All that concrete and asphalt absorb sunlight during the day and then radiate heat at night. It's like the city's wearing a thermal jersey that just won't quit! That's why urban areas can be several degrees warmer than surrounding rural areas. Meteorological science - boom!
Now, for our three-day forecast, I'm calling this our offensive weather strategy:
Sunday: High of 104 degrees - that's hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk! Winds shifting from east to southwest, potentially gusting up to 20 miles per hour.
Monday: Mostly sunny with a high near 101 degrees. Wind will be playing defense, shifting from southeast to west southwest.
Tuesday: We're cooling down slightly with a high near 91 degrees. West southwest winds might get a bit frisky, gusting up to 25 miles per hour.
Oh, and heads up - we've got an Air Quality Alert in effect. So if you're sensitive to air conditions, maybe think of this as a defensive play and stay indoors during peak heat.
