Let's kick off today's weather playbook with some sizzling stats. Overnight, we're looking at a mostly clear sky with temperatures dropping to a cool 63 degrees. It's gonna be calmer than a rookie's first huddle out there!
Moving into our Weather Playbook segment, today I want to talk about something super cool: temperature inversions! Think of it like a defensive line in football - sometimes the warm air actually sits on top of the cooler air, creating this crazy atmospheric blockade. In Mesa, we see these inversions a lot, trapping heat and creating some seriously unique weather conditions. Meteorological magic, folks!
Now for our three-day forecast - and I'm calling these plays like I used to call plays on the field:
Friday: Sunny with a high near 92 degrees. Wind's gonna be calm, then swing west around 5 miles per hour in the afternoon. It's gonna be a perfect pass of a day!
Saturday: Another sunny stunner with temperatures climbing to 94 degrees. Winds will start calm, then shift south southeast around 5 miles per hour in the morning.
Sunday: We've got a slight curve ball - 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 in the morning. Temperatures dropping to a more moderate 81 degrees with south winds 5 to 10 miles per hour.
