Speaker 1 (00:20):
Hi, welcome to was My name is Andresie once again,
and I'm just doing this alone this week, just because
giving Nick a little bit of time to rest. He
just got back from Disney with his family, great vacation
that they got to take and he got the privilege
of doing that, so just giving him another week off.

(00:40):
I how are you. I'm doing okay. I guess if
you must know, yesterday was my birthday. I turned thirty seven,
so it's not very surprising. But yeah, I'm doing all right.
If you do hear some show tunes in the background,

(01:01):
it is my sister who just needs to listen to
some happy music right now. So she was just playing
some hair Spray, which especially like the John Travolta performance
in that movie. It's so fun. But I'm just yeah,
I'm here alone this week. That's fine. I did want

(01:22):
to also thank you to my sister because she got
me a Tyler Turnbull print of Bob's Burger's does Nighthawks,
so that's really cool. I'm very happy to have that.
It was a very unexpected gift. I was very happy
to get it, so thank you to my sister for that.

(01:45):
But hey, let's uh, this is a movie and TV
podcast and technically WWE. I'm gonna go over current movies first,
and then we'll go over current TV, which there is
current EV if you're unaware, and then we'll talk some
w W RAW is on right now. I'm not able
to watch at this time. I technically have it on,
but I'm gonna probably pause it as it actually gets

(02:07):
the action so I can listen to it. But okay, hey,
this week in movies, I didn't get a chance to
go see the Phoenician Scheme. I might go see that
later this week if I get a chance. I am
seeing How to Train Dragon on Wednesday night, so that'll
be interesting. And then probably on Thursdays, which my days
off are, I'll watch the animated And I mean not

(02:30):
to compare or anything, but just it's what I'm probably
gonna do, just so you know. But this week in
movies that came out, I did see. Like I said,
I didn't see the Phoenician Scheme, but I did see
Ballerina on Thursday. And it's not typically a movie I
would normally watch because I'm not really a gun driven

(02:50):
kind of guy. I've seen the first John Wick and
that's enough. But I was just kind of bored this
past week, and I was like, all right, let's go
see Ballerina. I'm into that enough. And also, I mean
some movies you definitely want to see on the big screen.
In Ballerina feels like a movie that you should see
on the big screen. I did have a great time

(03:11):
with it. I think it's going doing the rounds. But man,
the grenade fight in this movie is just like one
of the most fun scenes in a while, Like it's
almost like the Boys level kind of violence, which is
really interesting. And then the last scene of this movie,

(03:33):
like the the the last battle in this movie is
really it's like it's what you would want, Like it
feels like a video game at some point. And yeah,
I give Balerina. Yeah, I give it an eight a
four out of ten, four out a five on Letterbox.

(03:53):
I think it's fun. It's a fun movie. Go see it.
I did. I also watched Predator Killer of Killers, which
was awesome. Holy crap, that is just such a great
animated movie that if you liked Pray and you're like,
give me more, this movie satisfies that only just a

(04:17):
little because you're still like give me more. Like this
movie is incredibly satisfying, but like not kidding you want more.
You just feel like, man, there's just like nothing that
they can't do with this. So Predator, Killer of Killers, man,
like I wasn't expecting it. It's an anthology that that's

(04:39):
appropriate anthology because it all culminates into one thing. It's
like Tales of the Dark Side of the movie. And yeah,
it was just such a like, man, I know. Dan
Tracktenberg also directed this as well, which he did pray
and I believe Amber mid Thunder was approached on some

(05:04):
sort of red carpet recently and asked about returning to
the world of Predator, and she said she's down. I mean,
I think they're just waiting on anything from Dan Trackton.
I want to make sure I got his name right,
but yeah, Dan Tracktenburg, Man, it was yeah, Dan Tracktenburg,
And like I didn't know. Michael Bean is a voice

(05:27):
in it, and then Rick Gonzalez is the only other
voice that I do know, and it's I don't know.
It's such a cool, cool animated movie. If you liked
there was a a show on Adult Swim a couple
of years ago, I believe called Primal and this very

(05:48):
much reminds me of Primal, where it's just kind of
really brutal. It has just such a like a great
story that you really like, don't keep your phone down
on this like this, I really wish this kind of
had a theatrical relief. I say that about everything, but
this would be cool just to see on a big screen,
just because it's pretty cool. And yeah, if like a

(06:13):
good comparison of this is probably the show Primal, which
I think I actually got two seasons. You should look
that up. That very interesting. I don't I don't recall,
but I don't believe there is any dialogue in this show.
So it's just it's a very good show if you
like adult animation. And then also I believe on Friday

(06:39):
or Saturday, I saw Dangerous Animals, which stars JII Courtney,
which you'll you'd know, And then I didn't particularly know her.
I found out that she is from Yellowstone but Hasie
Harrison Hazy Harrison. I apologize, I'm not familiar with you,
but she she's apparently very big on Yellowstone. So but

(07:04):
she is the star of this movie Dangerous Animals, And man,
one thing like you're I love a movie with somebody
who just like is in a terrible situation and just
doesn't quit regardless of how terrible it continues to get,
because like you get rays of hope and then it's

(07:24):
immediately drawn away from you. But this character just never
stops fighting. And I loved it. It's it's a like
this movie. I mean, I don't fun fact, I don't
like the ocean. I do not like the ocean. I
respect the ocean, do not ever want to go into it.

(07:46):
I'm not afraid of like like sharks or anything like that.
That's not even the case. It's it's more the like
the the ocean always wins if it decides at once
you it takes you. It's just that large, h It's
it's mainly like open ocean, and like how deep the

(08:07):
the ocean gets. It's just it's just death. And I'm
not like particularly afraid of death or dying. But for
some reason I have such an issue with with the ocean.
I don't I'm not interested. I'm not really that interested
in the ocean at all. But this movie, I mean,
I didn't go see like that one movie One Last

(08:27):
Breath or something with Woody Harrelson and Seemulu earlier. This
year because I didn't. I don't want to. I don't
like the depth of the ocean. It's just too much.
But this didn't bother me so much, Like I understood
what was happening, and it wasn't so much the depth
of the ocean. It was it was animals being animals,

(08:50):
which is fine. I've got zero issue with animals being animals.
But this movie, it's it's very good. Jy Courtney. I
just I a lot of weird stuff is happening in
Australia because Bring Me Back, which I watched last week,
was a lot of fucked up shit happening in Australia

(09:11):
and a lot of bad stuff happening in Australia. And yeah,
just was this written by an Australian? I have to know?
Come on, is Nick Leppard an Australian? I hope he is.
I found an article with him from the OSCARS the

(09:32):
Academy at website, but I am, let's see, you know what.
I don't think he is Australian because I went to
his an interview with him from the the Alumni Associated
Association of New York Academy of Art, and this is
from twenty twenty one, if he was Australian, it would

(09:53):
have come up. So I don't believe Nick Lepard is Australian.
But this movie, it's a lot of fun. I definitely
suggest this one. If I was like, I would suggest Ballerine,
I really would, and I would suggest this Dangerous Animals
is a great movie. Go see you bring her back
as well. Support Australian cinema, I guess. But yeah, and

(10:16):
honestly yeah, all three movies bangers this week. Once again,
still need to see the Phoenician Scheme. Maybe I'll see
it this week. There's still time. But I believe some
big movies are coming up here soon, which I can
get into. If you want what is coming up, I
should probably know this, you know. See. The thing is,

(10:37):
I never actually look at what's coming up. I just
look at the theater each week and I just go.
I just look at what showtimes are. I look at
Mondays for screen or Scream unseenes, and then I look
on Thursdays because they's usually the day I have off.

(10:58):
Sometimes I look at Wednesday nights and then of course
I know what I'm going to do for the weekend.
But how to train your dragons? This week twenty eight
years later is next week, and so is Ilio, which
I do plan on seeing the life of Chuck I
believe is also this week. Possibly there's some other things
like it's all can see for right now, but current TV. Hey,

(11:25):
did you know there's current TV right now? Some animation.
Animation is back definitely for the summer. Bob's Burgers is
back consistently for the last two weeks, which is unheard
of over the last couple of years, which is fine.
I understand things get complicated, and also I believe there
are strikes, so I'm not bothered. I'm just happy to

(11:50):
have them back. The last episode was the kids making
snacks at school to try and make some extra money.
Of course it's not allowed. I don't remember what's happening
with Bob and Linda, but I do remember everything was
with the kids. It's just it was a fun like

(12:10):
I mean, it'd done so many stories, especially involving kids.
But yeah, I mean kids selling stuff at school. I
mean some of us knew people like that. I don't
think I went to school with anybody who's like selling
stuff out of their backpack or anything like that. Maybe
I just wasn't cool enough. Like in high school for
drugs or I definitely wasn't cool enough for that. But
I don't think I knew anybody like selling stuff out

(12:32):
of their backpack even growing up. I don't think I did. So. Yeah,
but it was a fun episode, and they kind of
like made a good point, like they kids always want
to try something that it doesn't have to taste good.
It has to be like spicy, sweet, sour everything, and
they make this like Dorito chip that is everything and

(12:55):
it's not good, but like it's kind of like those
one chip challenges, and I mean eventually they were going
to get to that, right. But it's a good, good,
great show. I still love it. Last week it was
also good with the gym teacher and them going on
a walk and Linda just really wanting to be like
a walking family, just have an activity for the family,

(13:17):
and of course you buy his shoes specifically for it
and they make our feet lead. And then of course
like the little conspiracy with the little girl from Louise's
class where they think that the gym teacher's stealing their sweat,
it's just it was conspiracy theories. How they tackled that

(13:39):
and it didn't have to involve one of the kids.
It just had to be around them, which makes sense.
I mean you'd think something like that would happen with Teddy,
but I think that they're too smart. They're like, let's
not go there with Teddy because people would expect that.
And yeah, Family Guys back as well. I mean, I
actually caught up recently. I had didn't like animation kind

(14:01):
of went like on Network TV, kind of got a
little weird there for a little bit, and I didn't
know what when schedules were. I was talking to my
sister about Family Guy and she was like, you watch
Family I was like, yeah, I mean it's still good.
It's not like great. It's never gonna really hit its
peak like it did like in the early mid to

(14:24):
mid two thousands to late to twenty tens to early
twenty tens. I think they had a really nice sweet
spot there where they were making some really really great stuff.
And that's fine, and they still make good stuff. It's
still very very well thought of out comedy, so caught
up on that. The most recent episode was Meg wanting
to leave the country, leave the planet because she's a

(14:46):
lonely of course she is, and then Lois Lows kind
of attaches herself to a rocket and of course because
her weight is just slightly up higher than they anticipated,
like they make, of course joke about that. Yeah, it's interesting.

(15:08):
I'm happy family guys back as well. I mean, it's
it's still fun. Who knew Rick and Morty was back.
I mean, we got new voices. Apparently for some reason
my DVR and I can't find it on Hulu. I
didn't check to see if it was on HBO Max,
but the first episode of the season apparently came out,
but I can't find it. But I did get the

(15:30):
episode two in episode three, which what were they Episode
two is just Beth and Rick, which I think was
safe because like they're trying to ease us into these
new voices of Rick and Morty because Justin Royland is
no longer with the show because he's problematic. Makes sense. Yeah,

(16:00):
the first episode was Summer of All Fears. I believe
I mentioned it a couple of weeks ago whenever I
I just said I think Rick and Morty premiered, but
then I looked and couldn't find it. Nick couldn't either,
But there was Valka Rick, which it was. It's interesting
it was. It involved like the bug people and uh
and and clone Beth and and Rick and it was

(16:24):
a good episode. We didn't I don't believe we saw
Summer and and uh Chris Parnell and Morty at all,
Jerry and and Morty. Uh. But that's fine. It was
a it was a fun episode. And then episode three,
the Rick Moore and the more and the ugly uh.

(16:46):
Of course it was like another citadel of Rick's don't
recall who cares it was? It was a fun episode.
Oh but I do want to talk about Game Changer,
which I'm sure we'll talk about this next week as well.
I unfortunately I am behind on my dropout stuff. I
have not caught up on Very Important People or The

(17:07):
Parlor Room or some of the other shows that I
do watch. I don't. I know Nick watches Dimension twenty,
so he might want to talk about that next week.
But game Changer this week was I don't recall the
name of the episode, but it got eight drunk girls
and one of them was supposed to be sober and
slowly sabotaging games to earn money. God, that was such

(17:33):
a It's such a great episode. It's like the reveal
at the end because it's Game Changer, is like, it's perfect,
it's a I don't know, it's such a fun episode.
Izzy was like, I had the funniest facial expressions in
the entire episode, and it's worth watching just for her.

(17:57):
She's fantastic. There's this one slowpan which has I believe
gone around the internet the last couple of days. That's
so perfect. But yeah, if you get a chance, if
you're not, if you don't have drop out, you should
maybe like give it like a chance. I believe it's
not like seven bucks a month. Give it a chance.
Watch like some game changer, watch them make some noise,

(18:19):
watch some very important people, and have like see if
you like it, because if you don't, you can always cancel.
It's fine. But it's very funny. A lot of very
funny people are on these shows. I'm sure they have
something you'd like. But yeah, that's I believe all the
current TV that I know of right now. All right,

(18:41):
let's talk about some WWE because Money in the Bank
was this past week in la There was also Triple
A World's Collide, which was fun. I'm not going to
go into that one as much, except for like mister Iguana,
he's cool. I guess people love him. He's over. He
showed up at Money in the Bank. I'm happy that
he's getting some recking nisson because I mean, why wouldn't

(19:02):
you want some people to succeed unless he's a bad guy.
But I don't think he is so hey cool that
mister Iguana is getting some love. I have not watched
Raw yet really, but it's uh man, but I loved it.
But Stephanie recurred, God dang, that girl put in three
matches in two days, and gosh, she's so so good.

(19:26):
But let's talk the women's Money in the Bank ladder match,
because I believe that was first on the card and
that had Rha Ripley, that had Alexa Bliss and man,
she took a nasty bump I believe from Julia and
and Roxan. Man. That was a nasty bump. Good on you, Alexa.

(19:47):
Dang that hurt. And then Naomi, who spoiler ended up winning.
She's she has missed Money of the Bank. I did
call it last week. She was who I wanted to win,
and it's exactly who who did win. It's the perfect
like catapult. Okay, because Naomi's great heel. I love her.
Bianca just returned. It's kind of perfect timing. You can

(20:11):
lead that, like Naomi doesn't need to cash in for
a while, she doesn't need to cash and let tiff
have her fun we can have because I believe she
has a great storyline right now. I don't watch SmackDown
as much. I know Nick watches SmackDown every week. I
definitely watch Raw every week. Nick catches me up having
SmackDown most of the time. But yeah, she doesn't need

(20:34):
to take the strap from from tiffany anytime soon. Hold
it for a while. We can have some battles between
Bianca and and Naomi. Keep Jade away for a little bit,
keep Jede away because I mean, if she's like she
can be ever present. She doesn't need to be present,
she doesn't need to be there. Like we're already thinking

(20:54):
about Jade whenever we think of these three because they
were a tag team. They have like an intertwining storyline.
It's it's great and it can be explosive if they
let it. And yeah, just let Jade stay away for
a little bit, tease her every once in a while,
and then like literally have Naomi and Bianca just have
some bangers, like over the next like two premium live events.

(21:17):
Let them just have bangers and then let Naomi win.
Then you can have a great uh continue, well, you
can let Naomi battle with Tiff for a while because
she'll have taken her title or somebody else who knows.
And yeah, now, like if you can, you can. It's

(21:38):
gonna be hard. But if you can run this for
nine months, this could headline WrestleMania. Bianca versus Naomi versus Jade,
This could headline Night one in WrestleMania. And I would
love it too. I want to win. It's not what
we think will happen. It's what we want to happen,
if I'm quoting cultaholic. But then of course, like Stephanie Vercorr,

(22:02):
Julia and Roxanne Perez, I thought they both all three
of them were great in the match as well, really
great spots. Uh. There was the double move onto the ladders.
I believe, I know Alexa Bliss, I believe did it
to Naomi, and I believe somebody did did did it
to somebody else, But it was a really cool move.

(22:23):
I think the first angle was a little rough, and
then I think we got the microphone and uh the
better angle on the replay. But I was happy. Happy
Alexis Okay. I don't know why she's been away for
a while. I care about Alexa. Love her, She's five
food to Fury, lover her. She's a big fan of her,
except for the fact that she's from Columbus. Go Blue.

(22:47):
Terrible great match, uh literally honestly, yeah, really great match.
And then we got Dominic Mysterio versus Pentagon Pengon Jr. Yeah, yeah,
I believe Pentagon Jr. And that was a great match.

(23:08):
A little short, it's fine, but it got a Triple
A guy onto a WWE card, which is really cool
for him and in Triple A and the future of
WWE with them, just because like if they can give
Triple A some money and they can put on like
some well produced matches and stuff like that, that's all good.
It sucks that it's kind of under a monopoly, but

(23:30):
it's good that they are, I guess helping them with
I guess as little like who knows how much interference
there's going to be in that, But it's good. It
was a good show. Gave all those people some great
platform to be on, Like I know, it was on YouTube,
but that's YouTube is big enough. And then man, the

(23:50):
match of the night, it was lighter of Valkyria versus
Becky Lynch. They were going a little hard at first,
they kind of find a groove, and then I at
the very end they started each other pretty hard again.
It was an interesting match. Hat like accepted the the
outcome as it is because I kind of expected it.

(24:12):
Kind of hated how much Lyra did for Becky there
at the end, with the raising in all corners and
putting this strap on. I wanted her to close on
her so much sooner, wanted her to close lines so
much sooner. I didn't think Lyra needed to take all that.

(24:36):
I didn't I think the clothes line would have made
sense after the first hand raise, because I mean, I
think the problem is I think they want the way
commentary seems to be talking about Becky definitely sounds like
they're treating her as the heel in Lyra as the face.
But I feel like it'd be such a good and

(24:58):
easy switch to make Lyra the face. Lyra the heel
because she like, honestly, she's got a natural at it
right now. Just let her like her her tone and
body language is full heel, but I just feel like
they're just key, like they're trying to preserve her as
a face and it's not working, and I think Becky

(25:19):
is more presenting as a face. Great match. I rewatched it.
It's it's a good match. It's a good a really
good match. They both lay some good wood on each other,
and definitely it was it was a hard hitter match
and I loved it. But I've always been a big
Becky fan ever since. There was this match. I believe

(25:39):
it was against Sasha Banks during an NXT pay per
view a long time ago, and that was when I
was like, like, this is back when like you kind
of had your favorite of the four horse women and
it was kind of like it was a topic of
conversation around wrestling. But Becky, like I saw it early, man,

(25:59):
like she had a match where she lost the title.
She well she didn't lose the title, she was competing
for the title, and I just saw she can tell
such a good story in the ring, and yeah, I'm
not gonna be like, oh, like I knew about Becky,
like everybody knew about Becky, but like she wasn't like

(26:20):
most people's favorite was Bailey or Charlotte or Sasha now
Mercedes mine. A lot of people's favorites were Sasha. She
was probably the biggest favorite. Then like kind of the mainstream,
like the Raw and SmackDown, the Raw fan became more
Charlotte fans. She's great. I can't like, she can't deny

(26:42):
her talent. She's one of the best ever, if not
the best. But and then Bailey was was great. She
stayed down in NXT for a little bit. He kind
of felt bad for a while, but then she kind
of had a great run as NXT champion, and but
everybody had their favorite, and I like Becky kind kind
of was the last one for a while until like

(27:04):
she broke and yeah, so I'm a big Becky fan.
I think she's Yeah, she's just the best storyteller in
the ring on the women's side, she just knows how
to do it in a match. She knows how to
sell a match. So that was a great match. I
just said a lot. And then the men's money in

(27:26):
the bank I mentioned last week. Man, it does suck
that La Night lost three years in a row. That's
so bad that none of them are young people. You
had Andrade, who got hit the nuts, which was bad.
God that looked so and then he got up very
quickly after that and took his planned spot. He was

(27:51):
also very good in the match. I can't like I
Love and Money in the Bank match Solo Socoa one
of the most underrated comedy wrestlers right now. He's he's
doing such like I've seen stuff from him in the
indie scene, and he is such a good comedy wrestler.
Uh like, who's built like a heavy weight. Uh, he's

(28:11):
and he'll be a champion. He will be Uh, just
don't worry. He'll he'll be a champion. So and then
Penta was great. Penta had a really good showing. He'll
eventually like when a meaningful match. Seth Rawlins of course
is in it. He of course won. H who else

(28:33):
was in it? So there was seth Rawlins, there was Penta,
there was Andrade, there was al Grande Americano, there was
Ellen Knight, seth Penta, Grande Andrade, and I can't think

(28:53):
of the sixth member. Uh, incredible match, a lot of
really great spots. Of course, Rollin sheeted to win kind
of expected it. I told you to put your money
on on Ellen nite. It should have been Ellen Nite.
It really should have been. But he doesn't have to

(29:13):
carry that briefcase. So and then man, Probably the one
of the more impactful moments of the night was definitely
our Truth returning. It wasn't I don't believe it was
a work. I believe it was one thousand percent. They

(29:34):
realized that they messed up, and they and he had
all the power. And he's back as Ron Killings, I believe. Now.
If that's not confirmed, I'm not sure, but yeah, good
to have Truth back, Ron Killings. Respect, love you. Good
to have you back. Glad you got that power. Hopefully
you're you've got some extra incentives in that contract legend. Yeah,

(30:01):
probably the most important part of the night, Starry, that's
kind of dragged a little bit there at the end.
I also, what else did I watch? I watched something else. Oh,
I also watched Mister Crockett on Hulu. It's a pretty
good horror movie. I gave it like three and a
half stars on Letterbox. Yeah, if you like, especially during Halloween,

(30:22):
like during October. This is kind of a mix of
Peewee's Playhouse, Mister Rogers, Neighborhood, and Nightmare on Elm Street.
And if you like any three of those and you're like, man,
I wish all three of those were in one thing.
Mister Crockett's Fun Movie, I liked it. I gave Battrena
four stars. I gave mister Crockett three and a half.

(30:44):
I gave Predator four stars. I gave Predator, Killer Killers
four stars, and Dangerous Animals four stars. I'm pretty leaning
like if I like the movie, it's a four, it's
usually four stars. If I just kind of like the movie,
it's usually a seven. If I really really like a movie,
it's nine. And I think it's a fan I think
it's like a banger Banger, it's a ten. I don't

(31:05):
give a lot of ten five stars, and it's not
for any bad reasons, just that's how I feel. Hey,
I appreciate you for listening to this. If you did,

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
