
do think that he wants to play for the Lions
more than damn near anything, and we love him for that.
Speaker 4 (01:14:06):
And with Big Z, I do want to say this
because we did say this before, that we believe is
a Super Bowl winning move, not that we believe that
the Lions aren't equipped right now get there. And so
I do want to I want to I want to
kind of paint that picture as I kind of go
to the chat. There's something here that I dive with
Nick Hedigen. Well, if you look at the Lions before injuries,
(01:14:27):
they were up twenty plus at halftime. He's g If
you look at the Lions after the injury, there were
games where they were still going out there and beating
teams so cold, and that's where I do wonder sometimes
if my perspective on this thing as it relates to
what Brad should do and what the Detroit Lions need,
I just wonder like, is it as easy as what
Brad is making it out to be or is it
(01:14:47):
more akin to what we're talking about? Because I do
know this, I believe that a more effective pass rush
helps this Detroit Lions team. We're I'm not even saying
to go out there right now and get Hendrix and
even though if you can make that happen, you make
that and then you're talking about one of the best,
you know, bookings in football and as you've put it before,
maybe in history. Yeah, but if you can at least
(01:15:08):
go out there and get not just depth, but a
guy who really led this unit when everything else around
him was falling down and he wants to be here,
That's what I'm just like, Man, just make it happen.
But yeah, how much do we need to put it
into or view what this Lions team did underneath Brad Holmes,
underneath Dan Campbell, despite the injuries as well as the
year before when they were a lot more healthy. They
(01:15:31):
they have.
Speaker 5 (01:15:31):
Beforreed, Brad Holmes is an excellent GM. He's top five
in the NFL. I personally have him at four, but
it doesn't matter my rankings. He's he's firmly cemented in
the top five. And things seem to work out. Not everything, obviously,
but the vast majority seems to work out. And I'm
ready to say this on June seventeenth. And this isn't
(01:15:56):
like a super profound statement, but the more I hear
Brad Holmes talk, the more I'm willing to just like
go out on a limb. I think Marcus Davenport actually
has a big year, not like fifteen sacks as a bookend,
but plays between ten and fourteen games and gets at
least five sacks. And if he does that, and this
(01:16:18):
is Brad, imagine Brad Holmes, and you know that I've
talked about how sometimes I don't love his pettiness.
Speaker 6 (01:16:24):
Imagine how he's going to be with the media if
that happens.
Speaker 5 (01:16:27):
Because because Marcus Davenport is making nothing, it's incentive Leyden.
But even if he hits the incentives, it's not gonna
be an expensive contract for some reason.
Speaker 6 (01:16:38):
The more this goes on, the more I'm.
Speaker 5 (01:16:39):
Like Marcus Davenport might actually have a big impact on
this team.
Speaker 6 (01:16:44):
I hope he does.
Speaker 4 (01:16:45):
I see Ellen in the chat and there's a couple
questions that I saw pop up through this, and Elsa's
do you guys think Brad and Dan want to see
Allion's training camp without Ze to gage the talent to
see it, the younger or unknown talent. It's sufficient or not,
because it wouldn't be good to sign z than cut him.
And I understand that. But even if these guys are
good enough, I still don't understand the notion of not
(01:17:10):
having big T here. A guy that was just a
part of this team, a part of this culture, fit
in here, proved that he could handle even more responsibility
if it was given to him. These are knowns right now.
I have no problem with figuring out what else is
there and letting the vet kind of just do his
thing until you get closer to the season. But for
everything that we know about Zadaria Smith, we're talking about
(01:17:30):
one of the better pass rushers in the league. Flannel
is gone through all the stats for you guys, and
we got to see him live and in person, and
he's sitting at home. And this is where I saw
some people in the chat say you know it and
what up dough with Detroit. Gunny is one of those
guys who stated, I haven't heard any news or even
a single rumor about Zadaria Smith talking to even anybody else.
So I do wonder how much, like I said, how
(01:17:52):
much of that original conversation where Brad discussed the Darius Smith.
I wonder how much that's just that that's what the
There's a number out there and Big Z has just
been kind of chilling living his life, kind of knowing
I can always take this number, and it just keeps
everything mumble because the only rumors we have is between
him and the line.
Speaker 5 (01:18:11):
He wants to be here, He really wants to be here.
I see this from a I'm salty again, thank you
for the call yesterday. Davenport equals Moseley, and I'll say this,
there's a reason. Well that's not unfair though at this point,
and then that's why I wanted.
Speaker 6 (01:18:28):
To give that that credit.
Speaker 5 (01:18:29):
That's because that was one of the reasons why before
Marcus Davenport was re signed, I'd thought about it as
there's no way, how can you trust this guy to
stay healthy? But the more I keep hearing from from
Brad Holmes the more nothing really has gotten done, even
in terms of drafting and a free agency, which isn't
necessarily a bad.
Speaker 6 (01:18:49):
Thing, it's just a fact.
Speaker 5 (01:18:50):
I'm like, Brad Holmes really believes in Marcus Davenport, like
he could potentially be one of the more effective.
Speaker 6 (01:18:56):
Book ends in in.
Speaker 5 (01:18:58):
The NFL, and to be honest, there might be some
truth to that. But with Davenport, he's never really been
able to stay healthy and he's never really been a
high snap guy. That's one of the reasons I'd like
big z in. But I mean it could be it could.
Speaker 3 (01:19:13):
Be Dan too that has the faith in Davenport, coming
from New Orleans. They was part of the staff when
they drafted him too. This could be Dan telling Brad, hey,
this guy has the motor, he has the skills. If
he's healthy, he can be the impact player that we
need on this team. So I think I think everyone's
putting all of their eggs in the Brad basket when realistically,
like the link between Davenport and this team is through
(01:19:36):
Dan Campbell. So I mean, it could be Dan Campbell
who's championing for Marcus Davenport more than anything. We don't
really know, and.
Speaker 4 (01:19:42):
I know the one thing that even people who dislike
the move or believe, oh we should have gone with
somebody more healthy, the one place that I know we
all come by eye is believing this if he's healthy, he's.
Speaker 6 (01:19:52):
On a ball, that we're not going to be effective.
Speaker 4 (01:19:54):
He's going to be effective. Well that's probably, thank you,
that's probably more appropriate. He's going to be affected. I
and to me, I do know this. If this line
is healthy, and when they get into like week five
and week six, when last year we know that's when
they began to really hit the rhythm as a team,
this team is gonna be They're gonna be really, really
flipping good. That's the component of it. Or I keep
(01:20:15):
trying to pull myself back off of the edge because
I realized, all right, this team still has so much here,
and you're right when when you pull into the effect
that Dan Campbell of it all, I can't overlook that
Dan Campbell has been very very hands on with his
coaches and very very hands on with the personnel that
he utilizes. And so I'm hoping that we get Davinport.
(01:20:36):
I'm seeing some people in the chat that are kind
of just as nervously optimistic as as we're kind of
getting I'm seeing Greg maybe Davenport will surprise me.
Speaker 5 (01:20:44):
Yeah, maybe, like I said it would be, it's would
be a surprise. But at the end of the day, like,
the more time passes, the more I'm like, maybe it
does work. And at Chase, that was a good pull
by you, because when you look at Marcus Davenport's career,
his second most productive season, this was twenty nineteen. He
actually had six sacks and a sixteen quarterback hitch hits,
(01:21:06):
which sixteen quarterback hits is tied for his career high.
Dan Campbell was on that staff, so Dan Campbell is
acutely aware of what Marcus Davenport can be when he
plays not a full season, but a thirteen games. We'd
be happy with that. And it was a long time ago.
Don't get me wrong, but Davenport he was a I
barely count that he played last year, but I guess
(01:21:27):
he was effective in those two games. Not trying to
be condescending, it's what happened.
Speaker 4 (01:21:31):
Let's take let's take a quick win and come back.
There's some good comments here, including Sean Hart, and.
Speaker 5 (01:21:36):
We got to get to JB because he is his'ptical
over there.
Speaker 6 (01:21:39):
Don't get me wrong, I've been there a long time.
I still kind of am. But we gotta get JB's moves.
Speaker 4 (01:21:44):
Opinion on this, Yeah, I definitely do, and I see
people sleep on the past. Though He's not gonna be
an all pro, but he's piece. Maybe we talked a
little bit more about these other other guys that Davenport
obviously is going to be one of your one of
the big pieces that you're looking at. That's where I
believe Brad is centering things. But I know JB. Smooth
sounds like he's not necessarily a believer. We're gonna come
(01:22:04):
back from another time. Bright, We're gonna have to hear
from you. Miss the voice and reason.

Speaker 4 (01:25:38):
So a lot of a lot of comments disspewed a lot.
This has spurred a lot of different kind of you know,
multi versus here and uh. But before we get to
the chat, I want to make sure we get the
voice of reason and his take on this, because he's
been very very I've heard the ad libs over there.
I've heard the sounds, I've seen the faces. He is
adamantly against it. What up though, brothers.
Speaker 8 (01:26:00):
No, it's just like we've seen this story play out
before with Davenport. The injuries obviously concerning as hell. I
just much rather have big Z here, just just please, like,
come on, He's a guy that everyone here in his
hometown is like rooting for right now. I mean he's
dating a Detroit woman as well too. Just come on,
just bring big Z back, Like I look, it's fine,
(01:26:22):
if you want to wait till after minicamp because he
got for a second, he doesn't need all that, but
still you just need someone that has quality that you
can depend on, and I think that's the zeroest Smith
and how.
Speaker 4 (01:26:32):
You feel, though, ask Carly constructed, because when you listen
about Holmes, this guy sounds very confident and.
Speaker 8 (01:26:40):
Has I know, and like you, you don't want to
like you don't want to go against Brad, And I
understand that. I completely understand that until he fails us,
until he fails us, and it's like, all right, cool,
we'll rock with what Brad has to say. But at
the same time, it's like, come on, we we've been
set around this team for a long time and this
is as close as we're going to get to a
(01:27:02):
trying to accomplisate super Bowl. So let's bring in that
super Bowl talent and just bring back Sadariusmith so we
can just get over this hump right now. I know
it might be against his better judgment, but at the
same time, I like what we have at home, But
you can't tell me you don't want some extra ingredients
added to the recipe.
Speaker 4 (01:27:19):
That's what I'm saying, especially when those extra ingredients can
uplift several areas of your team, not just you know,
pass rushing it and pressures. We don't know what he's
gonna be playing opposite of Aden Hutchinson. And you talk
about Marcus Davenport. To me, if I'm Holmes, I'm gonna
hedge my bet, I'm gonna bring in some insurance with
my belief. So I believe in Marcus Davenport, but I
(01:27:40):
believe that Big Z is not like a wild card.
He's a guy you've had here and he can help
add to a rotation that believe keeps Davenport healthy. Because
I know you even had some thoughts on that.
Speaker 6 (01:27:49):
Yeah, I was Devenport, and I've mentioned this before.
Speaker 5 (01:27:54):
This isn't anything new, and I think JB did a
good job of articulating it, not exactly how I would,
but in his own way, which is probably better than
I could. Marcus Davenport has warts. Al Kadin Muhammad has warts,
Ahmad Hassenin has warts, Josh Pascal has warts, Zadarius Smith.
Speaker 6 (01:28:14):
His only wart, I would.
Speaker 5 (01:28:16):
Say, is that he could fall off a cliff in
his age thirty three season versus age thirty two. I
highly doubt that, by the way, and one of the
warts of Marcus Davenport, other than the fact that in
the last two seasons he's played a combined six out
of possible thirty four games, is that even when he's
been healthy, even when he's.
Speaker 6 (01:28:36):
Played fifteen games thirteen games.
Speaker 5 (01:28:39):
His snapcount is more aligned with being a rotational piece,
a very very good rotational piece in certain years. But
he's never been a high snapcount guy. He's only played
five hundred or more snaps in a season once, and
for comparison, Zadarius Smith played six hundred and thirteen last
year and has played many more than that in many seasons.
(01:29:01):
So Marcus Davenport to me as a third edge rusher
would be so ideal as the starting.
Speaker 6 (01:29:08):
Bookend not as confident.
Speaker 5 (01:29:11):
But at the end of the day, I did say
earlier that a big season from Marcus Davenport wouldn't necessarily
shock me either. But I also think it would be
a low volume maybe five or six sacks thirteen games,
which is not bad. But Z's ceiling is higher.
Speaker 4 (01:29:27):
And you know, just some people in the chad who
they're trying to see this thing in a different light
regardless of what we want with big Z. They do
have some players here, and uh, you know, earlier it
was Sean Hart, you who wondered maybe as Pascal, maybe
it's him who's who's going to be able to step up.
And there's some other ones I want to bring up,
but I figured we'd at least bring his up first.
Speaker 5 (01:29:46):
I mean, Pascal, I mean, here's the thing, friend of
the show on the network. He's also had a lot
of nagging injuries throughout his career. He hasn't been super productive.
I think he defends the run pretty well. If you
want to say that in a full season.
Speaker 6 (01:30:01):
He had clashed his last He's in his contract year.
Speaker 5 (01:30:04):
His last year was the best year of his career.
I don't trust it necessarily, but he could have like
four or five sacks.
Speaker 4 (01:30:11):
They really believe in Josh Pascal. They really believe they do.
And you know, I'm seeing here, I'm salty, you know,
just before we go on, Jabie Smooth, Josh Pascal, you know,
and shout out to him, gave us his time at
the Boys and Girls Club event at Belleville High School,
and this guy wants to put on for Detroit. I
think that that also boldes why he chose to come
(01:30:32):
back here. I look at the guy like if he Melafanu,
and look at the guy like Derek Barnes and Josh Pascal.
I look at these guys in similar situations where the
team is offering you approven opportunity. We don't know what
they did with if he if they did or didn't,
but at least for Pascal, he got that opportunity. He
wants to be able to prove it here. But what
about you, man, Pascal, You do you expect Pascal to
(01:30:53):
those guys that steps up this year? I was already
same with the Davenport stuff with the injuries.
Speaker 11 (01:30:58):
I think it's less the Davenport thing with Pascal.
Speaker 8 (01:31:02):
I'm hoping that he steps up, But as you said,
this is one of those those proven years where it's like, hey,
you got to step up and show us that even
though you say you want to be here, can you
prove that out on the field. And Brad has given
him that opportunity, and hopefully he does that this season
as well too, because like you said, he is one
of the ones who said he wants to be here.
Speaker 11 (01:31:21):
But at the same time, you have to prove it
to all of us have to.
Speaker 4 (01:31:24):
I'm salty. He's saying we have Levi O and Barnes.
Brad's not adding any big time edge names. He signed
him originally because those guys were hurt.
Speaker 6 (01:31:34):
It what I said it before, Then what.
Speaker 4 (01:31:39):
Do you do?
Speaker 6 (01:31:41):
I don't think Brad Holmes would be heartbroken if he's
not here. I really don't.
Speaker 5 (01:31:45):
And I'm not saying that that that's negligence on his part,
although I disagree with it, but he really believes in
what the Lions have.
Speaker 4 (01:31:53):
He does.
Speaker 5 (01:31:55):
He basically brushed off the big Z thing like it
was nothing when when he was asked it. And I
understand talking about your guys and not wanting to talk
about ifs, but big Z is not just not your
guy in an if he was a huge cog in
this team last year, I mean, where would the where
would the past rush have been if big Z wasn't there.
Speaker 4 (01:32:15):
I don't know how people feel about Pascal too. Let's
let's get up at least a quick pall on that
one man, because I see some people in the chat
who are they're giving us some support to him man.
And yes he did battle cancel whatef do with Detroit
Gunny Josh. Pascal did and he still tried as much
as he could and win he could to play through it.
You and you know, we talked briefly about that off
(01:32:35):
the record.
Speaker 6 (01:32:37):
Off the record, Yeah, off the record, what second you
say it on air? It's very much off the record.
Speaker 4 (01:32:45):
But Cardia, I hope Pascal and Levi get better. That's
the hope, and I believe that that's the belief for Brad.
I don't even know if these approved deals. I believe
that they earned. Like Brad believes in these guys, right,
He's gonna give them a one year dear because just
what they proved. If they earn any more than that
is where it's gonna be. I don't think that this
is a deal where Brad is questionable, like man Yo
(01:33:09):
doing a Super Bowl window. I wonder if Pascal and
and and these guys who I get these one of
your deals to. I wonder if they're actually gonna come through.
I don't think Brad gave those contracts out that way.
I believe Brad gave those contracts believing these guys, who
I believed in, who I selected, who I brought here.
I believe that they're finally ready to step into this
prespense that we think, and then they earned themselves what
(01:33:31):
that next contract will be.
Speaker 5 (01:33:32):
I was gonna say, Levi and Zerique could end up
being one of the most valuable deals in the NFL.
If he just gives you what he gave last year,
then the five and a half million for a year
is a fine contract. But if he can take another
step and potentially use the motivation of if I stay
healthy and I take a leap, I can get a
longer term deal. Look for Levio to be one of
(01:33:55):
the breakout players for the Lions. If I know it's early,
and I know this isn't the topic, but that's somebody
who I could see really stepping up.
Speaker 4 (01:34:02):
And Troy Gunny is and Levi o better inside rather
than outside. You know what, maybe Levi old because that's
why I'm glad where the conversation goes, because Levio is
a player who we understand. Zeitler was probably trying to
get his guys paid. One of those twenty million dollar
man became twenty million dollar man in a leam who
got more than twenty a year, and Levi Ol was
the other guy he was talking about, and then he
(01:34:22):
did not live up to expectations. This is a situation
where Levio becomes one of the more intriguing players on
our defensive line. Who can he get to that level
that Zeitler was talking about. If he can, then wow,
this is where Brad Holmes is gonna come away looking
like an absolute genius because there's a lot of potential
on that defensive line. I wonder, if you take all
(01:34:44):
injury aside, how confident are people that the defensive line
will step into their potential.
Speaker 6 (01:34:51):
That there is a lot of that.
Speaker 5 (01:34:53):
I kind of feel like it depends on the day.
With me, I'm just being asked because there's a lot
of wild cards. There's a lot of warts, but you
also have and an injury to a Lee McNeil that's
another word.
Speaker 6 (01:35:05):
But you also got eight and hutches and he's a
good player.
Speaker 5 (01:35:10):
Like like when when you talk about not living up
to expectation, I think on being a second round pick,
the duration of his rookie contract, he certainly hasn't lived up.
But I think last year I would say he lived
up to his I know Zeitler was a propping him up,
but Levi hadn't done a damn thing up until last year,
(01:35:31):
and last year he did do something and he was
actually healthy, which was crazy.
Speaker 6 (01:35:35):
He was healthy and so many others were not.
Speaker 4 (01:35:39):
But Cardier is saying, is d line is in garbage.
But I'm trying to win a super Bowl. But then
on the other side, I'm salty, says Pascal Levi. Oh
and bond Yad Hutch McNeil and our new rookie, that
that's not too bad.
Speaker 6 (01:35:53):
I mean, it's it's it's it's it could be fine.
It could be fine. It could it could be fine.
Speaker 11 (01:35:59):
It could be fine.
Speaker 4 (01:36:01):
This is the reason why we're talking about it, Like,
I'm glad that we're able to talk about it, give
our truths and still say listen, we're gonna trust him, Brad.
But when I peel back the layers of this defensive line,
there's a lot of guys that I hope can reach
their potential because of what it means for the Lions.
But to this point, it's been a struggle. If there
was a year you would have thought it would have
been last year for Levio. But he does get the
(01:36:22):
opportunity to come back this year and try and prove something,
and again he becomes one of the more intriguing players
on that defensive line to be able to help it
not just meet expectation, but get over it.
Speaker 6 (01:36:32):
Do you want to talk Tigers real quick?
Speaker 4 (01:36:34):
You know what? I think that they deserve it. Yeah,
I'm not believe you guys just because they lose a
series that they are banished completely out to Detroit Tigers,
who is still one of the best teams in all
of baseball.
Speaker 6 (01:36:45):

Calling all Tigers fans join us for white called Tiger's Tour.
What were sports O beating four of the top bars
in Detroit? You see that We've already hit two mixed
Shane's and we just hit nemos and it was dope, man.
The last one was really really dope. A lot of
people are out there, lot of support out there, even
a legendary Foster and Tim mccollor themselves while out there too.
But we want to see you guys out. June twenty
(01:38:48):
ninth will be our third stop on the tour at
the Old Miami in Detroit. Join a whole bunch of
the crew Sunday night, June twenty nights. Man, it's gonna
be pretty epic. We probably funds your reactions live when
we were, of course never to one of the hottest
teams in baseball, still currently the best team in baseball
recer wise, it is a white CLL Tigers too, brought
to you by White Claw and Ben Johnson, low wet
(01:39:11):
we never left. It's wake up when we're talking more
about these Detroit sports teams, because all of them are
pretty hot right now. I expect playoffs for every single
one of our teams next year. I do all of them.
That is the bare minimum. Not like to play in
red Wings. We might allow them to sneak into the
wildcard but I expect all these teams to be playoff teams,
(01:39:31):
and three or four at least to be formidable playoff teams.
The Detroit Tigers, they are a top all of Baseball
record rise by a half game. But you know what's
pretty interesting when you look at what's going on in
the Central. They are nine games up on the Twins,
nine and a half games up on the Guardians. They
could probably set this thing and cruise control. But I
(01:39:52):
love the fact that the Tigers, despite any adversity that
they may face, they are only widening their lead in
this division. Yes, over on the league, they are now
three games up on the Yankees.
Speaker 5 (01:40:04):
The Yankees are down bad right now, and you just
hate to see it. But no, the Tigers credit to
the AL Central for finally being that terrible division that
everybody always says that it is that I.
Speaker 6 (01:40:19):
Fought against feverishly.
Speaker 5 (01:40:23):
But I'm happy to be wrong the AL Central. Everybody's
slumping in the AL Central, every single team, So the
Tigers aren't losing any ground. But that being said, even
though I think the Tigers they could probably play five
hundred ball the rest of the year and probably still
make still win the division, I think this is a
big series against the Pirates to get right, and I
(01:40:43):
specifically think it's a good get right series for the
pitching staff because when you look at how they performed
against Cincinnati, I mean, they allowed five runs in the
first in Game one, but it was a lot of
ninth in in garbage runs. But then they gave up
eleven in Game two. Jack Fleiry didn't pitch his best.
They gave eight in Game three, and that was more
on the defense than the pitching. But still, but you
(01:41:04):
look at the Pittsburgh Pirates, their last and major League
Baseball in runs and second to last, and ops their
lineup outside of really O'Neil Cruz and Andrew McCutcheon blows,
like really really blows. I understand that Brian Reynolds has
been a good player, but he's having a down year
this year. And Isaiah Kiner Falife is somebody that you
(01:41:27):
know can be scrappy at times. But I'm looking for
a big get right weekend from the pitching staff. You
got mys going tonight, you got Schooble going on Wednesday.
I'm looking for a shutout from Schooble, maybe not complete game,
but a shutout and then Montero going Thursday against Skeens.
That's the reason why I'm not picking a sweep. I'm
picking two out of three because, uh, how often do
(01:41:49):
we talk about the Tigers having a decided pitching advantage
in games Thursday Montero versus Skeens, Sorry, kider, Skeens is
the second best pitcher in baseball. Kiters somebody who wouldn't
even be starting without the injuries. So their pitch and off,
do your best, do your best, because Schemes has also
struggled mightily this year, not him, but to get run support.
Speaker 6 (01:42:11):
They just do not hit for Schemes when he's out there.
Chase you can second that.
Speaker 3 (01:42:15):
Yeah, yeah, I was just I was just adding to
what I was saying that the Pirates don't give any
support to Schemes, so they don't hit period.
Speaker 4 (01:42:22):
For the most part, opportunity. I mean, what you want
to see is the Detroit Tigers really get those bats going.
And I see that there is some people in the chat,
who A man, I just lost what they were talking
about the bullpen. It hasn't looked the hottest lately. You
want to see this team be able to pick back
up on this rhythm. But What's one of the things
we said in the beginning of the season. We continue
to caution this is a fickle sport. It's a game
(01:42:42):
of ups and downs. That's why your best hitters are
gonna hit three hundred and below, you know. So when
I look at what the Tigers team is doing right now,
I look at this in a grand scheme of things.
They're still one of the best teams in baseball. So
all the teams are going through their ups and downs.
The Tigers are finding ways to navigate that better than
anybody else in the league. Now, when you have handled
your business series like this one, especially with what's ahead,
(01:43:04):
I look at obviously these games after the Pirates is
handled your business series, the Raids is gonna be a
tough battle. But even the Athletics and the the Twins.
More so than Athletics the Twins, I'm not sleeping on
that matchup at all. And that's why I do want
the Tigers to go out there. If you can sweep
this Pirates series, go out there and do it. This
is the one to do it. You look at what's
ahead for this team and you want them to continue
(01:43:25):
to not just keep pace, but continue to lead I
believe this Pirates one is a perfect one to go.
And we've said this before. Fat yourself up.
Speaker 5 (01:43:32):
Just a little bits, and that's the thing, because you
can never get too comfortable in Major League Baseball. A
nine game lead seems very formidable. But we saw early
on in the season, and I know that that was
a little bit different. But when they played Cleveland in
a four game series at home with a six game lead,
all of a sudden, Cleveland wins three in a row
(01:43:52):
and we're all sweating on a game four for for
the Schoogle start. Unfortunately, schoobl came through. So you want
to get against these bad teams. I see the way
that I see this series going. I do think it's
gonna be two out of three. I don't think it's
gonna be a sweep. And I also see I see
some rock fights. I don't necessarily see the Tigers bats
(01:44:15):
being their driving force. I see more of their pitching
because the Pirates they don't have a bad pitching staff.
I mean, Andrew Heeny goes in Game two against School, well,
he's obviously at the disadvantage, but he's really good. Uh
Falter going Game one against Mice, I Bailey Falter. I
think miz has the advantage, but Falters had a pretty
(01:44:36):
good season in and of himself. But I also see
game one as I think games one and two you
gotta win, and then game three. If you end up
losing the Skeins Montero matchup, you can live with that.
But I think it was shoot I might have lost it.
There was an absolute power stat. Yes it is DNC
and T who I've had some arguments with today, but
(01:44:58):
this is actually amazing. Skeens is one in six in
his last seven with a one to twelve r.
Speaker 1 (01:45:04):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (01:45:04):
The Pirates should be set to prison for what they're
doing to Paul Skans.
Speaker 4 (01:45:08):
Set at one more time.
Speaker 5 (01:45:10):
Skeens is one in six in his last seven with
a one to twelve e RA. The Pirates should be
set to prison for what they're doing to Paul Skeans.
Because Paul Skeens is every bit as good as he
was hyped up to be. He's actually been better this year,
but he's not getting quite the recognition because the Pirates
are absolute cheeks at least when it comes to their
(01:45:31):
lineup is terrible, like it s an outside of O'Neil,
Cruz and Andrew McCutchen. They've just got all kinds of
six hundreds, five hundreds. Ops, guys, they blow.
Speaker 4 (01:45:40):
I see what with Detroit Gunny, he always keeps these
things in perspective.
Speaker 9 (01:45:44):
I like this.
Speaker 4 (01:45:45):
Remember the Tigers are slumping at five and five in
their last ten, while the Twins, Guardians, and Royals are too.
Speaker 5 (01:45:52):
That's incredible. It doesn't even even win. Yeah, and five
and five. I mean, all teams are gonna go through
five and five stretches, but this Tigers team is what
nineteen games over five hundred for them, five and five
is a slump. But thank you to the AL Central
for proving the AL Central haters right and being a
crappy division once again. And shout out to the Guardians.
(01:46:16):
May we hope to never face you in the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (01:46:20):
Not gonna lie. I don't want any of those problems
right now.
Speaker 4 (01:46:23):
No, no, no, you talk about some of those teams
that just kind of have your number, I'm gonna see
them be able to at least go out there and
get a couple series wins doing the regular season first man.
But shout out to the Tigers. It's always nice to
put this in perspective because last year, it was a
team who we saw a lot of their downs leading
up to that trade deadline, a lot of things that
just took them apart at the seams. But after the
(01:46:45):
trade deadline, we saw this team just take off. This year,
we're able to talk about the team more as front runners,
as a squad that's controlled and well handled their destiny
this year and they're still at the top of this thing. Man,
So shout out to the Tigers. Go out there, fat
yourselves up against Pirates. This is a series that, honestly,
if you're talking about getting a sweep, it's been tough
for me to call sweeps out of like the last
(01:47:06):
three or four, even in series where I thought they
were favorite, But this one is one that it actually
might set up well for them, even with skiings going
in this series.
Speaker 5 (01:47:15):
Yeah, and man, this is why I should have verified
DNCNT with that stat You are incorrect.
Speaker 6 (01:47:21):
Unfortunately, they do lose.
Speaker 5 (01:47:23):
More than they should with Skins on the mound, but
in his last one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
eight nine, in his last nine starts, he's been absolutely
out of this world. And the Pirates are four and five.
They're not one in six, But uh, the era is
probably correct. The point is is that Paul Skeens has
gotten some of the worst run support luck I've ever
(01:47:48):
seen a picture have period.
Speaker 4 (01:47:49):
Brandon In is getting some love in the chat. I
see Scooba schools out to Brandon j and where this begins.
Scooba Scoobla flannel looks like Brandon In. They think he
us with the tigers everything.
Speaker 6 (01:48:01):
I mean, I don't know. I think Brandon Inge is
a little bit more like gruff looking than I am.
But that's that's fine.
Speaker 4 (01:48:11):
Hey, we're a regular pair of what Austin Jackson and
Curtis Grandison as well, I guess. But let's uh, let's

It's what's trending with JB Live on Wake Up Woodward

Speaker 6 (01:51:01):
Let's rock?
Speaker 8 (01:51:02):
Hey, what's going on with Chad family? What's going on
with fellas Flannel? I'm sorry I had to do this
since you brought up Brandon Inge. So let's see if
I can get this.
Speaker 6 (01:51:14):
Man.
Speaker 5 (01:51:15):
You're a sniper. See, I don't see it. I don't
see it. I think I'm a little bit more. I
think I have like softer features than Brandon Inge personally,
but that's just my opinion.
Speaker 4 (01:51:26):
The ladies are very fond of Brandon.
Speaker 6 (01:51:28):
Yeah, that's what I heard. That's why I heard some stories.
Speaker 11 (01:51:32):
Actually, yeah, you gotta share this with this off there,
but I just had to do that to start off.
What's training?
Speaker 8 (01:51:40):
But you guys, Uh, the twenty twenty five All Star
jerseys are now up and available for everyone to check
out and see. They got the Caps, the home Run
Derby Caps, the game Caps, but during the All Star Game,
players will actually be wearing their team's jerseys. This is uh,
something different that they're trying right now. They got away
(01:52:02):
from this in twenty nineteen, but now they're trying to
bring it back. But these are some of the jerseys
lineups that you have right now for the Home Run
Derby and some of the Caps.
Speaker 11 (01:52:11):
What do you guys think?
Speaker 4 (01:52:12):
Uh, I don't know. The font's a little now feeling it.
I'm not really feeling.
Speaker 3 (01:52:18):
So they're gonna have only eight of these home Run
Derby jerseys. There's only like eight participants in the Home
Run Derby, So, like that's pretty stupid.
Speaker 4 (01:52:27):
Yeah, I wonder if there's like if like the players
were probably even the ones that are just standing around.
I wonder if they're gonna have them in these uniforms too.
Speaker 3 (01:52:34):
Yeah, that's stupid.
Speaker 6 (01:52:36):
I want to see jerseys.
Speaker 4 (01:52:38):
Yeah, I like it, at least for the All Star
Game to go let them wear their own jerseys, because
this would be pretty funk.
Speaker 3 (01:52:46):
They should just do the home run derby in their
own jerseys. But this is this is a dumb decision
by the MLB.
Speaker 4 (01:52:51):
We designed them man like locals, don't. They're not it
to me?
Speaker 3 (01:52:55):
Yeah, I mean then they're rubbing it in the face
of the old ex Post fans because they're definitely stole
that Expost.
Speaker 5 (01:53:02):
Shout out to the Montreal Exposed Detroit. The chat says, ooh, glay.
Speaker 3 (01:53:07):
Like the NL one just looks like a total rip off.
Speaker 4 (01:53:11):
Yeah, people ain't then they're not feeling it. But you
see somebody these chats.
Speaker 8 (01:53:14):
In the Yeah, people are not feeling this jersey either.
Like this, it looks a little kiddish to me, just
just a little kiddish.
Speaker 11 (01:53:22):
But once again that that's just me.
Speaker 4 (01:53:24):
That's just me.
Speaker 11 (01:53:25):
Our thoughts as well to kool A, I gotta know
what did he do wrong.
Speaker 4 (01:53:30):
In this video? Absolutely nothing, nothing wrong, not at all nothing.
Speaker 11 (01:53:41):
Did you see the shot?
Speaker 4 (01:53:43):
Goodness, gracious, bro, this is what we're doing now. If
I was hooping with somebody like that, I would be
so pissed off. Though, those are the ones that you
just like, bro, get out of here, get out. I
feel like Steve cro for the version of the end.
He's like, dude, get out, get out, like I can't
so now TikTok has made its way toops.
Speaker 5 (01:54:05):
So basically you would have the fear for that guy
as Steve Carell almost getting cock blocks when he's about
to lose his virginity at age four. Dude, get I'm
just cleaning clean room. It could hang out, it could
be a couple of minutes.
Speaker 6 (01:54:23):
Done, get out. No, but real, this can't be serious.
You air ball.
Speaker 5 (01:54:28):
This isn't like Swaggy p shout out Ryan where he
did that, but he at least it went in and out.
Speaker 6 (01:54:33):
Bro, that couldn't be serious. That's where you.
Speaker 4 (01:54:35):
Set the camera up thinking I got some hoigh less today.
I got my girl here, she got me, and you
airball in front of her, and you realize, oh crap,
gotta do something, gotta do something. You didn't say face, Bro,
I can definitely tell you that much. At least dance.
Speaker 11 (01:54:49):
Yeah, I have at least do something better than this.
Come on, now, what what are we doing out here?
Speaker 8 (01:54:56):
What are we doing out here, and I guys, one
of my fears is, you know those little bikes that
are downtown, a little segway bikes in and stuff like that.
My fear is like getting on one and actually crashing.
So that's my worst fear. I feel like I would
do fine on a motorcycle or motocross bike, but just
one of those things, I would be crashing like this, dude, Oh.
Speaker 3 (01:55:22):
Is it everybody's fear, like the idea of crashing though.
Speaker 4 (01:55:25):
Like extent outside. It's the land kick right before, Like, bro,
you were just what I don't get the land kick.
Speaker 6 (01:55:37):
And that will be me too, trying to stop it,
like nope, stop.
Speaker 4 (01:55:45):
We already. It feels about uh scooter people.
Speaker 3 (01:55:51):
They're just trying to like use this for transportation. That's okay.
It's if you go to the skate park with.
Speaker 4 (01:55:57):
Yeah kids, not even say He's like get that out
of here, dude, get the out This is crazy though.
Speaker 8 (01:56:04):
You get that out of here and finding the last
video for what's trending it's a jackass moment I called
the stunt screenshots everybody.
Speaker 3 (01:56:28):
That was his chaser?
Speaker 6 (01:56:30):
What happened? Get better friends?
Speaker 4 (01:56:36):
What in the world I'm already chugging this bottle for
your enjoyment on film and the chair on top. It
is literally slapping me with a TV like this little
tunes bro, like what next to piano's gonna drop on
his head? And angels They threw a TV out of him, Bro,
this is insane.
Speaker 2 (01:56:56):
They do that.
Speaker 6 (01:56:59):
That's that's.
Speaker 4 (01:57:01):
Yes, this is a TV.
Speaker 6 (01:57:03):
Behavior.
Speaker 11 (01:57:04):
YEA guy needs new friends or better friends.
Speaker 6 (01:57:07):
Disorientated throw.
Speaker 11 (01:57:11):
How do they have a random TV that they can
just throw at someone?
Speaker 4 (01:57:15):
Screen shots so stupid?
Speaker 8 (01:57:19):
Like I said, that's it for what's training? You guys
hopping the mail bag while we got.
Speaker 5 (01:57:22):
Some like straight to jail, don't pass go like for real,
you could definitely go to jail for throw a TV at.
Speaker 4 (01:57:29):
A is Pratt boys. Cardier didn't know how to party.
Dude got hit by a TV. Screen shots Lo l
that's Nick Henigen golleague. Everybody get screenshots. David Cabell dag
the TV. I don't get it. I don't understand it.
This is fun now tops the Gable says, very strange.
I'm salty.
Speaker 6 (01:57:48):
We would have been scrapping, Freddie felt.
Speaker 5 (01:57:51):
That's what you gotta do for entertainment when there's zero
estrogen at the crib, I mean Cardier.
Speaker 4 (01:57:57):
Smacking with a Samung smart TV's gonna say that.
Speaker 5 (01:58:00):
I'm sure guys who throw TVs at one another don't
do well with the ladies.
Speaker 4 (01:58:03):
Suckle cheese, Yeah you got it. Sausage party. What a
movie movie, JV. I don't even know where you find
these movies, but like somebody throw the TV at them?
Speaker 5 (01:58:19):
That was it?
Speaker 4 (01:58:20):
That's like, what do you?
Speaker 2 (01:58:22):
What do you?
Speaker 4 (01:58:22):
I don't even know how to respond to that, Like
someone throw a TV at you? What do you do?
You probably just looked at us who did it for
a while, like just do a TV at me?
Speaker 6 (01:58:30):
Like like you might even be too dumbfound even do
anything about it.
Speaker 4 (01:58:35):
What shout out to JB. Smooth Man as always, man,
you do a great job with what's trending. We definitely
got have to get a couple of those things up
on socials. But shout out to JB. Smooth Man if
you guys good definitely gone smashed that like button for
the W crewse smash that like but for JB. Smooth
and what's trending? And we gotta I guess we got
like a couple of minutes maybe for some l back questions.
Speaker 6 (01:58:58):
Yeah, you gotta see here.
Speaker 4 (01:59:00):
If you guys got any questions, definitely throw it on
into the chat. Let me see it. Just a fan
said he's doing the Angel Reese.
Speaker 3 (01:59:11):
Do you see she trademarks me, bounds me?
Speaker 4 (01:59:13):
But I did see that. It's so stupid, it's actually
pretty smart.
Speaker 6 (01:59:17):
No, No, it's not stopping sell Mark stopping using this.
Speaker 4 (01:59:20):
He's gonna be able to tell people see some and
desist mail bag. Do you think Memphis resigns Odama now
that they clear cap space? Who do the pivot? Who
do pistons pivot to? If so, they did create space,
but it wasn't They didn't necessarily create they created cap space.
(01:59:41):
I don't know if they created lineup space to be
able to maximize what you would what Aldama could get. So,
if Aldama knows he can go out there in the
free market or push for a team because he's restrict
your free agent to throw on that bread, why wouldn't
he do that? And there is a limit that Memphis has.
Speaker 6 (01:59:56):
To put on it.
Speaker 5 (01:59:57):
Yeah, no, I mean I don't think Aldama comes back
to the to the Grizzlies. Jordan from m I, this
is actually a good one. If the Lions have another
down year, who's on the hot seat first, Dan Campbell,
golf or Brad Holmes Jared. I think in the city
it's gonna be golf. But I also think if you're
smart and analyze things properly, it depends on how it happens.
(02:00:19):
And I don't think it is gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (02:00:20):
But it's gonna be golf. You already know.
Speaker 5 (02:00:22):
I mean, yeah, in the city. But like I said,
don't be that person that just blindly blames somebody. Look
a look at these situations individually. But I don't think
we're gonna have to deal with this.
Speaker 4 (02:00:33):
I don't think so either. I see brother in a
chat to our brother, brother says mailbag, what's more difficult
both pitching plus hitting an MLB show he or playing
both sides of the ball in NFL like Travis Hunter
I cam from get on ESPN this morning.
Speaker 5 (02:00:47):
I think.
Speaker 6 (02:00:51):
I think they're both.
Speaker 5 (02:00:55):
Because playing both sides in the NFL, we're talking about
in a violent sport, over one hundred snaps a game.
If you're gonna start both sides, that's its own difficulty.
But we literally haven't seen show Hey o Tani since
what Babe Ruth in terms of somebody who is. But
even Babe Ruth wasn't maybe the best hitter in the
(02:01:16):
league and a top ten to fifteen pitcher at the
same time. When he's right, they're both. I think show
Hay is gonna be one of one and Travis Hunter
isn't gonna end up starting both sides. I think they're
both damn near impossible.
Speaker 4 (02:01:30):
Eric moy Pelman mel Bag. If we sign Big Z,
is there enough playing time to go around if everyone
is healthy. Yes, I believe if you want to keep
people healthy and make sure they have stamina towards the
end of the year so your team can be talked
about the same way the Eagles did, They're definitely gonna
make sure that there's playing time because it keeps all
these guys healthy, and that's all them play honestly to
(02:01:51):
their peaks. You talk about people bringing up like the
snap counts of Big Z and such. You want more
of that high output, high performance when they're out there,
and you can keep them as healthy as you possibly can,
which is what this team needs. They got the talent
they need that they do.
Speaker 6 (02:02:05):
Just a fan, how many games do each of you
watch weekly?
Speaker 5 (02:02:09):
I mean, I tap in with every Detroit game in
some capacity, and if I can, I like to watch
every pitch, every dribble, every every uh.
Speaker 4 (02:02:22):
You know, walking around with it on my phone.
Speaker 5 (02:02:24):
Very gross that that's the only way that that's that's
the only way to do this as effectively as I
possibly can, is to try to watch everything. Obviously, things
come up, but if I miss an inning or two,
I watch the highlights. If I miss half a game,
I watch the highlights. And even if I'm at a
place where I shouldn't be on my phone, I'm on
my phone.
Speaker 6 (02:02:43):
It's uh, it is what it is.
Speaker 4 (02:02:48):
The last one, chuckle cheese filming Melback. How do you
feel now about the pistons chances in the future in
the East, seeing how Indiana has done it? You guys,
I know, I feel that much more confident about the Pistons.
I believe that they're on the White Path, but it's
gonna be on Treasure Lane and make sure that he
adequately over the next two years. I'm not going to
be one of those guys, even though I want him
to go and strike now, I'm not gonna go on
(02:03:08):
the guys. It's like, oh my gosh, he didn't do
anything this offseason. They're set up beautifully beautiful over the
next two off seasons to get something done. So I
believe that they're very very close. I don't know if
that means that they're gonna get to that point this year,
both in two to three seasons, I believe we will
see that same type of success the Pacers are having
right here in Detroit.
Speaker 6 (02:03:29):
Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 5 (02:03:30):
And I think, like you said, in the next couple
of years, they'll definitely make a move like a like
a big move could be this offseason.
Speaker 4 (02:03:38):
We'll see they have the pieces, but we should see Hey,
Chad family smashed that like but I see we got
over our first goal. If you didn't get the opportunity
to definitely make sure you're going ahead and smash that
like button to continue to support not just us, but
all of what Cot Wilward because we do got big
d energy on the way. We have Rmoni Edwards and
Dick Travaganza the Woodward heavyweight. Shout out to Spending who
is in the building too. Let's get that chest pass going.
(02:04:00):
We break the same down. I know we're on the street.
People want another uh stream of thom from you.
Speaker 5 (02:04:06):
Guys, don't be volunteering. That was a big undertaking. Nick
lost his hair. If they want to do it, don't
do man.
Speaker 4 (02:04:15):
But you guys know you guys are lessons and shout out.
We also got an intern Noah intern Ryan in the
building in the sound both Chase, good show.
Speaker 3 (02:04:26):

Uh looking forward to fun. We got my cousins getting
married this weekend. Also want to shout out my guy
bad Chad Decker again. He's got another fight this weekend
at the MotorCity Soundboard. Gonna be back in time. I
think he picked up the fight late. Notice I'm not
one hundred percent sure about that. I gotta get in
touch with him. I just saw it like last week
he started talking about it. So shout out Chad, Hope,
(02:04:47):

Speaker 5 (02:05:38):
Of absolutely shout out Tigers. Time for them to do
something that they've done remarkably well this season. Win game
one of a series. And their last thirteen series openers,
they are an incredible eleven and two. Only two they've
lost in the opening game are the Guardians, of course,
and at Saint Louis, and at Saint Louis they lost
the first one and took the next two.
Speaker 6 (02:05:58):
