Speaker 1 (00:20):
And welcome back to us the podcast exclusively for people
who understand that, statistically speaking, flying is still the safest
way to travel.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Where your host is always I'm Nick.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
And I'm andre Z. That's l z Albi for short.
He finally came out, came out, and finally, dude, I
was so excited for you. Okay, I've seen it twice.
I believe in imax Ann and Dolby. Nick, I need
your actually, Nick, hold up, hold up, okay, can you

(00:58):
take a look at this.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yes, I know podcasts or oral medium, but the Daily
Planet newspaper box that is the AMC popcorn box is fantastic.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Also as Crypto. Yes, oh, I had to go pick
it up for you.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
It'll be sent out, It'll be sent out shortly.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
And the money will be venmo to you therein.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
There also might be another surprise in there for you.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Is it the actual crypto.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
There are? I mean, Palm clementief did just skydive just
because she's just continuing to skydive after mission. Impossible, delightful.
She did skydive with Crypto, I believe yesterday or today
on social media.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
So awesome, y'all. This is going to be an absolutely
spoiler filled episode of was. If you have not seen Superman,
wait and listen to this after you see it. Unless
you don't care about spoilers and be squealing like a
l a little baby, then listen away. But guys, it

(02:19):
is twenty twenty five. I am forty one years old.
There has not been a great Superman movie made in
my lifetime until now.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
I agree. As much as I will defend a Man
of Steel, I do understand the gripes. I think it's
just like maybe I'm just blinded by Michael Shannon. And
I do love Amazing and I do love Amy Adams
because she has played one of my favorite characters ever.
She played in None of the Museum Too, Battle Smithsonian.

(02:57):
She played Amelia, Amelia Earhart, and it's one of my
favorite characters.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
It's such a great performance.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
She just does not quit that role.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Listen, There's Man of Steel is a fine movie. It
is fine. It gave me Superman when there was a
Superman desert, and for that I am grateful. And if
Zack Snyder knows how to do one thing, and do
one thing exceptionally well, it is cinematography, super say fighting. Yes,

(03:32):
it is it is a beautiful movie. The thing he
is in. Growing up with the nineteen seventy eight Richard
Donners Superman film, the Fleischer cartoons Superman, the animated series,
the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited series, Superman was

(03:53):
something very different for me than what Man of Steel portrayed.
And that is not to say that it is anything
less for someone out there that is their Superman, and
that is okay, But for me, there was something always
missing with Cavill Superman. I think Cavill had the chops

(04:13):
to be a great Superman. He definitely has the look
of a great Superman. I just for me, that is
not the Superman that I aspire to to watch and
to be.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Like, I don't if I can cut you off for
a second, yeah, I don't recall ever seeing like Cavill's
Superman like interacting too much with the public exactly which
and in Superman himself, I believe considers himself a public servant, yes,
and I think that is something like we also discussed

(04:50):
I believe a couple of weeks ago that there was
no like brightness or sunniness to the Zack Snyder movies,
and that was also missing because as this movie definitely uh.
Prescribe describes Superman is powered by the sun. Yes, he is, and.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
It is implicitly stated multiple times.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Yeah, it's like and it also it gives us like
one of the most beauty, like did you see the
shot that I do? You know the shot I'm talking
about that it said like could make you cry.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
There were a few shots in this movie that could
make me cry. I'm not gonna lie will discuss them.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
It's in the trailer. But the whenever he saves that
one woman in the in the car from the falling building,
skyscraper and then.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
She then he just rises up.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
As she as she looks back and she she gets
that her own ray of hope. She's she's the only audience.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
I got the goose pumps thinking about it.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
She's the only audience for that besides us. And he
does that to say, like to provide her hope that
she's yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
He's gonna be okay. Yeah, but no, as you see
him rise out of the dust and the just the
debris of that building and he just rises up, it
just the score hits in and it's just a brilliant moment.
There were so many listen for two hours and like

(06:27):
for eight minutes or something like that. For the majority
of that time, I had a giant smile on my face.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Makes me happy when.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
The remixing of the score, like the original John Williams
theme just kind of sprinkled in there and then it's
kind of modernized for modern audiences. It it filled me
with hope, which is something I've lacked for the last decade.
So this movie hits on so many levels for me.

(07:02):
Is it a perfect movie? No, it is not. I
would have loved to have seen more Clark. I would
have loved to have seen more Lois Perry.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Jimmy Harry was great. I love Perry. Yeah, he like
he didn't want to be called chief. Yeah, and I
love that from from the original movie. That's it's yeah,
It's like Window Pierce killed that. I mean everybody, everybody
in the like, why did Beck Bennett grab his baseball?
Mit when he was getting on this so good? Why

(07:35):
did he grab his baseball? Mint?

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Why don't I have a seat belt?

Speaker 3 (07:41):
He was? He served the purpose that I needed.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Steve Lombard God, So guys, this is a movie that says,
you know what, you don't need to see Krypton explode.
You don't need to see baby Khalil put into a
rocket ship and center Earth. Everybody who's everybody knows how
the the mythos of Superman. Let's just jump right in.

(08:11):
So Superman's been in action for three years at this point,
and he just got his ass kicked. This is how
the movie starts.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
I was gonna ask you, how do you feel about
the very first image of Superman that we get is
him in defeat.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
I love it because I was curious.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
I was curious because that, like I was whatever I striking,
I was like, the first this is the beginning of
this universe, and the first thing we see is Superman
almost fell.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
So, you know the Superman mythos, you know, and Snyder
was very on the nose about this. The Superman mythos is,
you know, a traditional Christian mythos, but in superhero form, yes,
you know, he's in his thirties, he forms miracles, all
this kind of stuff. Superman's greatest strength is that, even

(09:11):
though he has the power of a demi god, he's
the most human of us all. In fact, in the
comics Batman, Bruce Wayne always talks about how Superman's the
best of humanity. So like seeing him weakened, seeing him
beat it makes him human, Yeah, at the very beginning,

(09:33):
And that's that's super cool in my opinion, because then
you get to see him get back up.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Yes, okay, I very I just wasn't sure. I wasn't
sure how how people would feel about that. I think
gun hit that on the nose, I didn't. I also
like the three three centuries, three.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Decades, three decades, three months, hours, three hours. Yeah, or
three years, three months, three hours, three minutes.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Uh. The uh, the fact that we get the bestest
boy in the galaxy right at the beginning of the movie, Crypto,
the scene from from the trailers where he's jumping all
over Superman. So good that dog.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
He's not a very good one.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
He's not a good boy, but he's the bestest boy.
And I love I love that he is central to
the plot of the movie.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
He will one do.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Yes, see, we're gonna see him next June. We'll get
to that. But no, seeing that Superman gets the ship
beat out of him, goes back to the fortress, gets
rays of the Yellow Sun to get powered back up
to like eighty three percent. I believe Gary tells us,

(10:53):
which is still one of my favorite. Later in the movie,
for is a name is Gary.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
Gary. That's Allen Tutic though. Man.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
But yeah, I got to get back to the fray
and he gets he goes right back it gets his
ass kicked again.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Yeah. Why, I mean this is a spoiler episode, so
I mean it's himself basically.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Yeah, And I did call that before we saw the movie.
I turned to Clark and I said, I guarantee you
this is what character is gonna be. Yeah, And I
have theories that I'm that I had before I watched
the New rock Stars video shoot. So Eric and I
both agree that I think they're setting up Zorro Superman. Yeah,

(11:36):
which would be super cool because all those cubes in
in the Proton River. Yes, would make sense for for
Bizarro world.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
But no, I strike Eric is more of a Marvel
person than a super than a DC person. So I
think I'm trying, Like, I don't know if he would
know about like the the cube and stuff.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
The fact that we are just dumped right into this
world that is a living world that like Gun trusts
the audience, which I appreciate. He said, We're we're just
gonna dump you into the middle of this, like all
these characters have already been established in this world and
you're meeting them for the first time, but everybody else

(12:23):
knows who these people are.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
They're at nonchalant.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Yeah, it's just it's really cool to see, like, again,
he's not he's not holding our hand, which again I
appreciate even for people who are not comic book insane
nerds like myself, Like you still meet these characters and
you get their power sets and and you understand that
they're part of a group. Like it's just done really well.

(12:50):
What stands out for me is the vibrant nature of
the colors in this movie. It's just it's a very
bright movie, bright blues, reds, and yellows for Superman.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
And the only time it isn't is during when we're
in the Pocket universe. Yes, yes, uh, and that's supposed
to be bad because like he doesn't he's not getting powered.
He's not, and that's why he's vulnerable down there, like
even after he's been revived by the Element Man. Uh.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
Metamorpho, I love I love Anthony Carrigan. Yes, something so
off the wall like Metamorpho, the Element Man is is
insane that we get that in the first foray into
this new dc.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
I didn't even know about him until I watched Doom
Patrol and he's in like the first episode.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
So like the the the amount of humor in this
movie is perfect. Some of it a little cheesy, but
that's okay. Like Superman is a golly guy, he's a
he's that's Superman. He speaks, you know, have Clark speaks. Yeah,
we even get it in the seventy eight movie.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
You know. I think this is in. This is not
a disservice or anything. This is I think an evolution.
I think this is the least James Gunny movie that
we've ever gotten. And I think that's not just like
it's not like fun like a Guardian's movie, like especially
Guardians One. It's not like that. It's a more mature,

(14:28):
healthy view on hope. And it's not as juvenile as
as like Suicide Squad or or any of his other stuff.
This is a a more polished But.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
There's a reason why gun and Saffron chose Superman to
be the tent pole to start off the.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
New DCU instead of Batman.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Like they they saw the landscape of world and they
said we need hepe, this is what we need first. Yeah,
and then we're gonna fit everything into this established world
when it makes sense, which I appreciate from the word
go though, Like it's pretty NonStop. I thought the flying

(15:17):
looked great, Like when David corn Sweat comes out of
the fortress to get back into the fray, that that
whole speedback. Yeah, it's so it looks so good. Speaking
of David corn Sweat, that dude just encompasses Superman and Clark.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
He found it, he found it.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Yeah, And here's the thing. There's so many parallels to
Korn Sweat and Christopher Reeve. They they're both they're both
Juilliard trained, so they have that physical comedy plus the
dramatic acting. You know, they're they're professionals.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
The Sweat Okay, I was gonna let you continue with
your parallels.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Again, there's more parallels. But like when you when you
look at both of them, you see that they're more
than just the words on the page. Yes, like they
encompass that character. Which again maybe it's because I just
didn't jive with the the way that Snyder went about,

(16:27):
you know, producing Superman. But like it's just you can
it's palpable, like when they're on the screen as Superman
and you're like, that dude is faster than this beating bullet.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
I I I love the performance. I thought he really
uh honestly, I thought he really nailed it. My favorite obviously,
the best part of the movie for him, the best
moment of acting, besides maybe during the interview with with Lois,
which which which is? Which is Like, it's very close
to the nineteen seventy eight one, which I also just

(17:03):
rewatched yesterday, and yeah, because like obviously both movies have
that giant interview between Superman and Lois. But the best
bit that we got is really there at the end
where he is talking down Lex Luthor and telling telling

(17:26):
him why he like, I'm as human as any of you,
just because like I wake up and I don't know
and I know I'm going to make mistakes and that's okay.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Scared.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Yeah, it's man, That scene, like it gives you goosebumps
because even like because it kind of tricks you at first,
because he gives you a little bit of that speech
and then Lex gives a almost compelling argument. It's still
very sociopathic, yes, but he gives like he cuts off

(18:02):
Superman and.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Because Superman still wants to believe that there's good in
even Lex Luthor.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Yeah, and even after Lex has talked him down, Superman
still has hope. He's still he's still there and he
and that that's one thing that you're gonna get with
a a where your villain is normal human, he's a
genius and everything you're not gonna get, like you're not

(18:32):
gonna get a firework for a Vinyl resolve, You're you're
gonna get a talk down, and which is fine. But
this movie also portrayed why Lex is such a great
like foil oil to Superman, because he uses his intelligence,
which is what Gene Hackman did so well in that

(18:53):
nineteen seventy eight Like this movie, like I see this
more of a Lex almost a Lex Luther movie. It
almost as much as the Superman.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Yeah, you know, the chemistry on screen, nick I thought
Nicholas Holt did just an absolutely brilliant job. He plays
this tech billionaire sociopath so well, you know, just scheming
behind the scenes. I love that the chemistry between Lex

(19:25):
and Superman and and Clark and Lois is so good.
I love that there are there are these little cameos,
like the main henchman for lex Is named Otis, who
was played by Ned Baty in the nineteen seventy eighth film.

(19:46):
Like it's just.

Speaker 3 (19:49):
Speaking of if we're going to talk about like secondary characters,
I have to, like everybody thinks I'm going to talk
about like Skylar Gizondo, and we should, we should, We're
going to get to him. I don't even know the
actor's name, but whoever played Eve test Macher? I love
you because you you played so kind of desperate and

(20:12):
stupid and I loved you so much. Sarah, I think
she's a model. I don't care. Uh like her desperation
for Jimmy Olsen.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
So good.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
She was a performance of the movie.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Insane in every scene that gun puts her on the screen.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
Like in the alley, whenever.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
I think if your mom like my mother, Yeah, she
feels the same way you have to live.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
One time you met, I loved her, she was hilarious,
like she's she stole all three of her scenes and
uh the let's let's hang out this weekend weekend Skylar
Gazando like this movie like James Gunn let everybody know, Yes,

(21:07):
Scylear Gazando has like this weird, sneaky sexiness. But if
you if as long as if you get it, you
get it. But apparently some people don't.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
But I don't understand that. Like Skylar Gazando's just.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
He just has a charm, like I don't know what
it was.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
And I appreciate that they made Jimmy a professional. He
was not just the comic relief. He had some hilarious scenes,
but he was a professional. He was like his pivotal
story at the end. Yeah, he so like like he
has his own sources and eve Test mocker. Yeah, it's

(21:44):
just it was. It was refreshing to see see and
Skyler Gazando played it very well.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Also, I have to say, as it turns out both
movies nineteen seventy eight and twenty twenty five, guess who
ex the actual hero is.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Eve Test Maker eve Test Yep.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
She took the Kryptonite necklace off of him in seventy
eight and she provided all the sources.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
All the evidence.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
Yeah, it's hero. Really, she's the hero.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
She is the hero. But no Jimmy Olsen pulling massive
amounts of tail. It's just a hilarious wrinkle in that character.
And I love it, Like when they're in the planet
and he looks over and those two girls are just
like waving at him and staring at him and laughing

(22:38):
like it's he.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
Knows, he knows, but he's.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Like on his desk, he has a picture of him
with two exceptionally attractive women.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
Oh yeah, that was my theory. I wanted that. I
wanted Millie Alcock to show up as Kara, to be
the one to take that photo. But she did show up.
And I don't know enough about Million Alcock or even Carzora.
I've watched the The Eighties movie, which is stupid but
very fun. It's fun.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
It's very fun. It is definitely stupid, but it's very fun.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
Flying not bad in that movie either. Yeah, they I
don't know what I think. Flying got bad for a while.
How did Superman always nail it?

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Yeah, I don't know. I don't get it. I don't understand.
But Gun pulled off the flag very well. No big spoiler,
Carazorrel does show up. Millie Alcock does show up in
this film at the end. I love I love how
horn Sweat talks about her with with Gary, because that's

(23:48):
that's who I'm calling for. From now on.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
It's very scary.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
You know, she has to she has to go to
planets with red suns to get drunk because our metabolism
doesn't allow us to get drunk with the.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
Captain America thing. It's the Captain America thing.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
So like a drunk Supergirl flies through the roof of
the fortress of Sidey.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
Do you guys move the door the door?

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Thanks for watching My dog, Bitch.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
I'm into it. I like, I don't watch House of
the Dragon, so I don't like as as I said
a couple of weeks ago, I don't get my my
Olivia Uh what's her name? Uh? She was in Ready
Player one?

Speaker 2 (24:33):
Oh oh ship, why.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
About Olivia Cook? I didn't get my Olivia Cook fixed
because she's on She's on the House of the Dragon,
soa and I don't So I don't know Milly Alcock.
I believe that's like her. Oh and then she has
a new show that was on the that just came
out on Netflix with The Girl from Drop. Sorry. Oh. Also,

(24:59):
my theory on David cornsweat. I've watched a lot of
his his press today, I've digested a lot of his press.
He is a giant giant fucking nerd, and that's why
I appreciate him. He did go to Juilliard and he
mentioned that like his he's a reference person and he's

(25:21):
always looking for that final tag. He's looking for a
tag at the end, like he's trying to find a
joke at the end. Like he's like that annoying comic.
But he's not bad. He's very charming. Yes, I think
like I think he's either a d D or like
And this is a no way an insult because I

(25:42):
think most people are in some way or some way
or for him, I think he's somewhere on the spectrum. Sure,
it's just like his the way he he's done press,
and he seems drunk right now because he's ready for
it to be Yes, him and Nicholas Hull are very

(26:03):
very done. But I haven't actually seen any press with
Rachel Brosnahan or Sky Arizonda. I've I've seen a little
bit of James Gunn but it's all been corn sweat
and and Nicholas Hole. But yeah, he I've watched his
Vanity Fair with the light detector. I watched the lad
Bible with the snacks, I watched the Court thing with

(26:26):
the with Rosky, I can't remember her first name. He
seems like a like a pretty normalish dude. So by
like he mentioned at Juilliard, like he would always like
reference like something he would like if like if a

(26:47):
teacher was was mentioning like a type of method, he
would kind of reference what he knew that like movie wise,
like he and they did not like him, just like
instantly just referencing something. I think he's just a little.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
Add oh one hundred percent, but I like him.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
I think he found I hope he's a good guy
because and also with his press in what we're learning
about corn Sweat as opposed to what we learned from Cavel,
Cavell is a giant nerd. And the only thing the
problem with Cavel is he's a nerd about something that
nobody else knows about. He's a nerd about Warhammer forty

(27:34):
K twenty kyeah forty K. He's a nerd about something
that nobody knows about. So his his references don't really
catch on. But and he did the Witcher, but we
just didn't get this kind of press like we did

(27:54):
like we've gotten with Cornswet. We're showing a little bit
more lighter because Cavil. Cavill was like he seems like
a serious British actor. Though have we seen him really
do anything kind of funny funny yet? I mean he
did the.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
Gentlemanly I mean technically man.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
From Uncle as well. Yeah silly, I don't remember how
much silliness he.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Listen again, I think he Cavill had the chops to
do it. But the best thing he's ever done is
the arm cock in Mission Impossible.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
He was great in Mission Impossible. He was great. Uh So,
I mean, I I'm very satisfied with with Superman. I
think it's an endlessly rewatchable movie because I don't think
there's a dude, Eddie dude uh mister.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
I was literally getting ready to say my low key
m VP of this movie. Movie is Eddie as mister Terrific.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
And I mean like the Yeah, I agree that it was.
It was very similar to The Guardians three, like the
Hallway Fight, but this one like had It was just
a ton of fun and.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
Watching mister Terrific use the tea spheres to take out
an entire group of these raptors that are in somewhat
comic accurate purple and green lexpot suits. It was awesome
to see the circles. There's spheres, they're tea spheres. Circles
are two dimensional.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
Yeah, I like Raiseel and Brosna Han too. She's not
getting it, like, well, some people are talking about her
just because it's been just a ton of like everybody
else has just given a like a fun, fun performance.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
Uh, I mean Brosny had did pour an entire canister
of sugar into that coffee, So, which is again comics accurate,
Like that's how Lois takes her coffee in the comics.
It's just gun hold all these deep threads from nearly
ninety years of comics and said, this is what we're

(30:09):
gonna do, like the hypno glasses for Christ's sake, Like
the Justice thing comics accurate. Oh the Justice listen, that
is a comic accurate, Guy Gardner as well?

Speaker 3 (30:24):
How cool was that?

Speaker 2 (30:25):
Was so good?

Speaker 3 (30:26):
How was that? How cool was the Hall of Justice?

Speaker 2 (30:29):
Oh? So good? I literally go in the in the I.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
Mean they were finishing up finishing the e at the Justice.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
Yes, I also love billion using the green lantern powers
just big middle fingers. Yeah, so good.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Isabella said, very funs Well.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
But like I said Eddie out of that that trio
that we got to see perfect, like he's taking my car. Perfect,
Mister Terrific. That scene where he opens up the garage
and it's just.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
You have a flying sphere, but you your garage goes
to slow. I haven't fixed that yet.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Haven't haven't gotten to it yet, but we taken my car.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Yeah. Ver.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
Yes, the scene with the Kaiju was super fun.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
I love him showing that he he was protecting like
the city the infrastructure as well the.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Infrastructure, and he was also trying to protect the kaiju. Yes,
like like he didn't want to kill the kaiju. That's
that is such a Superman thing. And then like maybe
one of my low key favorite moments though, is when
Superman comes back to Clark's apartment and he's been we know,

(31:58):
he's been searching for crip dough and in the background
you just see the green lantern, Mister Terrific and Hawk
Girl fighting this dimensional imp in the middle of Metropolis.
It's just like in the scene that Lois and and
and Superman are having is a very serious scene, but

(32:22):
through the entirety of it, you're just seeing like guy
fire around and mister terrific with this tea sperits. It's
just it was very cool.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
I can't wait to watch it again.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
I'll probably literally cannot wait to watch it again. So
and I will.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
It will join my three time in the in the
theater club this this year, which is Companion. I saw
F one three times. Uh, and I'm act because like
there's some move. Oh my god, that movie is so good. Really,
it's so good. I can't wait to watch it again.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
Listen, twenty twenty five is shaping up to low funny.
Would be a really fun year at the movie theater.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
Not a great year.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
No, it's not nineteen ninety three.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
But he I might move my my four star ranking
of Superman to four and a half. Already have a
like on it.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
It it's four and a half for me. Like, it
is not perfect. It is not perfect. You know. I
would have loved for some of those characters to have
had more moments to breathe, like I said, Lois Perry, Jimmy.
For sure, I would have liked to have seen more Clark,
but then we would have had to sacrifice things like

(33:50):
Eddie is mister terrific, Nathan has got Gardner, you know,
stuff like that, so I would have liked to have
seen a little more lack being the billionaire that Lex
is that rather than a hater. But that's okay. He's
definitely a great sociopath, especially when he kills the falafel guy.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
Yes, oh my god, that was such a great scene, such.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
A great scene, although maybe more so a sociopath by
having an army of monkeys writing terrible reviews about Superman,
which is just again something so comic bookie that it
makes sense.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
I appreciate the fact that Lex, at least in my mind,
has always whenever there has been an adaptation, has always
fit the period, because Gene Hackman really fit that kind
of land tycoon yep uh Rosenbaum. He kind of like

(34:59):
the the jealousy. His was more jealousy than anything.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
Well, even Holt talks about how envy is his destiny, yes,
which which which was a great speed.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
He does he want to be mentioned in the same
vein as these other great people, know, because I don't
want to be mentioned with them. Is like and even
Jesse Eisenberg at the time tech bro he was he
was more like mouse. He was like animated, because that's
how you had to succeed in that world.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
He also sent to a Mason Jars.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
So funny, so funny, don't don't serve me? Uh peacht
and call it and don't serve me. Yeah. Also Holly Hunter, great.

Speaker 2 (35:49):
So good. Okay, I love you know, we haven't talked
about this yet. I loved and Paul Kent like they
just wanted to They just wanted to be in Clark's life.
That the speaker phone with mau Kent leaning down and
yelling into the phone, with Steve Lombard behind Clark yelling
into the phone talking about hit lens for Christ's sake,

(36:11):
like it it was so good and it was it
was good to see maw and Paul Kent and Paul
Kent not just be an afterthought of oh he died
and blah blah blah, like that's not even comics accurate.
That was a thing that happened in some adaptations. We
think it's comic accurate because seventy eight movie casts a
large shadow. But like, it was good to see both

(36:35):
of them and just how they interact with Clark, and
it was it was really cool to see.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
Yeah, I really loved it. I think the scene on
the bench whenever. Clark is also pretty down and his
father tells him, Hey, like, it's not our job to
tell you what you should be, it's or who you
need to be. You need to figure that out yourself.
And you're gonna make mistakes. And they just had that

(37:03):
little nice one on one. It kind of fizzles out
a little bit, but yeah, but the meat of it
is really good. So yeah, I I enjoyed. I always
just associated that. I always associate that actor as the
guy who drowned himself and out Constantine and Constantine. I
can't think of him as anything else. No.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
Same. Now, this is gonna be a movie that's You've
said it a couple of times. It's endlessly rewatchable. You're
gonna catch something new every time you watch it. There's
so many Easter eggs, two different DC properties. Jitters is
in there, which is from the Flash comics, Big Belly

(37:45):
Burgers in there, which is just yeah, well, I mean
it's just a decent, you know, fast food joint. We
saw Gotham on on the TV set, We saw the
Sphere News, we saw Global Broadcast System, the mater taper. Yeah,

(38:09):
I mean, like it's just it's so cool and I
will wax poetic about this movie until the end of
my days, because again, I got to live in a
time where we got a great Superman and a great
Superman story, and man, that just that fills my heart

(38:31):
with joy.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
It's beautiful to look at too.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
Yeah, And there were multiple times where it's just there's
no dialogue, there's no real action, like Superman's doing something
and the music's going, and my hair just stood up
on end, and like I started to tear up a
little bit, Like I I cannot place into words how

(38:56):
important this movie is for me and for people like me.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
Even got me who does not care about Superman to
really love this movie.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
It.

Speaker 3 (39:07):
I think it's moved into like number three on the
year for me. I think it's right behind Sinners. I can't.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
I have a hard time listen. Sinners was my first.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
You're you're allowed to like whatever you want. Next year,
you can put Superman as your number one.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
Cinners is my only five star, five out of five
star movie of the year so far.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
Okay, Superman favorite.

Speaker 2 (39:35):
Yeah, Superman's right behind it at four and a half stars.
I still think Sinners is my favorite movie of the
year so far. Okay, all right, But but just think
on that.

Speaker 3 (39:44):
I think on that it does.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
Have the same impact for me personally, like as a movie,
Sinners is a better movie. Yes, this movie Superman just
means more to me, if that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (39:58):
Absolutely, Nick. My my number one movie of the year
so far is still Companion over Centers. Yes I have, Yeah,
I have centers, Like I believe ranked a five star
and I think I only have a Companion as a
four star. But you know what, I love Companion.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
Yeah, I love opinions. My number three movie the year,
so it goes centers Superman Companion. But listen, I'm gonna
see Superman a few more times in theaters, so like
that could change. I think what what everyone should take
from this movie is it has something for everyone. It

(40:41):
understands what it is. It is a movie about a
character that strives to do good and to help humanity
be better. It's not just Superman's not an American. Superman

(41:01):
wants to be a human and he wants all of
humanity to be better through his acts. And that's just
a super positive outlook that everybody needs right now. Yeah,
and that's just important.

Speaker 3 (41:16):
Yeah, all right, Well, we've talked about Superman I believe
for forty five minutes, which is understandable. Sweet Hey, Nick, Yeah,
but any last thoughts on Superman before?

Speaker 2 (41:34):
I think we've touched it in the four billion minutes
we just talked about.

Speaker 3 (41:38):
It, Nick, We also topical. Uh. We got Emmy nominations today.
How about Severance with twenty seven?

Speaker 2 (41:51):
These Emmy nominations are one crazy two. Severance absolutely deserves
twenty seven nominations, like in like the one hundred.

Speaker 3 (42:06):
Deserve every single nomination.

Speaker 2 (42:09):
Yeah, every single one of them. Because Severance may have
been the best show of twenty twenty four, just bar none.

Speaker 3 (42:19):
It may be I don't maybe I like one more.

Speaker 2 (42:23):
I liked one better and we both did. The studio
in second place with Immy nominations at twenty three.

Speaker 3 (42:32):
I think tied with another series. But yeah, tied another series,
probably The Bear. Probably Okay, Nick, Uh, we can talk
about Okay, Best Outstanding Comedy Series. Obviously, there's Abbot Elementary
still love God. I'm actually in the process of rewatching
Abbot Elementary right now because it's just perfect. The Bear,

(42:55):
which I've only ever watched, the first season Hacks, which
I have not watched, which I do know.

Speaker 2 (42:59):
You good, It's so good.

Speaker 3 (43:02):
I don't know what nobody wants this is, but I
do remember isn't is Christen bell in that probably she's
a lot of things, only murders in the building, which
I believe when the sag last year, it's shrinking.

Speaker 2 (43:16):
A great show. By the way, Drinking is a phenomenal show.

Speaker 3 (43:20):
And if I were to give it to any other
show besides the Studio this year for comedy, if it
was going to be any year what we Do in
the Shadows, yes, because I don't. I think they've gotten
the nomination, but I don't think they've won yet.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
I don't believe they have. I mean they got beat
out by probably Deep eighty times.

Speaker 3 (43:43):
There's no shame in that. No, but I think that
was way after I think what we do in the
Shadow was I just yeah? But then yeah. Drama and
or Last of Us the Pitt Severance, White Life, those
are probably the more recognizable. There's also Diplomat, Paradise, Slow Horses.

Speaker 2 (44:08):
Yeah. The Outstanding Drama Series is a pretty stack category
along with the Comedy Series.

Speaker 3 (44:12):
I think that one's a lock, though I don't think
there's anything that's going to take down Severns for that category.

Speaker 2 (44:17):
No, no, No, I think Severance takes takes that big time.
I'm intrigued to see who wins Outstanding Talk Series. It
looks like they moved last week Tonight with John Oliver
to Scripted Variety Series against SNL, so so somebody else
could win. I guess.

Speaker 3 (44:39):
I think it, man, it really is. It's going to
take Saturday.

Speaker 2 (44:43):
Emmy, uh no, this is what John Olivers. Last week
Tonight is fantastic. But with the fiftieth anniversary special, Yeah,
you're not right being within the timeframe. I think Saturday
that life takes this. I don't Yeah, I just don't
see it going any other way. Outstanding Lead Actor in

(45:05):
a Comedy Series Adam Brody for Nobody Wants This Netflix show,
Seth Rogan for the Studio, Jason Siegel for Shrinking Martin
Short Only Murders in the Building, and Jeremy Allen White
for The Bear. I'm still unclear is how the Bear
gets placed in comedy series. But that's just me.

Speaker 3 (45:23):
Seth Rogen was good, Yeah, Seth.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
Rogen's really good. But I my money is on Jason
Siegel in this one, Okay, unless they just give it
to Marty just because he deserves an award.

Speaker 3 (45:39):
I believe he won the SAG last year. And then
you have Yeah, I knew that Christen Bell was and
nobody wants this. Yes, Quentin Brunson, there's a Duba Ao
at a Berry and Jean Smart. Geen Smart has been
on a role, but yeah, Ale could also take it.

Speaker 2 (45:57):
I need I need quin to Brunson, I know, but I.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
Think she won that for that first one, and I
think everybody else is just kind of caught up. I
love Quinta, but it's just a it's a stack category.
Geene Smart's a legends Ao has been killing it.

Speaker 2 (46:14):
Lead lead actors stacked as well. In a drama series,
You've got Sterling K. Brown, who I could watch fold
laundry and be extremely happy about it, Gary Oldman, who
is a legend, Pedro Pascal in the Last of Us,
which I mean he's freaking Pedro Pascal, Adam Scott for Severance,

(46:35):
who could very easily win this. And then you've got
Noah Wiley for the Pit, which everybody was talking about
while it was on, like I could see any of
those actors getting it. But I think this is a
three horse race, no point intended versus low horses. I
think this is a Pedro Pascal versus Adam Scott versus
no Noah Wiley. And I think Adam Scott.

Speaker 3 (46:57):
Takes it, yes, so do I I mean he cares
like he played two very different characters. Yeah, that's why.
I also think Britt Lower is probably gonna take drama
as well. But I think, I mean Kate Kathy Bates people.
The people voting are watching Matt Locke.

Speaker 2 (47:18):
Yeah, Sharon har that's still a joke in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (47:24):
Sharon Horgan and Bad Sisters. It's Conan's favorite show. Yes, so,
and he loves Sharon Horgan. So I do trust Conan.
But I think Britt Lower that another like Monster season
as well. Yeah, I think it's also I think it's
hers to lose. I don't know enough about Penguin so,

(47:46):
and I didn't really watch any of these.

Speaker 2 (47:50):
Presumed Innocent is great. I could see Jake Jillenhall running
away with this.

Speaker 3 (47:55):
I heard a lot of good things about adolescents.

Speaker 2 (47:58):
I want Brian Tyree Henry to win this. I mean
he deserves it.

Speaker 3 (48:02):
I love Brian Tyree Henry.

Speaker 2 (48:04):
Dope Thief was fantastic.

Speaker 3 (48:06):
Nice her. Michelle Williams love her.

Speaker 2 (48:15):
Yeah, Michelle Williams was great in that I could see
her taking that.

Speaker 3 (48:21):
Always love Hershida, Oh, Meghan Fay, he's the one who's
in Drop. Who isn't that show with Melly Alcock. Yeah,
I believe Julianne Moore is or something that as well.
But also Kate Bunch, I mean nominated actress as well. Yeah,
Baron Old Scott a nomination, which is awesome. I don't
know his his his his chances.

Speaker 2 (48:46):
I listen, I I just don't see it happening for
Ike unfortunately. I think I think Coleman Domingo takes this.

Speaker 3 (48:55):
Yeah, he's not. I mean, The Four Seasons is not
the role that he would get this for. I've watched
the Four Seasons. I don't think he'd get the Emmy
for for four Seasons. I'm just saying he's Coleman Domingo
and that carries weight right now exactly. But The Four
Seasons is not an Emmy winning show as far as
I can say, I'd rather Bowen Yang get this in

(49:18):
my opinion.

Speaker 2 (49:20):
Well, you know what, I take back my Coleman Domingo.
I think it's I think it's Evan. His character arc
is pretty fascinating in that show.

Speaker 3 (49:33):
I still need to catch up Janelle James. I would
love for her to win.

Speaker 2 (49:38):
For I need Catherine O'Hara to win the Outstanding Supporting
Actress in a Comedy Series. I need this in my life, Emmy's.

Speaker 3 (49:49):
I don't think like I love her. I don't think
she did enough this season.

Speaker 2 (49:53):
I don't think you did enough this season.

Speaker 3 (49:55):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. H I love Katherine O'Hara,
trust me, I love her. I know you do, but
I like she What name a scene besides the pilot
the first seasons season? I see, you're right.

Speaker 2 (50:14):
I agree. The question is which White Lotus or which
Severance actor wins Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Speaker 3 (50:28):
Jesus Trammel, Tillan Trammel. It's between Walton Goggins and Trammel.

Speaker 2 (50:37):
I need Zach Cherry to win this.

Speaker 3 (50:40):
Trammel Tillman destroyed season two of Severans.

Speaker 2 (50:44):
Absolutely, that man. I love Zach Cherry to win this.

Speaker 3 (50:48):
That man was a force of nature.

Speaker 2 (50:50):
So many reasons. I want Zach Cherry to win this.

Speaker 3 (50:52):
If it was the first season, Absolutely, Zack Cherry. Also,
he did have a really Dylan did have a really
good season with his wife. That God, that was heartbreaking too. Yes,
but Trammel Killman for the win. I don't know if Patricia.
I don't feel like Patricia Okay also didn't do.

Speaker 2 (51:15):
I don't think she deserves it for this. I don't
think she deserved.

Speaker 3 (51:18):
That one off episode was great, but she was not
in all a ton of this season.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
Having having seen all the shows. For Best Supporting Actress,
I give this personally to Catherine Lanassa from The Pit Okay,
her character was so compelling. But a nurse. I've also
been a nurse for twenty years, so like that's probably.

Speaker 3 (51:45):
Why I haven't been any of the the the careers
that these people are.

Speaker 2 (51:53):
Yeah, the again the limited Ornithology Best Supporting Actor. I
would love to see Rob Delaney win this. Uh Dying
a great limited series, but I I just don't know

(52:14):
on that one. I think Peter Sarsgarden may get this.
Presumed Innocent was really good. Bill Camp was great in
it as well, But man, it would be great to
see Rob Delaney win that.

Speaker 3 (52:28):
I think it's going to go to Owen Cooper. For adolescents.
That kid, yeah great, great role for a kid. Yeah,
he did a good job.

Speaker 2 (52:39):
I would also like to see Jenny Slate win for
Best Supporting Actress in the Limited series.

Speaker 3 (52:46):
Yeah, I'm not as familiar with this. I do love
Ruth Naga. I think she's a good actor. I haven't
seen Presumed Innocent, but you've been talking a lot about it.
You should check it out.

Speaker 2 (52:56):
It's good.

Speaker 3 (52:57):
Okay, and then we'll have to go in to the
technicals stuff right now. But yeah, do you.

Speaker 2 (53:03):
Think Nathan Fielder gets an Emmy or Yes, Outstanding Directing
Nathan Fielder for the rehearsal is going up against the studio,
the wonner with against Seth Rogen.

Speaker 3 (53:22):
I think that's got a win, right, Rogan the one,
it's the Okay, it's the wonder that's It's insane to
think another another show could take that that most of
the season was a wonner.

Speaker 2 (53:38):
Yeah, we do get Ben Stiller versus Mike White in
Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, which is amazing.

Speaker 3 (53:47):
To think about.

Speaker 2 (53:48):
Twenty twenty five. We get Ben Stiller and Mike White
for Outstanding Director in a Drama Series.

Speaker 3 (53:56):
We've known about these, We've known more about Ben Stiller
like our entire life. But yes, Mike White was just
this guy that showed up in a lot of movies
that we watched. He was in School of Rock for
ChRI Sneaply, He's sneeply.

Speaker 2 (54:12):
He's steeply. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (54:15):
I love Mike White.

Speaker 2 (54:17):
I do love Mike White.

Speaker 3 (54:18):
I loved him as an actor.

Speaker 2 (54:20):
Yes, can we talk about the best category though? What?

Speaker 3 (54:25):
Oh yes, oh yes, come on now. It wouldn't be
this show if we didn't talk about best guest Actor
in a comedy series.

Speaker 2 (54:33):
This is the single most stacked guest actor thing like
this is ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (54:40):
The least notable person in the best guest actor category
is Dave Franko, and he's.

Speaker 2 (54:48):
A pretty well known commodity.

Speaker 3 (54:51):
He's about to I can't wait for his movie. You
can't like This year has gone by way too fast,
and yet I the thirtieth can't get here fast enough.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
It's gonna be so good.

Speaker 3 (55:02):
I cannot wait to see together. It's I want it
so bad.

Speaker 2 (55:06):
Two of my favorite actors together.

Speaker 3 (55:08):
Literally, I've loved what's her name. I've loved Alfonbrie forever.
I've loved Dave Franco for around the same time, and
before they even met each other. I've loved them and
I love them together.

Speaker 2 (55:26):
Let's go through this list of guest actors though, which
again is absolutely ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (55:32):
It's either somebody from the Bear, one person from the Bear.

Speaker 2 (55:36):
From the Bear who is a fucking fantastic.

Speaker 3 (55:39):
Actor, love John Burenthal.

Speaker 2 (55:42):
And then you get one, two, three, no four, no
five actors from the studio, all playing themselves, which is
so stupid.

Speaker 3 (55:56):
And the person who should win is Dave Franco. If
they're good, if they're gonna give it to somebody, it's
gonna be Cranston. Uh.

Speaker 2 (56:04):
I think Ron Howard is the sneaky pick here.

Speaker 3 (56:07):
I think Ron Howard is the person who technically should win.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
But if his scenes in the Note so good when.

Speaker 3 (56:19):
He gets like nosed and nose with sex, it's the
like there's so much tension in that single, Like in
that one boardroom scene, it's the most perfect scene because
just they want to get the notes about and Anthony
Mack you plan to help them, just biales immediately it's

(56:42):
my it's the funniest. But no, Dave Franco when the
Shrooming episode it's he put he was a tour to force.
And then the second episode of the The Vegas Trip
when he just turns it on and then collapse as
soon as he's done.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
He's at his most. Dave Franco really in those in
that episode.

Speaker 3 (57:06):
When they give him the recap on episode ten, as
coked up, Dave Franco talking about stealing money from the
mob using his magic that he learned from now you
see me it is and then also thanks Seth for
letting me promote my magic movies. I'm sorry, kid, it was.

(57:33):
It was.

Speaker 2 (57:33):
This show is so good.

Speaker 3 (57:35):
I'm starting to rewatch tonight. Yeah, I have.

Speaker 2 (57:38):
One thousand percent starting to rewatch tonight. Thank you.

Speaker 3 (57:41):
Actually, I gotta finish Raw. We'll get to we'll get
to wrestler. We'll talk about wrestling tomorrow. I'll talk about
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (57:50):
You know the it's stacked. As guest actor at a
comedy series, is I feel like outstanding guests actress in
a comedy series is just as stacked. Yes, and then
outstanding guest actor in a drama series is also just

(58:11):
as stacked. It's it's crazy.

Speaker 4 (58:13):
In fact, you're outstanding, Zoe Kravitz, You're outstanding, You're out
outstanding guest actress in a comedy series.

Speaker 2 (58:24):
Olivia Coleman, she was the fucking Queen.

Speaker 5 (58:29):
Oscar winner, Yes, Oscar Wind, Jamie Lee Curtis, Oscar winner,
Cynthia Arrivo, Oscar Oscar nominee.

Speaker 2 (58:39):
Yes, which poker Face so good? Uh?

Speaker 3 (58:44):
Zoe Kravitz, Robbie Hoffman too.

Speaker 2 (58:47):
Robbie Hoffman and Juliette Nicholson.

Speaker 3 (58:51):
H crazy Nicholson too, But Zoe Kravitz like also the
streaming scene, yes, like where so? Uh? It was so good?

Speaker 2 (59:05):
Uh, you're outstanding guest actor in a drama series. Jean
Carlo Esposito, who is a tour de force in everything
he's ever been in. Scott Glenn, who is a legend
in Hollywood. Uh. I know Sean has had to see

(59:29):
he's kind of that guy, So we'll take him out.
But Joey Pants, Forrest Whittaker, and Jeffrey Wright.

Speaker 3 (59:40):
I would eliminate the two Joey Pants and Jeffrey Wright.
I don't think they did enough this season. Well, it
is guest actor, nah now even not even as in
the scenes.

Speaker 2 (59:53):
I think I think Jeffrey Wright is up there man.

Speaker 3 (59:57):
Yeah, that that time.

Speaker 2 (59:58):
I would play Jeffrey Wright as Isaac over Joey Pans.

Speaker 3 (01:00:02):
That torture scene was pretty good.

Speaker 6 (01:00:05):
Yeah, I'd probably uh oh, actually don't know in this category.

Speaker 3 (01:00:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
So like again, it's it's crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:00:21):
It's gonna be a good year. It was a great
year of television.

Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
It was even the Outstanding Narrator category is great. So
this is just ridiculous, Like these Emmys, it's gonna be
a fun one to watch. It's uh step September seventh
for the prime Time Performance Frintime Performance categories, and Nate

(01:00:47):
Margatzi is hosting.

Speaker 3 (01:00:51):
Uh uh September fourteenth.

Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
The awards are scheduled to be presented on September sixth
and seventh.

Speaker 3 (01:01:00):
Creative Arts, the ceremoni is September fourteenth. Oh, Creative Arts
Emmys are are directing and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
I was on the the the performing edit. Whatever doesn't matter.
It's gonna be on CBS September fourteenth. You are correct.
I apologize, but Nick Margatsey is hosting, so it should
be pretty damn good. I believe it will be all right.

(01:01:38):
Before Drew falls asleep.

Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
Let's fine, I just yawned.

Speaker 2 (01:01:41):
Yeah, let's talk a little bit about w W E
is a forty damn big weekend. We had SmackDown followed
by Saturday Night's main event, followed by Evolution, followed by Raw.
So four events in four days, not counting the n
x T show. Also, I did watch that too, Yeah,

(01:02:06):
so so five in five days.

Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
Hey, we got Mariah May in the ring for the
first time. That was good.

Speaker 2 (01:02:13):
I was I was getting ready to bring that up.
It was good to see.

Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
Trick Willie still cool.

Speaker 2 (01:02:21):
Mm hm uh. As far as SmackDown goes, it was fine.

Speaker 3 (01:02:29):
Like there was it was a good setup.

Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
Yeah, it was good setup for Saturday night main event.
I will say this about Saturday Night main event. I
thought it was terrible.

Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
Yeah, it was underwhelming.

Speaker 2 (01:02:40):
I thought it was terrible.

Speaker 3 (01:02:42):
Like and the result that came out of it is
even worse. Seth Rawlins possibly out indefinitely.

Speaker 2 (01:02:50):
At least ten to twelve months on the low end,
is what I'm seeing. If it is in fact an
ACL injury. Yeah yeah, so uh, Creative is going to
be working overtime over the next week.

Speaker 3 (01:03:05):
They loses. That's how it works. How it works. Every
every summer, we lose like two big names and Roman
Reigns had to come back to fill in the spot.

Speaker 2 (01:03:17):
Who's the second one? Oh, that's right, that's right. I'm sorry,
I had so much has happened, so much has happened
over the last weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:03:27):
Sorry, the w W right now our Cody Rhoads Live,
Morgan Seth Rawlins, Roman Reigns when he's there, and uh
rear Ripley.

Speaker 2 (01:03:39):
Yeah, yeah, I mean they they already had to rewrite
an entire storyline with the judgment day and and the
tag titles, and probably the women's titles too, if I
had to guess, because it Live went out and now
that Seth is out, like the entire main story of

(01:04:02):
this new Factoration, faction, whatever we want to talk about it,
that's all got to be rewritten.

Speaker 3 (01:04:09):
Yeah. I mentioned last week at least uh bron Breaker
was kind of already setting up departure and we could
end up getting a great bron Breaker versus Bronson Reid
match basically for the for the rights to uh what's
his name? Paul Haman, And I think that goes to

(01:04:30):
bron Breaker. I think bron Breaker needs a because I
think Bronson Reid by himself as just that tsunami. I
think he'll be a main eventor I think right now,
I think, especially right now, he needs to be a
main inventor.

Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
There needs to be a good heel.

Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
Yes that you know, bron Breakers step right up.

Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
Yeah. Yeah, So Raw was really interesting last night.

Speaker 3 (01:05:01):
A lot of women's matches and I'm okay with it,
my let's talk.

Speaker 2 (01:05:04):
About Evolution for speaking of women's matches. I'm sorry, great, Yeah,
because I thought Evolution might have been the best ple
of the year. It's it's up there, like I'm not
even like exaggerating that Evolution was phenomenal.

Speaker 3 (01:05:22):
They all know how to work man like. They they're
all good work rate wrestlers because they kind of have
to be. They're all like the only ones. Like they're
all just great, Like it's a great roster.

Speaker 2 (01:05:36):
And and ww we had some balls to do what
they did on Evolution. Excuse me, Evolution, Like the NXC
Championship was up for grabs. I thought Jordan Grace was
going to come away with the title. She did not,
you know, I thought they very clever and how they

(01:06:00):
pulled that off. I cannot speak more highly of the
EO versus Rea match.

Speaker 3 (01:06:10):
It was so good, like damn near match of the year,
if not match of the year. Yeah with eo us
just like kind of she's the genius so smooth, so smooth,
and she she's just really good at the wrestling.

Speaker 2 (01:06:31):
And she hypes up the crowd so much.

Speaker 3 (01:06:34):
Yeah, and the thing is with with Rea rear Re
really gives her uh an opportunity to really have to
show off some of that that high flying ability to
just because you have to get Ria down and uh yeah,
fantastic match. I love the finish. I don't like I
I thought the finish was perfect.

Speaker 2 (01:06:55):
I thought it was perfect.

Speaker 3 (01:06:57):
I am not afraid to say, like I love I've
been hyping up Naomi.

Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
For You've been hyping up Naomi for sure. The Naomi
cashing in was was done very well. Yeah, it was
done exceptionally well. I thought that the Evolution Battle Royale
was good. It was nice to see Stephanie va Kerr

(01:07:23):
get a big bump.

Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
There and Lash Legend being the second.

Speaker 2 (01:07:27):
Last Legend being the second to last. Yeah. Lash is
going to be a great main roster performer.

Speaker 3 (01:07:33):
I can't wait.

Speaker 2 (01:07:35):
I'm in. I thought the weakest match of the night
was was was Tiffany versus Trish And that's probably because
Trisha is like fifty years old. Yeah, we already get
Why did we get two fifty year olds Wrestling in
title shots this weekend nostalgia. I thought that the Fatal

(01:07:59):
four we tag match was done really well.

Speaker 3 (01:08:02):
I think we're you know, I love a tag match.

Speaker 2 (01:08:04):
Yeah, I think we're seeing a face turn for Charlotte Flair.

Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
Yeah, she's getting a lot of sympathy right now because
of that article that came out.

Speaker 2 (01:08:14):
And good.

Speaker 3 (01:08:15):
I mean, she she's Ashley is a person too, and
she doesn't deserve to be hated just because she hasn't
done anything bad. Really, no, she just hated because they
want to hate her.

Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
Yeah. Always always going to be a huge Alexa Bliss fan.
She's so good. All I wanted was a sister Abigail
and I didn't get it. Uh, props to Roxanne Parades.
She is fitting into this new storyline for Judgment Day
rather well, I'm really good in the ring.

Speaker 3 (01:08:51):
I'm like, she's very good. And the fact that she's
in the I was thinking about that last night during Raw.
I was like, it's kind of weird that Rocks Empress
is in the Judgment Day because shouldn't she like be
by herself for a little bit. But she's just like it,
next man up and she Judgment Day is all about
next man that the history of that that fashion is

(01:09:15):
next man up.

Speaker 2 (01:09:16):
I love watching Osca and Kyrie saying Russell.

Speaker 3 (01:09:22):
Kyrie is is my favorite. But watching.

Speaker 2 (01:09:27):
It is so good to have Oscar back.

Speaker 3 (01:09:30):
Like that girl is insane, insane, Like she makes it
look so effortless, the combinations that she does.

Speaker 2 (01:09:40):
Ah, and then you know, it was a pretty good
triple threat match to start the night with Becky Lyra
and Bailey.

Speaker 3 (01:09:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
I love Bailey so much. I need to have Bailey
win gold at some point in the near future. It's
it's like the fact that she didn't get to wrestle
at WrestleMania.

Speaker 3 (01:10:05):
She's kind of like Sammy's ain.

Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
Yeah, oh man, you're.

Speaker 3 (01:10:09):
Right, she's gotten the mountaintop. Though she's she's reached the mountaintop.

Speaker 2 (01:10:15):
She has she definitely has you. You are correct. But yeah,
it the whole damn thing, the whole damn night. Even
though I thought the weakest one was Tiff versus Trish.

Speaker 3 (01:10:29):
It was still still saying Trish Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:10:31):
It was still a good lot of her. So there
was not a moment where I was not happy I
was watching it.

Speaker 3 (01:10:40):
Yeah, So like sorry to bring this back to F one, yeah,
F one has done so well that the branding that is,
like the main brand, has sold forty million dollars in
sponsorship for their fictional team since the movie's come out. Lord,
But there is no actual like normal streaming rights for

(01:11:05):
F one in the United States. But because Apple produced
this movie and it's this movie is doing insane numbers. Yes,
they're gonna start probably covering F one like next season.

Speaker 2 (01:11:17):
Wow, Wow, it's it's a good movie.

Speaker 3 (01:11:23):
Can't wait to watch it again.

Speaker 2 (01:11:26):
Uh, let's let's let's uh talk about raw. Excuse me,
I kind of stop us talking about wrong because I
wanted to talk about evolution. I'm sorry. You know, we
uh we get to see a triple threat at SummerSlam

(01:11:47):
for ah the women's title.

Speaker 3 (01:11:51):
It's gonna be yes Naomi uh riha and eo. Yes,
I can't wait for that match.

Speaker 2 (01:11:58):
It's gonna be great.

Speaker 3 (01:12:00):
Better not take it off Naomi and she she needs
to get like the pen.

Speaker 2 (01:12:04):
She needs to Yes, I agree, there needs to be
a long story with Naomi. Yeah, because I think they'll
probably set up Jade versus Naomi at Mania.

Speaker 3 (01:12:15):
I think Jade versus versus Naomi versus Bianca. Yeah, it's
what I've I called that like at the very end
of last rus Mania. I want that's what I want.
I think it'll happen. I think there it's in place,
because I don't think. I don't know if Naomi holds
it until Mania because that's a long time.

Speaker 2 (01:12:37):
That's a long time.

Speaker 3 (01:12:40):
But I'm excited. I don't know what's happening, but I'm excited. No,
I'm I'm super super excited for this. I even like
I'm looking forward to Lira versus Becky again or actually
I don't know if we've actually gotten that by itself yet,
but yeah, we did an next and I think appeally. Sorry,

(01:13:04):
I'm just excited about wrestling right now. Wrestling is still
good right now. Politics of it have always up and
they will always continue to suck, but wrestling's good.

Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
Uh Yeah, Gunther came out after Seamus and Russev.

Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
Who's challenging gun There? Who challenged gun There? Did we
get that last night?

Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
Yes, we did get that last night. It's seam Punk.

Speaker 3 (01:13:43):
Oh that was the main event. Okay, yeah, sorry, it was.

Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
A breaker versus Punk versus jay Uso versus l A
Night versus Pentah, and seam Punk got the win and
then this was after bron Brinker possibly murdered Penta with
another ridiculous spear uh, and then l a Night with

(01:14:09):
a ridiculous spear, and then ja Uso with a ridiculous spear.

Speaker 3 (01:14:15):
One might say he has a ridiculous spear.

Speaker 2 (01:14:17):
Yeah, but CM Punk hit the the gs, becoming the
number one contender against Gunther. But then Bronson reed decided
to ambush Punk and tried to murder both Punk and
jay Usso with the tsunami until the OTC came out.

(01:14:37):
Roman reigns his back everyone.

Speaker 3 (01:14:40):
He had to be.

Speaker 2 (01:14:42):
They're they're running out of temples.

Speaker 3 (01:14:46):
I mean yeah, I'm okay, Like it's him Punk versus
gun Through. I mean he he. He helped run a
fifteen minute match with with with Goldberg, and Punk's in
much better shape, so he's still an older guy.

Speaker 2 (01:15:07):
Yeah, well man, that listen. We'll back up a little
bit to Saturday night main event. That match sucked. Yeah,
that match was awful. I thought Goldberg almost killed Gunther
with that fucking jackknife. I wanted Brett Hart to come

(01:15:29):
out and just like Hunch Goldberg in the dick.

Speaker 3 (01:15:33):
Yeah yeah, all right, well, uh, clash in Paris is
soon uh, SummerSlam soon.

Speaker 2 (01:15:42):
SummerSlam is the next event. It is August second and third.
It will be from MetLife Stadium, home of both the
New Jersey Giants and the New Jersey Jets. Yeah, and
then Clash in Paris is I believe leave August thirty
first at the end of the month, and then we're

(01:16:06):
on the road to Survivor Series. At that point, Stephanie
Va Kerr will get a title shot against Tiffany Stratton
at Clash in Paris.

Speaker 3 (01:16:19):
Yes, and at.

Speaker 2 (01:16:21):
Some point Jade will get a title shot against whomever
the other women's champion will be.

Speaker 3 (01:16:28):
Yeah. Hey, Nick, I just want to highlight real quick.
I got just I talked about it last week, but
I got to see an early screening of the movie OHI,
which stars Molly Gordon and Logan Laherman and Geraldine This
with Nathan very funny. It's just a two people who
go to a cabin. One person doesn't A couple goes

(01:16:49):
to a cabin. One of them doesn't know that they're
an actual couple.

Speaker 2 (01:16:54):
Oh God, and.

Speaker 3 (01:16:58):
It's very funny. After Molly Gordon gets to go off
pretty pretty insane and Logan Lanherman gets to be a
bit of a bad guy and Geraldine and I can't
remember the other guy very funny in the movie as well.

Speaker 2 (01:17:17):
It's Don Reynolds.

Speaker 3 (01:17:18):
Yeah, it's a very fun movie.

Speaker 2 (01:17:21):
I see David Cross is also in the movie.

Speaker 3 (01:17:23):
Yes, David Cross is very funny. He shows up. I'm
in a couple of times. But yeah, even if, like
you have to wait till it goes with streaming or
vod you should definitely watch OHI. It's very fun. It's stupid.
It's a very stupid like romantic like it's not romantic comedy.
It's like a situational comedy. But yeah, OHI is very fun.

(01:17:43):
I can't wait for together.

Speaker 2 (01:17:46):
It's ninety minutes. It's a good, easy watch.

Speaker 3 (01:17:48):
It sounds like so yeah, and then Game Changer this
week was a lot of fun. It was a viral
whatever it goes, most viral wins and we'll find out
in a month.

Speaker 2 (01:18:01):
Was this I haven't watched it yet. Is this the
breast milk taste test?

Speaker 3 (01:18:05):
Jesus Christ, that was one of them. That one is
probably the most was the most watch.

Speaker 2 (01:18:13):
Me taste my best friend's brist milk, And.

Speaker 3 (01:18:16):
That one was probably the most insane. But I remember
one I enjoyed more. Uh, I enjoyed that I thought
was probably the most insane. But the breast milk one
with three of the cast members of Game Changer that
they had pasteurized was definitely I was not expecting that

(01:18:39):
to show up in an Absolute Changer, but it sure
did and did, and the taste test itself is something
because she goes in for quite a bit.

Speaker 2 (01:18:54):
Game Changer, Get dropout Tea dot tv. Apparently we're not
gonna have Brennan because he's going to be making shoots
American Girl Dolls.

Speaker 3 (01:19:05):
Hey, Nick, anything else you want to bring up?

Speaker 2 (01:19:09):
No, we we've talked for so long, and we've talked
about so.

Speaker 3 (01:19:12):
Little, So Little. Best guest Actor in a comedy series
campaign starts now, go Dave Franco. Yes, Nick, Where can
they find you?

Speaker 2 (01:19:24):
