gonna have a feeling, this is gonna be a WrestleMania.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
But I figured I would go with a semi quote
from Peacemaker when John Econmos frames Peacemaker's dad for the
massacre at Gotcha, and Peacemaker gives him a list of
individuals he could have framed instead, two of which were
arians from Yes.

The most impressive thing about that that entire scene is
that's all just like mostly one take, and it was
just John Sena listing as many people as possim. Steve
ag had to just real and fictional fiction to just
sit there and just not break because God forbid, if
you like. I think they did add some cuts in there,

but I mean he he went on for a while
I think they kicked that camera on him for a
little bit. Ever, I didn't rewatch the first season because
the second season coming out relatively soon.

Actually, I mean it's gonna happen during his we can
talk about it. I mean John Cena is the WWE
champion and he'll probably be holding it and doing honestly,
probably a Paul Rudd level of advertising for his movies
when going on talk shows where he doesn't talk about

is the funny. Like Gause, Paul Rudd was on the
Tonight Show and he was there to promote Death of
a Unicorn and they didn't get to it, and John
was They ended it with he's Paul Rudd is older

than John Stewart and how unfair that is. But and
then John was like, you know, we were supposed to
talk about Death of a Unicorn. And then the movie
with Tim Robinson. I can't remember the name of it,
and he's like, it's all right because it's the same
thing with him on Conan. He never actually actually he

never mentioned the thing he was there to promote. But
he'll be like, there'll be plenty of peacemaker stuff. Yeah,
hell yeah, oh yeah, he'll he'll just I don't know,
maybe I don't know how he's going to approach that
he's going to ruin wrestling.

Yes, No, My favorite part about that scene was the
lead up, or was the ending of him giving the list.
He just looks at Steve Agy and goes, shut the
fuck up and listen, man, I'm giving you a list
of people you could have done. It's right up there.
It's right up there with Vigilante in the prison. And

he goes, let's each say something we're grateful for that
black people have contributed to American culture.

I'll go first first, that that show was so well written.
And Daniel Brooks, I mean, Daniel Brooks is doing great
now too. She was funny in the Minecraft movie. I mean,
I like, I mean, we haven't really seen the guy
who played Digilante and much. I mean, of course, he's

probably done plenty, but it's just that we just have
not been familiar with. But I'm I'm excited for the
next season. Steve Agy's great. He just shows up in
things outside Dave.

John Econamos is a great character.

Economos is such a great character. Well, I think he
actually voices somebody on the on the DC shows too.

He both voices John Econamos on Great Your Commandos. Yeah,
because Waller and he are both in it.

God, I mean the fact that he gets to work
directly with Viola Davis. Yeah, Steve ag Outside Dave, God,
I love Outside Dave. He's one of the better tear
sheary characters in New Girl.

Yeah, I almost as good as Rod Bunches.

Well, he's only in that one episode, but he's like,
he's memorable. Yes, uh my. One of my favorites is
definitely Justin Long uh Genslinger. Yes, so because like he

I love Clerks, but writing Clerks. It's also better than Maulrats,
which was my foray. First foray into Kevin Smith movies,
Dogma is mine. I don't know if I like it
better than Dogma, though I know.

I mean that's that's the hard thing. Is Dogma actually
his best? Because I think it probably that's so perfectly
like constructed.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
The question becomes is Dogma actually a good movie? Or
am I just remembering it fondly because I loved it
twenty years ago.

You're right, You're right, I should revisit it.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
I do have need to revisit it. I have it
on physical Blu ray.

I do know Zach and Mary is great because I
have what that's actually one of the movies I've probably
watched the most as an adult. That's so. Yeah, if
you haven't watched Zach and Mary, how did we get

Us and you've just witnessed our fifteen minute tangent at
the beginning of the episode. Let's let's let's let's actually
go straight into WrestleMania UH two night event. We made
a lot of predictions.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
What was your favorite match? I want to I want
to know that.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
My favorite match probably was a Hie at the top
of the main event of Night one went exactly how
I hoped it would go, not not just from a
prediction standpoint, but it was just a well thought out,
well performed story.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
UH.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
I agree, had one of the most magnificent entrances in
the history of wrestling. Seeing Punk's entrance was amazing. He
had living color there, live singing cult of personality, which amazing.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
I love that. On Twitter I called them in living color, yes,
because it was my brothers were not there. I know
it was my fault because I was like, is it
living color? Is it in living color? And Michael Cole
did me wrong because he said in living color. So
I was like, Okay, it is in living color and yeah,

but no, it was great to see, I think. I
that's when Seth Frickin' Rollins graduated to Seth fucking Wrestleming,
especially after the result.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Yeah, and then I will it's like a one A
one B situation. I think the the triple threat match
between EO Rhea and That's most fantastic.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
That was my favorite match hands I.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
Think it was technically, like wrestling wise, the best match
of both.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
It was incredible. I like I It's not even because
EO one and I called it. That was just like
they worked off each other so perfectly, like like because
they they gave each other, like they all three of
them worked with each other individually so many times in
so many creative ways. And then at the end when

they honestly started putting together all those finishes and all
those near falls, and it was it was that best
match of.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
That rip tide off the off the second rope was
pretty fantastic. All of EO's skywork is always great. You know,
she is the genius of the sky and beyond it's
just a freak freaking athlete.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Like I mean, favorite get too, favorite gear of the
weekend too.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
That My favorite gear goes to SETH.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
I love it. I love it because you've got to
wear all white, and we don't get that very much.
A lot of people were all white last night over
the weekend.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
I will say that, you know, talking about finishers that
spear into a pedigree that yeah, that that second. It's
something that was pretty awesome.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
It's something that he has truly perfected, like he used
to put it on TV, and every once in a
while he will, especially if it's the main event of
the night, which seth rawlins. Usually if he is wrestling.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
He's the best.

See literally is.

I will also give massive props to the L. A.
Knight Jacob FOTU match.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Great match, great.

I thought it was done exceedingly well. I think uh
Knight had some great moments during the match.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
He didn't. It was it was a sorry I cut
you off, no go ahead, go ahead. They nobody came
off that match looking bad. L A. Knight looked fantastic
and a loss. I mean it was it was honestly,
that was Night one, right, yeah, yeah, because that's where
like almost all the simones won. Yes, yes, I mean honestly,

it was just the two I think.

Yeah, two out of three. Yeah, I mean, hey, you're
you're you're definitely in the Hall of Fame in baseball
for going two out of three every night, is all
I'm saying.

It's a great family.

Some of my low lights, and I'd like to hear
your thoughts as well. Let's throw the Randy Orton match
out the window. That was just fan service, yeah, but
it was well done, good meaning fan service, yes, But
for those of you who don't know, we all believed
for a brief moment in time.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
And it's a good moment. But the thing is, have
you listened to the carry and Cross basically? Yes? Yes,
he said, I never asked for the match against but honestly,
I it would have made sense. He He's included himself

(12:07):
in so many storylines. Yea, he showed up on on
aj Styles's match, but he could have. Like hope, I
hope that pipe bomb does more good than harm because
at one point it did feel like it was a
straight shoot. And yeah, a part of it it looked.

(12:33):
It looked like a work for just a second, and
I imagine some of it is because Carrying Cross is
always working as hard as he can.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
He's professional, he is a consummate professional.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
But at the end, I think he got a little
worked up. And I hope, like I said, I hope
it does more good than harm because I like Carrying Cross.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
I hope I hope Triple H takes it to heart
and we see Carrion Cross get some good matches in
the near future, Like we could be working him into
big storylines because he's a great storyteller. Yeah, and he's
a technical beast in the ring.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
He is incredible on the mic. Yes, Scarlett is a
great manager.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
They had the heat during that interview was palpable.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
For a while. They took away his incredible entrance, the
thing that gave him aura and more recently, I think
I'm last week's raw. They gave him his entrance back.
They did, but why would you take off part of
the aura that like, that's what do you think? Bray
Wyatt kind of like he was incredible in the ring, Yeah,

but the thing that separates you from your peers is
what you bring by not doing anything or by by
speaking in your character. What do you bring? And one
of the things that they brought to the table was
that entrance that was a like it was like they
shot like saying and it was just like it had

so many moving parts. It looked great. Why take that
away unless he didn't want it? But I doubt, Like
I'd say, it's such a great interest it involves his wife,
which he would love to do because they they work together.
They and it's clear that they care about each other,
so I.

Think, and it's clear that they work well together.

Yeah, I mean, I really do hope that this does
some good for him. So I would love for Randy too, honestly,
take it upon him this upcoming SmackDown.

got spoilers for you.

Okay, I haven't watched any of her all yet.

I know spoilers for you. Okay, we'll throw Randy Orton's
match out. Yes, we got Joe Hendry at Russellmania. It
was a fun fan service moment. My low lights would
include h Night one. I thought that the war Raiders
and New Day match was pretty terrible. I'm not gonna lie,

I it was. I there was no build up between
those tag teams. And I get that you've been building
the New Days as the heels of the tag team circuit.
I just think there was a better way to tell

(15:30):
the story and and the match was quick, and it
just wasn't impressive. And when you're talking about WrestleMania, where
one hundred and twenty five thousand people came to see
incredible you know, storylines end. I think you can do better.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
And my my thing is especially with this unfortunately, like
I can't who are who are the tag teams un Raw?
That's the that's the problem. Who are the tag teams
on Raw? And we have the war Raiders we have.
I want to say, there has to be one of
the Mexican I can say I'm Mexican, one of the

Mexican luchador teams. I believe right there's is Legato No
Logato's on SmackDown SmackDown? Is it the l w O
Are they on?

Yes? L WO is on Raw, Zelena is on SmackDown.
Zelena is the only one that crossed over.

Because Ray's on Raw and Ray and Ray has the

in the Eland Americano fight, which was also a low light.
Like they ended that five minutes too soon. It was
starting to cook.

They had to put together a match overnight. They had
to put it together a wrestle Maine a level match.
And the thing is with with Ray Phoenix Ray Phoenix
already does WrestleMania level stuff week to week, and Chad
Gable can go. Unfortunately, it's just I imagine safely they

weren't able to put together a more cohesive match and
so longer. I think we got what they could over
a short time because Ray got hurt on SmackDown on
Fridayday and they and they were scheduled to wrestle on
Saturday Saturday, so they I even said to my sister, right,
I was like, they had to be up until like

three or four in the morning trying to put together
this like as much as they could physically do together.
They had to been working their ass off.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
So I do give them credit for putting together a
match in that short time. It's just the circumstances were
not favorable for them.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
I think it worked enough because he is uh Phoenix
also does kick, so I imagine they and he has
that great kick off the off the rope where he
walks the rope, and that would make sense, especially with
what Chad Gable has been doing lately with that metal
plate in his mask. Yes, so I feel like that
was like the best end result. I just don't think

we got enough in between which is fine because, like
I said, I think they did good enough for what
they could do. Chad Gable had the moment of the
weekend that that I don't know what, I've never seen
it before. It was like a Syenton but it was

extra I don't I don't know what it was.

It's I've never seen it before. And I was like,
even Michael Cole made a big deal about it. I

Think they wasted storytelling with how Night two ended. I

You have built this storyline of John Cena turning against
the fans, becoming a heel being with the Rock, going

for his seventeenth World Championship against Cody Rhoades, who has
gone super babyface in the company, and you ended with
Travis Scott coming out at with with a fake hardcore belt.

You know hare. I like every time I looked at it,
I was just like, I like it. I like that.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
Maybe maybe they're building the Summer Slam and they're wanting
to do more in the you know, August time frame.
Maybe they're building the Survivor series. I don't know. Uh,
you know, we're going to see the Rocks Faction at
some point. But like, this is WrestleMania, this is the
super Bowl of of wrestling.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Like, can I posit a theory? Sure, He's been saying
it the whole time. I'm going to ruin wrestling. What
was the last thing that besides Vince McMahon being a
literal monster, what was the last thing that ruined wrestling
like legitimately ruined.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Wrestling Ruthless aggression era?

Speaker 2 (21:32):
No, I think before that, what truly ruined wrestling for
a while?

Speaker 1 (21:41):
That are we talking attitude era before Hulk Hogan?

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Yes, oh, Hulk Hogan. Hulk Hogan was the last person
to truly ruin wrestling. It came down to like how
he uh won at WrestleMania nine, which was in Vegas.
He came out and after I believe Yokozuna had already
beaten Brett Hart for the title or something. I don't

remember the match exactly or the participants, but I believe
it was those three uh. I don't know what in order,
but at the end of it, Hulk Hogan leaves that champion,
that that WrestleMania champion when he wasn't even in the
championship match. Well, he was the last person to ruin

it was in Vegas. It was, and honestly like it
kept getting worse because it got to to the finger
polk of doom whenever he took out Kevin Nash. This
is I just now thought of this. He's going to
ruin wrestling And the last person to truly ruin wrestling
was Hulk Hogan. And who has been topical this year

on Netflix the day you mentioned January sixth, the premiere
who who got booed out of the building Hulkin?

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Yeah, okay, so maybe maybe we're looking at some better
long story term, long store, long form storytelling.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
And do you know why I think it's ruining Like
his ruining wrestling was bringing out somebody like Travis Scott,
who apparently I had heard he had been training after
his appearance when him the Rock and John turned on
Cody and he like, hurt Cody. Travis Scott hurt Cody.
There was a backstage segment, not segment, it was behind

the scenes and it was Travis Scott talking to Triple
H and he said, I want to do that more
And he said, well you've been we got you in
the ring, We've got we've been having you in the
ring lately. I thought he looked terrible. He took the
Crossroads really well. But it was an awful, awful ending
to that match, yeh, which is exactly what Hogan did. Yeah,

it was a terrible main event. John knows that. And
because he ruined, he's ruining wrestling. He's the last legitimate champ.
Who is the last?

It all comes back to Hogan's emulating Hogan. He's been
saying I love Vince. I don't he loves Vince McMahon.
He's still been saying it in interviews. Who loves Vince
McMahon too?

I just figured it out. I figured out the like
his entire mindset, figured out the entire reason for that
main event.

One of my other highlights was seeing the out of
nowhere come back of the man Becky Lynch.

Nobody saw that coming.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
Two days prior, on Friday, a press release was out
that said Becky Lynch will be taking an indefinite break
from wrestling two.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
Days prior, and now she's a champion.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Well, spoiler alert, they lost it.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Okay, Uh, Well, I guess that takes the obligation of
showing up week to week. Yeah, yeah, a day. Yeah, hey,
you can't take it away though they did take it away, they.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
Did, but no, no seeing the man back in the ring.
And I sent you the the w w E social
media posts, the TikTok of it. How lives sold. Becky
coming down the ramp was perfect.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
She has she has any facis whenever sell anything. She
had that match on Friday where she took I believe
she suplexed Bailey outside of the ring and hurt the
hell out of her back and like she screamed, but
the moment she saw the camera on her, she turned
it into a smile and did the chimmy. Yeah, she's

(26:08):
the best. That's why she won the Slammy for Women's
Wrestler of the Year. She should have been Wrestler of
the Year. Like in general, she carried raw all last year.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
Yeah. Yeah, twenty twenty four was the year of Live.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
It truly was. It was the Live Morgan Revene Tour,
but now it's the World Tour.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
But yeah, overall, I would say to Night WrestleMania, I'll
give it a solid seven and a half out of ten.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
I gave it a C plus.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
Plus. I mean there were low lights, but there were
really good matches both nights there were uh and again
I hate to well, we haven't even talked about Uh, Tiffy,
that's what I would have knocked out of herself.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
I talk about that match because, as you know, I
am a big Tiffany Stratton fan. I say, there there's
been matches where she's had that she just reminds me
of Kevin Owens. Uh.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
And I mean that.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
I mean that in the in the most polite way.
She like, she's a brawler, and yeah, she's she's just
figured it out and I hope she has just a
great career. But so I'm a big fan of her.
Everybody knows Charlotte's one of the best to ever step

(27:44):
between the ropes. The problem that in that match is
they just like.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
Were both wearing the same costume.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
Yea. Honestly, because Tiffany Stratton was the champion, she should
have had the the first choice of color and Charlotte
Charlotte has a history of pink. She does, but it's
it's kind of fight thing, you like, the champion gets
the first choice. And uh, yeah, I love Tiffany Stratton's

entrance though with the barber dolls. But I felt like
the match only feels like it was slightly done, and
I gave it a kind of the bad grade. They
just lost momentum three times in the match, Like.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
Both of them looked gassed at different moments.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
And I don't know why. I think it was just
because they were trying to play catch up during certain
some moments that they were overthinking things and it's just
like certain moves just didn't have Like I think Charlotte
was up on the on the middle rope for a
little too long while Tiffany was setting something up, and
it just it just felt a little like they just pointed. Yeah,

at some point they lost each other in the where
they were in the match.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Yeah, it wasn't a terrible match. I don't want to
give like again, they they looked like they beat the
hell out of each other. Tiffany Stratton chipped the tooth
and was bloodied at the end.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
Yeah, magically fixed by the press conference though.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
Ah delightful. Yeah, maybe maybe she had like maybe she's
got Jim Carrey like a false tooth that she chipped
when she was a kid, and she can just take
it off and all it.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
Could be something like that. I was thinking veneers and
they're in Vegas. I imagine they could easily get.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
Yeah, there's a dentist everywhere. Twenty four to seven.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
I'm sure it's like, I'm sure some of them are
gonna be a little sketchy and with some because they
have some debts.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
But a lot of Bondo is probably being used in
those situations. But no, see that that's kind of my
like that match is kind of the encapsulation of how
I felt Mania went peak. Moments moments where it seemed rushed,

Moments where it seemed like people just like they lost
the plot, lost where they were.

Speaker 2 (30:11):

episode because it's Ike Baronholds having really doing a good job.

it was great, so I was happy. Like it's kind
of like Mythic Quest. Mythic Quest will do like a

a side episode where it was focused on those two

like the Girl. The mermaids are almost immediately nude without genitalia. Okay,

whenever water is on them, they do grow out like
like six or seven foot long tails.

that he is to be married, she will turn into
keep with me into soap SuDS. But the other mermaid
girl who was also great, wants to return to the sea,
but doesn't want to do it without her her her sister.

rate this movie. I even wrote on my letterbox checking
in fifty two minutes, still confused. A minute later, still
