Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello and good evening. Thank you for listening to the
Washington Craft Roof Talk podcast. I am your host, mister
Mike Jolly. Thank you so much for listening. Wherever you
are listening from, whether it's on iHeartRadio, Spotify, Apple Podcast,
Amazon podcast, or wherever you make it your podcast. Fixed

(00:25):
it is at the time of this recording, it is very,
very very hot here. It's still I want to say,
probably about ninety let's just double check here. It's ninety
four degrees right now, and it's six point thirty in

(00:46):
the evening on Sunday, August tenth, So very very warm here.
Still very uncomfortable, but hey, that's what I am here for.
They give us a refreshing craft brew, and tonight is
no different. Tonight I have something from Two Towns Cider House.

(01:13):
This is what they call their Pristine Peach, a peach
apricot cider made with apricots and Northwest peaches. It has
a flavor profile here of bright and sunny. Pristine Peach
touches the peak through your taste buds with its cheerful flavor.
The smooth, subtle flavor of peach combined with a snappy

(01:34):
apricot or a great compliment to the touch of sweet honey.
And two Towns is based out of Corballis, Oregon, and
they give you a list of ingredients. I don't think
I've ever seen that before. Of colors, it says boldly

(01:57):
craft and an Oregon friends from two nearby town us
banded together on ambission to bring cider back to the
people through craft cider using whole fruit and no shortcuts.
Even though on the ingredients here it says apple wine,
peach juice, apricot juice, honey, malic acid, and sulfites. But

(02:19):
the can itself looks pretty awesome. An apricot looks like
it's the sun. There's a peach tree, and so let's
crack this open. You know we're gonna do a little
beer asmmr here all right, Oh, I can smell the peach,

(02:48):
all right. And just remember you can always listen to
all my other episodes on demand, so definitely check them out. Also,
before I do the poor I want to announce, as
I did on the Washington State Football Talk, that coming soon,
very soon, new official Washington podcast network. I guess you

(03:11):
can call it that official merchandise. I'm gonna be making
merchandise for all four of my podcasts. You know, we
got this one here, we got the Washington State Football Talk.
We have the Washington Wrestle Talk and the Washington Music Talk,
which hopefully, hopefully we'll be debuting very soon, sooner rather

(03:33):
than later. So let's get the Let's get the official
Guinnis glass here. We're gonna pour a little bit in here,
do a little more ASMR here, all right, right away,

(03:58):
I can tell it is looks like almost like peach nectar.
And I'm gonna snap a poor picture hair. It looks
like peach nectar almost just the way the color is.
It's pretty awesome. I mean, it looks refreshing, smells refreshing.

(04:21):
Let's see if it tastes refreshing. So this is Two
Towns Cider House, Pristine Peach peach apricot cider at a
six point nine. Wow, it's up there on the ABV rating.
Here we go in three two and one. Let's try it. Wow,

(04:52):
that's very tasty. I rather enjoy that. You get the
subtleness of the peaches and the apricots along with the
you know, the apple. It's very very well balanced, very

(05:13):
very delicious. Highly recommend it. There's not much more to say. Now,
do I want to do the the halfsider with this?
Mm hmmm, well maybe because we have it's an apricot

(05:34):
helf advising stuff, let's try that. Let's let's see here.
I'm gonna dump this out real quick. I will be
right back mhm yeah, okay, all right, we are back.

(06:08):
So I have the Windmer Brothers Apricot wheat hef of
Eisen at four point nine percent. So let's do a
little mixing match on this. We're gonna pour the cider.
I'm gonna do equal parts here, so I'm gonna have

(06:28):
a little bit of sider left and I'll probably just
drink that out of the can because those are these
cans are nineteen point two ounces, so they're kind of
kind of hefty, kind of big. Of course, we've got
the Windmer Windmer here going uh oh uh. That's the

(06:56):
problem with a wheat beer or an ipa. You get
a lot of head head meaning foam, of course, So
let that die down just a little bit. And the
one thing I've been I noticed right away here is
there is really no change in color between you know,

(07:18):
when you mix the two. So we'll put two towns
can on one side, We'll do widmer apricot on the
other side. A stupid camera out of the way, all right,

(07:52):
So let's give that a try, you know, very apricotty. Oh,
that's got an interesting profile to it. So let's give
this a taste to see how it goes. So this

(08:13):
is a heath cider. We got double apricot with peach.
Here we go. That's actually not half bad. Actually I
could get on board with that. Well, the color now

(08:37):
looks like more so a light ear like you know,
it's hard to say, but it doesn't taste like. Yeah,
I tasted more of the wheat, which is very unusual

(09:01):
because you know, you mix the two together, and I
think what happened was I didn't do equal portions per se.
I think, excuse me, I think I did more of
the apricot helf advison. That's why I'm getting the more
wheat flavor as opposed to the balance of the two

(09:26):
flavor profiles. Or maybe because you know, there's an there's
apricot in the cider and that canceled out the apricot
in the helf. So I'm just tasting, you know, it
could be a number of things. So who knows. But
as far as the Two Towns Cider House, Christine Peach,

(09:46):
you know, look look wise, you know, looks wise. It
looks fantastic. Like I said, it looked like a nectar,
you know, the the juice of the people, you know,
like a can of peach is basically the juice that's
that's in the cans peepes, you know, the Necker, et cetera. Yeah, whatever,
the can itself is visually esthetically pleasing, you know, bright colors,

(10:12):
it embodies, you know, what you can expect, you know,
with a peach tree, apricot as the sun, you know,
right down with the pit of the apricot. Taste wise,
oh yeah, it delivers. So Two Towns Cider House out
at Corvallis, Oregon, your pristine Peach cider uh is going

(10:36):
to get a very very well earned five and three
quarter stars out of a possible five. That is fantastic stuff.
Highly recommend you try it if you are in the Northwest,
or if you ever want to come to the Northwest,
give it a shot. Well, guys, I'm going to wrap

(10:58):
this one up. I think, uh, it's just too too
darn hot here. It's just way too hot for me
right now. But I want to thank you guys for listening.
Of course, don't forget to check out all my other episodes,
all my other podcasts, and you can listen on your
favorite podcast platform, whether it's Spotify, iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Podcasts,

(11:27):
podcast Attic, pod Chase, or pod Bay, pod Bean. A
list goes on and on and on, and I am
very thankful that I have you to come on this
ride with me. And again, don't forget to keep you know,
keep keeping look out for the new merchandise coming. I

(11:49):
will post it on all my social media platforms, including
my YouTube channel, so uh, definitely check that out. And
now it's come to that point where I have to
do it. You know, know your limits, no when to
say when? Okay, guys, you know because impaired driving alcohol

(12:10):
you know, you know DUIs are no fun because drunk
driving not only hurts you, hurts your family, but hurts
the family of the person that you hurt. Costly, costly thing,
costly for you, costly for your family, costly for their family,
costly for them. If you do see yourself too impaired

(12:30):
to drive, get an uber, get a lift, get a taxi,
do what I do, ride the bus, I mean, get
tipsy towing to tow your car home, have a friend
to pick you up if you're close enough. Walk, but
please do not drink and drive. It's not worth the

(12:52):
pain and suffering you will cause with it. All right, guys,
that wraps up for me. Hope you enjoyed it. I
will see you on the next episode of whatever podcast
I'm doing, so Lord only knows which one I'm gonna
do next. All right, until next time, this has been
the washing Craft Brew Talk. I've been your host, mister
Mike Jolly, Thank you so much for listening. I love

(13:12):
you all and have yourselves a wonderful, wonderful evening. Take
care bye. We'll see on the next one.
