Speaker 1 (00:19):
Welcome Back to the Woods. The podcast exclusively for people
who realize that it's the same old story. Boy finds girl,
boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy
remembers girl. Girl dies in a tragic blimp accident over
the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day. Good Year, No

(00:40):
the worst where your host is always I'm Nick.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
All right, what was that one?

Speaker 1 (00:49):
The Naked Gun from the finals of Police Squad.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Okay, see, like I told you, I watched that one recently.
That's really funny. That's an incredibly funny written line.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
But for some reason was a genius period.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
The Goodyear line is just that's such a perfect tag.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Perfect.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
It's a perfect tag. You can't get one better. And
it's upsetting. That was But for some reason when I
went into it, I was because I didn't watch it
since I was a kid, and I knew it was
a Zucker Brothers movie. And Airplane is such a joke machine,
and Naked Gun the first one at least, is it's

(01:34):
not just joke joke jokes, it's no more of a movie.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Yeah, it's more of a movie. The joke stacking isn't
as ludicrous as Airplane. But I find that Leslie absolutely
just had the role of his lifetime and he is
absolutely perfect as Frank Driven. I watched it two days ago,

(01:59):
just because we'll get into the new Naked Gun later
on in the pod. What's just two days ago? Just
took because it had been a while since I had
watched it. And uh, there's a scene where Dravid had
just gotten fired and he's emptying out his files because

(02:19):
he's being kicked off the force, and he finds this
evidence and he goes, hey, the missing evidence in the
Kellner case. My god, he really was innocent and the
captain he went to the chair two two years ago.
Frank well, and then the scene just cuts and I
could not stop laughing.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
All Right, I'm gonna have to rewatch it. Maybe maybe
I was not paying enough attention to it. Yeah, that's
I mean, it is funny. I didn't say it wasn't funny,
but it's just I didn't remember that.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
And there's there's other moments in that movie that are
just absolutely acid eye because Leslie Nielsen plays the straight
man so well.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
It's incredible, but his lines are.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Stupid hilarious because of his delivery. Yeah, it's just it
is a like anyone going into comedic acting, like that's
a one oh one class on how to do it.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I'm deadpan.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
I'd be in the straight man.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Yeah, yeah, it's it's a really good movie. I need
to rewatch it. But I am excited for the new
one as I've been for a while. Kiva Schaeffer is
the director. I know I like to shout out directors,
but I mean whenever, like the I don't think the
Police don't destroy boys directed their movie. But but whenever

(03:48):
you have like a very specific amount of group like
the Workaholics or mail order Comedy, you have one of
them is a pretty decent sized director now and he
did Happy Go More too. We'll talk about that. And
then the whitest kids, you know, the whitest kids you know,
like also massive director. We'll get into weapons and then

(04:10):
and then Akiva is directing. The Lonely Island has a director. Director.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
There's three guys from Berkeley who have been doing this
for twenty five years.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Yeah. So it's all the cool people that I enjoyed
watching like in my early twenties or or in my
teens are all just like kind of coming up in
different ways now and it's just it's awesome.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Well, it just shows the maturing of the YouTube age.
You know, YouTube wasn't a fag until two thousand and six.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
I remember watching the Rocket Boom video like obsessively.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Digital shorts came out in like two thousand and four,
with like Lazy Sunday being the first like giant viral
thing that went off on YouTube, and like two years
before that, they're putting out digital shorts. In the Lonely
Island is doing basically YouTube content before YouTube.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Same movie Alcoholics, same with Workaholics comedy. They were doing
channel one one on one stuff, Channel one or one
on one. I can't the Dan Harmon stuff. So like, it's.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
It's super interesting to see. I would love to just
pick all of those guys brains and see, you know,
if they ever thought that this was where their careers
were going to go when they started out doing this thing?

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Is I think Kyle did. Kyle's Kyle's just such a
weird enigma that like whenever he finished playing baseball while
smoking like two packs a day when he was thirteen, yes,
and decided, dude, I want to get into writing and directing.
And I think he's like he did what we do

(05:54):
in the Shadows. He's he's been on this path this
entire time. He should like I was always hoping that
he would get an Emmy for that show.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yeah, absolutely, still time. I think they're nominated for some
Emmys in their last season. How are you, my friend?
After our fifteen minute tangent on the Naked Gun and
Leslie Nielsen.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Yeah, I'm good. I we went by pretty quick. I
feel like I watched a ton of movies, a lot
of a lot of rewatches, and a lot of first
time watches, like some first time watches that I hadn't
seen before, like that are kind of older. Well, actually, no,
I did watch Summer Catch because I do love Summer Catch.

(06:38):
It's also it's the perfect summer movie. It's it's a
little problematic. It's a little fat phobic and homophobic at times,
and unfortunately the biggest perpetrator of that is Matthew Lillard.
But you know what, whatever, the center fielders, like I
look at infielders' butts all day, like what do you
expect and how do you expectors? And Ryan Ryan has
a great butt, and that's Freddie Prince Junior. And Matthew

(07:01):
Lillard kind of moves away a little bit, and he's like,
it's not gay, it's just I'm an outfielder. I'm focusing
and I just see guys. And then whenever Breddi Prince Jr.
Comes up and and he's like, Miles says he got
a nice pooper, and then Bredi Prince or just says
thank thank you, Miles, and then walks away. And as

(07:24):
he walks away, Matthew Lillard stares at that at his
ass and just says, oh, you're right.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
It is a good movie. It is a very good movie.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
It's my It's if there wasn't a league of their own.
And in forty two two drastically different baseball.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Physically different baseball movies.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
And sand Law and a little big Baseball movie is
just like one of my favorite genres.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
I love major League. I mean you got to include that.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Come on, I'm not as big of a Major league
go oh my god. I like it.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
I like it every year before opening Day.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
But Summer Catch, I love Summer Catch. But I also
watched I Know what You Did last summer for the
first time. I'd never seen the ninety seven version.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
So you watched the ninety seven version before you saw.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
No, I saw, I saw the new one, oh, the
three day two days before. So actually I got some
promotional stuff for I know you did last summer. They
had some stuff at the AMC. So but yeah, and
then now you See Me too, rewatch that. It's just

(08:33):
a lot of fun. So I'm glad I was on
a Dave Franco. I was in a Dave Franco movie.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
I know. I'm glad you brought that up because we
were my oldest and I were sitting in the theater
for Fantastic four First Steps.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
We're about to get to it.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Now you see me, now you don't, which, thank god
they finally used that.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Well, apparently Franco was pitching now you three me.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Oh, of course he was Dave Franco.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
But we were one of our lords.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
And yes, we were watching the trailer for that and
he goes, is this a sequel? And I said, yeah,
it is. There are there are two movies before that.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Ar doesn't know that Now you See Me and so no.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
So now we're we've watched Now you See Me, the
the first one, and uh, tomorrow night we're gonna watch
the second one.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
So I had watched the first one a couple like
months ago, and I was with intentions of watching the
second one.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
I just never go fun movies.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
There's fun, they're stupid. They make like thank god, we
just have some some magicians and illusionists doing bank heists.
Thank god it was about time.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
It's it's just fun, turn your brain off good times.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
So stupid. I love it. It is, but it's great because
what is what is Lizzie Kaplan doing? What is she doing?

Speaker 1 (09:55):
What did she do? But no, the cast is great. Yeah,
they're having fun with it obviously.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Is Jesse Eisenberg's favorite movie to work on?

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Is it? Really?

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Because like he he is such a empathic kind of guy.
He he takes on like the mood of his character,
and because most of his characters are kind of moody,
and his character on on the Now You See Me's
is a very confident person, and so he feels confident

(10:27):
when he's doing these movies. So there, he's like, I
want to do ten because I feel confident every single
time I do him.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Sure, he's really excited to do The Social Network too.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
He's like they're a favorite. Like Atlas. He just wants
to be Atlas all the time because he gets to
be confident.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
They're fun movies.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Well, it's very fun. And also like Jesse has like
curly hair in the first one and then shaved head
in the second one. You're like, this guy has grange man.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Yeah he does, he does.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Sorry, I don't know where I was going with that,
but I found it.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
That's all that matters. Uh, No, fun movies. We were
rewatching them. Like I said, we rewatched the first one.
It's it's a fun time.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Dave Franco's character has the best name, Jack Wilder. Come on,
it's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
It's no Johnny Utah, but it's it's.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
The perfect it's the perfect magician name. He's he's he's
a card magician too.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Yeah, yeah, no, it's great.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Uh. My favorite part about the first movie, sorry, we're
gonna talk about Now You've See Me just for a second.
My favorite part about the first movie is when he
mimics Mark Ruffalo's voice. Yes, it's so yes, like just
how they replace Like, ok, they just drag like they
clipped that audio file and just dragged it over to

(11:49):
the next video file. That was it. It was Oh,
I love now Now You See Me so much. It's
such a stupid movie. I love him so good. All right, Nick,
we gotta we'll talk about Dave Franco again. Shortly, I'll
get to him. But Nick, what did we both just

(12:10):
see this week? And that's kind of topical.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Yeah, so both of us on the same day at
the same time, we're in theaters and different parts of
the country watching Final Fantasy for Final Fantasy, Jesus Christ,
Fantastic Four, First State, First Steps, Let's try that again,

(12:33):
Fantastic The First Steps. This is the next big Marvel
movie that's been released. It stars Pedro Pascal as read richers.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
A Storm, He Got When is Johnny Storm and Evan
Moss baccarats. It's just such a fun name to say,
what a what a name as Ben Grimm and.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Otherwise known as the Thing.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Genuinely, I think it's a top three Marvel the top
three or five Marvel movie for me for me, and
it's okay if nobody agrees that. So it's aesthetically it
is so perfect. And I loved Johnny Storm story because
I think he does all the heavy lifting in the movie.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
Yes, he is Joseph's Quinn, Joseph Quinn's Johnny Storm human
torch character. I enjoyed this version of the character much
more than what we got from Chris Evans personally, and
that you know, Chris Evans, his character in those two

(13:47):
Fantastic Four movies was very much a hot head pun intended, yes,
like he was cocky, and that was kind of it.
Like this brings about the fact that Johnny Storm's brilliant,
Like he's a scientist that went to space.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Yeah, well he's a pilot. Well no, Ben Grimm's the pilot.
What yeah? Are they both? Just no, because I believe this.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
I believe Susan he's copilot, yes, but he's also a
brilliant science He's a brilliant scientist unto himself, and you
could see this in the movie, how he makes that
Rosetta stone of the language and just his growth is
a character through the movie. So I really did appreciate that.

(14:31):
By far. My MVP of the movie was tied for
two after I thought about it for a while. It's
either Joseph Quinn's Johnny Storm or it's the retro futuristic
vibe that the movie had. Like I thought the set design,
the overall cinematography was perfect. Where I stumble is, you

(14:56):
know when you're talking about whether it's a top three,
top five Marvel movie. I think that. I know it's
a top ten Marvel movie for me, but I think
I was a little bit higher on Iron Man three
than you. I love Chin Black Dialogue. It's just built
into my bones. You know, kiss, kiss bank bang nice guys.

(15:19):
You know all the shamee black movies. Uh, just built
into my bones. So like that, I'm really high on
that one. The original Iron Man. You know, Winter Soldier
is still to this day my favorite Marvel movie.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
I think it's kind of a seven Skins.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
Guardians, Yeah, Guardians one and Guardians three are up there
for me for two very different reasons, dressedically different reasons.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
You know, Endgame was pretty fucking spectacular what they pulled
off with that. Yeah, thor Ragnarok was really good, I thought.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
No, I think Fantastic four forst Steps probably beats out
thor Ragnarok, but it's close.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Oh no, see, I had forgotten about thor Ragnarok. See.
I think that kind of takes it out of my
top five because it might beIN Like I think end
Game is damn it. Can I include No? I guess
I can't. Uh. Endgame is probably number one because it's
just the culmination.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
No, that that's completely a culmination of what ten twelve
years of Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
And then and then Winter Soldier and Winter Soldier and
Guardians and then probably I do love Infinity War as well.
It's forgotten. It's the forgotten son of those two. But
it's actually it's probably a better movie than Endgame. But
I enjoying Game just because that lasts like hour is
so fun fun. And then yeah, you mentioned Ragnarok, and

(16:49):
that's a top tier Marvel movie as well, and I
think I like, I think I like Ragnarok more than
I like First Steps, but I think it's just barely.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Yeah, so there, you know, there's some stiff competition. Obviously.
My only other gripe was that I felt that some
of the performances were a little flat, and that's just
for me. I think they could have done more with
the thing. I feel like adding this character Rachel that
was played by.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Natasha Leon Natasha.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Leone, like there's I am not a comics purist and
this is the way it should be because this is
how it is in the comics, but like there's a
built in love interest for Ben Grimm already that perfectly
plays into the character, and this kind of unknown character
played by Natasha who doesn't really have much screen time,
didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. And

(17:43):
this pains me to say this the more I thought
about it, but I felt that Pedro Pascal's read Richards
was a little flat for me. He was the least
interesting character of the main four.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
He was very pensive. He was definitely very pensive as
far as like Ben Grahm and with Natasha leone where
I think that they they're probably going with that is
because especially with certain sentiments right now, Ben Grimm is
a noticeably he's like the Jewish character in Marvel Comics,

(18:19):
and they really take it back to Yancey Street where
he grew up and everything, and where Judaism is very
much part of Ben Grimm's identity. I feel like, like
the one thing about Ben Graham that people like forget
to think about just because like we just think of
him as this rock, but he's a perpetually lonely person, yes,

(18:47):
who will forever be lonely even when he's surrounded by
the people he loves and in people who love him.
He will always be lonely, and that's the sadness of
him and him kind of going back, especially to that synagogue.
I think that's the purpose of that.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
I get appreciate that part.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Yes, so I and I know he has some built
in uh stories, but keep in mind I think eight
three eighths dead. Yes, So Unfortunately, I think Natasha Leone
get this.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
For one movie.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
We get this for one movie, and that's unfortunate because
I actually really like this is probably the most tolerable
Natasha Leone character we've ever gotten. Uh. I love Natasha Leone,
but this is the most tolerable we've ever seen this woman.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
She was not caustic in this at all.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
Yes, yes she is. She is an eccentric New Yorker.
That's her, that's her aesthetic, that's her thing. But she's
just she's also just a really good actor too, but
very It's just naturally fun which is upsetting just because
you hear the things that come out of her mouth
and you're like, God, damn it, why can somebody just

(20:07):
think something like that because she's very funny. But so
and then with with at least Pedro for me, I
with him being kind of like a little flat for you.
I saw it as more like showing that what's his name,
Reid is actually one of the weaker He's probably the

(20:29):
weakest of the four. He has a tremendous intellect, but
that is also his intellect is also his biggest like downfall, downfall, Yeah,
because he does think and Venice Kirby brings it up
like really, well, he he doesn't think rationally. He thinks

(20:51):
like uh, mechanically uh. And he just happens to be
the face of the group because he's ultimately responsible. So
I don't feel like mister fantastic is much needed. I
think for him what we got with with Pedro. Pedro

(21:12):
is just a sexy dude right now, and he looks
good at a stanchion. Am I wrong? Yeah? No, No,
you're right, the fantastic actor and he like I feel
like you look at him and Vanessa Kirby and honestly
you believe that they could be married just because the
way that he acts. He is a he's a perfect partner.

(21:38):
He matches with every single person. Vanessa Kirby was fantastic.
I loved her, can't say any more good things about it.
And also people forget that she's the most powerful one
of the of the of the.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Group till Nathan comes along.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
Yeah, Ben Grimm will will live forever. But what Sue
Storm is is definitely the power of the group.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
I enjoyed this movie. I don't want to make people
think that I didn't enjoy it. It is very difficult
for me to go into a comic book movie after
seeing Superman three times and enjoying it all three times,
Like it was the first time I had ever seen
Superman on screen.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
So you got lucky this year, You're lucky with one
of the best Superman movies we'll ever see.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Yeah, there's obviously some bias there, Like I cannot deny that.
I will not deny that. And I'm happy to say
that Man Superman was better than Fantastic Four for me.
But that was unless this was a crappy Superman movie,
which thankfully it was not. That just wasn't going to
be the case. With that being said, it is the

(22:46):
best Marvel movie that has been released in what seems
like freaking forever. And I enjoyed the Thunderbolts.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Oh okay, I was like, I like Thunderbolts.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
No, I enjoyed Thunderbolts, but this is probably the best
Marvel movie that's been released since Oh, in the Game.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
I mean, yeah, yeah, absolutely, this is the best Marvel
movie we got.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
I mean you're talking about seven years. I think In
Game came out in twenty eighteen.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
You know what, Actually, I do have Superman ranked above this,
so like I have Superman, like right now, Companions still
in my number one. I'll probably change it. I'll probably
change the end of the year, and then Centers is
number two and Superman's three, and then we'll get to
it here in a second together as number four.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
Yeah, mine goes, Mine goes Centers Superman and then Companion.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
Okay, uh, but yeah, I really just I think Joseph
Quinn really killed that character man. He and also, like
you you talked about like the difference between his his
Johnny Storm and uh and Chris Evans, where he was
more of a hot head, and so was Michael B.

(24:01):
Jordan a little bit, yes, But with Joseph Quinn, what
they really did was he's a humble. He's more of
a humble he knows that he like people love him,
but he like he kind of shies away from it.
And I think that's a Joseph Quinn trait that we
can all kind of get along one I would think
so yeah, and he seems somewhat genuine, and I think

(24:25):
that's part of it as well. I did. I brought
this up last week, but I never got around to it.
Joseph Quinn I have small beef. He said he wants
to work with Tom Holland's Spider Man because he's our
best Spider Man. And I was like, hold up, hold up,
hold up, hold up that that's a very weighted statement.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
I mean, in the words of the dude, that's like
your opinion, man, it's a Joseph Quinn.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
I was like, I mean, you can think, oh you
want about any of the original Spider Man's but Toby mcgwah,
like he was way too old to be Peter Parker.
But he's a damn good Peter Parker Spider.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Man thirty seven years old when he was playing an
eighteen year old.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
He's a damn good Spider Man and Peter Parker.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
And I love that we got redemption for Andrew Garfield
in No Way Home.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
No Way Home was perfect. I love that movie.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
No, well, there's there's another one that we forgot to
bring up. No Way Home was great, and it came
after Endgame, So.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
How was that even so much better than than Homecoming?
And what's it called?

Speaker 1 (25:38):
Far From From Home?

Speaker 2 (25:39):
And those two movies are fantastic, and somehow No Way
Home blows them out of the water.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
It's because we got not only we got a good
Spider Man, you know, we got multiple Spider Man, but
we also had the return of Alfred Molina and Willem Dafoe,
which I think is a big part for me why
I love that movie so much. Those were those were

(26:07):
my Green Goblin and doc Ox. I mean period, end of.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
Story, whenever, whenever, the the three of them finally synchronized
at the very end of the of the the battle,
and we see them all like carry themselves and thwip
around in their own like very specific ways, how each
of them like would hold their body, and then whenever

(26:32):
they landed and all did like the the very like
they are very particular super Spider Man poses. Dude, I
get goosebumps thinking about that, just because like I love
like Toby Maguire, Like that's how I thought of Spider
Man for the longest time, even though I had the
animated series. There was something about that first movie for

(26:53):
like and I and I hated that green Goblin costume
so much. I hated the costume.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
I hated them did suck. But Dafoe is so good.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
I was like, I can't sane so well because what
the fuck else were they gonna.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
Do with in that in that first Spider Man Rammy
Spider Man movie, when the Mask is sitting there and
Willem Dafoe is talking to the mask. Yeah, that's such
a good scene.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
It's crazy scene. It's just acting.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
Yeah, acting.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
I loved. I loved the New Fantastic Four movie. I
loved it a ton. I've seen it twice in theater.
There's just like I. They they got the characters, they
got Lactics right, they got the Challah ball, they she
got man.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
We didn't even talk about Galactus until right now. How
great was it to see a comics accurate Galactus on
this It was perfect?

Speaker 2 (27:52):
Like I was, I had no concept of how are
they how they were going to do it, but they
accomplished it. And like I and the world Eater that
he was like travels around in I never really thought
of how he consumed planets, but it makes so much sense.
And like Yeah, it grinds it down and just like

(28:15):
powers him through these like tentacles and like it was like,
and that's you can use that as a weakness. It's
just like I thought, it was just so like it
was a well thought out, fantastic for a movie. I
don't think we're ever going to get a better even
in sequels to this. I don't think there's a possibility
we can get a better Fantastic four movie than this,

(28:35):
because it was perfect. Paul Waltzerhauser was hilarious. It was
hilarious and charming whatever, like, like there was just something
about Sue Storm.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
He loved mutual respect there. It was good. It was
good to see.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
And you know, last thing I'll say on the film,
the the costume designer deserves a freaking oscar.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
I looked it up and uh, dude, it it is
in sane what she does. Like I looked at her IMDb,
her IMDb and she's been working with Marvel recently. Uh
but here, I'll pull it up, give me a second.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
I just that that again, that retro futuristic look of
the buildings and the scenery, and then you've got great
sixty style clothing on everybody. The Fantastic Four suits were perfect,
the space suits were perfect.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Everything about she did the Flash she did, but she
she started off doing period pieces, so she's done. Like Emma.
She did uh doctor Strange Ultron Guardians of the Galaxy.
She gave us all the looks of Guardians of the
Galaxy and that's completely underrated. She unfortunately, I think, probably

(29:55):
gave us the the Captain America cow thing in the
first event. Oh no, I think that's probably her biggest misstep.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
Drew, that's America's ass.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
A phantom, Phantom of the Opera, Elizabeth. Yeah, dude, she
her name is Alexandra Byrne. I looked her up like
immediately after the movie. I was like, yeah, I need
to look to see what else she's done, because she
is brilliant. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
So you know, if I'm doing a out of ten
scale seven seven and a half for me, I get it.
But I know you're higher on it, and that's okay.
It's still a good movie and you should still watch it.
You should go to your theater and watch it because
it's well worth the price of admission. Yes, now I
will tell you what is not worth the price of admission,

(30:45):
and that is the eighty dollars popcorn bucket with galactus
and glowing eyes.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Maybe it is someone does someonet it was.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
I was in a theater that had somebody who bought
three of them.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
Oh, because they're selling them.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Yeah yeah. Two of them showed up on eBay very
quickly after that.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
But I love Fantastic four. I I highly suggest I
think it's it's I think it's a great movie. I
also have just a history of loving the Fantastic four.
I own I own fantistic Okay, okay, I own it whatever.

(31:26):
I bought it at best Buy and I brought it
up to the register. The guy's like, are you sure
about that? He did? He really? He commented on it.
I was like, yeah, yeah, he even has mouse tell
her in it, And yeah, I bought it. You think
you're gonna stop me from buying a Michael B. Jordan
Kate Merra movie.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
Come on, not with not my cup of tea.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
But costumes are gone awful.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
To each the road?

Speaker 2 (31:53):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
I do want to bring up the stinger at the end.
I know you and I talked about it just after
we saw it. My feeling was that it was it
was hinted at Obviously early on, we do see let
Varia brought up at one point in the un and
it's discussed multiple times. Uh so, so we know let

(32:16):
very exists on Earth eight three eight or eight two eight,
whichever it is, eight two eight.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Thank you, Jack Kirby's birthday August right.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
That's right. I just I felt it was unearned. Personally,
I get it. I understand why. I just felt it
was a little unearned.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
I feel like it's the place where you need to
put it. It's also the first like major movie that like, well,
I mean, we got Thunderbolts, but I feel like we've
said that a bunch. But it's like the first like
tent pole Marvel movie that we've gotten since the announcement
of Doom. Sure so. And also, this is just a

(32:59):
big acquisition of getting the Fantastic Four shut. So I
don't know how they're going to play out, or how
they're going to be entering our universe and then what
happens to theirs or maybe third of the reason why
they need to get away from their universe. Sorry, I'm

(33:20):
just going through this all right now.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
So we've been we've been seeing a lot of leaked
footage from the Doomsday set.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (33:28):
We've seen Doom with thor, we've seen Doom with Deadpool. Okay, uh,
we know that at the end of Thunderbolts the Fantastic
Four show up. The interesting tidbit of that was that
the director of Fantastic Four First Steps had no idea.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
Yeah, because the Russo's just used all these sets and
and shot on all these other directors sets.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
Yeah. The other interesting tidbit to come out from Marvel
is that Rebecca Romain slip in an interview on a
Red Carpet that she's unsure if she has more scenes
to shoot because the script for dooms Day is not finished.
So the rumor mill that is coming out of this,

(34:15):
and I emphasize rumor, is that there is a placeholder
date for Doomsday that could be taken by Spider Man
Brand New Day should this script not come together and

(34:36):
they get the ending that they're looking for for Doomsday.
So keep your eyes out, your ears out for that.
I think that's an interesting rumor, at least because Spider
Man Brand New Day is shooting right now, so.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
I didn't even think about that movie either. Exciting, but
I'm excited for the future. Just I mean why wouldn't
I be excited. It's just it's a it's a whether
they're a good movie or a bad movie. Unfortunately, if
you're spending a lot of money at the theater, I
hope it's a good movie for you if you're taking

(35:14):
the time. But these this is once again, I consider
all Marvel movies episodes. Yep, they're just the next episode
and the show that is Marvel. And there are sometimes
smaller episodes which are broken up into multiple episodes, but yeah,

(35:35):
there are just episodes. Nonetheless, sometimes you can skip an
episode and it doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
It's really just about entertainment. Like if it's.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Almost like wwe, yeah, Nick, you know what I got
to see this past week as well?

Speaker 1 (35:53):
What did you get to see?

Speaker 2 (35:55):
I mean, it's got one of our Lords and Saviors,
at least one of mine. I know, like that's probably
blasphemous to you.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
It's Dave Franco Frank was the podcast.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
He is one of them. I think John Candy from
San La from a Little Rookie. I went through baseball
movies recently and they all just flooded me at the
same time.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
From he's not in any of those.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
You don't know that he I'm sure he was friends
with James Earl Jones. Uh an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.
What's his name? Uh yeah, together, Dave Franco. Sorry, I
am so a d d H. But I watched together.
I got to go see an early screening together Nick.

(36:48):
It was awesome. I don't know if it's as as
good as I think it is, because I think it's
I think it's very good. It is my number four
movie of the year. It could move down if I
think of it more. But first like, it's a very
fun horror movie. It's a very fun, very uncomfortable, very

(37:08):
I can't say original, just because of the pending lawsuit
and everything. I don't know if it's original or not,
but regardless, it is a very entertaining horror movie. It's
not like a scary horror movie so much. There are
definitely some scares and depending on how you feel about stuff,

(37:30):
but it's a super, super, just fun horror movie that
has two people who have great chemistry for obvious reasons,
they are married in real life, but it's them two
tackling a different part of what some relationships can be.
If one person sacrifices a lot for another, but also

(37:56):
seems to just be like an appendage of them and
not like themselves. So it's it's an interesting take on
relationships like whether you're close or you're not close. It
really covers that. But also it's just all like, it's

(38:16):
not about compromise. It's what did I write down? Let
me let me pull up what I what I wrote,
because I probably had a better thought than oh yeah,
it's I wrote. It's an interesting take on what love
means and looks like the longer you're in a relationship,
because it the way your love, especially if you're married

(38:37):
or anything. I'm assuming because I'm not definitely changes. You're
not like the same type of in my opinion, some
people aren't always like the same type of love. Like
usually like it just evolves, you spend like you're not
as on top of each other or whatever. But yeah,

(38:58):
I think it's fun. I think it's very entertaining. I
think the if you're like body horror, it's the way
the body horror works is definitely interesting and brings some
very uncomfortable moments. But there's a scene in a there's

(39:19):
two scenes in a bathroom and a scene in a
hallway that are just insane to watch. It's like the
scene in the hallway is probably like it's the main scene,
but it's just it's balls to the wall. Man. I
can't explain together any any better than that, but it's

(39:41):
just like it's grimy. The movie's grimy as shit because
they're just sweating and dirty and it's a con like
the movie, it gets to a point where it's just
a constant fight in a constant battle, and I cannot
run it, cannot recommend it more. I think it's so fun.

(40:03):
I know I've repeated that a lot, but that just
tells you how much I enjoyed it. It's just and
I only really gave it a four out of five.

Speaker 1 (40:14):
I mean, I'm going to see it on Thursday morning.
There's an eleven o'clock screening at the at my local cinema,
so I'll let you know what I think about it.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
It's so much fun. The only reason why I'm a
little bit like a little less remembering it because I've
watched seven movies since yeah and that was this week.

Speaker 1 (40:38):
Yeah. Well, I just think that since you know, this
is I think the second movie that Dave and Allison
have started together since since they're starring in movies together
as a couple. I just need Dave Franco to be
in the community movie.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
I think you will be. I think you will be.
I hope. So also, Hey, that night I saw together,
I did a double feature. I saw I Know What
You Did last summer? So I was gonna go see Superman,
and I was actually gonna text to you, I'm about
to I just got out together. I'm about to go
see Superman.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
I was like, what a two play?

Speaker 2 (41:15):
But then I was like, you know what, I need
to make a conscious effort to go see this this
I Know What you did last summer? So I did
and chase you wonder. It's a fine movie. It's a
good it's it's a fun horror movie. And then I
finally watched the original after twenty eight years. I liked it,

(41:36):
so I suggest I Know What You did last summer.
I gave it a three and a half out of five.

Speaker 1 (41:41):
I mean, it's been a long time since I saw
the original. What ninety seven film?

Speaker 2 (41:49):
It's good. I watched it. I watched it recently and
it's good.

Speaker 1 (41:53):
I'll have to rewatch it and then go see it all.

Speaker 2 (41:55):
Right, And then let's get into the movie that we
were about to talk about, and then brought it back
to together. Happy Go More To.

Speaker 1 (42:03):
Happy Go More To came out on the twenty fifth
of this month. It is to this day the most
viewed movie on Netflix. The opening weekend the Friday, Saturday
and Sunday, it tracked forty seven million viewers. Now, if

(42:28):
you were to extrapolate that and this is this is
forty seven million households. Like, that's not to say that
there weren't more people watching the screen at the same time.
The average price of a ticket in America right now
to go to the movies is eleven dollars and thirty
one cents.

Speaker 2 (42:48):
I was going to say thirteen seventy five.

Speaker 1 (42:49):
But eleven dollars and thirty one cents. If you multiply
that by the it's technically forty six point seven million.
It had a five hundred and a million dollar opening weekend.

Speaker 2 (43:03):
Yeah, but you also have to factor and the people
who be willing.

Speaker 1 (43:07):
I know you're you're talking about streaming versus movie theater.
I get it. That's still insane number.

Speaker 2 (43:14):
Yes, I think it was as good as it could
be the movie, and yes, it was as topical as
it could be as well. It's very on top of
like Elon Musk and culture in general. Yeah, but uh,
and also it had the ultimate theme of an Adam
Sandler Netflix movie. Do you know what that is?

Speaker 1 (43:34):
What's that I will.

Speaker 2 (43:36):
Do anything for my daughter? Correct that that's the underlying
theme of any Adam Sandler Netflix movie pretty much almost
any of them. I will do anything for my daughter.
And and Adam Adam was a good atom.

Speaker 1 (43:50):
So listen, Is it the best movie I've seen this year?
Absolutely not. Is it in my top ten?

Speaker 2 (43:57):
No?

Speaker 1 (43:58):
But I'll tell you what it was retaining and funny
and heartwarming, and that's all I can ask from a
happy Gilmour two in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (44:08):
Yeah, I've seen forty one movies from twenty twenty five
so far. It is my number twenty seven. You know what,
I'd probably rewatch this over so many more movies that
are even above it. It's just a fun movie, Adam is.
There's so many cameos. And I really thought Maroget quality
was gonna be a bigger part of the movie, because
I think I thought Margaret and Eric and the guy

(44:31):
from the Lonely Island not Lonely island, the please don't
destroy uh. For some reason, whenever they were golfing together
for the first time, I thought they were going to
be like his team. I thought they were gonna be
like like the people who just worked with him. But
then nope, they were just done Mark quality, Eric Andre

(44:54):
and what's his name work just okay, we'll dance in
the in the in the T box or whatever, and
that was it.

Speaker 1 (45:02):
We did get a moment from man. All I wanted
when he came on screen was it to be was
for him to be his character from SNEL Domingo I.

Speaker 2 (45:17):
Marcelo Hernandez. Yes, thank you, I love Marcelo.

Speaker 1 (45:20):
All I wanted was Domingo.

Speaker 2 (45:22):
I get it. But you know what, him just being
what's his name Benita Oscar. I didn't even know his
name was Oscar, just his buddy who would just do
anything for him. I like that. And also, like I
was just talking about that with my sister, I was like,
I think bad Bunny just likes having Marcelo Hernandez around.

(45:43):
I would agree, because they they did almost all their
schedules on SNL together because for obvious reasons, but also
I just think that they vibe comedically with each other.
So absolutely, it's it's a good combination. And then m
Jf's in the movie as well.

Speaker 1 (46:00):
Apparently there had to be extra insurance taken out on
the film because of Mjf's presence on set.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
Yes, as a normal person who plays a character.

Speaker 1 (46:12):
So apparently he is very method in the way he acts.

Speaker 2 (46:17):
Yes, so he know he got like basically naked. But yeah,
so that it was.

Speaker 1 (46:24):
Just a funny part of an article I read from
a reputable source, so I thought it was funny. But no,
it's it's an enjoyable movie. Do I wish we got
more Julie Bowen Absolutely, yeah, I think that was the
least well handled portion of this film. But I think

(46:46):
the rewrites that happened because Carl Weathers passed away probably
ended up with the story with Julie Bowland being the
way that it was.

Speaker 2 (46:57):
Yeah, Julie bone dying problem had everything to do with
uh well, I mean the character, uh not the woman
had everything to do with with her dying early on
in the movie. But I like the fact that she
had a remaining presence in the movie. Yes, so she
wasn't like she wasn't a big part of the movie,

(47:18):
but she was still still present. I I don't know,
it was just I enjoyed the golf parts, especially whenever
we got all the cameos from like either real golfers
faked golfers. It was way too cameo heavy. But it's

(47:40):
whenever you have Travis Kelsey in there just as a yeah, yeah,
who's who's kind of an like, who's an asshole? And
I don't know why he has so much authority over
bad Bunny, but he does, he does, and he just
seems like a waiter and then he appears as as
a torture victim.

Speaker 1 (48:00):
Yeah, okay, listen, nobody said that this was Shakespeare.

Speaker 2 (48:07):
Okay, no, but you know what it's It's a.

Speaker 1 (48:10):
Adam Saydlor's Romeo and Juliet. That's what That's what I
need to see on Netflix.

Speaker 2 (48:16):
Nick, don't put that into the world. Don't put that
into the world, because then we'll get Leo like doing
Romeo and Juliet. No, not not Leo, Noardo DiCaprio. I'm
talking about the Lizard movie that he did.

Speaker 1 (48:29):
No, No, I got it, No, I got it.

Speaker 2 (48:32):
Sorry for clarification, but no, it's not a good movie.
I will rewatch it. Not as many times as the
first one. No, but I will rewatch it.

Speaker 1 (48:44):
But the walking off into the sunset at the end was.

Speaker 2 (48:47):
Fitting, Yeah, so much.

Speaker 1 (48:53):
His bus jersey was bad. I didn't like it. I
felt like it was almost a tribute to the ending
scene of Tommy Boy.

Speaker 2 (49:04):
On the on the.

Speaker 1 (49:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
Kind yeah, not as as impactful, but especially because I
mean Chris Farley on that boat. Like, actually, it doesn't
bookend it because like he's starting.

Speaker 1 (49:24):
You've got a fat well on your boat higher Aregon.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
Yeah, to watch it. It's it's fun. Watch it.

Speaker 1 (49:35):
It's a fun time. I've got some rapid fire stuff
real quick. Please chime in if you would like. Uh,
we got news from Variety that Eddie Murphy is attached
to a new Pink Panther project. And I don't mean
Pink Panther from the animation side of things. I mean

(49:57):
the inspector Cluesseau, Peter Cellar, Steve Martin. You know, Eddie
Murphy is now taking over as inspector Cluso. Is this
going to be a French Beverly Hills cop. I don't know.
I can only hope.

Speaker 2 (50:14):
I kind of hope he puts his own thing on it.
Because the Pink Panther is such a weird character that
I could that it could definitely use some interpretation by others,
And definitely the Steve Martin one was certainly something I
think if you look back, like I hated those movies

(50:35):
when everybody first watched them when they first came out,
But if you look back on them, they're probably like
I haven't watched it since they came out. I imagine
there's actually some really funny stuff there. Sure that is
probably age is good, and I'm sure there's a lot
of stuff that has an age very good too. But

(50:55):
I like Eddie Murphy and I think that character could
it could use an update. Yeah, I whether or not
I will like it. I mean, Eddie Murphy is either
hitting or miss for me, and I wish they were
all hits. I wish they were all hits.

Speaker 1 (51:11):
For me for every coming to America. There's also a
Pluto Nash.

Speaker 2 (51:15):
Yes, So I heard that news and I was like it.
It gave me the which I'm gonna just consider call
it from now on. The Madam Web tilt just the
because the entire time I was in Madam Web, I

(51:36):
had that that head gesture and whenever I just I
hear anything, and if I just kind of tilt my
head up like that, that's I think of Madam web.

Speaker 1 (51:48):
And sure, no makes total sense.

Speaker 2 (51:51):
It's kind of confusion, but I get it. It's total confusion,
but I get it. Yeah, might not not, might not
make sense, but that makes sense to me because I
knew what Madam Webb was trying to do, but they
were just not doing it.

Speaker 1 (52:05):
They did not do it. No, Meet the Fokkers four
has an official title Fokker in Law. This is the
project not only bringing back Robert de Niro and Ben Stiller,
but also starring Ariana Grande and Skyler Gazando.

Speaker 2 (52:22):
So my sister doesn't get the sex appeal. My sister
doesn't get it. She like she doesn't see the weird
rass weird. I'm gonna re emphasize weird raw sex appeal
of Skyler Gazando.

Speaker 1 (52:36):
I was about to say I happen to like Ariana Grande,
but I know you're talking about Skyler Gazando.

Speaker 2 (52:42):
And I've come around on ari Iron Grande since I
started watching her due press for Wicked. Because I had
no opinion of her before that, I didn't listen like
I'm not her target demographic for music, even though most
of the music I listened to Our Women fronted.

Speaker 1 (52:55):
Sorry when you said target demographic, all I could think
of was Randy Saint Ray.

Speaker 2 (53:02):
Do you like pussy? Yeah? Sorry, No, it's understandable. I
trust me. But like, I didn't catch why you were
laughing at first, but then I totally get it. I'm
not her target demographic. No you're not. But and so

(53:22):
and I didn't watch like Sam and Kat or Victorious.
So I did watch I Carly, but I got off.
I'm gonna edit that out. I jumped off the ship
after I Carly gotcha.

Speaker 1 (53:39):
Listen. The first two movies in the Focker franchise I
thoroughly enjoyed. I thought the original one was fantastic. It
was nice to see Robert de Niro in a comedic role.
I believe analyzed this had come out before Meet the Fokkers. Yes,
so we knew he had it in him. I thought
him and Ben Stiller playing off each other there was great.

Speaker 2 (54:01):
And then du Hoffman and Barbara streisand.

Speaker 1 (54:04):
Yes in the second or in the yeah in the
second one. Uh so, like they have their merits. They're
funny movies.

Speaker 2 (54:11):
That first one that the scene in the pool when
he when he spikes the ball into the bride's face. Yes,
is good. Ah, it's so funny.

Speaker 1 (54:22):
I mean it's also we also get the light detector
test and we get the I have nipples, Greg, can
you milk me? Which is forever in our lexicon. Yeah,
so like again, they have merit. I'm intrigued to see
this fourth movie. The third one I didn't think was.

Speaker 2 (54:37):
Very good Fox's No, it wasn't.

Speaker 1 (54:39):
So the fourth one I'm hoping, Uh, we'll come back
around and be pretty good. Uh. We did get some
sequel news on two separate sequels. First and foremost, my
best friend's wedding is getting a sequel. I know that
you and I are both fans of nineties rom coms. Uh,
this was one of one of the better on in

(55:00):
my opinion, my best friend's wedding. Julia Roberts was just
meant to play in rom comms. I think the Good
Lord flucked her out of a crowd and said you
will be in rom comms and be excellent in them.

Speaker 2 (55:12):
She really was perfect and she was kind of made
for him.

Speaker 1 (55:15):
Yeah, so that could be interesting. But my favorite news
of the week that could turn into great news depending
on how things go. Grimlin's three script is finished. Polish
has been done. The only thing we are waiting for
is one of our other patron saints, mister Steven Spielberg,

(55:37):
to read it and sign off on it.

Speaker 2 (55:40):
I have a feeling it's all going to come down
to budget.

Speaker 1 (55:43):
Oh absolutely. If this is a forty to fifty or
let's count for inflation. If this is a ninety million
dollar movie, it gets made. If this is a one
hundred and fifty plus million dollar movie, it ain't getting made.

Speaker 2 (55:56):
Yeah, Nick, Speaking of sequels, did you happen to get
the Avatar fire and Ash trailer?

Speaker 1 (56:06):
I did, and I could not care less.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
It's gotta be fucking awesome, man.

Speaker 1 (56:10):
Even my son turned to me during That's gonna be awesome.
My son turned to me and goes, are we supposed
to care about that? And I said, no, son, no
we're not.

Speaker 2 (56:20):
Yeah, you can, and you know why, because it's gonna
be awesome.

Speaker 1 (56:24):
Listen, I love James Cameron as much as the next guy.
The you know, Titanic was brilliant. T two maybe one
of the greatest action movies of all time. Really, Aliens
was fantastic. I know you and I have talked about
aliens versus alien which one's better? You know, as the

(56:47):
carpenter guy. You know, as both of us are carpenter guys.
I always anticipated we'd both be alien people. I am
an aliens but I enjoyed aliens more. I was getting to.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
I was like, I thought you were an aliens person,
and I'm an aliens guy.

Speaker 1 (57:07):
Cameron like, he has done some of the most fascinating
things we've ever seen on screen. U T one thousand
for Christ's sake. Yeah, so my my biggest X.

Speaker 2 (57:23):
No, I don't think he had anything.

Speaker 1 (57:27):
I just don't care about the avatar.

Speaker 2 (57:29):
It's fine, it's fine.

Speaker 1 (57:31):
It's Fern Gully, but Fern Gully.

Speaker 2 (57:33):
In space Nick, it's so pretty.

Speaker 1 (57:35):
It's Gully and space Man.

Speaker 2 (57:38):
Nick. Also, I had like, because there's not a ton
of like dialogue in the trailer.

Speaker 1 (57:43):
It's no, there is not.

Speaker 2 (57:45):
But at one point, like the human character in that
movie is their name is Spider. But if you don't
know that, and all of a sudden you just hear
somebody say Spider uh in the trailer, You're like, why
did they just say Spider?

Speaker 1 (58:02):
I was about to say I did not see any
spiders on the screen at that time, so I was
very confused.

Speaker 2 (58:07):
Yeah, he's the human character with dreadlocks, the white guy
with dreadlocks.

Speaker 1 (58:12):
So yeah, listen for those of you who love Avatar,
I mean it made over a billion dollars. There are
people out there that love it. I'm just not one
of you enjoy the movie. I'm sure that this sequel
will be you know, the second sequel, the third and
the trilogy out of actually the third, out of what
twenty seven projected moves that James is gonna make. I'm

(58:36):
sure it's gonna be fine. I'm sure it's gonna make
a billion dollars. Again, I just don't care.

Speaker 2 (58:41):
Oh that's what I know him from the kid who
played Spider. He's in the movie Freaky Tales. Oh and
I guess he was in the Newest Screen movie as well.

Speaker 1 (58:50):
I also did get a trailer for Freaky or Friday. Well,
I'm I listen. I love Jamie Lee Curtis.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
Yeah, I love Jamiely Curtis.

Speaker 1 (59:01):
I like, I'm up for a good redemption story. So
here's hoping that Lindsay Lohan, uh you know, is a
good actor again.

Speaker 2 (59:11):
Yeah, she moved to Dubai at the.

Speaker 1 (59:13):
United I hate that they killed off her twin. I
never see the twin anymore.

Speaker 2 (59:20):
I think she's just probably living in a cottage.

Speaker 1 (59:24):
Waiting for her parents to get back together.

Speaker 2 (59:26):
Probably. Yeah, unfortunately her mom will never get there. Yeah,
but who died? Somebody died from that series, from that
movie from Parent Trap not I think Liam Neeson's wife.
Uh uh, sad, I have to say that, oh, Nick.

(59:46):
Also in I Know What You Did Last Summer, the
Newer One, there's a character who, while they're watching fireworks, says,
we come to this place for magic, just like I
don't know who you are. I'll probably never see you
in a movie again, but thank.

Speaker 1 (01:00:05):
You, thank you for your service.

Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
Yeah. But yeah, I'm looking forward to Avatar, fire and
Ash I'm in. I'm ready, I'm ready for it. I
watched that last year. We didn't get another one.

Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
I'll watch it for the podcast. I guess any other.

Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
Movie you're gonna watch the Way of Water as well.

Speaker 1 (01:00:28):
I guess I'll have to.

Speaker 2 (01:00:29):
And Avatar, I guess i'll have to.

Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
I've tried many times, but I'll just push through.

Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
Let's get you some mushrooms and do it.

Speaker 1 (01:00:38):
Mushrooms.

Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
You just eight grams of Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00:45):
Dave Franco Emmy Emmy nominated Actor Dave Franco.

Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
Emmy campaign is here. Yeh, Dave. If you ever want
to know.

Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
It's our favorite season, Drew Awards Ward season.

Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
But Dave, we are we will fight for you for this,
for this Emmy nomination.

Speaker 1 (01:01:03):
Of the people that listen to this podcast will be
on your side.

Speaker 2 (01:01:06):
Dipping less than less each week I'm getting. But yeah, Nick,
since I guess that's most of the movie news and
we'll get to w W in just a second, or
did you have any other movie news that you wanted to.

Speaker 1 (01:01:18):
Get I have no more new movie news. I have
one bit of TV that I would like to talk about.
You know. Last week on the podcast, we did discuss
Matt and Trey getting one point five billion dollars from Paramount.
The Paramount Skydance merger went forward, the eight billion dollar

(01:01:40):
merger to a Trump sycophant's son who now owns Paramount,
one of the oldest media companies in all of television history.
The following day after that merger went about, South Park
premiered its first episode of the twenty seventh season of

(01:02:01):
South Park and man did we go on a ride?

Speaker 2 (01:02:06):
Uh so old and completely Oh my god, behind the
scenes of that too.

Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
So the uh, just to put this into perspective everyone,
Instead of mister Garrison being a Trump like character, we
got Trump as a character with a photorealistic face and
he must Hussein voiced by the same person voice, said

(01:02:39):
Mussein in the same exact voice. To end the episode,
he got a commercial. I guess is what it was
supposed to be. That was Ai generated of Trump walking
through the desert.

Speaker 2 (01:02:58):
Really closed. I don't no. AI was definitely involved, but
it's a it's a deep fake. It's which does use AI,
but it's it's a deep fake that they have been
unfortunately using for a while. I know the Corridor crew
have definitely covered they're definitely going to cover this, but yeah,
it's a like most of the most of the footage

(01:03:21):
is real, but it's a it's.

Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
A very interestingly done deep fake. See.

Speaker 2 (01:03:28):
I thought that was like a fan thing at first,
because I didn't watch the season premiere. I was I
think it was at the movie uh, and I had
seen this Adam Hussein like, oh my type was laying
in the bed to satan. But then I think. The
next day I saw that the video, I was like,

(01:03:48):
oh my god.

Speaker 1 (01:03:50):
And then the commercial kept talking about Trump's tiny wiener
and and then we got it that Wiener was actually
a character.

Speaker 2 (01:03:58):
That had That's how they got it on it. That's
how they got best standards because it's not a penis.
It's a character. Character lolls standards and practices.

Speaker 1 (01:04:09):
Kudos to you, Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

Speaker 2 (01:04:13):
They're just so brilliant by getting that, by getting that
Bye is just genius level.

Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
When you've been doing this for over thirty years now
you'll learn the tricks, is all I'm gonna say.

Speaker 2 (01:04:25):
They're great, congratulations, and then they're they're get your bag.
People who deserved it, people who like creative partners who
deserved it. I thought for sure they were going to break.
I'm sure they've had some spats. I thought for sure
they wouldn't last this long, especially no how like what

(01:04:47):
we know from like BASEketball and everything like that. That
was almost thirty years ago.

Speaker 1 (01:04:53):
I love that movie, so it's a great movie.

Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
I need to rewatch it. I haven't watched that movie
since probably I watched it with you.

Speaker 1 (01:05:00):
You don't you love Taco Bell?

Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
In her late twenties early.

Speaker 1 (01:05:04):
Probably it's so good.

Speaker 2 (01:05:07):
Yeah, it's a great movie.

Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
Oh again, kudos to South Park. May your twenty seventh
season be fantastic. I'll be watching.

Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
They have Cartman as a Charlie Kirk type character, and
if they do like a close up animation of him
doing the Charlie Kirk face, all of our faces will
melt like they like it did. And the Raiders the
Lost Arc yep is that d like I don't remember
if he did a jubilee or something like that, but
he did like a smile to this girl and she said, no,

(01:05:40):
you shouldn't do that, and like I died laughing. I
was like, Oh, thank god. People just need to say
these things. These people's face is like like whenever like
he goes on like like the president, whenever he goes
on rants about like wind thows. I just want somebody
to just say that's not true. Just say it, like

(01:06:02):
have the balls to just like you don't have like
have to just listen say it. I don't care if
you get kicked out. I'm sure your publication and I'm
sure you can't care if you get kicked out, but
you will be thought of as somebody who actually matters,
ask him the actual question and not just let him spat.

(01:06:24):
But Nick the the only TV show I've been watching
because I finished watching The Studio. I watched it like
two days.

Speaker 1 (01:06:32):
Yeah, it's so easy.

Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
I started watching Stick on Apple.

Speaker 1 (01:06:38):
What are your thoughts because I'm mixed on it.

Speaker 2 (01:06:40):
I'm five episodes in. I like it a lot. I
think Owen Wilson, I think, how far episode? How many
episodes did you get into?

Speaker 1 (01:06:47):
I think I'm four or five?

Speaker 2 (01:06:48):
Then, so you know about his kid? Yes, okay, I
think it's a it's just a redemptive story like that.
We're getting sports a lot. It's just former has been
who kind of finds his love of the game through
somebody who reminds him of a child that they lost.
I think it's just like.

Speaker 1 (01:07:10):
Timothally fan.

Speaker 2 (01:07:11):
I haven't really gotten to him yet and i've seen
him all like an infomercial.

Speaker 1 (01:07:15):
But yeah, Owen Wilson's such an affable guy, like I
get it, like I need to. I need to dip
back into it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:22):
And I like Mark Maron. Mark Maron is a Mark
Maren fantastic actor. He doesn't think so, but.

Speaker 1 (01:07:30):
Maren's the most pessimistic about himself that anyone on this
planet is.

Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
I enjoy seeing him in anything I've seen him?

Speaker 1 (01:07:36):
Man, Yeah, Yeah, he's a brilliant mind.

Speaker 2 (01:07:40):
Yeah. And then he has a movie like I don't
know where it's streaming right now, The Sort of Truth
is a lot of fun and uh, I think that's
a Jane Campion movie too. That's probably not I don't.
I think I made that up. But yeah, I I
like Stick. I mainly started watching it because of Mark
Maren and then because I listen to his podcast and

(01:08:01):
it's ending and it's sad, but I like most of
Apple's products. I'll probably end up watching Murder Bought After,
which I hadn't started yet. And then I do need
to get into the one of the Stars cards, yeah Alexander. Uh,
and then I need to get into like U Shrinking

(01:08:22):
and all the other shrinking.

Speaker 1 (01:08:26):
But yeah, so anything else with TV.

Speaker 2 (01:08:30):
Let's get to WWE, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:08:33):
So for those of them might not know exactly, SummerSlam
first two night Summer Slam at MetLife.

Speaker 2 (01:08:42):
And Nick, where will you be?

Speaker 1 (01:08:44):
I don't want to talk about it. I will be
on a short family vacation with my in laws at
a water Park in Fairview Heights, Illinois, because that's exactly
where I want to be. I'll be watching the first
night of Summer slab on my phone in a hotel room.
Uh Man, looking over the cards for both Saturday and

(01:09:10):
Sunday night. It's it's a little it's a little hearkening
to look at, because you might as well just call
this the weekend of champions Uh. There are only two
three You're right, excuse me, because the other one is no.

(01:09:31):
There are only matches, three matches out of the twelve
that are not for championships. Excuse me, you are right.
Let's start with the night one. Let's start with August second, Saturday,
first and foremost. What match are you looking forward to
the most that night?

Speaker 2 (01:09:49):
Uh? Me? Uh? Okay, actually that night. I have to
get into that because I wrote down the just I
went by champion chip matches.

Speaker 1 (01:09:59):
Okay, well not let me. Let me go through him.
Then you've got Tiffany Stratton versus Jade Cargill for the
WWE Women's Championship. It is just a straight up singles match,
normal rules.

Speaker 2 (01:10:10):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:10:10):
You've got Randy Orton and Jelly Roll versus maybe Drew
McIntyre and Logan. Paul Drew McIntyre is landlocked in the
UK apparently, and the mizz is putting it out there
that he would like to be in this match if
Drew doesn't make it, which I think would make the
match more interesting personally. Uh. Gunther versus CM Punk for

(01:10:33):
the World Heavyweight Championship, You've got Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne
of the Judgment Day versus Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss
for the Women's Bag Team Championship. Roman Reigns and Jay
us So versus bron Breaker and Bronze the bron Bronze. Yeah,
and then Sammy Zain versus Carry and Cross in a

(01:10:54):
singles match.

Speaker 2 (01:10:56):
The match I'm actually the most excited for is Carrie
and Across sammy' za.

Speaker 1 (01:11:00):
I hop you were going to say that.

Speaker 2 (01:11:02):
I am looking forward to gun Through versus Him Punk.
I hope I I I don't wish for a short
reign of guntherro, but I kind of hope that s
him Punk wins. I really need.

Speaker 1 (01:11:13):
Punk needs the title more than Gunther does, in my opinion.

Speaker 2 (01:11:17):
I don't know. I like the I like the gun
through percentage. I love the gun Through percentage. Uh. That'll
have to dip eventually, But I love the gun through percentage.
It's and also he's just one of my favorite wrestlers
in general. Right sure, But you know what match is
probably gonna end up being my favorite from that night?

Speaker 1 (01:11:36):
I bet you Judgment versus Flair and Bliss.

Speaker 2 (01:11:40):
Yeah, you know, it's three really great wrestlers in Raquel.
Uh yes, I don't. I've got nothing against Raquel as
a wrestler. But when you have Alexo Bliss and Charlotte Flair,
who are both technicians in different ways, and then you
have Roxanne, who's a very profi wrestler, that's a banger.

(01:12:03):
That that's a shamous banger right there. Yeah, that'll probably
that'll probably end up being my favorite match of the night.
And like we all kind of know that, I'm a
I'm a tag fan, and I like dude Charlotte. In
a match Charlotte versus Roxanne, the height difference is a
little daunting.

Speaker 1 (01:12:24):
But see, I'm most excited about Alexa Bliss in this match.

Speaker 2 (01:12:28):
Yeah, I mean, I love Alexa. I think she's always
had a better move set than I like. She consistently
surprises me with how how interesting her move set is,
but she's also just very fluid at doing everything. She
took three years off and just can like stepped into
it like this step. Yeah, didn't lose anything. She I'm

(01:12:49):
sure she has, Like there's some things that she does
that are a little tentatives. But uh in Charlotte, Charlotte's Beast.
Roxanne can go, Raquel can go as well. But yeah,
I'm excited for that match.

Speaker 1 (01:13:03):
No, I think the match of the Knight's going to
be Sammy and Carryon. I just man, I'm glad carry
In is on a major card.

Speaker 2 (01:13:12):
I wanted to kind of devolve. I wanted to like
kind of I want to pick Yeah, I kind of
wanted to end like a a a double count out,
but they just keep going for and they let him
go for like fifteen minutes.

Speaker 1 (01:13:27):
Almost like that Randy Ko match that never really started
where they just beat the hell out of each other
on the outside.

Speaker 2 (01:13:36):
Yeah, but that's what I want. I wanted the match
to be five minutes and then to double count out
and just they go for the next fifteen to twenty
minutes on the app like they they might get back
into the ring, but I want them to just go. Yeah. Yeah,
I think that's that's the perfect kind of Sammy versus
Carryon match, Sure, because nobody really needs to win that match.

(01:14:00):
Carrion doesn't really need wins, he could use wins. Sammy
doesn't need a win because he does. He consistently gets
wins except for the most important one. I think this
needs to be more story than a win loss record.

Speaker 1 (01:14:16):
Sure agreed. As for the other matches from outcomes side
of things, I think Jade Cargill takes the belt off
of Tiffany Stratt, and I think they're setting up a
Jade Naomi Bianca kind of three way feud can't Wait,
which is gonna be awesome. I could really care less

(01:14:37):
about the Randy Orton jelly roll Logan Paul tag like,
literally could care less, but I'm a Randy Orton guy,
and I'd love I want to see Randy Orton win,
although if Drew is in it, Drew's always fun to watch,
So like, whoever wins whatever on.

Speaker 2 (01:14:53):
This wins because he just never gets wins.

Speaker 1 (01:14:56):
Yes, I just want it to be a good match.
Yeah as much as I Logan Paul Logan, Paul's pretty
damn stellar in the ring. Unfortunately, Yeah, uh so, like
it should be a good match. Uh, gun thro seeing
Punk we've talked about. I think Punk takes the belt
uh And I think Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss take
the belts off Judgment Day.

Speaker 2 (01:15:16):
I think they kind of I like Judgment Day having
a lot of gold, but because I think it's just
like they're the just the team that just keeps going.
And they kind of brought it up this week. They
were like, everybody else is gone, We're still here. Like
everybody keeps saying that we're gonna be gone, We're still here.

(01:15:37):
So I I like, Yeah, I like the Judgment Day.

Speaker 1 (01:15:43):
Roman and Jay versus the bron Bronze. I legitimately have
no idea where this is gonna go.

Speaker 2 (01:15:50):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:15:51):
You know raw last night Roman shoes ker everything.

Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
That's so funny that he did that, because it's so
part of the Roman Reigns personality is that it is.

Speaker 1 (01:16:13):
I mean, we have still talking about the SummerSlam as
a whole real quick, we have not had official confirmation
as to what's going on with Seth Rawlins. No, there
has been very ambiguous, very ambiguous. Do you think because

(01:16:37):
this will play into this match, do you think that
Seth rawlins cash is in his money in the bank
in the Gunther cm Punk matchup. If this injury is
part of the storyline and it is not a real injury,
I think that is a very real possibility.

Speaker 2 (01:16:58):
I think he just sold me on and see him
Punk winning and Seth cashing in, Yeah, because we get
like that.

Speaker 1 (01:17:06):
Straight up Drew McIntyre style, like the way that see
him Punk fucked him over and Damian Priest cashed in
on him.

Speaker 2 (01:17:15):
We've only just seen that one video of him and
the crutches that he posted.

Speaker 1 (01:17:20):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (01:17:20):
Well, and then he was on The Rich Eisend Joe
he hosted for a week and he was on crutches.

Speaker 1 (01:17:24):
Then I'm just saying it's a possibility. I'm not saying
it's a good possibility, just saying it's a possibility.

Speaker 2 (01:17:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:17:31):
And then without Seth, I think this Roman j Bron Broun,
I think it's a coin toss. I don't know who
wins this match because I don't know who needs it more.

Speaker 2 (01:17:43):
I think Jamie Jay takes the pen. That's what it
comes down to. Jay takes because I think they're trying
to establish some dominance and I think Bron's and bron
Breaker will probably get the pen himself because I think

(01:18:04):
it He did kind of say that he was the leader,
but then he kind of later also implied that they
were both. Yeah, so I'm still a little confused.

Speaker 1 (01:18:14):
Yeah, so interesting Night one for sure. Uh, it is
not near as interesting as Night two in my opinion.

Speaker 2 (01:18:22):
Yeah, you want to go over it.

Speaker 1 (01:18:23):
Yeah, So we have the Wyatt six versus Andrade Ray
Phoenix versus DIY versus Fhraxium versus the MotorCity Machine Guns
versus the Street Profits in a six pack TLC match
for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Speaker 2 (01:18:45):
Holy shit, And you know that's gonna be my favorite
match of the night.

Speaker 1 (01:18:49):
It's not gonna be a banger, It's it's.

Speaker 2 (01:18:52):
Not even gonna be closed.

Speaker 1 (01:18:53):
Yeah, We've got Dominic Mysterio versus AJ Styles for the
Intercontinental Championship. They on a great match with the Kabuki Warriors,
and obviously Judgment Day with one of the great best
one of the best moves I think I've ever seen
in my life, with Kyrie saying being leap frogged over

(01:19:16):
the freaking.

Speaker 2 (01:19:18):
By by AJ No. See, I think I think her
just doing off the top rope. I think that's just
it's art because she gets her body in such a
position that it's picture perfect.

Speaker 1 (01:19:32):
It was awesome to see.

Speaker 2 (01:19:33):
It's my favorite finishing move in all of wrestling, is
her her her elbow drop? Yeah, it was really I'm
saying that it's something as simple as that, and it's
been around forever. Randy Savage has like the most iconic one. Sure,
Kyrie saying has my favorite finish in all of wrestling.

Speaker 1 (01:19:50):
Uh, you know, we got to see a nice phenomenal
forearm from aj To in that match, So I think
this match is going to be really good. Yeah, I
think we'll get some judgment. Dave Shenanigan's Carl will go
on Winners and Losers here in a second solo so
CoA versus Jacob Fatu in a steel cage match.

Speaker 2 (01:20:10):
Because I.

Speaker 1 (01:20:12):
Love solo. I love what they've done with his character.
But man, the pops man well deserved, crowd loves well deserved.

Speaker 2 (01:20:24):
I am finally on the solo Soca train.

Speaker 1 (01:20:27):
I get it.

Speaker 2 (01:20:27):
I know.

Speaker 1 (01:20:28):
I love what they're doing with his character. I think
he's great, yeah, I think, and he plays it well.

Speaker 2 (01:20:33):
He's so funny, like he's become like, I think the
comedy wrestler and well, I mean no, Chelsea Green's the
comedy is the comedy roster MVP.

Speaker 1 (01:20:44):
Did you hear that Chelsea brought to Creative that she
wanted to play Alexa Bliss's doll like the character of it?

Speaker 2 (01:20:53):
I did not, But did you hear about like from
the w WE I'm told or whatever the show is
that one of the clips that's been going around was
plans for the Royal Rumble. Some one of the producers
pitched and this is the greatest pitch I've ever heard.
I'm so upset that it didn't happen. Was whoever is
twenty eighth and twenty ninth left in the in the

(01:21:15):
Royal Rumble, they eliminate each other and number thirty comes
in and just walks into the ring and claims the
Royal Rumble, and the person's like Chelsea Green and everybody
in the room liked it, and I was like, go.

Speaker 1 (01:21:31):

Speaker 2 (01:21:33):
This is like eight months ago and I'm screaming.

Speaker 1 (01:21:37):
I need it to be the twenty twenty sixth Royal
Rumble is what I The.

Speaker 2 (01:21:40):
Thing is, if they do it now, it's just like
it won't work.

Speaker 1 (01:21:43):
Yeah, because now we know about it.

Speaker 2 (01:21:46):
Yeah, but I was like, dude, that's the greatest pitch
I've ever heard. It's not as good.

Speaker 1 (01:21:53):
Did Freddy Prince come up with that?

Speaker 2 (01:21:54):
No, he has his own things, I know. But it
only works because it's Chelsea, because it's anybody else. Nobody
else that doesn't work does not make sense. Chelsea Green,
Chelsea Green, it works. Actually just watched it like it
was just a minute long video of her, and She's like,

(01:22:15):
I know what it like. I'm out there to entertain
the crowd. I don't I don't need to care about
winning or losing. I'm on the car to like you
need me to pour some dog food in and smash
a cake on my head, I'm gonna do it because
I'm gonna be out there making somebody laugh.

Speaker 1 (01:22:36):
Roster MVP.

Speaker 2 (01:22:37):
Yeah, I'm like. Chelsea Green is like And unfortunately she
she had to take some time off the internet because
she made some comments about Hull Cogan. Fuck you Hogan.

Speaker 1 (01:22:45):
Uh notice how we didn't talk about him dying anyway.
Back to the card for Night two of subber Slam,
Becky Lynch, You're Intercontinental Champion going into a No. DQ
no count out last chance match with Lyra Valkyria uh
for the Icy title. If Lynch wins, Lyra can no

(01:23:07):
longer challenge for the title as long as Lynch's champion.
Naomi versus Ria versus EO. Listen, I know, I know
a woman tag was last night was great. Yes, it
was fantastic. I know that we talked about the six
Pac TLC tag match, which is gonna be great. This
is my match of the night.

Speaker 2 (01:23:28):
Yeah yeah, I mean you know how you know my
feelings on Naomi. I love Naomi. Uh like her as
this unhinged, like I don't care character.

Speaker 1 (01:23:38):
It's perfect.

Speaker 2 (01:23:39):
I love that. And now she's on Raw where I
regularly watch every week. It's so much better. So good. Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:23:45):
And then to end the night, you'll get John Cena
versus Cody Rhoades in a street fight for the undisputed
WWE Championships and goings on. Uh so, uh, we'll stop,
We'll start the tag match.

Speaker 2 (01:24:02):
I think why it's need to retain.

Speaker 1 (01:24:03):
The Whyatt's need to retain absolutely.

Speaker 2 (01:24:06):
They're not like a championship kind of team that needs
a championship. I think this new Wyatt team I think
definitely is definitely different than the original Wyatt family obviously,
but I think this team can really. I mean, both

(01:24:27):
Joe Gacy and and Dexter Loomis are just two very
talented wrestlers who definitely deserve to have some sort of spotlight.
And as much like people like MotorCity Machine Guns and
d I y like Champa is one of my favorite
wrestlers in general ever, especially his his black Heart character

(01:24:48):
in NXT is one of the best villains and all
of w WE history that does not get enough recognition.

Speaker 1 (01:24:55):
What we can say is this is a stacked match
with edibly talented individual.

Speaker 2 (01:25:02):
Phraxium is stupid good.

Speaker 1 (01:25:04):
Too, stupid good. Uh, Angelo Dawkins and Montese Ford are
super underrated and I love them.

Speaker 2 (01:25:10):
I love them.

Speaker 1 (01:25:11):
I think they're fantastic. And then you have and Ray Phoenix.

Speaker 2 (01:25:14):
I mean, come on, who have just gelled into just
a really fun tag team who knew but they like
Andronny looks like he's having fun for.

Speaker 1 (01:25:25):
The first time since he started in w w E.

Speaker 2 (01:25:27):
Really, and then Phoenix is just doing Phoenix things.

Speaker 1 (01:25:31):
Uh, and he's just fun to watch, like he really
is absolutely fun to watch.

Speaker 2 (01:25:35):
But like uh, and unfortunately, uh get well soon. Adam Cole,
I don't know if your career is over or not.
I love you. Why Adam Cole? You know who one
of Joe Gacy's biggest fans is Adam Cole. He like really,
Adam Cole was fighting apparently for years to get Joe
Gacy into NXT WOW, because Joe can just joke and

(01:25:58):
go uh. He's a very talented wrestler, he just doesn't
have like a very like a WWE like poster look,
but Adam Adam Cole got him w w W.

Speaker 1 (01:26:09):
I believe we all twelve of these guys are just
stellar performers. So this match is going to be crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:26:17):
I love Dawson Ford. You mentioned them already, but I
love Dawkinson. They're just fun characters, whether or not they've
been heels or faces, They're just fun.

Speaker 1 (01:26:27):
And Montese Ford may have some of the best ability
of any wrestler in on the entire.

Speaker 2 (01:26:33):
Roster, and donc says like charisma.

Speaker 1 (01:26:36):
Super yeah, super athletic, super chrisma from Dawkins. So really
good match there. I think the White Six do retain,
like we talked about Dom versus a J I think
gets here.

Speaker 2 (01:26:47):
I think I think maybe well I guess no, it'd
be perfect storyline if both Judgment Day Women's lose and
Dom and Finn gets to hold it over the rest
of the team and they're the and then they lose,
and then they lose because I think I think they
have a championship match on Raw they do, it'd be perfect.

(01:27:11):
I think.

Speaker 1 (01:27:11):
So we're both going to aj Soliicica versus Jacob.

Speaker 2 (01:27:15):
That's that's a toss up. I have no idea.

Speaker 1 (01:27:17):
That's a toss up for me. I could see it
go either way very easily. Either way works, either way
works either way, We're going to get.

Speaker 2 (01:27:24):
A good match, and Lyra is going to be a banger.

Speaker 1 (01:27:27):
It's going to be a banger. I think. I think
Becky retains okay with that because Bailey turns heel.

Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
I'm just wondering how that works because has been trying
to be a face, but I see her more as
a heel and I see Becky is both a heel.
But yeah, I guess it just feels like too Healey.
All of them feel too Healey. But no, I'm down
with your your your idea.

Speaker 1 (01:28:00):
Naomi versus Rhea versus EO. I've told you my thoughts
I think they're setting up Jade, Bianca and.

Speaker 2 (01:28:06):
Naomi Survivor series. Maybe.

Speaker 1 (01:28:08):
Yeah, I think Naomi retains as much as I love
Ria and EO.

Speaker 2 (01:28:15):
No Survivor series. I know. Uh, Bianca is still she's
she is still like friendly with Jade, right or have
they had any acts some? What?

Speaker 1 (01:28:27):
I mean, they don't have much interaction.

Speaker 2 (01:28:29):
Okay, Jade versus Naomi at at Survivor Series Champion versus
Champion with Bianca as the special guest referee. I think
she just I think Bianca just refereed something at Evolution.
But she's got the She's got the top already.

Speaker 1 (01:28:45):
I mean, I'm sure it's in the closet already.

Speaker 2 (01:28:48):
It's yeah, just to get her on the card, and
unless they do the triple threat, then yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:28:54):
Uh, and then we get through the closing match of
the night. John Cena versus Cody Rhodes in a street fight. Man,
I don't see how you can take the title off
of John Cena.

Speaker 2 (01:29:07):
Not yet.

Speaker 1 (01:29:08):
You don't do it yet.

Speaker 2 (01:29:09):
If you do it at all, let's I you know,
I actually wouldn't be mad if he retired with it.

Speaker 1 (01:29:17):
Yeah, I think.

Speaker 2 (01:29:18):
That I just feel that way.

Speaker 1 (01:29:20):
I think there are good things to come out of.
If John Cena rides off into the sunset with the title,
no one takes it from him.

Speaker 2 (01:29:30):
Yeah, we get a new new titles.

Speaker 1 (01:29:34):
Yeah, we get new title.

Speaker 2 (01:29:36):
I'm sure they have something cooked up.

Speaker 1 (01:29:38):
I also I also feel like there's still a baby
Face turn or oh yeah, I think so rare and
we could see it this weekend, the rare double turn,
the the John Cena to face Cody Roads to heal.

Speaker 2 (01:29:53):
You think WWE is ready to do that to Cody? No,
I don't.

Speaker 1 (01:29:59):
I'm just saying it's done. Well.

Speaker 2 (01:30:02):
Yeah, I think I think it should be. I think
now is the time. But is WWE willing to do it?

Speaker 1 (01:30:08):
I don't think they have the cojones to do it.
I've seen anything from Creative the last four months that
they are not willing to take risks right now.

Speaker 2 (01:30:21):
They're too tentative right now.

Speaker 1 (01:30:23):
So all in all, I think this is one of
the better cards I've seen for a non Mania.

Speaker 2 (01:30:31):
I think it's a good. Yeah. I am excited for
almost every single match on the card.

Speaker 1 (01:30:37):
I am excited. I am excited for all but one
match on the card.

Speaker 2 (01:30:42):
Yeah. Uh, I would just wish there was a Shamus
versus Rusev match. That'd be the only thing that I
would I would if.

Speaker 1 (01:30:53):
There was a Shamous versus Russev match. Do you think
we would get El Grande Americano and whoever? The guy
that about last night was Pete Dunn, So I mean
Ludwig Kaiser and Pete Dunn, both who have been in
the shameless orbit over the last year.

Speaker 2 (01:31:13):
Yeah, but I guess you would have to. So I
guess I'm thankful for not getting that match on the card.
God'm saying, Okay, all right, Nick, any other final thoughts.

Speaker 1 (01:31:28):
No, go see Naked Gun this weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:31:30):
Go see together as well.

Speaker 1 (01:31:32):
Yeah, you got a couple of homework assignments everyone.

Speaker 2 (01:31:35):
Yeah, I suggest all of the movies that I've recommended
because and Nick. This year so far, I am on
movie one and fifty one, so my next movie you'd
be one fifty two. It's it's been fun, it has.
I did try and watch like three hundred movies one

(01:31:59):
year and I did not get there, and I'm probably
not going to get there this year, but I am
trying trying. Yeah, I got like nine movies done this
past week. That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:32:11):
Where can they find you on the social talk. Oh sorry, I.

Speaker 2 (01:32:14):
Was also counting some like documentaries and stuff like our
long documentaries camp.

Speaker 1 (01:32:19):
Where can they find you on social sir?

Speaker 2 (01:32:20):
You can find me at Andrew lz Calm on Twitter
and Instagram. You can find me at just Andrew l
Z on letterbox and TikTok. I need to get back
on my TikTok and stuff like that. But actually I
made a list of the because the Hollywood Reporter put
out the top twenty five horror movies of the twenty
first century, and I had some disagreements. No shit, they

(01:32:42):
had like presence on there and like it follows was
like number nine when it should be number one. I'm
not going to get too mad at them. They had
Under the Skin number one, and I have that, like
my number five. But yeah, actually I think I've got

(01:33:04):
my list raight. Yeah, but you can find me on
letterbox and stuff like Okay, yeah it follows twenty eight
days later his number two, Evil Dead is number three,
get Outs four, Under the Skin is five, gotcha? Let
the right one in six. The only horror comedy on
here though, Sean of the Dead. Everything else is mostly.

Speaker 1 (01:33:29):
Like horror, horror, horror, horror adjacent but.

Speaker 2 (01:33:33):
Like Barbarians thirteen trained to Bossan's fifteen, both Great Green
Rooms twenty two the others twenty four, that needs recognition,
so it does. So all right, Nick, where can they
find you?

Speaker 1 (01:33:52):
You can find me on the twitters at Superman Underscore Papa,
and you can find the show at was Underscore the
podcast on Twitter as well. Please like, share, subscribe, and

and should like and subscribe, and you know.

Speaker 2 (01:34:22):
What, I'm going to try and do some promotion on
this one because I always forget. But we do get
a decent amount of downloads a week. It just depends
on if I do promote it or not, so I
will make a conscious effort. I am also Nick on
my letterbox. I am getting closer to finding out that

(01:34:43):
I've watched two thousand movies in my lifetime. I'm still
finding some that I have not that I have not reviewed,
that I've seen, but I've gone through so many years
trying to find as many movies as I've seen in
my life.

Speaker 1 (01:34:57):
Love it.

Speaker 2 (01:34:58):
So I'm at eighteen ninety six, that I know that
I've seen all right, nick I love you, love me too.

Speaker 1 (01:35:06):
You get to bed, all right, Get to the theater, yes,
