Valley High School, Webber Walmsley Court getting ready for some
single a basketball action between the Tiger's Valley Bulldogs with
a record of twelve and seven and the number two
team and the state, the Tucker County Mountain Lions with
a record of seventeen and two. These two teams met

a couple of months ago, back on December the twentieth
over in Hamilton and Tucker County got.

A seventy seven to forty seven win.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Bulldogs coming off a couple of games they split, they
won Monday night over in Harmon, and then on Tuesday
night they went up to Petersburg and stumbled a little
bit up there, fell to the Vikings. So the Bulldogs
do end up at twelve and seven right now with
tonight's game, and then they wrap up the season against

South Harrison. So the seedings are out for the boys
regional tournament. The brackets for the girls have been out
about a week. The boys brackets came out today. You
can check those out at Wvmetronews dot com. They do
have the brackets posted. But here's what we're looking at
for the teams that we cover here with WVRC Media

of Elkins. Again, this is the boys bracket that starts
next Friday night on March the seventh. So in Triple A,
Elkins is the two seed. They will host Grafton on
Friday night, March the seventh, should they win that one,
and they will advance to the second round of the

regional tournament. They will take on the winner of North
Marion and weir that game to be played on Thursday,
March the thirteenth. In Class Double A, we of course
carry the Philip Barber Colts on WDN E Am Philip
Barber's boys team goes into Region two as a sixth seed.

They will travel down to take on number three Braxton
County next Friday night, March the seventh.

Should they win that one.

As the sixth seed, they will either travel to Richie
County or they will host South Harrison that game on Wednesday,
March the twelfth, and here in Class Single A, Region two.
Of course, both these teams tonight we will see in
the Region two tournament. Tucker County is the overall number

one seed. They get a first round by they only
have to play one game to get to the state tournament,
and they will play the winner of Pendleton County and
Union and that game will be played over at Tucker
County on March the twelfth, that is a Wednesday night.

They will face number six Pawpall here next Friday, March

We got off to a slow start. They they came
out really hot, and I'll take part of the blame.
I was afraid they were they were going to be
too quick for us to play mana man And we
came out in the zone and it took them about
three minutes to warm up, and then they started raining
threes on us and they pressed us, and it was

a real physical game and our little point, our two
little guards, just getting the crap beat out of them.
But anyway, we adjusted. I think we got down sixteen
seventeen points early. We adjusted, cut it to eight at halftime,
really had it to six, and gave up a bucket
right before half, and we kept it running between a

six and twelve point game throughout the second half. We
outscored them the second quarter, we outscored them the third quarter,
and would have outscored them in the fourth quarter if
we didn't have to gamble so much. But we cut
it to four twice, and we just couldn't make them
one more key play to get us, you know, a

little closer. So it is what it is. They're a
good team and we just got off to a bad start.
But you can't do that against good team.

work that much head just because you have to. So
we'll start gathering information on Pap Paul right away. And
as far as the kids go, I won't talk to
them about till after the South Harrison game. But but

we we always scout a couple of games ahead, so
and people don't don't understand that, but you know, we're
watching game film all the time. But we uh, we'll
start gathering stuff and we'll we'll keep the kids focused
on tonight and Tuesday, and then when we come in Wednesday,
we'll have a scout report ready for him when we
hit the gym.

know you may have to go back up and take
on number two East Hardy team we've got tonight though,
