Speaker 3 (00:26):
We welcome you in at to Tucker County High School,
the class of eighty four court here in well Up
on the Mountain, Hamilton, I believe officially as the name
of it. As we're getting ready for the regional tournament
Single A girls. It gets under way tonight, and of
course they have revamped it. If you're old like me,

(00:49):
you remember when they had sectional tournaments and regional tournaments,
and then a couple of years ago they changed it.
If you got to the regional championship, whether you want
or losst you went to Charleston. That was working. So
now basically they have bracketed out four regions. In all
four classes, They've got anywhere between eight and ten teams

(01:10):
in a region. The coaches get together vote on the
seedings and then that sets us up. So we are
in Class single A, Region two, Tucker County the overall
one seed, Harmon the eight seed, that is the opponent tonight.
The winner of this game tonight we'll play the winner
of the four seed East Hardy and the five seed

(01:33):
Tigers Valley, and that game going on tonight up in Baker,
and the athletic director of Tigers Valley, Amanda Bell, says
she will keep me up to date on the scores
from that game because the winner of that East Hardy
Tigers Valley game will play the winner of this one
Tucker County or Harmon on Wednesday next week. And of

(01:55):
course it is tournament time. We're very happy to bring
you Tucker County Sports here on ninety four point seven.
Weok when we get to tournament time we try to
expand our coverage just a little bit. We're also planning
on bringing you the boys tournament game from here at
Tucker County coming up on March the twelfth, So we've

(02:17):
got a lot to tell you about as we get
ready again. It is Tucker County the one seed and
Harmon the eight seed. Here tonight regional basketball. We're gonna
step away for sixty seconds. When we come back, I
had an opportunity to talk with the head coach of Harmon,
Christian Motes. Will get his thoughts coming up. Tucker County

Our pregame show underway getting ready for Harman and Tucker County,
joined by head coach Christian Motes of the Harmon Lady Panthers.
So Hey, it is tournament time and you know anything
can happen. How have you spent the last couple of
days getting ready for this Tucker County team?

Speaker 7 (04:07):
Oh, I've just been you know, we've really been trying
to build the girls their mentality. Let them know that
and anything's possible, you know with our girls, you know,
our most experienced girl as a second year athlete, you know.
So I'm telling them to come out, have fun, play hard,
and give me effort because I can. I can coach
skills and nex'es and nose, but I can't coach effort.
That's got to be from them. And they really they

(04:29):
give me everything. They have comp be more proud of them.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
You know, let's talk a little bit about this team.
I mean, if you look at the roster, you know,
you've got six young ladies. Now there's five on the
court at any given time, so you've got to be
careful with fouls and injuries and things like that. But
talk just a little bit about all six of these
girls from the start of the season to now and
the work they've been putting in.

Speaker 7 (04:50):
Well, from the start of the season, it was they
showed up to practice and I explained to them, like
this is this is this is gonna be work. We're
gonna work hard. And they've done and absolutely that They've
They've worked their what's off, They've worked day in and
day out. They always show up.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
They they build each other up.

Speaker 7 (05:07):
And for them to have such a such a small
knowledge of basketball, to see them show up and work
as hard as they have this season, it's been absolutely incredible.
And with with we had five, we had six girls
to begin with. One girl had to leave and we
had another girl come a halfway through the season. So
it just really shows the type of girls I'm dealing with.
They step up for each other, they work for each
other and it's it's just I'm happy to be a

(05:28):
part of it.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
What is their kind of their mentality from what you've
seen coming into this. I mean, obviously it's a tough
task in front of you, but you know, are they
coming in ready to work tonight? Yeah?

Speaker 7 (05:39):
I believe they're coming in ready to work. They I mean,
we looked at the facts and Tucker County is the
number one team in the state, you know, and they
are absolute great basketball players, a great basketball team. They're
very well coached, and they've accepted that. But they didn't
back down either. They're here to play and they're here
to give everything they have and they don't care how
the game goes, what the score is. They're here and
they're gonna play hard. They're gonna build some respect, They're

(06:01):
gonna put some respect to the Harmon girls name.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
So, so we were down at your place Monday night,
and Uh, I'm gonna tell you what. You have got
a really nice fan base. Your gym has always packed out.
Talk a little bit about what that means to not
only you as a coach, but the team. Uh, to
have a full house every game.

Speaker 7 (06:21):
Oh, it's it's it's incredible. The Harmon fan base. I
came three years ago and they they they adopted me,
and they really showed me what like. They they took
me in as their own. They didn't know me from nothing.
They've adopted me. Every single game they show up. The
fans are there on our bad seasons, on our good seasons,
they're there. It's it's something very it's and and a

(06:44):
lot of the fans graduated from there. They have their
whole history there, They're rooted there and now that's that's
generation and generation and generation of kids playing there. Having
the having a great fan base like that's something I
look for to every night because I know the fans.
Every good coach knows the fans at a home course
like a second coach, you know.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
So there you go, head coach, Christian Moch of harm
and more to come and the pregame show ninety four
point seven. W Elk.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
W elk Our pregame show continues on ninety four point
seven w elk Getting Ready for Harmon and Tucker County
joined by head coach Alicia mchun of Tucker County. So
here we are tournament time. What's the mindset of this
team right now?

Speaker 9 (08:37):
You know, I've been really happy with our mindset. We
went through some struggles this year. We had a girl
that had that surgery, We've battled a lot of illness,
and of course we've had an actual winner where we've
not been able to get in the gym as regularly
as we wanted to, and so we've finally been able
to get into gym pretty regularly the last couple of
weeks and we've got some really good practices in.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
You know, so obviously this is you know, your first
head year. Year is the head coach, you come in
with fourteen wins on the season, How has the team
adjusted to the way you do things in your coaching
style and your play sets.

Speaker 9 (09:10):
You know, I knew there was gonna be some adjustments,
and I'm really been happy with the way that they've
responded to me. And you know, I've really as a
season one has went on, I've amped up the intensity
of practices and they've bought into that. And I've been
really proud of them because it's hard to have a
coaching change, and it's hard to have a coaching change
after you've had a coach for a long time, and
they bought into what I've been trying to tell them.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
You know, one of the things that is always very
impressive here when we come out to Tucker County is
the fan support. This place has always packed boys game,
girls game. It doesn't matter. Talk a little bit about
what that means to you as the coach and what
it means to your players.

Speaker 9 (09:45):
You know, years ago when I played the I will
go into the community and people would know me and
I didn't know who they were. And that has continued
now and you know everywhere ago people are asking me
about different players and their contributions and the community sport
is vital. And you know when we go to the
community for fundraisers, they're always very generous. You know, we

(10:05):
have a lot of people, you know, donating money to
help you know the team and to help you know
the causes for whatever. And that support is vital to
our program.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
It is amazing. So tonight, you know, you've got a
harmon team in here. They they haven't had a great season.
They've only got six girls on the roster. So what
do what do you know about the Panthers and kind
of what's the game plan?

Speaker 9 (10:28):
You know, our our game plan is the same no
matter what we always want to try to press, we
want to try to run different defenses, and then we
adjust our offense according to what they run. Every game matters.
You know, we lost two games this year that we
couldn't remake because of weather, and so minutes are important,
and you know, our starters haven't really got to gel.
You know, we missed mckinna evans several games with an injury,

(10:50):
and you know, we miss Migros one game with illness,
and so every minute matters, and no matter the opponent,
and you know, you get to this time of year
and everyone gives the best. So it's important for us
to stick to our game plan and play as well
as we can play.

Speaker 3 (11:05):

Teams are out warming up on the court. Here the
Class of eighty four court at Tucker County High School
Single A Girls Region two Tournament first round. The number
one seed Tucker County and the number eight seed Harmon.
The winner of this one will face either East Hardy
or Tigers Valley next Wednesday night, and the winner of

(12:42):
that one on their way to the Charleston Coliseum for
the state girls high school basketball Tournament that gets underway
on March the eleventh. By the way, we will have
every game of the girls and boys high school basketball
tournament with the Metro News Radio Network Sports crew on

(13:03):
twelve forty AM and ninety nine point nine FMWDNE, with
a few exceptions. If Elkins makes the state tournament girls
or boys will carry those games on wd and E FM.
That's ninety eight nine WD and E. Philip Barber will
be on our AM station as always, and should Tigerts

(13:23):
Valley or Tucker County or both of them make it
to the state tournament, we will have those games available
on ninety four point seven w ELK as well. So
we are very excited, very happy to bring you coverage
of this game here tonight as Tucker County comes in

(13:44):
the number one overall seed under head coach Alsia mchun
in her first year. Harmon's Panthers Christian Moats the head
coach there, numbers are down, you know. I talked to
both coaches offline and we talked a little bit about
just the numbers. You know, in years past you had
a lot of student athletes coming out for various teams. Now,

(14:07):
of course they've sort of finned the field out because
they keep adding sports, which is a good thing, but
you know, you have kids that aren't able to play
one sport because they're trying to play another one, whether
it's you know, baseball, basketball, football, soccer. You know, some
of the bigger schools adding things like lacrosse and things

(14:28):
like that, tennis, so you know, only so many kids
to go around. But Tucker County has fourteen out on
the roster for the Harmon Lady Panthers. They come in
tonight with six young ladies on that roster and they
are all playing hard. I hope you had an opportunity
to hear head coach Christian Motes and his thoughts about

(14:51):
how proud he is of their effort on the season.
So let's go through the starting lineups for the Harmon
Lady Panthers. They are zero and sixteen on the season.
They will start at guard five to five freshman Jesse
Heavener at a guard Eliza Schifflett. She is a five

(15:12):
six senior Phoebe Bennett. Now excuse me, I'm looking at
the times or the grades and that is incorrect, So
forgive me for that. I do have the names right,
So let's try again. Jesse Heavener, Eliza Shiflett, Phoebe Bennett,
Kayla Mullinex and Kara Snyder. Those are the five on

(15:35):
the floor to start this game again. Jesse Heavener, Eliza Shifflett,
Phoebe Bennett, Kayla Mullinex and Kara Snyder. Morgan runs awaits
her opportunity on the bench and you will see her
quite a bit. For Tucker County, They've got quite a
few more on the roster. Let's take a look at
their starting five for head coach Alicia mchwn. Tucker County

(15:58):
with a fourteen and six record, they will go at
one guard. Five to six junior McKenna Evans averages nine
points and six rebounds a game. Five to five junior
Addie Motes gets the start at guard five points two
rebounds a game. Maya Gross She's sort of a guard

(16:19):
forward hybrid type of player. Five to eight junior, twelve
point six rebounds a game. Reagan Herron a five eight senior,
three points three rebounds a game and Raven Matthews, the
six foot senior seventeen points and eleven rebounds a game.
We have seen her over the last couple of years
from her time as a player a young player, tenth

(16:44):
grade year, eleventh grade year, just continues to get better
and better. So again for Harmon, it'll be heaven Or Shiflett, Bennett,
Mullenax and Snyder. For Tucker County Evans, Motes, Gross, Heron
and Matthews. Those are the five starters. A great crowd

(17:05):
on hand as always here at Tucker County High School,
Harmon bringing a nice crowd up as well to support
Christian Motes and his team Harmon in their road uniforms.
Those are the black jerseys with the red trim and
numbers and in white trimmed in red. Above the number

(17:27):
on the front of the jersey, it says Panthers four
Tucker County. They are in their home whites with the
black numerals trimmed in gold. It says Tucker above the
number on the front of the jersey. Starting lineups are
being introduced to e Liza shiftlet up off the bench.
There's Phoebe Bennett again the winner of this one, we'll

(17:54):
take on the winner of East Hardy and Tigers Valley,
that game tipping off in Baker in mere seconds. We'll
keep you up to date with that. Speaking of regional tournaments,
of course, the boys brackets got released yesterday and our
wv RC media sports team is going to be out
and about over the next few week. Next Friday, one
week from tonight, Round one of the boys tournaments. The

(18:18):
Elkins Tigers the two seed. They will host Grafton on
ninety eight nine WD and E. Philip Barber the sixth seed,
travels to Braxton County next Friday night on twelve forty
am in ninety nine point nine FMWDNE and here on
ninety four point seven w ELK. We will have Paul
Paul at the three seed Tigers Valley and then the

(18:42):
following week, should Elkins win, they will play on Thursday,
March thirteenth, we will have that game. Tucker County is
the one seed in the boys brackets, so they only
have to play one game to get to Charleston. That
game will be played on Wednesday, March the twelfth. We
will have that game for you and should Tiger's Valley

(19:02):
win and they will play either Pocahontas County or East
Hardy on that same night. We will have that game
for you. The Tucker County game will be over on
WD and E FM. So we've got a lot of
high school basketball coming up regional tournament wise and also
the state tournament with the Metro News Radio Network. Starting

(19:25):
lineups again being introduced right now. Evans, Motes, Gross, Matthews,
and Herron for the Mountain Lions. The Panthers will go
with heaven Or Shifflet, Bennett, Moulinex and Snyder. They are
getting ready to honor America with the playing of the
national anthem. We'll step away and do the same thing.

(19:46):
We'll be back with this opening tip off in this
Class single A Region two girls tournament basketball game Harmon
at Tucker County. It is coming up on ninety four
point seven.

The Union of the bracket, by the way, is the
one seed Tucker County, the eight seed Harmon, two seed
Pendleton County taking on the seven seed Paul Paul, three
seed Pocahontas County battling the six seed Union and the

(22:04):
four seed East Hardy the five seed at Tiger's Valley.
We are ready to play basketball. Jesse Heavener jumping against
Raven Matthews. Tip is controlled by Tucker County. They're playing
at the basket just in front of us, and just
like that, Maya Gross puts it up and in it's
two to nothing. Tucker County on top. Here is the pressure.

(22:26):
As Phoebe Bennett runs the point. She has it over
on the right wing for Harmon looking looking, drives down
the lane outside kicks it out to Mullanas. Mullins has
the ball stripped away. Turnover number one. It is the
steel lead pass out ahead, shot is up no good
for at e motes rebound Raven Matthews. She can't get

(22:46):
it to go and it is out of bounds. It'll
stay with Tucker County seven twenty three to go. In
the first quarter, two to nothing, Mountain Lions on top.
That's McKenna evans brings it in to Raven Matthews. Now
back to Evans corner. Three up good. McKenna evans knocks

(23:09):
it down from the deep left corner right in front
of us, which is where we're seated. It's five to nothing.
Tucker County on top. Bennett dribbles around on the right side.
She hasn't looking inside. There's just not much there. Goes
to the top of the key to heaven Or in
the right corner to Mullinex tried to go outside through
it off of the leg of Heavener. It is turnover

(23:32):

five to nothing, into the front court. McKenna evans comes in,
kicks it in the corner, wide open. Three from the
other side. That is Addie Motes shield dial up long distance,
make it eight to nothing Tucker County six forty two

(23:54):
to go. In the opening quarter. Heavener works with it,
works it over on the lane. Lef Dwang Bank shot
up and in for Karras Snyder and Harmon's on the board.
It's eight to two Tucker County. Mountain Lion's working around
the perimeter. Kick it back out for a three. Addie

(24:15):
Motes puts it up, no good rebound, pulled down by
the panthers of Harmon. Rebound by Karras Snyder. She gets
it into the hands of Bennett. Bennett bounce past top
of the key to heaven Or. Heavener drives into the
foul line, doesn't like it there, gets it to Molinek's
right wing. Hard bats out to heaven Or. They try
to go in the corner and threw it away. Kara

(24:37):
Snyder could not hold on to it, just a little
bit out of her reach out of bounds to Tucker County.
We've played two minutes and the Lady Mountain Lions with
an eight to two lead here in the first quarter.
McKenna evans into the front court right wing to Heron,

(24:57):
hands it off to Raven Matthews in the corner, now
driving in the elbow on the right. Shot is up.
Shot is good for McKenna Evans. It's ten to two.
Tucker County on top Harmon with the basketball. Bennett has
the ball poked away. She chases it down, manages to
corral it, gets it all the way under the basket

(25:18):
and the shot is up and rejected. Eliza Shiflet puts
the shot up and it is blocked by Raven Matthews.
Bennett to trigger it in, smacks the ball, looking looking,
comes way out high and Raven Matthew steps in front
of it, intercepts the past. Here come the mountain lies.

(25:39):
Matthews takes it herself, stops and pops from about six.
Can't get it to go, got her own rebound, turns around,
floats it up over the ram and n twelve two
Tucker County in the lead. Bennett into the front court,
works around the screen on the right side, bounce past
top of the key to heaven or Heavener back to Bennett,

(26:00):
drives down the lane, drives in. She's going to be
grabbed and fouled. Val is going to be called on

the bench along with Addie Motes looks like Emily Snyder.

(26:22):
Into the ballgame for Tucker County. We'll get the other
player that checked in in just a moment as Harmon
having trouble, Bennett has it, gets it to heaven, or
she'll float it up top of the key. Partially deflected
rebound comes down at too Tucker County lead, pass out
ahead and Sutton pace into the ballgame and she gets

Tucker County on top. Four minutes to go, opening quarter,
pass out ahead and Raven Matthews with the steel on

(28:48):
the other side. They get it ahead to McKenna evans
again and she's got another bucket. Twenty to two Tucker County,
just getting in those passing lanes. Raven Matthews six feet tall,
long arm. She plays very well at the post position
and she just stepped in front of it. Almost had

(29:08):
another one right there. Then it has it on the
left wing for Harmon, slowly dribbles to the metal, works
it to the foul line to heaven or on the
right side driving throwing up the shot. No, but drawing
the foul is Caleb Mullinex and she will go to
the free throw line. Four two foul is called on

(29:32):
Snyder number one on her second team foul of the quarter.
Free throw up. No good for Molinex. She'll get another one.
She's ready again. Shot is up with the right hand,

(29:53):
bounced around, hit every part of the rim and dropped
twenty to three, three minutes seconds to go, opening quarter,
Tucker County with the lead and the basketball. Here is
a left wing shot up four two for Maya Gross.
It's twenty three to three. Check me, that was a three.

(30:14):
So now here's Harmon on the other side working with
it in the corner to Gross. She'll just fire up
a wild shot and no, check me. That was Bennett
on the shot under pressure and into the ballgame. Is
Morgan at runs for Harmon, subs in as well as

(30:38):
Addie Motes back into the ballgame along with Reagan Herron.
Tucker County works with it into the front court. Is
he Kitts Miller in as well. They work it in
to her. She'll fire it up from the free throw line.
It will not go and the rebound fought for and
controlled by the Harmon Panthers in the front court. Is

(31:01):
heaven Or works with it right wing. They'll hand it
off to Bennett. Bennett drives the baseline float or shot
up no good, little too strong, but the rebound comes
down to Harmon. Now a fight for the basketball gets
knocked out of bounds and it will stay with Harmon
to twenty six to go opening quarter, twenty three to three,

(31:23):
Chucker County on top here at home, Harmon looks bring
it in on the baseline to molinex bounce pass stolen away,
another turnover against Harmon. Lead, pass out ahead, driving in
under the basket, shot is up, shot is good for
Addie Moats twenty five to three Tucker County's lead. Bennett

(31:49):
floats it to Heaven or top of the key, and
she is going to be grabbed and fouled a little
too aggressive on the defense there for kIPS Miller. That'll
be her first third team foul. So it'll stay with Harmon.
They inbounded at mid court, almost stolen away. In fact,

(32:11):
it is stolen away. Adie Mote stepped in front of it,
knocked it off of the hands of Heaven or out
of bounds. Turn over number ten against Harmon, and Tucker
County takes the ball with two minutes to go in
the opening, Corter leading twenty five to three. In the corner,
they go to pace. She's got to pull the trigger
on a three in and out, no good rebound pulled

(32:32):
down by Tucker County and we've got a foul on
the floor. I think that is going to go against
Jesse Heavener. That'll be her first on the rebound. Note
check me, that's Kara Snyder called on the foul and
Tucker County will bring it in out of their own basket.
Official ask the young lady to get her shirt. Tuck

(32:52):
ten in bounds. Play comes in to Emily Snyder. She'll
work it in the corner on the right side. Here
is a three up, no good for pace rebound pulled
down by Emily Snyder. It won't go rebound down to
Harmon their fifth pass ahead to heaven Or. She was
wide open, just turned and fired the basketball. Actually had

(33:16):
a lane to drive the basket, and I think she
didn't realize how open she was. Fired the shot up,
missed it, it goes out of bounds. Tucker County takes
back over working it underneath. Nice job by heaven Or
to knock it out of bounds, prevent the easy layup.

(33:38):
As Tucker County retains possession, look to bring it in.
They will float it in. Shot is up, no good
and then a foul on the rebound. Kits Miller fired
the shot up rebound pulled down by Emily Snyder. She
is fouled and she was fouled on her way back
up to the basket. So with a minute in seventeen seconds,

(34:00):
we'll get free throws. Here Kara Snyder to the bench
for Harmon. No, it's not free throws. I'm sorry. It
is inbound common foul. Now from the corner on the
right side, Addie Motz puts up a three, no rebound,
pulled down by Reagan Heron, and she's fouled on her
way back to the basket. This time it's going to

(34:23):
be free throws. So here we go for Tucker County.
Free throw up, No good, too strong off the back
of the iron for Reagan Heron. Excuse me, it's trying

(34:43):
to get her number. She's a forty percent free throw
shooter on the season. She'll make the second one, twenty
six to three. With a minute to go in the
opening quarter. Into the front court, they go to Heaven
or Heaven are lost a handle on the basketball. It
is a two over long pass out ahead, saved inbound

(35:03):
by Modes. Quick pass over on the left side to pace.
She'll put it up. It won't go rebound to Tucker County.
They'll reset the offense. Here comes Addie Motes driving the baseline,
stopping and popping from ten feet away, and she'll put
it in twenty eight to three, forty seconds to go.
Opening quarter. Another steel ball poked away from Bennett, driving,

(35:26):
shooting and scoring his pace. She took it herself from
the steel to the layup, thirty to three, Tucker County
on top. Bennett picks up her drivel back near mid court.
She is in trouble, floats it on the left side
to ruins. They work it down. Shot is up bank,
shot in nice shot by Kaylen Mullinex, and she will score.

(35:50):
Thirty to five. Tucker County on top. They have the
basketball as time expires. Here a two point shot is
up and good four kits Miller and that'll take us
to the end of the first quarter. Thirty two to
five Tucker County on top of Harmon. We're back in
sixty seconds on ninety four point seven. W ELK, If

(36:13):
winning was easy, everyone would do it.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
Back here at Tucker County, Lady Mountain Lions lead Harmon
thirty two to five in this round one game of
the regional tournament. Athletic Director where at Tiger's Valley Amanda
Bell just texted me the score at the end of
the first quarter. Up in Baker East, Hardy leads Tiger's
Valley six to two, six to two. That is the score.

(37:42):
Now on the other side, here is Harmon driving in,
putting up the shot is Mullineck's too strong rebound pulled
down by Tucker County. Lead passes out ahead to Maya Gross.
She'll drive and lay it in for her seventh point.
It's thirty four to five. Tucker County dominating. Now here's
Bennett drives in, floats it up. Shot is partially deflected

(38:07):
and then pulled down by Raven Matthews. She'll drive the
lane for Tucker County, put it up and put it in.
Thirty six to five. Tucker County leads. Second quarter action,
we've played a minute. In the corner, they go to Mulinex.
Moulinex picks up the drivel bounce pass in the corner

(38:29):
to Bennett underneath the basket. Shot is up by Eliza Shifflet. No,
but she is going to be fouled by Raven Matthews
and she'll get free throws. Eliza Shifflet at the line,
puts the shot up and too strong off the back

(38:51):
of the iron. No good subs into the ballgame ruins
to a break. Cara Snyder back in as Eliza Shifflet
ready for free throw number two off the side of
the iron. No good rebound pulled down by Tucker County

(39:11):
thirty six to five of our score. Here as Courtney
Schaeffer into the ballgame. Now for Tucker County, it looks
like they might go into a little bit of a
slow down offense and then they kick it over on
the right side. Peyton Hicks will pull the trigger on
a three and she will knock it down. Thirty nine

(39:34):
to five is the score. Pass intercepted again, another turnover
by Harmon Raven Matthews picks it off like a defensive
back in the secondary and they will reset the offense.
Schaefer works with it, brings it out to Addie Moots
on the right side. They go to Maya Gross in
the corner to Shaeffer. Shaefer kicks the ball over to Hicks.

(39:57):
Tried to go underneath. That is a turnover, the first
one one of the night against Tucker County. Pass intercepted
and then McKenna Evans will reach in and foul Phoebe
Bennett Evans first team's second Tucker County leads thirty nine

(40:18):
to five with six oh six to go until halftime.
Inbound pass is intercepted and stolen away. Another steal by
Tucker County. I've got him for seven on the left wing,
working with it as Hicks goes in the corner. Now
she'll dribble out, go to the top of the key
to Motes, hand it off back to Hicks. As Tucker

(40:39):
County just kind of working around the outer perimeter. McKenna
evans drives in seventeen footer up off the rim, no good,
and the rebound pulled down by Harmon. They get it
into their hand, the hands of their point guard Phoebe
Bennett into the front court. She goes and the ball
is kicked. Tucker County's kind of diagnosed the off defensive

(41:00):
game plan of harm And they want to bring it
up the court. Work it to the top of the
key to heaven Or and they are now covering that.
Now they work it in the corner. Here is a
quick shot up no good for Kara Snyder. Rebound pulled
down by Tucker County. McKenna evans jogs into the front court,
pushes it over on the left wing back to Evans

(41:20):
as she cycled through to the corner. Now on the
right wing, it's Hicks. Back to Raven Matthew's top of
the key. As they try to work it underneath, that's Schaefer.
She's double teamed, and now they work it to Raven
Matthews and she is going to be fouled on the floor.
Foul is called on Kara's Snyder number two. On miss Snyder,
they say it's on the floor, so it will stay

(41:43):
with Tucker County. Evans to trigger it in under her
own basket, looking looking, floats it into Matthews got position
shot up, no, but she is going to be fouled
by Jesse Heavener and Raven Matthews will go to the
free throw line. Matthew's a sixty four percent free throw shooter.

(42:08):
First one up, swish five zero, one to go until halftime.
Forty to five coming up. At halftime, we'll recap the
first half, gets you Metro News, sports and statistics and more.
Second free throw no good and then on the rebound
pulled down by Harmon, foul is called on Tucker County.

(42:33):
That one is going to go against Schaefer. That'll be
her first courtney Schaeffer picks up the foul, gives the
ball back to the Panthers. Phoebe Bennett into the front court,
works around the screen, splits a double team, kicks it
in the corner to Molinex. She's trapped there, gets it
to Bennett, floats it out to heaven Or back to Malinex.

(42:54):
Bounce past back to heaven Or, floats it over to
Kara Snyder. Snyder traveled with the basketball sixteen turnovers in
the first quarter and a half against Harmon and Tucker
County dominating here leading forty to five. McKenna Evans comes

(43:15):
into the front court on the right wing, works it
to Maya Gross in the corner to McKenna Evans, back
out to Gross, cross court, passed to Hicks on the
left wing. Tried to go underneath and the ball is
stolen away and then taken right back by Raven Matthews.
Back to back turnovers, push pass in the corner, it'll
go out of bounds to Tucker County, last touching heaven

(43:35):
Or under the basket. Good job by Jesse Heavenor of
Harmon got back on defense after the turnover and got
into the passing lane. Managed to knock the ball away
in bounce. Play comes into Raven Matthews catches, shoots, she
can't get it to go, and we've got an injury

(43:57):
on the floor and a foul is called as it
looks like Kara Snyder hard to the floor right in
front of me and happened our broadcast location here at
Tucker County. We are actually floor level on the corner,
on the opposite side of the scorer's table, and young

(44:17):
Kara Snyder went down, her face hit the floor. She
seems to be okay, but boy, she took a hard fall.
Here's heaven or now top of the key, bounced past
to Phebe Bennett working in the corner to Molinex. Mullinex
runs it down, fires the shot up, it will not go.
Rebound pulled down by Harmon. Lee pass out ahead, driving

(44:38):
in shot is up no good, too strong for Hicks
and the rebound pulled down by Harmon. Harmon. With the
basketball trailing forty to five here in the opening half,
they've got a trap in the corner and the ball
knocked out of bounds. It'll stay with Harmon. Maddie into

(45:00):
the ballgame now for Tucker County along with Peyton Cross
three twenty nine to go. Steal on the inbounds lead,
pass out ahead to Maya Gross. She'll drive, she'll shoot,
She'll score. Forty two to five, Tucker County's lead. They

(45:24):
have forced eighteen turnovers. Now here's Harmon with the basketball.
Shot is up, Malnack's too strong off the glass, good
look at it, couldn't get it to fall and the
rebound pulled down by Tucker County. Mountain Lions work into
the front court. Evans has it, dribbles around top of
the key to Raven Matthews to the near side, back

(45:46):
to Matthews, given go, floats it up from the foul line,
can't get it to go, got her own rebound, back
up and in Raven Matthews. Seven points on the night,
It's forty four to five Tucker County. On top of Harmon.
Phoebe Bennett goes in the corner pass intercepted again, another

(46:07):
steal by Raven Matthews. She's gonna take it herself. Coast
to coast drive, shoot, score forty six to five Tucker
County's lead with two twenty to go. Here in this
opening half, Harmon with the basketball tried to work it
underneath the heaven Or. She's got it at the foul

(46:27):
line in a double team. Ball just taken right out
of her hands by McKenna Evans. Nine steals, twenty turnovers.
Nine steals for Tucker, twenty turnovers for Harmon. Working it
on the right side is Matty Helmick. Now they go
in the corner to cross back out to Helmick. Helmick

(46:49):
floating it inside to Raven Matthews working against heaven Or
on a double team turned shoot score. She's got eleven.
It's forty eight to five. Harmon has not scored in
the second quarter. With a minute thirty five to go,
there is a three up from the left wing for

(47:09):
Morgan Ruins. It misses, the mark goes out of bounds,
it'll be Tucker County Basketball Mountain Lion's liberally substituting here
Snyder back in along with Cross, Matty Helmick in, Reagan Herron,

(47:30):
and now Addie Moates will run the point. They go
to Heron. Now they work it in the corner to
cross back out to heron, cross court to Maddie Helmick.
Helmet comes to the near side, and then they put
it in the corner. Working around the perimeter again minute
ten to go, opening half, forty eight to five, Tucker
County on top. Bounce pass out to Addie Motes. Addie

(47:51):
Motes on the right wing, watched there by Bennett goes
to Herron on the left side. Now they go in
the corner to Snyder. Now here is the quick catch
and release up and no good for Heron. Rebound by
Maddy Helmet and she lays it up and in. It's
fifty to five Tucker County on top again. Harmon has

(48:16):
not scored here in the second quarter, there's Phoebe Bennett
putting up a three. It won't go rebound down to
Tucker County. Mountain Lions into the front court Reagan Herron
on the right side to Maddy Helmet. Helmeck looking goes
to the top of the key to cross as they
work it around the perimeter. Twenty four seconds to go
in the quarter, here's Herron driving in steps inside and

(48:38):
she traveled with it. Only the fourth turnover unofficially of
the first half. Here for Tucker County. Harmon, with seventeen
seconds left until halftime, has a chance to try to
get some points. Here in the corner left side, they
go to Megan room. Morgan runs ruins, works it underneath

(48:59):
and it stolen away. Another turnover, another steal. Tucker County
just getting into the lanes. Now here's helmets. She's gonna
fire up a right wing free in and out. It
won't fall, and we are at halftime. Tucker County has
obviously dominated here in the first half. They have a

(49:21):
fifty to five lead. By the way they are at
halftime in Baker, a little more offense in the second quarter.
East Hardy nineteen Tiger's Valley fourteen. That game at the half.
Thank you to the athletic director at Tiger's Valley, Amandebel,

I'm Sjoe Bricado. This is an off day for the
WVU football team in the middle of their first week
of spring practice. The Mountaineers return of the practice field tomorrow.
Nico Markiel was the incumbent returner in wvu's room of quarterbacks.
He made a pair of starts last year and won
games at Arizona and at Cincinnati. Head coach Rich Rodriguez
says the room of seven signal callers has shown promise.

Speaker 15 (53:23):
Yeah, I thought the progress of the quarterbacks has been
good to see. We've got three quarterbacks that have taken
reps or started Division one football games, and then we've
got a couple talented freshmen at quarterbacks. So I think
that that room has showed pretty good progress. And again
there's everything's all new to them, so it's second practice,
so they did a good job getting there.

Welcome back to Tucker County High School, where the Mountain
Lions have a fifty to five lead at the half
over the Harmon Lady Panthers team and individual statistics. It
was a rough first half for Harmon, particularly the second quarter.
As a team, Harmon two out of sixteen from the floor,

(57:29):
including of two from three point range, one of two
from the free throw line. So if you do the math,
and I'm terrible at math, as everybody knows, that's thirteen percent.
Two out of sixteen rebounds nine for Harmon, sixteen for

(57:49):
Tucker County. Turnovers twenty one turnovers for Christian Mote Squad
here tonight, only four for Tucker County. Harmon has not
stolen the ball away. Tucker County has stolen it ten times.
For of the Lady Mountain Lions, they are shooting fifty

(58:10):
four percent from the floor. They are twenty two of
forty one. That includes four out of nine from three
point range. Evans, Motes, Gross and Hicks all hitting threes
fifty percent of the free throw line two out of four.
Led in scoring by McKenna, Evans and Raven Matthews. They

(58:31):
have eleven apiece, nine points for Maya Gross, seven points
for at E Motes, four points for Sutton Pace. As
we continue to roll through these statistics, three points for
Peyton Hicks, two points for Maddie Helmck and for Izzy

(59:01):
kitch Miller, one point for Reagan Herron, Peyton, Cross, Courtney Schaeffer,
and Emily Snyder have all played but have not scored
for Tucker County. Harmon, by the way, led by Kayla
Molinex with three points two points for Kara Snyder. Fifty

(59:26):
to five is the score Tucker County on Tom. Tucker
County will now be playing at the basket away from us.
Harmon will be attacking the basket directly in front of us.
Tucker County will get the ball to start the quarter.
It's going to be kitch Miller running the point. She

(59:50):
has it now in the corner, looking looking, brings it
way out high to Maddie Hellmic. They come on the
left wing to Hicks. Hicks has it in the left
corner to Ma to Helmet, who worked her way through
the lane. She'll drive the baseline. She stops, she's cut
off there, brings it back out high to Cross on
the right side to kitz Miller, back out to Maddie

(01:00:10):
Helmick and looks like Tucker County in a slow down offense,
just looking for a great shot in the corner. There
it is. Hicks puts the shot up, it will not
go and the rebound down to Harmon, back to Hicks.
She'll float it up again still can't get it to
go and the rebound pulled down by the panthers of Harmon.

(01:00:32):
Phoebe Bennett into the front court, quickly works with it
between the circles, picks up her dribble, bounce past to
the top of the key to heaven or Heavener looking
back to Bennett tried to give and go in and
out of the hands of Karas Snyder. It will be
turnover number twenty two of the night against Harmon. Kits

(01:00:58):
Miller running the point now where Tucker County looks like
the starters Evans, moch Gross, Matthews and Heron probably on
the bench for the remainder of the game. It's been
a dominating performance by Tucker County. We've played a minute
and a half here in the third quarter and they
have a forty five point lead. Patience on offense is

(01:01:21):
what we're seeing out of Tucker County at the moment.
Kits Miller has it is. He drives the baseline, floats
at the Cross, Cross drives in. Shot is up shot,
I believe is good it is and Cross will go
to the line. Peyton Cross, a freshman fifty percent free

(01:01:42):
throw shooter on the season. Foul is called on heaven Or.
That's two on her free throw by cross up and good,
fifty three to five. Tucker County will obviously advance. They
await the winner of East and Tiger's Valley that game
at the half with East Hardy leading by five over

(01:02:05):
the Bulldogs into the corner, goes Harmon. Now they have
to work it back out as they're cut off their
Bennett drifts over here to the near side, looking bounce
past to Heaven or heaven Or holds the ball, dribbles
one time, then has to get it back to Bennett.
Bennett has the ball poked stolen away. It is Kitts

(01:02:27):
Miller on the steel. She'll take it over to the
deep right corner. She'll pull the trigger. She will knock
it down from three point range fifty six to five.
Tucker County's lead. Now on the other side, top of
the key, they go to Bennett, work it down to

(01:02:48):
shiftlet shiftlet been quiet here on offense. They get it
to Bennett. Here is the runner and it is no good.
Excuse me, that was Mullinex on the runner. No good
rebound pulled down by Tucker County Lady Mountain Lions working
with it in the corner. Is he kits Miller floats
it underneath, It's poked away by heaven Or and she

(01:03:10):
knocked it back out to kitch Miller, who tried to
throw it back in again, and Heavener knocked it out.
Fifty six to five is the score Tucker County on top.
They have the basketball. Work it to kits Miller right wing,
three in and out. Tough luck miss this time for

(01:03:32):
kits Miller. Rebound pulled down by Harmon. Outlet pass comes
to Phoebe Bennett, drifts into the front court, gets it
to heaven Or. She'll turn top of the key, put
it up off the glass. It won't fall, and the
rebound comes down to Tucker County. And I said top
of the glass. The top of the rim is what

(01:03:53):
I meant, the top of the glass. That's a little
high right waying kits Miller has it for Tucker County.
They lead by fifty one. Here with four and a
half to go. Here is the give and go, driving
right down the lane. Nice shot by is he kits Miller.
She will lay it in the five to five freshmen
averages two points a game. She's got seven here tonight

(01:04:15):
now on the other side, we have a tie up
at mid core, a couple of players tying up heaven
or at the foul line. Possession arrow will stay this way,
so sort of what I would call a hockey line
change is people coming in and out and I'm gonna apologize.
We've got a young lady for Tucker County wearing number fifteen,

(01:04:38):
and I do not have her name, but I will
have it for you here. Shortly bounce pass in the corner,
they go to heaven or and out of the hands
of Heaven or another turnover, lead pass out ahead to
the aforementioned number fifteen, and she is bumped and fouled.

(01:05:00):
Is gonna go, I believe against Caleb Mulnax, that is yeah,
and first night, you know, apologize for that. The scorer's
table is a long way over there. I think that
goes against Snyder. That's her third, which means Rooms back
into the game. Now on the left side. Shot is

(01:05:23):
up and the shot is good for Addie Motes from
three sixty one fifty five Tucker County on top. Harmon
has not scored since the first quarter. We've got three
forty to go in the third. Bennett backing in backing

(01:05:44):
in bounce past to heaven or a little low pass
is stolen away, another steal, another turnover coming the other way,
driving all the way to the basket, laying it up
no good. As Emily Snyder pulls down the rebound, works
it out to Addie Motes. She'll pull the trigger on
a three. It won't go and the rebound knocked out
of bounds by Tucker County three nineteen to go in

(01:06:11):
the third quarter sixty one to five Tucker County. On
top of Harmon and Phoebe Bennett driving down the lane,
she is grabbed and foul. That foul is gonna go
against Sutton Pace or no, check me on that that'll
go against Addie Modes. And that's number three on Addie
Common foul. They bring it in to Ruins Runs, has

(01:06:34):
the ball stolen away by heron Heron, takes it into
the front court, sets up the offense for the Mountain Lives.
They work it on the right wing. Here is a
shot up no good from the right side by Sutton
Pace and on the rebound a foul on Harmon Common

(01:06:56):
foul on the floor. That is the third against the visitor.
Also the third against Jesse Heavener. So Harmon getting into
foul trouble and they only have six players on the roster.
Now here is a three from the corner. The shot
is up and no good by Herron, and the rebound

(01:07:17):
pulled down by Tucker County left side three on the
way Reagan Herron can't get it to go again, a rebound,
a tie up possession. Arro gives it to Harmon to
thirty seven. Here in the third quarter, sixty one to five,

(01:07:39):
Tucker County on top. That defense by the Mountain Lions
has not allowed Harmon to score in a quarter and
almost two quarters. There is another turnover against Harmon, another
steal for the Mountain Lions. Fifteen steals for that Tucker
County defense. Working with it in the corner to Reagan Herron.

(01:08:01):
Heron drifts out, works with it in the corner. They come.
Now they get it down to Addie Motes. She'll drive in,
float it up from about fifteen feet away. It will
not go rebound, run down, out, high and picked up
and traveled is Emily Snyder. She pulled down the rebound
over near the sideline and hopped on one foot about

(01:08:23):
three times, so a minute under two minutes to go.
Excuse me here in the third quarter, it's sixty one
to five. Tucker County has been very patient on of offense,
and they'll knock the ball away. It's Emily Snyder pokes
it away out of bounds off of Christian Moats as

(01:08:45):
they tried to get it to Eliza shifflet Phoebe Bennett
to bring it in. Thennittt look looks, floats it to
heaven Or at the foul line. She'll put up the shot.
It won't go rebound, pulled down by Harmon and Heavener
got the pass off the rebound from runs and she

(01:09:07):
took a few too many steps. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. That
is the story of the game for this Harmon team.
Bounce pass on the right side for Sutton, pace for
Tucker County, between the circles to Addie Motes. They work
it down on the low post. Reagan Heron puts it
up with the left hand and she will score. Reagan Heron,

(01:09:30):
her third point of the night, makes it sixty three
to five, Tucker County in the lead. Bennett drifts over
looking for somewhere to go with the basketball, goes in
the corner fans are screaming at Eliza shiftlet to shoot
the ball. She's just not ready for it. Now on
the other side, here's Mullinex splits a double team, throws

(01:09:51):
it up, no good rebound, pulled down by Tucker County.
Pass out ahead to we'll get her name coming up
number fifteen, and we do apologize she was not on
the roster that we receive, but we will get her
name because we want to give credit to everybody that

(01:10:11):
is playing the game. Ball is out of bounds. It
comes in to Addie Motes of Tucker County with forty
seven seconds to go. Back to number fifteen. Her shot
is blocked out of bounds. It stays with Tucker County
forty four seconds to go. Actually, she was fouled on

(01:10:33):
her way to the shot. She'll get a couple of
free throws, three dribbles, aims, fires, bounces it off the glass.
It won't go. Another one coming ready to go up.

(01:10:56):
No good rebound, though, tipped and saved by Zucker County
with forty seconds to go. Back out to Addie Motes
to heron underneath the basket, chee, We'll put it up
an end from five feet away. Sixty five to five.
Tucker County is outscored Harmon here ten to nothing in

(01:11:18):
the third quarter, but they've been very patient on offense.
Shiftlet has it in the corner. Bounce pass out here
is the runner up off glass. It is no good
for Mulneck's rebound pulled down by Heaven or Heaven or
Back's End's not there. She'll get it to Bennett. Bennett'll
fire up a three from the right corner. No, and
then a foul on the rebound. No, it's knocked out

(01:11:39):
of bounds. It'll go to Tucker County with five seconds
in the quarter. In bounds, play comes to Addie Motes
in the corner. It'll go shot is up at the
buzzer and good for Sutton pace and that'll take us
to the end of the third core sixty seven to

(01:12:01):
five Tucker County. We'll be back in sixty seconds on

Speaker 3 (01:13:20):
We get ready to start the fourth quarter here at
Tucker County and the Tucker County Mountain Lions have a
sixty seven to five lead here as we go in
to the fourth quarter. By the way, we got the
young lady identified number fifteen for the Lady Mountain Lions

(01:13:40):
is Keisha Arnold. So now we have her name and
we can properly I identify her. Pretty happy about that.
Harmon starts the fourth quarter. She stepped on the baseline.
You could see it right here, that dribbled into the corner,
got trapped and then trying to get out of it.
It is another turnover twenty nine for Harmon. Here in

(01:14:05):
the fourth quarter, Alicia McCune slowed her team down on offense.
Got a lot of the younger players in there. Good
to get that tournament experience. As they work it in
the corner. Kits Miller passes it to Peyton, cross cross
back out to Izzy. Kits Miller tried to go underneath ball,

(01:14:26):
poked around, violing around and stolen away the first turnover
in the second half against Tucker County. Second steal of
the night for Harmon. Now on the other side, tried
to float it out and Ruins throws it away and
it's intercepted and then a foul is called. That fowl

(01:14:49):
is going to go against Morgan Ruins. Her first teams
first Tucker County with the basketball iszy kitz Miller works
at two Hicks on the right side. Doctor kits Miller
on the wing, works around the defense, works it up underneath.
They'll bring it back out. Kits Miller cross court, pass

(01:15:09):
left side to Hicks. Hicks fakes it, drives in, shot up,
and they called three seconds only the seventh turnover against
Tucker County. Three seconds is the call. As Courtney Schaeffer
found that she really liked to be I'm in the paint.
I think she just got distracted and stayed there a

(01:15:31):
little too long. So Harmon with the basketball. Heavener gets it,
fires it up off the front of the rim. No good.
She's getting closer every time she puts it up. Got
to keep shooting for the confidence in the rebound pulled
down by Tucker County. They working underneath on the low post.
Shot is up. Shot is good for Courtney's Shaffer. Sixty

(01:15:53):
nine to five is our score. By the way, update
from Tiger's Valley end of the third quarter. East Hardy
thirty five, Tigers Valley twenty five. Winner of that game.
We'll be here next Wednesday. We'll have it for you
on ninety four point seven w E l K Tucker

(01:16:14):
County with the basketball in bounds, comes into Kitts Miller
and she will drive all the way down and lay
it up seventy one to five. Harman into the front court,
still playing hard. Phoebe Bennett dribbles into the corner, picks
up her dribble, goes to Heaven or she'll fire it
up elbow extended right. It will not go and out

(01:16:36):
of bounds. It'll go to Tucker County. Peyton Hicks gets
it in to Izzy kits Miller. Kitz Miller a freshman,
Hicks a sophomore. They work it on the left side
to Mattie Helmick, the junior. Helmick has it on the
left wing, working push pass over to Hicks. Helmick runs

(01:16:58):
all the way through, takes the pass in the corner.
She'll fire it up from the right side in an
ol tough luck mess and the rebound down to Tucker County.
A fight for it. Underneath working to the basket is
Courtney Shaeffer. No, but she is going to be fouled.

(01:17:18):
Two shots on the way for Courtney Schaeffer, the sophomore,
a sixty percent free throw shooter on the season, averages
three and a half points a game. She's at the line,
positions the ball the way she likes it, puts it
up an end. Five eleven to go in this one,

(01:17:43):
it has been all Tucker County seventy two to five.
They lead. Second free throw got them five eleven to go.
In this one, Harmon with the basketball trailing seventy three
to five. Into the front court comes Harmon. Bounce past

(01:18:05):
to the foul line. Heaven Is gonna float it up.
Another tough luck miss for Jesse Heavner and the rebound
knocked around, saved in bounds by Tucker County goes into
the hands of Matty Helmick into the front court, works
it to Peyton Hicks on the right side in the
corner to Matty Helmick pulls the trigger on a three.
It will not go, and the rebound down to Tucker County.

(01:18:29):
They'll kick it in the left corner to kits Miller.
She'll fire up at three. It won't go. Another rebound
for Tucker County. Mountain lines to reset. They work it
underneath the Schaefer Schaffer goes to the basket, noop, and
the rebound knocked out of bounds, going to Harmon four
minutes twenty six seconds to go in this one, it

(01:18:51):
is all Tucker County seventy three to five. Harmon scored
five points in the opening quarter, has not scored since.
And there is another turnover as Phoebe Bennett picked up
her foot and then put it back down again. That's traffic.
Peyton Hicks for Tucker County brings it into the front

(01:19:13):
court as the Mountain Lions run the offense. Schaefer to
Maddie Helmick looking underneath, It's not there. She'll come on
the left side working with the basketball. Is Tucker County
working it around the outer perimeter. Here is a left
wing three up for Peyton Hicks. It will not go rebound.
Pulled down by Harmon Bennett into the front court to

(01:19:34):
heaven Or. She turns fires it up from the foul line,
in and out. Another tough luck miss for poor Jesse Heavener.
That young lady has put the ball up eight times
tonight and it has bounced all over the place. A
hockey line change for Tucker County. Five in, five out

(01:19:57):
and the ball is stolen away. Fine Addie Moats for
Tucker County. They get it out ahead to Keisha Arnold,
Arnold works underneath, brings it out high works it on
the right wing. Shot is up from about fifteen feet
away for Sutton Pace. It won't go on the rebound.

(01:20:17):
We've got to tie up and it'll stay with the
Mountain Lions. With three twenty three to go, Arnold to
trigger it in bounce pass comes into the corner as
they work it around the perimeter. That's Sutton pace pace.
As it goes to Moats, Moats between the circles working
with it, thought about a three. It's not there now,

(01:20:39):
she'll work it over on the left side to heron.
They'll give it to Keisha Arnold. Arnold brings it out
to Addie Moats. Moats drives into the foul line, pushes
it around as they just work it around the perimeter.
With under three minutes to go, Tucker County absolutely no
hurry to shoot the ball. And now they work it
underneath and Heaven steals it away. She stepped in front

(01:21:02):
of it, got the steal and she's gonna be grabbed
from behind and foul. Looks like the fowl's gonna be on.
Emily's Snyder Common foul and Harmon to inbound only the
ninth turnover of the night against Tucker County. Into the

(01:21:22):
front court is Bennett. Bennett looks, gets it to Heaven
or Heavener back to Bennett. She'll reset the offense. As
she drifts over to the left side. She's looking looking.
They've got heaven Or double teamed. They try to get
it to her and the ball is taken away. It's
another steal. Here is Tucker County on a runout Sutton

(01:21:43):
Pace drive shoot scores and she's foul. Basket will count,
She'll get a bonus. I'm not sure who the foul
is gonna go against, maybe Karas Snyder. And if it is, yeah,
Kara Snyder has just fouled out of the game. So

(01:22:05):
for the last two minutes twenty seconds, Morgan ruins, we'll
be there. Free throw is up and switched in for
Sutton Pace. Seventy six to five, approaching two minutes to go,
and this one, Tucker County will advance to the next round.
Wednesday night, They'll face the winner of East Hardy and

(01:22:26):
Tigers Valley for a chance to go to Charleston for
the state tournament. Bennett works around the screen, bounce past
too hard for heaven her. But it goes into the
hands of Shiftlet and she goes hard to the floor
and she's going to be foul. That foul called on
Emily Snyder, and Snyder picks up number two two team

(01:22:51):
fouls each year. In the corner in bounds play comes
in quickly to Sny or Shiftlet. Rather, she'll fow it up.
It won't go rebound, controlled by Tucker County. Quick pass
up underneath the basket. Keisha Arnold can't get it to
go rebound. Fought for controlled by Harmon. That's Kayla Mullinex.

(01:23:13):
She has it coming into the front court. Is Phoebe Bennett.
We've got ninety seconds to go in the ball game.
Bennett comes on the near side, ball is stolen away
by hair and hair and drive shoots. No, she can't
get it to fall rebound, controlled by the Mountain Lions.
And then on the drive to the basket, it's either

(01:23:35):
a foul or the ball was out of bounds. No,
it is out of bounds. Keisha Arnold could not hold
on to it underneath the basket. Turnover number ten against
Tucker County, thirty four for Harmon. That gives you any
indication of the struggles that the Panthers have had here tonight.
Now here's Mulinek. She drives, splits a double team, puts

(01:23:58):
the shot up, can't get it to go. You'll get
a couple of free throws. With a minute seven seconds
to go, foul is called on Emily Snyder. That is
number three on her free throw up and Mulnex left
it short. Another one coming seventy six to five. Sean

(01:24:26):
is up back of the iron. No good rebound pulled
down by Arnold. She'll bring it into the front court quickly,
picked up there on the dribble. They give it to
heron heron directing traffic. Under a minute to go, Tucker
County leading seventy six to five. Heron has it left
side to Motes. They get it to Keisha Arnold. She'll

(01:24:46):
fire it up quickly. It won't fall. Rebound comes down
to the Harmon Panthers. Bennett jogs into the front court.
They set the offense. Molinax has it. She's just gonna
pull the trigger from seventeen. She'll back it in seventy
six to eighth. That was a three for Mullinex. Makes

(01:25:12):
the score twenty or seventy six to eight and a
turnover by Tucker County Harmon into the front court, working
with the basketball. Twenty seconds to go, bounce past to
Heaven or they work it to Shiftlet Shiflet back out
high to Mullinex to Bennett. She'll pull the trigger on
a three in and out. No good, but a foul

(01:25:34):
on the rebound over the back of Shiflet went up
to pull the board down and she will be fouled.
With eight seconds to go, foul called on miss Emily's Snyder.
She's got four Harmon to inbound it. With eight seconds
to go. They get it in. Shot is up by Shiflet.
It won't go, check me heaven or it won't go.

(01:25:56):
A tie up on the rebound gives it back to
Harmon with four seconds to go. Demmitt looks, works it in,
kicks it out to Malinex. Malinex turns and fires at
the buzzer. It will not go. And that is the ballgame.
The final score Tucker County seventy six, Harmon eighth. We'll

(01:26:21):
step away for a few minutes while we tabulate statistics,
and we'll be back with the postgame show. Tucker County
advances here tonight, defeating harmon seventy six to eight. On
ninety four point seven, weok.

Well, you know you kind of knew that it was
in favor of Tucker County, the number one team in
the state of West Virginia in single eight girls basketball. Harmon,
that's a tough drawl the first round, and that defense
absolutely show a Tucker County gets the win here tonight

(01:29:02):
by a final score of seventy six to eight. Let's
get inside of the numbers. First of all, the comparison
between the two teams rebounding sixteen for Harmon, thirty six
for Tucker County. So Harmon out rebounded by twenty thirty

(01:29:26):
four turnovers versus eleven sixteen excuse me, sixteen steals for
Tucker County to three for Harmon. So really you can
talk about the defense that really was a big part
of this game. Harmon just not able to get any
shots off tonight. The Panthers three out of thirty three

(01:29:48):
from the floor, that's right around ten percent, one out
of five from three point range, one out of four
at the free throw line. Kayleb Mullinex with six points,
Karras Snyder with two, Jesse Heavener, Eliza Schifflet, Phoebe Bennett,
and Morgan Runs all played but did not score. Let's

(01:30:08):
take a look at the numbers for Tucker County. They
shot forty four percent from the floor. That's seven thirty
two out of seventy three, six out of nineteen from
three point range, six out of ten from the free
throw line that is sixty percent. They were led in
scoring by McKenna Evans and Raven Matthews with eleven points apiece.

(01:30:30):
Maya Gross Sutton pace is he kits Miller they had
nine points apiece. Addie Motes had ten. Let's see five
points for Reagan Herron, four points for Courtney Schaeffer, three
points for Peyton Hicks and Peyton Cross, two points for
Matty Helmick, Keisha Arnold and Emily Snyder both played but

(01:30:53):
did not score. So it was quite frankly a dominating
performance by the Tucker County Mountain Lion. So we will
do it again coming up on Wednesday night. We'll be
