Speaker 1 (00:03):
It's time to wake up Woodward. Were the most listening
to Detroit sports morning shows about your starts.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Starting your day with a warm cup of Flannel Sam,
or how about a full cover of Detroit kool Aid.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Oh yeah, mix.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
In a little JB and you got yourself The preface
of Champions live guests, fan reactions, and updates for.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Your favorite teams.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Wake Up Woodward is live now on Detroit's number one
sports network, Woodward Sports.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
What up though? People?

Speaker 5 (00:35):
Just wake up wood When we hope that you guys
survived all of the rain, all the wind.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
Hey, what am I talking about? We are Michiganers, man,
we built like that.

Speaker 5 (00:44):
Let's go ahead to chat family and run up that
light button right now on this Thursday show.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
You got a lot to talk about.

Speaker 5 (00:51):
I'm in my Detroit Tiger spirit Flannel Sam, get that
mojo going and see this team go on another freaking
tear as the best team in baseball to Boy Brandon
aka Detroit cool A, you're fndential pisss report a rider
for the show. Flannel sandavette at a squad of Veta
the Network, Redwens corresponding All Sports Nowhere and Lover.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Good morning my brother.

Speaker 6 (01:08):
Good morning. We have a jam packed show today. We're
gonna do a lot of a TLB. A certain player
just got signed with the Ravens. We're gonna talk about that.
We're also gonna talk about a certain prominent Lions and
draft figure that surmises that an extension for a certain
Detroit Lion might be happening sooner rather than later and afterwards.

(01:32):
Because those are Lions topics that I'm sure will create
a lot of discussion, we will open up the phone
Lions probably in the second hour, So get your calls in,
but wait for a little while until I give the
go ahead, which I will definitely.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
There was a couple things that happened kind of nationally.

Speaker 5 (01:51):
I know we're gonna talk about Alexander sonning that one year,
four million dollar contract, Jab's move. I saw your video
man voice a reason you might had. I think you
were spitting some fire. But I know we're gonna probably
let the Chat family decide to the Lakers getting sold
for ten billion dollars.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
Yeah, that's absolutely insane.

Speaker 5 (02:11):
It got me to thinking, like, is there anything in
the world that I would actually spend ten billion dollars on?

Speaker 6 (02:15):
There's a lot that's a scope that I can't even
my my my brain can't even wrap when.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
I had ten billion, ten billion dollars.

Speaker 6 (02:24):
I probably would if I had ten billion dollars if disposable.
Oh yeah yeah, oh your.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Mic Chase billion is equivalent to thirty three years. Would
you say it's like thirty three years? It's like one
billion seconds.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Of time that's absolutely insane.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Or it might be like eleven, but it's still it's several years.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Man.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
Now, Flannel got me thinking if he did about the Lakers,
how that team would look.

Speaker 7 (02:50):
At point guard.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
No.

Speaker 6 (02:53):
Well, actually, actually I'm not saying that that man can
never play on a team, but he's a very fine player.
Just hope that he and the Pacers take that l
to night and I never have to see them in
the finals again.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Oh man, man, And you know what the Detroit Tigers.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
We want them to be able to continue to beta
and I think that they got some series ahead bro
that they actually fatten themselves up on as it relates
to best rucket in all of baseball.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Flam No, they do.

Speaker 6 (03:19):
I know that double headers like for today I would prefer,
and I know they've got the whole schoobl in schemes
going on the same day in a doubleheader. That's a
really cool thing. And if you have a chance to
get to the ballpark, that is worth the price of
a mission and then some in and of itself. But
if it were up to me, I would have probably them.
Just Winning a double headers hard, especially when you're gonna

(03:41):
after being all tired from playing one game. Your reward
is Okay, now you gotta face Paul Skins. Some of
these guys might be playing their second game of the day,
so I'm looking at them at least taking one out
of one. Going to Tampa next is gonna be tough.
But then home series against the A's, that's when you
gotta win three against the Twins. That's one. I would say,

(04:03):
you gotta win at Washington, another one they're under five hundred.
Then you've got at Cleveland and hopefully by then Cleveland
is like twelve games out. I mean there are, they're they're.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
About as all your guardians demons.

Speaker 6 (04:16):
They're about to But Cleveland is playing their way into
a relevant like this season, irrelevancy, and that's what we want. Yeah, Like,
I don't think it's wrong of me or any of
us to be mindful of the Cleveland Guardians because obviously
we know that the Tigers this year have the better team,
but the Guardians even this year, came to Detroit really

(04:37):
kind of smacked us around for three games until Schoogle
got us get back. And we all know what happened
in the playoffs last year, and we know that guys
like Jose Ramirez and Steven Kwan are both Tiger killers
and both playoff performers. So yeah, let's just uh, let's
just keep rendering the Guardians irrelevant.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
Yeah, and I'm just looking forward to them having one
of those just absolute great series against the Guardians.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
It is just time, and I believe that they're gonna
have it.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
I'm very, very confident about the Tigers over the next
four to five series, including against the Rays.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
I am.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
I remember early on when they will come up against
a stretch of games and we thought, man, they're playing
some tougher teams now, and he went in and absolutely
handled them. I think they went like five and one
or something like that over the or something over the
two series back to back. And that's kind of how
I'm feeling here when you look at what they have
just ahead with the Rays, but gotta handle business first
against the Pirates, and then you fact yourself up, get

(05:33):
this lead a little bit wider, and give yourself more
of that opportunity out realistically, like they have throughout the season,
to give your guys rest if there's an injury, to
give yourself extra caution, because I do believe that at
this point in time, aside from trying to maintain pace
as the best team in baseball, you also want to
make sure your guys have stamina. You want to make
sure the Scoobo is able to go farther than he

(05:54):
was last year because everybody was in agreens. He did
put it all out there for the Tigers all playoffs.
With that last game, you could tell he just didn't
have that extra inning to go and that's.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Where and you can even tell with some of the bats.

Speaker 5 (06:07):
Even Torques cooled off a little bit from the tear
he was on during the regular season to help the
Tigers get to that point. So I do want to
see the Tigers get to a position where they have
such a good lead and they're comfortable not just in
the division, but in the in the al, that they're
able to give some guys some rest.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
They're able to strategize, to.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
Be able to make sure their team can be in
the best place stamina wise and health wise going into
a playoff rom.

Speaker 6 (06:29):
Yeah, and I'm looking at I'm looking at the standings
right now. The Guardians, they're nine out, Twins are ten
and a half. I mean, as I said, the Guardians,
they need to for their sake, get out a run
soon or else they're going to play themselves out of it.
And then I mean they're already like teetering on being

(06:51):
out of it. Nine games is a lot to potentially
make up. But I'm looking at I know we went
over briefly their next batch of games. Between today and
the Guardian series, the Tigers have fourteen games pretty winnable,
most of them against under five hundred teams. I would
say nine and five minimum in the next fourteen. If
the Tigers can go nine and five of the next

(07:12):
fourteen and then use that and go to Cleveland hopefully
extend their lead a bit, I'm happy anything above that, though.
I mean, it wouldn't shock me though if they went
ten and four, eleven and three, although that's say that's
a big ask, but they're the best team in baseball.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
Yeah, and I wanted to ask you who on the
All Star bubble right now?

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Do you believe it can be?

Speaker 5 (07:31):
Multiple players are gonna help themselves over these next stretch
of games.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
The most I think that I don't think Riley Green's
on the All Star bubble, but every But here's the thing,
and I've and I've mentioned this before, it's still early
enough in the year to where, let's just say, knock
on wood obviously, if Riley Green goes through a bit
of a slump, If Spencer Tropolsen goes through a bit
of a slump, Dylan Dingler, even with his not hitting

(07:57):
woes lately, but has his numbers have dipped a bit
to where I don't know if he'll make it. Everybody's
a slump away from being borderlined. But I think except
maybe Glabor Torrez because second base is such a weak position,
or if you're Hobby Bayez, you're a hot streak away
from being right back in.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
So so let me hear your current lock try now,
and then let me hear who's on the bubble for.

Speaker 6 (08:18):
You current locks for All Stars?

Speaker 4 (08:21):
Is it just torking Green for you?

Speaker 6 (08:23):
I'm putting Green honestly, lock. If you're talking about lock locked,
Terrek Schoogle.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
That's it, lock lock locking.

Speaker 6 (08:36):
Everybody's a slump away from their numbers dipping. I think
Riley Green is pretty safe.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
I actually respect that saying. I understand what what Riley
Green means to you. That's that's I gotta go around
the real quick JB. Smooth voice.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
The reason was, Terry Schooble is your only current lot
right now as it relates to All Star.

Speaker 7 (08:57):
Uh green in there. I want to throw Green in there,
I really do. But I think if we're doing absolute
locks and you know, things could shake out a little
bit better, it's gotta be school. I mean, that's it.
That's an absolute lock.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Obviously. Mike Reed puts Hovey Hovey Hobby not pass all right.

Speaker 6 (09:17):
Well, if anybody thinks Hovey Bayas is a lock, then
you're just trying to get one over on Neil. And
don't get me wrong, Neil had to eat some crow
yesterday and deservedly so. But hove is definitely not a lock.
His oh PS was seven thirteen, just like less than
a week ago. Shout out to him for the hot streak.
But baseball, with the season not even half over, numbers

(09:38):
can fluctuate really really fast. I've seen it happen to
all kinds.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
Of Vincent E believes that Dylan Dingler is an all star.

Speaker 6 (09:46):
Well, Vincent Vincity, that's just not true. Like, with all
due respect Vincity, Dylan Dingler is not a lock. He's
could get it with a hot streak. Obviously, we know
what type of arm he has behind the plate, and
he's played the catcher position well. But Dylan Dingler is
not a lock.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
A couple more man jay E Jeb says Green tourists
schoob lot.

Speaker 6 (10:07):
I don't hate that like those are to me, Green
and Torres are close to being locks. It's just I've
seen the best of players, even Riley Green a couple
of times, go through some skids where all of a
sudden you're like, oh boy, that ops is a dropped
like twenty spots in two days, Like I've seen it happen.
I'm not saying I have PTSD.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
We've s not that it's an indictment on who we
believe they are as players, but we've seen them go
through stretches where it's like, man, they're like one for
their last twenty Yeah, it changes everything. But then we've
also seen them go out there and pop off in
a few games, and you you still don't business about it.
You've been like, hey, look at Roddy Green now that
battle evers jumped to forty points where you're at now.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
But I'm looking in the chat and people are putting.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
In more of their locks too, And Dante one five one,
I gotta read his before I go over to the cavassier.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
He says locks.

Speaker 5 (10:56):
He believes a schooble touris Green torquosen, and he puts
a question mark this one common.

Speaker 6 (11:01):
I think Cayley's probably more of a lock than Torkalsin,
and I like, obviously, I think Torque is having a
great year. But the first pace position, I know Paul
Goldschmidt is leading a random from Tampa Bay's gotten over
nine hundred oh ps. A lot of it just depends
the reason why Torres is more of a lock than Torque,
for example, in my opinion, is more of a byproduct

(11:23):
of the position that he plays.

Speaker 5 (11:27):
Schools the only absolute all star lock for you right now,
I know, I guess I'll stick up as the only
Riley Green fan here on the show and the network.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
I think that. I think Riley Green's a lot to
maybe the All Star Team is he made it last
year as well, so I definitely think, uh, you know,
I don't think he's playing any worse than he was
last year, if anything, like he's kind of showcased, you know,
his his skill level. And I think especially over the
last few weeks as we're kind of ramping up into
the All Star voting, you know, people are starting to
seem did Riley Green the Aura egg a little bit

(12:01):
with that home run? Who knows? Maybe maybe Sam doesn't.

Speaker 6 (12:05):
Want don't get me started on Aura. I really don't
you know, We're not gonna have this discussion.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
We're not gonna do this.

Speaker 6 (12:13):
I really don't want to put myself as a hater
of certain players on my own team.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
But you see Vincent before we get to Zayire. You
see Vincent, right, what do he say? Think he's trying
to egg you on for a bet?

Speaker 5 (12:26):
He says, what happens when when Dingler makes the All
Star Team?

Speaker 6 (12:30):
Vincent, I'm not saying that I don't want Dylan Dingler
to be an All Star. I don't throw the lord
lock around like it's the word and or the even
give it to, and I want to give it to
Riley Green. I don't think he's gonna go through a catastrophic,
prolonged slump. I don't think any Tiger is going to

(12:52):
go through something like that coming up. But I've just
you've seen it, like even at the beginning of the
year from a guy like Juan So. And if you
put one Soda on this Tiger's team, he would be
the best hitter he's could. He'd probably be in the
Hall of Fame if he retired right now. It happens
to everybody. Everybody could even get a little bit dinged
up and play through some things. That's all I'm saying.

(13:13):
I just I'm not throwing around the word lock like
it's nothing, man.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
I mean, you're being fair. You're being fair there. I
do believe we.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
Have at least we're at least running it back with
the two All Stars from last year.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
But I get it.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
You have been an interesting fan of Riley Green this year,
and I believe that you've been one that's tried to
be as fair as possible when it comes down to
assessment who he is.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
And I can respect it.

Speaker 5 (13:41):
I can respect it even though I'm signed on the
on the on the.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
Same as Cavasi.

Speaker 5 (13:46):
I believe it's at least at least schools in Green
getting in the fair enough. We gotta talk a tolb
really quick, man tee this up, and I know we're
gonna talk about this more in the next segment too.
We might get other people's take when they call in.
But Jaire Alexander, does Jamie have his video India?

Speaker 6 (14:02):
I put it in there. I put it in there
because Hey, shout out to you. I know that the
that the network was really starving for some content about that,
and A JB. Smooth delivered where all the rest of us,
including myself failed. And we'll get back to that when
we come back to break because I think you have

(14:23):
an interesting take. I think we all gave our potential
takes of what we would think of my potential deal,
which makes me look a little foolish. Not gonna lie,
but we'll talk about it. We'll we'll we'll talk about it.

You could take a little bit of time two three
D take that time off because y'all know how Lion's
season is around behind the scenes, in in front of
the cameras and shout out to the slete booth too,
got Cabasia chasing Salm booth, JB. Smooth in a TD
booth in turn Ryns in the building and Flannel Sam
Jia Alexander. We discussed this and JB. Smooth dropped some

(19:18):
of those truth bombs that we were discussing. We were thinking, Hey,
the price might be this, this is something that you know,
it would be cool if the Lions look this way.
You even thought that this was something that maybe the
Lions gotta take a look at.

Speaker 6 (19:30):
Well, and I completely overshot probably what it would have
taken to get Jay Alexander.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
Based on what.

Speaker 5 (19:37):
It took and based on what you're saying, I'm like,
can we run this back real quick?

Speaker 4 (19:40):
Can I go back in a degree?

Speaker 6 (19:42):
Well, to be fair, I think that JayR. Alexander wanted
to be in Baltimore. He's a college teammates with Lamar Jackson,
and obviously Baltimore get it. That's a good situation. You
know that if you go to the Ravens, you're going
to get a chance to play for the Super Bowl.
Because the Ravens are always good. I think they've earned
the respect is in the regular season. You can pretty

(20:03):
much pencil in eleven twelve wins, an MVP caliber season
from Lamar Jackson, a good defense that's well coached, a
secondary with a lot of talented players. I definitely understand
why he did that. However, the contract one year, four
million with potential two million in playing time incentives, I'm

(20:25):
quite frankly shocked that he took a contract that low,
But our very own JB. Smooth had a take on it.
If you want to go ahead and play that and
then respond to your take, yep.

Speaker 7 (20:37):
Well Dil's done. Has send the books Gyer Alexander sions
with the Ravens, just giving him more ammunition to have
a playoff run this season as well too. One year,
four mil with two mil inexcentives, so he's making upwards
of six million dollars just off of a one year deal.
When Hell also on Waker Wilbert, we're talking about him

(20:58):
getting what fifteen sixteen Hell Flannel wanted to go to
twenty but one year. We couldn't have offered that. We
couldn't have offered that or something a little bit more.
And I know he wants to sit here and play
with his old college teammate and Lamar Jackson, which is cool,
that's fine, but come on, the lines are on the rise.
I would have at least kicked the tires on this.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
Brad.

Speaker 7 (21:17):
You can't tell me that you didn't at least try
and offer something. Please just just let me know to
ease my mind.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
Goodness, Look, JB. Smooth, I gotta go over to you first.

Speaker 5 (21:30):
Mass voice for reason, because this wasn't just a reaction video.

Speaker 4 (21:35):
This felt like personal.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Man.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
Talk to me, bro, it.

Speaker 7 (21:39):
Was a little personal, just because we were talking about
it earlier last week, and I'm just going back thinking, like, yeah,
our crazy predictions of what we thought he'd want in
a contract was just like all right, outrageous.

Speaker 11 (21:52):
Man.

Speaker 7 (21:53):
You know, maybe that's something Brad doesn't want to do.
But to sit here and see him sign a one
year deal with the Ravens and take less money than
what we all projected, what probably for other sports analysts
projected as well too, It's just it's crazy just to
sit here and play with Lamar Jackson. Obviously, I think
he sees something in the Ravens right now that he
wants to help this team along with I don't know

(22:15):
how long he will be playing for them, what you know,
how much time he'll get on the field. But at
the same time, he sees the Ravens on the rise
as well too. And I believe we played the Ravens
this season as well too, so we are going to
have to see this man once again. And honestly, I
would like it to be on our side if he
was going to be playing still, like it should have

(22:35):
been on our side. You know, Brad loves these one
year proven deals. This is a perfect example of a
one limit history to this perfect example.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
This was this is this was sus season was Brad Holmes.
This was absolute sun Like.

Speaker 5 (22:52):
When I saw the amount, I was like, you know what,
maybe flannel was on or something. Obviously the context matters,
but money still talks, Opportunity is still talks. It's not
as if the Detroit Lions are some barren situation that
wouldn't have been able to present a Super Bowl expectant
season to jyr and a little bit more money probably

(23:12):
a lot more money, especially when we were talking about
what they had available, what you would probably do.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
To show up and not just show up.

Speaker 5 (23:19):
You're talking about pushing the secondary well, well, well beyond
what I already believe is elite. I'm expecting some steps
up from guys like Terryan Donold, and I thought Jay
Alexander could have been a guy that provided a little
bit more than depth.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
For this secondary.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
I don't want to take away from a TA and
it's inituating because I was a little bit of what
we were talking about before. But when you're talking about
that type of money, it's like, could ten million, you know,
could ten million have have convinced him to come to
Detroit and try and win a Super Bowl here rather
than going to Baltimore.

Speaker 4 (23:52):
With you know, an old friend and teammate.

Speaker 7 (23:55):
Hell, I'll get you eight right now. I said, hell,
I'll give you eight right now, plus a meal.

Speaker 5 (24:00):
In his sentims if it helps, like a sprinkled or
was this one that was just like I think it's this.
I believe it's what you've been saying all along, and
what we've been saying all along, no matter what we think,
no matter what we believe.

Speaker 4 (24:14):
Brad Holmes really believes he's cooking. Brad Holmes, I.

Speaker 5 (24:17):
Think he believes in the secondary just as much as
he's talking about he believes in the defensive line. And
that's where I do believe when you hear him say, yeah,
our defensive line room is.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
Set, I actually believe he thinks that. I really do.
He's been very honest throughout this process.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
And when you look at the secondary, they have made
a lot of investments there, and that to me is
where when we're looking from the outside of their room
looking in, we see what we see and we believe, hey,
they need these.

Speaker 4 (24:42):
Things to be able to get the Super Bowl contingent.

Speaker 5 (24:44):
But Brad Holmes, throughout this process has been stoically uh petty.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
Yea and and stubborn to his own path.

Speaker 5 (24:54):
And who can question that with the results and the
success they've had, even when they got decimated, they still
found ways to get to fifteen and two and gave
themselves a great shot at the posts.

Speaker 6 (25:05):
And here's the thing, and this is where I think
me and the chat will never ever kumbaya whatsoever. And
this is not even just for this particular case. It's
it's a philosophical thing. If you want to harp on
JayR Alexander's injuries because I said it the last time
we had talked about him. Three out of the last
four seasons, he's uh had his season cut very short

(25:27):
by injuries, like played less than half. That's a problem.
That's obviously something that it's funny because Brad Holmes I
don't think he really does look at that too much.
But I get it if you're turned off by that. However,
one thing that this fan base does more than anything
is prop up our role players and denigrate other team stars,

(25:48):
acting like he's a bomb. We don't need him. What
are you talking about. I even saw Doughboy Steve say
that he's a loser and it's like Packer he was.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
They all are.

Speaker 6 (25:58):
Fine, fine, But I salute you, and I'm not mad
at Brad Holmes either. I'm not like, why didn't you
make this move?

Speaker 1 (26:06):
This?

Speaker 6 (26:07):
This is the reason why they're not gonna win the
Super Bowls because they didn't get Jyr Alexander. No, but
I'll tell you what, do I believe this is the
type of move that could put the Ravens over over
the top, You bet your ass I do. I'm not
picking them to win the Super Bowl. I ultimately think
that they'll probably flame out in the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (26:26):
Ravens defense, you don't want more weapons in their secondary
at all.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
You don't want any more weapons on the Ravens.

Speaker 5 (26:32):
We already understand how they roll, We understand how hower
Ball pushes them, We understand what this defense has been historically.
It doesn't matter who they turn out on that roster.
We know how they're showing out and showing up. And
that's where when you're talking about Super Bowl expectations, that's
absolutely fair. We talked about the teams in the NFC
that we didn't want to be able to get a
hold of some of the players that might be available.

(26:54):
We were like, yo, some of these guys are available,
we want to be the ones to also be in
the mix. Because could you imagine if Miles Garrett was
getting traded and it was to one of these other
NFC teams, Because you imagine that Taylor Hendrickson was actually
getting traded and it was like the Commanders and you
continue to pose certain scenarios. That was like, man, you
know what, even if this isn't a need of ours,
do you really want to have to go up against

(27:14):
that especially now think about the fact that you're looking
at Frank ragnow retiring. Can you imagine if one of
these other pass rushers went and our defensive line is
getting just.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
A little bit weaker. That would be a horrible compounding
of situations there.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
And so when you're talking about this thing at the
super Bowl level, I do believe it's fair to look
at what are your potential super Bowl matchups? What are
these guys doing the position themselves to try and win
a Super Bowl? And if the Ravens are still making moves,
which before they did this move, people would have said
that they're already super Bowl contenders. After they make the move,
all people can will be able to look at and

(27:49):
say is they're trying to do things to make sure
you think they can push those chances up and give
themselves greater chances than they probably had prior.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
And that's where I absolutely I'm in lock set with you.

Speaker 5 (28:00):
I trust him, Brad, and I do believe that Brad
believes in what he has. I believe in ta I'm
waiting to see it in this Rakes Shaw has, but
I'm going to give him some the chance to prove himself.
I believe in some of the dishes they've made, and
then obviously that safety tandem back there. But this is
where I do understand when you look at what some
of these other teams are doing. We talked about teams

(28:21):
that are winning championships all over the other sports, you know,
rounds from hockey and baseball and all this other stuff
and basketball, and we're looking at the moves that they're doing.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
They already were contenders, they were already teams.

Speaker 5 (28:31):
That were gonna be able to get somewhere, but they
still went and made that extra move.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
And even we hear the Tiger saying the same thing, Scott.

Speaker 5 (28:37):
Harris didn't say, oh, we're not World Series contenders as is.
He said, no, we're World Series contenders. But because we are,
that's making us more aggressive at our.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
Trade deadline approach. And so from that.

Speaker 5 (28:48):
Perspective, I kind of get what you're saying. If you
could find a way to get players like that, that
was a layup.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
Man. If you're talking about you might have a handshake
deal with Big Z and you.

Speaker 5 (28:58):
Could have gotten a potentially a player of Jaiye's caliber
to help push you over the top.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
Not that they're not already super Bowl caliber.

Speaker 6 (29:04):
Well, and this is where this is where I have
to say this as well. And this is just my prediction.
And this doesn't mean that the Ravens are going to
win the Super Bowl, that I'm picking them to win it,
because quite frankly, I probably still won't because there's too
many questions to me about Lamar Jackson the playoffs. But
that's another conversation for another day. I do think that

(29:25):
JayR Alexander, at one year, four million, low risk six
million with incentives, is going to be one of the
best and most valuable contracts in the NFL, and quite frankly,
I'm surprised that JayR Alexander took it. I think that
this tells you something about who he is as a person,
who he is as a player, and maybe he's looking
at himself in the mirror a bit, because all I

(29:48):
ever hear about is he's a diva, he's a cancer,
he didn't accept a pay cup from the packers, makes
him a bad guy and whatnot. But this tells me
that JayR Alexander understands that if he balls out, if
he plays under this cheap contract, if he has a
great year, if he stays healthy and the Ravens make
a deep playoff run that this is his chance to

(30:08):
get a bigger payday after the season. I think this
shows that jay R Alexander values winning. I think it
shows that he values relationships. And I understand when you're
friends with Lamar Jackson, one of the best quarterbacks in
the league, it makes it easier. But I think he
probably could have got more somewhere else. But jay R
Alexander is smart. I think he's being savvy. I think

(30:28):
he's going to a situation that will really benefit him
and that raven secondary next year and JB I have
put something in that about that in slack what it
could potentially look like in December, because one of their
safeties looks like he's going to be out till December
and this is come playoff time. What it could look like.
Cornerback Nate Wiggins, strong safety Kyle Hamilton. We know the

(30:52):
type of star that he is. Free safety are Darius Washington,
who is probably going to be out till December, but
they expect him back. He was the eighth eighth rank
PFF safety last year. Cornerback JR. Alexander, who's a two
time All Pro last one being in twenty twenty two
and then sliding over to play more of the nickel
role would be a Marlin Humphrey, who was a two

(31:12):
time All Pro, including last year was an All Pro.
That's the type of power move that makes this secondary.
If this secondary can stay healthy and you even include
rotational pieces like rookie Malachi Starks and a guy like
Shadobi a woozy, that to me is the best secondary
in football. Our Darius Washington's a little iffy because he's

(31:33):
coming from back from an Achilles and they don't expect
him back till December. But come playoff time, if they
can keep this intact, adding JayR Alexander, it's formidable. It'll
be not legion of boom because I don't think we'll
ever see a secondary quite like that. Again, they were
so dominant, but best secondary in the NFL. Absolutely, and
that's why the Ravens did it. They got an opportunity

(31:54):
to get somebody who could be like a star for very,
very cheap because he's depreciated.

Speaker 5 (32:00):
And it's an interesting thing because we consider our Detroit
Lions in the same era of these teams, while meanwhile
we look at the national landscape and they're not other
than like Mark slav And in one of his other
co host panels, who's a Chicago Bears fan, so he's
not gonna really stoke the Beast, says relates to the Lions,
who've punched.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
Them in the nose over and over and over again.

Speaker 5 (32:21):
There's nobody else who I'm seeing that's saying, hey, yeah,
you know what, the Lions. They are super Bowl contenders.
The Lions are on the same level as these other
teams we believe are gonna win too.

Speaker 4 (32:30):
They're not even giving them that.

Speaker 5 (32:31):
In the NFC They're they're everyone is just push button
saying it's definitely the Eagles, so they won the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (32:37):
Definitely the upstart commanders.

Speaker 5 (32:39):
And then then there's other teams who wonder if it's
gonna be a struggle for the Lions themselves in their
own NFC North Division. So that to me is why
it does matter when you see other teams who have
these pedigrees making these types of moves, who have gone
on playoff runs, who have won Super Bowls. Maybe not
some of these players, but some of those teams have,
and these organizations they know what they're doing.

Speaker 4 (33:01):
And if we're not careful.

Speaker 5 (33:03):
Those Lions get passed up quick We saw how quickly
the Lions passed up teams because they did do a
lot of good things right, and they took a lot
of chances and risks early on, especially with some young players.
But that's where I still continue to go back to
this aspect of I see what these other good teams
are doing, but I'm still giving some time to Brad Holmes,
who to sometimes it feels like he's been here for

(33:26):
twenty years with how good he's doing things, how much
this Lions team has already succeeded, seeing the only two
division banners hanging up in Ford Field right now. And
so that's the other component of it where I'm just like,
you know what, I do believe that Brad Holmes is
one of those guys who can do it his own way.
But this is gonna be that biggest year, the biggest season, obviously,

(33:47):
because this is the one that culminates, and you're gonna
rely on draft picks, you're trying to rely on keeping
this scene together, You're trying to rely on your handing
out now big contracts. These weren't things that he had
to deal with at the beginning of it now he's having.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
To deal with it.

Speaker 5 (33:59):
And I do believe the Lions, me partially. I believe
that they are Super Bowl contenders. I believe that they
still are in the C contenders and that they're going
to show out quite well.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
This is just a situation.

Speaker 5 (34:11):
Where I do believe a guy like the Zadarius Smith,
a guy you know, someone else, will help either in
the linebackers or a long daw offensive line something like that.
These things do help the Lions as it relates to
a super Bowl, for sure.

Speaker 6 (34:23):
And this is all that we're talking about. And you know,
I'm bit consistent about this. I think jay R Alexander
would come in to the Lions and be the best
corner on the team. I'm not as concerned with diminishing
Terry On's role a little bit, although I think he
could be a really valuable rotational piece, although we know

(34:44):
it's not gonna happen. He's gonna be the starter. But
Cody Ingle, again, I feel like we agree on almost
nothing when it comes to the Lions. When I was
talking about the Ravens and how it could be the
best secondary, he puts could be in quotes. Here's the
problem with that Kyle Hamilton and Marlon Humphrey were first
team All Pros last year. Nate Wiggins, whether you like

(35:04):
it or not, put up better numbers from the cornerback
position as a rookie than Terry On Arnold did. Jay
r Alexander has been an All Pro when he's been healthy.
But at the very very least, you know the type
of player Kyle Hamilton is. You know the type of
player Marlon Humphrey is, and still and still is. It
was and still is. There's a lot of nons. There's

(35:24):
a few question marks, like ar Darius Washington's injury. I
get that Malachi Starks as a rookie, I understand that completely,
But it's not just like there's a lot of ifs
that have to happen. There's some nones. There's a lot
of nons. That Ravens secondary was one of the best
in the NFL last year and they just got some reinforcements.

Speaker 5 (35:43):
I see chuckle cheese in a child. I say, how
anybody could think that this team, regardless of the schedule,
is going to take too many steps back.

Speaker 4 (35:51):
They're too good and they're too deep.

Speaker 5 (35:52):
Well, that's the thing, everybody that you guys would probably
con consider it to be analysts and experts well above us.
They're saying these things, that's what they're saying. The people
who believe they're not gonna take too far steps back
are literally people like flannel On myself who believe that
this team still has the division ahead of them, who
still do believe that this team is gonna be major
contenders in the NFC and contenders at the super Bowl level.

(36:15):
We've consistently been on the side of that this team
as currently constructed is super Bowl level, but we also
saw that there's a level beyond. This isn't to me
about if this team takes steps back in the regular season.
I don't care if they win eleven games and win
a division. That's not a step back for me. For me,
a step back is where we start to judge them
in the playoffs, if this team gets to the super

(36:35):
Bowl or not, And that to me is where I
believe the mindset has to be. But I continue to
give like, no matter how I feel about things should go,
I continue to go back to this. I do believe
Brad has given himself the ultimate flexibility at the trade
deadline because he rolls by this by this philosophy, we
don't know what the needs are gonna be.

Speaker 7 (36:55):
We don't.

Speaker 5 (36:56):
We looked at the draft and I wonder how many people,
if they knew what Frank not was gonna do. Some
people who might have thought we need to double up on,
you know, in a defensive line early. I don't know
how many people change their perspective on some of these
pics on rat Ledice once Frank wragnow retires and then
they understand oh, because Brad said it.

Speaker 4 (37:13):
He was like, man, look at all you guys. You
guys are talking about the jam.

Speaker 5 (37:16):
O pit and then all of a sudden it became
a need, but at a time later than when we
drafted them. So it's like I continue to kind of
bounce back and forth with that and where Brad is
shown to have this post over the team.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
That's why I'm like, Okay, I can breathe a little bit, because.

Speaker 5 (37:29):
As fans, we all gonna have our opinions. Chat gonna
disagree with us, We're gonna disagree with Brad. They gonna
disagree with Brad. We might disagree with them, but at
the end of the day, I have found this place
of where I see some people losing a cool a
little bit with Eisermen, both chat family, both media people,
both not as well as national people. With Brad Holmes,

(37:49):
it's more or less where we're like, you know what,
based on the landscape, this is an opinion we think
would work. But I haven't seen anybody who, even with
those takes, who haven't still tip the cap to.

Speaker 4 (38:00):
Brad, except for a few people.

Speaker 5 (38:01):
I see some in the chat who is still saying
they're not going to trust him Brad until he wins
a Super Bowl, despite the fact that I believe he
has this team firmly in a position to do what
they gotta do this year.

Speaker 6 (38:11):
Trust is different than what I said before, which is
I don't think Brad is infallible, like if he does,
let me just say this and to really for kind
of like bring my point home that I've been trying
to make pretty much the entire offseason. The second the
Lions win a Super Bowl, I will never criticize another
move Brad Holmes ever makes. Never again, not once I

(38:35):
get the shows are probably going to be pretty boring
because it's going to be a Lions pep rally all
the time.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
But is this the Brad Holmes Krispy kra Absolutely absolutely.

Speaker 6 (38:43):
Until then, I will praise almost everything Brad Holmes has
done because he deserves it and he's earned it almost everything. However,
that doesn't mean that if I I still think right now,
if there's something that I disagree with, if there's something
that he does that doesn't end up working, you can
still be like man, Brad as a team that's trying

(39:05):
to win a super Bowl, who's really only gauge of
success is going to be if they win a super Bowl,
got to be a little bit better. But overall, most
of the time all in on what Brad Holmes does.
And of course I trust him.

Speaker 5 (39:17):
I do definitely, And I see some people in the
chat here, Cody Ingle, Yeah, maybe Alexander only wanted to
go to Baltiton.

Speaker 6 (39:23):
That's fair, that's I mean, he took peanuts for him.
I was willing to give him a lot more than that.
But that's okay. Like I'm responsible for everything I say
on the.

Speaker 5 (39:34):
Air, coup say what up to some friends, because guys
trust we're gonna throw that phone number out there and
we want you guys to be able to call them
both or all of these topics. Who you think the
Tigers box are FLDO only believes in schools.

Speaker 4 (39:48):
He didn't even put Rodley Green there.

Speaker 5 (39:51):
Obviously this segment here we're talking about Brad Holmes the Lions.

Speaker 4 (39:54):
I want to know.

Speaker 5 (39:55):
I want you guys to say it with your chest,
how confident you are that tod you try to Lions
are Super Bowl contenders this year, that they will find
themselves playing for then somebody's trophy. But I see a
DC big oh soo in the chat. He says kool
aid should feel some fear about the Lions situation. They
will take a step back or two just because of

(40:16):
the changes in the coaching staff.

Speaker 4 (40:19):
But there are some people who do believe we should
have some fears.

Speaker 5 (40:22):
But I just I've seen this team battle and go
through so much adversity, whether it be injuries to stars,
injury to your depth, injury to your whole defense. I've
seen this team go from we were questioning I remember
asking this in the beginning of the Lions season, do
the Lions have the best safety tandem in the NFL?

Speaker 4 (40:38):
And even the child's like, oh, kool Aid man, you
continue to learn ball because that ain't it.

Speaker 5 (40:42):
And by the end of the season they got the
best safety tandem in the NFL. There are some great
things this team has as it relates to overcoming adversity,
overcoming the history in the stigma of the Lions.

Speaker 4 (40:54):
And I love the fact that Dan Campbell called that out.
Who's here when we were trash? Yeah, that ain't us
no more? And Jared Goff say, yeah, we understand the connection,
but we don't wear that. We're something completely different.

Speaker 5 (41:04):
And so as I see this team continue to overcome adversity,
see this team only.

Speaker 4 (41:08):
Continue to win more and more games every year.

Speaker 5 (41:10):
See this team continue to not lose back to back games,
win all your division games, win all your role games
while you're banged the freak up. That to me is
where it's just like, you know, where am I supposed
to have this fear? Where am I supposed to have
this show? The Lions are gonna the older coordinators who
that Dan Campbell found. I remember what people were talking

(41:30):
about Ben Johnson early on. I remember what people were
talking about Aaron Glen even almost all the way up
until the end, until they started to realize with all
of our defense depleted, he still had this defense. I mean,
then people wanted to start to say oh, shout to
Aaron Glenn. Before that, it was two years, a couple
of years in a row, with a lot of people
saying he ain't him. So it's like, I've seen this
team overcome. I've seen this team rise to the occasion.

(41:51):
I've seen this team go well beyond the level of
what people think they are. We've seen him overcome an injury,
the Hutch who was on a absolute what I thought
was gonna be historic tear from the edge position. So
that's where my confidence comes from as it relates to
not fearing, like the whole aspect of Stokeno scared. I'm
so serious, until this team falls on his face. You

(42:11):
gotta at least lose back to back games. Bro, Listen,
I get it, but they haven't lost back to back
games literally in two and a half seasons.

Speaker 4 (42:20):
That's insane to me.

Speaker 6 (42:21):
I think I think the fear honestly comes from and
I'm not saying me, I'm not saying the majority of you.
Is the fact that expectations are sky high and we
know we know that they're not going fifteen to two,
and if they do, you know what, fine, you can
come back to this and say that I was a dumbass.
But I think we can all agree that they're not
going fifteen and two. But no, us, as Lions fans,

(42:42):
we're gonna have to accept that. We're gonna have to
realize that regular season losses on a macro level as
long as they take care of business overall, and when
the division do not matter, you might go into Kansas
City and lose, for example, the Horror, you might go
into Baltimore and lose. Horror.

Speaker 4 (43:00):
This is finally the.

Speaker 5 (43:01):
Season where I think we ride this season out with
super expectations. No matter what your team does, you know
that they're gonna wind up with their division title with
their eleven wins, and it'd be an absolute juggernaut in
the playoffs. That's what I'm expecting. And I've seen other
teams do this. We saw the Chiefs do this. We
saw forty nine Ers fans and to go through this
and they lost their three games in a row and

(43:21):
they were still like, now we.

Speaker 4 (43:23):
Gotta still dog walk, y'all. They were telling us this.
They were telling us when we were like, yeah, we're
gonna get to them. We can beat them in their home.

Speaker 5 (43:29):
This was before we had even won the games we
needed to win, but it was just crazy seeing these
teams in their fans, like even Lindsey, you know, forty
nine Ers fan, just to see how confident these teams are.
These fans are in their teams because they've done this
for some years, and that is where I believe Lions
fans should get to. I saw somebody saying in chat
Steve O, Baby Rutgers don't mean ish. I think this

(43:51):
is a season where eleven twelve wins if that's what
it comes down to them. I'm still predicted thirteen, but
eleven twelve wins if that's what it comes I think.

Speaker 4 (43:57):
We brought it down one because of right now.

Speaker 5 (43:59):
But twelve wins division title give yourself a great shot
in the playoffs. That to me means you did not
take a step back until we start to assess what
you actually did in the playoffs.

Speaker 6 (44:09):
Yep, it's one hundred percent. It's if they win less
games that does not equate to a step back. It's
all about what happens in the playoffs, and it's all
about this schedule's brutal at times, but I think the
Lions will be able to overcome it as unscathed as
you possibly can, which means about an eleven and six,

(44:29):
twelve and five record. But uh, do you know who
could help them get that record? The man that everybody
says I hate the most, Jamous and Williams, But he
might be getting I did, he might be getting. He
might be more of a priority in terms of the
future of the Lions than a lot of us may

(44:49):
have surmised earlier in the offseason. And a lot of
people on Twitter think probably as well. And we're gonna
talk about that, and we're gonna play a video clip

still talking about those Lions, and there's a little bit
of news as it relates to Jameson Williams or some
news that we might be able to expect.

Speaker 6 (48:56):
So finals, ooh yes, all right, So Jeff Risden And
for those of you who don't Jeff Risden is I'm
sure most of you do, let me make sure I
pull up everything about him. He's the managing editor for
the Lions Wire and the Draft Wire, and he's the
co host of the Detroit Lions Podcast.

Speaker 4 (49:16):
He one of the long term beats.

Speaker 6 (49:18):
Absolutely, he's a big name in this town. He was
on he was asked a question about some Lions players
and he singled one out in particular. And this video
is courtesy of Detroit Lions on SI with the handle
at All Lions FN on X. So go ahead and
play that one, mister JB. And I'm sure it'll create

(49:38):
a lot of discussion.

Speaker 13 (49:40):
Next player most likely to get extended, and Sam gave
me three choices, Jake Bates, brock Wright, Jamison Williams. Jamo
is getting done sooner than later, very very very extraordinary,
narrowly confident on that, A brilliantly confident on that.

Speaker 5 (50:05):
Geez, the level of confidence he has it actually has
it pretty fired up because we've been talking about can
this team keep all of these players? Will they be
able to keep guys like Kirby and guys like Jamo,
and then what they do splash Here you go Kirby,
and now you have Jeff Risen, who we know is
close to the situation, saying, oh, no.

Speaker 4 (50:23):
Hesitation, I'm completely confident, completely confident. That actually gets me
fired up.

Speaker 5 (50:27):
I want to keep our guys here, especially the ones
that are putting in the work that have continued to
He's he's worked at becoming, growing through I guess his immaturities,
as Dan Campbell will say, while also growing through certain
aspects like injuries. Nice put himself on the map, and
I believe that the sky is literally the limit for
Jameis and Williams. When you got Spinny saying he believes

(50:48):
that Jaymonds got opportunity to lead the Lions and receiving yards,
I believe that this is how I felt the beginning
of last season when uh T Fosse was on the
show and we were talking about the first week, who's
gonna have opportunit, Who's going to lead the Lions in
receiving yards for the first game. I really think that
this first game it bowls well for Jamo because the

(51:08):
attention I'm around will get and it only.

Speaker 4 (51:10):
Takes a few catches.

Speaker 5 (51:11):
Now you're talking about giving him more than a few catches,
giving him more than a few touches per game, making
sure that he's a vital part of this while this
offense still has so many weapons all over the field.
I love this. Give Jamo the bag, give him the cash, Oh,
the bag will give him the cast.

Speaker 4 (51:27):
JB.

Speaker 6 (51:27):
I sent something just a couple of seconds ago. You
don't have to pull it up now. I'll I'll let
you know when I'm ready for it. But uh, here's
the thing. Jamison Williams might be able to be had
for a discount if the Lions get the deal done
right now. Because as great as he was last year,
he had his first thousand yard season and I give
him a ton of credit for that. I got his

(51:49):
jersey because of it. He hasn't had there's more to go.
People at this network. It seems almost like common knowledge
and oh yeah, Jamison Williams is going to be an
all Pro. He's gonna have thirteen hundred yards. He could
lead the Lions in receiving yards. If the Lions could
get a deal done, now that's a discount. And Jamison
Williams actually actualizes the potential that a lot of us

(52:12):
have for him, which is a guy who could make
all Pro teams, then a discount could be extremely advantageous.
I for a long time thought that he was somebody
that maybe the Lions don't extend. But if he actually
actualizes his potential and is maybe the I wouldn't say

(52:32):
the best offensive player, but he certainly has that kind
of potential on a team that has a great offense
and wins the Super Bowl. There's a chance that an
extension right now would actually be the best option for
the Lions, especially if they trust them, if they trust
that some of the immaturity is behind him, if they
trust that he's somebody who takes the craft seriously, which
I believe he does. Why not I think they think

(52:54):
they can sign everybody.

Speaker 5 (52:55):
Njonafeloa says, I'm hearing another Jamo, Jersey bet Terrell Lamar.
Jamo's not getting paid in this chat because he's not appreciated.

Speaker 4 (53:04):
Man, Look, I love this, Like I said, lock him up?

Speaker 2 (53:08):
Why?

Speaker 4 (53:08):
Because I do believe that Jamison Williams is a weapon,
an all out weapon. I don't even want to call
him a wide receiver.

Speaker 5 (53:13):
This guy is a weapon the way that he's able
to shift what a defense is gonna do. And this
year you're talking about James Williams, who's going to absolutely
get that attention.

Speaker 4 (53:21):
Sleep on him this year.

Speaker 5 (53:22):
Don't roll the safety coverage over. Yeah, just sleep on
him when he's jetting down the field. I think before
it was is this kid for real? And Kim James
and Kim Jared Goff get the ball to him. That
was about a year and a half ago. They prove
that they can get that done. The next season was
can he put it together for a full year. He
did that and got that done thousand yards receiving shout

(53:43):
out to Jamison Williams this year.

Speaker 4 (53:45):
This season, it's now you're on the map. Can you
continue to produce?

Speaker 5 (53:49):
But as a defensive shift now it's pick your freaking
poison and you can't necessarily take him completely out the
game no matter what you try to do, even if
you run into a situation where you believe we're gonna
have to shade a little bit extra coverage to him
because he's fast, He's getting around everybody, he's getting open spots,
he's catching the ball better over the middle of the field.
I think about everything you put on tape last year
to make the lines comfortable to even move forward with us.

(54:12):
His hands got better, his route running got better, his
ability to catch over the middle field got better.

Speaker 4 (54:17):
His ability and then he became much more involved.

Speaker 5 (54:20):
Even as it relates to things like the handoff, the
run game and all of that. He's a weapon and
you see everybody respawn when they send this dude in motion.
That's where I'm like, you know what, I think Brad
is smart. We all believe that Brad is smart. And
if this is the word on the street for me,
it just continues to echo that whole sentiment of trust
in Brad Holmes because I do believe that James and

(54:41):
Williams is a weapon. I do believe he's gonna step
into that next level tier this year.

Speaker 6 (54:46):
Well, one thing that I wanted to talk about regarding
the whole idea of you can or you can't pay everybody.
I don't know if you got what I just as sent.

Speaker 2 (54:55):
You, Ja.

Speaker 6 (54:56):
It is the figures when it comes to Kirby Joseph's contract,
and let's just say they are very, very interesting, to
say the least. So you've got a cap hit in
twenty twenty five for those of you who are listening
audio only of about four million, twenty twenty six about
six million, twenty twenty seven to nine million, twenty twenty

(55:17):
eight thirteen million, and twenty twenty nine about eighteen million
with four void years, which I'll tell you what, when
I see something like this, it almost feels too good
to be true. And obviously you factor in signing bonuses
and all that as well, this makes me wonder why
doesn't every GM ever manage it like this. I understand

(55:41):
that the bill comes due eventually and void years. It
doesn't just mean that money just goes away. But at
the end of the day, if more contracts are structured
like this, maybe Brad Holmes can pay damn near every
in Well, I'm thinking about.

Speaker 5 (55:56):
It, and it might come at the expense sometimes of
some of the other moves that we were talking about.

Speaker 4 (56:00):
We want to see them go out.

Speaker 5 (56:01):
There and make But if you're telling me we can
sign our guys and our guys are becoming all pros
and pro bowlers, then it's like, you know what, there's
your given your tape.

Speaker 4 (56:11):
Yeah, And that is what I understand. Brad Holmes has
been masterful at this.

Speaker 5 (56:16):
You look at the teams that are on the rise
as it relates to success, their front officers don't just
have leaders or presidents or gms that are official, but
they also have guys in those front offices that understand.

Speaker 4 (56:28):
The hell out of the cap situation. You look at
Scott Harris, we know he knows what to do with
money in the cap.

Speaker 5 (56:33):
You look at Blackstone with Traju and Langdon, we all
know Blackstone. They say that this dude knows the cap situation,
the apron better than other whole team's organizations. And you
look at brad Holmes and you're proving they got this
thing figured out as well.

Speaker 6 (56:49):
That's and I know we probably should have discussed it
more when it happened, but I'm looking at that. I'm
looking at it potentially. Can Jamison Williams's contract be structured
kind of like this, because I'm at if they want
to pay Jamison Williams, this actually isn't really the mo
of the Brad Holmes front office. Usually you have to

(57:10):
be elite or really really good for multiple years. That
happened with Saint Brown, that happened with Pennay. That happened
to some degree with Aleen McNeil, although he really only
had like one great year, but he was more healthy
the year before. With Jamison Williams, he's only showed it
for one year. What this tells me is if they
pay Jamison Williams, they're not looking to do it at

(57:33):
the expense of somebody that we all love. In my opinion,
and I know Ed O'Neil put this in the chat.
Shout out to you Brian Branch is a non negotiable.
I would be shocked, like falling off this chair shocked
if Brian Branch doesn't get resigned, for example, I think
that that's going to happen. And then you got to
see with guys like Gibbs and Laporta, et cetera, et cetera.

(57:55):
But at the end of the day, maybe they can
pay everybody, especially with the cap going.

Speaker 5 (58:00):
When you're talking about everybody right now, that boils down
to Jamo, Hutch, Branch, Gibbs.

Speaker 4 (58:06):
And who else.

Speaker 6 (58:09):
I mean, well, that's the question.

Speaker 5 (58:11):
But because there if they're actually set up, if those
if that's the core of your team, they're set up
really well to make sure that they can actually bring
back everybody. Now the parts and the pieces around them,
those things might change. There might become a day where
Jamir Gibbs is literally the feature back in that backfield alone.
There might come a day and that's what as this

(58:32):
thing moves forward, and so to be able to know
though that you have that core locked up, that to
me is where Brad Holmes is cooking, because it's like
we say yes, so they have an opportunity to go
out there and bring in a big z or even
add even better edge rusher. If they want to go
out there and pay the price, they can, and they
can do something that a lot of other teams do
not do or don't have the luxury of. But if
they don't do that, guess work well. They're still designed

(58:54):
like other teams. They have one good pass rusher and
a decent interior, but their guys are just better than
other people's players already at this level. So they have
an opportunity to play with fire. But with what Browns
was already cooking with it, I don't know. It continues
to make me excited about the prospects of locking up
our young core, which I believe he's given himself a
great opportunity to do.

Speaker 4 (59:14):
The guys left waiting for their money.

Speaker 5 (59:16):
I think when you look at it this way, they
don't even have to worry.

Speaker 4 (59:20):
They don't even have to have to concern.

Speaker 5 (59:22):
They just know you don't just go out there and
ball David look at a guy like Hutch who got hurt.
They look at a guy like Aleem who got hurt
after he got paid, who got hurt before he got paid.
It's not affecting anything for any of these guys, they're like,
go out there on work.

Speaker 4 (59:33):
We still got you this.

Speaker 5 (59:35):
When you talk about from a player's perspective, this has
to be very very comfortable situation for a lot of
these young players. You look at even some of the
guys on the friends who are like, Eh, brad'say, give you.

Speaker 4 (59:46):
A proven deal too, I'll give you a one year
deal as well.

Speaker 5 (59:49):
I think that this is a good situation for our
young guys to be able to come and just focus
on balling out and getting as good as you can
injury or not, expectations, bet or not, just go out
there on ball out.

Speaker 4 (59:58):
And Brad Holmes just put himself in a position to
pay those guys.

Speaker 6 (01:00:02):
I'll tell you what if they're if they're going to
pay everybody, that would make it even more I think
advantageous for them to uh give jay R Alexander a
cheap point all right again no, but but for real
And and here's a couple of things that we're mentioned
in the chat, because that might be the type of
things that the Lions need to do get people on

(01:00:22):
the cheap, some depreciated guys. If they choose to sign everybody.
You look at uh, Cody Ingle and Dante one five
to one, back to back. I think these are very interesting.
Cody Ingle, a running back is last on my list. Wow,
Dante one five to one. Could azo be the odd
man out? See Angeloni? I think with him. I think

(01:00:44):
with Alexanzeloni, he's going to end up making something that
is reasonable. I don't think he's gonna break the bank
because at the end of the day, he's obviously his
production would dictate that he's probably worth more than he's
going to make. But he's also in his early thirties,
and I just I think they'll get something done that's

(01:01:06):
not crazy, and they could still manage that with running backs.
Let me just say this. A couple of years ago,
during this time period really between Adrian Peterson's prime and
what we have now, it did seem like running backs
were depreciated all across the board. However, we're seeing guys

(01:01:27):
and also it speaks to us short careers like you saw.
Probably one of the most famous examples recently is Todd Gurley.
He gave the NFL five really damn good years and
then he was finished. You go back to guys like
Sean Alexander Priest Holmes. They gave you their prime, which
was short and then they were basically finished. Because running
back is a very hard position to play. You take
a lot of you take a lot in terms of

(01:01:50):
getting hit damn near every play.

Speaker 4 (01:01:52):
Getting ready special.

Speaker 5 (01:01:54):
That guy finds way to keep himself from getting rock
too many times.

Speaker 6 (01:01:58):
And that's why it's not off the board for Jamiir
Gibbs to get extended. You're also seeing guys like Saquon
Barkley and Derrick Henry last year when people thought maybe
they were not that they were done, but that they
were on their way down. Probably have the best years
of their career and like ye're eight to nine.

Speaker 5 (01:02:16):
And another thing is this when you have players that
you look at their targets, they're taking advantage of every
single target. That's where we say everybody can't he do't
understeam and there's only one ball.

Speaker 4 (01:02:25):
Then we look at them starting to approach it. Now
we're saying, bro, they could actually have four one thousand
yard position of skill players.

Speaker 5 (01:02:32):
Why because they're all doing things like when the pep
ball is thrown on on the right's gonna catch it.
When Jamo has his opportunities to catch the ball off
the backfield, he's going to do that. And so now
we see a guy who over the last few years
has stepped up both his receptions and his receiving yards
out the backfield, which makes him.

Speaker 4 (01:02:49):
Now what they call him weapon acts. He's a weapon.

Speaker 5 (01:02:53):
I don't even look at him as the traditional running back.
He's proven he can do the things that they do.
He can run between the tackles, he can outside, he
can shrug off, he can truck, he.

Speaker 4 (01:03:02):
Can spin off. Your linebackers just don't even try.

Speaker 5 (01:03:07):
And then when you talk about the play action, when
you see again, when you're talking about what they do
to Jay Moo, look at what they do in the
play action to Jamiir Gibbs out the backfield.

Speaker 4 (01:03:16):
These are the things where I'm like, you know, they've
been cooking.

Speaker 5 (01:03:19):
And I hope that Jamiro Gives is somebody that is
brought back because I do believe when you go back
to your more traditional single backfield, where you're not running
out the best running back tandems.

Speaker 4 (01:03:29):
And probably two of the top five.

Speaker 5 (01:03:31):
Backs in the league, then you're gonna then it's way
I believe the true value even more of the value
of a Jamier Gibbs is gonna shine through.

Speaker 6 (01:03:39):
Yeah, and I'm not saying because of his skill. I'm
saying that running backs often, you know, wear down earlier
than other positions. But you also mentioned that and also
something that is mentioned a lot in the chat. He's
definitely not overused. He's split time with David Montgomery, and
it seems like David Montgomery takes more of the punished

(01:04:00):
in terms of taking taking punishment and dishing it out.
And before we we get everybody else's opinion in the room,
Jay Geb shout out to the four nine nine super
Gibbs is the only running back in the league that
could ever come close to beating Barry Sanders record period.
Are you talking franchise rushing record. That's a little aggressive

(01:04:22):
for me, But hey, Jamiir Gibbs is Barry Sanders like
in some of the ways that he runs. He's one
of the most talented backs in all the football. He's
one of the best backs in all the football. He's special.
He's not just plugin said running back and he'll get
a thousand yards in this system. Jamiir Gibbs is special.
He's a special football player.

Speaker 4 (01:04:43):
I absolutely love that what I'm doing, Tom Ryan.

Speaker 14 (01:04:46):
So just yesterday I got a chance to watch the
Field Yates podcast where he sat down and interviewed Brad Holmes.
And this was just a little funny because at the
Feldman event we got Justin and I got a chance
to talk to Marshall Folk about if he could be
Jamior Gibbs in a forty yard dash. Marshall Folk obviously
said that he could in his prime, obviously not right now.

(01:05:08):
But in this podcast, Holmes mentioned that in his time
with the Rams, he got a chance to talk to
Marshall Fulk and Marshall talked to Brad Holmes and said,
you can't have a running back that is specifically used
for goal line situations, third and shorts, fourth and shorts,

(01:05:28):
receiving out of the backfield, home run guys. And when
Brad Holmes was drafting Jamier Gibbs, he thought of this
conversation and in his head he goes, Jamier Gibbs is
that all around back. This is the guy that you
can put in those short situations, can put you on
the goal line, receive, put it as the home run guy.

Speaker 2 (01:05:49):
And that's what.

Speaker 14 (01:05:49):
Jamier Gibbs absolutely is. He He's an all around guy
and he's such a luxury piece for this offense. And
I love David Montgomery, but there's things that jamior Gis
Gibbs can do that Montgomery can't. And there's things that
Montgomery can do in Jamier Gibbs. And that's why those
two works so well together. And that's why back in
the day I hated Jamier Gibbs pick because of what

(01:06:11):
Flannel said that the running backs are depreciated value. But
with Gibbs, he's so valued because he can do so
many things.

Speaker 5 (01:06:18):
He's the weapon I see here in the chat Cardier
say he's a game breaker.

Speaker 4 (01:06:21):
That's the thing.

Speaker 5 (01:06:22):
You can you know this Jamo and Jamier Gibbs, out
of anybody else on the team.

Speaker 4 (01:06:27):
They're the home run hitters.

Speaker 5 (01:06:28):
You you could literally say that they could take it
to the house on any play, that they're the target.

Speaker 4 (01:06:34):
You can players really say that. That to me is
why I do believe things get a little bit different.

Speaker 5 (01:06:38):
When you talk about how you you know judge or
how you you know you go out there you try
and make your assessment, or who these players are versus
the money you're gonna pay them. These guys are both
proven to be weapons that can do everything. They can
play their positions traditionally, and they can do a little
bit more that allows them to be the weapons and
keeps your offense as you don't even have to due

(01:07:00):
necessary as relates to trick plays. Keeping Jamo involved in
a one game, keeping Jamiir Gibbs involved in the path
game keeps defenses off balance just that much more.

Speaker 6 (01:07:09):
The best part about Jamiro Gibbs though, well, not the
best part. The best part is him as a player.
But one of the best parts is you still have
him for two years under super cheap and then a
potential fifth year option, and hopefully by then the Lions
will have a cashed one in. And that's and that's
really what that's really what matters is that if they're
able to if the Lions are able to cash one in,

(01:07:31):
it's not really I don't really give a damn if
some of these contracts are more backloaded and whatnot, because
by then I'll just be doing this every single show.
But the back to the original topic of Jameson Williams,
I wanted to get Chase involved on this.

Speaker 4 (01:07:46):
Would you.

Speaker 6 (01:07:49):
How would you feel about Jamison Williams getting extended?

Speaker 3 (01:07:53):
Wouldn't bother me none, I'm all for it. I mean,
sign him now before you know, before the price goes up.
You know, it makes it simpler and it makes it
easy on yourself, you know, just a little bit of
forward thinking, which you know Brad tends to be uh
a little bit ahead of the curve with so you know,
he was with you know, the uh, the Jamior Gabbs
pick for sure at least. And so you know, I'd
love to see him inc up a deal and you know,

(01:08:15):
be on this team long term. You know, obviously he's
shown that he's pretty electric and explosive with the ball
in his hands, and I think, you know, we were
able to give him some more touches. He's able to
stay healthy and stay on the field and continue to blossom.
We'll only just get better, so you know.

Speaker 6 (01:08:29):
And speaking of of a Jamison Williams, that was a
well said Chase. I believe it was jt Olsen in
the chat. I lost it, but I remember what he said.
He said, would you feel comfortable giving Jamison Williams twenty
five million a year? And this is coming from old
flannel Sam, the JMO hater, Yes, I would, one hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
I would.

Speaker 6 (01:08:51):
Twenty five million a year is potentially a bargain that
would make him Let me just do a little calculations.
According to my calculations, but for real, the fourteenth highest
paid wide receiver in the NFL according to AAV the fourteenth.
And a lot of people in this room, I think
a couple of people in this room, and a lot

(01:09:11):
of people on this network. A lot of people in
this chat think that Jamison Williams is going to be
an All Pro next year. Some people even think he
has potential to be first team All Pro. And I
see this from WEEZD three to one to three in
the chat, as well, pay him now before he has
a thirteen hundred yard, ten touchdown season year. And that's
what I was saying at the very beginning, because yes,
Jamison Williams absolutely broke out, he had his one thousand yards,

(01:09:33):
But there's more that you can tap into. He can
be a guy that gets almost seventy receptions. He can
be a guy that's top five in the NFL and receiving.

Speaker 5 (01:09:44):
Yards, especially when you have a Brad Holmes who's been
able to go out there and find your three and
four wide receivers on some budgets.

Speaker 4 (01:09:50):
Man, and they come in and actually performs.

Speaker 5 (01:09:52):
I like what you get out of you guys like
Raymond and out of Patrick, and I believe that as
long as you can continue to hit on those guys
at a discount, then it allows you to be able
to carry the bag as it relates to your number
one of your number two, because you know that you're
getting just a little bit more. I'm and Rod is
gonna be your sure handed possession receiver, that is your dog.
And then Jamo's the guy that you're sending out, not

(01:10:14):
just as it relates to taking the top off of
a defense, but also how you start to get versatile
with your offense. And I think it inspires things. There's
sometimes I don't know, you know, when you see Jamo
and I'm start to go in motion.

Speaker 4 (01:10:27):
I absolutely love it.

Speaker 5 (01:10:29):
And to have a quarterback with the IQ of a
Jared Golf, that's where I believe you keep these types
of pieces around him so that you can maximize who
you have and the Jared Goff. It's not just about
the offensive line in front of them, but it's also
what you're able to do with these offensive players and
these skilled positions around them to keep these defenses in
a position where they look confused.

Speaker 4 (01:10:49):
Think about how.

Speaker 5 (01:10:50):
Many juke moves we've seen from Jamier Gibbs and James
and Williams over the last year and a half two years,
Just how many absolute juke moves in open space or
even I think it was Jamison william against the Vikings
where they threw it out to him in a flat
and it was just hey, you're gonna have to just
juke this guy, and he did it. It was just the dance. Dance,
dance got him. Ankle breakers, spin move gets the first down.

(01:11:12):
When you look at that Jamiir gives him. Whether it's
the Bucks, whether it's the Vikings, whether it's David Montgomery,
even against the freaking.

Speaker 4 (01:11:19):
Seahawks, we see what this team is capable of.

Speaker 5 (01:11:22):
But when you look at it from a perspective of
Jamo and Jamier Gibbs, I believe that they take this
team to the next level. And I do believe that
they help tremendously a Jared Golf.

Speaker 6 (01:11:31):
Oh absolutely they do. They and they have and they
will continue to. But at Terrell Lamar, he brings up
the point twenty five million. That's not enough. Maybe not,
which is why I said, if that were possible, considering
Jamison Williams hasn't quite had like his superstar arc yet,
I would do I would one hundred percent do it.
And also what Matthew Krueger, Krugy, you're doing what you do? Man,

(01:11:55):
come on, I would like to see Chameo turn into
a Julio Jones of ten years ago. Then I'd be convinced, Krugie,
you're a valuable member of this chat. Julio Jones of
ten years ago, if you dropped him into the NFL
right now, would be the best receiver in football. I think,
even better than Justin Jefferson. You're asking Jamison Williams to

(01:12:16):
be the best, you know, then maybe I'll consider getting
on a train of paying him even twenty five million
if he becomes the best receiver in football. I don't
think that's realistic. But that's okay, that's fine. We're I've
seen you do this type of stuff before. It's like
if Terry on Arnold, how many pass breakups did he
need Terry on Arnold to have? It was something outland.
There's something that respect. But uh oh man, you know,

(01:12:41):
we we're gonna get to some phone calls for sure.
Three one, three, five, five, two six three two two,
go ahead and pin that Jamis And if.

Speaker 5 (01:12:47):
You need to see a big olso on the chat,
he says, so twenty five mel for Jay Gibbs, forty
mil for Hudson, thirty five mil for j Mont two. Look,
the cap goes up year by year, and Brad Holmes
is shown that he's able to make these things. We
were sitting here questioning and wondering, just as I remember
you chat family, questioning and wondering. Some people thought Kirby
Joseph was gonna be the odd man out. You can't

(01:13:08):
sign both Kirby and Branch. So people are saying, you know,
you gotta just bring back Branch. We know how he feels,
how brad Onhos feels about Branch. Body still do Hey, Kurbs,
he's the bag. I'm talking not just pay, not even
a hometown discount. We're going to give you a historical
bag like that's what he did and it's and then
you still look at their outlook and their cap situation,

(01:13:30):
you realize they still have the ability to do this.
When you think about players in situations not for Super
Bowl expectations like Calvin and Megatron, and I don't know,
like Decker and some of these guys that I can
go back into some of the other older players, What
did you see them do just to try and put
the seam in playoff contention? We saw them go out
there and restructure their contracts to do that. We saw

(01:13:51):
Sue do this over and over and over again, to
the point that when the balloon came ready to pop,
it put the Lions in a very bad corner.

Speaker 4 (01:13:59):
So you want to make sure that you at least
get a Super Bowl out of this thing.

Speaker 5 (01:14:02):
But Brad Holmes is navigating this cap a lot better
at a time where I do believe year after year
you're gonna see this cap space go up in ways
that go well beyond the expectation like it just did
the last two seasons.

Speaker 6 (01:14:15):
Yeah, and whoever said Jmo at thirty five, I probably
a big DC biggle. I probably wouldn't give him thirty
five a year right now, And if I'm being honest,
that's a little bit too steep. But one more, this
is Ed O'Neil. What's more likely Jamo leads the NFL
and receiving tds or Branch leads the NFL in interceptions
and safety sacks. I think the most likely of the

(01:14:37):
three is Branch leads the NFL in interceptions. Me personally,
I think asking JMO to lead the NFL and receiving
touchdowns is a little aggressive. And when it comes to
safety sacks, that's that's more Kyle Hamilton's really that's more
his game. But Branch lead the NFL and interceptions. Hey
Spending called Kirby last year, Ed O'Neill, shoot your shot

(01:14:58):
right now. I'm not quite ready to go, but I
go ahead and shoot your shot, not saying it's not
a crazy opinion.

Speaker 5 (01:15:03):
And before we get to the next seving and say
what up Dot To some friends, it is June nineteenth,
So I just wanted to be able to just read
this off with some of the people and it's meaning,
it's historical context.

Speaker 4 (01:15:12):
I know we talked about, you know, even with think
of the mile.

Speaker 5 (01:15:15):
Here it's celebrated, and I got some friends that are
in support of June nineteenth, not of this race, but
they're saying, you know what, we want to help get
it to the same celebrated level. Shout out to Madison
Heights two, who does a really, really good Juneteenth festival.
I've been involved with it for a few years, but
just to pay is some attention to it. It is

(01:15:35):
a holiday celebrated on June nineteenth to commemorate the emancipation
of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first
celebrated in Texas. We're on that date in eighteen sixty five.
In the aftermath of the Civil War, enslaved people were
declared free under the terms of the eighteen sixty two
Emancipation Proclamation. And even though I don't believe things are perfect,

(01:15:55):
I don't believe that they ever will be. Across a
gamut of things, I am grateful that this country continues
to take steps in the right directions, and that the
people that I work with, the people that my walker
wife I've come to meet, come to know, come to
have successes with, come to have some failures with, they've
always joined in support of those efforts. They've always joined

(01:16:17):
in making sure that at least for my neck of
the woods, for my family, for my children, and what
I see them do for other people, that we feel like.

Speaker 4 (01:16:25):
We belong just as much as they do too.

Speaker 5 (01:16:28):
And so I'm hoping that there are other people out
there who can continue to get hip to teenth June
nineteenth eighteen sixty five and continue to join hand in
hand with each other as we support you all and
you got to support us and have it really, really,
really be about what JIHANF Lord is saying, Usa, Usa, Usa,
Jay Gibb shout out to freedom. So just wanted to

(01:16:49):
be able to at least take a little bit of
time to be able to pay some attention to Juneteenth.

Speaker 4 (01:16:55):
Thank you for that. Jb'smove for cooking up.

Speaker 6 (01:16:57):
Man Hey, absolutely well well said. And when we come
back three one three five five two six three two two,

successes and great growth.

Speaker 4 (01:23:31):
Right now, shout out to you.

Speaker 5 (01:23:32):
Travis, I know about look two and a half two
years ago, about years for you and our boots on
the ground, and now we got a there's a social
team here that's thriving.

Speaker 4 (01:23:43):
Man. So shout out to you, out to Justin and
the rest of social team.

Speaker 5 (01:23:46):
Shout out to contributions to Chase makes with the clipping
and such, even in turn Ryan and others out there.
I know easy, but I want to be able to
make sure that we pay a little bit of a
shine to you, an attention to you, Travis.

Speaker 4 (01:23:56):
For what you do. And you're also a ball noer.

Speaker 5 (01:23:59):
I know you coach football as well as you've played it.

Speaker 4 (01:24:02):
Yes, sir, hey, So the topic is Jamison Williams. That's
somebody who I know.

Speaker 5 (01:24:07):
Jamo as much as Robley Green is one of final
SAMs God's sons.

Speaker 4 (01:24:11):
You and JB. Smooth probably shared jise relates to that
being your guys one hundred percent.

Speaker 5 (01:24:15):
What are you talking about is it relates to Jamo
that next level worth the money and all that you'll
talk about Jamo.

Speaker 16 (01:24:21):
I think Jamison Williams is one hundred percent going to
earn whatever type of extension he wants, make it thirty
five million, thirty million, twenty five million.

Speaker 4 (01:24:29):
So you're going up into the Strataspiere.

Speaker 16 (01:24:31):
For one hundred percent, one hundred percent. I think he's
a game changer. I think he brings the best out
of amen Ra. I think he brings the best out
of golf. I think he brings the best out of
any offense that he's going to be And I think
he's just like Alan Robinson talked about the other day,
he's just a big play. Every time he touches the ball,
he averages about seventeen yards per catch. It's just ridiculous.
He just takes the top of a defense. He gives
them another dimension that they don't have.

Speaker 4 (01:24:52):
Yeah, that's no.

Speaker 6 (01:24:54):
Going ahead, but we in terms of players who had
a high volume of receiving yards, Jameison Williams did lead
the NFL yards per catch last year, which one of
the reasons he was drafted here to do things like that.
And last year he absolutely delivered.

Speaker 5 (01:25:08):
And I wonder, because I know a lot of us
are a Kumbayan lockstep, is there I just I don't
even see a reason, like sometimes you ask just to
just to be thorough. Is there a reason why you
wouldn't go out there and cash out on a guy
like with Jamison Williams, And I can't find it.

Speaker 4 (01:25:22):
The noise he's turned down, the stuff that.

Speaker 5 (01:25:25):
People thought would would follow him through his career has
turned down. The organization has been consistent that he is
an individual who is effectively maturing on the fly while
going through some injury stuff as well. And we've seen
this guy turn down the noise, lock himself in whatever
offseason room with Jared Goff, and that chemistry was on display.

(01:25:45):
Everything that you talked about what he did last year
wasn't like he was just out there like no.

Speaker 4 (01:25:49):
They had to work on not just getting.

Speaker 5 (01:25:50):
Better individually, but getting better as a team, getting better
as it relates to who's your leaders, getting better as
relates to I love the fact they brought in Teddy Bridgewater.
They've realized that's something that works for Jamison Williams. And
so as I continue to go through this, the reasons
why I would say maybe he's not worth the investment
early on. He's gone out there and he's just putting
excess through all of those things, from the maturity standpoint,

(01:26:12):
to the skill set standpoint to the does he does
he have the hands?

Speaker 4 (01:26:15):
Can he catch down field?

Speaker 5 (01:26:17):
Remember what some of the people were saying about early on,
because he did have some some some faux paul. But
now you're looking at him and it's like Jamison Williams
looks like more than a complete receiver.

Speaker 4 (01:26:27):
Drumps.

Speaker 16 (01:26:27):
Yeah, And I was gonna say, you talk about these
last two off seasons, who Dan Campbell and everyone in
that locker room is talking about. Who's taking the biggest
steps these last two off seasons is Jameson Williams. He's
working the hardest, He's taking the biggest strides. I mean,
I don't know how you don't pay that guy.

Speaker 4 (01:26:41):
Man, look into the strategy.

Speaker 16 (01:26:43):
You're going up into the I think he's the best
receiver on the roster talent wise. It hasn't been proven
in the stats, but it will be this year.

Speaker 6 (01:26:51):
I think Yeah, talent wise, no question, talent wise, that's
one hundred percent fair. Like I said, I still I
still need to see I still got Amen Ra as
the O wide receiver one of this team, but who
knows that could change. And just for some context of
money wise, because I said, if somehow the Lions were

(01:27:12):
able to get a deal for twenty five million a year,
me as the JMO hater, would be doing a backflip
thirty five. Though I'm not giving him thirty five.

Speaker 5 (01:27:21):
The last where is thirty to thirty five, putting them
in the as it relates to otherwise receivers.

Speaker 6 (01:27:25):
All right, So thirty five million a year is that's
justin Jefferson, buddy. That's more than Cede Lamb. That's more
than aj Brown, That's more than Amen Ra, that's more
than Tyreek Hill. That's the only person who has a
higher AAV is Jamar Chase. I'm not giving him thirty
five right now, but I don't think it would take
thirty five million right now. I really don't not right now.

(01:27:46):
If you wait, if if Jamison Williams has that season,
like maybe a prime Tyreek Hill season this year, then
he probably will get something like that, Which is why
I'm continue to come around more and more. You know,
if the Lions are just gonna try to pay everybody
make Jamo like a valuable asset, make him cheaper than

(01:28:10):
and let him play above his market value.

Speaker 4 (01:28:13):
You know, and I'm seeing I see there too.

Speaker 5 (01:28:16):
I'm salty, he said, I'm pretty sure they lost the
receivers coach to him. I miss Antoine randolel who I know.
He had a really good connection with Jamison Williams. We
saw some of the sideline stuff there. But this is
where when you're talking about Jamo, if he's gonna be
worth that bread, this is the point in time where
now the next step in the maturity, the next step
as it relates to growing up as a football player,
is him stepping into the individual responsibilities. And part of

(01:28:39):
that is, yes, you want to have a good camp
around you. I believe that Brad Holmes has that, But
I don't think that he's in a position where he
needs Antoine to kind of handhold him the way that
maybe some people thought that he was before. I believe
James and Williams is stepping into the position now where
he's his own guy, he's his own star, he's his

(01:28:59):
own player, He's he has to be able to be
a person who can effectively walk without.

Speaker 4 (01:29:04):
The hand being held.

Speaker 5 (01:29:05):
Now, so though I would probably feel even more comfortable
with Antoine Randa L.

Speaker 2 (01:29:11):
Here.

Speaker 5 (01:29:12):
You still have to believe in who jameis Williams is
if you believe in his talent and you believe that
he's worth that money.

Speaker 6 (01:29:17):
At one Randall ll And I'm not disregarding what he did. Obviously,
he was valuable. He's a positional coach, and he chose
to go the route of Ben Johnson, so fam but
I'm not saying he wasn't valuable. But that's kind of
what what it is like if we're talking about coordinators.
I'm obviously a little concerned with like Ben Johnson and

(01:29:38):
Aaron Glenn leaving, but Antoine Randall L that's not really
at the top of a mind. Appreciate him for what
he did, But if you want to go with Ben Johnson,
go with Ben Johnson and Travis This is very very interesting.
You know who is the fourth highest paid receiver in
the NFL in terms of a contract aav who mister

(01:30:01):
DK Metcalf. Oh boy, Travis. And I'm not gonna boy,
I'm not gonna like make you guys pull it up
or anything. But you had yourself a pretty legendary tweet.
Oh yeah, So imagine a world where and again this
is hypothetical, but it's been brought up in the chat,
and I don't think this is unreasonable. Imagine a world
where Jmo makes twenty five million a year AAV and

(01:30:23):
d Calf dcalf DK makes thirty three million a year.

Speaker 5 (01:30:29):
I'm seeing a chat comfortable with thirty to thirty two
and a half or jail.

Speaker 6 (01:30:32):
I mean sounds like Travis is as well. But what
if Jamison Wims is able to be gotten on a
value like that where DK metcalf is probably a little overpaid.
That kind of sounds like you're a dream scenario a Travis.

Speaker 16 (01:30:43):
One hundred percent. And like I said, I think I
just put in the chat. I think t Higgins is
contract that he just got. It's gonna be like the
closest like benchmark that we get to what idea we
have for what contract he's gonna get. Taiggains just got
twenty eight point seventy five annually. So I think if
j puts up about twelve hundred, I think it's gonna
get around twenty nine to thirty probably.

Speaker 6 (01:31:04):
You know what, that's a good pull because we all
know I think we all pretty much recognized Higgins right now. Actually, well,
that's the thing you would too.

Speaker 4 (01:31:12):
We would do that right now.

Speaker 16 (01:31:13):
I would give him that money right now.

Speaker 5 (01:31:14):
You have the baseline right now, and if he if
he blows up, you have just ensured yourself.

Speaker 6 (01:31:19):
Yes, I think we all pretty much recognize as of
right now it could turn into JMO this year. T
Higgins is probably the best wide receiver to in the NFL.
And he makes yeah, twenty eight point seven, like twenty
eight million seven or fifty thousand a year. That's I'd
be okay with that. I would too, And I think
that there's a chance. I think Jamison Williams and I

(01:31:42):
love T Higgins. I respect what he's done for the Bengals.
Jamison Williams could end up having a better career. I
think he's got more upside as a potential.

Speaker 4 (01:31:53):
Just start started too, man.

Speaker 5 (01:31:55):
Yeah, Jessicins and I see a couple of people in
a channel and get them in vall child McLain. If
Jamo has another one thousand yard season this year, it
will cost them more. Do it now, it would only
cost twenty six to twenty eight million another thousand yard season.

Speaker 4 (01:32:08):
It's gonna cost you thirty to thirty five million a year.

Speaker 5 (01:32:12):
I feel that man Cardier get jmil Coney Island a
black card and twenty million dollars and get the deal done.

Speaker 4 (01:32:18):
Might be twenty little more than twenty twenty million.

Speaker 5 (01:32:21):
Let's just talk about that's just the signing bonus Man
does Restallion fourteen. I'm not giving Jamo more than either
I'm Ron Saying Brown or AJ Brown.

Speaker 7 (01:32:29):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (01:32:29):
I pay him more than Devonte Smith. As I see
Jmo being the two point zero.

Speaker 6 (01:32:34):
That is a very good comment. I agree one hundred percent.
That's a really good That's why I my threshold because
I'm a Ron makes about thirty million, and I think
AJ makes thirty two million, So I great, great comment.
But yeah, do I think he could James projects to
be better than Devonte Smith?

Speaker 4 (01:32:51):
Ideeah, he said he's given Jamo doesert Stelling fourteen. He
puts it in there.

Speaker 5 (01:32:55):
Davonte got three year seventy five million, so he will
give Jamo twenty eight to thirty million a year.

Speaker 6 (01:32:59):
Three year seventy five million. Yeah, I mean imagine if
Jamo gets like three years eighty four.

Speaker 5 (01:33:08):
I'm salty believes Jamo will give us a discount because
We took him while he was hurt, gave him an
extra year, and we deal with all his beat on
his ball gambling.

Speaker 6 (01:33:17):
These players like toughness.

Speaker 4 (01:33:19):
I'm salty, Come on, are you?

Speaker 5 (01:33:23):
That's the it started off where I thought okay, and
then where it tailed off too.

Speaker 4 (01:33:27):
I'm salty. I'm a little disappointed, but you look disappointed
to travel.

Speaker 16 (01:33:30):
I just I think we need to, Like, some of
these fans out here need to get it out of
their head that we're getting discounts like that's not happening.
These players and these agents need their need their bag.
They're not giving out discounts just for.

Speaker 6 (01:33:41):
Fun and and all.

Speaker 4 (01:33:42):
That's the noise about Jamo. It just it hasn't been noise.

Speaker 5 (01:33:45):
He went through the season and the only noise was
the fact that the guy balled out and put up
a thousand yards he had and made flannel bio jeron.

Speaker 16 (01:33:52):
He did think some of this fan base is gonna
make him not want to come back, maybe on a
discount or at all.

Speaker 4 (01:33:58):
I mean Channel sevens. I'll be the only reason why
it was any noise.

Speaker 6 (01:34:01):
I understand, I understand, I get it. The only thing
I will say, because I've been putting I've been giving
the Krispy kareem to Jmo more than I think, and
if you thought I ever would, there was. I will
never apologize for having some doubts his first couple of years,
but I will also say that where I had to

(01:34:23):
eat a little bit of crow and buy his jersey,
and I was happy to do it. By the way,
he did everything that I asked him to do last year,
and I think he's got more in him this year.
So take that for what you will. I'm sure I'll
never shed the label to some, but I'm doing my
part too because I don't die on stupid hills. I

(01:34:43):
don't die on dumb hills.

Speaker 2 (01:34:44):
I just don't.

Speaker 5 (01:34:45):
Steve O Baby's using he's using something against you, and
Riley Green proved you guys wrong.

Speaker 4 (01:34:50):
Where was your guys jersey right?

Speaker 6 (01:34:54):
Well, I mean I will might be a couple on
that I had a mentally weak woman.

Speaker 4 (01:35:02):
I'm salt.

Speaker 5 (01:35:03):
He does believe pay Jamo before he snaps Yeah, agree
with you on JB Smooth. This is your guys, Jamo
everything that you believe he can be this year. I
even believe I'm a Ross Saint Brown, not just because
of what Jamo will be, But because of who I'm
a Ross Saint brown is, I do believe that this
wide receiver tandem is gonna start to step into the

(01:35:25):
same conversations that we saw running backs and our safety
tandems do as the best tandems in all of the NFL.
And I do believe that starts with what Jamison Williams
does this year exactly.

Speaker 7 (01:35:36):
It starts with my god son, and I believe everything
you guys say. If you're going to pay him, pay
him early, because if you pay him in the middle
of the season, that that price and that number could
go way up depending on what he does at that point.
But you also need to keep in mind as well too,
as some other options that you need to look out
for when looking to spend this money. I do like
the three year, seventy five million dollar deal as well too,

(01:35:58):
but also keep in mind those other deals as well,
like are you bringing back Zadarius Smith or is that
contract stuff in the works as well too? Is there
some other edge rusher you're looking out for or are
the rumors true that I've seen shout out I can't
remember who said it in the chat as well too.
Of the Lions keeping an eye on Kaevon Thibodau and
the Giant situation because this season for them is going

(01:36:19):
to be very very rough and they could be looking
to still off a couple pieces. So if Kavon Thibodau
is an option, like would you would be willing to
jump on that as well too. But I do agree
pay Jamo and pay him early, pay my god Solam early.

Speaker 6 (01:36:34):
And that's yeah, that's that's really we're talking about potentially
giving Jamo a discount. And I'm not saying he will
not take what I'm saying the uh. I do think
the more on potential contract would be significantly less than
the oh ship. He was all pro and now we

(01:36:55):
either have to make him give him Jefferson money or
lose him contract.

Speaker 4 (01:36:59):
But you know what I am. I see Cardier here,
he says, Jamo, take that clee hundred mil. It looks nice.
Get a little more money guaranteed in there. I do wonder,
you know when.

Speaker 5 (01:37:06):
You talk about and I saw someone else here and
who says Cardier, let.

Speaker 4 (01:37:10):
The cab got work? You know what you do? They
have a lot of ways that they can make this
thing work.

Speaker 5 (01:37:15):
And I do believe guaranteed money up front makes this
thing work a lot better for Jamo and Brad and
the Alliance than not.

Speaker 6 (01:37:22):
And that's what's really inspired a lot of this from
me is that when you look at the Kirby Joseph deal,
I mean I put it up earlier, the cap hits
are minuscule compared to what you thought that they would be.
When you just look at his AAV.

Speaker 4 (01:37:36):
Like whatever, it's like awesome.

Speaker 6 (01:37:39):
There are things that you can do to manipulate and
the best gms do it. Like I said, I don't
know why every contract doesn't. There's there's got to be
something that I'm missing, But I'm like, man, they got I.

Speaker 5 (01:37:50):
Think guaranteed money. I think incentives. You do both of
those to head yourself. You get some of the money
out the way early so Jamo feels comfortable moving forward,
and then you put the incentives in front of him
so that he continues to go out there and prove
that he's on the upward trend that we all believe
he is.

Speaker 6 (01:38:07):
Hey, it's Travis. Is that you getting kind of like,
you know, chirpy in the chat? Or is it a
Jamie yet responding to a John Parker shout out, you
you already did it. Jamo is definitely not the best
number two receiver in the NFL. Higgins, DeVante Smith and
whoever you deem your second best, between Pooka and Deavonte
are all better than Jamo stopped being slappies and then wow, hey,

(01:38:28):
to Travis's credit, John, we said t was better. And
I think right now, Tie Higgins talking.

Speaker 5 (01:38:34):
About what we believe Jamo is going to step into,
not about what we believe he is right now. What
he proved right now is why you hear the noise
from a guy like Jeff Risdon to bring it back home,
who's close to the Lion situation when you're long term
beat writers, credential be writers and reporters of the Alliance
saying he's confident, very confident that James going to get
a deal done sooner rather than later.

Speaker 16 (01:38:56):
Travis, I was just I'm just wondering how this guy
thinks that Devonte Smith is better than Jamison Williams. It's
just really mind boggling to me. I didn't even hear
he said. I'm just still shocked on that.

Speaker 6 (01:39:06):
I mean, I think he's looking at I guess more
consistent production, but in terms of talent. I would say
Jamison Wilson, Yeah, obviously, Puka and Devonte Smith as kind
of both being wide receiver ones. I understand. I understand
that that's fine.

Speaker 4 (01:39:22):
Nil.

Speaker 5 (01:39:22):
Would you all trust Jamal to be wide receiver one.
I'm gonna extend this for three games if we lost, I'm.

Speaker 17 (01:39:29):
Roan, Yeah, yeah, I would, he said for one game
if we lost, I wrong for the day of absolutely
freaking course, I would trust it if it was for
even for the fourth quarter of the season.

Speaker 4 (01:39:42):
And when you're looking out, this team does things.

Speaker 5 (01:39:44):
Obviously, Sam Laporta still had a really good season, but
he was probably the mouth that got fed a little
less so that everybody else can eat just a little
bit more. Think about what they could do even if
they had to. All right, Sam, Sammy, we need you
for today. Sure you see what I'm saying. Like this
team yallly.

Speaker 4 (01:39:59):
Freaking brow homes man.

Speaker 6 (01:40:00):
Still he's still at worst a top five tight end.
And and if Jamo is being wide receiver one for
you said three games, it's not like it's him and
a bunch of bums around him. You still got Tim Patrick,
who I think could be a wide receiver two for
a few games and the offense as a whole with
the running backs, and bro to tell you to read

(01:40:22):
that one absolutely because it really it hammers home gives
giving a couple extra details to what we were talking
about earlier. Kirby Joseph's cap hit in twenty twenty five
is thirty seventh in the NFL twenty fourth and twenty
twenty six, twelfth and twenty twenty seven, and third in
twenty twenty eight. And I think he's talking about amongst safeties.
By the way, in twenty twenty eight he's third with

(01:40:42):
a thirteen million dollar cap pit. You know who's first,
cam Bynum on the Colts with a nineteen and a
half million dollars cap pit. And those those two are
not the same. Kirby Joseph and cam Bynam are not
the same.

Speaker 4 (01:40:54):
I remember to talk last year.

Speaker 6 (01:40:57):
Okay, he's all right, he's fine, he's a very fine
local safety.

Speaker 3 (01:41:04):
Safety.

Speaker 5 (01:41:07):
I tried to temper my hate because extra extra haiti lately,
and I was like, you know, I don't know, I'm
cool and I hate it, right, But some of these
other people, especially when to start getting talking, it's like
your mouth.

Speaker 6 (01:41:20):
All pros are not there or coming for cam bide them.
I'll just say that, and I'm very comfortable in that
he will always be very, very solid.

Speaker 4 (01:41:28):
He's solid.

Speaker 6 (01:41:29):
Kirby was special last year. Yes, remember what jamiir gives
it to cam Biden's ankles. Yes, we do.

Speaker 4 (01:41:36):
Yeah, have fun, I definitely remember it. Man. These players, though,
they just keep talking and talking.

Speaker 5 (01:41:43):
I think I'm gonna make another real one day. I'm
gonna bring back the old.

Speaker 4 (01:41:46):
One where it was the Bears and all the dudes.

Speaker 5 (01:41:48):
Crying about Angeloni, and then we got the ones this
past season where they were crying about Kirby, Josel some more.
I'm gonna start making that real because it's crazy to
see players who are not penalized, players who are not
flagged or fined, players who are going out there and
making teams on some of the best defenses out there
and the best team out there.

Speaker 4 (01:42:07):
You got the rest of the league crying.

Speaker 5 (01:42:08):
I absolutely love it, man, I love it. But we
gotta get to everybody's favorite segment. That is what's trending
with JB Smooth What friends? We gotta say what up?

Speaker 2 (01:42:16):

Speaker 4 (01:42:16):

Speaker 7 (01:48:48):
Purse made out of nothing but chocolate.

Speaker 6 (01:48:50):
By the way, I feel like I'll be so wrong.

Speaker 4 (01:48:57):
At least four hundred dollars.

Speaker 7 (01:49:01):
Oh, you're actually really close. Wow, four hundred and fifteen dollars.

Speaker 4 (01:49:05):
That's insane.

Speaker 7 (01:49:06):
Yes, four hundred and fifteen dollars for this chocolate.

Speaker 6 (01:49:09):
Man, it's just empty calories too.

Speaker 5 (01:49:11):
That's absolutely insane, bro, Like, I don't even understand like
people buy this, I mean they may.

Speaker 4 (01:49:19):
It's got to be people who buy it.

Speaker 7 (01:49:20):
Something. Someone has to buy it.

Speaker 4 (01:49:22):
Goodness, man, it's almost worth more than my life. One
hundred dollars is crazy.

Speaker 7 (01:49:28):
Four hundred and fifteen dollars form one of these. They
are exclusive, So yeah, it's gonna suck that.

Speaker 4 (01:49:32):
Does it give you a buzz at least?

Speaker 7 (01:49:33):
No, it's just chocolate, like it's just no, it's just
like Hershey' chocolate that they put.

Speaker 4 (01:49:39):
Four hundred dollars.

Speaker 7 (01:49:40):
Yeah, okay, I doubt anyone will ever eat one of
these things, especially at four hundred hours. Like I'm not
that bus. Yeah exactly, I'm not doing that at all.
Who I think you would enjoy this one as well too,
because the the KD rumors that are going on right now,
seeing that he might get traded to uh certain teams
No summer taking the heat start was saying the rockets

(01:50:02):
the spurs as well too.

Speaker 4 (01:50:03):
Well.

Speaker 7 (01:50:04):
The Walmart down in Houston has taken upon themselves to
start putting Jalen Green's jersey on sale.

Speaker 4 (01:50:11):
Wait what after they heard like my man.

Speaker 7 (01:50:14):
Might be on After the rumors popped up that he
might be leaves achievements. They started putting his jerseys on
sale for the low low price of forty four ninety eight.

Speaker 5 (01:50:26):
See, you know what when this happened to Hobby about
a year and a half a government we posted it
to our socials, that was the beginning of transcendence.

Speaker 4 (01:50:34):
Man. So maybe the Pistons get out in front of this.

Speaker 5 (01:50:36):
They go in, they get k Cunningham's little bro bro
and you know what, bring them off the bench and
go and do some great things.

Speaker 6 (01:50:44):
Break him off the bed, remember when I break You
know what I really liked about Jalen Green and seven
playoff games. Out of seven playoff games in the first round,
Jalen Green had single digits and four of them wow.
And then and two others he had eleven and twelve.
It's only good.

Speaker 5 (01:51:01):
Supposed better scorer Thanky cunning him as Rockets fans told me.

Speaker 6 (01:51:04):
His only good playoff game was Game two. He's I think,
and I get it. The Rockets were good and Jalen
Green did some nice things, but every time I I
still think he kind of sucks. I do like, I'm
not even willing to say that he's a good player.

Speaker 5 (01:51:21):
Oh no, no, I'm setting the temple right now. We're buying
on this. This is break bread. I'm still no because
people were telling us that this guy had a serious
claim to be the number one pick, and it's like, no, Kate,
is that deal. I remember even everyone's reactions after Summer
League because Jalen Green had a couple like highlight plays
and such, and.

Speaker 4 (01:51:41):
People were going crazy said we made them.

Speaker 5 (01:51:43):
Okay, slow, okay, this k that nah, bro, And you
look at where the trajectory of these two players are
right now. You never wish bad on anybody, but Cad
has been owning Jalen Green for a very very very
long time. And you know what, I forty four dollars
that one mark more power to Jail Green.

Speaker 7 (01:52:04):
Shout out to Jalen Green. Uh, it sucks, but if
it happens a you can get a cheap jersey right
there at Walmart for you as well, too.

Speaker 4 (01:52:13):
Is still too high for nice?

Speaker 6 (01:52:18):
I mean he's not good, he's not.

Speaker 7 (01:52:22):
That that is rough out here. That is rough.

Speaker 4 (01:52:25):
Uh as soon as gonna be Jaylen Green.

Speaker 6 (01:52:29):
No, I actually think kid could actually like unlock Jayalen
Green in a way.

Speaker 5 (01:52:33):
Though, I think he could bring me off the bench
be the sixth man of the year.

Speaker 6 (01:52:39):
He could do that.

Speaker 4 (01:52:41):
Shoulders shooters gonna do that. I'm not giving jail Green nothing.

Speaker 7 (01:52:47):
Off the bench ridiculous, but uh, guys, it is once
again graduating season. Shout out to everyone graduating as well too.
But once again I think it's time that some of
you just need to go back to class. That is, uh, well,
how is this horror?

Speaker 4 (01:53:07):
What are you doing if this is happening in your home? Yeah,
you're in your home class teaching.

Speaker 7 (01:53:12):
Wood shopping this kid is doing.

Speaker 3 (01:53:14):
I mean, is this an old video travising school?

Speaker 6 (01:53:19):
I was gonna say, are you in danger of hurting yourself?

Speaker 4 (01:53:22):
Who ought to be the teacher who's recording this too?

Speaker 7 (01:53:25):
It probably is?

Speaker 6 (01:53:26):
That's yeah. I mean, maybe he's got senior itis or something.
But that looks like if your hands slip, you're like.

Speaker 5 (01:53:32):
Ft, Like what is why some things that you just
sit back and like, am I missing something here?

Speaker 4 (01:53:40):
I know I don't just.

Speaker 5 (01:53:41):
Go around chopping like lumber and wood and such, but
am I missing something here?

Speaker 6 (01:53:46):
I feel the same way, like there's no purpose to that.
Like even in super Bad drilling holes makes more sense
than that. What are you doing?

Speaker 7 (01:53:55):
Shout super bad. Idally, I will end what's training with this.
I don't know if you guys know this, but being
a ball boy can be dangerous. And uh r I
p to this ball boy, al r p boy.

Speaker 4 (01:54:13):
No, no, my man hit the Prince fielder.

Speaker 7 (01:54:17):
You almost at it?

Speaker 4 (01:54:18):
Oh, get it? Get out?

Speaker 3 (01:54:24):
What's that anime run? It looked like he was doing
that anime run.

Speaker 5 (01:54:29):
My man was sony and then his coins fell. Shout
out to the Mets broadcast.

Speaker 3 (01:54:35):
He was running like sonic, but he looks like the
egg Man. What's his name?

Speaker 4 (01:54:41):
His name mister egg or something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:54:46):
Doctor.

Speaker 3 (01:54:49):
Oh he's not an egg.

Speaker 2 (01:54:52):
He's not an.

Speaker 10 (01:54:55):
I didn't know he's man though, but I'm looking at
this though we talked about two better friends. Shout out
to the bets for just for putting this dog, because
up the parents are probably like, oh no, and then
Matt just.

Speaker 7 (01:55:11):
Put this kid on the glass. That's just terrible. That's terrible.
What that said for what's trending you guys? What's happening
to mail bag while we got some time?

Speaker 5 (01:55:18):
Yeah, shot, I said, doctor Eggman top of the gable
and the rudeo, hey you know what man?

Speaker 4 (01:55:23):
Shout out to the ball boys.

Speaker 5 (01:55:24):
Stay out there putting their lives on the line for
the sports that we love.

Speaker 4 (01:55:27):
Man, So shout out to that ball Hopefully he's okay.

Speaker 5 (01:55:30):
Uh, Courty said, at least he didn't tear an a
cl The kid is sturdy. To me, I just get
I get the uh, I get the the vibes of
Princefielder that third day.

Speaker 6 (01:55:40):
Oh pretty goodness. Yeah, that was that was something.

Speaker 4 (01:55:43):
That any other friends we got to say what up though?
To JB Smooth?

Speaker 5 (01:55:46):
Nope, nope, Hey, shout out to you man with what's trending.
That's what's trending for today. Oh yeah, that's what JB smooth.
Chat family, you get the opportunity to. If you haven't
gotten the opportunity to, then going ahead and smashed that
like button for I got JB Smooth and you said
no more to say what up?

Speaker 4 (01:56:02):
Mail bag?

Speaker 6 (01:56:02):
Yeah, we got time for mail bag.

Speaker 5 (01:56:04):
Let's rot then chat fam. If you got any questions,
put them into the chat right now. And I see
Charles McClain I with a mail bag. Holton and Carpenter's
name coming up a lot in trade talks with tigers.

Speaker 4 (01:56:15):
Do they trade one both or neither?

Speaker 5 (01:56:16):
And me personally when you hear Scott Harre say that
they are going to be aggressive at the trade deadline.

Speaker 4 (01:56:23):
I don't know, man, that's an interesting thing. Then you
mix it with the rumors.

Speaker 6 (01:56:28):
I'd probably say neither. I think the Tigers are gonna
be more willing to sell prospects. Maybe not the best
of the best, but but if you have to attach
one of them, I mean Tyler Holton, he's been a
little bit down, but at the end of but like,
I don't know, the Tigers are trying to add a
bullpen arm. Do they really want to subtract one with
the potential that Tyler Holton does have when he's right.

(01:56:50):
I would probably still say neither.

Speaker 5 (01:56:52):
And let me see here, Steve o Baby sam aj
Hinchby selected as one of the All Star managers.

Speaker 6 (01:56:59):
I mean, I think the manager is gonna be Aaron
Boone because the Yankees were in the World Series. But
I think I think Hench'll be on the staff. Why
wouldn't he be?

Speaker 5 (01:57:10):
I say, I'm salty, mail bag. Would y'all consider signing
Henry Ruggs when he's out of jail? I feel like
Gibbs Jmo Ruggs will be the fastest team in NFL history.

Speaker 6 (01:57:19):
I'm gonna do a big old no comment for now.

Speaker 4 (01:57:21):
Yeah smooth, And.

Speaker 7 (01:57:23):
I just said, I don't know if you want to
touch that one. Like I know, he's he served his
time in jail, he's apologized to the family and everything.
But I still don't know if you want to touch
that one.

Speaker 4 (01:57:32):
Here's a good one d n C E n T
mail bag Tiger's representation in the home on Derby and
why will it be Hobby? Nobody's touching that one.

Speaker 6 (01:57:43):
No, it won't be on I think if anybody would
probably be Torque. But why not?

Speaker 5 (01:57:49):
Well, no, do we even want to see any of
our guys in a home on Derby is a more
appropriate question.

Speaker 4 (01:57:54):
I don't even want to mess with tork Swing. I
don't want to mess with his mind.

Speaker 6 (01:57:57):
I don't because I was gonna say why not Riley
Green that I'm like, no, no to me, sounds like
it to me, that sounds like a slump afterwards, waiting
to happen for anybody who does it.

Speaker 5 (01:58:08):
Stephen David thinks torque and I do believe these guys
they have some Torque is definitely uh worthy. But I
just I don't know, man, when you talk about these
expectations the Tigers have this season. I don't even know
if I want to see him in the home run Derby.

Speaker 4 (01:58:20):
Yeah, I still have.

Speaker 5 (01:58:21):
I'm still I'm still haunted by Brandon inje bro I
am you talk about that first half of that season
and then what happened after the home run derby and
the wheels just fell off.

Speaker 4 (01:58:31):
I'm still Scarbrough.

Speaker 6 (01:58:32):
Yeah, so I get it.

Speaker 5 (01:58:34):
Let me see here. There was another one I just saw.
Stephen David mailbag. Do we expect Colts to play third
base today? If he can be average, maybe we don't
need a trade.

Speaker 6 (01:58:47):
I mean, I think he can play it situationally, and
I know Vierling should be back soon. I mean, still
a third base trade target. I still think that's something
that the Tigers should look into it. It's tough because
they don't have what you would call a traditional third baseman,
but it really hasn't mattered too much yet this year.

(01:59:08):
You just hope that it doesn't matter when it really
matters come postseason time.

Speaker 5 (01:59:13):
Big Dan Davis hashtag melbag. Will the Pistons make a
big move this offseason? And if so, what would you
like to see them do? And for me, I want
to see them make a big move. I don't know
exactly what a big move means to other people. To
some people, that's go get Yannis or KD. I don't
believe the Pistons are gonna have an opportunity to do that.
So the next tier for me is, are they gonna

(01:59:33):
go out there and actually make a play on a
guy like a Niles Reed. Are they gonna go out
there and you see the Jake Fishers of the world,
who are starting to echo some of the sentiments we have,
and he's talking about what the Pistons are actually looking
for and how that's leading them to guys like Santaeo Dama.

Speaker 4 (01:59:48):
You know that's your buy low.

Speaker 5 (01:59:51):
Hopefully you get a big, big, big reward out of
his skill set. But I know there's some people who
are concerned about him disappearing in the playoffs. But he's
a young player, a new player to this thing. So
for me, I hope they go out there and they
do something to show up that four spot. But I'll
be honest with you, I would not be surprised if
they largely do something that's considered.

Speaker 4 (02:00:10):
A running it back. What about you from they make
that big move this offseason.

Speaker 6 (02:00:16):
You know what, stay tuned for future episodes. I feel
like that's a topic, but shut up. Shout out of
Big Dan Davis for that. Matthew Krueger's got an interesting one.
Are you in favor of putting a trade package together
with Toronto for Chris Bassett and Boba Schett? I would
love that. The problem is is I think Toronto's going
for it. They're not doing what I asked them to do,
which is tailspin. They're actually right there. If they keep

(02:00:40):
playing the way that they're playing, they're going to find
themselves in the wild card. And they're actually nipping at
the Yankees heels, who are playing like shit right now.

Speaker 5 (02:00:51):
You just to see eighth goodness Grisis. I'm saying, man,
this has been definitely a good show. Top of the
Gable says to the Chat family.

Speaker 4 (02:01:00):
Hit that like button. Phil says, would you trade Hovey,
Green and Torque for Aaron Judge? Ok?

Speaker 2 (02:01:07):
Wow?

Speaker 6 (02:01:07):
The Blue Jays are two games out of first in
the East. Man, the Rays are a game. Man. The Yankees,
they've been slipping so much they're letting teams right back
in at the Red Sox are hot. It's gonna be
a that's gonna the Ale East might actually be a
dog fight.

Speaker 4 (02:01:21):
Wanna be a dogfight?

Speaker 5 (02:01:22):
I know what I don't believe is gonna be a
dogfight add to all, and that's gonna be the Ale Central. Hey,
I expect the Detroit Tigers to continue to be the
team that sets the pace and continues the white in
the gap. There was a time where we were sitting
there looking at the squad like, man, you know, if
they're not careful through the stretch of games, they can
find themselves in a battle in Ale Central. And they
went out there and just slugged away, and then they

(02:01:43):
got into another situation.

Speaker 4 (02:01:44):
Where they face the Guardians.

Speaker 5 (02:01:45):
Lost the series three one wake up after another series
goes by, and somehow the league went from like six
games to nine freaking games.

Speaker 6 (02:01:53):
And it's what happens when you sweep, when you rebound
from a bad series with a sweep.

Speaker 5 (02:01:58):
Shut out Tigers. Man, So I think that's a show
for today. Unless there's any other words from the from
the people. I'm looking at the chat as well. It's
been a good one. I'm hoping that everybody continues to
uh stay safe and that there's nothing big you know
that has come away from somebod these storms.

Speaker 4 (02:02:14):
I was hoping to see a little bit better weather
by now, but we said, we're in Michigan. We're built
for this.

Speaker 5 (02:02:19):
