Weather Playbook Time! Today, I want to talk about something called the "Heat Island Effect." Just like how a football team creates energy in a stadium, cities create their own heat zones. Mesa, with all its concrete and buildings, can actually be a few degrees warmer than surrounding desert areas. It's like our urban landscape is its own defensive line, trapping heat and making things sizzle!
Now, let's look at our three-day forecast - and I'm calling this play-by-play like I'm in the broadcast booth:
Monday: Partly sunny with a high near 100 degrees. Winds will be breezy, Southeast at 5 to 15 miles per hour, gusting up to 25 miles per hour. It's gonna be hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk - trust me, I've tried!
Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 90 degrees. Southwest winds 5 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts up to 25 miles per hour.
Wednesday: Sunny, high near 86 degrees. Calm winds becoming west around 5 miles per hour in the afternoon.
