Speaker 1 (00:00):
The greatest hits of all time.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Ninety four point seven w Elk Elkins, WVRC Media Station.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
We're proud to live here too.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
This is a special presentation of WVRC Media Sports the
Class Single A Playoffs with the Tucker County Mountain Lions.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Our coverage is brought to you.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
By but Tiki cole House, Hunter's Real Estate, Mountain Valley Bank,
West Virginia, Babing, Pioneer Insurance Agency, Dave's Service Center, and
Sunnyast Carpet.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Now let's get to the stadium for all the action
on ninety four point seven.

Speaker 5 (00:36):
Welk and we welcome you him to Chile, Parsons, West Virginia,
Greg White and to Manuel Smith. Ready to call what
we think is the most dynamic game of the playoffs
this weekend. It is the last kickoff of the semifinal
weekend and it is a good one.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Two undefeated teams do in.

Speaker 5 (00:59):
Battle here in Parsons number three, Wahama number two, Tucker
County and Dmmanuel Smith. When you look at this game,
the thing kind of that stands out to me is
the mirror image of these two teams. You've got two
amazing running backs, Connor Lambert for Wahama, Jared Reel for
Tucker County, and you've also got a massive offensive line

(01:22):
and a stingy defense.

Speaker 6 (01:23):
You just nailed it, and that's the focus is gonna
be on Connor Lambert and Jared Wheel for both teams.

Speaker 7 (01:28):
But both teams are very explosive on offense.

Speaker 6 (01:30):
Like you mentioned, well, Ohama comes in here nearly seven
hundred points scored on the season so far, average in
about fifty eight points a game.

Speaker 7 (01:36):
And then you look at Tucker they've gone.

Speaker 6 (01:38):
Over the fifty point mark seven times out of eleven
games as well.

Speaker 7 (01:42):
So these are two teams they can definitely put up
the points.

Speaker 6 (01:44):
They're two teams that are definitely going to play defense
and play defense.

Speaker 7 (01:47):
Well, so this is.

Speaker 6 (01:48):
Gonna be a battle on the snowy, muddy whatever you
wanna call this.

Speaker 7 (01:52):
Turf we not going on here.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
Yeah, it is a natural grass surface here in Parsons.
It is a little slick in places. When you look
between the two in the middle of the field, it's
pretty much all mud. If you get outside, you should
be okay. Outside the hash mark. You know, we talk
about those two teams. Tucker County comes in on the
season averaging forty four point three points a game. Wohama,

(02:16):
on the other hand, averages fifty eight yes point two
a game. Defensively, though Tucker County only giving up seven
and a half points on the season, Wohama gives up
about fourteen. So again we talk about the mirror image
of these teams, and I think the key really for
both defenses is you cannot let Jared Reel or Connor

(02:38):
Lambert get behind you because you'll never catch you one.

Speaker 6 (02:40):
Absolutely, the name of the game on defense is contain
and do your job. If both teams can do that,
you can try to shut these guys down. But whichever
team does not do that is gonna be in a
long There's gonna be a lot of trouble day, and
it's gonna be a long day.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
If Tucker County decides to throw the football, which they
obviously can do with quarterback Samuel Marks almost two thousand
yards in the air, He's.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Got some pretty exciting.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
Weapons at six three and six ' four, Reed Kaisamore
Garrett will Fong. So the first week of the playoffs,
so we saw Reed Kaisimore kind of go off because
they doubled up Garrett Willfong let left ree Kaisimore. Last
week just the opposite they doubled up Reed Kaisimore Garrett Willfong.
So defensively, if you're Wuhama, you have got to pay
attention to those big receivers because not only are they tall,

(03:26):
they can jump out.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Of the gym.

Speaker 6 (03:27):
Absolutely it's basketball. I mean they're both basketball players. They're
going to go high point the football at its highest point,
and you're gonna have to basically box out and contain
these guys from getting up in the air and pulling
that ball down.

Speaker 5 (03:39):
You know, the teams are out. Now, let us just
say this. We were just talking about it before we
went on the air. Obviously, an amazing crowd across the
way and here to our right. If it sounds a
little odd for us, it's kind of a smaller press
box here at Tucker County and unfortunately they didn't have
a room in the press box.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
But that's okay. We've got a table.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
We are actually in the stand with the Tucker County
fans here on the press box side of the field,
and it's a beautiful night. But on the other side
of the press box, I don't know if you could
get another person from Wahama in there, which is pretty
exciting considering how far they had to come.

Speaker 7 (04:17):
Absolutely unbelievable.

Speaker 6 (04:18):
And I was talking to a gentleman over there from
Muhamma a moment ago, and he said, no matter what
the situation is, that's how they travel, doesn't matter the distance.
They have a very very good support system, and obviously
it's very good today as well.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
So it is it is.

Speaker 5 (04:32):
We talked to our friend Tom Sussman, he's with the
Wahama radio station, former state delegate, just a very nice guy.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Tom Sussman. He and I talked earlier.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
In the week and he said, it's about a four
hour trip over here. Obviously, Wahama a little bit south
of Parkersburg. It's right across the river from Palme Roy, Ohio,
if you're familiar with that.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
And basically they went up.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
To Partnersburg, came across fifty and boom here they are.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
You know.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
One of the things they do here at Tucker County,
and I really really like this when they honor America
with the national anthem, Tucker County has a couple of
players come out, one player with the state state flag
of Western Virginia. The other with the American flag. The
Wahama band is here, saw them just moments ago unloading
over on the side.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Temperature wise right now, Well, I think we're okay. No,
we're good right now.

Speaker 7 (05:27):
No win, that's a good thing.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
No wind, and we didn't just we decided, well, I
decided not to set up potent.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
So if the wind starts blowing, it's my fault.

Speaker 7 (05:35):
Hey, we're braving nail them. It's like the player. So
we're going to bring it to you in real time here.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
That's exactly rare.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
Feel all right, you're listening to Tucker County Mountain Line Football,

Oh Yo, Let's go Places ninety four point seven w E.
Lk Elkins.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
Our pregame show continues here on ninety four point seven
w E LK joined by the head coach of Tucker County,
Aj Rapp.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
And you know, we go back to the last week and.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
It was a little tight in the first half, but
then things seemed to go the right way for you.

Speaker 10 (07:19):
Yeah, I mean, it's just but it's hard when you
play each other twice, you know, it's it's fresh game today,
don't know a lot about each other. You know, we
played East already twice, Pendlton twice, so they're gonna give
us any give penalty and all the credit there.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
They're a good.

Speaker 10 (07:30):
Football team, you know, and uh, we just you know,
we did some things at halftime and our kids, you know,
wanted to try some things we did. And you know,
I've learned over the years to start listening to.

Speaker 7 (07:39):
My kids a little bit.

Speaker 10 (07:40):
They're the ones out on the field, so you know
when they tell you better listen, and I did. And
you know, we took them and did some good things
defensive and offensively both and you know, ended up winning
that one.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
You know, it seems like almost every game somebody different
steps up. A couple of weeks ago, was reed Kaisa
moreals Garrett will Fong last week.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Do you know that going in or is it just
you know, what's happening to that particular day, Who's gonna
have the success?

Speaker 10 (08:02):
Well, I mean honestly, you trade film, and you know
if you look at if you look at film like
the week before, everybody wants to cover read you know,
and if you then so they kind of leave Garrett open.

Speaker 7 (08:10):
And we've got a lot of good weapons out there.

Speaker 10 (08:11):
I mean, you know, we've got Garrett and Reid both
weapons at any time. You got Keeling out there, who's
solid players can you know, he doesn't do the big
games like those guys do, but he's solid for you.
You got Luke Barr out there the same thing. He makes,
put sketches when he has to. And you know, see,
we got four guys out there. It's hard to cover,
you know. And the obviously got Jared, who's just Jared
every game.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
He's consistent.

Speaker 10 (08:29):
You know. So you got you got five guys there
that you really got.

Speaker 7 (08:31):
To watch out for.

Speaker 10 (08:32):
And and it's it's tough to watch out all five.
And you got to pick one to pick your poison,
so to speak.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
You know.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
Uh, you know, we've talked about the offensive line and
what a great job they do, but you know, one
one player. We don't talk a lot about his cave,
you know, because when he's in the game, he gives
you a solid block in the in clearing the way
for Jared.

Speaker 7 (08:53):
Yeah, he does.

Speaker 10 (08:54):
And and something Jared's asked for. You know, we even
last year we ran a little bit with Kve, but
not near as much in Jared's asked for a lead blocker,
and Cage kind of come into his own this year,
you know, and it does a good job for us.
And of course he has to because if not, the
coach gets mad. So you know, Dad, dad, Dad, He
hears it all week long, and you know, so he
does a good job for us. And you know, even defensively,
he's picked it up this year. You know, typically he's

(09:15):
been a linebacker and we need some guys for defense
tackle this year and he stepped down and you know
it went down, not down, but he stepped up at
the defensive tackle and he's done a nice job there
for us.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
You know, we talk about the gravity of this game.

Speaker 5 (09:27):
Do you feel like, you know the fact that hey,
we win this one, we're going to the state title game,
is that weighing on the players at all?

Speaker 10 (09:33):
I hope not. I mean We've talked all week long,
and we've talked all year long. We're about the next
game that we're about to you know, the one passed
this and this is our next game, you know today
with with Muhamma here and you know, we know we're
up against it, and you know, I lower rating system.
I talk about it all the time. I think it's
one of the greatest things there is that makes your
season matter, you know, and and I like how it is,
but sometimes it seems like it's punished me a few times.
You know, We've we've hosted three semi final games here,

(09:55):
and it seems like all three years of those semi
final games have been the championship game. You know, we
played Madonna back in twenty twelve, Williams Sound last year,
you know, and we were probably one of the better
of the two teams. And the same thing here today,
you know, with Mohamma. You know, I'd like to met
them and Charleston next week and you know, and had something.
But now it is what it is. We're playing. You know,
there's only six that's some wing the boys in there.
There's only sixteen other teams in the state that was

(10:16):
playing this weekend. And we're one of them such that
we can't ask for more than that.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
And let me just ask you.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
You know, I think a lot of people were surprised
by the outcome of the other single a game last night.
Cameron went in and not only be tug Valley but
pretty much had their way with him.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Were you surprised by that at all?

Speaker 10 (10:32):
I've surprised how far it in that I do would
be a good ball game, I thought, Cameron. I watched
them play Pendleton County, you know, on tape, you know,
obviously his stuff, and I knew they had a good
ball club, and you know, and tug Valley did too,
because you know, we played tug Valley up here and
coach Ford Dunner does a nice job with those kids,
and you know they were young last year and a
year older. But I was surprised at the outcome. I
knew it would be a good ball game. I didn't
wasn't sure which way it was going to go.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
All right, Well, what about you? Is the gravity of
today's game wag in on you any.

Speaker 7 (10:58):
It's every game.

Speaker 10 (10:59):
It doesn't matter, it doesn't matter what time I got
to I had to I had to call my trainer
and stop, pick me up a pack of gum.

Speaker 7 (11:04):
I'm feel a little wheezy. So it doesn't matter.

Speaker 10 (11:05):
But that's why I tell the kids, I mean, I
getting nervous my cage. He's the same way. I mean,
he's an erratyed die. You mean him to shoot a
half a pack of gum? I think so far today
and and but once they kick it off, it's all
football and we just play it and see what happens.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
So, yeah, you got a tough running back wuhamma.

Speaker 5 (11:18):
I mean he's got over two thousand yards forty touchdowns
on the season.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
You know. Do you think you know with the snow
and the weather that we've had, you know.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
Feels a little slick in places, is does that help
equalize it a little bit?

Speaker 3 (11:30):
Ah?

Speaker 7 (11:30):
You never know.

Speaker 10 (11:31):
I mean he's a good athlete, you know, he's he's
a good player. Good players play hard. It don't matter
what conditions are, you know, So we look for him
to have a good ball game today. We're just you know,
I told the kids, we're not gonna catch him. We
don't have a kid on our team that can catch him.
But we got ways we can slow him down. And
that's with our technique and how we do things and
make sure we're in the proper spots. Don't give him
those seams and run up the field on us. Because
if you look at most of his his touchdowns this year,
thirty forty yard touchdowns, you know when someone gave him

(11:53):
a seam. So we just we just want to cast
he gets giving him those seams and you know, make
him earn it.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
All right, it's gonna be great. We'll tee it up
here in just a minute. Tucker County, Wahama continues on
ninety four point seven.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
Let's go places.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
So the teams are out Wohama, unfortunately for US, wearing
all white. They've got white jerseys, white pants, white helmets,
the w logo on the side that is reminiscent of Wisconsin. Yes, absolutely, man, Yeah,
their helmet looks like Wisconsin. They have red numbers trimmed

(14:14):
lightly in black. Tucker County has not made their way
out of the locker room yet, but when they come out,
aj Raps God Squad will be in their home black uniforms,
the black jerseys, the black pants, the black helmets and
the gold numerals. You hear the crowd. They're rupped around
us as the Mountain Lions make their way out of

(14:37):
their warm locker room. Temperature right now hovering around thirty
degrees as the sun continues to drop, it's definitely moved
off of the football playing surface still on the mountain
up around the high school and up in Davis and
all that. But as the evening goes on, temperatures will

(14:57):
drop just a little bit more. The West Virginia Secondary
School's Activities Commission serves its two hundred and eighty six
member schools and their students by providing leadership and support
for the conduct of education based athletics which enrich the
educational experience of all participants, play, per form, compete together.

(15:18):
As we mentioned, this is semifinal weekend. All lot of
the games played last night, some games going on right now,
some of them are already wrapped up. At one thirty
this afternoon, they kicked off up into Eastern Panhandle, number
five Huntington and number one Martinsburg, currently tied at twenty eight,
currently tied at twenty eight. Shocked by that score. I

(15:41):
knew Huntington was a good team that man. Martinsburg's tough
to beat, and of course number two spring Mills no
trouble with number six Hurricane. They win that one forty
nine to seven. In Class Quada last night, Number four
Herbert Hoover rolled over number one Princeton thirty five to twelve.
There in the championship game next Saturday afternoon or Saturday

(16:03):
at noon, and it looks like they're going to be
playing number three Bridgeport as they beat number two Fairmont
Senior thirty six to seven Class DOUBLEA.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Both games last night number one Frankfurt over number four.

Speaker 5 (16:14):
Williamstown forty nine to seven and number two Ron County
no trouble with number three Independent final score there forty
two to seven. And in Class Single A, the winner
of this one will face number four Cameron. They not
only defeated number one tug Valley last night, they defeated
them handily thirty six to nothing. Championship game in Class

(16:36):
Single A next Friday at noon. So we got a
again a full stands across the way, the home stands
completely full. Here to our right, a completely full Tucker
County fan base. And on the other side of the
press box here on the press box side, Wahama has
pretty much brought everybody that lives in the town.

Speaker 6 (16:56):
I think absolutely there's nobody in town right now. I
promise you that everything is closed up. We are glad
you are along for Tucker County football. It is the semifinals.
The winner of this one will be at UC Stadium,
Laidley Field next.

Speaker 5 (17:12):
Friday at noon for the championship game. So Wahama wins
the opening toss, they defer their option to the second half,
so we will see the Tucker County Mountain Lions on offense. First,
Let's go through the offenses first of all. For number
two Tucker County twelve and zero on the season, forty
four point three points per game. Across the front, it'll

(17:36):
be Colton Teeter, Quante Mitchell, Gavin Nestor, Mark Phillips, and
Josh Crossland. The wide receivers six to four Senior Garrett
will Fong five to nine, Junior ree kaizam Or, Keelan
Eichelberger and Lucas Barb. The fullback is Cade Rapp. The
quarterback or the tailback brother Jared Reel nineteen hundred and

(17:56):
twenty five yards, twenty eight touchdowns on the ground, two
in the air, and the quarterback Junior Samuel Marks sixty
six percent completion rate, nineteen hundred and thirty seven yards,
twenty seven touchdowns. He's also carried the ball fifty five
times for eighty seven yards and seven touchdowns. Defensively for Wahama,
Seth Olinger, Hunter Miller, Charles Fowler, Caden Raus and Austin

(18:20):
called Well. Across the front, Jake Roberts, Benjamin with Row,
and Reason Stitt are the linebackers. Cornerbacks Connor Lambert, Tray Simpkins.
Richard Jordan is the safety Tucker County will be moving
toward the scoreboard here at the class of nineteen eighty
four field here in Tucker County, Kaizamore and will thong
back to receive the kick. It is gonna bounce be

(18:42):
scooped up at about the ten yard line. That's Lucas
Barb across the fifteen ahead across the twenty and then
he is brought down. It'll be first down and ten
for Tucker County.

Speaker 7 (18:57):
Going to be.

Speaker 5 (18:57):
Difficult to kind of figure out where we are on
the field.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
What's like the twenty five yard line?

Speaker 7 (19:02):
Good call? Good guess yea even better?

Speaker 3 (19:06):
I like it right until I live my life.

Speaker 5 (19:09):
Ball on the far side hashmark for Tucker County at
their own twenty five yard line. Barb and will fall
and the receiver split to the nearer side. Kaisimore Eichelberger
to the far side, left out of the pistol with
Samuel Marks with Jared Reel standing behind him. First down
and ten handoff Jared Reel looking for running room. He

(19:29):
will push his way breaking a tackle.

Speaker 13 (19:31):
Day's into the open field across the fifty the forty
five to forty, the thirty five to thirty, the twenty five,
twenty fifteen, ten five, and he has tackled down inside
of the five yard line at the one.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
But stand by, that run could be coming back.

Speaker 6 (19:47):
I think you are correct, and I think they're going
to call that nasty hole on the left side of
the Tucker County offensive line.

Speaker 7 (19:54):
But let's see what they call here.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
I saw the flag come in as Jared Reel kind
of dissip peered in a bunch of players, and then
all of a sudden, down the field he went and actually,
I think is going to go against Wahama.

Speaker 7 (20:10):
They did the hat waved it off.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
Yeah, they waved the flag off.

Speaker 5 (20:14):
So the run goes down to the one yard line.
Oh and it was a penalty against Wahama. Did you
hear the call as personal fouls a face mask? It's
a face mask, so it's a half the distance. So
it ends up being a half yard penalty. But the
ball is now on the one yard line. A seventy

(20:36):
four yard run for Jared Reel. It's first and goal
for Tucker County at the one yard line of Wohama.
Snap handoff, Jared Reel lowers his shoulder drives his leg
and Wahamma pushes him sideways. He'll actually lose a yard
back to the two yard line.

Speaker 6 (20:52):
Well, there's a lot of beef up front on that
defensive line for Wahama and that time they just stood
real straight up.

Speaker 7 (20:56):
How much you can do.

Speaker 5 (20:57):
What a way to start for Tucker County is Jared
Reel breaks down the far sideline for seventy four yards.
Second down and goal at the two power run formation
with the stick eye marks takes the snap.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Drives his legs forward, He's into the end zone.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
It's a Tucker County touchdown.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
Whip Wow, Just like that.

Speaker 5 (21:27):
Tucker County takes the opening possession down the field and
they punch it into the end zone. They have a
six to nothing lead and as always Tucker County.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
Not much on the kicking, so they will go for two,
Yes they will.

Speaker 7 (21:43):
But what a way to open up if you're a
Tucker County and coach rap.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Less than two minutes now the two point conversion.

Speaker 5 (21:54):
As they line up in that stick eye formation once again,
they hand it off to Jared Reel trying to bounce
it outside.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Did he get in? Did he break the plane? He
did not.

Speaker 5 (22:02):
Wohama stopped him ten fifty nine to go and the
first quarter it is Tucker County six, Wohama nothing. We'll
be back in thirty seconds. Ninety four point seven w Elk.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
FDICE, Tucker County Mountain Lyon football on ninety four point seven,
w Elk, Elkins.

Speaker 6 (22:56):
And Samuel mars On the two yard touchdown run for
the Tucker Can Mountain Lions that caps off a three
play seventy five yard fifty five second drive. Two point
conversion did fail, however, Tucker County leads six zero.

Speaker 5 (23:10):
Mountain Lions start and strong. They wanted a great start
and they got it now Oohama ready to receive the
kick off. Connor Lambert along with reason stipped it is
a skipping kick. Comes down to stint at the ten.
He's across the fifteen to twenty, right up the middle
of field twenty five to thirty thirty five forty and

(23:31):
he will be tackled down right across the forty yard line.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
So an outstanding.

Speaker 5 (23:35):
Position to start out. Four the White Falcons of Wahama.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
And gonna be interesting to see what Connor Lambert can
do on this surface. I know they have a grass
surface at Wahama, but conditions here today are going to
be a little challenging for both teams.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
We think so far it didn't look like Tucker County
had a whole lot of stay there to start.

Speaker 7 (23:55):
Putting a whole lot of issues on the on the
black and gold side for sure.

Speaker 5 (23:58):
So first down and ten for Wahama. The quarterback is
Terrace Simpkins. He is out of the pistol, shifts some
people around Dylan Fields in the backfield. Lambert is the
wing on the near side from the forty yard line,
moving right to left. They send Lambert in motion fake
it to him it's a quarterback run. He's across the

(24:19):
forty five break's a tackle at the fifty. Funneled the
football and then he just fell right back into it.
For tuitous bounce of the pig skin for Wahama. As
the quarterback lost the ball and then he picked it up,
so trace Simpkins on the carry. He's down and recovers
the fumble at the Tucker County forty one.

Speaker 6 (24:41):
Good nineteen yard pickup there for Whama. I got lucky
with that bounce in the fumble though.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
Now Lambert in the backfield stands to the left of Simpkins.
Two receivers to the right, ball right in the middle
of the field. Wohama moves right to left, trailing six
to nothing. Snap comes back, they hand it off to Lambert.
Lambert bounces it outside. He's got the thirty five to
thirty down the near.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
Sideline, twenty five to twenty fifteen to ten to five
in zone touchdown.

Speaker 7 (25:05):
Oh my, talk about speed.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
A forty one yard touchdown.

Speaker 5 (25:10):
Connor Lambert found the seam and he was gone, Wow.
We knew he was fast, but until you see it
in person, you just don't understand.

Speaker 6 (25:22):
Yes, I've kind of followed him throughout the season just
because you heard the hype earlier and you heard people
talk about the camera couldn't keep up with him because
he's so fast. That was an exact reason, right for
example right there as to what they're talking about.

Speaker 5 (25:36):
So now the extra point try from Wyatt Harris snap
is back and they fake it.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
Simpkins has it looking down the field. Now he's gonna
run with it, and he is into the end zone.

Speaker 5 (25:48):
For the two point conversion. It is now Tucker County six,
Wohama eight. We got a good one here in persons.
We'll be back in thirty seconds on ninety four point
seven w Elk Day.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
You're listening to the Class Single A playoffs with Tucker
County on ninety four point seven.

Speaker 6 (26:40):
W elk, Welcome back to Parsons, West Virginia where Connor
Lambert gets on the scoreboard for the White Falcons on
a forty one yard touchdown run. Was a two plane
drive covered sixty yards and all of thirty one seconds.
Two point conversion was good. Wahama leads eight to six.

Speaker 5 (26:58):
My goodness, with what the highest scoring playoff game ever was,
we might be approaching that, so we might find out.
Here is the short kickoff. It comes down to one
of the upmen for Tucker County. Not too many ways
to go there. Ball went into the hands of Caden Arnold.
He scooped it up but just didn't really have anywhere
to go with it. They will bring him down to
Tucker County on offense. They will spot the ball at

(27:23):
about the thirty six yard line on their own side
of the field. Tucker County moving left to right as
you follow the action toward the scoreboard, and we get
some fireworks early on to man.

Speaker 6 (27:36):
Well, we talked about Jaredriel. We talked about Corr Lambert.
You knew that those are the two guys that were
going to be the spotlight. So far, two drives doing
their thing, two.

Speaker 5 (27:45):
Receivers near side, singer of the fire side, snap comes
back hand off Jared Real nice hole near side.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
He's got the forty forty.

Speaker 5 (27:51):
Five down the sideline fifty and he's bumped out of
bounds in Wahamma territory. Across the fifty at about the
forty seven yard line of Wohama.

Speaker 6 (28:00):
And again just another good run about Jared Reel. But
how about that offensive line creating the holes. I've got
it seventeen yards? Did I do math properly?

Speaker 3 (28:11):
Good?

Speaker 7 (28:12):
You did?

Speaker 3 (28:12):
Look at me.

Speaker 7 (28:13):
That's impressive.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
I never do math.

Speaker 5 (28:15):
Ball is on the nearer side, hash Mark at their
own forty seven yard line, moving left to right, two
receivers near side, a wing on the near side as well,
Jared Reel in the backfield. They'll hand it off to
Jared Reel running hard, lowers his shoulder, ducks under a tackle,
keeps his legs driving, Ed takes it ahead to about
the forty one yard line. It's a six yard pickup

(28:39):
on first down. For Tucker County and Jared Reel's just
making himself as small as he can.

Speaker 7 (28:45):
Well he can't well, speaking of small, he's what five
to five?

Speaker 3 (28:47):
Yeah, he is time five.

Speaker 6 (28:48):
He's going five to five and making himself about five
feet right now, and Muhama's having a really difficult time
locating him.

Speaker 7 (28:54):
In the backfield.

Speaker 5 (28:55):
Kids are more of the receiver on the left. Two
receivers to the near side. Marks out of the piss
still wants it, hands it off. Jared Reel looking for
running room this time. Mohama waiting on him. They will
bring him down. He'll get across the forty to the thirty.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
Nine yard line.

Speaker 5 (29:09):
It's a two yard pickup for senior tailback Jared Reel.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Clock rolls here in the first quarter.

Speaker 5 (29:17):
Nine twenty to go Wohama eight, Tucker County six.

Speaker 6 (29:21):
And a good good job of this Tucker County offensive
front so far, doing a very good job against this
Wahama front.

Speaker 5 (29:29):
It's third down at about two from the Wahama thirty
nine yard line. Two receivers nearside, single to the far side,
ball on the nearside hash Mark Marks wants to throw
it pump fake now he's looking deep down the field
for Red Kaizamore.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
It is almost.

Speaker 5 (29:43):
Intercepted by Connor Lambert Lambert on the bump and run coverage.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
The pass falls incomplete and.

Speaker 5 (29:50):
It is now fourth down and about two decision time
for head coach aj Rappin.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
You know, I think semifinal game. Yeah, I think you
got to go for this Wahamma territory.

Speaker 7 (30:01):
Absolutely I do.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
Now, I'm not a.

Speaker 5 (30:03):
Coach, which is why I'm standing in the bleachers talking
on the microphone right now.

Speaker 6 (30:06):
But they've got the momentum. You know, you're on that
side of the field. You don't really kick much anyway,
So why not.

Speaker 5 (30:13):
Two receivers near side, single to the fire side on
fourth and two handoff. No, they're going to pirate fire
the quick pass across the middle and it is in
complete into the belly of Reed Kaizamore. Connor Lambert as
soon as the ball arrived, jumped on his back, reached around,
punched it out and it is a turnover on downs.

Speaker 6 (30:32):
Well, you talk about Connor Lambert and his offensive capabilities,
very very good defensive defensive defensive back as well. He
had six interceptions on the season, return three of those
four touchdowns, So not exactly the personal defense.

Speaker 7 (30:44):
You want to test too much.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Sixty one yards away.

Speaker 5 (30:49):
Wuhammad takes over first down in ten eight point fifty
to go in the opening quarter. Simpkins the quarterback out
of the pistol, direct snap to him.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
Here he goes off on the run. The ball came loose.
The ball came loose, and I think Wohamma fell on
it again. That is twice.

Speaker 5 (31:04):
Quarterback Tray Simpkins of Wohama has had the luck of
the football gods with him because he has had the
ball pop out and he has fallen on it. He
gets one yard on the carry up to the forty
Don't want to test those waters too often.

Speaker 6 (31:18):
Two plays, two lucky bounces. Eventually that's going to turn
the other direction. So you got to have that bass security,
especially in these conditions.

Speaker 5 (31:25):
Clock rolls in the first quarter eight fifteen to go,
eight to six, Wahama leads.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
They have the football.

Speaker 5 (31:30):
Here is the direct snap and the sweep in to
Connor Lambert. He is grabbed up high and slung down.
He'll get to the forty five yard line. It's about
a five yard pickup. Make it third down and four
for the White Falcons of Wohama, undefeated number three team
in class single age taking on undefeated number two Tucker County.

(31:55):
Glad to be along with you are coverage presented by
Matiki Cole. Third down and four Simpkins out of the
pistol with the double wing. Two receivers to the near side.
Hard snap count. Now they look over all the skilled players,
look at their wristband. They've got the play. Simpkins comes
in motion, they will hand it off to him. Coming
to the near side, breaks a tackle. He's got the

(32:16):
first down as he gets across the fifty yard line
and slides out of bands on the snow and the
mud here on the near side, which is where Juhama's
bench is. But he will get the first down at
the Tucker County waiting on the official spot.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
I think it's going to be the forty eight.

Speaker 6 (32:32):
It is, yeah, and a good job of that Tucker
County offense. They were able to kind of string him
out to the sidelines. He's that sideline as a twelfth defender,
so that Lambert didn't break a big game there.

Speaker 5 (32:43):
Single receiver comes to the near side, that is Hayden Lloyd.
A single receiver to the far side, Lambert in the
backfield on first and ten, snap comes back. Lambert in
trouble in the backfield, reversus field, cannot get away from
the defender.

Speaker 3 (32:58):
He'll get a couple of yarnge market.

Speaker 5 (33:00):
Phillips there to bring him down at about the forty seven.
It's a one yard game.

Speaker 6 (33:04):
It's a great play with Marky Phillips. He was in
the backfield, had his eyes on seven the entire time.
Wouldn't let him out of his grasp.

Speaker 5 (33:11):
Seven minutes to go in the first quarter, eight to six,
Wahama leagus Tucker County. Both teams scoring on their opening drives.
Tucker County turnover on downs. Now Wahama's got it. Second
and nine with four wide receivers. Simpkins takes the direct snap.
He's gonna run it. He's in trouble now. He gets
out of a tackle, He's got the first down, keeps
his legs driving and he will push his way down

(33:33):
close to the thirty five yard line of Tucker County.
Tucker County's defense had him in the backfield. He reversed
direction and with the field conditions Tucker County could not adjust.
They bring him down at the thirty six it's an
eleven yard pickup in a first down.

Speaker 6 (33:48):
It's a great play by Simpkins that time, and the
one thing you saw was bass security.

Speaker 7 (33:51):
He made sure he took that thing away.

Speaker 5 (33:53):
First down and ten. This time it is a handoff
running hard off the left side is deal on the fields.
Where's number five on that white jersey? And I use
the term weight jersey loosely in these field conditions. But
he will get down to about the thirty one yard
line to give him five.

Speaker 6 (34:16):
Yeah, they have weapons all over the field. It's not
just one dimensional. You're gonna see some guys. Make please
for the guys in waiting.

Speaker 5 (34:22):
Red snap comes back. It is a deep handoff, this
time to Connor Lambert. He is hit and brought down again.
Marky Phillips waiting on him as he will get across
the thirty to maybe the twenty nine yard line. Again,
we kind of got to wait on the official spot
just to kind of see where that ball is gonna go.
They are in the muddiest part of the field. It

(34:42):
is the twenty nine. It is a two yard pickup,
brings up third down and a long three call at
four at the twenty nine yard line of Chucker County Mohamma.
With the football moving right to left, single receiver either way.
Connor Lambert is the winging on the right, direct snap
to Tray Simpkins, the quarterback, pushing his way ahead, trying

(35:03):
to get the first down. He's close and from the
spot of the ball, he's got it at the twenty
five at yard line, needed to get to the twenty six.

Speaker 7 (35:14):
It's a good gain of four there by the quarterback.

Speaker 6 (35:16):
And what you're seeing Tucker County do now that he's
fumbled twice, you're seeing them attack the football when he
goes through the line.

Speaker 7 (35:21):
But the thing is you also have to wrap up
and secure the tackle.

Speaker 5 (35:25):
He's at the twenty four yard line. He needed four,
he got five first and ten. Simpkins the quarterback, fakes
the hand o he gives it to Connor Lambert. Connor
Lambert's caught in the backfield and he is brought down.
Jared Reel, his offensive counterpart waiting on him, brings him down.

(35:47):
He either got no gain or he may.

Speaker 3 (35:48):
Have actually lost about a half a yard.

Speaker 7 (35:50):
That's gonna say. It look like he lost maybe a
half a yard there now, Jack.

Speaker 5 (35:53):
We're gonna say no gain spot him at the twenty
four yard line. Second and ten.

Speaker 6 (36:00):
You can see a lot of his game with a
lot of cutbacks, and that's going to be difficult on
this field.

Speaker 5 (36:04):
Lambert comes in motion, they handed off the fields on
the misdirection.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
He is hit.

Speaker 5 (36:09):
A flag is coming in. That may be a face
mask against Tucker County. We'll have to see. It looked
like one of the defenders and we don't identify players
on penalties, but it looks like one of the hands
came in up high. There were about four mountain lions
in there on the tackle on fields. Who is kind

(36:30):
of change of paceback? It is indeed a face mask,
so incidental face mask five yards from the end of
the run, but that will move the ball down to
the fifteen yard line. So he got five on the
carry or four on the carry, and then they give

(36:52):
him five more second down and about a yard Simpkins,
the quarterback takes the snap, looking for a whole looking
for somewhere to go try to get the first down.

Speaker 3 (37:02):
He is picked up and slammed the turf by Garrett
will Fong.

Speaker 7 (37:07):
Oh my, Garrett will Fong was having absolutely none of that.

Speaker 6 (37:10):
He made sure he made his impression and introduced himself
quickly to simptance.

Speaker 3 (37:14):
How are you there? My name is Garrett will Fong.

Speaker 5 (37:18):
All right, now they he got inside of the fifteen,
close to the fourteen, so they are gonna have to
measure this. We do have an officials time out and
there we go. We'll back that down just a little bit.

Speaker 7 (37:31):
Got to.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
Say we were a little hot, so we had to
back that down. They're gonna measure this hot.

Speaker 7 (37:38):
I think he got it. Did you say hot?

Speaker 3 (37:40):
Well, not hot, but are volume you know? Yeah, we're
definitely not hot.

Speaker 5 (37:44):
All right, they come out, they measure it and they
are about.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
Gosh two three inches short. I mean it's close.

Speaker 6 (37:53):
Literally, I would say you're probably looking for a quarterback
sneaker for your Wuhama.

Speaker 7 (37:57):
They do have a very big up offensive front.

Speaker 5 (38:01):
Third down and very short to go, less than a
yard at the fourteen yard line. Wohama leads eight to
six under four minutes to go. Opening quarter, Wohama with
the football, Connor Lambert handoff, jumps over a tackler, pushes
his way ahead. He's inside of the five. He's at

(38:23):
the five, where it'll be first in goal for Wahama.
A nine yard run for Connor Lambert's not about option.

Speaker 7 (38:31):
If your Wohama need in one yard right for.

Speaker 5 (38:33):
The White falcon.

Speaker 6 (38:36):
And again I'll kind of surprise that a lot of
these teams on third or fourth and short, we'll go
from the gun.

Speaker 7 (38:43):
We're just the old school. Lease tell him.

Speaker 5 (38:46):
So here we go first and goal, handoff Connor Lambert.
He dives ahead. He is not gonna get into the
end zone, but he is gonna be looks like about
the three to give him two yards on the pickup
where it'll be second and at gold.

Speaker 6 (39:08):
Comes a big stop here for Tucker County. Last thing
you want to do is let Mohamma get into the
end zoning once again.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
Well you know, I mean the thing is with Wahamma.

Speaker 5 (39:17):
If you go back and look at their season, look
at their record, they have an explosive offense.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
This is the fifteenth play of this drive.

Speaker 5 (39:27):
Simpkins lines up as a wide receiver. They put a
running back in at quarterback that is Wyat Harris.

Speaker 3 (39:34):
He takes the direct snap and.

Speaker 5 (39:36):
He is in the end zone for the touchdown. What
a good play call there by Wahama. They line Simpkins
up at the wing, brought in Wyatt Harris.

Speaker 7 (39:55):
Yeah, and again he takes it. We talked about the weapons.
I saw them do this in pre game.

Speaker 6 (39:58):
They alternading to quarterback and you kind of seen you
see a couple of packages they have for him.

Speaker 5 (40:03):
Right, there's a perfect example on a score. Now, here's
the two point conversion. Connor Lambert takes the snap. He
is in the end zone. So Wahama jumps out to
a ten point lead. Here and the opening quarter and
parsons it is sixteen to six, Wahama leading at Tucker County.

(40:24):
We will be back in thirty seconds. On ninety four
point seven, w Elk.

Speaker 11 (41:06):
W elk.

Speaker 7 (41:10):
And welcome back to semi final football.

Speaker 6 (41:13):
Here from Parsons where White Harris gets a three yard
touchdown run on a sixteen play sixty one yard, five
minute and fifty five second drive to give Muhamma a
sixteenth to six.

Speaker 7 (41:24):
Lead after the Connor Lambert two point conversion. Is good.

Speaker 3 (41:28):
Yeah, I'm gonna had four seconds. That of my handwriting
is terrible.

Speaker 5 (41:31):
Sorry, five point fifty nine, but it's all look for
four seconds. What do we know here is the kickoff.
It is fielded by Lucas Barb and he runs ahead.
He gets across the thirty yard line on his own
side of the field, brought down about the thirty one
maybe thirty two. And that's where we are with two
forty four to go here.

Speaker 3 (41:51):
And the opening quarter.

Speaker 5 (41:53):
We had some significant snow here in the area earlier
in the week. They have cleared the hashmarks and the
yard lines and everything else is snow covered that it
is indeed balls on the thirty five yard line to
forty four to go in the opening quarter, Tucker County

(42:16):
trails by ten. They have the football handoff. Jared Reel
looks to bounce it outside looking for running room.

Speaker 3 (42:22):
He's got a little bit of running room.

Speaker 5 (42:24):
As he gets ahead close to the first down marker
before he is ridden out of bounds across the forty
and looks like they'll shove him out of bounds at
about maybe the forty three as we wait on the
official spot again, so hard to tell. When they get
on the other side of the field and put him
at the forty four, it's a nine yard run.

Speaker 7 (42:47):
The good he has some good holes on that left side.

Speaker 5 (42:51):
I think this is the first time Tucker County has
trailed all season.

Speaker 7 (42:54):
Isn't that amazing?

Speaker 5 (42:56):
Three receivers to the near side, single to the far
side comes back for Tucker County first and ten quick pass.
Red Kaisimore catches it at the fifty, bounces it outside
forty thirty five thirty of Wahama and then he has
pushed out of bounds just shy of a twenty five
yard line.

Speaker 3 (43:11):
It was a bullet pass.

Speaker 5 (43:13):
Red Kaizamar came out of the seam and jumped across,
caught it in the middle, and he's got the first
down inside of Ohama territory. And we've got a Wahamer
injury on the field. Cannot tell. It looks like a
knee injury player is working his way up. That's Richard
Jordan to the defensive back as the training staff makes

(43:36):
their way over to check on him. We do have
an injury time out on the field again, injured player
for Wohama. Thanks for joining us here. Tucker County Mountain

Visit Drink Dashmilk dot com. So a big play prior
to the injury, Jordan is up under his own power
and the ball is at the twenty six yard line
of Wahama.

Speaker 6 (44:38):
Well, that's a big play for Tucker County because you
don't want to become one dimensional in it and rely
on Jared real the entire game.

Speaker 7 (44:44):
You're going to have to get this Muhammad defense on
her toes. Thank you.

Speaker 5 (44:48):
Monston got a thirty yard pass and catch first down
and ten for Tucker County to twenty to go. Opening quarter.

Speaker 3 (44:56):
They trail by ten.

Speaker 5 (44:57):
They have it first and ten at the twenty six
yard one of the White Falcons. Snap comes back play action.
Marks wants to pass in and out of the hands
of Barb. Barb looking to run and the ball just
falls through his hands. He turned his head at about
the time the ball got there and it is incomplete.

Speaker 7 (45:16):
That is exactly right, boy.

Speaker 6 (45:17):
He had all kinds of space, had all kinds of
room to work with, and just took his eyes off
the ball as he was trying to turn up field.
Big play now becomes second ten.

Speaker 5 (45:28):
Ball on the twenty six yard line far side Hashmark
Tucker County moving left to right here in the first quarter,
snap comes back to laid hand off to Jared Reel
and he is going to be hit for a loss.

Speaker 3 (45:41):
One, two, three, four five.

Speaker 5 (45:44):
Muhama White Falcons in there to bring Jared Reel down
for about a one yard loss.

Speaker 3 (45:49):
To the twenty seven.

Speaker 7 (45:50):
Yeah, over twenty seven.

Speaker 6 (45:51):
Carson Bennett was the first one there leading the charge
for that defense.

Speaker 5 (45:55):
Well, it looked like they're they had trouble with the
handoff exchange marks put it into the belly of Reel
and it was almost like he had the RPO and
he made the decision a little late and it slowed
him up. So now here we go fourth and eleven
for Tucker County. Marx takes the snap, rolls to the right,
comes back to the near side. Jared Reel on the

(46:17):
screen makes the catch, pushing his way down the far
sideline still on his feet, and is finally slammed out
of bounds at about the ten yard line. Nice play
call by aj Rapp and his offensive staff, and Tucker
County now looks at a first down at the Wahama
ten yard line.

Speaker 6 (46:35):
That was a beautiful player. They had the entire Wahama
defense going to its right. They throw back to the
left to hit real wide open and when he gets
the ball in space, good things are usually going to happen.

Speaker 5 (46:48):
Actually, we're going to officially call it the eleven yard line,
so it does go down as a sixteen yard pass
and catch. Tucker County first and ten from the eleven
yard line. Hand off Jared Reel tried to bounce it
to the right, nothing there. Went to the left, not
much there either, and he'll get a yard to the
ten yard line.

Speaker 6 (47:08):
That's how the defensive front of Oama shot the gaps
and contained that.

Speaker 5 (47:14):
The clock rolling approaching a minute to go in the
opening quarter at sixteen to six, Wohama leading Chucker County
first or second down and a long nine to almost
ten from the eleven yard line, snap comes back.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
Marx wants to throw it, rolls to the right, fires
the pass. Will Fong catches it.

Speaker 5 (47:38):
At the five and he is slammed down inside of
the five at about the three. Nice job there by
Garrett Wilfong seven yards on the pickup. It'll now be
third down and short, and keep in mind, Tucker County
can get a first down at the one yard line.

Speaker 7 (47:58):
This has gotta be huge for coach aj Raft.

Speaker 6 (48:00):
Marx is starting to build some confidence with his arm,
making some great plays.

Speaker 5 (48:06):
Third and two at the Wohama three yard line, ball
on the near side, hash mark nine seconds to go.
On a running first quarter clock stick eye formation handoff
Samuel Marx quarterback sneak Wuhamma was waiting on that they
will bring him down. He didn't get much on the play.
We'll have to get the spot and reset it when

(48:28):
we come back because that is the end of the
first quarter. Wohama sixteen Tucker County six for a chance
to go to the Single A Championship next weekend. We'll
be back to Parsons in sixty seconds on ninety four
point seven tiped Elk.

Speaker 5 (50:02):
So they did measure it, and Tucker County is about
a yard, not even a yard, about a foot short
of the first down. So as we return to action,
Tucker County switches ends of the field. They are now
moving right to left toward Kingwood.

Speaker 7 (50:20):
There you go, yeah, good call.

Speaker 5 (50:22):
That's the direction they're going, headed toward Kingwood away from
the press box. Here the football field. For those of
you that don't know it. For Tucker County is behind
the Board of Education building in Parsons. The high school's
up on the hill like in Hambleton. Yes, so probably
a little call. I'm glad we're here, absolutely because it's there. Well,
last weekend here we had about an inch of snow.

Speaker 6 (50:42):
Up there, they had six right, Yeah, talk about almost heaven.
That's where the school is.

Speaker 3 (50:46):
That's exactly right.

Speaker 5 (50:47):
So it is fourth down, less than a yard at
the two yard line for Tucker County. They trail by ten.
They've got it at the Wahama two. Jared Real stands
to the right of Marx Marks. The quarterback takes the snap.

Speaker 3 (51:01):
He stopped initially.

Speaker 5 (51:02):
Now he comes back to the near side and I
don't think he got it.

Speaker 7 (51:06):
I don't either.

Speaker 11 (51:07):
Boy.

Speaker 6 (51:07):
What a great push for that defensive front for Wahama.
A good job there by Marks on a second effort,
but I think they stopped that, and they did.

Speaker 5 (51:15):
They did so for the second time in the ballgame.
Tucker County is stemied on downs. Now Wahama takes over
first down and ten at their own two yard line.

Speaker 6 (51:29):
What a big blow to that Mountain lionon offense, especially
with an opportunity to either get the first down or score.
Now you give the ball back to an offense that's
gotten hot.

Speaker 5 (51:40):
Faull on the far side, hash mark out of their
own two yard line. Snap comes back to Simpkins. He
hands it off, two fields fields, spins around, and he
will get a little bit out of the shadow of
his own goal line.

Speaker 3 (51:53):
Looks like maybe he got up to the five.

Speaker 5 (51:56):
Actually the four yard line is where they will officially
spot him down. It's two yards second down at about
eight from their own four yard line. Single receiver to
the far side, single to the nearer side, snap back
to Simpkins. They handed off to Connor Lambert, leaps over
a tackler, drives his way ahead. Five Tucker County Mountain

(52:20):
lives finally converge for a little meeting at Connor Lambert,
and he'll push his way ahead to the ten yard line.
It's a six yard pickup, third down and about two
Wohama plane quickly. Eleven minutes to go in the opening half,
sixteen to six, Wohama leading Tucker County. Simpkins has fields

(52:45):
to his left. Connor Lambert is the wing. Snap comes back.
They handed off the fields. He's got a nice hole
right up the middle and he will have the first
down across the ten as he gets ahead to about
the again, so difficult to find the yard markers with
the look what they've got there, it looks like what

(53:06):
about the eighteens? So an eight yard pickup, single receiver
to the near side. Wuhama moving here in the second
quarter they lead by ten. Their second turnover on downs
on defense. They're back on offense again. Simpkins as the snap,

(53:28):
he's gonna take it himself, looking for running room. He
is going to be hit and broad down once again.
Marky Phillips. Marky Phillips and Simpkins, the quarterback for Wohama
are becoming really fast friends here today.

Speaker 6 (53:40):
They are what a first half here from Markey Phillips
on that defensive front for the Mountain Lions.

Speaker 5 (53:49):
Second down and a long seven from the twenty one
yard line of Wahammad. They have the football moving left right,
leading by ten here in the second quarter, snap comes back,
pitch out to Conambert trying to.

Speaker 3 (54:00):
Get outside and Tucker County comes in and sneaks in
underneath him.

Speaker 5 (54:06):
Braxton George went low and took out the pins of
Connor Lambert and it is a loss.

Speaker 3 (54:13):
It'll be third down and about thirteen and that.

Speaker 7 (54:16):
Is a great defensive play.

Speaker 6 (54:18):
And you just now that he went low and on
a kid like Connor Martin, Connor Lambert Rother, you're gonna
have to attack those ankles and those lower legs to
get him on the ground. Great job by Tucker County.

Speaker 5 (54:28):
Five yard loss back to the sixteen yard line. Third
down and long snap comes back Simpkins under pressure looking
deep down the field and the pass overthrown. He had
a receiver down there that was Wyatt Harris and good
coverage with Braxton George on that ball overthrown Simpkins in

(54:50):
a little bit of.

Speaker 3 (54:51):
Pressure, had to throw it deep and it'll be punted.
Time for Wahama.

Speaker 6 (54:55):
On a great stand there by Tucker County as they're
going to get the ball back and should be in
a pretty decent field position once this punt is complete.

Speaker 5 (55:03):
Read Kaizamar two weeks ago had a punt return of
seventy yards for a touchdown. He stands at his own
forty five yard line. Connor Lambert is the punter, snap
comes back, pressures on, he gets the kick away. Kaisamar
on the catch at the Wahama forty eight yard line
and then he is slammed down as a flag comes
in at the point of the tackle.

Speaker 3 (55:24):
We'll have to wait and see.

Speaker 5 (55:26):
I would imagine this would go against Wahama because there
were no other Tucker County players in the vicinity.

Speaker 6 (55:32):
Right, it might be another incidental face mask. It's kind
of hard to see from here, but nonetheless, it's going
to help the guys on the home side.

Speaker 5 (55:41):
Nine oh six to go here in Parsons, it is
going to be a block in the back, excuse me,
against Tucker County. So they threw the flag where the
tackle was made. I'm assuming the penalty was about three
yeards because that was the closest Tucker County player.

Speaker 7 (55:56):
I was going to say.

Speaker 6 (55:56):
It had to have him far away from the player,
away from the play. Not sure why it was even
a block in the back.

Speaker 7 (56:01):
There, but.

Speaker 5 (56:02):
So that'll put the ball at the forty three yard
line Tucker County on their own side of the field.
Nine six to go here. In the opening half, Tucker
County trails by ten. They have the football play action.
Marx wants to throw it looking deep down the field,
going up Lucas Barb makes the catch at the Wahama.

Speaker 3 (56:26):
Thirty yard line.

Speaker 5 (56:28):
He stopped, turned around, pulled it down. It's a first
down for Tucker County.

Speaker 3 (56:33):
I'll tell you what. Marks is on fire right now.

Speaker 6 (56:36):
He is cold out here, but that young man is
slinging the football and with pinpoint accuracy.

Speaker 5 (56:42):
Brought him down at the twenty eight yard line.

Speaker 3 (56:48):
I'll let you do the math on that.

Speaker 7 (56:53):
It's a long pass twenty eight yards.

Speaker 5 (56:55):
Here you go, first down and ten two receivers stacked
up to the new two stacked up to the far side.
Ball on the far side, hash Mark first and ten
handoff Jared Reel. He's hit at the line of scrimmage,
but he does keep his legs driving. He will maybe
be granted a yard by the official. We'll have to
see where he was. His forward progress was stopped and

(57:19):
about a yard for Jared Reel put him at the
twenty seven actually twenty eight yard line. So it is
a one yard pickup.

Speaker 7 (57:29):
Yes, tell you what.

Speaker 6 (57:31):
If I'm Tucker County, I might just stay going to
the air right now, riding my quarterback.

Speaker 5 (57:35):
Four wide receivers in the pattern. Reel out of the pistol.
The ball snapped high. It is tipped by Samuel Mark
straight up in the air. Reel pulls it down, takes
off running with it. But it gave Mohamma time to
adjust and they will hit Jared Reel for about a
two yard laws. It'll be third and eleven at the thirty.

Speaker 6 (57:56):
Well, Tucker was definitely going to go to the air there,
just a high snap. Mars had a difficult time grabbing it.
Actually didn't grab it, kind of tapped it right into
the hands of Reel. He did everything he could just
to get back to close to the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 5 (58:10):
Kaizamoor the single receiver to the far side, that's the
short side of the field. Three receivers punched up tight
on the near side. Samuel Marx keep dropped, looks keep
down the field. He's got Garrett will Fong and he
food over his head. Oh my, Garrett will Fong had
gotten into the end zone. The Wahamma defender was late
getting there, and the ball just off the fingertips of
the big six foot four receiver for Tucker County.

Speaker 3 (58:33):
It's fourth down for the Mountain Lion.

Speaker 7 (58:35):
Yes, Samuel Mars probably wish he had that one back.

Speaker 6 (58:37):
That was I mean he had all the time in
the world in the pocket, just put a little too
much mustard on that one.

Speaker 5 (58:43):
Seven twenty two to go until halftime. Wahama sixteen Tucker
County six here in Parsons Class single a semifinal game.
The winner of this one next Friday at noon will
be at UC Stadium in ladley Field to take.

Speaker 3 (58:59):
On number four Cameron.

Speaker 5 (59:01):
Fourth down and eleven Samuel Mark snap drops back.

Speaker 3 (59:05):
They want the screen.

Speaker 5 (59:06):
It comes to Garrett will Fong, He makes the catch,
Wohama read it, Wahama waiting on him. Rahama brings them
down for a loss, back to about the thirty three
yard line. So Wohama had seen the screen, they were waiting,
and for the third time in a road Tucker County
turns the ball over on downs.

Speaker 6 (59:27):
Yeah, they're trying to go to that backsize screen to
try to get the Muhama offense within one way and
throw back across the field. Like you said, Mohamma's seen
that a couple of times before with Jared Real.

Speaker 7 (59:36):
This time they tried to run it with will Fong.
No go for Tucker.

Speaker 5 (59:42):
White Falcons take over at their own thirty three yard line.
Now moving left to right and before the snap, Wohama
wants to take a time out seven to twelve to
go here in the opening quarter Tucker County Mountain Lion
playoff football bronche by our friends at Matiki.

Speaker 3 (59:59):

(01:00:23):
score was in Quada. Martinsburg and Huntington were tied. Do
we have an update?

Speaker 6 (01:00:30):
How about Martinsburg thirty five Huntington thirty four in the
fourth quarter?

Speaker 3 (01:00:33):
Wow? What a game.

Speaker 5 (01:00:35):
Of course, you can get all the scores at wv
metronews dot com and of course next weekend on our

FMWD and E all four high school football Championships Championship

on Saturday. First down and ted snap back to Wahama.

(01:00:58):
Simpkins takes off on the quarterback run running off the
left side, and he will be hit and brought down.

Speaker 3 (01:01:04):
There's a lot of action, but he didn't get very far.

Speaker 6 (01:01:08):
A lot of window dressing, a very good job of
that defensive front by Tucker.

Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
Got about six to the thirty eight yard line.

Speaker 7 (01:01:17):
Looks like.

Speaker 3 (01:01:20):
Yeah, thirty, so it's five yard pickup. Excuse me for Simpkins.

Speaker 5 (01:01:24):
Second down and five Willhama plane quickly. Two receivers left
with a wing. They handed off. Connor Lambert running hard
off the left side. Chucker County meets him at the
thirty five and they will bring or the forty yard
line rather and they will bring him down after a
two yard pickup. Tell you what, Connor Lambert, He's taken
a beating here tonight, Chucker County. Other than that opening drive,

(01:01:48):
Tucker County has done a good job on the running
back for the White Falcons.

Speaker 6 (01:01:51):
Well, the beating he's taken is from number sixty Marky Phillips,
and that's exactly who made that stop again for the
Mountain Lions.

Speaker 7 (01:01:57):
What a first half of this young man.

Speaker 5 (01:02:00):
Third down at about two for Wahama, snap comes back Simpkins.
The quarterback keeps it himself, drives forward, eyed I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:02:06):
Think he got it.

Speaker 5 (01:02:08):
The far side official, the spot coming in looks like
he may have it. The near side official has he
marked back a little bit, so the official spot he
is short. He's at about the forty two and a
half call it forty.

Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
Three yard line.

Speaker 7 (01:02:25):
I think they're gonna call for a measurement here.

Speaker 5 (01:02:28):
It's a third time we've seen it from our vantage
point and I am literally standing at the fifty yard line.
They're just two hour left, and it looks to me
like he's a little short.

Speaker 3 (01:02:42):
What do you think.

Speaker 6 (01:02:42):
Yeah, by the near side official, I think he had
it right. He was a little short. Now the far
side official did come in. It looked like he was
right on the line, but he got it. They did
give it to him half the football. Wow, I was
with you there. I thought he was about a half
a football short there.

Speaker 5 (01:02:58):
The sun has almost complete gone down, got a little
bit on the top of the mountain, and it's getting cold.

Speaker 6 (01:03:05):
It is getting chili. I cannot throw my toes at
this moment. I've officially gone.

Speaker 3 (01:03:08):
Numb, comfortably numb, yes, not really.

Speaker 5 (01:03:13):
Six minutes to go in the second quarter, sixteen to six,
Wohama leading Tucker County. Wohama has it first and ten
hand off running hard. That's Harris and his feet went
out from under him just before he got to the
fifty yard line, so he will pick up about seven yards.
Let's see, they'll spot him at the forty nine, so

(01:03:34):
officially six yards. Make it second down and about four
three and a half four ball right in the middle
of the field. Wuhama moving left to right, and there
used to be white uniforms in the muddy field no longer.
Lambert goes in motion. They fake it to him. Simpkins

(01:03:55):
on the quarterback keep he's met at the fifty in
split him backwards. Is Tucker County defensive line is making
sure that people know they came to play.

Speaker 7 (01:04:08):
Well.

Speaker 3 (01:04:08):
That was a real hit by number thirty Jered Riel.

Speaker 5 (01:04:11):
He's tough on defense at the one yard gain to
the fifty. Third down and about two receivers either way
for Wahama. Lambert in the backfield with Simpoms the quarterback.
They handed off to Lambert running to the near side.
Care at will Fong brings him down waiting on him.
Got a whole lot of help from Gavin Nester, and

(01:04:35):
that's a one yard loss to the forty nine.

Speaker 3 (01:04:37):
Wohama has got a decision to make.

Speaker 5 (01:04:39):
They've got the ball with their own forty nine yard
line of fourth down and about three and a half
maybe four, and I think they're gonna punt it away.

Speaker 6 (01:04:47):
Looks like they're gonna go to punt formation. But what
a great job by this Tucker County defense to kind
of contain Connor Lambert here in the first half. I mean,
we talk about his explosiveness. Only eleven carries for sixty
three yards here so.

Speaker 5 (01:04:58):
Far, He's got over two thousand on the season. Snap
back to Lambert, he puts a high end, over end
kick in the air. It is gonna bounce at the twenty,
roll inside of the fifteen and hit the snow and
be stuck there at the fourteen. So Tucker County's defense
stands strong. They've got it first and ten at their

(01:05:18):
own fourteen yard line. Four minutes and two. It's seconds
to go until the break.

Speaker 6 (01:05:25):
Now, if you're Tucker, you have to be aware of
that clock. You're four minutes and two minutes it before halftime.
You gotta remember Muhamma gets the ball coming out of half.
So if you can put something together here in the
next four minutes. Put a dit in the score. You're
gonna fel a little better going in the halftime.

Speaker 5 (01:05:40):
First down in ten at their own fourteen yard line,
eighty six yards away from the end zone. Three receivers
to the far side, single to the near side, moving
right to left. Samuel Marx takes a snap, hands it
off to Jared Real. He's got the fifteen, he's got
the sixteen. That's all two yard on to carry. Neither

(01:06:01):
team having the success that they had on their opening drive.
Jared Real took the opening snap of the game for
seventy four yards a touchdown. Two plays later, then Connor
Lambert breaks off a forty one yard score, and since
then both run games had been kind of steimy.

Speaker 6 (01:06:20):
D Yeah, Jared Real outside of that ten carries for
twenty five yards outside of that seventy four initial run.

Speaker 5 (01:06:27):
There in the first quarter, second down and seven ball
on about the sixteen yard line, two receivers either way
marks the quarterback, drops back, looks, firing it deep down
the field, looking.

Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
For Garrett Willfong.

Speaker 5 (01:06:40):
Willfong throws his hands up in the air, wanting pass interference.
The coaching staff on the far side wanting pass interference.

Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
The official though does not agree.

Speaker 6 (01:06:51):
He did not agree, and I think that's a ball
that Garrett probably should have kept trying to track. He
threw his hands up early looking for the referee to
call the penalty, but I think had he kept running,
he may have been able to make a play on
the ball.

Speaker 5 (01:07:05):
Third down at about seven from their own seventeen yard line,
three twenty seven to go in the opening half, sixteen
to six, Wahama in the lead Tucker County with the football,
snap back to March. They handed off to Jared ree
or Reel running hard to the near side, and he
will not get to the twenty be a little bit
short and good sportsmanship. There is one of the Wahamma

(01:07:27):
defenders helps out.

Speaker 3 (01:07:33):
And helps Jared Reel up.

Speaker 5 (01:07:35):
He did get to the nineteen, so it is a
two yard pickup, but it will be fourth down and
about four from their own nineteen yard line. Will Fong
back to put it away to Connor Lambert.

Speaker 6 (01:07:52):
This could be dangerous for Tucker County if they put
this bonnywhere near him.

Speaker 5 (01:07:55):
Snap back to will Fong. He puts his foot into it,
a spinning kid. Lambert scoops it up Camp scoop it up,
lost it and then he just has to fall on
it at his own forty four yard line. So Wohama
takes over at their own forty four yard line. First
down and ten, two thirty eight to go in the

(01:08:16):
first half on what is now officially a cold Saturday afternoon.

Speaker 7 (01:08:22):
Look at the mountains. I mean it's so cold that
the mountains are red.

Speaker 5 (01:08:25):
Oh beautiful, and it's gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.

Speaker 3 (01:08:29):
Balls on the near side.

Speaker 5 (01:08:30):
Hashmark Quohama has it first and ten two receivers to
the left, Simpkins, the quarterback, has Lambert to his left,
direct snap back to Connor Lambert.

Speaker 3 (01:08:40):
Here he goes right up the middle.

Speaker 5 (01:08:41):
He gets the fifty and then he is brought down
at the forty nine yard line into Tucker County territory.
So about seven yards on the Kerry six and a
half seven we'll call it seven. It's second down and
a long four at the Tucker County forty nine line.

Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
Snap back, they hand it off. Harris running hard.

Speaker 5 (01:09:04):
He's got the first down and he'll get shoved backward,
but he does break the forty five.

Speaker 3 (01:09:10):
Looks like he's close to the.

Speaker 5 (01:09:11):
Forty four yard line again. Wyatt Harris on the carry
for the Falcons.

Speaker 7 (01:09:18):
And you're starting to see them go up tempo.

Speaker 6 (01:09:20):
Here they see the clock and if they can put
another six or seven on air points on the board
before halftime, gonna feel a lot better coming down the
second half.

Speaker 5 (01:09:28):
Wing on the near side is Connor Lambert in motion
snap back to Simpkins. He's gonna keep it on the
quarterback sweep, trying to get outside. Tucker County waiting on him.
Lucas Barb comes in and brings him down. Samuel Marx
helps him out, and it is going to be a
short game for the quarterback of Wuhama. One yard actually, yep,

(01:09:49):
one yard at about the forty three.

Speaker 6 (01:09:54):
Some good job without front of stringing that to the
sidelines so that the quarterback had nowhere to get upfield.

Speaker 5 (01:10:01):
Winter This one faces Cameron next Friday at noon in Charleston.
Here's Connor Lambert with the handoff, trying to get outside.
He's pinned along the sidelines and he will not get
out of bounds. They'll keep the clock roll and he's
inside of the forty. We're approaching a minute to go
in the first half. Wahamma with a sixteen to six lead.
They look at a third down and about four from

(01:10:25):
the thirty eight yard line, so that was about a
five yard pickup.

Speaker 3 (01:10:31):
Two receivers to.

Speaker 5 (01:10:32):
The near side, wing on the far side left Wahama
moving left to right. They send Connor Lambert in motion.
Simpkins wants to throw it, looking deep down the field.

Speaker 3 (01:10:42):
It is caught. What a catch. Wow. The ball is
pulled down.

Speaker 5 (01:10:48):
An amazing catch by Hayden Lloyd. Went up over the
defender with both hands and caught the past. It is
first down for Wahama at the twelve yard line of
Tucker County.

Speaker 7 (01:11:04):
Shout out to Randy Moss. That was a you got
most of them, but right there for.

Speaker 5 (01:11:08):
Absolutely reached over the defender and pulled it down twenty
six yards on the pass and catch first and ten
for Wahama. Snap back to Simpkin, starts left, come back
to the right. He'll get inside of the ten down
to about the nine to about a three yard pickup.
Blot continues to roll and finally Wohama wants to take

(01:11:28):
a time out. Let's go back to that catch, and
I tell you it was very impressive.

Speaker 3 (01:11:34):
Hayden Lloyd, the senior was.

Speaker 5 (01:11:36):
On the outside the ball a little bit underthrown, turned
and reached over the defender.

Speaker 6 (01:11:42):
Yeah, that was just a great play by the receiver
and what concentration to get up and high point that football.
We talked about it earlier with Garrett Wilfong and Cosimore.
How these guys can get up and high point to
football and kind of play basketball with it. That's exactly
what Wuhammad did and put themselves into a very very
good position with thirty three seconds to go inside the
red zone.

Speaker 5 (01:12:02):
Today's athletic event is not about winning at all costs,
disrespecting others, or criticizing the athletes, coaches, or officials. It's
about learning and growing, developing character and competing with class.

Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
Please keep it positive and bench bad behavior.

Speaker 5 (01:12:20):
Thirty three seconds to go until halftime. Here in Parsons
our coverage presented by our friends at Metiki Cole it
is second down and eight ball on about the nine
yard line for Wahama. They're on Tucker County's goal line. Really,

(01:12:41):
snap comes back, It's a direct snap to Connor. Lambert
bounces it outside, can't keep his feet as he is
brought down. Looks like maybe about the eight yard line.

Speaker 7 (01:12:53):
Yeah, I think you got me again. It to you.
Good job by Braxton George to track Lambert down.

Speaker 5 (01:12:59):
Third down and about six from the eight yard line
for Wahamas direct snap. It's Simpkins running hard and he
gets inside of the five clock, still rolling at five
seconds and there is the timeout, the final timeout. Why
Wahama and boy you know st strategy wise, let's talk

(01:13:22):
about this for your instrum minute Atmanuel. So right now,
Wohama's got a ten point lead. Tucker County doing a
good job stopping the run game, or at least slowing
it down. You can't really stop either team from running
the ball. You've got five seconds to go. Do you
risk a run or do you try to put the ball.

Speaker 3 (01:13:41):
In the air.

Speaker 7 (01:13:41):
No, I'm going to the end zone right here.

Speaker 6 (01:13:43):
The whole name of the game when this drive was
to try to get points on the boarder before halftime.
I say you have to go to the air, maybe
run a little flagger out something. It's got to be
in the end zone because you do not have time.
Actually you're out of timeout. So it's either now or
never for the Falcons.

Speaker 5 (01:13:57):
The other option is Wahama, I'm does have a kicker
the ball looks like it's spotted on about the five
yard line and they are dead center and they're right
in the middle of the field, so that would be
about a twenty two yarder.

Speaker 7 (01:14:14):
And it looks like you might, well, let's see what
they're gonna do here. No, they're gonna go.

Speaker 3 (01:14:20):
All right.

Speaker 5 (01:14:21):
So you've got Harris lined up to the left of
the quarterback. It's fourth down and two from the Tucker
County five yard line with five seconds to go until halftime.
Tucker County wanted to see what they were going to do,
and we got another time out. Let's step away. We'll
be back two Parsons in thirty seconds. On ninety four

Speaker 3 (01:15:41):
So here we go. Five seconds to go on till halftime.

Speaker 5 (01:15:46):
Wohama has it fourth down and short snap comes back
to Simpkins.

Speaker 3 (01:15:51):
Simpkins looks, fires the pass.

Speaker 5 (01:15:53):
It is knocked down a diving slap down to the
football by Carrott will Fong. He used that lanky six
foot four frame to bring it down and it a
turnover on downs. Tucker County's defense stands strong.

Speaker 7 (01:16:08):
What a play by Garrett will Fong.

Speaker 6 (01:16:10):
We saw him do that a couple of weeks ago
in almost in the exact same spot in the end
zone and either he gets his hands on it or he's.

Speaker 7 (01:16:16):
Going to distract the receivers.

Speaker 6 (01:16:18):
And just to make sure it catches it made and

Speaker 5 (01:16:25):

here they have it at their own five and it
is a snap, and that takes us to halftime. This
we knew would be one of the best games of

(01:16:45):
the weekend, and so far it has lived up to
the billing. What a phenomenal game. We're glad you're along here.
On ninety four point seven, w elk, we are at
halftime Wahama, the number three team in Class Single A

of the playoffs Bronchi by Mckeekee Coles.

Speaker 3 (01:19:06):
So it has been.

Speaker 5 (01:19:09):
It started out and I swear I thought this game
was gonna end up being like sixty five.

Speaker 3 (01:19:16):
To sixty three the way we started.

Speaker 5 (01:19:19):
Tucker County took the opening drive first play of the game,
seventy four yard run by Jared Real.

Speaker 3 (01:19:24):
They punch it in a couple of plays later to
take the.

Speaker 5 (01:19:26):
Lead, then they kick it off to Uhama two plays
a forty.

Speaker 3 (01:19:30):
One yard run by Connor Lambert, and.

Speaker 5 (01:19:34):
Then Tucker County's offense kind of stalled out a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:19:38):
I think after that initial score right.

Speaker 7 (01:19:40):
Absolutely, and you talked about it.

Speaker 6 (01:19:41):
We thought it was gonna be explosive there based on
the first two plays of the game, but you have
to remember, these two teams have never faced each other.

Speaker 7 (01:19:48):
The other thing they've seen is some film. That's it.

Speaker 6 (01:19:51):
So that first quarter was kind of a feeling out process,
and then once the game started to work its way
later in the first quarter into the second quarter, both
teams started to get that feel trying to figure out, now, okay,
now it's a chess match.

Speaker 7 (01:20:03):
Where do we take our advantages from.

Speaker 6 (01:20:05):
And right now you see Wuhama with a ten point lead, because,
like you talked about earlier, sixteen plate drive was huge. Yeah,
eight up a lot of clock as well, So Tucker
County's gonna have to figure that out in the second
half to get some more possessions and put some more
points on the board.

Speaker 5 (01:20:18):
Now, one thing we can talk about and we'll get
into the statistics a little bit later. We knew coming
into the game that the running back for Wuhama, Connor Lambert,
was explosive. We knew he was explosive. He's got over
two thousand yards on the season and he's and you know,
on the other side, you've got Jared Reel who's got
almost two thousand yards. The difference being Connor Lambert has

(01:20:41):
one hundred less carries than Jared Reel on.

Speaker 3 (01:20:44):
The season, So we knew he was explosive.

Speaker 5 (01:20:46):
That being said, I think this Tucker County defense has
done a phenomenal job at kind of containing him.

Speaker 7 (01:20:53):
They've done a great job. You talked about it.

Speaker 6 (01:20:54):
He comes in, you know, over two thousand yards. He's
literally had one hundred and nine carries.

Speaker 7 (01:20:58):
That's it.

Speaker 6 (01:20:59):
So Lambert comes in averaging about eighteen point eight yards
per carry anytime he touched the football today, Tucker County
has done a fabulous job of containing him, and you've
kind of seen Muhamma go away for him, more or
less use him as a decoy to get some other
guys going in hopes that you can get Lambert into the.

Speaker 7 (01:21:14):
Flow, you know.

Speaker 6 (01:21:16):
But so far Tucker County has lived up to the
challenge and they've shut him down here in the first half.

Speaker 5 (01:21:21):
Indeed, now you talk about this Tucker County offense, we
knew Jered real obviously, we've seen him throughout the season,
very explosive.

Speaker 3 (01:21:28):
Mohamma doing a good job containing him.

Speaker 5 (01:21:30):
But you got to give a lot of credit to
this coaching staff with aj Ramp and his offensive staff,
because they've gone more to a passing attack, which you
wouldn't expect on this playing surface, but they have had
some success with it.

Speaker 7 (01:21:44):
That is complete trust in your quarterback.

Speaker 6 (01:21:46):
You know, Marx is a first year starter, didn't play
football last year, and to be in this moment, semifinals
with a chance to go to the championship game and
you basically are riding the arm of your quarterback at
this stage says a lot about your belief in your quarterback.

Speaker 7 (01:21:57):
And so far Marx has lived up to it.

Speaker 6 (01:21:59):
He'd some outstanding passes and he's had very good control
of the offense.

Speaker 5 (01:22:03):
It has been a phenomenal first half. Again, we'll get
into the statistics coming up in just a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:22:09):
What we're gonna do here in.

Speaker 5 (01:22:11):
Our halftime show is take a break. When we come

Speaker 5 (01:22:31):

The Tucker County Mountain Lions are in the playoffs and
we've got the coverage on ninety four point seven.

Speaker 6 (01:24:34):
Welk and welcome back to a snowy, cold chilli you
name it, kind of a night here in Parsons, West
Virginia again right now. The White Falcons of Wahama lead
the Mountain Lions of Tucker County sixteen to six. Here
at the half, and while we have a brief moment,
what we'll do is go over some of the Metro

(01:24:55):
News High School scoreboard playoff games that have taken place,
and we will start in Quad A. So it was
a Quad A matchup between number one Martinsburg and number
five Huntington that was over in the Panhandle. Martinsburg escapes
with a one point thirty five to thirty four win
over Huntington to advance the next week's championship game.

Speaker 7 (01:25:18):
Who will they face?

Speaker 6 (01:25:19):
Well, that was a matchup between number two spring Mills
and number six Hurricane. It was spring Mills all over
Hurricane and that was a final score of forty nine
to seven. So in your Quad A matchup for next week,
it'll be number one versus number two, which was an
outstanding game earlier in the season as Martinsburg pulled off
a five point victory over spring Mills. So you will

(01:25:41):
get the rematch of your number one and number two
teams in Quad A. When you look at the TRIPAA ranks,
last it was a number four Herbert Hoover at number
one Princeton.

Speaker 7 (01:25:53):
That game was played last night.

Speaker 6 (01:25:56):
The Huskies of Hoover pulled off the upset as they
defeat Princeton thirty five to twelve to move on to
the Triple A State Championship game and they will face
the Indians of Bridgeport who went on the road to
Fairmont Senior for the second time this year got a
big win over the Polar Bears as the final score
there for Tyler Ferris and as Bridgeport Indians was thirty

(01:26:17):
six to seven. When you roll over to the Double
A ranks, it was number one Frankfurt hosting number four
to Williamstown. Frankfort with a huge home win and that
was a score of forty nine to seven, and that
will put them into the Double A Championship game next
week as they will face the Raiders of Rome County
and Rome County number two hosted number three Independence Ron

(01:26:41):
County got the big win forty two to seven. So
just to recap your next week's championships in off four levels,
you will have Martinsburg versus Spring Mills, which is that
one in two.

Speaker 7 (01:26:54):
Matchup.

Speaker 6 (01:26:54):
There, you'll have Herbert Hoover versus the Indians. You'll see
Frankfort and Ron County. And we're still working on the
Single A ranks as we still have one half to
go here from Parsons, but they will play Cameron, who
was number four on the road against number one Tug Valley.
That was the score last night of thirty six to
nothing for Cameron. So again, the winner of this game

(01:27:16):
will face Cameron in the Single A Championship game next Friday.
And when we look at some of the college scores
around the wonderful nation, we will have actually right now,
we have Texas who is up on Georgia.

Speaker 7 (01:27:33):
That's six to nothing. That's in the second quarter.

Speaker 6 (01:27:36):
Later on you will see number one Oregon hosting Penn State,
and that'll be for the Big Ten Championship, Oregon trying
to win its first Big team championship and also get
themselves locked into that number one seed in the College playoffs.
That game being played at five pm. Later on this
evening on ABC, you will have number seventeen Clemson and

(01:27:58):
number eight SMU. SMU, you a newcomer to the ACC Conference.
That'll be for the championship that's going to be played
at five PM as well. Earlier today in the Big
Twelve Championship, you had the normal foe in Iowa State
taking on the new comer in the conference, which was
Arizona State the sun Devils with a big, big win

(01:28:18):
forty five to nineteen as they try to ensure their
hopes of getting into the college playoffs and representing the
Big twelve. On Friday, you had Boise State out there
on the smurf turf as we call it, with a
big twenty one to seven win over number twenty UNLV
That was for the Mountain West Championship. And then you

(01:28:40):
have the Army midshipman who pulled off a big victory
in the American Athletic Conference Championship over Tulane. That was
the score of thirty five to fourteen. So conference championship
games going on in college championship games going on in
high school. A great high school football and college football weekend.

Speaker 7 (01:29:02):
Stay warm out there, and we'll be right back.

so that game should be a little warmer than what
we're looking at right now. You'll also have the Falcons

and the Vikings and that'll be in Minnesota. The Saints
will take on the Giants of New York. You'll have
the Panthers and Eagles, who will tangle the Browns and Steelers.
That'll be a big matchup in the AFC North as
the Steelers try to prevent a sweep by the Browns
on the season, which hasn't been done in quite some years. Also,

(01:31:31):
you'll see the Raiders taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
You've got the Seattle Seahawks at the Arizona Cardinals. The
Buffalo Bills will be on the road out to the
West Coast, says they will take on the La Rams.
You've got the Bears and the forty nine Ers, which
will be on Fox, and you've also got the Chargers
and the Chiefs and a big AFC battle, and then

(01:31:53):
of course on Monday night you'll have the Bengals and
the Cowboys. So that's just a rundown of your NFL
weekend as we get in to another week late in.

Speaker 7 (01:32:02):
The season for the professionals as well. And Greg, I'll
tell you what it's cool.

Speaker 5 (01:32:09):
It has it has gotten considerably colder. When we got
here probably around two o'clock this afternoon, sun was out.
It was about thirty five. It dropped down to thirty one.
We're down in the twenties right now, so it is
definitely a little chilly, but you know what, it's playoff football.

Above us, good crowd on hand.

Speaker 5 (01:33:08):
Again, can't say enough, not only about the support that
the Mountain Lions get. I think pretty much two cities
in this state are shut down right now, Parsons and Wahamma.

Speaker 7 (01:33:20):
I think you're right, Yeah, I think you're right.

Speaker 3 (01:33:22):
You know, I've had a lot of people say where
is Wahama?

Speaker 5 (01:33:26):
And again we talked about it a little bit earlier,
but I guess the easiest way to say is probably
about a half an hour a little bit more south
of Parkersburg, right across the river from Pomeroy, Ohio.

Speaker 3 (01:33:40):
And so it's about.

Speaker 5 (01:33:42):
Four hours from here, long trip, and Wahamma sure would
enjoy that drive a whole lot more if they're on
the winning side. Tucker County may have something to say
about it.

Speaker 13 (01:33:52):
Though.

Speaker 3 (01:33:53):
It's sixteen to six.

Speaker 5 (01:33:55):

Speaker 3 (01:37:48):
Some some teams didn't make the playoffs. I've mentioned any names, Manuel, but.

Speaker 7 (01:37:56):
Horrible season.

Speaker 5 (01:37:57):
Well I have to be good because you know, you
didn't make the playoffs in our league.

Speaker 3 (01:38:02):
Nor did my wife. Oh yeah, be careful, yes, so
uh but.

Speaker 5 (01:38:07):
You know she's, uh yeah, I'm gonna be good because
I on the other hand, and Mike Depascal got the
first round by baby of course, going into the playoffs,
Mike's yeah, in the championship game, that's the hope. But
will see how that goes. Of course, we've got college football,
the West Virginia Mountaineers waiting on the.

Speaker 3 (01:38:27):
New head coach.

Speaker 5 (01:38:27):
A lot of speculation about you know, Rich Rodriguez, but
he released a statement yesterday saying he had not been contacted.

About the job. So do me a favor.

Listeners, my friends don't pay any attention to social media.

Speaker 5 (01:38:50):
When Rin Baker steps behind the lectern on the podium
and says, I have I have hired our new head
coach and here or who is it? That's when you
will know. Other than that, you're gonna hear jimbo Fisher.
You're gonna hear Chadway from Liberty. You're gonna hear the
guy from Toledo. You're gonna hear Tony Gibson. You're gonna
hear Penn State's offensive coordinator. You're gonna, I mean, the

people whose names are floating or I wouldn't be surprised
if your.

Speaker 3 (01:39:18):
Name shows up on social media.

Speaker 7 (01:39:20):
If it does that, that'll be spectacular.

Speaker 3 (01:39:22):
Would you take it?

Speaker 7 (01:39:24):
No, No, I would not.

Speaker 3 (01:39:28):
I don't have it's pretty nice paycheck. I mean you
think it well.

Speaker 5 (01:39:31):
Now, the speculation is Neil Brown's gonna end up at
Appalachian State, but he's walking away with a fairly healthy paycheck.

Speaker 7 (01:39:41):
You walk away with nine points So was it nine
point nine or yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:39:44):
Almost ten million?

Speaker 7 (01:39:46):
Work to not work? Can I have that? Get you
know what? On second thought, yes, hire me?

Speaker 3 (01:39:51):
Yeah, hire me. You'll have one bad season, you'll get fired,
and they'll pay you ten million.

Speaker 6 (01:39:55):
Yeah, yeah, so I retract my statement. I will absolutely
take that position.

Speaker 5 (01:39:59):
But West Virginia you did get into a bowl game.
They will take on number twenty five Memphis on December
the seventeenth.

Speaker 3 (01:40:08):
In the Frisco Bowl. And I will admit it.

Speaker 5 (01:40:11):
I honestly thought the Frisco Bowl was in San Francisco.

Speaker 7 (01:40:15):
It would make sense, wouldn't it.

Speaker 3 (01:40:16):
It would, But it's not.

Speaker 5 (01:40:17):
It's in Frisco, Texas, Texas. It's right outside of Dallas.
I've not been there. I have been to the Doobie
Brothers song China Grove. There is a town called China
Grove just a little bit south of San Antonio.

Speaker 3 (01:40:29):

Speaker 3 (01:40:49):
We're ready to go.

Speaker 5 (01:40:50):
Wuhama won the toss. They deferred their option to the
second half. Here is the kickoff. Wohama will get the football.
It is going to be scooped up at six yard
line by Connor Lambert comes to the near side and
his feet go out from under him at the ten
yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:41:06):
He was expecting it to roll into the end zone.
It did not.

Speaker 5 (01:41:11):
He had to scoop it up at the five, takes
it to the ten, tries to reverse direction, and now
Wohamma starts out first and ten at their own ten
yard line. We'll check stats here in just a minute.
From the first half the White Falcons and excuse me,

(01:41:32):
they are at the fifteen, not the ten. My apologies.
Hard to tell. First down and ten. It is Connor
Lambert on the hand off from the fifteen. He rushes
his way ahead across the twenty to about the twenty
four yard line, so a nine yard pickup.

Speaker 3 (01:41:52):
Muhamma playing quickly. Second down and about a yard just
shy of the nineteen keen yard line.

Speaker 5 (01:42:02):
Simpkins the quarterback for Wahama. They move left or right
here in the second half. They bring Lambert off the wing,
make him a slot receiver, direct snap to Simpkins. Quarterback
takes it. He's got the first down and more. Off
he goes, and he will be brought down close to
the forty yard line. A big run by quarterback Trace
Simpkins of Wahama and the White Falcons got something going

(01:42:25):
on offense here in the third quarter.

Speaker 7 (01:42:29):
Well, I'm it's gonna start up front.

Speaker 6 (01:42:30):
I mean, they have to be very very happy with
the fact that Connor Lambert hasn't done much here in
the first half.

Speaker 7 (01:42:35):
We get they're still up ten.

Speaker 5 (01:42:36):
Fifteen yards on the carry first down and ten at
their own thirty nine. Connor Lambert takes the hand out,
bounces it outside forty five, drives his way ahead tackle
down right at the fifty yard line, just to cross
the fifty maybe into Tucker County territory.

Speaker 3 (01:42:51):
It is enough for the first down.

Speaker 6 (01:42:55):
And man, you see when he can turn that corner
and actually has his footing and he gets the jets.

Speaker 7 (01:43:00):
Boy, he's fast.

Speaker 5 (01:43:02):
Thirteen yards on the carry to the forty eight yard
line of Tucker County, Wohama. Spot the ball football, they
are spotting it and going two receivers near side.

Speaker 3 (01:43:11):
Snap goes through the hands of Simpkins and he just has.

Speaker 5 (01:43:15):
To run back and fall on it. Oh my, took
his eye off the ball for a second.

Speaker 3 (01:43:20):
It goes through his hands.

Speaker 5 (01:43:22):
Not to mention it is getting bitter cold here in
Parsons and for the third time tonight, Simpkins has to
fall on a fumble.

Speaker 3 (01:43:31):
This time he gets it back at his own forty
one yard line.

Speaker 6 (01:43:34):
That's a huge loss, a loss of ten on the play,
and you're right, that ball probably is like a boulder
at this point.

Speaker 5 (01:43:41):
Two receivers to the near side, wing on the far
side left. Simpkins takes the snap. It is the pitch
on the misdirection. Connor Lambert drives his way, fights his
way back to looks like maybe the original line of scrimmage.
It'll depend on the spot. It is going to be
third down and long as he is brought down at
the fifty, so it's a nine yard pickup and that'll

(01:44:04):
make it third down and eleven clock rolling here in
the third quarter, nine fifty to go Wohama with the
football and a ten point lead in the third quarter,
third down and eleven. Two receivers to the near side,
two to the far side. Simpkins brings a man in motion.
They'll fake it to him. Sam Simpkins quarterback. Keep driving
his way ahead. He's got the first down inside of

(01:44:26):
Tucker County Territory, across the thirty five inside of the
thirty five to about the thirty four they needed eleven.

Speaker 3 (01:44:34):
Looks like they got about seventeen.

Speaker 6 (01:44:36):
I'll tell you what he's done, a fantastic job here
in the first half sixteen carries eighty one yards for
the quarterback, and he's made some significant runs to keep
the Suahama offense moving throughout the first half.

Speaker 7 (01:44:47):
And here to start the third quarter as well.

Speaker 5 (01:44:50):
Ball on the thirty three yard line of Tucker County,
right in the middle of the field, Wohama with the
football wing on the right, two receivers on the right.
Snap comes back hand off Connor Lambert.

Speaker 3 (01:44:58):
Hits the hole.

Speaker 5 (01:44:59):
Here he goes across the twenty and his feet go
out from under him again, no traction, no ability to
cut back for Connor Lambert.

Speaker 3 (01:45:07):
He can't make those quick turns as he has done
all season.

Speaker 5 (01:45:10):
His feet continue to go out from under him, but
he does it looks like have enough for the first down.

Speaker 7 (01:45:16):
Well. And the thing is his.

Speaker 6 (01:45:18):
Speed is his probably his best attribute, and not to
mention his cutback ability. On this surface, your speed is
actually hurting you because he's running so fast that when
he does, you know, goes to make those cuts.

Speaker 7 (01:45:29):
Like you said, his feeder just coming off from underneath him.

Speaker 5 (01:45:31):
From the Tucker County twenty one yard line. After the
twelve yard pickup, Wohama first and ten handoff, Connor Lambert starts.

Speaker 3 (01:45:39):
Right, goes between the guard.

Speaker 5 (01:45:40):
And the tackle on the right side, gets inside of
the twenty. Looks like he's down to about the seventeen
yard line. You can hear off to you, all right,
we are broadcasting from the stands here in persons, and
you can hear the yells of defense. Balls on the
seventeen yard line. Is a four yard pick or actually

(01:46:02):
eighteen yard line. It's a three yard pickup, first down
in ten for Wahama. Simpkins has it trying to get outside,
breaks a tackle, he's got the fifteen, he's got the ten,
and he's slung out of bounds inside of the ten
yard line. It'll be first in goal for the White
Falcons of Wohama.

Speaker 6 (01:46:18):
I'm telling you what, if there's an MVP of this
ball game, we get his trace, Simpkins. He is taking
over this Quahama offense and making every play necessary to
keep them going in the right direction. Once again, you
just knowed it inside the red zone with the chances
had more points.

Speaker 5 (01:46:33):
Got the ball on the five first and goal from
the Tucker County five yard line. Snap comes back to
Simpkins running hard off the left side.

Speaker 3 (01:46:44):
He's head he drives in. He did not get the
end zone. He's down at the one. A four yard
pickup for Simpkins, and man, I'm gonna tell you what
this Wohama offense has come out on the fire here in.

Speaker 5 (01:47:00):
The third quarter, seven fifty five to go, turning third
quarter clock, Ohama with a sixteen to six lead, and
they now have it first and second in goal from
the one yard line of Tucker County. Simpkins, out of
the pistol, has it handoff, diving for the end zone
and getting in for the Wahama score is still in fields,

(01:47:27):
so Field punches it in and extends that Wahama lead.

Speaker 6 (01:47:34):
Yeah, what a way to come out here in the
first or the second half. Rather for Oohama. I mean,
they just came out and they're trying to establish dominance
and great first possession of that third quarter.

Speaker 5 (01:47:46):
Now the two point conversion for Wahama. Snap directly to
Connor Lambert drives his way.

Speaker 3 (01:47:54):
He did not get in. He is stopped short of
the goal.

Speaker 5 (01:47:59):
Line seven forty to go in the third quarter, Wahama
extends their lead on the touchdown. It is now twenty
two to six White Falcons on top. We're back in
thirty seconds on ninety four point seven.

Speaker 3 (01:48:12):
W elk.

(01:48:37):
four two two seven forty five seventeen or three oh
four sixty four to two ninety nine seventy five. Dave
Service Center, Indigo Lane in Dry Fork.

Speaker 2 (01:48:48):
Ninety four point seven. W elk, Elkins.

Speaker 6 (01:48:55):
And welcome back into Parsons here in the third quarter
of the Semi five Championship game, Semi final Championship that
is Dylan Field's with a one yard touchdown for the
White Falcons. It was a eleven play, eighty six yard drive.
Did that in four minutes. In eighteen seconds. Two point
conversion was no good. However, the White Falcons do now
lead twenty two to six of the Tucker County Mountain Lions.

Speaker 5 (01:49:15):
You know, we had talked about this Wohama team, very explosive,
quick scoring offense. Their touchdown drives tonight have been rather lengthy.
It is taking time off that clock in Tucker County
down by sixteen. Here is the kickoff. Barb scoops it
up at the fourteen. He's across the twenty near sideline

(01:49:37):
twenty five, and I'll be brought down just a little
shy of the thirty yard line again, footing hard to
find by both these teams, and they will spot him
right at the thirty or twenty five. And that is
where well let's check here, fifty to forty thirty excuse me,
thirty yard.

Speaker 3 (01:49:57):
The numbers are gone.

Speaker 7 (01:49:58):
Yes they are, but you talk about it.

Speaker 6 (01:50:00):
I mean, so far Mohammas ran double the plays or
nearly double the places at Tucker County. Mohama with forty
eight plays, Tucker County with only twenty five. Gonna have
to get some more possessions for Tucker County to get
back in this ball game.

Speaker 5 (01:50:12):
Two receivers to the right, single to the left from
their own thirty yard line, handoff Jared Reel looking for
running room. Wohama waiting on him at the line of scrimmage.
Oh my, five white Falcons converge on Jared Reel.

Speaker 3 (01:50:27):
They bring him down. No gain on the play.

Speaker 6 (01:50:30):
Well, you're also starting to see them amno swing, So
you know, we talked about it. Mohama came out here
in the second half, put a very good drive together,
and now you're starting to see that defense start to
rev up.

Speaker 5 (01:50:42):
Clock rolling here in the third quarter was seven minutes
to go, twenty two to six. Wohama on top three
receivers to the right. Mars wants the ball, quick pass.
It is tipped and then dropped. It was tipped of
the line of scrimmage, went into the hands the intended
receiver Eichelberger, and it's incomplete. So now Tucker County kind

(01:51:11):
of behind the eight balls. They look at a third
and ten.

Speaker 6 (01:51:13):
That ball was coming in hot from Marx that looked
like a Nolan Rodder fastball.

Speaker 7 (01:51:18):
There.

Speaker 5 (01:51:19):
Wohama drops five defensive backs. They're in the nickel look
on third and ten for Tucker County. Play action Marx
flushed out of the pocket, looks fires he's.

Speaker 3 (01:51:29):
Got Will Fong. Will Fong makes the catch, still on.

Speaker 5 (01:51:32):
His feet across the forty five yard line, shoved down
the mountains, just shy of the fifty and big six
foot four carrot, Will Fong picks up the first down
for the Tucker County Mountain Lions.

Speaker 6 (01:51:43):
Much needed first down as well. Keep his chains moving,
try to get some momento for your offense. Try to
cut into this lead a little bit. Great job by Marx,
final Will Fong.

Speaker 5 (01:51:54):
Eighteen yards on the pass and catch up to their
own forty eight yard line. Tucker County first down and
ten ball on the far side. Hash Mark moving right
to left handoff chered Riel he's got the fifty, lowers
his shoulder and he will dive down stop shy at
the forty five at about the forty six. But a
nice pickup on a hard run by Jared Reel.

Speaker 7 (01:52:17):
Yes it was.

Speaker 6 (01:52:18):
And now you're starting to see some momentum here for
Tucker County. They're not going to back down.

Speaker 3 (01:52:23):
Six yards on that pickup.

Speaker 5 (01:52:25):
Second down and about four for the Mountain Lions. Will
Thong lines up tight on the near side two receivers
to the far side.

Speaker 3 (01:52:35):
They drop back. They're looking for Mark.

Speaker 5 (01:52:37):
Mark's looking for the running back screen over on the
far side, and it is incomplete Wahama's defensive line.

Speaker 3 (01:52:44):
Great penetration on that play.

Speaker 7 (01:52:46):
Yes, it was.

Speaker 6 (01:52:50):
I almost think you need to attack the secondary. Guess
whamma defense was some of these tall receivers from Tucker County.

Speaker 5 (01:52:58):
Now Kaizamore not quite six foot, but I'll tell you
what he can leap. So here we go, four wide receivers,
two to the left, two to the right.

Speaker 3 (01:53:08):
Snap comes back, the ball is bobbled. It was an RPO.

Speaker 5 (01:53:12):
Mark's bible that had to rein it in and take
off on the run.

Speaker 3 (01:53:16):
He didn't get very far, maybe a yard. It looked
like it was gonna be a play action to reel.
He does get actually no gain on the play does
I'll see.

Speaker 7 (01:53:28):
I'm not sure that he even came the yard there.

Speaker 6 (01:53:30):
And that's the second time we've seen that happen kind
of on those RPO looks where.

Speaker 3 (01:53:35):
Well, it looked like it was gonna be a pass.

Speaker 5 (01:53:36):
They had two receivers stacked up, one behind the other,
and I keep stepping in ice I'm gonna fall down
here before it's done.

Speaker 6 (01:53:45):
I don't know where the ice came from. Has nothing
to do with the fact that it's freezing out here.

Speaker 5 (01:53:49):
Could be fourth down and four for Tucker County. They're
looking for the first down. They handed off to Jared Reel.
He's got the first down for the Mountain Lines, keeps
his legs driving and he's finally shoved out of bounds
on the far sideline at about the thirty five yard
line of Wohama. The Mountain Lions needed it. They got
it from Jared real.

Speaker 7 (01:54:09):
Absolutely they did.

Speaker 6 (01:54:10):
And if you're going to get it, ride number thirty.

Speaker 3 (01:54:15):
Yeah, put him at the thirty seven yard line.

Speaker 5 (01:54:19):
It's a nine yard pickup, first down in ten for
Tucker County. Clock rolling here, four fifty to go, third quarter,
Wohama with a twenty two to six lead. Ball is
dropped again. Marks can't pick it up. It is going
to be a fight for it. It's still loose and I
think Wohamma.

Speaker 3 (01:54:39):
Got on this one.

Speaker 7 (01:54:41):
I think you're right. There were two or three white
hats right there.

Speaker 5 (01:54:44):
Nope, Tucker County managed to rip it away in the
bottom of the pile. Thank goodness for the Mountain Lions.
But they took a significant loss back to their own
forty four yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:54:57):
Goes down as a seven.

Speaker 5 (01:55:00):
Low second down and seventeen for Tucker County.

Speaker 6 (01:55:07):
I know we've mentioned him before, but man, I'd like
to see these quarterbacks hunder center in these conditions.

Speaker 5 (01:55:12):
Three receivers right single to the left pistol formation. Mars
has reel behind him, snap drop back fire, the pass
will fall, goes up, makes the catch times forward.

Speaker 3 (01:55:23):
A player goes low, he goes high, and he'll.

Speaker 5 (01:55:26):
Get back to the thirty five yard line. So the
pass goes down for about seven yards or actually nine yards,
excuse me, and it'll now be third down at about
eight ball right in the middle of the field, moving
right to left, away from the scoreboard. Chucker County trailing
by sixteen, looking to get in the end zone. Three

(01:55:48):
receivers right single to the left, Mark's out of the pistol.
On third down play action, Marks looks fires the pass.
It is intercepted by Wahama ball golf right at the sticks,
got underneath the receiver and kicked it off.

Speaker 3 (01:56:09):
It looks like Simpkins on the interception.

Speaker 7 (01:56:13):
A quarterback intercepting a quarterback. How about that?

Speaker 5 (01:56:16):
So another turnover. Tucker County has turned it over on downs.
Let's see one, two, three, four times and now they
throw an interception. Wahama takes over at their own twenty
nine yard line, first down and ten. Simpkins hands it

(01:56:39):
off to Connor Lambert and he will try to get
ahead to the thirty to thirty one give him two
yards on the carry, So a backbreaker. That hurt for
Tucker County. They were driving, they had some momentum and
then Simpkins just did a good job of undercutting the receiver.
Never contact that he just read the eyes of Samuel

(01:57:02):
Marx and stepped in front of the past.

Speaker 7 (01:57:04):
Well. Two things on that play.

Speaker 6 (01:57:05):
Number one, Mark Stairder's receiver down at number two, he
was laid on the throw.

Speaker 5 (01:57:09):
Second down and eight for Wahama handoff. Connor Lambert looking
to bounce it outside, jumps over, a tackler, flag comes in.

Speaker 3 (01:57:18):
He'll get stopped maybe a yard on the play.

Speaker 5 (01:57:21):
But this one might be coming back on a hold.

Speaker 3 (01:58:06):
It is a hold against.

Speaker 5 (01:58:08):
Wohama that moves the ball back to the twenty four
yard line where it is first down or second down,
and about twenty Simpkins in trouble drops back. Now he's
just weaving in and out of traffic. Nobody opened down
the field, so he takes off on the run and

(01:58:28):
he'll get back across the thirty to about the thirty
three yard line, about a nine yard pickup. Wohama will
look at a third down and about eight.

Speaker 6 (01:58:43):
That's a good job by Tray Simpkins there got outside
and was trying to throw the ball down field. Nobody
there great covers where the Mountain Liones takes off and
gets themself nine yards well.

Speaker 3 (01:58:53):
Barb will Fong.

Speaker 5 (01:58:56):
And Kaizamore the secondary, not letting anybody get to open.
Now here comes Connor Lambert breaks a tackle. He's got
the forty five to fifty near sideline forty five forty
and he has shoved out of bounds in Tucker County territory.
It is a first down to ten as he gets
inside the thirty five yard line, first down to ten
for the White Falcons.

Speaker 6 (01:59:17):
And there you see the speed from Lambert and boy,
once he's got his footing, he's definitely a difference maker.

Speaker 5 (01:59:24):
Well, the best footing is going to be found outside
of the hash marks. And he's down at the thirty
eight yard line. So it is first down and ten
for Wahama four wide receiver Simpkins all by himself. Now
they'll bring a man in motion fake it to him.
Simpkins is going to keep a quarterback, keep dodging tacklers,

(01:59:46):
staying on his feet.

Speaker 3 (01:59:47):
He's got the first down and more as he gets.

Speaker 5 (01:59:52):
Down right about the twenty five yard line. I mean
he is hop stepping to avoid the tackles.

Speaker 6 (01:59:59):
We we talked about him earlier.

Speaker 7 (02:00:02):
He's having a heck of a game right now. Just
on the ground alone.

Speaker 6 (02:00:05):
He's twenty carries one hundred and sixteen yards oution in
about five point eight yards per carry.

Speaker 5 (02:00:10):
That was a thirteen yard pick up there first and
ten from the twenty five yard line of Tucker County, Wohama.

Speaker 3 (02:00:17):
With a sixteen point lead.

Speaker 5 (02:00:19):
It is going to be Connor Lambert on the misdirection,
stutter steps and then.

Speaker 3 (02:00:23):
He falls down.

Speaker 5 (02:00:24):
Feet went out from under him, tried to stutter step
and cut back, and when he tried to cut back,
he lost the yardage back to the twenty seven as
he fell down.

Speaker 7 (02:00:33):
Yeah, he struggled the entire game with footing.

Speaker 6 (02:00:36):
And again we talked about it when you have a
kid that's that fast and he's trying to use that
to his advantage and conditions like this, if you don't
have the right set of cleats, you know, it makes
it difficult to use your best attributes.

Speaker 3 (02:00:47):
And he is helick.

Speaker 7 (02:00:49):
He struggled. Yeah, but he's got one hundred and fifty
five yards already.

Speaker 3 (02:00:52):
It's crazy.

Speaker 5 (02:00:53):
Second second town in about twelve from the Tucker County
twenty seven and a half yard line as we wind
down the third quarter, Ohama with the football and the lead,
it is a handoff to Fields. Fields working his way ahead,
he gets inside of the twenty. A nice pick up there,
and Dylan Fields is having himself a pretty good night.

Speaker 7 (02:01:12):
As well, yes he is.

Speaker 5 (02:01:16):
And Tucker County wants to take a time out. Aj
Rapp wants to talk to his squad and figure it out.

Speaker 3 (02:01:25):
So let's see.

Speaker 5 (02:01:26):
The ball will be spotted fifteen about the eighteen yard line.
It's just very difficult to tell. So that was about
a nine yard pickup. It'll be third down at about
four for Wahama. So we know next weekend, next Friday
at noon is the Single A championship. Cameron number four

(02:01:48):
will face the winner of this game in Class Double A.
That's at seven o'clock on Friday night. And remind me
who that is. I've lost my feet here.

Speaker 3 (02:02:05):
What's that the Double A game?

Speaker 12 (02:02:07):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (02:02:07):
Sorry? Sorry?

Speaker 6 (02:02:07):
Yeah, So you get it in the Double A ranks
and you're going to see.

Speaker 7 (02:02:15):
Frankfurt and Rome County.

Speaker 3 (02:02:17):
There you go, frank Ron County.

Speaker 5 (02:02:18):
Triple A. It is going to be Bridgeport and Herbert Hoover.
Hoover that game Saturday at noon. And then in Quad
A Martinsburg and Spring Mills. Here we go third down
and four from Wahama. They handed off to Connor Lambert
pushes his way off the left side and he is
going to be right at the fifteen yard line. He

(02:02:42):
needed four and he got about three. So it does
bring up fourth down out about a yard at the
fifteen yard line, and that is the end of this
quick moving third quarter. Wohama Leeds Tucker County twenty two
to six are coverage presented by the Tiki Coal. We'll

Twenty two to six. Wuhamma with the lead.

Speaker 5 (02:04:23):
They have the football to start the fourth quarter with
a fourth down and a yard. Direct snap comes back
and Wohama picks up the first down. Running hard off
the right side, goes Wyatt Harris.

Speaker 3 (02:04:35):
Where's number four on that jersey that a couple hours
ago was white? It is not so much that now.

Speaker 7 (02:04:42):
Well, whoever does the laundry's got their work cutoff for him.

Speaker 5 (02:04:45):
I can tell you that indeed he will get inside
of the ten down to the nine yard line, needed.

Speaker 3 (02:04:51):
A yard got six. Its first and goal for Wahama.

Speaker 5 (02:04:57):
Simpkins out of the pist from the nine yard line
of Tucker County. Direct snap to Simpkins, the quarterback running
hard right off the left side, and he will push
his way inside of the five. Looks like he's down
to about the three. Wahama leading by sixteen. They're looking
for more.

Speaker 6 (02:05:15):
Yeah, if you're Tucker, you have to dig deep right
here because the last thing you can do is give
up another six to eight points.

Speaker 5 (02:05:21):
Ball looks like it is on the four yard line
of the Mountain Lions. Wohama second and goal, this time
from the four, Simpkins and Lambert in the backfield. Snap
handoff Connor Lambert driving.

Speaker 3 (02:05:33):
His way in.

Speaker 5 (02:05:34):
He he's got the touchdown for Wahama. So just like that,
Wohama extends their lead. It's now twenty eight to six.

Speaker 6 (02:05:41):
Well, this offensive line for the way Falcons has established
themselves here in the second half, and boy, what a
difference it's made.

Speaker 5 (02:05:48):
Four and a half minute drive. That's the shortest scoring
drive after the first one for Wahama and they are
just marching down the field right now, and Tucker County
needs to get some points. Now to try the extra
point kick. Snap is back, the kick is up, and the.

Speaker 3 (02:06:05):
Kick is good. Twenty nine.

Speaker 5 (02:06:08):
That's a six our score. Wahama on top of Tucker County.

point was good. That now brings your score. White Falcons
of Muhamma twenty nine. The mountain line's six.

Speaker 5 (02:07:15):
Tucker County, big mountain to climb here right now in
the fourth quarter.

Speaker 3 (02:07:19):
They can get back in.

Speaker 5 (02:07:21):
This game, but I think at this point demanded, they're
gonna have to go almost exclusively to the air.

Speaker 6 (02:07:25):
You're gonna have to which takes real out of the game.
But at this point you're gonna have to count on
your big guys on the outside.

Speaker 5 (02:07:31):
Here's the kickoff picked up at the thirty five by
Kaizomori jumps or the twenty five rather, jumps across the
thirty and has brought down about the thirty two yard line.
It'll be first down and ten for Tucker County. They've
got it at their own thirty two at yard line.
They got sixty eight yards to get to the end zone.

(02:07:51):
Ten fifty five.

Speaker 3 (02:07:52):
To go in this one.

Speaker 6 (02:07:54):
And I'll tell you what I mean, Tucker's they've played,
They've done what they normally do.

Speaker 7 (02:07:57):
They've been balanced.

Speaker 6 (02:07:58):
I mean Jerry Real fifteen carres hundred and twenty seven
yards and through the air marks until that interception. I
mean he was seven to fourteen before the pick over
hive yards is just can't get the points on the board.

Speaker 5 (02:08:09):
Kaisa more to the near side. Three receivers to the left,
ball in the middle of the field. Samuel Marx has
the snap, hands it off to jaredri or Jared Reel
looking for running room, know where.

Speaker 3 (02:08:19):
To go off the left side.

Speaker 5 (02:08:20):
That Wahama defense met him and smacked him down.

Speaker 3 (02:08:25):
He lost yardage on the play. Wohama.

Speaker 5 (02:08:28):
Right now they're playing with house money. They're up by
a score of twenty nine to six.

Speaker 3 (02:08:36):
It goes down as a three yard loss for the
out line. Yeah, you're two yard loss at to thirty.

Speaker 6 (02:08:43):
You're up three scores right now, clock's ticking along mountain
as if we've got to find some way to get
this ball moving down the field.

Speaker 5 (02:08:52):
Two receivers to the near side, three to the far side.
Samuel Marx out of the pistol, drops back screen Chared
re L.

Speaker 3 (02:09:00):
He makes the catch, stays on his feet.

Speaker 5 (02:09:02):
He's got the first down as he crosses the forty
five yard line close to the fifty.

Speaker 3 (02:09:08):
Nice job there. They had a double screen setup.

Speaker 5 (02:09:11):
They could have gone either way with it, and Reel
was the most open and he makes it happen.

Speaker 6 (02:09:17):
Well, again, you're gonna have to use your best players.
Reel is your best player, but you're not gonna be
able to allow on that run game. So you've got
to find ways to get here in the ball in space,
not exactly what they did.

Speaker 5 (02:09:27):
Ball on the forty nine yard line far side hash
mark Tucker County moving left or right toward the scoreboard.
Here at the class of nineteen eighty four field in
Parsons Mountain Lions trying to get back in this one
big mountain to climb, but they got time to do it.
Ten oh three to go in the game, five wide

(02:09:47):
receivers in the pattern. Samuel Marx has it time in
the pocket, drops.

Speaker 3 (02:09:53):
Back, fires it deep down the middle of the field.

Speaker 5 (02:09:55):
It is in complete and a little bit of contact there,
but I'm not sure it was enough contact to throw
the receiver off.

Speaker 3 (02:10:02):
Of his route. And no flag.

Speaker 7 (02:10:04):
Oh, I think that's a great note call there by
the referees.

Speaker 6 (02:10:06):
It's championship football, you know, I mean champion chill little football.

Speaker 7 (02:10:09):
He got like these guys play a little bit well.

Speaker 5 (02:10:11):
The defender was trailing the intended receiver and I think
that was Eichelberger. It was Eichelberger, the intended receiver, the
receiver trailing him, and the receiver was looking or the
defender was looking back for the ball and just kind
of ran into the receiver, but he didn't knock him down.

Speaker 7 (02:10:29):
The fact that he looked back is probably what saved him.

Speaker 5 (02:10:31):
Second down and ten Marx wants the screen, drops back,
throws it and it is caught. But the receiver had
to go down to a knee. That's kaid Rap. He
had to go down to a knee to catch the ball.
And now we got an equipment issue. One of the
defenders for Wahama makes his way off the field, so

(02:10:55):
the pass is complete, but it's back at the forty seven,
so it goes down as a two yard loss.

Speaker 3 (02:11:01):
Make a third down and about twelve Tucker County on
their own.

Speaker 5 (02:11:04):
Side of the field at the forty seven yard line,
fire side hash mark. Three receivers come to the near side,
a single to the far side. Jared Reel stands behind Marx.

Speaker 3 (02:11:15):
Who's in the pistol.

Speaker 5 (02:11:16):
Snap comes back, play action looks fires. Will Fong makes
the catch bibles that he has hit, he has brought down.
He is in Wahama territory, but not enough for the
first down needed to get to the forty one.

Speaker 3 (02:11:29):
He's at the forty.

Speaker 7 (02:11:30):
Three yea, and word, Tucker County has had a love
the success passing.

Speaker 6 (02:11:34):
The ball is right behind the linebackers, so I think
that's that middle area behind the linebackers is what they're
gonna have to target.

Speaker 3 (02:11:41):
So put it at the forty four yard line. Excuse me.

Speaker 5 (02:11:43):
It is fourth down and about three three receivers come
to the nearer side, single to the far side. Fourth
down and three for Tucker County. Snap comes back. They
hand it off to Jared Reel.

Speaker 3 (02:11:57):
He breaks a tackle, stays on his feet.

Speaker 5 (02:11:59):
He's got the first down as he keeps his legs
driving inside of the forty inside of the thirty five,
close to the thirty yard line of Wohama.

Speaker 6 (02:12:08):
Nothing but will out of that young man right there.
He was stopped in the backfield for a loss. The
legs never stopped churning. And know what, he's not going
to go out without a fight, and what a way
to keep those legs turning to pick up that first down.

Speaker 5 (02:12:21):
Thirty three yard line. It's eleven yards on the pick
up and it is first down and ten for Tucker
County at the Wahama thirty three. Two receivers stacked up right,
two to the left. They want the screen. Kaisamore makes
the catch, comes to the near side, a flag comes in.
It could I don't know that. One could go either way.

(02:12:43):
It could be a defensive holding call. It could also
be offensive pass interference because they stacked up receivers one
behind the other and it looked like the receiver on
the near side started blocking before the pass was thrown.
And I'm completely wrong either way, it's a holding call
against Tucker County.

Speaker 7 (02:13:05):
I was with you, though, I mean it made sense.

Speaker 5 (02:13:07):
I appreciate the backup. If the Pascal was here, he
would have pointed out that I was wrong.

Speaker 7 (02:13:12):
Yeah, he's not here, though we're not worried of bum Way.

Speaker 5 (02:13:15):
He's not like the Pascal or my normal color commentator
is coaching basketball at Tiger's Valley this year. He's the
assistant to Tom Walmsley, and they had a scrimmage today.
It did move the ball back by the way to
the forty three yard line, where it'll be first down
in twenty snap back to Samuel Marx looks for Garrett

(02:13:35):
Will Fong deep down the field. It is in complete again.
Receivers back and forth, Will Fong and the quarterback for
Wahama battling it out deep down the field, and officials
are talking. I did not see a flag come down, but.

Speaker 7 (02:13:52):
Well, I'll tell you what I thought.

Speaker 6 (02:13:54):
I was offensive pass interference on Willfon to be honest
with you, he's kind of pushed off the receiver or
the defender there at the very end.

Speaker 5 (02:14:00):
They were battling all the way down simptoms on their defense,
and now here is the penalty call. It is going
to be personal foul. Oh wow, and a loss of down.
A personal foul penalty against Tucker County. Again, we choose

(02:14:24):
not to identify the players and that'll move the ball
back to the Tucker County forty three yard line.

Speaker 6 (02:14:35):
Boy, those are the one thing you absolutely cannot have
and cannot do, especially when you're down in a one
and done game.

Speaker 5 (02:14:44):
Winner of this one will face Cameron, the number four team.
They took out Number one Tug Valley last night thirty
six to nothing. And this single a game played at noon,
And I like the way they've restructured the playoffs. It
used to be like then. Single a then triple A.
Now it's single double, triple quad. Aw should be first

(02:15:07):
and thirty five from their own forty three yard line.
Handoff charit real looking to get outside breaks one tackle,
cannot break another one as he does, get across his
own forty five to about the.

Speaker 3 (02:15:21):
Forty seven forty eight yard line.

Speaker 7 (02:15:25):
Looks like it you'll put right around a forty eight to.

Speaker 5 (02:15:27):
Believe now, so that's only a five yard pickup. Makes
it second down and thirty second in Milkins, it's a
long way from here. Second and thirty from their own
forty eight yard line, Tucker County trailing twenty nine to
six with seven fifteen to go in the ball game.
Mars takes the snap hit as he throws, pass comes

(02:15:49):
to Eichelberger. He makes the catch, then he is picked
up and bulldog down by Tray Simpkins at the Wahama
forty five yard line. Ends up being an eight yard
pass and catch. It's now third down and about twenty three.

Speaker 7 (02:16:09):
What a big hit.

Speaker 3 (02:16:12):
He did. He looked like he was roping a calf.

Speaker 6 (02:16:14):
Yeah, I mean that was a big hit. And all
thinking about is getting hit like that and hitting the
ground in this.

Speaker 7 (02:16:20):
In this weather. That hurt.

Speaker 5 (02:16:22):
Three receivers to the nearer side, that's the short side
of the field, single receiver the far side, as Will Fong.
Marx has it on third down and forever rolls. Now
he's flushed, rolling to his left.

Speaker 3 (02:16:33):
Now he's just gonna have to take it and run and.

Speaker 5 (02:16:35):
He is gonna be hitting brought down at the Wahama
forty yard line, and Marx.

Speaker 3 (02:16:41):
Looks like he might be hurt.

Speaker 7 (02:16:43):
Well, he took one heck of a shot over there.

Speaker 5 (02:16:45):
I think he's up. I think he's okay. Or if
he's not okay, he's gonna keep playing. It goes down
as a five yard run to the forty yard line
of Wohama. And so in addition, now for Tucker County,
you're battling the Wahama defense. You're battling the elements and
the slick field conditions. Now you're battling the clock as

(02:17:08):
it is now under six minutes to go in the
ball game.

Speaker 6 (02:17:11):
Yeah, and one thing you can't have or penalties and
negative plays because you need points desperately and in a hurry.
And they're gonna have to find a way to try
to put something on the board here real soon.

Speaker 3 (02:17:21):
Fourth and seventeen. Wahama playing cover zero.

Speaker 5 (02:17:24):
Right now, Marx has the ball, He's gonna be hit,
He's gonna be sacked. He lost the football. Was he
down or is it a turnover? It is a turnover.
Marx lost the ball on the sack. I thought he
was down, but the official said no. Either way, it
would have been a turnover on fourth down. But now

(02:17:44):
it is gonna be Wahama football at their own forty
four yard line.

Speaker 6 (02:17:50):
The last thing that Coach Rapp and these Mountain Lions
needed was that.

Speaker 7 (02:17:54):
And boy, what a backrecker.

Speaker 3 (02:17:55):
There, tough one.

Speaker 5 (02:18:00):
As Wohama takes over first and ten at their own
forty four yard line, Simpkins, the quarterback, tries to go
right up the middle of Wahama, not having any or
Tucker County not saying go. They're gonna say you stop
right there, put him down at a one yard loss
to the forty five.

Speaker 6 (02:18:19):
Well, right now, if you're a Ohama you're looking at
that play clock and you're gonna run this thing down
as close as the year as possible.

Speaker 7 (02:18:26):
Try to get this five minutes off the clock.

Speaker 3 (02:18:28):
Yeah, it does.

Speaker 5 (02:18:29):
For all intents and purposes, look like Wahama is going
to be taken on Cameron and Charleston at UC Stadium,
lateley Field next Friday at noon. Little closer drive for
the folks from Wahama who again very impressed with the
travel parents and fans that they bring. My gosh, there's
a lot of people here wearing red, a lot of people,

(02:18:51):
you know. I mean, obviously Tucker County always travels well
across the way. They've got those smaller bleachers set up.
Those are packed out here on the side of the
bleachers on the press box side that we are on,
almost packed out.

Speaker 6 (02:19:05):
And I tell you, Wohama just an impressive crowd. They've
filled up the whole side of the stands. Say, I
don't think there's a place over there to sit. You
got people standing along the rails and everywhere else. So
kudos of those folks, because that's what builds programs, support,
the support of your communities.

Speaker 5 (02:19:21):
It does second down in fourteen, that was a penalty.
Wohama on a false start makes it second and fourteen
from their own forty yard line. Simptoms out of the pistol.
It is a hand off the fields right up the middle.
He's got a big hole as he takes it to
the fifty.

Speaker 3 (02:19:36):
Yard line and dives ahead.

Speaker 5 (02:19:38):
Looks like he's right about the forty nine yard line,
So a big run there by Dylan Fields and he'll
take it to the forty nine of Tucker County.

Speaker 6 (02:19:51):
We again kudos to that offensive line for Klahoma. They've
taken over and established themselves here in the second half,
and that's been the difference in the ballgame.

Speaker 5 (02:20:00):
Hundred four minutes to go in this semifinal game in
the Class A playoffs, final game of this weekend, and
it looks like Wohama he is going to take the win.
They lead twenty nine to six. Third down at about
four handoff to Fields. Fields running hard off the left side.
He's lost the football. Tucker County's picked it up. They're
trying to return it. That is Lucas Barbie scoops up

(02:20:24):
the fumble and returns it to the Tucker or to
the Wahama forty five yard line.

Speaker 7 (02:20:30):
How about that down, But not out yet.

Speaker 5 (02:20:34):
Never ever count this team out. Three thirty four to go.
It is a hard mountain to climb, but if you've
ever driven from here up to the high school itself,
they're used to climbing mountains here in Tucker County on.

Speaker 7 (02:20:47):
A daily basis.

Speaker 3 (02:20:50):
So Tucker County with a little bit of life in them.
Three thirty four to.

Speaker 5 (02:20:54):
Go, They've got the ball at the Wahama forty five
yard line.

Speaker 3 (02:20:57):
After the turnover my.

Speaker 7 (02:20:58):
Fields for these big guys right now, if I'm Mars.

Speaker 5 (02:21:02):
Tucker County down twenty nine to six, till that offensive
line to block Tucker.

Speaker 3 (02:21:06):
County, throw the ball. Here we go. Snap back Mars time.

Speaker 5 (02:21:11):
In the pocket, fires the pass looking for real, and
Reel couldn't get to it.

Speaker 3 (02:21:16):
Just a little bit.

Speaker 5 (02:21:16):
Overthrown, and it'll be second down and ten. It does
stop the clock on the incomplete pass.

Speaker 6 (02:21:24):
I'll tell you what he had Kazimore on that left
side going down the sidelines one on one.

Speaker 7 (02:21:29):
Just didn't see it.

Speaker 3 (02:21:32):
Coming up.

Speaker 5 (02:21:33):
A very quick post game show, mainly so you and
I can pack up and get in the warmth of
the station vehicle.

Speaker 7 (02:21:39):
I'm not sure I can get up. I think I'm
froze to the bleachers here.

Speaker 5 (02:21:42):
I might have to get a spatula out of a
kitchen to populoose. Second down in ten for Tucker County
from the Wahama forty five yard line.

Speaker 3 (02:21:51):
Snap back to Marx deep drop looks fires it across
the middle, tipped around in and out of the hands
of Garrett will Fall.

Speaker 5 (02:22:00):
In complete and kind of a dangerous though there from Mars.
I know you're you know, you've got six foot four
Garrett Willfong in there.

Speaker 3 (02:22:09):
He's wide.

Speaker 5 (02:22:09):
Oh you know, he's easy to find, but he was
surrounded by about five white falcons.

Speaker 6 (02:22:16):
Yeah, we talked about the saucepot kind of being behind
the linebackers that time.

Speaker 7 (02:22:20):
That Buhamma defense.

Speaker 5 (02:22:23):
Took that middle of the field away, single high safety
man demand defense. On third down and ten from the
Wohama forty five, marks looks fires it deep down the
middle of the field. It is in complete under through
his receiver. KUIs the more just a little bit almost intercepted,
you know, and you know, kind of a disadvantage here

(02:22:46):
is Wohama knows. You know, it's you're up by twenty
three points. You're Wohama's defensive coordinator. You're rushing three and
dropping everybody else in pass coverage.

Speaker 6 (02:22:56):
Absolutely, the last thing you want to do is give
Tucker County any for any hope, just sit back, play
a little prevent defense, keep everything in front of you.

Speaker 7 (02:23:07):
Hope you can get this ball back and run this
clock out.

Speaker 5 (02:23:10):
Three sixteen to go in the ballgame, clock is stopped.
It's twenty nine to six Wuhama, Tucker County. Looks at
a fourth and ten from the White Falcon forty five.
Snap back to Marx, Time in the pocket, looks fires
it deep down the field.

Speaker 3 (02:23:24):
It is caught by Barb.

Speaker 5 (02:23:25):
He's got it at the ten, broad down inside of
the ten yard line.

Speaker 6 (02:23:32):
Great past there by marks and great patience, so allow
that to come open.

Speaker 3 (02:23:36):
Barb goes up and catches it.

Speaker 5 (02:23:38):
And excuse me, it's inside of the fifteen, close to
the ten. Looks like he is down at about the
twelve yard line. I apologize for missing those numbers. It's
just it's really there's no numbers.

Speaker 3 (02:23:51):
On the field anymore.

Speaker 7 (02:23:52):
Numbers.

Speaker 5 (02:23:52):
Yeah, First and ten from the Wuhama twelve yard line.
Snap comes back to Marx punk Fanks looking in the
end zone. Time in the pocket fires it across the middle,
looking for Kaisamore.

Speaker 3 (02:24:03):
At the goal line, and he can't get it, cannot
come up with it.

Speaker 5 (02:24:07):
It was a rocket pass in there. Good coverage by
the White Falcons. Benjamin Withrow, the senior linebacker, dropped back
in coverage and he was right there in the passing lane.

Speaker 6 (02:24:20):
I'll tell you what Marx is throwing fastballs for sure,
which have got to be difficult to catch.

Speaker 7 (02:24:25):
It might need to take just a little bit off
of those passes.

Speaker 3 (02:24:28):
Second down and ten from the Wahama twelve yard line,
two fifty two to go in the game, Wohama with
a twenty three point lead.

Speaker 5 (02:24:34):
Tucker County trying to get back in. It fire the pass.
It's intercepted in the end zone. It's Connor Lambert. He
takes a three yards deep.

Speaker 3 (02:24:42):
In the end zone.

Speaker 5 (02:24:42):
He crossed the fifteen to twenty, the twenty five to thirty,
the thirty five to forty, and he is slammed down
by Jared Reel on the sidelines. And now a little
pushing and shoving going on as Jared Reel with the
hard tackle here on the near side, and then Wohama
players pushing and shoving with Tucker County players.

Speaker 3 (02:25:05):
Things getting a little heated here on the near side.

Speaker 5 (02:25:08):
Wohama took a fence to the tackle by Jared Reel.

Speaker 3 (02:25:12):
It was a hard tackle, but it was in bounds.

Speaker 6 (02:25:15):
I agree it was a hard tackle. It was just
a good, hard football play by Jared Reel. A kid
that's gonna give you everything he's got. He's gonna play
his heart out.

Speaker 5 (02:25:26):
So an interception on the tip a hard tackle by
Jared Reel, and again one of the Wahama players took
a fence to it, and then somebody came in to
defend that, and I just it almost got ugly. Good
job by the coaching staff of Kohama to calm it down.

Speaker 7 (02:25:43):
Absolutely absolutely so at.

Speaker 5 (02:25:46):
Two thirty six to go, Wohama has the football. After
the interception, they will go into a modified victory formation
out of the pistol and they'll just take a knee.
So Wahama going into the pistol victory formation.

Speaker 3 (02:26:04):
I don't think I've ever seen that. I was gonna say,
I've never seen victory formation like that.

Speaker 5 (02:26:09):
With two and a half minutes to go, they're just
gonna take the snap, let the clock wind down. Tucker
County not gonna take any timeouts, and again good.

Speaker 3 (02:26:21):
Job things you know.

Speaker 5 (02:26:22):
A little frustration, hard tackle by Tucker County, legal tackle inbounds.
Wuhamma didn't like it, pushing and shoving, and the coaches
immediately step in from Wahama and say stop it.

Speaker 7 (02:26:35):
Absolutely great job of the coaches.

Speaker 5 (02:26:39):
Victory formation again for Wahama. A deep snap comes back,
another snap, it goes down statistically as another loss. As
on two victory formation snaps, they've gone backwards ten yards
because again, first time I have ever seen it, and
I've been doing this for thirty four years.

Speaker 7 (02:27:00):
I've never seen that either.

Speaker 6 (02:27:01):
If I'm Trey Simpkins right now, I'm like, hey, coach,
you over here taking away from my stats man.

Speaker 3 (02:27:05):
Killing me on the numbers.

Speaker 7 (02:27:08):
Ten yard loss on two flays.

Speaker 5 (02:27:10):
Here clock rolling a minute fifteen to go, Wohama leads
twenty nine to six over Tucker County, Wohama in the
victory formation after the interception and the return up to
the fifty yard line by Connor Lambert, high pass over
the head of Garrett will Fong right in to the

(02:27:30):
belly of Connor Lambert, he decided to bring it out
of the end zone, came up the nearer sideline, tackled
at the forty nine yard line, and then three straight
pistol formation victory snaps and it looks like Tucker County

(02:27:52):
will get the football back with about twenty seconds to go.

Speaker 7 (02:27:57):
Yeah, well, Holm's gonna have to snap this with about
seven on.

Speaker 5 (02:27:59):
The five seconds on the play clock, twenty six on
the game clock, snap is back and Simpkins takes it
and runs around. Quite frankly, he could have run around
for twenty seconds because Tucker County was not putting any
defensive pressure on and I.

Speaker 7 (02:28:19):
Think he thought about it. He did. He absolutely looked around,
like what should I do?

Speaker 5 (02:28:23):
Coach you know, and the coach you know again, you know,
long term experience coach Jim Toff. Great job, great program,
and look, Tucker County has absolutely nothing to hang their heads. Obviously,
they wanted to be in Turtleston next weekendely, but it
didn't work out, and that's okay.

Speaker 3 (02:28:43):
They had a phenomenal season.

Speaker 5 (02:28:45):
Twelve and one is how they will finish up for
the second year in a row, making it all the
way to the semifinals and the third time in five years.

Speaker 6 (02:28:55):
I think, yeah, I believe so, and I mean last
year they had a powerhouse team and to come back
this year it would be the exact same position with
a chance to get to the championship games.

Speaker 7 (02:29:03):
Great job a coach. Rep.

Speaker 5 (02:29:05):
Now here's Jared Reel on first down and ten from
the Wahama thirty yard line. They will hand it off
to him and aj Rap's not gonna take a time out.

Speaker 3 (02:29:15):
That is going to do it.

Speaker 5 (02:29:19):
It started out with fireworks and then the two teams
had to grind it out and it was a fun
football game to watch and a fun football game to call.

Speaker 3 (02:29:30):
The Wahama White.

Speaker 5 (02:29:31):
Falcons will make their way to UC Stadium at Laidley
Field next Friday at noon to take.

Speaker 3 (02:29:38):
On the Dragons of Cameron.

Speaker 5 (02:29:41):
It'll be a noon kickoff for the state title in
Class single A. Tucker County finishes out at twelve and
one on the season and number two in the state
of West Virginia, so that is gonna wrap up the game.

Speaker 3 (02:29:56):
We'll take a thirty second break.

Speaker 5 (02:29:57):
When we come back, we'll take a look at statistics
and get you back to music. Tucker County Mountain Lion
Football presented by Matiki Cole We're back in thirty seconds
on ninety four point seven w ELK.

Speaker 9 (02:30:10):

Speaker 1 (02:30:37):

Speaker 2 (02:30:40):
You're listening to the Class Single A playoffs with Tucker
County on ninety four point seven w elk.

Speaker 3 (02:30:49):
Final score here from Parsons, Wahama.

Speaker 5 (02:30:52):
The White Falcons remain undefeated. They will go to Charleston's
UC Stadium at Lately Field next week to battle all
the Cameron Dragons for the Class Single A title game.
They defeat Tucker County here tonight by a score of
twenty nine to six. And you know, you were given
stats throughout the game to Manuel, I never would have guessed,

(02:31:14):
you know, Jared Reel had over one hundred yards. On
the other side, Connor Lambert, it just seemed like they
were getting a little bit here and a little bit there. Right,
But at the end of the day, nice numbers for
both teams.

Speaker 7 (02:31:24):
That's exactly right.

Speaker 6 (02:31:25):
And we'll start with Tucker County, and we'll start with
Jared Reel on the night nineteen carries one hundred and
thirty nine yards averge seven point three yards per carry
to end his great career here at Tucker County. Samuel
Marx the other rusher for the Mountain Lines, seven carries
minus three yards. In the passing game, Samuel Marx was
very impressive there for a very long period of time

(02:31:45):
out throughout the game. He finished twelve to twenty seven
for one hundred and seventy yards. He did have the
two interceptions there and those passes were completed to Garrett
Wilfong five receptions for thirty nine yards, Red Kazimore one
for thirty Jared Reel.

Speaker 7 (02:32:01):
Two catches or Seat got Yeah two catches.

Speaker 6 (02:32:03):
For thirty five yards, Eicholberger with one catch for eight yards,
Lucas Barb two catches for sixty yards, and Cayden Rapp
with one for minus two. So he did a very
good jop spreading the ball to his receivers, just unfortunately
couldn't get the points on the board. So pot final
plays fifty three plays three hundred and six yards total
for the Mountain Lions, and then you go to the

(02:32:23):
victorious White Falcons of Wahama. On the ground, Connor Lambert,
we talked about him. Twenty five carries one hundred and
sixty two yards average six point five yards per carry,
did have two yrushing touchdowns. Dylan Fields nine carries forty
seven yards. He averaged over five yards to carry and
a touchdown. Trace Simpkins to me the MVP of the game.
Twenty six carries finished with one oh two. Those numbers

(02:32:45):
are misleading, so he took three straight victory formation victory
snaps which cost him about fifteen yards, but he still
averaged three point nine yards per rush. You had Wyatt
Harris who were three carries for thirteen yards, didn't have
to do much to trace Simpkins one for three twenty
six yards.

Speaker 7 (02:33:04):
That completion went to Hayden Lloyd there in the first half.

Speaker 6 (02:33:06):
So total place from Omahama sixty six total plays three
hundred and fifty yards average about five point three yards
per game.

Speaker 7 (02:33:13):
Probably rather and.

Speaker 6 (02:33:14):
They're going to walk out of Parsons with a big
victory and bus ride back to get ready for a
championship game.

Speaker 5 (02:33:20):
Yep, nice four four plus hour bus ride back, but
obviously a nice trip back. So that is going to
wrap it up for a high school football coverage. Don't forget, though,
