Speaker 1 (00:19):
Welcome Back to was the podcast exclusively for people who,
on their wedding night had group sex. They weren't involved,
but they could hear it through the wall. We're your
host is always.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
I'm Nick, I'm Andrea Zi, and I mean perfect. I
guess my head was somewhere else. Whenever you before the podcast,
you told me, oh, that inspired this, and I was like, Okay,
that's not where I was thinking.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
It's the hundredth greatest movie of the twenty first century?
Speaker 2 (00:51):
Drew which movie is that super Bad? It's I I
think I put it in my top ten because I
think it's the most I think it's the most important
teen comedy of the twenty first century.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Easily, easily, without a doubt.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
I can't say easy. I wouldn't say easily because like
I think Ladybird is very good, but I think that's
more dramedy.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
That's definitely more dramedy.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
But there's there's been super bad.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
You have to think of it this way for those
of you who have stuck around for the first forty
five seconds of this podcast and have no idea what
the fuck we're talking about. New York Times came out
with the top one hundred best movies of the twenty
first century. Superbad was listed as the first entry, number
one hundred on that list. Now, what I'm saying is
(01:48):
why I think it is bar none and irrevocably the
most important teen comedy of the twenty first century is
Twofold one. It it gives us the first real script
from Seth and.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Evan, You're not wrong, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Who have gone on to do amazing things. We've got
the greatest TV show that you and I have probably
seen in decades at this point in the studio. But
but second, it spawned the careers of so many people
as well, it really did. And then I will just
(02:29):
say a third, it's it's its own genre almost like
we have not had or we have had many movies
that have tried to copy it since.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
It was the evolution of the jud Fire. It was
like that that it's where jud movies kind of needed.
Like Judge didn't direct this movie, but it's obviously it's
jud guys.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Seth Belivie executive produced it though probably.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
But there they are jud guys. There are people who
kind of learned under Judatau And yeah, I think it's
just like he found two very very important talented people.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
And Jonah and Michael.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yeah, they and he's been Seth Rogan has been talking
about it lately. He did the He's done Variety in
a couple other publications where he's talking with other actors
and they didn't want Michael, Sarah and and and Jonah
Hill because they didn't see it. And he's like you,
like I, I think we have some really great actors
(03:39):
here that if you just trust us, this is gonna
be great. This is gonna work. I don't think he'd
ever just say great. I think Seth would just say
this is gonna work. And actually I think it's my
first off of my top ten, which I think that
was the first trend that came out was what was
your because they were trying to compile the best one
(04:00):
hundred movies. Babylon was my number one movie. I figured
Eternal Sunshine number two.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Yeah, yeah, Eternal Sunshine is so good, and I believe
it's number seven on the New York Times list.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Lands three, Parasite four, Avatar five, Oppenheimer six, Poor Thing seven,
Bastard and Glorious, Bastard's eight, almost Famous nine, and Coco's ten.
For me, I think that's correct, I think.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
That's that's no, that's a that's a great list, an
absolutely fantastic list. In fact, New York Times did put
Parasite as number one, and I can't really argue against it.
I after you and I took so long to come
around to watch it, and.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
It was great. It was just like, there's no intimidation
needed on that movie. Just watch it. It's great, Like
it's great.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Brilliant, but no. The thing I do love about super Bad,
and it can be said about all of the Appatoo
and adjacent movies, is just the amount of quotes that
I use in like everyday life over and over again.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Is I think my favorite one from that movie?
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Yeah, I was. I watched this last week. In fact,
I watched super Bed last week and when Jonah uh
Jojah looks at Michael, Sarah goes, I'm sorry that the
Conan brothers don't direct the porn I watch, I just
lose it every damn time that entire sequence about about
(05:42):
buying a porn website when he goes off to college.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Uh, what's the website that they're trying to get?
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Its website?
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Yeah, thank you, I was. That's the exact one I
was going for.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
But you know what an indelible Emma Stone in this
movie as well.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
We all fell in love with her at this moment.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yes, if you didn't fall in love with Emma Stone
during this movie, then I don't know what your problem is.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
There's no hope for you.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
But we also we also got the line of you
know how many foods are shaped like dicks?
Speaker 2 (06:19):
God, he had a he had a lunch box full
of dicks. It was like, I can't remember how he
what he named it.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Big veiny monstrosities man.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
And Square one is one thousand percent my favorite one
because it's like I would honestly like I would have.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
That frame up in my office.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
I would frame that the square one is perfect. It's
the it's the funniest, it's the funniest monest gag in
the entire movie.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Yeah, and then when uh, it's where Joe says, so
you guys on MySpace or what?
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Like?
Speaker 1 (06:58):
I also left at that every time.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
It's eleven thirty seven, y what?
Speaker 1 (07:04):
What? But Yeah, super Bad is just it's a unique
view of that time of my life as well. Like
it's just I think fondly of that time, you know,
comedies were coming out in theaters more frequently during that
time as well, Like it's just it's a special movie.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
It really is. And like, Okay, out of the top
one hundred movies, how many do you think I've seen
or did you do your list or.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
I did my list? Yes, okay, I'm gonna go for
fifty seven.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Well, actually, you know what, I got a kind of
a perfect number. Okay, forty two.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Forty two.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Didn't even think about that until just.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Now, like the universe and everything.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Yeah, so I still have not seen fifty eight movies,
and some of them may upset people. Actually I almost
went and saw one in theater because it was the anniversary,
but I didn't have a chance to when it's already gone.
I wanted to see Broke Back Mountain because I've still
never seen it.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
So good, so good.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
I want to watch Boyhood. Twelve Years of Slave is
a movie that intimidates me, but like I just because
I know there's one scene.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
And it's very good it is, it isn't intimidating for sure.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Spotlight's a movie I really need to watch.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Oh dude, excellent film.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
The easiest movie that I could watch because I do
own a copy of it. It's a little Miss Sunshine.
I've just never You've never watched it. I just never
watched it. I just never never took the time. I
know Past Lives is on a streaming service that I
subscribe to, so I do need to watch it. A
movie that I really really want to watch that I
(08:55):
just haven't taken the time. To the Worst Person in
the World. It came out just a couple of years ago.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
I have not seen that. I want to see it.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
I really want to watch that. I'm surprised Ocean's Eleven
is on here, but I guess I got to watch
it now.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
I love Ocean's Eleven. It's so good.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
And Her Her is another movie that I really need
to watch.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
San same. I was glad to see you. Let the
Right One In made the list.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Yes, I think that movie is so beautiful.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
It is absolutely beautiful.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Kill Bill, Kill Bill made the list.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Kill Bill made the list.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Awesome.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
I'm very partial partial to the hurt locker that made
the list. Brother, Yeah, oh, brother made the list. I
really need to see Tar With with Kate Blanchette. I
have not seen it yet. I've heard it is brilliant.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
You know, a comedy that I'm really happy made it.
I'm happy this Christopher Guest movie made it. Best in Show, Dude.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
I could literally talk about forty for forty five minutes
about how great best and she is.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Best and Show I do think is actually probably his
best one. I've I've watched Waiting for Guffman. It just
didn't get me.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Waiting for Gufman doesn't do it for me, I'll be
honest with you. But bestin Choke does. And Eugene Levy
and Catherine O'Hara with the shoes, Oh god.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
It's the simplest gag. It's the simplest and it's the
easiest thing to remember from that movie. But just him
with the shoes is just so funny. It's just the simplest,
smallest gag. But I think it's funny.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Is really good in the movie. Jennifer Coolidge. Coolidge is hilarious.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
It's like it's it's the it's all of the Christopher
Guests regulars, and they all kill it. Yes, Amile, I think,
which is probably if I'm being the most honest, I
think it's the prettiest movie made in that in Babylona
are the prettiest one.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
I would disagree with you because in the fifty somewhere
I can't remember is Pans Labyrinth.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
I know that's that's one of them. I was thinking
of too.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
And Pans Labyrinth is probably the most gorgeous film on
the entire list. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Amily is fucking pretty. Oh, it's gorgeously is pretty.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
But there is something about Gdt's Pants Labyrinth that is
just Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
It's it's mad.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Genre, genre defying and defying at the same time. It's brilliant.
I was a little, uh surprised to see Borat so
high on the list. It's it was above Pans Labyrinth.
If memory serves me correct.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
I have never seen Borat. Oh okay, Uh, It's just
like that kind of comedy still just does not gat you.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
No, I get it. Up was on the list, you
know you were talking about Coco earlier. Up was on
the list, And it is just it has a special
place in my heart. There's something that just gets me
every time I watch that movie. It doesn't matter how
many times I've watched it.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Even whenever you get to the dog's flying airplanes, it's
it's it's great. Bridesmaids is really high on the list. Yeah,
that's cool.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
What's upon a time in Hollywood is on there?
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Of course that that movie is just a love letter
to the industry. I am very love letter to to
Bruce Lee.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
But no, I am rather surprised that almost famous was
as low as it is. Cameron Crows like seminal film.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
It really is that that's such a that's such a
like it's a great movie, and it's just like there's
so many moments in that movie that are great. It's
just like, I guarantee you if you talk to anybody,
everybody's going to bring up the Hold Me Closer, Tiny Dancer,
But everybody else has like a favorite scene from that
movie that is not that, And honestly that's the movie.
(12:57):
Like I fell in love with Billy Croud up in
that movie, fully crap. He is just like excellent, charming
as shit. And then you got Zoey Deschanel being like
a kind of a cool older sister, which like and
she gives him all the records. I mean, it's oh,
I know it's the actor I can't remember who plays
(13:22):
the actual kid, but his younger self is Michael Agorano,
and I love Michael Angarano. He's just one of those
disguise who's been around for so many years. Just a
big fan of him.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
I was happy to see the Royal Tenenbaums made the list.
It is my favorite Wes Anderson film. It was also
sharing the same section of the list that Grand Budapest
Hotel was on, which is very good as well. Crouching
Tiger Hidden Dragon was very high and it definitely deserve
(14:00):
to be higher in my opinion. You know, Crouching Tiger's
probably in the top ten for me from the twenty
first century because you know, this was, if memory serves
me correct, this was pre Matrix. I want to say, uh,
and it gave us some just stunning.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Well, if it was pre Matrix, No, it wasn't.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Matrix is ninety nine, that's right, So this was post Matrix.
I apologize, but it still gave us stunning visuals and
just acrobatics. The fighting in it was fantastic. I really
feel like it should have been higher.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Up, you know what. I really feel like Moonri's Kingdom
should be should be on the list. And I wouldn't
ever fight for a for a Wes Anderson movie, but
I think Moonrise Kingdom is just such a such a
good movie. It's like, I think that's probably his better
like narrative movie Royal tant and Mom's Grand Boot the
(15:00):
best and I think that and then Rushmore is more
of a normal movie. But yeah, if we're going with
his like art shit, I think Moonrise Kingdom is just
like it's just the story, like it's not focusing primarily
on all the like the adult actors. He finds two
(15:20):
new actors and focuses on them, And yeah, I appreciated that. Well. Actually,
I think that's why I like Budapest too, because it's
not like his typical actors as the leads.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Very true. Yeah, so I pointed log it up to
tell you I've seen fifty eight of them, so the
inverse of yours. But there are so many movies that
out of the forty two that are left, there are
quite a few that I definitely want to see.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Oh My life is embarrassing.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
I was very happy to see Get Out be in
the top ten. It is a phenomenal movie. I think
Mad Max Fury Road got got blocked from the top ten.
I think it definitely deserved to be in the top ten.
But The Social Network was a defining film for a
lot of people. So I get it. You know, it's
(16:13):
a it's a Fincher film, Man as a Vision.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
You know what I wish had made it instead of
Minority Report. If I'm if I were to switch like
a Spielberg, I think you switched my No, I think
you switched Minority Report with West Side Story. I could
see that because I like I like Minority Report. But
it's not like even a Spielberg movie that I often
(16:39):
think about. Yeah, there's some great visuals in that movie.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
There are, but.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
If you go off of just reference every like you
could find little the references of that Spielberg uses in
his West Side Story, and it's just like he just
he puts his Spielberg spin on it, and it's one
of the best movies.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
Yeah. So go check out the New York Times Best
one hundred Films of the twenty first Century. It's actually
free to get on there and look at it. You
can track what movies you've watched. You don't have to
sign into The New York Times or buy a subscription.
It's completely free.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
It's it's eye opening to see what movies made it,
and then to see what movies you have and haven't seen.
You seen. I have not.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Sorry derailed you there.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
No, it's okay. I would definitely recommend checking it out though.
In movie news right.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
Now, Punch Trump Loved, Bunch Trunk Love did. Maybe it
would is movies right next to you.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Uncut Gyms and Bunch Drunk Love both made the list.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Two movies I have not watched yet.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Both excellent films.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
You should watch them. And The Master. There's like, there's
three three movies right there that all work that and well,
actually this doesn't work with the The Master, Punch, Runk Glove,
Uncle Jim's Anatomy of a Fall, which was recent I
do in the zone of interest I still need to watch.
So you were ready to move on? I was still
(18:12):
still No.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
That's okay. In other movie news, we are getting a
live action Street Fighter in twenty twenty six. No, this
is not nineteen ninety four. You're not traveling through time.
We're getting a new Street Fighter live action film. And
we have some some casting tentative casting news. We have
(18:33):
one that is officially cast, and that is everyone's favorite
quasi villain, I guess. David desmalchon Is has been tapped
to play em Bison in the film.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
I'm into it. I'm into it.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
I'm in.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
I don't know if he's going to put on the
muscle because he's like a dedicated doff, but I think
he's I believe in him, like he's been like one
of our character actors that like he's like a Nolan
character actor, which like who who can say that they're
a Christopher Nolan character actor?
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Yeah, David, Yeah, you know, he's got some big shoes
to fill. Uh Rold Julia was the only good part
of the nineteen ninety four Street Fighter film.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
But you didn't you didn't like what's his name damn?
Playing an American uh a military leader?
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Hey, thanks all kinds man. I just not a not
a huge fan of Van Dam's guile or Kylie Mino's
Gammy personally, but uh Rol Juliet was fucking brilliant in
that film. I don't anybody saying I.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
Grew up not knowing that was a bad movie.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
Listen, I didn't either. Okay, I was an adult when
I found out that that was a bad movie.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
Yeah, but see, I think there's a difference between that
being bad and like, uh, Double Dragon being bad.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
I mean Double Dragon was unapologetically bad.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
Yeah, but like I had even that I know, but
like especially what's his name, the the the guy who
gets all transformed and stuff. But yeah, I knew it
was like bad, but you know what, I watched it.
I rented the hell lot of Double Dragon.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
You're looking at the guy that rented Acevin Tura Pet
Detective from a videos local video store and watched it
four times in the same day as a child, Like
I'll watch anything.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
When I was a kid, I was renting Star Kid.
I had all the Ninja Turtles. Don't worry, I didn't
need to rent those. But yeah, I was just I
like bad movies. I think, like I don't think of
like like even like Street Fighter from like ninety four
or whatever. I don't think it's that bad. I think
it's like it's kind of bad. There's not enough martial
(21:08):
arts in retrospect. There's a little bit, which is what like,
hopefully that's what we get out of this, because I
think did the most recent Mortal Kombat at least have
a decent amount of martial arts?
Speaker 1 (21:20):
Yeah, okay, we should be getting the second one of
that Mortal Kombat set next year. Yeah that's all I need.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
That's all I need out of these movies. I just
need a little bit of, like some good choreography. Just
give me some good martial arts action. I love it, man.
That's why I saw Karate Kid Legends and they and
they served, they gave it to me.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
I sent this to Drew offline. But we found out
that Christopher Nolan's Odyssey, that is set to hit Imax
screens in twenty twenty six, is the first film to
be one hundred percent shot on Imax cameras. And the
fact is Nolan went to the freaking head of the
(22:05):
company and was like, you need to fix your stuff.
You've got to fix your shit because I want to
shoot one hundred percent of my next film on your cameras.
So like they made them apparently more portable, quieter, Like
they evolved their technology specifically for Christopher Nolan, which is
(22:26):
pretty freaking cool.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
I think they had gotten to the point where they're like, Okay,
we we do make the best lenses, we do make
the best rig and I think they just kind of stopped.
They probably just stopped Laurels. Yeah, they probably just stopped
trying to innovate and then and make their own their
own product better and Christopher Nolan's like, dude, you got
(22:47):
to evolve with the times. Man, we gotta like we're
we're making big movies now. Yeah, and I'm making a
movie on Homer's Day Odyssey.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
It's one of the most stacked casts I've ever seen
in my.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
Life since since Oppenheimer.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
It's even more stacked than Oppenheimer.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
I haven't really looked at the cast list.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
It's insane. Take take a look. It's insane.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
I'll find out. I know Tom, Tom.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Holland John Matt Damon.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
That's all I need to know.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
Uh hey, you know what, I'm into it. I'm not
going to miss it like I missed Dunkirk in theater,
I'm not going to miss another Christopher Nolan.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
And no, I'm a I'm a Nolan Truther just like you.
The man is he's our generation Spielberg basically.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
But he did Tenant, right, that's him? Yes, Okay, what's
his name? So I I I haven't rewatched Tenant in
a couple of years now, but uh, Eric Voss from
New York I.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
Finally get Tenant.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
He's like, I haven't got it. I can't get code
two years and it takes two hours. Like, dude, if
it takes you to hours to tell me how you
cracked Tenants, Like, I'm gonna watch it. I'm gonna watch it,
and then I'm gonna rewatch Tenant. But uh, yeah, Christopher
Nolan rarely misses Tenant's not really a miss. It's just
(24:14):
not it. It was people weren't ready for it. I
don't think Chris was ready for it. I think it.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
I think it was amazing. I loved it. In other
movie news, uh, we have confirmation that the Devilwares product
to a sequel. I don't think any of us knew
was something that's ever gonna get. It's been rumored for
a while, but it actually started filming.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
I think that's been on the docket for a for
a while now. But yeah, I mean I still haven't
seen the first one, Okay, I like first like, it's
just one of those movies that's just missed me.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
Uh, maybe I'll watch it, who knows. I mean, I've
love movies and I'll probably end up watching it. But yeah,
well we'll get there when we get there. But no,
I'm excited because like I like Anne Hathaway. I don't
know if what's her name? If Meryl Streep is going
to be back in it. Obviously you had Emily Blunt,
(25:17):
Danley Tucci and not Milo Vintimilia.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
What's his name? The guy from Entourage has been has
been confirmed that he's Adrian Grenier. Grenier is back. I
think you kind of had to have John Krasinsky in it,
just like for a second, because he's obsessed with the
movie and he's married to Emily Blunt, and yeah, he's
(25:43):
I do know that about John Krasinski. I think he
would die to be in that movie. Yeah, but yeah,
I'm excited. I think yeah it it took over a
Marvel's spot that got moved recently. It took over its date,
So that's how I knew about that. But yeah, I
like it shares the name of my favorite band who
(26:05):
was actually playing here in Phoenix, like they were here
they played two hours ago. Oh okay, it was It
was a like I wouldn't have made it, gotcha, Like
I got off work at four. They played at four
forty five and it was forty It was like forty
five minutes away. I would have made it.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
I'm excited because today we got the the very exciting
trailer for Edgar Wright's remake of The Running Man starring
Glenn Powell with Josh Brolin in it as well. It
it looks fantastic, I mean a couple of times today.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Yeah, I'm gonna believe in anything Edgar Wright makes. And
I think Katie O'Brien's in it as well. I think
reteaming up with Glenn Powell from Twisters, so it's cool
that he's I think she's also from Texas, so I
think that's just kind of like they're they're kind of
just bonded. But yeah, I'm excited for I've seen the
(27:05):
first two seconds of it. I'm very excited for it.
I'm excited about anything with Edgar Wright. And apparently also
Michael Sayah's in it as well. It's the first time
he's been in an Edgar Wright movie. There's only been
like two since Scott Pilgrim. But I do love Edgar
right man. That dude doesn't miss either. Last Night in
Zoho is just like one of my low key favorite
(27:28):
horror movies recently. I love Thomas and McKenzie and uh
and Andy Taylor joined that a lot. That's just and
Matt Smith is so like creepy good in that too,
And it's got just a really great, great twist at
the end. Sorry to spoil it for anybody that like
didn't know there was gonna be a twist, but they're
(27:49):
like legitimately one of my favorite Like it's a beautifully
shot horror movie just because it's Edgar.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Yeah, Edgar Wright knows how to use the camera to
his advantage.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
But Thomas plays like distraught so well. So a big
fan of Thomason McKenzie.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
So. The only other piece of movie movie specific news
not related to as like a specific thing that you know,
movie that we want to talk about right now is
Brad Pitt's f One, which Drew has seen and he
will talk about in a little bit. But it demolished
the like international box Office upon its release, Like I
(28:34):
just beat the ship out of the IK.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
Tell you why, Nick, as you as you do know,
I go to the movies very often. I go to
imaxes very often. Nick. This was like this was the
Thursday opening, and man, I have seen or I don't know,
(28:57):
if this was Thursday, I could probably looked. It was
the most diverse audience I've ever been a part of. Yeah,
Like there were whereas every nationality in that in that
that room, I saw a lot like this is like
to be culturally appropriate, A ton of Indians as in
(29:21):
people from India. There were just like a group of
them at my showing that I believe we're all part
of the like the same F one fans because they
were there for the show. And it was like it
was great because like I don't know anything about F one,
but like I enjoyed seeing like a very diverse audience.
(29:45):
Like I was like I was sitting next to like
people who I don't know if they even like F one,
but they liked racing and so h so that was
that was it was. And also, dude, it's just a
beautifully shot movie. Brad Pitt, Like it's just another excuse
for Brad Pitt to be uh, to be pretty somewhere
(30:05):
and cool. I'm like, I approve. But also I I
listened to the to the Directors Guild podcast today with
the director of this movie. He also did, h I
should look up like he did Tron Legacy.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Awesome. So such a damp good movie.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Yeah, he was like an intern for I want to say,
like David Fincher maybe, And that's how he got no, No,
that's how he ended up getting like he used to
do shorts. He got like that's how he got into
the business. And then he was just brought on to
David Fincher or another director's like a giant director. I
(30:49):
believe it was David Fincher like Pocket. Basically he's like, hey,
I need you, I want you to be like part
of my production company. He kind of was unemployed for
like eighteen months, but he had done enough like shorts
and commercials to be fine, are okay, But eventually he
just like he got tron aries because I believe David
(31:10):
Fincher couldn't do it. And he's like, I think this
guy his name is Joseph Kazinski. He did Top On Maverick.
He did Oblivion, which isn't I don't think it's a
very good movie, but it's beautifully shot, but which I
felt bad whenever they're like, oh, in Oblivion, they like
the director's guild was talking about Oblivion. I was like,
(31:31):
I watched the movie recently. I did not enjoy that much.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
It is stunning visually, but man, that story is awful, and.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
I believe he wrote it too, so I felt that.
But I I like F one was really cool, beautiful,
like I said, beautifully shot damnson Idriss I believe is
the kid's name in it. Yeah, he is charming. I
think he's kind of been the running to be bond Javeyard.
(32:04):
Bar Dam's a lot of fun. He's like Harveyard. Bardam's
having a lot of fun right now.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
And I enjoy that everything he does he has fun with.
It seems like going back to that list of the
top one hundred, like No Country for Old Man was
on there, and I don't know if there's ever been
an actor that chewed the scenery as much as Bardam
did in that film.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
I will let you know Kerrie Condon, famous from Banshees
of Interser and for rejecting Barry Cogan. Her rejection skills
are only so powerful, So.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
Like no one rejects Brad Pitt.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
She has she has some really good rejection skills, but
they're only just so powerful. But but she's great and
it's a really it's a fun movie to see. Oh yeah.
What I was going to get to about the about
the shooting of the movie, like on day three is
(33:03):
when the writers and the actors went on strike. Oh
but it worked out in the director's favor because literally
he just went and shot all the racing during that
that time, which did not involve the actors at all. Oh,
he just went and got almost like ninety five percent
(33:26):
of the racing done and it worked out. And it's
like one of the few movies that truly like the.
Speaker 4 (33:33):
Director from the Two Strikes because he had already written
it and he was basically just basing it off of
the nine races that were like how they schedule f
So he was like.
Speaker 2 (33:48):
This kind of works out, and he ended up just
getting like they created a lot of like cool rigs
and stuff for the to really capture the the racing
this movie. So it also like apparently the sound design
doing everything like that was the biggest nightmare for this movie,
(34:11):
like because recording on site and then trying to mix
it later it has to be a true nightmare. But yeah,
I like to that for one. I think it was
really cool. They need to do a second one. It's
good that they're going to do a second one, and
they need to have Tom Cruise. I don't know, was
he like Days of He was in Days of Thunder,
(34:34):
But what was his character's name? Cold Trickle, Cold Trickle.
I don't know if he could work in the like
they could work him into this story.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
You're you're talking about this. They are. They are in
talks to do a second Days of Thunder movie right now, so.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
They just just make f F one two with Cold Trickle.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
Like Brandon t back together, Brad.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
Said that he wants to do another movie with Tom,
but as long as they're back on the ground, he
doesn't want to do space stuff. Oh okay, just because
like he also just doesn't want to do the stunts
that that Tom would have to do in space. And
even though Brad Pitt made ad Asteroid, which is a
movie in space, but I guess that's not a lot
of space stuff in that movie. It's just mostly the
(35:27):
concepts of space. Let's see the concepts of space, the
psychology space. I guess if you if people were to
like be out there living and stuff. I don't know.
It's a move. It's a Yeah, that's a perfect way
to describe it. It's a movie. I saw it in theater. Yeah,
(35:50):
I don't know what it is. I'd have to rewatch
it too, maybe get it.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
It's it's tended all over again.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
Yeah, no, see, I got Tenant. I understood Tenant. As
I was watching, I was like, I mean I heard
all the discourse online and I was like, I this
it's if you pay attention, it makes sense. Yeah, he
kind of like he missedirectually got a bunch, But I mean,
if you just pay attention, if you can find follow it. Uh.
Did we talk about the naked gun poster on Uh? No,
(36:23):
we have not, Dude, that is the funniest poster. I
think it's poster of the years so far. This poster
was not made with AI and it's just like yeah,
and then like it's it's so perfect. There's like a
bunch of hands around him. I think with Pamela Anderson too.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
There's a different one. Yeah, that's a different one.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
Yeah, it's I think there's one of.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
Liam Neeson pulling the Jean Claude van dam with doing
the splits.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
I'm excited for this movie. I'm ready for it.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
I've I've turned around on this movie. I'm ready for it.
I'm I'm excited.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
I know they didn't do an episode of The Lonely
Island this week just because Akiva is actively working on this.
On the final cut of this movie, so I'm super
super excited for it. Yeah, I I don't know why.
Jurassic Park is out this week. Like I said, I
have seen it. I think you should too. I think
(37:21):
it's probably the best Jurassic Park movie since Jurassic Park.
Maybe it's maybe the first Jurassic World was better, but
I think those ones is really good. I think it's
definitely top three. And if you're if you've been looking
for something like ignore some of the like because people
can't be happy online. People are just like already pre
(37:45):
crapping on this movie. I don't know why. It's kind
of like people already preparing like your Snyder people who
are preparing to to review bomb Superman. I think people
just want to hate these super these Jurassic Park movies,
these Drastic World movies, and this one. Like I said,
I think it's back on track. I think this one
(38:07):
like they're going to continue to make these Jurassic World movies.
They're gonna find a way, because life finds a way.
They're gonna find a way to make more Jurassic Park movies.
This one's at least good. Yeah, enjoy it. Like there's
some parts that don't make sense. Okay, dude, it's a
movie where dinosaurs live among us. Have fun with the movies.
(38:32):
Movies are supposed to be fun.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Suspense your disbelief for just a little bit while you're
in the theater.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
Go see Jurassic World Rebirth. It's fun. I lost my pen. Yeah,
that's out this week. Out next week, though we talked
about it at length. Last week is Superman, which I
do actually I have my ticket for I'm very I mean,
James Gunn, like, did you see what they did? Was
(38:57):
it in Paris this morning?
Speaker 1 (39:00):
I was in London, No, they were London was two
days ago.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
I think with the suspended Superman just kind of covering. Yeah,
it's great. Look I didn't see a lot of the
Kate moving, but I think that was probably intentional. I
think it'd probably be too dangerous to have it that
high up. And yeah, but really great, great marketing for
this movie.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
Yeah, the marketing has been fantastic. If you follow James
Gunn on any of his socials, he's been sharing shorts
of Crypto Ye that have been fantastic.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
He did similar things with Guardians three, with the with
the young Rocket and stuff like showing you how they
were going to move and yeah, he's like he does
his own little bit of mini marketing for the movie.
I think Reese with Reese the guy with the movie camera,
has been a big part of their marketing too, because
(39:59):
like all of the stuff James has been posting, I
feel like that was all shot with Reese.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
Likely. I really like what they've been doing from a
marketing perspective. They've been releasing these like short vignettes where
the cast has been like interacting with extras on the set,
and like it shows, you know, maybe it's artificial, maybe
it's not, but it shows that David corn Sweat was
(40:26):
absolutely the most perfect pick to play Clark Kent. Like
the world needs hope now. The world needs hope more
than anything right now, and if a little movie about
a superhero wearing tights can bring that, then, by god,
let's do it.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
Did you see the Oh God?
Speaker 1 (40:50):
It just it fills me with joy knowing that me
as a kid watching seventy eight Superman is finally getting
a Superman that matches what I grew up with, what
the comics have shown. This alien who comes to our world,
(41:10):
who's the most powerful being on our world, but all
he wants to do is be the best for humanity.
And it's just I think that's what we're going to
get on the screen.
Speaker 2 (41:20):
He's doing important stuff. I'm a big fan. Also, what's
his name? The Nicholas Holt like talked about how he
auditioned for for and then he walks out and he
just sees Corns. They saw each other the same day
that they both auditioned. It's like, oh that yeah, that's
(41:41):
the right guy for this. And yeah, it's just I
remember seeing Quorn saw after the first time in Pearl
and I was like, man, that guy like I had
never seen him in anything before, and I was like,
I think that guy has got kind of a future.
I felt the opposite of the way I saw felt
(42:02):
when I saw Jacob BELORDI yeah, that makes sense, Jacob
BELORDI like, obviously I see that he like he people
are gonna be like, he's going to be appealing to people.
But I just don't see it the talent. I just like,
I know, I apologize if that's rude or anything. I
just don't see it. But with Corn Sweat, I just
(42:22):
like I see that man.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
He's a good looking dude.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
It's not even that I think he he's got.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
A right a toss about him. Yeah, Like when he speaks,
you feel that it's going to be important.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
Yeah. How do you feel about the first edit of
the the first trailer that came out Whenever he gets
hit in the back of the head with a can and.
Speaker 1 (42:45):
He bla flinches and then in the second in the
re edited version, he does nothing. I think both of
them have a place. I do like the re edit though, Okay, okay,
I do like the re edit. You got you gotta understand,
super Man is a godlike character who has to hold
back every moment of every day because he feels like
(43:06):
he's living in a world made of cardboard and if
he slips up once, someone will die. So like, that's
the way I have to That's the way I've always
looked at Superman. I thought, like, there are few moments
in the comics and in the media landscape where Superman
gets to let loose, but that's against like the most
(43:29):
powerful beings in the DC universe.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
Yeah, but he can't flinch.
Speaker 1 (43:34):
Yeah, So like, I like the edit, But I also
like the thought of him like showing vulnerability. So like,
I think there's a place for both of them.
Speaker 2 (43:44):
But I'm just curious about that because I hadn't asked you.
Speaker 1 (43:48):
Yeah, I do appreciate the edit though.
Speaker 2 (43:50):
Okay, I get that, totally get it, uh, Nick. I
also saw Megan two point oher.
Speaker 1 (43:57):
So Megan two point oh not did not do as
well as Megan at the box office.
Speaker 2 (44:03):
The intrigue is down. Like the marketing for Megan the
first movie was was arguably it was great. Yes, it
was great. They did. They rolled that shit out so well.
This one, and also Megan was more of a horror.
This one is just like sci fi action really, which
(44:26):
you know what? That was the natural evolution of this character,
especially with where she was working at the in the
first movie, she was basically working for like a military
contracted company. It was the natural evolution of where this
movie was going. And this one is just full just
like action sci fi. It's think of like, honestly, this
(44:50):
is the biggest compliment I can give it, Demolition Man.
It's fun like Demolition Man.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
Okay, that actually makes complete sense to me.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
It's it's not horror in almost any way. It's longer,
it's like two hours long, but it's it feels like
Demolition Man. It's it's like not serious. Megan is kind
of Wesley Snipes. Yea, yeah, it's kind of the vibe
(45:30):
that she like she's doing what's his name? What was
his name? Got it? It was such a perfect name.
Speaker 1 (45:38):
Phoenix was his last name.
Speaker 2 (45:39):
Yes, it was Simon Phoenix, Phoenix. She had Simon Phoenix
Phoenix energy energy, which I can now.
Speaker 1 (45:51):
I want to watch Demolition Man.
Speaker 2 (45:53):
I know, why wouldn't you? I mean, Demolition Man's great.
Speaker 1 (45:57):
Every restaurant's Taco Bell.
Speaker 2 (45:58):
Drew, every single restaurant is talk about it won the
Restaurant Wars.
Speaker 1 (46:03):
The Restaurant Wars.
Speaker 2 (46:03):
Yeah, Baja Blast.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Tangent real quick, what I mean, you can now get
it at grocery stores. Like it's not a Taco Bell
exclusive anymore. So you can have Baja Blast anytime you want, sir.
They even make a zero sugar version.
Speaker 2 (46:21):
Of I Also, I haven't had like a Mountain Dew
in probably like ten years, ten or fifteen years.
Speaker 1 (46:28):
Oh me, neither.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
Actually, you know what, that's a lie because I used
to have the high voltage one, the blue one, so
I can't say I haven't had a Mountain Dew in
years and that long. But since like their original flavor,
I haven't had probably like ten or fifteen years. I
think it would probably kill me now.
Speaker 1 (46:48):
It's like having a nitro cola back in the day.
Do you ever have those?
Speaker 2 (46:53):
No? I didn't. I oh hily caffeinated ones, right, Iiley caffeinated. Yeah, Nick,
I used to like do you know you remember hot
Topic used to sell like caffeine, like mint or like
chew of all things. Yeah, I used to just buy those,
and I'd go through that thing like a I don't
even know why, Like I don't even I can't even
explain to you why even in that brain and that
(47:17):
I can put myself in that like I don't know
why I did it. I just I wanted it, jol.
They tasted all right, That's what I remember. But yeah, okay,
yeah yeah, that's the best kind of compliment I can
really give. It is uh, it feels like demolition. It's
(47:42):
that kind of action sci fi. They even go your
your MIC's down. They even go underground briefly a lot
like in Demolition Man with what's his name.
Speaker 1 (47:57):
Is Dennis Leary there with with know he's not.
Speaker 2 (48:00):
In there, but they go underground. So I'm like the
parallels are there.
Speaker 1 (48:07):
She comes out of suspended animation.
Speaker 2 (48:11):
A character kind of does.
Speaker 1 (48:13):
Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 2 (48:16):
So that's the best, Like Megan two point oh.
Speaker 1 (48:20):
If you like Demolition Man, see Megan two point oh.
Speaker 2 (48:24):
Yes, it's a lot of fun and it's the perfect
amount of creepy too, whenever it decides to. So yeah,
I enjoyed Megan two point oh like I enjoyed Megan
two point oh. Actually more than i'd liked Megan, if
I'm being completely honest. And then also one last thing
I did watch. I watched The Day the Earth Blew Up,
(48:46):
the Looney Tunes movie. I watched that last night. It's
all right, like, you know what, like that one's good.
I'm happy it exists. I I like some Looney action,
especially with every like everything Nick. Just so you know,
if if there's an adjective, I'm going to add like action.
(49:07):
So like a couple of weeks ago, I said dino action,
I think earlier today. I can't remember what else I mentioned,
some kind of sci fi action. Maybe no, that one's
too normal, but yeah, oh the Day They Earth Blew Up? Yeah,
it's fine. I can't wait. I literally can't wait for
(49:30):
the The Wiley Kyte Kyti versus.
Speaker 1 (49:33):
Actme Coot versus act me.
Speaker 2 (49:35):
I'm very very much looking forward to that because I
feel like that one's going to be really good. This
one was okay. This was okay. Like I said, I
like that it exists. It gives it gives us an
origin of porky Pigs, stutter, and Daffy Duck. He's looney
(49:56):
that that says like it's the thing that he wants
to be the most is looney. And he gets to
be looney eventually in this movie. So he's been he
is given a permission to be looney. So if I
think it's be a good movie for like to introduce
(50:16):
younger kids to Looney Tunes, I think a perfect age
would be like nine, which is I think the perfect
age for Looney Tunes. Sure, So.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
Do you want me to make you feel old.
Speaker 2 (50:34):
Always?
Speaker 1 (50:37):
This week Back to the Future turns forty years old.
Speaker 2 (50:44):
That actually doesn't make me feel old.
Speaker 1 (50:46):
Oh it makes me feel terribly old.
Speaker 2 (50:47):
Because I'm I just turned thirty seven, so I uh
probably expected it to be a couple of years older
than me.
Speaker 1 (50:55):
So probably one of my favorite movies of all time. Like,
it's a great one, it's top five.
Speaker 2 (51:05):
The thing is actually like Back to the Future too,
more than I like Back to the Future. I do.
I love Back to the Future. I think it's it's
a better movie. It's better than Back to the Future too.
But like, I like sequels a lot, even in reason
I like sequels. I don't know why.
Speaker 1 (51:22):
But yeah, I just still waiting on that Ready Player too.
Speaker 2 (51:27):
I mean, I take a Ready Player too. I mean
Olivia Cook back in it. I just don't watch House
of the Dragons, so I don't get my Olivia Cook fixed.
I don't know that. Just you said, Ready Player one
is the first actor I could think of, Is it
Olivia Cook? I believe it.
Speaker 1 (51:49):
You are correct.
Speaker 2 (51:50):
Yeah, I love I would take you just a SQL guy. Yeah,
I do like sequels, man, Like I was, I did
like this stupid little list thing, and it turns out
like almost everything I liked was like either the sequel
to a game or a movie. I was like, man,
I yeah it was. It was Kingdom Hearts two, Gears
(52:13):
of War two, Red Dead, Redemption two. I guess movies
weren't really the case. Yeah, but I guess my logic.
There's even Flag just because it's games with a vengeance.
Never seen that one. Oh, Lord, I've seen I've seen
die Hard and Live Free or die Hard.
Speaker 1 (52:38):
Sometimes I don't know if I understand you at all.
Speaker 2 (52:43):
I think it makes sense.
Speaker 1 (52:45):
Sure, So I don't know any other movie dues you have, sir.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
Okay, No, I think that's all I had for movies. Yeah,
that's all I got. So I mean that once again,
there's not a ton of TV. Game Changer was very funny.
They're doing the the Wheel of Fortune kind of game.
Oh my good dude, Ana Garcia, I love her so much,
(53:18):
but there I can't remember his name, but I think
my favorite line from the show this week was who
like can be mean? Have you ever met a British woman? A?
H God, it was. It's a game Changer once again
continues to.
Speaker 1 (53:36):
Be one of the dropout people.
Speaker 2 (53:40):
Happy birthday, Josh Ruben. It was actually a day ago.
Speaker 1 (53:43):
No problem, no problem.
Speaker 2 (53:45):
H love that dude, director of one of my favorite movies.
Speaker 1 (53:49):
H So yeah, Hard Eyes was really good this year.
Speaker 2 (53:54):
I was talking about Scare Me, but I do like
I know you are.
Speaker 1 (53:57):
Hard Eyes was really good this year. I guess it's
that time in our weekly discussion that we dive down
the rabbit hole that is wwe wrestling. We did have
a pay per view this past Saturday over in Riodd.
I have mixed feelings about the card. I don't know.
(54:21):
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
I think the Jay and Cody match was okay. I
think Jade and Oscar was okay. I think that was
actually a little bit better than I expected. I think
Ria versus versus Raquel was really great. They really pounded
each other. I think that I stand by Raquel having
(54:50):
like the only good Ronda Rousey match. Yeah, she's the
only person who actually gave Ronda ROWSI like a really
good match. It was on SmackDown one week and it
was just like it was the only thing that Ronda
had done that was like, Okay, she she might be
able to wrestle, just she's a terrible person. But I
(55:12):
thought that much was really good. I thought Sina versus
Punk was was good. I mean it was what I expected,
and then just a ton of shenanigans at the end, a.
Speaker 1 (55:23):
Lon of shenanigans and goings on. I feel bad for Charles.
I hope he's okay.
Speaker 2 (55:28):
I survived. Yeah, Yeah, it was as to.
Speaker 1 (55:33):
Join that group in the clouds with Carlito.
Speaker 2 (55:38):
Yeah, Oh my god, speaking of Carlito El Grande Americano.
Speaker 1 (55:44):
He suddenly grew afoot, who knew?
Speaker 2 (55:50):
You know what I dig it? I'm into like, actually,
you know what, I think the mask, I think it's
a different mask. I think they had to it doesn't
have this base for him to put the metal clay in. Unfortunately,
that's ridiculous. I'm into it because it's so stupid. It's
(56:10):
so stupid, but so funny wrestling stupid. Wrestling in itself
is stupid. It is it should be.
Speaker 1 (56:18):
But as Ron Functions, as Ron Functions points out regularly,
we would have to be some psychos to want to
see people really do these things to each other. Yeah, like,
wrestling's just fun.
Speaker 2 (56:34):
If these people weren't protecting each other at every cost,
it would it would suck. But you know what, like
it's all story driven. That's that's the point. It's it's storytelling.
Speaker 1 (56:48):
So I thought the Carrying Cross and Sammy's ain match
were pretty good. Yeah, obviously Sammy was gonna win. Being
a practicing Muslim from Montreal. They want to let him
do his thing when they go over to Saudi Arabia,
and I appreciate it, Like Sammy's a I like Sammy
as a wrestler. I think he brings a lot of
(57:10):
fun and a lot of energy to the ring. I
really want to see Carry and Cross get a good
bump though, Like we need more Carry and Cross on television.
Speaker 2 (57:21):
Was he on TV this week?
Speaker 1 (57:23):
Briefly? Briefly yesterday?
Speaker 2 (57:26):
Who did he talk to?
Speaker 1 (57:27):
He didn't talk to anybody. He came out and beat
the shit out of Sammy's ain with a lead pipe.
Speaker 2 (57:31):
Oh that's right in the backstage area. Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah,
I think that's where we're going. I did say that
we a couple like a month ago, that that was
the natural conclusion. I think Samy was just in the
middle of a storyline or something, or he had to
leave for a little bit. I thought that that was
(57:52):
like the perfect kind of person for Carrie and to
go after, because Carrion is this person that people really
want to cheer or for, and Sammy somebody that people
definitely cheer for. So but he's actually out there in
the ring and you just kind of left Carry in
in the back making people want him more, and then
only making like Carrion and Scarlet on Twitter and everything,
(58:15):
just making people like kind of poking the fires, being like, yeah,
we're not. We weren't on TV again, we weren't out
in the ring again this week. You should be angry.
I feel like it's all just part of the plan.
Speaker 1 (58:28):
I hope you're right.
Speaker 2 (58:30):
I hope. So that's that's where my head is. I
think they just had to tie up some some stories
had to create start some new ones had to shift,
especially with with Live going down and evolutions so soon.
But they did add a bunch of matches to that card.
Speaker 1 (58:54):
We'a an EO get a match, which should be good.
Speaker 2 (58:58):
We're gonna get Raquel and Roxanne have are now the
tag team champions and from NXT and SmackDown, which I
believe the SmackDown people are going to be Alexa and
and Charlotte, okay, and I don't know who they're picking
for n x T. I don't remember what NXT women's
(59:22):
tag teams we have right now, I except for Metaphor,
which I wouldn't mind metaphor, But are they still metaphor
because I think no MD are ended metaphor. I don't
remember but lash legend and I can't remember the other
girl's name. I apologize. I would love to see lash
Legend on the evolution. I love lash Legend, She's a
(59:42):
great wrestler. Yeah, you know that that would be perfect.
The two girls from Metaphor, I think they'd be perfect
to add to the that match.
Speaker 1 (59:52):
So we we are gearing up for Summer Slam. The
first two night Summer Slam it will be at the
beginning of August. August second and third. We have a
a Saturday night main event in July with Gunther versus Goldberg. Yay,
uh uh? But uh is the what is the p
(01:00:15):
L E in July? I can't remember. Is it the
Clash of the Castle in Paris?
Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
Class of Paris? I don't know what's going to be
on I imagine that's probably you'll probably get a Saint of August.
Speaker 1 (01:00:30):
So never mind, I can't I can't think of what
the July p L E is.
Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
It might be Wait, did I say Survivor Series is
in San Diego?
Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
Survivor Series is that pet Co? So the Great American
Bash is the n x T p L E and
Sarah main event and then we get evolutions, so that
July twelfth and July thirteenth are the pls that we're
getting basically.
Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
Yeah, because Evolution is after Saturday announcement event, right, yes, okay,
so that and then I think the next big one
is Summer Slam.
Speaker 1 (01:01:15):
Yes, August second and third, and then we get clash
in Paris on So you think first.
Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
You think, actually no, I think it would have to happen.
Actually no, at Evolution, do you think we get Becky
as IC champion in a singles match against Lyra or Bailey?
Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
Or do you think no, we're getting a triple threat?
Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
But do we get that at Summer Slam instead? Because
I think we get that at Summerlam. I think where
do we get an evolution because Becky has to be
on that card. I think you do Becky versus Bailey
again and again. It looks like you might get it now.
(01:01:56):
I don't think they'll do two triple threats on two consecuted.
Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
You get j C versus Jordan grace Yoski versus Ria Ripley,
Raquel Rodriguez and Roxande Perez versus Alexa Bliss and Charlotte
Flair versus a NXT team to be named. There is
a a fourth match that is to be determined, and
(01:02:23):
then Tiff Stratton versus Trish Stratus in a singles match,
so those are going to be your five matches. The
fourth match is supposed to be a Battle Royal for
a Women's World Championship match at Clash in Paris, so
they'll be a Battle Royale going on at Evolution.
Speaker 2 (01:02:48):
Yeah, I'm I'm I'm excited for a Revolution too. I
think I'm a big fan of especially w w e's
women's wrestling roster. They I think it's just such a
really they're all really proficient wrestlers.
Speaker 1 (01:03:05):
I'm excited to see Jordan Grace get a shot on
a p l E. I really like her. I think
she's a fantastic performer.
Speaker 2 (01:03:12):
She talked today. I think she's saying something specifically on
I think she's cutting a promo on tonight's NXT, which
I look forward like she's she might be turning kind
of heel here a man, which kind of gives j C.
(01:03:33):
Jane a chance to kind of go face because I
think I don't know if I thought Jordan was gonna
get called up here soon, but she might get the
NXT title, yeah, which I called like last year, but
I had changed my thoughts because I thought she was
going to come up and be the muscle for somebody.
(01:03:56):
I messaged you and I couldn't remember who said that
she would be a good mom, Becky, I thought you
would be good Russell for Becky. But yeah, but yeah,
I'm excited for j C Jane. I think j C
Jane has had a on a not enough credit has
(01:04:17):
been given to j C Jane for no, not at all,
because yeah, it was surprising that she got the championship. Yeah,
that was surprising. But she's ran with it. I thought
she was. She's been good. So but yeah, this week's raw,
I mean, well, actually smackdowns. What happened on SmackDown? SmackDown?
(01:04:40):
Something happened maybe I'm not.
Speaker 1 (01:04:48):
What's her name?
Speaker 2 (01:04:48):
One the Julia Julia? Yeah, from Zelena Vega in surprise.
That was That's interesting because I I hadn't finished my
down by the time I was even watching not a
champions So that was surprised seeing her there with the
(01:05:10):
US Tide, which sucks for Selena. I don't know. I
think Selena just unfortunately she doesn't read champion and that's
unfortunate because she she's a hard worker. It's just I
don't know, I like I like Selena. Yeah, and you
(01:05:32):
know what, she'll I think she'll get the championship again.
I think, uh, you know what, I didn't really believe
too much in Carmela the first time she won the
championship whenever she was uh SmackDown champion, but she turned
out to be a great wrestler too, So I mean,
and Jelena Vegas great wrestlers just kind of have to
just I can't think of a single promo that she's
(01:05:54):
that she's had that's made me think I'm on Zelena's side.
So yeah, but yeah, Julia is the new US champion.
And then what matches happened on Raw this past week? Yeah,
(01:06:16):
there was the Bronson versus Bronson and Braun versus Sammy
and Penta, which was a good match that was yeah,
uh you uh you.
Speaker 1 (01:06:29):
Did have.
Speaker 2 (01:06:33):
Ship.
Speaker 1 (01:06:34):
I just watched it this morning. Uh awful my memory. Honestly,
it wasn't that memorable of a Raw, to be completely
honest with you. Seamus and Russev had a had a
match that was pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:06:50):
Yeah, Seamus and Roussev was good. Lyra versus Bailey Bailey
was really good. They actually I was when I was
watching it, I actually thought that they were doing a
double pin earlier in the match, and it's kind of
in closer to the to the ring post, and I
was like, because Jessica Carr was doing the count, I
(01:07:15):
was like, who are they counting?
Speaker 1 (01:07:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:07:17):
I felt like, oh man, they must have really set
this up because I was not expecting another because I
thought that would have been a great end to the match. Sure,
and then they kept going and it was still a
good match. But then they did the double pin again,
so I was I felt vindicated. I was like, I know, so,
(01:07:39):
I know my wrestling, but that was a great match
and they did the double pin. Jessica Carr sold it
really well and then they beat each other up, which
is gonna lead to a triple threat eventually.
Speaker 1 (01:07:51):
Yeah, absolutely is going to you.
Speaker 2 (01:07:54):
Know what, Hey, thank god for the New Day. But
you know what, they lost Judle Day. Where the gold
right now, all the gold women's I am.
Speaker 1 (01:08:03):
Very wrong about the Judgment Day breaking.
Speaker 2 (01:08:05):
Up everybody always is.
Speaker 1 (01:08:09):
I was very wrong about it.
Speaker 2 (01:08:12):
Yeah. They have five total belts right now, two tag
teams and the Intercontinental, and you know what, I want
them to get more because I want them to get
the women's World Championship again. I want, like, literally, I
(01:08:32):
want that team dripping in gold. I want them Undisputed
Era dripping in gold. That was easier for them because
there were just four people. But yes, I want Judgment
Day dripping in gold again. But I thank God for
the New Day. Still big fans of them all. This
(01:08:53):
just means is they're just going to add another tally
to their amount of Tag.
Speaker 1 (01:08:56):
Team cham championships.
Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
Yes, which only makes their their Hall of Fame speech longer.
Speaker 1 (01:09:05):
Yes, yes it does.
Speaker 2 (01:09:10):
Yeah, there were only four matches on that card. Uh
on raw on a three hour.
Speaker 1 (01:09:18):
And a half. Yeah, four matches.
Speaker 2 (01:09:21):
Wow? Yeah, Hey, I mean they were good matches, but
they were uh yeah, I'm excited. Uh obviously, I'm excited
for Evolution two, but I mean to go over everything.
I mean, go see F one, Go see Megan two
point zero, go see Jurassic World Rebirth. Superman's out next week.
(01:09:49):
If you have a nine year old, watched The Day
that Earth Blew Up? It's on Max. If you're a
comedy fan, watch Game Changer on Dropout TV. It's fantastic.

in the show too. Oh lord, and he's great. He's
really good in the show. And then the sister who
gets her next slit and and the invisible and is
the main girl. Okay, yeah, that's good. So naturally I
(01:10:52):
moved on to the other Justin Spitzer show, Saint Dennis Medical. St.
Speaker 1 (01:10:57):
Dennis Medical is so good.
Speaker 2 (01:10:59):
Dude, I think that kid has like JD vibes, doesn't it.
Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
Oh yeah, for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:11:08):

really great. Watch watch Ironheart because I still need to. Yeah,
I'm working on it.
Speaker 1 (01:11:25):
Like I said, I work nine days in a row,
so like I get to do stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:11:31):
Wee, you're gonna miss some things. Oh yeah, happy for July.
