Speaker 1 (00:01):
Good evening, everyone, and welcome to the debut episode of
the Southwest Washington Life podcast. I am your host, mister
Mike Jolly, also known as the host of the Washington Podcast,
the Washington Root Talk Podcast, and the Washington State Football
Top Podcast. Thank you so much for for joining me
(00:30):
tonight on this debut episode. So a little a bit
about why I'm doing this. It came as an idea
from myself and my father because there's a new business
that just opened up here in Vancouver, Washington, where I live.
(00:53):
He thought it would be cool for me to do
a podcast, you know, a live show from there. And
the more I thought about it, the more I'm like
h And then the idea came again last night when
I was at a place called Latte Da. Now Latte
(01:15):
Do is located on thirty ninth Street, just off of
Maine Street in Vancouver, Washington. They are a coffee and
you know wine place. But last night they had live music,
(01:37):
you know, three different three different artists performed, of course,
with my brother from another mother, mister Jared. He started
the festivities off with a five song set lasted about
twenty five minutes, and then the next act came on
and then the final act came on to the point
(02:00):
got to the point where I guess a neighbor had
called and complained noise of the third and final act
was too loud, and you know, at one point I
did see a police officer arrive. But Late Do is
actually a really cool place. They have a message you know,
(02:23):
a message board where people can post you know, you know,
put like their business card or whatnot on this board.
They have some really delicious food there between their sandwiches
and you know, their coffees that they have. They also
sell you know, wine, champagne, and of course beer, but
(02:46):
the beers are canned, just like mixed drinks are canned.
But it's a you know, really cool place. And so
I figured this Sunday they're having an open house where
they will have wine tasting, live music, hot rods, new
(03:11):
menu items. They're also gonna have face painting for the kiddos.
So if you are in the area in southwest Washington,
check it out. And I'm may I'm actually going to
be doing a live show there. I have decided if I'm
going to bring laptop or if I'm just gonna do
(03:31):
it off my phone. We shall wait and see. But yeah,
that's just the gist of the show. The episodes will
be you know, probably longer, but we're gonna you know,
profile and spotlight local businesses here in the Southwest Washington
(03:57):
area and you my audience will get to know these places.
It's gonna be kind of like me doing a live
brew cast from uh, you know, a micro brewe like
I've done you know, in the past with certain places.
(04:21):
So stay tuned and we'll we'll get this ball rolling here.
I did want to point out my good friend Nathan
and I have decided to start a new endeavor, but
that's gonna be saying for the craft brew talk and
(04:45):
we'll do that at another time. However, I am going
to keep this one short, simple and sweet. I literally
just got home. It's Rose Festival in Portland, Oregon, for
the next couple of weeks, and they have what's called
Fleet Week where Coast Guarden Navy ships come in on
(05:09):
the Willamette River, and unfortunately that means bridge lifts, and
bridge lifts mean lots of traffic, and lots of traffic
means sometimes you know, late transit. So yeah, there's that.
(05:30):
But I was going to do the live show on
this tonight. But you know, with it being you know,
me so late, it just wasn't doable. So but it's
still going to get posted onto all my social media's,
(05:50):
you know at Triple our product of Court, which is
my Twitter handle, all my podcasts. I'm going to post
it on my Facebook and I'll put a link to
my Facebook in what is all of that? Oh, it's
(06:14):
going to be a wild ride. And I'm glad that
you're coming along with me for this ride. So sit back,
take a deep seat up and enjoy the ride. Well,
thank you for listening to this debut episode, which is
you know, basically aide look for longer episodes in the
(06:39):
coming weeks, months, ads, whenever's you know, as I do
live live episodes from you know, different local local businesses
and establishments. And I hope that if any of you
ever get to visit this part of the country or
(07:01):
you know, this part of the world, if you're listening,
you know, like my friends in Canada and Ireland, if
you ever get a chance to come out this way,
you'll know where to where exactly to go and you
can tell them, yeah, I heard them on that Southwest
Washington Life podcast. All right, ladies and gentlemen, I'm gonna
wrap up here. I hope you have a great evening.
(07:25):
Don't forget This weekend, of course is the Latte DA
Open House, and if you're in Portland, also is the
Rose Festival. Grand Floral Parade is Saturday. So I believe
they're gonna televise that. I'm not sure if they're gonna
televise it nationwide or if it's just gonna be locallyvised. Definitely,
(07:53):
definitely check it out if you're in the area or
if you're you know, who knows right, who knows all right?
So thank you for listening. Just remember I love you all,
and a great evening, great weekend, and I will see
you on the next episode. Until then, take care,
