Denver and Shar welcome you back to We’re Just Like That as they continue unpacking Season 3, Episode 5 of And Just Like That… “A Woman’s Right to Shoes.”

In this Part 2, they pick up right where things cut off—because Zoom giveth and Zoom taketh away. Carrie’s still adjusting to her return to Gramercy, but Duncan (aka Mr. Downstairs Biographer) has thoughts about heels, meals, and just how loud one woman can be. And yet… he accepts the dinner invitation. Hmm.

Miranda’s still living there, judging snacks and throwing side-eye, while Seema’s bad news from the bank leads to a very cute backyard consolation. Charlotte’s out in the woods with LTW, trying to act normal while carrying a secret Harry doesn’t want her to share.

And yes—Samantha texts back, short and fabulous. Carrie’s trying to feel at home again, but between brunch tension, bad neighbor vibes, and the ghost of her old life floating around every corner, it’s clear: the apartment may be hers, but the grounding? Still missing.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hey, Hey, it's shar and we're just like that. Welcome
to the Unofficial Recap podcast for Max's original series. And
just like that, we're so excited, Denver, so you're ready,
I'm ready, all right, so let's get things started, everyone,

(00:24):
and welcome to We're just like that. Denver and I
are back for part two of the episode that.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Got home Okay, and that's an emergency recording.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
You see how much we love y'all and love doing
this show, because but we have to finish off, like,
we haven't even hit hit the juicy spots yet, so
I'm going to cut off. I'm gonna cut all the
riff raff and we'll just jump right into it and
finish out season three, episode five of in just like that.
So we've already talked about we were. We left off

(00:54):
was breakfast and you know, Miranda eating Carrie's last banana
and last yogurt, and we talked about what type of
breakfast people we were, and so the next scene, well,
within the same scene, we see that Carrie notices that
Adam is in the garden and he isn't working. He's
not working, he's out there with his nephew Jamie and
Miranda says that, well, Duncan yelled at him, like Miranda

(01:16):
collected all the tea from the window while eating the yogurt,
while eating the yogurt and the banana and the toast
and whatever else she was having. And Carrie opens the
door and asks him to resume his work, like get
back to work. And I think that's what he was
waiting on, just in case. You know, Duncan came out
there being spicy again. It's like, now Carrie's awake until.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
He even stopped, because like, Duncan's not the one paying
your bill here, so you know, he.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Is one of those man to man patriarchy things.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Who knows, Yeah, I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Well, then in our next scene, we see that glamping
isn't going too well. You know, Harry and the girls
are all in the tent and they're on their individual devices.
They're chilling out in the tent and Charlotte wants to
go for a walk. Harry refuses because you know, the
mosquito's been tearing him up, and of course the girls
aren't interested in it. Well, I should mention Charlotte's kids,
because Rock is envy Charlotte's kids are not interested in it.

(02:12):
And we notice in the scene that Charlotte finally gives
in and lets Lily go be with her boyfriend and
his boyfriend. Like Charlotte doesn't care anymore.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
No, no, I mean I think that she has too
many other things to worry about that much. Yeah, answer,
she's like, girl, go, but she doesn't literally leave without
like a nice little guilt.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Trip right right like now, when you think back on
this Saturday, don't be mad at me because I didn't
make you stay, but go ahead. But also in this scene,
I noticed that Rock seemed to clock how dramatic Charlotte
was being. And Charlotte decides to go get some fresh
air because she seemed like she was about to crack.
So she's going to go for the walk by herself.
And then we get the Wexleys. Oh my gosh, the

(02:50):
Wexley's are They're hanging out as a family, and.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Yeah, nobody seems to be happy on this trip. Yeah,
like the Wexley seemed to be over it, you know,
Charlotte member over it? Did they even go?

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Well? I think that it speaks to how sometimes families
cannot be in the best spot. And then you look
for vacation to save it, and it's not really salvageable
because well, you know, sometimes you feed off another You've
never gone on a couple's trip, and it's like you
feed off another couple or they feed off of you.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
No, because I'm only the host, so I'm always like
super fun and engaging. Everybody has a great time.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
We'll see that, I'm saying from the other person's perspective,
perhaps maybe they're tied up into a pretzel and your
fun loosens things up with them. Oh, I'm sure you
being fun loosens things up with them.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
I'm sure you know what some of that. I went
out last night and I made a decision to again
drink less, and someone walking around the party, everybody is like,
what's wrong with you? Are you okay? You see a
little down? Oh my god?

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Not you be bouncing off the walls when you got a.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
I was like, I'm fine, but I was drinking. Don't
get me wrong, I just didn't go there. Yeah, but
I just thought that was interesting for them that I
love that.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
What a way I just realized, for whatever reason, okay,
now here we go. Sorry, I was looking at my back,
you know, trauma, but the Wexleys are hanging out and
their son whose name I forgot, it's not Herbert Junior,
but he's enjoying his sandwhich was which is a croke messua.
I looked it up. It happens to be like a
fancy you know, like ham and cheese. And you know,

(04:29):
LTW is soaking in the moment and she insists that
Herbert gather around the kids so she can take a photo,
and he's still being an ass asshole.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
And my thing is like, you're already there, And I
think I might say this earlier, but you're already there
there with the family. At some point you just have
to give in and just you know, surrender to the
moment that fun.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Yeah, he's like dragging his feet and you know, to
my point, I think this made the show the most
recent episode when I was saying that kids can pick
up on on when dad and mom are acting crazy,
and so this scene really got on my nerves because
after LTW takes the pictures, naturally, the kids want to
see what they look like, and her daughter grabs the

(05:14):
phone and starts swiping through going through the photos because
she took two. But the daughter keeps swiping and in
those photos and USSI of LTWS it is us LTW
and mystery man aka Michael be Handsome pot.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Michael be Handsome. Yeah, and Herbert was not happy. He
was not Herbert.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Herbert turned it up a notch. And this is what
irritated me about this scene was and everyone's entitled to
their opinions and their insecurities, but it was something about
Herbert that just I think what made it inappropriate to
me is that it was in front of the kids.
I think I might have a different view on this
if it were just them two talking about this, but
in front of the kids felt icky to me, like

(05:57):
come on, grow up. There's a time I'm in place.
And I also understand like natural reaction, like human reaction.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Yeah, I mean, you know, I think I was saying
that I'm surprised Herbert actually acknowledged how attractive he was
out loud. Oh okay, because that seemed something that just
wouldn't really be within his character. Smoom. I mean, maybe
he just really was.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
And something he'd stu over while talking to her friend.
Yeah yeah, yeah, Well.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
So who's the finance man he taking a picture with?

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Well, she reveals that that the man in the photo
is Mary and her editor, and like I said, that's
when things get childish. Herbert is like in disbelief, and
he starts taking digs. Right. We noticed that he says like, oh,
maybe that's why you missed the chocolate order that I
placed for the some moors, because you were getting your
chocolate in Atlanta. Chocolate in Atlanta.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
He was with the chocolate, she had it. She was
walking on the airport with it.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
A giant cat berry bunny full of cream.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Can I take a bite it?

Speaker 1 (06:54):
And again he's with all this in front of the kids.
But he does not like this at all. I felt
like his insecurities really jumped out. I Also what irritated
me is, I don't think LTW if there was some
sexy siren in Herbert's phone, I don't see LTW doing
all of this in front of the kids. She might,
you all may disagree listening let us know it speak pipe,

(07:14):
but she I mean, because she she is Charlotte's friend,
so hi, but the kids.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Not in front of the kids.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Yeah, I imagine her practicing a degree of restraint. But
in this conversation, Herbert asked if Marion is married. LTW
doesn't know but Herbert isn't letting this go, and you know,
she mentions that she took this ussy to show her
other editor, and Herbert says, oh, so it's a threesome.
And the daughter's like, mommy, you know who's having a threesome?

(07:43):
And then she says, you know, no one's having a threesome.
Dad is just being silly. And he fires back and said, well, mommy, yeah,
because mommy's being silly. Out of town.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Nasty, what a slap him? That is a nasty That
was such a nasty response, especially in front of the kids.
That was nasty.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Now, I don't know if you can remember. I know
we can't replicate the same magic twice, but you made
some good points around noticing the daughter. The daughter this
casual exchange around the threesome.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Yeah, and how quickly she was like who's happened to threesome?
Like why did she you know what the threesome is?
Number one? And why isn't she so comfortable asking her
mom about it? Number two? Like girl, stay on a
grown folks business. And I think I said last time
that we all owe Erica Jane an apology, because I
do remember when she was having a thing with Denise
Richards on the Real House. So I was Beverly Hills.
She was like, thirteen year olds, they know what threesomes

(08:31):
are if they haven't had one already. And everybody was like,
oh my god, how could you say that the kids
these days are fast.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Because it sounds ridiculous, But these damn iPhones and these
damn social networks, you just you never know.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
You never know. One scroll on Twitter and it's full.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Yeah, and sorry if you all heard my water bottle crunching,
I was about say, I didn't get my actual water bottle.
I'm drinking out of plastic. Oh, microplastics. I know, empt
I'm cleped. If you all knew how late Denver and
I were doing this this part two, take it Nat,

(09:08):
I can't wait to wash my face and officially get
ready for bed and et cetera.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Et cetera. But nevertheless, nevertheless.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
LTW decides to go for a walk. And when she
steps out for this walk, she runs into Charlotte and
they both acknowledge. They have this conversation where they both
acknowledge that they just needed some time away, granted for
two totally different reasons, but they both needed time away
from their families.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Which is hilarious. They were both the ones pushing their
families to even go on the trip in.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
The first west exactly if Governor's Island LTW suggested a
spa date, so she suggests that she and Charlotte go
do that. Then in our next scene, we get Seema
and Carrie arriving at Carrie's house and Carrie brought Sema
back home because she wants to show off her new table.
In the scene as well, Seema is pining over whether

(09:52):
or not she'll be approved for this loan. Remember the
banker Linda doesn't know if you know, Seema will be
approved because she says that her supervisor is a jackass,
so who knows. But yeah, as I mentioned, Carrie wants
to show off her table, but Miranda is there with
Mexican food and her work sprawled out all for it

(10:15):
is great and we had some conversation about this because
we both I think we both agreed that we'd be
a bit more considerate. But I think Miranda's character does
not consciously move in this way like Miranda's character is like,
I have work that needs to be done and I'm
gonna sprawl everything out, and she probably thought that she
was doing a good thing by buying Mexican food for her,

(10:36):
and like for when Carrie gets home, like you can
tell that she's not even thinking about like the the
value or the meaning the double triple meaning and significance
of this table for Carrie.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
No, but for me, like as a guess in someone's home,
I think I would just be a little more con considered,
like the space I'm taking up and you know, like
this is a brand new table. I'm not gonna scratch it.
I'm gonna use as I'm not gonna have books and
papers and pins, and like I'm just I would never
do that.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
The coaster was the big thing. And also Miranda could
have been a bit more organized and maybe have some
stuff stacked up in a post.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Have some piles, but they could have been they were unkempt.
They were unkempt.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
And oh also in this scene, Carrie is emphasizing the
sema to stay on the runner, you know, don't don't
walk in your heels on on the on the on
the floor.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
And see was like, girl, what is wrong with you?

Speaker 1 (11:27):
Yeah, Seema doesn't get it. But I have in my
notes that Carrie is like annoyed. I felt like the
tension was the energy was so tight in this scene.
I could feel it through, like, I mean, because.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
What do you do? It's one of those where it's
like it's not like you can't do this, but I
just wasn't really expecting this. It's kind of throwing me
off the thought and I hate it, but I also
understand it.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Right, So then we get Sema. She steps outside because
she's like, I need free rein to do my thinking
in my pacing. So she steps outside to smoke a cigarette.
And that's when Carrie and Miranda start tidying up a
little bit, i'll say. And as they're tidying up, Carrie
knocks over the Mexican coke, the bottle of Mexican coke

(12:09):
on to the brand new table. And that's when this
gets full on lucy and ethyl for me, like, it's
time to clean it up. And this is full on
lucy and ethyl because it gets ridiculous and and in
their haste, as they're racing to clean up this coke spill,
Carrie just grabs random papers, which you never that's inconsiderate.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
I would use that paper. I would never use a
paper to get sewed up off of the table anyway
a paper's it's not fucking bounty.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
No, And Carrie could have ran to the kitchen and
grabbed a dish rag or something. You don't wrap there
if you know your friend is working, whether they're working
or not, you don't grab a random piece of paper
with any type of typing or writing on it to
soak up a spill. Carrie be so serious, and she's
a writer, so she knows.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Better good point, good point, good point.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
I don't do that. And so Miranda's like, oh my god,
that's my research it to Carrie's like, oh, I'm sorry.
And then Miranda grabs the scarf that Carrie mentioned was insignificant,
little old thing, and Miranda that's that's what she grabs
to clean it up.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
So two questions. Yeah, why didn't Miranda still have it?
I would assume as she would have taken it off
with the rest of that orange suit.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
So I thought about this. I think that Miranda, because
remember she said, don't let me forget this. I think
that when she left Joy's house, she didn't wear the
scarf back home, she just put it in her bag
and maybe she forgot about it. And then when it's
time to work. She settles down and the scarf is
still in the bag and she's like, oh, I'll get
up to carry when she comes in.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
So that's fair. So that brings me back to my
question is of why was she so dressed up for
a one night stand if she was just going back
to the house the next morning.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
We'll see. Remember that wasn't the plan.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
It was not the plan.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
That wasn't the plan. I remember we talked about this because
Miranda insinuates that she didn't want to do a walk
of shame. I took that as her going into work
the next day. Yeah right, good question, because I was like,
she wore it, she she got dressy, because well maybe
she was just saying her walk of shame. She just
didn't want to be, you know, in the ass out

(14:08):
titties out on the way back home.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
That's not fun. And then my other question, if she
ordered Mexican food, why did you not get another Mexican coke?
Did they not have them at the Mexican spot?

Speaker 1 (14:20):
I don't know, don't know, I don't know. The One
thing we do know is that Carrie says is that
my last Mexican coke, Baby these. They are over it.
She she is over it.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
She's also who knew? Whoknew? Carrie had such a running
list of what she had in her fridge in her
mind at all times. She knows she's on the last
of everything. I got one of these, I got one
of these. I got one of these.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Also, it's also very on brand of Carrie to not
have like of course she hasn't gone to the store lately.
Of course she hasn't.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
I mean, I get that, but to know that you
have the last I just have one of these left,
like I just I always run out of it because
I never know. I think I have two or three,
I'm out. Oops.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Yeah, I think I used to be more cognizant before
quarantine brain. I used to be more cognizant, like you get.
But I also think when you have a visitor, whatever's
there is just turned the temperatures just turned up. When
you go to when you go to get that last oreo,
for example, if you eat eat oreos or your last popsicle,

(15:19):
and whether it's different when when it's just you and
you open it, you're like, damn, I forgot to buy
some more. It's another when you look over and your
guest is crunching on that oreo or slurping that fruit bar,
and you that you had your mouth set for that.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
That is I mean, I understand like in the moment
when you want it, like you know, like when I
go to get something and I'm like, oh, I have
one more thing in there because I remember it because
I'm actually going to get it, and I go in
there and it's not there, and then.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
You've got to be the audience to someone eating it.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
So while we're which brilliant scene, like, I'm like, the
conflict is just out the wazoo this episode. But then
we get Sema. She's out in the backyard and she's
chatting with Adam and Jamie, and I noticed that Adam
is a little flirty also in this scene. He asks Seema,
a Southeast Asian woman, have you tried yoga? And she's like,

(16:11):
be so fucking for real right now.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
And I don't remember if I said this, but I
think this is the first time where Adam got kind
of cute to me, like yes, real, yes, Like he's
always been attractive, but in this scene, I was like,
it was the hair.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
The hair was hairing, it was it was falling in
the right place. He looked good. This was when I
had a big wake up call because one of my
friends a few weeks ago asked me, he said, you
don't think that that maybe Adam might be for Seema?
And I was like, no, because I was fully invested
at the time, you know, telling you know Carrie, he
never met a kiddie that came been to his will

(16:45):
and all of this, Like, I'm thinking that he's for Carrie.
But in this episode there's clearly a twist where I'm like,
is this about to be Seema's man? Because I'm picturing
Duncan for for Carrie now. But we'll get to that.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
We'll get that.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Yeah, we'll get to that.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
I agree. They had a nice little chemistry in that garden,
for sure.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
They had. It was it was kind of electric. And then,
as I mentioned, Miranda and carry are tired of each other,
and Carrie just finally caves and says, obviously, it is
no longer. This is no longer Bank Street in the nineties,
and Miranda's like, yeah, because we're ninety. But Carrie, what
I love, which is a true sign of friendship, is

(17:25):
that you can acknowledge something's not working, but also Carrie's like,
but you can't go back to the police. I can't
go back to that Airbnb. So you know, if I
got to take it on the chin, I'll take it
on the chin. You can't go back to the naked
you know, meat cleaver, threatening guy like, I'm not sending
you back there.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
And what I what I appreciated is that, you know,
I thought with the building to this episode there would
be drama other than some big blowout, but it was
actually very mature.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
Right right, because we know that even even if this
was Sex in the City the movie, this would have
been a blowout, a blow up them.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
It's just not yeah, and you know it, I know it.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
Yeah, and they it's palpable. We as the viewer new
with it. Yes, time, it's time and and her Seema,
Seema's coming comes back into the kitchen and she's disappointed
because she did not get approved for the loan. And
that's when Carrie goes against what she initially said earlier

(18:23):
in the episode, and she just goes in for the
kill and she tells Sema that Miranda needs help finding
an apartment, and Seema is down to help. In the
name of women helping women like Seema's not tripping.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
No off, and she caught her at a bad time,
so she probably like, yeah, sure whatever it.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Right, right right for at a good time, depending on
how Yeah, yeah, she caught her at an ideal time,
and she's like, he's out. If you don't mind working
virtually because ain't no office, you know, then yes, I
can help you. And so I love that. And something
tells me that Miranda's place if she gets one, because
we don't know where this story is going to go.

(18:58):
I feel like Miranda's going to be in a sickning.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Do you think so? Mm hmmm, I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
I think I think that Miranda's practical and she'll take anything.
But I think the scene was gonna She's gonna find
something nice, and.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Now I see her taking some like really shitty, like
artist Loft or something.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Now, why why are artists lost shitty? Are you saying
that they're shitty?

Speaker 2 (19:19):
No? I just said the one Randa it's gonna take
would be I love artist Lofts, I you know, I love.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
Remember the guy that Carrie went on a date with
last season, Mariska Hargate's husband from Younger Yes, Yes, and
his loft with his husband. Yet like that was that crazy? Yeah,
that reminded me of Chicago. That was so Chicago to me. Yes,
that was it was very Chicago feel to that loft
in that area. But nevertheless, nevertheless we get damn it.

(19:50):
Where am I in my notes? My eyes just slipped
lt W. Yes. LTW and Charlotte are at the spot.
They're decompressing, and LTW shares with Charlotte that she has
a work crush on Marian, which we all knew. She's
just speaking, you know, to it, and LTW asked Charlotte
if everything is okay because she seems distant. This is
the second time in the episode that a friend is

(20:11):
clocking that Charlotte seems troubled, And in this scene, I
definitely thought that Charlotte was going to crack and say
something because to your point in the other episode is
that when Harry asked Charlotte to keep it to herself,
he stripped her of the possibility of having any sort
of support system.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Yeah, she was going to crack. Is when I got
sad for her. That's when it all catch for me,
because I was like, here, you have LTW being able
to confess her little secrets as simple as it is.
And you have Charlotte holding this big ass cancer weight
and she just can't say a thing, and it maybe
just just really sad.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
And I love how Charlotte was like, it's just as
long as it's a work crush, you know, there's no
big deal. And Charlotte also in this scene. What I
loved about it is she mentioned that she didn't want
to talk about it, and I love that LTW was
by her side to comfort her and support her in silence.
Sometimes people just need you to sit with them for sure,
and no questions, no, Sometimes it's just the comfort of

(21:06):
knowing the presence. Just be here, just be here. Yeah,
I really loved how that was depicted. Beautiful scene. Then
we get carried in the backyard talking to Aidan under
some good lighting. I don't know what what time of
day that was.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
I don't know. I was like that she had highlights
because he looks great.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
She looked amazing. But she's in his backyard talking to
Aiden and Jamie, which I also noticed Aden. I mean
in my notes, say Aiden, but I meant Adam God,
not me.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
Lord. I'm traumatized.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
Sometimes I have to catch myself because I'm typing so fast,
and I mix up Herbert and Harry, and so Aiden
and Adam are too close together.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
For meleaging and gut because when I have sometimes when
I'm typing Charlotte, I'll type by accident with an ass,
no with the C. But my brain does some weird
it just like combines the two because everything, so when
I'm trying to do Charlotte, but sometimes it'll go like
with the sea. Sometimes it'll go with an ass, but
mostly with the sea. Is.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Yeah. You know, Anthony calls her Shar every time he's
on on the screen and he's like, Shar, what's going on?
I like look up, like what What's what Italian is
barking at me? What Italian is yelling at me through
the TV? And so But I also what I was
going to say is that I noticed that this conversation
with Carrie and Aiden, I mean, in Adam in the

(22:26):
backyard with Jamie, it does not seem as electric as
the conversation that Adam was having with Sema earlier.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
No, not at all. That ship has moved, sailed.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
Whatever, and so they're they're talking about the plans for
the backyard, and you know, Carrie is complimenting him on
what he's accomplished so far. Jamie as well. We don't
want to erase Jamie. He backed there too. And then
we hear the beep of a smoke detector and it's
coming from Duncan's apartment, and so he goes down and

(23:00):
she's like, what is that? She walks into his apartment
and this man is so wrapped up in his own world.
Much to your earlier point about you know, ear plugs
and noise canceling.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
Problem. Thank god, Yeah, he was getting on my nerves.
Get some bows and sit down and shut up.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
Come on, bows.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
Also, aren't you supposed to be sleep?

Speaker 1 (23:22):
Becoverly Hills housewives?

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Aren't you supposed to be asleep? It's the daytime?

Speaker 1 (23:27):
That is true. That is true. Maybe he compromised because
he like, is she gonna be stomping upstairs? I'll sleep
when she sleeps? Maybe, but yeah, he's so wrapped up
in his own world with his work. He didn't even
notice that his dinner was burning on the stove. And
so he gets up and they, you know, he removes

(23:48):
the pot off of the burner. The little dish rat
catches a fire and Carrie stomps it out with her
foot and set in her heels and says, wow, you're
no noisy, aren't you. Glad I'm wearing heels like that
was like hornie girl. If I had been wearing them,
them slippers, you gifted me that they would have caught
on fire, like I was able to put this out

(24:10):
because of which is also something well, I was like
Carrie covets her shoes, but also she ain't trying to
lose the Grammarcy.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
House goes up in flames, everything goes up and.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
Down even more than it because right now there's already
a little fire, little fires everywhere, if you will. And
so cut to these two they're out having dinner together,
and Duncan within this conversation mentions that you know, he's
fun in London and all work in NYC, because Carrie
brings up like you know, they say you're fun talking

(24:43):
about you know, referencing the Samantha text earlier.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
And I think my question was, well, wait, we're not
there yet. Keep going, I'm going, keep going.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
Almost knocked over my laptop. Glad we're wrapping this up.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
I'm so tired. It's been a long day.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Yes, it's been a lot, and so yeah. In this conversation,
he reveals that he's a little nervous because he's trying
something new. He's writing. The subject of his current biography
is Margaret Thatcher, aka the Iron Lady from Across the Pond,
and he's nervous because he does not know how this
is going to be received by his audience. This is

(25:20):
a new venture for him, writing about a woman. And
Carrie shares that, Listen, I'm somewhat in the same boat
because I am trying something new. I normally write, you know,
memoir and advice books, and I'm writing a fiction piece,
a period piece, a fictional period piece in the set
of the eighteen hundred.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
Which I'm still so curious as to how that's going
to turn out.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
I know, I know, I know, and you know, Duncan's like, oh, well,
the whole house is going to be trembling, you know,
in anxiety.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Anxiety. Yeah, yeah, which I still don't understand because once
he revealed that he was writing about Margaret Thatcher, when
my mind was like, he needs quiet, Why didn't he
go to ups State, New York or anywhere?

Speaker 1 (26:01):
Yes, I forgot you talked about this. He could have
went to Ithaca, Chester, which is the city.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Maybe his subjects in New York, but clearly not. So
he's just all around, just all around.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
Yeah, he should have been upstate. And there are places
for writing writers retreats. One of my mentors, when she
was working on a book that she was working on,
she ended up like going to like out in the Boonies,
like with other writers, and there were like log cabins
and stuff like. There's estates you can get away from
the city and really buckle down, you know, put your
phone away and focus and have your tea and wake

(26:40):
up with the sun and.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
All nobody stomping on top of you.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
No one's stomping on top unless you want them to,
unless you consent for them to. You know, we don't
kink shame over here. We're just like that.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
I do knk question.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
You know, I'm full of questions. What I'm trying to
be fair. I'm trying to be fair. Shout out to
Barbara Walters. Tell me everything I want to know. And
so then we get the closing scene where you know,
Carrie gets home and the final shot that we see
is she takes her heels off at the door, and
that's kind of the still that's where the camera stays

(27:13):
at these closed toe black like pad and leather pumps,
and that is symbolic okay again going out of her
way to be courteous. And so the episode, the credits
roll and the episode ends.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
Now, if I know I was taken, we didn't get
that outro monologue like for writing the book the Little No,
I don't.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
Think we did. I don't think we did. I don't
think I think it just came in with the music
bed yeah, the shoes and then and then the song
started playing, which everything is done for a reason with
that writer's room. So it's interesting.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Have you listened to the other the pot I have not.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
I have not. I typically try to once once we're
done recording, because I don't want any of what they
say to influence what I say. But I have not
gotten around to listen to the most recent one. Did
you you know?

Speaker 2 (28:01):
I never do. I just I just wait for you
to tell me. You like, they bring.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
Up stuff that you know we didn't catch, or it's like, oh,
that moment that Denver and I just breezed by is
a moment like they included that on purpose. So no,
I haven't it's been a busy. You hear it in
my voice, that voice of snap crackling and popping.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
And you know I didn't watch the teaser for next
week either.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
I did, but I can't remember anything significant.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
Honestly. I think you told me Aiden pops up.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
Yes, yes, yes, we do get Aiden next week. Fortunately,
next week.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
Yeah you said what maybe him a Duncan on fight,
just duke it out in the back.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
I think Aiden will whoop Duncan's ass. Yes, Duncan is
all mouth, all smart ass mouth country Charlottesville, so I
have to know that. How do you rate this episode?

Speaker 2 (29:02):
We'll give it an eight only because I wanted more Marion.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
More Marian. Yeah, I'm sure we'll get lots more Marian.
I feel like LTW is going to be placed in
some compromising situations.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
And if we get a shirtless Marion automatic ten automatic
ten for sure, Yes, let's manifest, Yes.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Let's manifest. I give this episode an eight point five
out of ten only because I loved that no one.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Knew piece, Yeah, no one knew pieces.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
Episode. I thought that the way that the conflict was
the way that it unfolded, and everybody had like their
different storylines and some were bigger than others, but it
was just it just it was done so well. I
felt that it was acted so well, it was written
so well. And I really loved the contentious moments between
Carrie and Miranda because sometimes.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Something sells down like that it does.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
So do you have any predictions? I know we've kind
of been scattering them in as this episode has been going,
But do you have any predictions?

Speaker 2 (30:06):
No? I mean I think, in my heart of hearts,
I want Carrie and Aiden to try to do it
on that table, and I want the table to break.
I want them to break up, and I want that
whole symbolic exactly. So I want them to break break up,
table gone. I just want aid and gone.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Yeah. Oh, I didn't think about that. If Aiden goes well, no,
the table doesn't necessarily have to go just because Aiden
goes no.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
They can both but they can both break, they.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
Both can break. Yeah. I think my prediction is I
think that when we see Aiden next week, Granted the
teaser looked all flowery and like, oh, you know, Aiden's visiting,
I think that next week is going to be the
breakup episode. I think they're misleading us in the teaser
because next week is episode six, and that puts us
halfway through the season, right we.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
Have I think it's twelve twelve.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
Oh shit, I think so because this ends in mid
August and July is just kicking off. Oh it's like
mid to late August. I can't remember. I can't remember.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
How about you all, I just show up we GoF
the weekend episode.

(31:32):
round out the episode because we had that crazy interruption.
And so here's your part two and we will.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
See you all in a matter of days. We're an
all new episode, all right, Bye guys, Bye y'all.
