Speaker 1 (00:01):
Well, hello there everyone. Welcome to a new edition of
the Washington Craft Your Talk podcast. I am your host,
mister Mike Jolly. Thank you so much for listening with
depends on what platform you're listening to me on, whether
it's iHeartRadio, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Or wherever you may get your podcasts.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Fixed.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
It has been a long time since I've done this,
you know, just factors have been going in and.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Out of you know things.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
But yeah, so we're back. We are actually on the
road right now in Los Angeles, California. It's been a
decent trip. I started off earlier this week in Las Vegas.
I could not find I was going to do a
Las Vegas local craft beer, but I couldn't find one.
(00:57):
So I did find one when I was here in
Los Angeles. This is called Golden Road Brewing right on
West Coast IPA.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
It's a seven.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Percent on the Richter scale from Golden Road Brewing in
Los Angeles, California. It contains wheat. Well that's nice, so
let's see if we can find out a little bit
more about.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Golden Road.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
You can go to their website.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Golden Road dot la.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Is that is that their website of.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Course it gives you the mandatory.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Mean seventy seven.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
For love Life and Los Angeles. I think I've had
their main I No, I don't think I've had the Mankart.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
I don't think I've had that.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
I've had a mango one before.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
I wish you could see what what bruise they had
and what information they have on say, they have brewphubs
at Atwater Village, Anaheim, Downtown LA and Huntington Harbor, so
nowhere near where I am, all right, So it says
(02:37):
here the right on West Coast ipa is a deliciously complex,
never complicated, the perfect ipa to take anywhere, bursting with
stone fruit and tropical flavors of apricot, peach and guava
with a crisp, hoppy finish.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
So let's crack this open and take it now.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Unfortunately, I don't do the poor on here anymore because
well I'm in a hotel room and they don't have
clear glasses, so Sey Levie, so we can learn more
about it. So it's got an IBU of fifty four,
(03:19):
uses Kashmir Idaho seven and Marilla and Strata hops uses
two row, Bohemian and Pilsner malts ooh interesting. So at
a seven percent with a fifty four ibu, let's give
this a taste, shall we?
Speaker 3 (03:36):
In?
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Three?
Speaker 3 (03:37):
In two in one?
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Here we go. Okay, that is pretty tasty. I'm not
gonna lie.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Definitely can taste the fruits in there, but don't don't
really taste the hoppiness. Let me let me let me
go for round two here. Yeah, okay, now I can
taste the hops. So yeah, it's very it's not complicated,
(04:24):
like they said, very complex, very very drinkable.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
I wish we would sell this up north.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Wow, in Washington State. Let's see if I can find distributors.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Maybe not, maybe not.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Yeah, I would love to actually find where I could
get this, Uh find beer?
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Okay, four or four not found? Oh kay? Then uh interesting?
Speaker 1 (05:14):
Okay, so I was trying to find, you know, find
the beer. It says four or four not found our shop.
So they have a mango car. Hang on, I may
I may have had this magno cart. I think I
may have. I'm not sure, but I may have.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
I don't know. I'll have to check.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
I think it was work that I bought this. So yeah,
So Golden Road Brewing for your right on West Coast
(06:00):
IPA as I grate everything on a zero to five star,
zero being the worst, five being the best. I give
You're right on West Coast IPA, A solid, solid.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
Four point seventy five. It is. It is that close
to perfection.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
You know, if I had a glass and I could
see it, well, I may have a cup. That's the
bad thing about staying in a hotel. You don't get
any glasses.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
You get cups.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
You get Dixy cups, so poores nice. You know, I
could cheat and go online to see what.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
This looks like, but you know, I don't do that.
I don't want to do that.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Almost feels like because there's a little bit ahead to
this because of course it's an I p A.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
But I don't know if you guys have seen this thing.
I don't know if it.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Was on TikTok or if it was on YouTube where
somebody puts like two little chocolate or whatever dots into
foam and then they put a blower and goes ooo.
That's what it feels like with this with this head here.
Just so from what I see, it is a very
(07:38):
good golden color. So that's bonus.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Points right there for me.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
So yeah, that puts it up to a five. I guess.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
That puts it up to a good solid five five
out of five.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Well done, Golden Road.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
One of these days when I come back to Los Angeles,
if I come back, I would like to, uh come,
take a take a visit to one of your one
of your group hubs. I think it would be an
awesome experience. I'd love to see what else, what else
you offer at your establishments. Well, folks, that's gonna wrap
(08:23):
things up for me. This is the second podcast I've
done this weekend. The first one was the of course
the Washington State Football Talk with the uh uh the
NFL Draft here. So, but it's good to be back
on the air, even though it's only been not even
ten minutes yet on this so and as always, folks,
(08:48):
know your limit, you know, no when to say when,
because drunk driving is you know, bad thing. Of course,
you know, when I met a guy over in Vegas
back in November, he told me about Tipsy Towing, where
they will tow your car for free. But you know,
take a bus like I do, take an uber, take
(09:09):
a lift, take a cab, have a friend pick you
up if you're close enough. Walk but for the love
of God, don't drink and drive. It's costly for you,
it's costly for your family, it's costly for the people,
the family of the person you hurt. It's just costly
all around. And it's not a not a good thing,
(09:30):
not good.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
I mean, you.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Guys all know about my adopted brother, right, come on now,
all right, folks, Well we're gonna drag this on.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
We're gonna get at least a ten minute episode.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Out of this.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Oh that is so tasty.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Oh my god, that is so good. Wow, that is
so good.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
All right, guys, well, I think that's going to wrap
it up for me.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
I hope you enjoyed it.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Don't forget to check out all my other episodes or
all my other episodes on demand on Spotify, iHeartRadio, Apple podcasts,
Google podcasts, wherever you get your podcast fixed, Podbean, pod Bay,
you know, the whole gambit. So thanks for listening. Love
(10:27):
you all, and I will I will see you when
I get home, which will be tomorrow. So till then,
