Speaker 1 (00:19):
The podcast lusively for folks who know that when all
else fails, there's always a delusion where your.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Host is always I'm Nick, I'm and and once again confused,
but Nick, it's of the moment, give it to me again.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
When all else fails, there's always delusion.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Okay because.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Spoiler alert for when we actually talked about it on
the podcast. But Conan was uh was honored with the
Mark Twain Award, and both Drew and I are huge
freaking Conan O'Brien fans.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
He is my comedy hero, probably actually my biggest hero.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yeah, I mean he's up there with just biggest hero.
The man has shaped our comedy, yes, in ways that
we cannot express in words. Uh So I thought it,
like I said, apropos of the moment to bring out
a cone ud quote. There are many quote code d quotes.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Quote Mark Twain, my Netflix special drops today.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Yes, I could have said it's.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Probably the most recent Conan quote.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Yeah, I could have. I could have said Walker told
me I have aids, which is technically not a cone unquote.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
No, but it's the famous because of Conan.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
But it's famous because of code Anyway.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
That was one of the best moments on TV too,
because I at that point I wasn't watching that live.
But I was what I did when I was a kid,
because I neglected my homework because I.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Was, as one does, I didn't like doing work.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
I just knew how things worked. I knew like I
didn't test well, is what I'm saying. I didn't want
to do homework because I felt like I did all
the learning I needed to while I was at school. Absolutely,
I just needed to be repeated. It just needs to
be repeated to me a couple of times, and then
I got it. But but I forgot where I was going.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
We were talking about Conan, Oh, Conan.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
But what I would get home and I would act
like I was doing my homework. What I would be
doing is I don't know what I was on on
on the computer. But I had a computer in a
TV in the same room in the basement where nobody
was during the day because they were all upstairs in
the living room, and so I was basically the only
(02:53):
person who was down there during the during the day.
So I'd say I was doing my homework. I was
on maybe Bomb's World or something else I was. I
didn't you and I watched completely different things on those channels.
Because the stuff that you and like your friend and
our friends mentioned I don't know anything about because I
(03:14):
was mainly like playing games.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
I wasn't what I get it. Yeah, no, I get it.
I listen, I.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Would be watching Conan is like the day before Conan
would be on like Comedy Central or something.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
YouTube would came about in like two thousand and five,
I think yes, but I vividly remember the first things
that I was watching on YouTube were Conan O'Brien skips
and like the Walker Texas Ranger Lever, the you know,
the masturbating bear. Saying that out loud into a microphone
(03:53):
is very weird. I'd like to state that for.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
The I mean you mentioned any masturbating bear, it's a
little bit.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
The preparation, h guy.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
See, the thing is I wasn't watching as much and
retaining as much from the late night show I I did,
Like I'm pretty sure I watched every single episode of
the Conan Show on TBS. I don't think I missed
a single episode of that.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
I did not miss a single episode of his show
on TBS for sure.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
So I would like I was more into before I
got into the skits in the in the comedy before
the guests, before I could like really appreciate, like the
comedy sketching sketch stylings of of Conan. I was mainly
into the interview portion, so I wasn't I wasn't paying
(04:48):
as much attention to like the opening monologue and in
the the comedy that was the prepared comedy, which I
in retrospect, I I missed out completely, and yet he
still shaped everything I know about comedy.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Well, he's such a great interviewer as well. Like him
and like John Stewart, these are people that and for me,
I know you less, but for me, like David Letterman,
these are guys that that.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
I didn't enjoy the way Letterman interviewed people.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
I understand it's different, it's different, for sure, But like
I think all three of those guys that I just
named definitely bring different appeal to a conversation and a
different style of bringing out things from the Interviewee. Yeah,
that are interesting, And I think that's what you want
in an interview anyway, you want something interesting. Hell, Paul
(05:47):
Rudd was on Codin's show a billion times and they
never talked about the things that they were supposed to
talk about. But every interview was interesting and that's all
that mattered.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Yeah for me growing up, because I've loved late night
talk shows most of my life.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Old school Johnny Carson, Like I used to watch The
Tonight Show see Johnny Carson back in the day.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Like Letterman never hit for me. His comedy and his
interviews never really hit for me. I never understood it. Lenno,
I liked his interviewing a little bit.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Yeah, Leno's interviewing was okay. I mean it was by
far the best part of the show. Like I never
enjoyed his monologues, even as a pseudo adult, but his
interviews were always good at least.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
And I do remember him with the cards, him with
the cards.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
He always had, you know, the headlines was a big thing.
What I liked about Letterman, and to a to a
different degree, Honan, because Conan kicked it up a notch
was the ancillary pieces.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Like.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Dave had, Paul, Dave had, the producer. Dave had, the
guy of that that owned the Hello Deli. I think
his name was Rupert or something like that, and he
would always like kick it out to the man on
the street and stuff like that. Conan had all these
characters and ancillary pieces that elevated the show. Not to
(07:27):
mention Andy, Max Weinberg, the after Cross. Yeah, so Jimmy
Maveno after after Max left. So like I did, there
there were there were always these ancillary pieces, like I said,
especially with Conan, that I found just so hilarious. And
(07:51):
the type of comedy with each of those ancillary pieces
was different than with the other ancillary pieces, So like
you'd get something different with like Andy on the Couch
versus Andy as like on the Tonight Show when he
had the Tonight Show for the over there speaking, It's
(08:11):
also why I liked h Craig Ferguson.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
So he was really fresh, and he he definitely brought
like that British style over even though he's not British, but.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
He brought Scottish I believe.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Yeah, he brought he brought the British like talk show
style over here.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
He also had a skeleton as a co host. You know,
and this is.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Going to be controversial. I love James Gordon Man I don't.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Yeah, definitely controversial.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
I didn't particularly love his interviewing.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
I think his interview he watched Cats too much.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
It's not that I swear to christ. Especially the last
three or four years of Cordon's show. It was the
best best monologue in all of late night. Just not
enough people were watching it. It was the funniest, most topical.
(09:10):
It was the best night to night late night talk
show for four years, going into its clothes like I didn't.
I didn't even watch the interviews. I every single with
late night talk talk shows. I sometimes I'll catch Seth
Myers at the end of the night for a closer
(09:31):
loves or anything, because I love Seth. I think he's
actually the best person right now besides John Oliver.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
His his day drinking with celebrities is That's.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Not even my favorite thing I think.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
I think a closer look is probably his best. But
the can't tell joke, Seth can't tell great. Like I said,
day drinking is great. I love that he doesn't stand
for his monologue. I love that he just sits at
the desk, he does his own thing. He does his
own thing, and I love that.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
But James Corden had the best monologue for like the
last four years.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Of Man, I'll have to give it to you. I
was never a huge Gordon fan, just was not my
cup of tea.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
His His was his entire crew, Like you knew every
single person who was behind the camera and that was
just a product of COVID, but literally you learned all
like the producers, all the writers. You saw the the
fifth highest person on CBS, who was there night to night,
(10:39):
fifth highest person at CBS, and he became a comedy character.
It was. It was incredible, uh, because they started making
funny and making fun of his title because he's the
vice president of something, but there is no president of
that same thing. Delightful, So it was it was just
(10:59):
the funniest show. Sorry, we like, oh, it's the thing
is all that comes down to Conan. Conan kind of
shaped like he took everything like from Carson and Letterman
especially uh and.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
And and he's John Mulaney's second favorite Irish talk show host.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
I haven't watched it. I haven't watched it yet.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
No, that that was something that he said on show.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
Okay, but it's Conan is just like I he's one
of those people that you're like, I didn't realize he
was my hero until like, like you didn't realize just
how big of an influence this guy was until maybe
like ten years ago, and then everybody's like, oh god,
he's he's beyond, like he's his own, like he's Conan.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
And he's comedy royalty.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
He's gonna go down as one of the funniest you
know people of all time.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
Uh, guy comes from Harvard like like everybody else, I
guess in comedy, but but no, seriously, Conan just has
an air about him that everything is is not for himself.
He's not he's not trying to make himself bigger. Everything's
(12:20):
for the joke. Yes, everything's for the craft. You can
see it on his Hot Ones interview, which may be
one of the greatest hot ones slash interviews of all time.
Yes you can. You can see it or you can
hear it at least in every freaking episode of Conan
(12:41):
Needs a Friend, O'Brien needs a Friend, because every interview
is just spectacular. Uh, you know, from Walton Goggins to
I'll tell you what His with Jim Downey is still
one of my favorite interviews of all time. Kevin Neland
was hilarious. Uh, yeah, you know what part I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Yes, it's it's it's probably the most clipped he did.
Really this episode really good for yourself, and I'm just
I'm you're surprised.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
But yeah, it's like he's just so earnest about the
craft and about the joke.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
And the thing is he seems like he cares about people, which, yes,
other people.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Sona has become a minor celebrity all her own.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
Yeah, and she's.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Been his assistant for like fifteen years.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
Yeah, it's he seems like a person who cares about people,
and for such a large public figure, you're that's not
always going to be the case.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Both physically and in the lexicon. Yeah, because I think
he's like seventeen feet tall.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
He's six or six five, but.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
With the hair, he's like six'.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Eight. Yeah but, Yeah, conan, LIKE i, mean he's my.
FAVORITE I i really WISH i would have been able
to make it to like one of his, shows sure, Man.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
But, yeah all that to Say conin did was awarded
The Mark Twain award at The Kennedy center.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
From The Old regime not The New. Regime could you?
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Imagine, yes you, know in the last few, years you,
know we've Had chappelle got, It John stewart got, It Adam,
Sandler John, STEWART i.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
Believe.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Yeah, yeah so your last four Are, Chappelle Stuart, Sandler
conan Sad.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
Sadly Rob schneider attended at least one of.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Those you're pap anonymous, man that Guy.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
Jesus, yeah whatever your, like, like if you're a good,
person whatever your politics. Are if you didn't, Know Rob
schneider is the, Opposite he's the worst.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Person an anti vaxer, douchebag is WHAT i would.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
Say he. Is. Nick, hey what did You what have
you seen? Yet like?
Speaker 1 (15:25):
You what HAVE i been?
Speaker 3 (15:26):
WATCHING i guess, no Like. Sinners let's talk About, sinners
BECAUSE i do know you have Seen. Sinners, yes what
did you? Think i've seen it? Twice oh you've seen it? Twice, now,
OKAY i mean it is definitely a MOVIE i want
to go see a second. TIME i thought the music was,
brilliant like just the sound. DESIGN i GUESS i should
(15:49):
say it was.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Brilliant it is an absolutely fantastic vampire, flick an absolutely
fantastic genre, flick a absolutely fantastic peak into. History it's
it's a fantastic movie about the, Blues like.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
It celebrates music as much as like the.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
PEOPLE i mean the fact that LIKE i love That
smoke And stack Are World War one, veterans that that's
built into the. STORY i love that they want to
start this juke joint for like basically the, community in
(16:35):
lack of a better way of putting, it because because
they bought it from a racist piece of. Shit yeah
it it has the makings of one of my favorite
movies of this year.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Already, yeah IT'S i think it's my second favorite movie
so far this. YEAR i think as far as perform
us as go, there it's it's really. Great BUT i mean.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
Chock full with just great.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
PERFORMANCES i think the the writing is really great just
because it really it fletches out every single character really.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Well because you get tightly written it's you can Tell
coogler just went at this with.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
You you Gave he gave enough history that you can
get through in two hours of so many kind of
good like like the the surrounding. Characters because we learned
about the people who did who supplied the, food which
was The asian family who had the grocery. Store we
(17:41):
even found out about their, daughter uh, yeah and then
we we learned about the what's his, Name Delroy, lindo
who's the. Jazz uh and, uh he makes a great
point that he can he couldn't take that. JOB i
(18:01):
mean he obviously does because he has a reliable spot
at a certain bar every Single. Saturday so why would
he risk? It why would he risk his? Chair so
we got to know all these characters and JUST i
felt like it was such a like as much as
you can fit in two, hours they got. It. Yeah
(18:25):
and then like everything from the, cinematography how how it,
shot like from like natural lighting type of. Ways in
some cases it is.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
So fucking well. Shot, Yeah coogler just has an eye. Man,
yeah him.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
And his cinematographer are the same. Page they've been working
together for the last couple like, him it's him his
cinematographer WHICH i can get her name here in a,
Second an m Durald. Archipa she's done a bunch of
his movies like she did To, forever she did The
last Show girl last. Year, uh she's she's done a
(19:04):
lot of really good. Work but like everything that they
did with with The imax cameras and everything where they
really let the country like are are The Deep south
kind of shine in its own? WAY i thought it
was really. Good but, YEAH i LOVED i loved all the.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Characters, MAN i think the standout character for me was
Was mott was With sammy played By, yeah he's, fantastic
wonderful in this.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Movie but you, know my favorite actual character was Corn.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
Bread Omar miller is so good when.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
When, jacko when the main vampire is, doing is having
that kind of more jaunty jig kind of. Song whenever
you look in the background of the other vampires dancing around,
him the most fun person to watch Is. Cornbread Just
Omar miller is just having the time of his. Life
(20:05):
LIKE i partially went to see it the second time
to watch him dance To jack McConnell's.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Singing it's only, Fair it's only.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
FAIR i love the story about Smoking stack with both
Both Hailey steinfeld and Wod mosica who Played. ANNIE i
love the fact that we got kind of a flesh
out story with like in like back to back, scenes
we Got MICHAEL. B jordan With haley and Then MICHAEL.
B jordan With Wound me and, like you're, like, God
(20:37):
michael just killed it in both of those. Scenes they
killed it in both of those. Scenes it was. Fantastic
and then it like two thirds through the. Movie about
halfway through the movie the movie completely.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
Changes so it is it's just so nice to see
original ip on the.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
Screen, yeah big. Cinema it felt.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Yeah it felt. Big it it felt, like you, know
all These marvel movies are like three four hundred million
dollars to. Produce you, know this felt like a two
hundred and fifty three hundred million dollar movie just the
way it. Looked, now you know it's not because it's
a much SMALLER.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
I, mean it could be shooting On.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
Imax, yeah a good, point.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
BUT i THINK i think it costs seventy Seventy.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
It was ninety to one hundred. MILLION i think what
it was after.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
As, varieties, varieties dumb article that they they're just everybody
brings up if they have any kind of our new
article About centers that everybody brings, up the fact that
they were like weirdly dragging the opening weekend Of cinners
for no. Reason variety.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
Sucks but, no it brings me hope because let's see,
here it's been out since the eighteenth Of, april so
we are on week, THREE i believe of Of centers
being in theaters and it's already gross two hundred and
forty million. Dollars you, know it's it's a profitable, film
(22:12):
not that we didn't think it wouldn't, be but this
JUST i think this ensures that Studios i'm hoping it.
Shouldn't it's not going, to But i'm hoping that that
people will look At coogler and be, like, hey there's
there's room to give these visionary directors room to. Cook.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
Yeah and the thing, Is I've i've listened to a
lot of interviews With Ryan coogler because over the last
couple of weeks just because he's been all over and thank,
god because he's a very interesting person to listen, to,
incredibly because every conversation is a little bit they always
hit like like the same talking points. Everything While, yeah
but then like he has just like a good story for.
(22:58):
Everybody he just repeating the same thing and he's just
a Very it's a very interesting listen because like he
also just goes off the flow of the person talking to.
Him but, yeah it's also right, now it's it's pretty
impressive because especially right Now thunderbolts is obviously taking over
SOME imax, screens but everybody wants to See sinners in An,
(23:22):
imax so.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
They are hold on you froze. UP i have no
idea what you just. Said, okay he Said, bolts and
then it was.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Yeah thunderbolts is taking up a lot of weekends of
OF imax screens right. Now but everybody wants to go
See sinners in AN, Imax so Literally disney is, trying
is not. Trying cinemas are basically trying to find any
way either tacking on a showing before and opening up
(23:54):
early or staying late to have a showing Of sinners
because people like people want to Watch, centers especially in
that format right, now because they feel like this feels,
big almost Like barbie Or Arpenheim oppenheimer. Did.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Uh so it's a well known name releasing an original
ip with a well known.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Actor they're gonna have an entire storyline about this on
The studio next. Season speaking of which are You.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Is coogler gonna hire Ice?
Speaker 3 (24:31):
Cube, no he's gonna show up on on an episode
of The studio because they're gonna like they want a
New sinners but they, like uh like Ah.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
Saviors, yeah and, Yes i've caught up on The.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
Studio we'll get to that in a. Second, okay, so
uh We're len's stick to movies just because it's. CURRENT
i know you have not Seen. Thunderbolts you are get.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
TOMORROW i have my tickets.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
In it is very. Good i'm not gonna like say
really anything like specific about.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
IT i might tack it on at the end of this.
EPISODE I i don't mind. SPOILERS i mean this, MOVIE
i know how it's going to.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Go this movie tackles mental health really.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
Well sure And Bob bob The void Slash.
Speaker 3 (25:24):
Century not Just.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
Bob i'm, Sure florence Pew, Elena i'm Sure John walker
played by all of. Them i'm Sure, GHOST i am
sure for the five seconds we probably have Task master
that you, know they probably do something, There, Uh, bucky it.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
Does. Yeah, basically it's like the main focus, is, yes of,
Course bob and his mental health issues because they they
are the ones that become they manifest problematic if you. Will.
Yes but that's really, great and it's one of the
more Emotional marvel movies we've gotten in a. While there
(26:08):
are definitely two moments during the movie where you could
really find yourself.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Crying but that's What eric On New Rock stars were
saying on his non spoiler, review like.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
IT'S i didn't watch that, One so, YEAH i watched.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
The non spoiler review, obviously and he said it's just
a very for. It it's a very, grounded ground level emotional, movie,
yes which WHICH i appreciate.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
In on the second the reason WHY, i especially on
this opening, WEEKEND i try to see the same movie
twice is because the first TIME i see, It I'm
i'm collecting, Everything i'm, Getting i'm watching, everything But i'm
not able to process as much AS i AS i.
Want and WHENEVER i see it the second, TIME i.
(26:53):
CAN i already know everything that's going to, happen SO
i can really focus on like the minor details THAT
i or like really look forward to certain scenes that show.
Up especially there's a scene With David harbor that had
me laughing pretty like longer THAN i should.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Have David harbor is The Red, guardian so, good.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
But it was just so absurd that it just got me.
Laught it was it was the same kind of CHUCKLE
i had that The minecraft movie gave. Me there was
one joke in that movie that just had me like,
giggling LIKE i couldn't let it go for like almost a,
minute which is too. Long it's a little, long but
it was just like it would keep popping popping up
(27:41):
in my head AND i would just. Giggle but there's
a moment in this With David harbor that that gives me.
That but then it's, just, UH i want you to,
watch especially the subtleties Of Wyatt, russell BECAUSE i think
while they all suff are, suffering his is different than everybody.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
Else's well, yeah, YEAH i mean just from a character,
perspective looking At John walker as a character in this
version of THE, mcu it's.
Speaker 3 (28:12):
Not so much that it's it's he kind of he
says one line about it before they kind of bring
up the reason why That i'll talk with you later
on THAT i felt like it was really. Important that's
Why Florence pugh is. FANTASTIC i think she's the best
part of the.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Movie she's she's pretty much always going to be the
best part of any movie that she's.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
In and Let's i've been repeating this a lot, lately
BUT i believe the quote is From Dana. Schwartz she
acts like she's not saving her face for the, future
and that's just how like she's giving you at all
like every single, Time so.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
It doesn't matter how big small the project. Is Flordes
pugh is just they're going to.
Speaker 3 (29:03):
Give it to.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
You act her ass.
Speaker 3 (29:05):
Off So i'm a big fan of what she is
doing right. Now but the sneaky performance in the, movie
while what's his Name Bob Lewis pullman is really, good especially.
LATER i mean he the comedic like how they break
(29:27):
the tension is done really well in this. Movie it's
kind of like the same As Delroy lindo and and And.
Sinners he broke attension multiple, times But Louis pullman does
that a lot in this.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
MOVIE I i always need More sebastian stan in my.
Life Lewis, PULLMAN i think is a great actor for
his limited visibility that he's, had.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
AND i a.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
LOT i thoroughly Enjoy Wyatt. RUSSELL i think him In
monarch was the best part of that. SHOW i think
he's just an incredible. ACTOR i think he did incredibly
well In falcon in The Winter. Soldier you, KNOW i
(30:15):
Love Anthony mackie AND i Love sebastian stand AS i just,
said but his character Of John walker pushed the narrative
In falcon in The winter soldier And i'm. Good i'm
glad that he is getting.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
More room to.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
Breathe in the.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
End fleshed him out a little. Bit they fleshed him
out a little bit in this. Movie. SEE i ACTUALLY
i know him from one thing before he showed up
in Goon last at The. Enforcers there's a. Movie it
was An american, remake and this is actually WHERE i
found out About Julia. Garner it's a An american REMAKE
i believe of either A mexican or A spanish movie
(30:55):
Called We Are What We, Are and it's about this
family who once a year they eat human. Flesh it's
not a horror movie or. Anything oh it's it's kind
of a weird dark. Drama and that's the first TIME
i saw whyat Russell is in twenty, thirteen and for
(31:16):
some REASON i just needed to see this. MOVIE i
don't know what was drawing it to, Me like it
was MAYBE i was just On Bloody disgusting dot com
a lot at the. Time maybe it's WHEN i discovered
that site and they had an article about this. MOVIE
i was, like, OH i got to see. It SO
i had like this weird bug of my butt about
seeing we are what we. ARE i own it because of.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
IT i remember seeing him In, overlord that twenty Eight
overlord's Great World war two set Goon.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
Less of The enforcers was like. That he was Like
vicious in that.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
Movie, yes, yes he made an appearance in twenty Two Jump.
STREET i remember him and.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
That oh, yeah him And. Channing yeah he was on
the football, team, Right.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
Yeah he was on the football. Team uh what you
was talking about throwing in the.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
Past, YEAH i completely forgot he was.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
In but LIKE i, said In, MONARCH i think he.
WAS i think he was the best part of that
that show besides the. Monsters, OBVIOUSLY i have a monster.
Flick is a monster, flick whether it's a ten episode
season or. Not like the monsters are What i'm coming.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
For the thing, IS i don't really have like a
favorite like person On. MONARCH i can't wait for season.
Two it's almost it should be out here. Soon BUT
i really enjoyed that team with With Wyatt russells and
AND i can't remember her, name BUT i really just
enjoyed that that team of those things About, Keiko, yeah
(32:52):
old Young John.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
Goodman, yes there you, go You?
Speaker 3 (32:58):
Goodman, yeah who played he's played by Unders. Home i'm
a Big drors, guy but so, YEAH i really enjoy
him In monarch as. WELL i can't, Wait LIKE i,
SAID i can't wait for season.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
TWO i mean filming the second season Wrapped february of
this year on season, two SO i would guess we'll
see it next at the beginning of next. Year it
usually takes around nine to ten months for post on
those kind of, things but with it being with it
being A tv series and with it Being, apple you,
(33:31):
know they don't have to do all the work up,
front so you could see it.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
EARLIER i really, THINK i really think it'll probably see
twenty twenty five.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
RELEASE i would love it BECAUSE i thought. IT i,
mean it was a hell of a lot better than
the last last. Two but you know, what people like,
them SO i DON'T i enjoyed.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
Them, yeah people like, them SO i don't. CARE i
don't like.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
THEM i enjoyed them for what they, WERE i should.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
SAY i do not enjoy that for what they.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
Are it, happens you, know the.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
LAST X KONG A New empire GOT. I i've never
waited for a movie to be. Over, ACTUALLY i think
that's the last MOVIE i really.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
Disliked, WOW i mean, again wasn't, good BUT i got
to see monsters beat the shit out of EACH i,
know but you, know five dollars well.
Speaker 3 (34:25):
SPENT i couldn't disassociate myself with that one for some.
Reason USUALLY i can't. LIKE i don't go into any
movie wanting to hate. IT i want to love every
MOVIE i. Watch but, MAN i couldn't enjoy that.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
One Sorry jesus was coming.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
OUT i FIGURED i had to turn it off because
Otherwise i'll watch.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
It, YEAH i got it on my phone right. Now it's, okay,
okay the, revolutionary the visionary is out there right. Now. Gotcha,
uh let's let's let's move on to Another APPLE tv,
things since we kind of ended on that With monarch The.
Studio it's seventh episode came out On april, thirtieth Called
(35:07):
Casting well.
Speaker 3 (35:09):
The episode before that, Too.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
YES i forgot about, that which was.
Speaker 3 (35:14):
The The He's Dating Mike.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
Jones directed satire.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
Film, Yeah He's he's dating a, surgeon and it's basically
a battle of who's.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
Actually a pediatric oncologist? Girlfriend?
Speaker 3 (35:28):
Yeah, yeah who's more? Important the arts are the. Sciences
they both serve a purpose that. Was that's WHAT i
was screaming in my head the entire. Time they both
have a. Purpose we need the, arts we need. Them i'm,
SORRY i know you don't think that they're whatever they were, Talking,
(35:50):
well how dismissive she is of like. Everybody everybody was so.
Dismissive it. Was it WAS i was screaming at my like,
INTERNALLY i was, like whatever they were talking. About, oh
we got a seventy five inch, screen but don't like
we only stream. Movies we. Don't we don't see the.
Need why WOULD i want to go to a? Theater
(36:12):
because there's a magic to the, theater magic because that's
it's where it was intended to. Be you can see,
everything you, see you see, more you're.
Speaker 1 (36:24):
FOCUSED i love the movie Titled, apocalypse by the, WAY.
Speaker 3 (36:30):
I actually. DIDN'T i don't get. THAT i didn't get
the the. Name it. DOESN'T i JUST i just love the.
Speaker 1 (36:36):
NAME i like.
Speaker 3 (36:37):
IT i. ENJOYED i enjoyed the fact that it Was
Johnny knoxville and, uh and What's Josh. Rodgerson? Uh it
was so.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
Stupid but That Spike jones directed set. There my guess
is that it was a play on. Idiocracy that's my.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
Guess, yeah that's that makes sense that with those.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
Two, attached it has to.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
Be, okay that makes so much more.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
Sense but the fact that it features exclusively scatological, humor uh.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
Oh, okay all, right but the most recent episode casting
all the looks on their faces, whenever like that first
scene when they're looking at the board and how they
all register it at different. Times i'm. Trying i'm actually
gonna try to pull it up BECAUSE i can't remember
who was on the First it was Ice, Cube Josh,
(37:31):
dumal AND i cannot remember because nobody. Knows, also they
made kind of the same joke again because it was
the same bouscemi. Joke nobody knows how to Say Josh dumal's.
NAME i Say josh Du maal because, like it sounds,
cleaner do hamiln if his, Name if his name is
set spelled uh, pronounced do, hamil change. It it's a
(37:56):
terrible way to Say Josh hamil duhamel and do mal
sounds like say it's some sort Of european uh uh.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
PRONUNCIATION i love that they come to the realization, though
that pasting Ice cube as.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
The kool Aid man might be, racist.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
May be playing into stereotypes of The African american community
and could be construed as.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
Racist it's so.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
Funny but then later on they step back and.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
It wasn't it would be racist if it wasn't a black.
Speaker 1 (38:33):
Man but then they realized that the whole cast is.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
White oh, here, Okay I'm i've finally got the cast
list Of, okay uh IT'S I i, THINK i. DON'T
i don't know which episode has been my. Favorite oh.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
NO i also said that Missus coole also had to
be a black woman because that would be in, fact
be racist as well if she was.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
NOT i love the the joke that the creative executive
what's her, name Uh chase says it could have Been
Tracy morgan could have he could have gotten everybody. PREGNANT
i respect, it respect it you clearly you love you
love Thirty. ROCK i love You rock, exactly love you
(39:22):
like we we'd Get, okay there it.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
Is that had to be a Thirty rock, callback right
like it had.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
To THAT'S i, mean obviously that's part of his stand.
Up but when you Love Tracy, morgan.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
You also have to Love Tracy, jordan you really.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
Do it was it was Ice, Cube Sandra, Oh Josh
jamal and, which, LIKE i think what? Side that would
have been perfectly? Fun they did maybe A hispanic in.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
There uh they Replaced Sandra oh With Regina, king yes much.
Speaker 3 (40:04):
Respect at one point they replace her with, uh what's
her name? From? Nope what CAN i think of her?
Name Key? Palmer AND i think he played her dad
in a in a in a movie in a series of.
Movies are we there? YET i? Think is?
Speaker 1 (40:22):
What and That Don cheatle Replaces josh de ball or
the hammel OR i don't know how to say his,
name and therefore it's. Wrong but once they get to
The Anaheim Comic, con for it to all blow, up
for to all blow, up it's just fucking.
Speaker 3 (40:44):
Brilliant it's so. Funny it is just one.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
Of them just left on, stage just.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
Booze. Everywhere it's so far a perfect ten out of ten.
SHOW i don't like even ON. IMDb i don't give
a lot of stuff ten ten. STARS i don't get.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
This this is an absolute ten out of. Ten, like without,
question every episode has had something in it that has
made me legitimately laugh out loud for, much like you,
said way longer THAN i should.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
Have there's not a show ON tv THAT i look
forward to more than.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
This like the new episode comes out in two, nights.
Speaker 3 (41:29):
Like, tomorrow it comes out. Tomorrow they come out on two.
Seven they do come out On. Wednesdays, oh they always.
DROP i get, okay like eight pm out. Here, Shit i've.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Been waiting too. Long i'm gonna watch it tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
Night then, yeah they come out like crazy early on. On,
Okay yeah they Got Regina. King i'm trying To i'm
scrolling through. Here but, yeah it's been a, perfect perfect
show since every single scene is art man and My,
also one of my favorite things about the show is
(42:04):
they show you how they shoot. It they they like
on social. Media they will show, you like two weeks,
ago how they shot that scene that you, loved and
IT'S i think.
Speaker 1 (42:15):
My favorite part about the show is bringing in The
hollywood actors to play these odd versions of. Themselves like
in the first, Episode Paul dano is the perfect encapsulation
of WHAT i love about this show.
Speaker 3 (42:35):
Because he goes Full. Dano he goes Full. DANO i
do love, that. Man oh. No the joke about the
writers not wanning write for black, voices, yes which the
studio is not understanding that being part of the. Joke
it's but the thing is it would it's so hard
(42:57):
because that's a good writing. Gig, yeah you have to
turn it down because technically your. Politics you're, LIKE i
can't really, LIKE i feel. Wrong i'm gonna feel. Wrong
and if they, like whenever this movie comes, out if
they like the long term, effect oh there it. Is
Don cheatle And Kiki.
Speaker 1 (43:17):
Palm palmer Replaced Josh numo And Jessica biel And Regeta
king Replaced. Sandra it went from having it went from
having a mostly white cast to it all, blackest which
which uta seems more. RACIST i.
Speaker 3 (43:43):
LIKE i like.
Speaker 1 (43:43):
That the killing blow for it was that they were
going to USE ai Animation like nobody.
Speaker 3 (43:50):
Just like a remove like eyelashes or.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
Something nobody gave a ship about the.
Speaker 3 (43:57):
Cast it's such a funny show.
Speaker 1 (44:02):
And against, big just, giant. Giant thank you To David
crumbholts for his guest starring in this. Episode in that first,
episode LIKE i cannot express in words how hilarious that
one scene was.
Speaker 3 (44:21):
Love but we love we. Are crumbolts stands, though.
Speaker 1 (44:26):
So from back in The Ten THINGS I hate about you.
DAYS i have a dick on my.
Speaker 3 (44:31):
Face The Santa. Claus, yeah BUT i earlier. Things, yeah he.
Speaker 1 (44:39):
Was and And Catherine hahn so.
Speaker 3 (44:44):
She was she wasn't like two episodes in a. Row but,
yeah but they they made a point because she was
a big part of this. Episode just said she's back
on social. Media so it was.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
Great, obviously seth kills it in every. Scene AND i
never have Enough catherine O'Hara in my, life like, ever
BECAUSE i think she's one of the most brilliant voices
in comedy. Ever, yeah but, man she's just so good in,
(45:17):
this she really.
Speaker 3 (45:18):
Is i'm a huge.
Speaker 1 (45:20):
Fan she plays a very elevated version of WHAT i
Imagine Catherine hawn would.
Speaker 3 (45:25):
Be i'm a big fan of what they're. Doing you're
not quite caught up on The last Of, us, though RIGHT.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
I am one episode. BEHIND i was out of town
this weekend for my anniversary sixteen. Years we went to
A disney punk rock show with the kids In Saint
louis yes you heard me, correct and then went to the.
Zoo it was a nice little family. Weekend but we're
gonna watch EPISODE i guess it's? Three is it? Three?
(45:57):
Yeah episode three of The last Of. Us will watch
that tomorrow, night, okay because Because melissa AND i watched that.
Together but, man those first two, Episodes.
Speaker 3 (46:07):
Oh, okay so you are two?
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Behind, okay and Then I'm i'm only one. BEHIND i
couldn't remember if it was three weeks or four.
Speaker 3 (46:16):
Weeks have you seen the the? After, uh you've Seen.
JOEL i know you've Seen joel die though on the, show, Right,
yes have you seen the episode? After? No, okay so
you're you're two? Behind oh, okay, okay, Yeah and AND I.
Speaker 1 (46:37):
I'd like to state for the, RECORD i called an
early exit For.
Speaker 3 (46:42):
Joel he hasn't shown up as a in a new
scene that we haven't. Seen he's shown up with like
a flashback just in the in the episode, Following but
THE i assume we're probably gonna get a little bit
more of him and scenes that we just haven't.
Speaker 1 (47:00):
Scene yet That i'm sure we. Will you, don't, yeah you, don't,
like you don't just to the baby out with the
bathwater there with like you have one of the biggest
actors in the world on your. Show you. Don't you
don't get rid of. Him you'll you'll find a way
to put him back in the. Show BUT i again
(47:22):
before and granted AGAIN i know.
Speaker 3 (47:26):
The, game but the game is gonna be is gonna
be a little bit different than the. Show so and
also you're gonna you're gonna experience it in a completely
different way.
Speaker 1 (47:34):
Because, well and we we talked about this when we
talked about before season two came, out when we talked
about the first. Season you, know changes were purposefully made
for the, betterment for for for the, betterment and Even
neil or excuse, me Uh, Neil, Yeah truckman, uh who
again made both of these games with With Naughty dog
(47:58):
very much was in phase her of these. Changes so,
yeah of Course joel could have survived season.
Speaker 3 (48:04):
TWO i was, like, yeah it just wasn't.
Speaker 1 (48:08):
Likely but you are going to experience it very differently
because it's a different.
Speaker 3 (48:13):
Medium, yeah but that second episode was a just such
a roller coaster of an episode just because you felt so,
much especially like you kind of have to put yourself
in the eyes of even somebody as as horrible as
what Uh kaitlin NEVER i can't think of the character's, Name,
Abbie abby does is going to? Do but that scene
(48:37):
where she's under the gate in WHICH i believe is
pulled straight from the.
Speaker 1 (48:42):
Game straight from the.
Speaker 3 (48:43):
Game but the way they shot it in With Caitlin
dever was just like you really felt. It it was very.
Stressful that entire sequence was very like the entire episode
was really. Stressful it didn't really let you.
Speaker 1 (48:56):
Off that show makes you feel emotions that you shouldn't
be comfortable. Feeling but because of how well done it,
is you're, like this show makes me feel, things and
you're fine with, it.
Speaker 3 (49:10):
And you it forces you to see it from other people's,
perspective because to To, abby he's just the guy who
came to her, town her town and killed her. Father,
yeah so that's all she, knows and she's getting revenge
on the man who killed her. Father she doesn't know
that the reason for.
Speaker 1 (49:30):
Story, yeah that even. Change it's a what the game
did very well and What i'm sure that the continuation
of the second seasonal show is is revenge something that
is one worth it and two does it change?
Speaker 3 (49:49):
People? Yes and and.
Speaker 1 (49:53):
It's just the games posit this world that that isn't
the same as ours in the fact that it's, Done
like the world's. Over, yeah the remnants of society are
left and that's, it and how how do we go
on being human beings when there's so much wrong in the.
(50:16):
World and then you put on these very personal stories
Like abby's, story where it's this guy came into town
and killed my father and a bunch of other, people
and he's he's not he's not going to live to.
Speaker 3 (50:31):
Regret he's not the.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
Hero he's not the hero.
Speaker 3 (50:33):
Hero he's the hero that you think he.
Speaker 1 (50:36):
Is, yes because you know the, backstory you know what
he did For. Ellie.
Speaker 3 (50:41):
Yes so. Yeah so that's WHY i WISH i could
play these, games just BECAUSE i, LIKE i enjoy the.
Story the story is really. Great i'm HAPPY i had
the show BECAUSE i get to experience it in a
certain in a different. Way BUT i Just i'm not
very good at those type of. Games just long form.
Speaker 1 (51:01):
Storytelling it has to be very. Difficult i've never made
a video, game, obviously but telling a, story you, know
the core story And last Of us And last Of
Us part two or excuse, Me last Of Us part
one And last Of Us part two since they remastered.
Everything you, know if you were to just play the core,
(51:21):
story you, know you're talking about sixty to seventy hours
worth of storytelling of. Writing that's got to be difficult
because with The last Of Us season, one you, know
we only had seven, hours seven and a half, hours
maybe a little. More there were seven there were seven
(51:44):
total episodes in season, one eight, Though SO i, mean
you're you're condensing a, giant, long long form storytelling and
to bite sized portions for people to. Digest AND i
got to be honest with, you much like with The,
studio this this is one of those rare ten out
of ten shows for. ME i mean every episode makes
(52:07):
me feel. Something, Yeah bella is so, good BUT i
have to SAY i was.
Speaker 3 (52:17):
NOT i wasn't feeling like it's it's one of those
things because they're showing up a lot and a lot of.
Things Because isabellamer said is showing up in a lot
of things right. Now that was, Like i'm a little.
Annoyed but the thing is, like especially in these last
two episodes of Of The last Of, us she's so
(52:37):
good like and then she's also in The superman movie
coming out this, year she was In Alien romulus last.
Year it's just she was just in a lot really
quickly THAT i, Got, YEAH i got JUST i got
annoyed real, quick, like just for no. REASON i wish
her all the, success but for some, REASON i just
got like super annoyed for LIKE i, said, no, oh
(53:01):
and she was In Madam.
Speaker 1 (53:02):
WEBB i was literally getting ready to say she was
In Madam web as, well BUT i didn't see.
Speaker 3 (53:06):
That so we're. Fun you haven't watched. It it's worth.
It it's worth it for how bad it. Is it's
worth it for how bad it is Because nick THE
cpr scenes In Madam web are it's it's. Cinema it's
it's WHAT i would refer to as cinema. Cinema there's
(53:28):
a reason why how did this get? Made it has
already Done Madam.
Speaker 1 (53:32):
Madam webb they.
Speaker 3 (53:33):
Did they Did craven The hunter as, well but that
one isn't as warranted as like. That you could have
Done craven The hunter, later, sure given it a little
bit of time to, breathe but you needed to do
Like Madam webb is so bad that you needed to
do it so. Quickly, Uh and it's worth watching for
(53:53):
how bad it. Is it's like. That the time doesn't make.
Sense acting doesn't makes. SENSE i couldn't save, this this
movie with good editing LIKE i could With Morbius, GOTCHA
i couldn't do it.
Speaker 1 (54:12):
The Dru it's it's morbid.
Speaker 3 (54:13):
TIME i will, say she Like Isabelle mer, said she
also Did dora The. EXPLORE i haven't seen the. Movie
the thing, IS i haven't seen, it but the commercials
THAT i saw for were like she she was giving,
it she was full.
Speaker 1 (54:28):
Sending So i'm so excited to see her as Hot girl, Though,
like LEGITIMATELY i think she'll do a fantastic. Job but,
yeah the last Of us season two hitting on all,
CYLINDERS i need another episode in my, life like a
(54:50):
like one of The frank episodes from season, One LIKE
i don't want it to be too formulaic where they
take an episode off and do ancillary. Characters but, man,
LIKE i THINK i think.
Speaker 3 (55:04):
That's what we're gonna get With Joey, pants Because Joey
pants Is catherine O'Hara's husband who, died who's to grow
the pine cones of. Weed. UH i think that's what
we're getting that, LATER i think probably either next episode
(55:24):
of the following because there's only seven episodes this, SEASON i,
believe so we only have three. LEFT i will, say,
man this most recent, Episode Jeffrey wright is in. Sane
it's like, you LIKE i was a little bit you
could be annoyed that they got rid Of Pedro pascal
(55:45):
as like an actual character on the, show but you know,
what you Got Jeffrey wright and also a lot of you.
Back so we're getting two great actors to replace one great.
Actor so it's it's an okay trade. Off Jeffrey, right
there's a scene in this in this most recent episode
(56:06):
that is, like It's Jeffrey wright Being.
Speaker 1 (56:09):
Jeffrey wright's voice consumes my soul in the best possible.
Speaker 3 (56:13):
Way this is the most MENACING i Think i've ever seen,
Him and it's kind of like the voice he had
and like whenever he would try and be like tough and,
uh what was the movie uh last year or the
year before.
Speaker 1 (56:31):
That Jeffrey wright was. In i'm SORRY i zoned out
there for a. Second you're.
Speaker 3 (56:35):
Good i'm trying to pull it.
Speaker 1 (56:36):
UP i mean he was In american, fiction Like American american.
Speaker 3 (56:45):
Fiction like, uh, oh, SHARE i lost my train of.
Thought it's, fine but, Yeah Jeffrey wright. Fantastic uh so
far in this one episode that we really had, him
we didn't get a lot From milana you back, yet
But i'm sure it's common it's. Coming so, yeah it's.
Been it's been a good season so.
Speaker 1 (57:06):
Far.
Speaker 3 (57:07):
NICK i did see Until dawn IT i don't see.
WHAT i don't see why people are crapping on, It
like it's not like a good. Movie but the thing
is it's giving you exactly what the premise of The
like it sets up a premise and it just builds
on that premise and it doesn't like it does a good.
Job it keeps you on your. Toes like multiple times
(57:30):
during the, MOVIE i was just, like what just? Happened
and why did that just? Happen and for in a
like kind of a good. Way it was LIKE i
was not expecting that to, Happen Thank, god because like
that's something. ORIGINAL i. Think, Yeah so it's not like
a like the acting is not great and and but
(57:54):
it's just a fun little horror movie that this. Is
like there are certain horror movies that you could literally
just have on in the, background especially like like someone
like of course there's like really good old ones that
people have that would just are comfort horror. MOVIES i
think this fits in the line of a movie Like Escape,
(58:14):
room where that's just a fun horror. Movie to watch,
it you. Don't once you've seen the, movie you kind
of understand. It but it's just a fun like because
the new each set piece is just. Fun SO i
Liked Until. DON i don't know WHY i got so
much hate on the. INTERNET i guess people just can't enjoy.
(58:36):
Something people just don't. Like i'm not saying it's a great,
movie but it's a fun. Movie like it's more fun
Than The. Monkey people liked The. Monkey it's more fun
than The. Monkey The monkey is not like a good.
Movie it's a fun. Movie it's not a good. Movie
Until don is a, fun okay. MOVIE i WOULD i
(58:59):
would watch this a billion times again BEFORE i would
Watch The monkey. Again so that's that's just.
Speaker 1 (59:07):
Me i've got a few movies That I'm i'm really
looking forward to coming out In. May you, Know friendship

my gut feeling on that. One also coming out a
little later later in Many, uh we do have The

these last Four Mission impossible, films is nothing short of.
Amazing And i'm pretty sure the dude's over sixty years old,
(01:00:28):
now so kudos to him for staying relevant in the
action the action movie.
Speaker 3 (01:00:36):

like make the l's with your, Hands, yeah make the
ls with your. Hands Very but the kid was On

Speaker 3 (01:03:09):
THIS i love martial arts. TOO i usually like if
a martial arts movie is in, theater you will usually
try and give it a, chance try and make it
to the movie to see, it because not a lot
of martial arts movies are gonna Make like the last
ONE i saw it wasn't very. GOOD i don't remember
what it was AND thattt tells you as much AS
(01:03:30):
i need.
Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
To but, uh you know, what And i'm gonna go
out on a limb. Here you may not be uh you,
know in on this. ONE i hope you are because
because it's it's it's from a horror franchise that really
developed my sense of terror on the highways and in the.

movie AND i believe it is the probably the last
time we'll See Tony todd on. Screen god rest his.

Gotcha i've only seen the First Final destination AND i was,
Like i'm, good LIKE i just we're.
Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
Good there are two kinds of people in this. World
there are the kinds of people that have Watched Final.
DESTINATION i believe it's. Two see the uh see that
doesn't bother me the lumber truck on the highway and they,
go oh fuck no and they get in a different
lane and zoom past. It or there's people like me
(01:04:39):
and apparently you let's, say you know, what.
Speaker 3 (01:04:43):
IF i, DIE i die a good.
Speaker 1 (01:04:45):
Run it's been a good.

Yeah i'm not gonna. Like they did set a seventy
one year old woman on fire and it's a, record
and that that's SOMETHING i. Respect but she came out
of retirement to do it.
Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
Too Things You Will only hear on was the. Podcast
she came.
Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
Out of retirement for it, Too SO i got to
respect her for. That that's the only that's literally the
only thing that's drawn like makes me want to go
see this is to respect the seventy one year old.
Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
Woman of respect for that stunt, Woman i'm gonna go
see for final destination. Bloodlines oh, god.

Movie DiCaprio's just great in most everything that he. DOES
i am a huge and will always be a Huge Tom.
Speaker 3 (01:11:56):
HANKS i think this is the movie that really propelled
like that hinges On leo being charming because like he
he's the bad. Guy he's always, charming but he has
to be charming the entire time of this movie if.
Speaker 1 (01:12:14):
You really look at. It he's the bad guy of the.
Speaker 3 (01:12:17):
Film, Yeah and And Tom hanks is the antagonist of the,
movie but he's the good. Guy he's the good guy
in real.
Speaker 1 (01:12:25):
Life he's the good. Guy so And.
Speaker 3 (01:12:27):
Tom hanks even Called Leonardo DiCaprio because After stephen sent
him the script with intentions Of tom Being leo's, dad
being in a smaller. Role, yeah But Leo tom whenever
he read the, script he really liked, handwriting and he Asked,
(01:12:51):

me to Get he's, LIKE i didn't think you would
want to be like a like the supporting actors to,
Somebody and he's, like it's a great, character and who
cares if it's a sporting. ROLE i, like it's a
great role with a with a great. Lead why WOULD
i not want to be in this? Movie and he
(01:13:13):
Called leo and was, LIKE i want TO i even

last page because it was on the special. Features. UH
i hope you don't mind. THAT i THAT i And
i'm sorry to be. INVOLVED i just love the character
(01:13:39):
AND i just wanted to work With steven. Again he
just he felt like if he was going to join the,
movie he might take some of the spotlight off Of
leo and he And leo was, like, no why WOULD
i want you to be in this?
Speaker 1 (01:13:51):
Movie WOULD i not want to work With?
Speaker 3 (01:13:55):

he talks about it's.
Speaker 3 (01:15:04):
One of his best work in the like in an interview,
recently the.
