(00:04):
Hey, Hey, it's sar.Hey, this is Denver, and we're
just like that. Welcome to theUnofficial Recap Podcast for Max's original series.
And just like that Season two,We're so excited, Denver. So you're
ready, I'm ready, all right, so let's get things started. Oh

(00:29):
sure, we made it to thefinale. Can you believe it, Denver,
We're here, We are here,I can't. It does seem like
just yesterday we were brainstorming this ideaand it's like, wow, we're at
the end, and not only didwe make it to the finale, but
we're renewed. We're renewed now whenwe do the Twitter spaces. Well,

(00:52):
let me just back up, forthose of you who don't know you're listening
to, we are just like that, the unofficial recap podcast for HBO Maxes
are getting HBO Max Max's and justlike that Season two, don't be dead
naming. I know. I can'thelp it. I am so sorry.
Something about that HBO just sounded sogood. Now it's gone, but we
won't. We won't go there.I'm Denver, I'm joined by my lovely

(01:15):
host, shar and this is ourlast well I guess technically not our last
episode for season two, because we'regonna do one next week, but it's
the finale episode for season two ofand just like that. Yeah, but
yeah, we're renewed. We arerenewed for season three. Very exciting.
You know. I do want tostart by I mean, we got some

(01:37):
Carrie's Closet confessions to get through, but I do want to let people know
that we are doing a bonus episodefor next week. So and it's basically
just like, you know, giveus your grade. How would you grade
the season or how would you youknow? Is it a five out of
ten for you? Is it aneight out of ten? And why?
And of course next week's bonus episodeis contingent on you all replies in your

(02:00):
speak pipes. So I'm looking forwardto that. I also got a few
messages about the website that I broughtup last week about like finding the outfits,
and so I'm going to say iton our show. It's worn on
TV dot net and you can getyou can find out what people are wearing,
whether that's your daytime talk, yourprimetime talk, or like even like

(02:22):
your premium programming like and just likethat or the Shy or what have you
worn on TV dot Net. Soyeah, to know, before we get
into these speak pipes, I dowant to also note that I, you
know, you and I we talkedabout the the episode even more once the

(02:42):
once our show was over. Andwhat do you think about like some of
the tweets and stuff that I DMedyou about, like how Carrie is like
a terrible friend for not comforting Mirandaduring that comedy show last week, or
even about like why didn't Carry giveMiranda her apartment? Like what do you
think about some of the apartment one? I've always been the apartment one was
always the big thing for me,Like I never wondered why she was bringing

(03:06):
it out to Shay when she knewMiranda needed a place to stay. That
always just kind of bugged me.But then I was like just still kind
of a little pissed about how Mirandalet her lay in the bed and pee
on herself next season. So maybeit's just like a bad memory type situation
with Miranda in that apartment. Okay, As far as like the comedy show
thing, I don't know if Carrieshould have gotten up. I mean that

(03:29):
was a very like Miranda Chay kindof situation, Like I don't. I
don't know what Carrie would have beenexpected to do in that situation. Die
your best friend some of the years, I get it. But maybe she
just needed a moment to come back, you know, like I just I
don't know. And she was therewith a you know, she gets stupid
with Aiden. I don't. Idon't think her jumping up immediately to storm

(03:52):
out with Miranda would have been theright movie either. Full disclosure, Full
disclosure. I can hear you talk, but some of what you're saying is
sounding glitchy. I know you're stillover in Greece with Carrie and Seema right
now, so you need to fixSure, it's just a little glitchy,
but I can I can still makeout most of what you're saying. Okay,

(04:15):
Well, I think on my endit won't be once I export the
audience. Okay, but if itis, let me just you know,
look at some things real quick.Yeah. And then also, you know
she's always done with Aidan's there, and he was there, so I just
I think she just stayed put.Well, all right, are you ready
to get into the speak pipes? This week Carrie's Closet Confessions. We have

(04:35):
quite a few I shouldn't mention thatthe first two came in like the first
one is from Cameron, and Cameronended up sending a note a voice note
in on Thursday of last week, and it was after we had already done
done the podcast. So we havetwo from last week and then like five
from this week. So again forour listeners, if you want to skip

(04:57):
past this portion of the show,I say, maybe scrub thirty minutes ahead
of time and then our review shouldbe there. So our first one is
from Cameron. Let's take a listento what they had to say. Hey
guys, my name's Cameron. Firsttime speak pipe, long time listener.
I just finished the episode, andthis is gonna be a weird number of
episodes. I thought we're gonna atleast get twelve. This is just another

(05:21):
episode to carry trying to get thisgrown man into her apartment, and I
roll my eyes at his reasonings. But whatever, I knew why I was
going to be a problem. Atsome point. I was hoping AIDEN was
going to be like, you know, I carry it. I just can't
do this anymore. I gotta bemy kids, And I was gonna rejoice
and be glad in it. Mirandais this is not like the second time

(05:45):
she's been embarrassed at a comedy showor showed up what she wasn't supposed to
like she should have learned the firsttime. I love Charlotte going off on
everybody and being nice to Richard Burden. That was really funny, Professor Moore
in show. I really want herto learn how to be petty, because
spending a thousand dollars on that manand that hippie baby is not it.

(06:10):
Lastly, Anthony, he really shouldjust like sniff some poppers and let that
man inside of him just grow up. All right? Once again, love
the podcast. I'm gonna miss itafter this weird eleven episodes. All right,
boy, thank you Cameron for givingus a call, so you know

(06:33):
when I mean, I'm gonna jumpahead a little bit. But they obviously
they did it in this episode. And when they panned to the night's dand
I didn't see like three or fourdifferent loubes, but I did not see
a bottle of poppers. I shouldgo back and look and see if there
was one, because now I'm curious. That's funny, that's funny. I
noticed that as well, and Ishould also note, because Cameron brought up
Professor Mourning Show, it is notlost on me that the Morning Show season

(06:57):
three trailer dropped today, So I'mlike, oh, Karen Pittman is in
her bag. Karen's Pittman is inher bag. And hopefully with the early
renewal for this season over season three, we can get more of her in
season three because I know that shewas doing this in the Morning Show simultaneously,
so maybe they get a lot better. Yeah, and we don't know
when. We don't know when ourshows coming back. I mean, given

(07:18):
the strike, you know, Idon't know if the strike will be resolved
by even the end of the year, so you know, feeling it's good
to know that the show has beenrenewed, but we don't know when they're
going to fire the cameras, backup and get back in the writer's room
and give us a new story. So well, I hope they don't.
I hope they don't rush it either. I hope they don't rush it either.

(07:39):
So our next one is from Jacqueline. Let's take a listen to what
they have to say. Hello,Hello, Yes, I am in the
midst of listening to your latest episode. This is Jacqueline, and I just
think that the conversation you're having aboutMiranda and Carrie and maintaining friendships with people's

(07:59):
exit is very, very interesting.I don't know what I personally stand on
that one. I think like forSteve it makes a whole lot of sense
because they have so much history andbecause he's friends with Aiden. But the
Chaye of it all, you know, you could convince me either way,
but I do think that it isrich coming from Miranda to have an opinion

(08:24):
when Miranda really kind of blew thatwhole the boundaries of the relationship with Chay
up, considering that was, youknow, Carrie's boss, and you know
they were starting to develop a friendshipand now you know, you kind of
put this person in an odd position, but you know, Carrie has kind
of made it work considering the circumstances. But you gotta say, Denver see,

(08:48):
And that's another reason why I thinkCarry was right to sit in that
show and just stay put for asecond, because let's remember Jay was Carrie's
friend first. So yeah. Also, speaking of Chay, I meant to
tell you, Uh, Judy Chaseboss and co worker, has lived a
number of lives the other day.Well, last week I was bored and

(09:09):
getting some work done, and Idecided to rewatch season three of Pose because
I really don't remember anything that happenedthat season, and why was Why was
Judy and Posed? She was Electroc'sco worker. Yes, she's Electrics.
She's like an episode three, likeshe brings like donuts or something when Electro
was in the office. I waslike, not, Judy got two jobs

(09:31):
in two lifetimes. But I loveseeing I love seeing when that that crossover.
So our next one is from RonnieCoco, and I should mention that
Ronnie Coco's has broken up into twopieces, so uh, let's listen to
the first part. Hey guys, this is Ronnie Coco from the seven five

(09:52):
seven Norfolk, Virginia in particular.I just wanted to let you guys know
it is pronounced north Folk, sometimesNorfiic, but never nor Folk. We
also don't have any farms in Norfolk. Not sure why the writers didn't flesh
that out completely. The closest thingwe got to a farm is the city

(10:13):
zoo, so I don't know.But I was also doing a countdown on
who all carry couldn't bite. Igot like twelve maybe thirteen people if aiden
shows up, So I'm not sure. I wonder what you guys think about
that. I'm recording this on Tuesdaybefore the episode comes out, so I'll

(10:35):
probably record another one after the episode. Love you guys, love your takes,
love the tangents. Isn't that thepart the point of a podcast anyway?
Also? Oh? Hi, uhsorry sear Denver in Nash And what

(10:56):
what is the next show? Whatare we? What are we doing next?
Can't let you guys go? Isthere somewhere I can listen to season
one because I'm thinking about doing afull rewatch SATC the movies as well as
uh, and just like that, let me know, Love you guys,
talk to you later. Not Nashgetting shout outs. Okay, okay,

(11:20):
I love it, I love it. Thank you for giving us a call
Ronnie Coco, So, Denver,I did not know before we get to
part two of of Ronnie Coco's call, I did not know that. Well,
it's nice to know that it's Norfolk. Yeah, I could say in
Norfolk? Uh yeah, what elsedid Ronnie say? Gosh, you just

(11:43):
slipped my mind. I'm so firedup for this. They don't any farms.
Yes, the closest is the cityzoo, the closest to a farm
that they have. Uh but yeah, that was that was the funny call.
Thank you. Sorry. We diddo season one on Twitter spaces and
elon fuck all that up? Sobeen lost? Yes, yes, so

(12:03):
in case you're just joining us,Ronnie Coco, we did. We were
on Twitter spaces for all of seasonone and so, I mean, I
guess it's a blessing in disguise becausewe launched a podcast for this season.
But season one was epic on Twitter. That was that was a fun time.
That was a fun time. Wehad quite a mix of participants that

(12:26):
we'd pulled up three hours literally wouldbe three hour recon This is Ronnie Coco.
Oh it's thirty seconds part two ofwhat they had to say, Hey
guys, Ronnie Coco again. SoI was just also thinking that Carrie mentioned

(12:46):
like twice she'd been in New Yorkfor thirty five years and hadn't been to
like Coney Island and the other placewas like, I don't know, be
you in or wherever Marines had been. Do you think maybe she leaving New
York? I mean, I don'tknow. I don't think Harry's leaving New

(13:09):
York. I don't think she everwould leave New York. But I could
see why you would entertain that questionbased on, you know, the last
two episodes. I see why youwould entertain that, But I never that
thought never crossed my mind. Whatabout you, Denver? No? I
mean, has she not purchased thatbig old house? I mean when her
and Aiden first got together and shewas doing the country thing, I was

(13:30):
like, well, wait, arewe gonna see a shift allow, you
know, Miranda and Jay. Butthen again when she came back and about
that big ass house, I waslike, oh, no, she's gonna
stay. Yeah. Absolutely, ThanksRonnie Coco. Our next one is from
Dom. Hey, y'all's at democracyon Twitter. Thanks for engaged with me.

(13:52):
For the both of you, thisseason was phenomenal. Won't go into
detail for each relationship, but Carriedoes not need to wait for eight for
five years, Trump needs five years. Carrie needs to move on. I
loved to see the Wesleys. Baby, that's a good man, Savannah.

(14:15):
He's not the husband that she wants, but when she needed him, he
showed up. And lastly with theSamantha Cameyo that could have kept that I'm
honestly it felt forced in a ina time period where the storylines feel real.
Uh and so, but we gotrenewal for season three, so hopefully,

(14:37):
you know, Kim Coltrell is ableto you know, humble herself and
and slide into some realness. Wewant to see Samantha for real, for
real, you know, and hopefullywe get to explore that. But thank
you all so much for an amazingseason. I'm screaming y'all's podcast from the
rooftops for everybody, and we willsee y'all next season. It was so

(15:00):
nice. I have a lot tosay. I agree with a lot of
what she said too, So heyguys, nash here, Oh last time

(15:26):
to say that for the season. But let's just get straight to it.
The dinner party was cool. Ilike how they tied up all the loose
ends. I do not like howthey turned Sema into an insecure fourteen year
old. That was very annoying.Carrie and Aiden, WTF. Totally get

(15:50):
you have a son, he's goingthrough some things. You gotta be down
there. But what I don't getis this, let's just throw it up
for five years and see what happens. See where we land, and absolutely
not before we go rolling around inthat bed. We're gonna need to sit
down as some adults into our sixyears or whatever and come up with a
plan. Because when are you comingup here? You don't mean to come

(16:12):
down there. That's a little weirdto me. But what are we gonna
do? We need some We needsomething because I just, you know,
get rid of a monument in mylife for this relationship and we're just gonna
wait for him for five years tosee what's what and you know, we
gotta look girl. Please. Yeah, that just really through me. Why

(16:36):
can't why come up when you comeup? Take him to the zoo or
something? I don't know either way, Thanks guys. Really enjoyed doing this
season with you guys. Can't waitto do it again for season three.
Bye, Thanks Nash, and againwe're gonna unpack all of that. I
must say that I disagree with thepoint that you made about seem I did

(16:57):
not view her as a four eighteenyear old insecure, you know, freshman
in high school. What about you, Denver? Yeah, I think I
disagree with that too. I likedseeing the side of Sima and I think
it was important, but we'll getto it a little bit later. Yes,
we definitely will dive in. ThanksNash. Our next one is from
Dave Hey, guys, Hey,Denver, Hey, shar Dave here.

(17:21):
I just wanted to come on andsay job well done. Tends across the
board, shout out to you both. This was a fantastic season. I
thoroughly enjoyed you both every single week. I listened every episode, sometimes twice,
like how I watched the show twice. So I just wanted to say
chairs to you. Hopefully you guysare having a cocktail and we can make

(17:45):
a toast as we're listening to thisspeak pipe. But I also wanted to
give a shout out to the unofficialthird co host, Nash for the iconic
speak pipe that she left last week. She would forever go on history.
That was hilarious. I'm really enjoyingNash this season as well, and in

(18:06):
true fashion of being Carrie's friend inmy head, I definitely would say that
my word that I would like tolet go would be good enough. Thanks
again, guys, have a goodone. We're gonna get to that too.
We're gonna get to the to thewords that we're letting go thank you

(18:27):
so much for that, called Dave, and yes, Nash put on a
show last week with the I don'twant it, I don't want you,
I don't want hit no more andDave, how do you listen to this
show twice? And I mean that'swith all due respect, thanks for the
streams and listens, but I don'tmaybe I've been listen to it once.
Honestly, I skipped through. Iskipped through, I I listened. But

(18:48):
thank you so much for your support, Dave. And Yes, we will
be having our toast actually next weekbecause, as I mentioned at the top
of this episode, we're doing Iwouldn't call at the best of but I
guess like a grading session and it'scontingent. So feel free to call back
and just let us know what youfelt about this season overall and your best

(19:11):
moments, your worst moments, likeyour favorite moments. Yeah you know,
yeah, yeah, yeah stuff.Yes, thanks so much, Dave.
So we have two more Denver, wait, let me refresh to make sure
it didn't nobody else. Okay,we have two more. The next one
is from Sligh. Hello, y'all, it's Ryan Mitchell. I'm a huge

(19:32):
fans, y'all know I love Thepodcast reminds me of Twitter spaces. But
I just finished watching the finale andI had to hop up on here real
quick because it is fuck Aiden untilthe end of time, because I am
completely over that dumb ass shit hepulled in the way that it felt like
he was so nonchalant in a way, even though that's kind of classic Aiden,

(19:56):
it just felt like he was sononchalant about the way he was presenting
this this news to Carry, andI was like, I get being a
parent in understanding your priorities, buttelling someone to wait five years is absolutely
insane. And the fact that hejust did that so casually really really,

(20:19):
I mean trigger alert. It wasa trigger moment. But this finale was
so good, from Sema to LTWto Charlotte being like, you're doing the
bare minimum. I there was alot of moments where the tears came up
for me. The emotions came upfor me during this finale, And also

(20:41):
shout out to Sharpe being like,uh, you know, Carry is not
keeping that cat. She is inlove with that damn cat. But no,
I can't wait to hear what y'allthoughts about the finale. Y'all did
an incredible job this season. Can'twait for the season three. Oh thank
you Ryan. It sounds like yougot it off at the end. That's

(21:02):
Ryan the sleigh God as someone whois a I think I made a joke
last week about being a feline enthusiast. Ali Taylor Swift. I love that
that Carrie kept shoe, which we'llget to the officially start the recap.
I'm surprised, but I'm very veryhappy. I'm very happy. Yes,
it's shocking, and so our lastone. We have one more. I

(21:23):
think it's Ibrahim. I think,I hope I'm pronouncing that right. So
we have one more and then we'lldive into the recap. Hi, Sean
Denver, this is Ibrahim. Ijust wanted to say I love the podcast.
I've been listening since the Twitter daysthat you had a last season.
Denver, you did block me onTwitter, but that's okay, I'm gonna

(21:45):
let that go. I just wantedto say that I feel like with Professor
Morney showed this season, it couldhave done so much more with her.
All she did this season was juststress over her ex and become Miranda's sidekick
and lt W and her husband hada whole storyline going on, which I

(22:07):
feel like they could have dealt ingiving them their own story and their own
show, But they really let medown with Professor Morney show this season.
What do you guys think? Thanksso much for calling in Ibraham, and
oh then for not you blocking people. Yeah, I don't really know what
to say. I mean, typicallywhen I'm block people, there's a reason,

(22:30):
and I don't know what this particularreason was, but I'm sure that
I had one. But you know, we're gonna keep it positive on this
show, keep it lighting, Brian. Yeah, hero would say, but
thanks for being a fan of theshow, and thank you for listening.
And maybe one day we will figureit out and maybe one day we'll get
I'm blocked. I'm just why shouldyou do? But yeah, we'll get

(22:51):
there. But I do want tosay, I do want to say before
we dive into it, that Idon't fully agree with that assessment about Naya's
character. I think that illustrating herdivorce, Like, keep in mind,
she's been with this man her entireadult life, and I feel like illustrating
that much like they did with Carriewhen Big died last season, people complained

(23:12):
that like Carrie was going through itthe whole time. I think it's a
reflection of a breakup, like youknow, it's it's a reflection of the
seasons and moods you go through withthe breakup. And with also respect to
that comment, you know, KarenPittman, whose professor Morning Show, was
also simultaneously filming The Morning Show,So maybe the writers didn't feel like they

(23:34):
had the full range to really likedo a lot with her character this year.
I don't know, what do youthink she was part timing this year?
So I just I just try toYeah, whenever I try to look
at her scenes, like she probablyhad two days a week. So this
is what we got. Yes,So are you ready to officially start The

(23:56):
Last Supper Part two? Entree Entreeepisode eleven, Season two, Episode eleven.
So, uh, we open upwith Carrie. She's on the phone
with Aiden and they're checking in andcatching up. We left off last episode
with Carrie, you know, kindof comforting Aiden because he was in tears

(24:18):
because Wyatt broke his collar bone andhis leg in two places. And so
they're like catching up and she entersher old apartment and we see I have
in my notes that she kept thekidden, and the Kiden's name is Shoe.
It's a double meaning. So Ihave to tell you I missed the
name in the beginning. Oh that'sbecause she didn't say it in the beginning,

(24:40):
she noute. I love that thekidden though, and I love that
she is keeping this pet. Andyou know what, I've always been like
a proponent and a cheerleader for thattype of pet, like a low maintenance
pet. When you have a veryactive lifestyle like Denver, I still don't

(25:03):
see how you be moving around andyou know, tending to Kenzo, because
with dogs, they require so muchmore than than cats do. Cats you
just keep the litter box and keepit most Thankfully, I have a good
support system, so that makes ita lot easier. But one thing I
didn't notice is the cat in thebeginning of this episode is a lot smaller
than the cat at the end ofthis episode. I don't know if you

(25:26):
noticed. Yeah, and I knowit's the same camp and I'm like,
damn, they must have been filmingfor a minute at least this particularly I
do this episode. I do wantto say that your audio is still kind
of glitching for me, So thoseof you listening if we're talking over each
other. I'm so sorry. I'msure Denver, you'll iron it out with
the edits, but like you're stillkind of like coming in and out for
me, so I can hear partof what you say. But yeah,

(25:48):
I just wanted to do to repeat. Just let me know and then I
will fix it in the back end. Okay, it just sounded like we
were talking at the same time,so I didn't. Oh, I don't
know if we were. I don'tknow. Okay, okay, who you
see the chaos on the finale. We've been running smooth this whole time.
I know, damn it. Ihad to go to Greece. So we're

(26:14):
not even two minutes into this episodewhen Carrie gets a phone call and the
phone call is from the one,the only Samantha Jones. Now Denver gagged.
I was gagged because I didn't expectit so soon. I thought that
was going to be like the lastscene of this entire episode. So for

(26:37):
it to happen basically as we're justkind of getting settled, I was like,
oh my god. And then Igot excited. I was like,
well, is it gonna be longerthan what we thought? Are we gonna
get a couple? Maybe they addedsome more, but it just do me
for a loop for sure. Yeah, I definitely agree with you there.
I thought we were gonna get itlater on, Like I thought that they
were gonna kind of, you know, try to string the audience, string

(26:57):
the viewers along, because they knowthat so many people were tuning in to
see the Samantha cameo. Even peoplewho don't watch on a regular basis were
tuning in to see the Samantha cameo. So I kind of gagged at that,
And I wasn't sure if we weregoing to get like additional Like I
know it was reported that Kim Catrollonly shot one scene, but I don't
know if we were gonna get additional, like if she was gonna call carry

(27:18):
back or leave a voicemail type thing. But I was a little underwhelmed by
this cameo. I mean, itwas nice, and they put the Sex
in the City theme song music bedunder you know, the her appearance.
But I was a bit underwhelmed. How did you feel me? It was
awkward. I'm not saying like theiracting was awkward. Well, I'm not

(27:42):
saying the conversation was awkward. Iam saying their acting was awkward. It
was awkward. He didn't fit.You can tell it was kind of piece
together, like it didn't feel aswarm as I wanted it to outside of
huh, it felt very Yes,it was very detect as almost like Carrie.
Well, you know what. Inthe Writer's Room podcast a few episodes

(28:03):
ago, when Carrie and Seema hadthe wet Hair conversation outside of the hair
salon, the writers did bring upthat, you know, that line that
you and I mentioned when Carrie's likedistance between friends like space just creates more
space, that that's a reflection ofher friendships, how our friendships have evolved
with Samantha and Stanford Blatch. Ithink I might have said that last week

(28:25):
too, and so I wonder ifI mean, I know it wasn't on
purpose, but you could tell.I don't know if because we know that
these actors don't get along that informedsome of the iciness or if they're acting,
as you mentioned, was just inherentlya bit distant, a bit out
of touch. But yes, Samanthaends the call because you know she was

(28:48):
planning on doing like a turnaround tripfrom London to New York to say goodbye.
Do you know, pay her respectsto Carry's fabulous apartment, and that
didn't work out, so she alreadyhad left Heathrow and was headed back home.
So thank you for everything, youfucking fabulous, fabulous flat. Do

(29:10):
you think Kim Catroll is gonna returnnext season? Do you think? Because
you know, everybody has a price, everybody has a price, and that's
kind of what I think is goingto happen. I think with the strike
being out of work, if theybacked the brink struck up, I think
we might get her for at leasta couple scenes, and maybe not with
SJP, but at least with theother girls. Oh yeah, I was

(29:30):
just gonna say that because I tweetedyou and I said I would I would
love to see Samantha and Seema andseeing together. I feel like we could,
we could get some goodies out ofthat. But I do think that
if Kim Catroll comes back in anycapacity, like all of her scenes are
going to be with Charlotte. Idon't care. I don't see her being
with Carrie, and I mean Iwould like that too. Why don't you

(29:55):
pop up in Greece? Greece hasgiven us all these dayn problems, but
I thought that that was definitely willget there. But I, of course
one of my friends text me.I was like, how full circle is
that that? Carrie and Semar andGrease and so is Denver Like hello?
We promised it wasn't planned, y'all. We didn't know it was not getting
a little emotional and I was like, oh my god, this is a
sign I had, like one ofthose. Listen, I'm know I'm trying

(30:19):
to get over there. Uh oh. I should mention that Samantha had developed,
I guess a Madonna esque British accentwhen she was Annabelle Bronstein from It
reminds me remember when Madonna took herass over there and developed a British accent.
Lindsay Lohan did it too, andI thought she had one for real

(30:40):
for the longest time because I wasyoung, and then when I got older,
I was like, oh wait,I mean she's not No, that
was the guy Richie Cabala days, honey. Yeah, but if it happens,
it happened. Yeah, I canimagine that of like when I talked
to somebody with an accent for awhile. I don't know whether it's like
something or foreign. I just kindof start to emulate, and it's really

(31:00):
embarrassing. Have to like, wellwatch myself. You know, they say
Chicago people country as hell, whichwe are to a degree. But like
when I get with like my cousins, whether they be from Chicago or the
South, it's a different shar Thetongue gets really lazy over here. So
I can understand if you're if you'rein London for a few years or whatever.
After after a while, you canin n it pulpit in nit sou.

(31:26):
But that was fun. Our nextscene, we get Harry waking Charlotte
up from a drunken stupor because Anthonyis at the Golden blast House and it's
urgent. He needs to talk toCharlotte about losing his ass virginity. Now,
why did he tell Harry that?Hard? Oh, he gave Harry
that. He told Harry because hewas in distress. Honey, he gave

(31:47):
Harry the tea too far, toofar. What do you think about Charlotte's
concern, Like, did he sayit around the kids? I mean,
considering what our kids have been throughthe last couple of eisodes, I don't
think that would have been my concernat all, honestly. Okay, So
I'm glad you mentioned that because Iwas kind of thrown off at this conversation
that Charlotte and Harry have about like, you know, Harry's like, I

(32:10):
can't do it all Charlotte and shegoes into this, you know, this
speech about because you made a fewbreakfasts. Just because you made a few
breakfasts and ran a few errands doesn'tmean that you're doing it all, Like
I still need your help, yoursupport, Like you're only you're doing the
bare minimum. You're doing a fractionof what women and mothers are expected to
do. What made me scratch myhead with this is I felt like this

(32:31):
conversation would have been more appropriate ifRock and Lily were like preteens and adolescents,
like they practically grown, Like they'relike, aren't they like sixteen seventeen
years old? Yeah? That, and I feel like they've kind of been
doing this for a while now,so I feel like this would have happened
already, true, you know whatI mean? Yeah, just yeah,

(32:52):
felt a little late. Yeah,I agree, I thought that that was
weird. But she also I noticedthat Charlotte says, you know, tell
Anthony that I'm not available, andthat's not something that I like. If
you would have asked me what wouldhave happened in this scene, I would
have told you Charlotte would have gottenup, washed her face, and joined
Anthony around the kitchen island with acup of coffee and talked about losing his

(33:13):
ass virginity. I thought it wasinteresting that she was like, I'm not
available, you know, send himhome. I'm not coming out in my
room. Yeah. Yeah. Ournext scene, we get Miranda surprising Steve
at his new restaurant at the Pier. I liked, what did you think
about this conversation? It was overdue? Yeah, I thought it was perfect

(33:37):
for them. It had a lotof the chemistry that I wish, you
know, Carrie and Samantha's conversation ateven though they were in different places,
it was really warm. It wasvery sweet, and I thought, you
know, she mentions that she doesn'twant to become like someone that was just
in his past. She doesn't wantto hear about his life through constantly.

(34:00):
She doesn't want Steve to forget abouther or them, you know, together,
and she proposition she's yeah, becauseit's a moment of vulnerability from Miranda
that we don't always get. Itis. I'm glad you said it,
but I'm glad she left the decisionultimately up to him. Yeah, because
she wants that he may not bein the space to actually have her in

(34:22):
his life because it's sometimes it's toopainful. Listen, you preach into the
choir, and you know he doesset that boundary because Steve says, you
know, you can be in mypresent and future, you know, just
as friends, but I'm not interestedin moving forward romantically. And it's not
that she proposition to that, butbecause she was walking down memory lane and

(34:42):
stuff, he had to be clearthat she wasn't talking about re entering his
life in some sort of romantic youknow, and some type of romantic way.
Yeah. Capacity, that's the wordI was looking for. Thank you.
And then we see Brady's badass. He sees them from a distance and
he see, I'm so happy withthe wrong idea because he saw them like

(35:05):
he's from the back. He absolutelywill, Yes, yes, he absolutely
will. Our next scene, weget Naya in her office when Jean rolls
up. Oh man, Jean rollsup, and he informs Nya that she's
been elected to the prestigious American LawInstitute. Congratulations to her. Now,

(35:28):
I chuckled at this scene because youknow they say black people in higher ed
uh, like instead of like Isay, prestigious. And I noticed he
kept saying prestigious. And it's kindof like you know those jokes where they
say black people in higher ed sayresearch instead of research. Yeah, I
think I say prestigious too, prestigious. Yeah, I did. It just

(35:49):
made me think of that or youknow church boogie noess with mature an adult
you know what I'm talking about.Oh yeah, oh yeah. But I'm
glad that, amid her divorce, still getting some like professional advancement because that
has to feel yes, And youknow, Jean tells her, you know,
he reaffirms her, like Nia,you are a jewel, you know.

(36:09):
So she's she's feeling good. Ournext scene, though, we get
Naya back at home and she sharesthe news Miranda sitting there in the living
room, and Nia shares this newswith Miranda, but she reveals, after
getting the news from Jane that shepicked up her phone by instinct to share

(36:29):
with Andre Rashad and then she remembered, now Denver, my first question to
you of this this episode has somethinglike this ever happened to you, because
it has certainly happened to me.No, no, not really. I

(36:50):
think that when it's hard for meto share good news in general, So
when every good thing has happened, like I don't really like rush to tell
anybody. I feel like it alwayskind of comes out next time I see
them or you know, in likea social situation. But yeah, yeah,
I can't say that it hasn't.But I'm curious to hear yours your
experience. I mean, it's it'snot anything you know, like drastically dramatic.
It's just that like if there's somethingthat happens in the media, like

(37:15):
there's been instances of like news storiesor even with me, like if once
I develop a certain rhythm, ifsomeone's in my life and then they are
no longer there. Sometimes I havebrought myself to be like, oh damn,
like this is this is something thatwe would have laughed at together,
or this is something or I don'ttalk to this person anymore, but I

(37:36):
wonder what they're thinking because we usedto always talk about this topic. So
it's been stuff like that. It'sa reminder yeah, where it's been a
reminder. We're like, damn,I don't talk to this person anymore.
And we always talked about what wouldhappen if A plus B equals C And
now it's unfolding in the news likethat's crazy. So little stuff like that
it's the worst though it can bethe worst sometimes. But then we get

(38:01):
Miranda. She reminds Naya that, you know, she has a great life
and she's a beloved tenured professor fromone of the greatest universities in the world,
Like, this is the life youwant it? And then Nia says
the quiet part out loud, whichis yes, except no man to share
it with. This is something thatshe is contending with. Go ahead,

(38:22):
so wild because I mean for herentire life, she did, you know
what I mean? Like she's beensharing the last twenty years of her life
with a man, so do nothave one now? And to feel that
way, it's kind of like, girl, what happened to the last twenty
something years you've been sharing your life? I get the sadness, but let's
also be real. I think Ithink again, who have never had any
of That is true? But Ithink when you're in the thick of it

(38:46):
again, it's acknowledging what we justtalked about with when you've developed a certain
rhythm or there's like a certain presence, like you know, like so one
of the most popular talking points I'veseen online is like how Beyonce has never
experienced, to our knowledge, likesingle womanhood, like a woman, actual
woman who's you know, learning andliving like you know. They say that

(39:07):
crucial time for adults, whether yoube woman, man or envy, there's
a crucial time like in your twentiesand stuff where you need to be able
to you know, function alone andhow important that is to personal development.
And so I bring up Beyonce becauseshe's been with jay Z since she's nineteen.
So I imagine even pre Blue Ivyand the twins that if something were

(39:30):
to happen where they weren't speaking, then that rhythm. Once that rhythm is
interrupted, I do think that itcan be sobering and sad sometimes. I
hope that that made sense with mebringing them up and tying that into that
because Nia was with Andrea Niah waswith Andrea Rashat since college, so it's
like, you know, that's practicallyher whole adult life and do we know

(39:52):
how old Niah is, Isn't shelike in her mid thirties, mid to
late thirties right now, I wouldthink so. I don't know if it's
ever been explicitly said, but yeah, maybet And see that's a lot of
time, Denver, that's half yourday. I'm life, almost life,
no man to share it with, like you've you've been sharing your life up
until a couple of months ago.Yeah, chill out, chill out.

(40:16):
It's a huge accomplishment though, Likethat's that is a milestone. That is
a professional milestone. So I getit. So Nia get on Twitter the
world like the rest of us.Nia isn't a bit of a funk.
And she entertains the thought of cancelingdinner when Miranda reminds her, remember Michelin
Star, Like just last episode, girl, you're talking about, you know,

(40:38):
cutting off your arm and giving itto and would if it were served
by a Michelin Star chef, youwould you would eat it. So it's
like, let me remind you thatyou you'd probably have more fun being around
people looking forward to this event thatyou've been looking forward to, versus you
know, sulking in the confines ofyour own apartment, and little did she

(40:59):
know what to expect. My god, the beauty, the beauty of life.
Okay, well let's let's go tobreak and then back. I think
we get to the dinner and thenwe can get to the mess. Yes,
all right, Welcome back to We'reJust Like That, which is the
unofficial recap podcast for Max's original series. And Just like That. I am

(41:22):
shar and I'm joined with my friendand co host Denver, and we are
recapping season two, episode eleven, the Last Supper on Trey. We'll part
two on Trey. And now we'reactually at the supper. It's it's dinner
time and everyone is arriving and theyare dressed down, especially Miranda. Oh

(41:43):
my gosh, she hasn't arrived yet, but that dress was everything. I
was so overwhelmed by the fashions.I couldn't even single anyone out. I
was like, oh, she looksgreat. Oh damn, she looks great.
Okay, everybody just looks great.Yes, it was. It was
good. And we get Charlotte catchingup with the Wex leaves when she notices
that LTW was drinking Dead Giveaway,Dead Giveaway, and LTW then reveals to

(42:07):
Charlotte that she miscarried, and inthat moment, Harry pops up fresh from
the Apple store. Another Denver referencefresh from the Apple store was Charlotte's new
iPhone fourteen Pro Max. Because weknow Charlotte's iPhone, we didn't I forgot

(42:30):
to mention that when Anthony came over. When Charlotte says, well, why
didn't he call first, It's like, girl, your iPhone is in a
picture of Margarita's. Did you forget? Which I well, I guess because
it's part two, Because I'm like, oh, so this episode was just
one day apart from the last one. But I get it because it's two
different parts, so it makes sense. M My favorite little tidbit from this

(42:50):
moment was as soon as Alsa toldCharlotte, she basically had to say not
here because Charlotte was about to gointo full down. Charlotte was about to
start Charlotte NG. We did notwaste a beat again, not here,
Yes, not here, girl, not here. Our next scene we get
Anthony and just Zeppi arriving and againthey're still you know, it's still that

(43:15):
tongue in cheek man woman discourse becauseJeff's after you jokes after you unless that
makes you the woman. We're stillon this. Yeah, it's only been
one day. Yes it's been aweek for us, but one day for
them. This is still a hottopic in their relationship. Then we're back

(43:37):
in the apartment. Lisette introduces herselfto Chay because Lisette is a fan of
their podcast, and she asks ifsomething if there's something that she should be
looking out for from Chay, andChay says that they're transitioning. And I
noticed that, you know, chatook a beat after saying that, because
I definitely looked up. But then, yeah, they took a beat.

(44:00):
They took an artistic liberty with deliveringthat line. But Jay reveals that they're
transitioning emotionally, and they say theold meat is fucked and the new meat
isn't here yet. They're in theircocoon stage. Thoughts. I mean,
I appreciate the honesty. I mean, at first, I wasn't sure whether
I was supposed to laugh at thetransitioning joke or not, or if it
was a joke. I was kindof caught. I was kind of stuck

(44:22):
for a second. But as toprogress, I was like, Okay,
I see what you did there. But I'm happy for Jay. I'm glad
that they've come to this realization becauseI think that's okay. And I think
people we often we always feel likewe have to more people one thing,
we need to come to this realization, or we have to be where we
think we're going, or we haveto be somewhere, and sometimes it really

(44:44):
is okay to just be in between. Yes, more people need to come
to this realization, but that requiresan incredible amount of self awareness, self
reflection and vulnerability, and a lotof us are scared to go there.
I'm assuming that it came from Judy. I think maybe Judy have made me.
Oh yeah, Judy. You know, Judy be reading the eyes out

(45:07):
of chack, Judy mouth too smart, Judy be reading the eyes out of
check. But I did love theyou know, the whole cocoon stage and
Lassett's Butterfly jewelry. Now that isof course always linked to physical transition as
well for a lot of trans people. Butterfly's cocoons, mermaids, all that

(45:30):
fun stuff. Then walking through thefront door at Jackie's back, And I'm
not talking about Jennifer Lewis, I'mtalking about Carrie's co worker with Smoke,
his girlfriend. We have not seenJackie or Smoke since the first episode when
Smoke ruined Carrie's moment, almost ruinedCarrie's moment at the met Gala. Yeah,

(45:51):
and I'm kind of glad actually becausewhen they came into scene, I
was more annoyed than anything. Reallywhy, I don't know, something just
came over me. I just Irealized just how we just didn't really need
them this whole season. But it'sthe podcasters reunited. I know, something
about Jackie's humor is just kind ofstale to me now, like the whole

(46:14):
stuff. Well, Jackie's Jackie's humorgoes hand in hand with Chay's humor because
that's how Smoke tells the set. This is how stand ups greet each other.
So because Jackie immediately got to roastingChay about that failed pilot, that
failed TV pilot. But then weget Naia and Miranda. They arrive when

(46:37):
they run into Chef Toussaint, whoowns bar team that he owned it,
m I don't know if he wasgiven a chance to and and where Nia
was you know at that time,Who's to say she would have cared because
he immediately is enamored with her,as we see, but they both make

(47:00):
quite the impression on one another. She of course remembers him, and I
thought it was so it was souh, I'll say groundbreaking. That's the
word that comes to mind, thathe actually remembers her. And I say
that because he owns this bar,and I imagine that you know, there's
a lot of foot traffic and alot of people there, but he remembers

(47:22):
her by proxy of her giant pursebeing used as like this rampart blockage.
You remember we were making jokes aboutthat's something that I have. I carry
giant totes. If I don't havethe small telfie. All of my purses
are like mid size to I dolike a giant handbag. Though, could

(47:45):
standing in the way between you andyour tucsons? No, no, no,
excuse me. I don't ever usemy purse as a as a wall.
But I did think that that wascharming that he remembered her, and
quite embarrassing, but that's how heremembered her, Like girl, you weren't
interested in and even saying hi whenI saw you a few months ago.

(48:08):
But they are clearly like tuned intoone another, and I was like,
okay, Like I was smiling earto ear during this moment with Naya and
Toussan because I need my sister toget a win. Yeah, I was
too. I was too, andI was surprised that she was laying it
on so thick and continued to butin this moment, I was like,
Okay, she's actually kind of likegoing for it. She didn't play it.

(48:30):
That's for a while, as assomeone else, as as as a
as another person who lays it onthick. Quite myself when I'm in the
mood, it can be fun, especially if you all are dancing to the
same beat of the drum. Andno, I didn't mean to rhyme that

(48:51):
it can be fun, but uhI did love now. I did laugh
at the part where Naya dismisses Mirandaand Miranda says back, and she's like,
your back is fine, bitch, leave, Like, oh, we
should mention that Carrie was using tosnt's I mean using Lassette's kitchen because her
kitchen is an easy bake oven andto SNT, I guess, I guess

(49:15):
downstairs it's been renovated by the twogay guys that Lassette is subleasing from and
it's just a better kitchen, it'sa better apartment, better set up,
which was really smart. I thinkof the writers to kind of like incorporate
that because it just gave them alot more space to play in this episode.
Yes, that's really brilliant touch.I also was thinking, like,
damn, how is Carrie gonna getsixteen people in her damn apartment? I

(49:37):
still insist Denver that Carrie's apartment getsbigger and bigger. Well, her old
apartment now gets bigger and bigger everytime we end it, because there's just
no way sixteen people can fit inthere when barely four, barely three others
could fit in there typically, Butwhere were the other neighbors? Are They
just not home? They not comeout to see what was going on.

(49:58):
I think about that to open apartments. I mean, I know there's not
just two apartments in that building.Yeah, and it's in and out,
and you know, it was justI never do, especially in New York,
especially in twenty twenty three, saidlook, you never know. Our

(50:19):
next scene is it actually takes placein Carrie's kitchen, where Miranda rolls up
on Chay and says, look, she cuts straight to the Chase we cannot
ruin Carrie's thing, okay because lawyersand uh, Chay kind of get because
Chays in the middle of taking ashot, and Chase says, I will
never do those jokes or talk aboutyou on stage again. But then Chay,

(50:45):
let me ask your opinion on this, because Jay mentions in a cheeky
way that it was motivated because Mirandanever returned. Because Miranda's like, I
thought we ended on good terms.Like I gagged at that comedy set because
I thought we ended on good terms. But but Chay men that Miranda never
returned their calls and ghost it theirtexts. Yeah, so it was like
a revenge plot. Like that doesn'tmake any sense to me. I mean,

(51:07):
and I'm somebody who feels like, you know, Chay should have liberty
to make jokes about their relationship.I need to understand why they were trying
to put I mean, why theywere trying to blame Miranda's actions for their
bad jokes. Yeah. I didnot understand that either, because even if
we did end on good terms,it's still a breakup and I need my

(51:29):
space and I don't understand, Like, oh, okay, I'll say this,
if we break up and you're callingand texting me and I don't answer,
leave me alone, like or giveme space. Let let give me
an opportunity to respond to you onmy own time, like we just broke

(51:52):
up. Miranda does not, ohChay a response in text or a phone
call at all, because we don'tgo together anymore. And that was the
foundation of us even being cruel jokesbeyond me, you know, And that's
why I said, be responsible withyour word. If Chay would not have
said that to Miranda's face, thenshe shouldn't have been on stage. That's

(52:13):
why. That's why they were soflustered in the kitchen about this and mentioned
that they will never mention Miranda's nameon stage again or tell those jokes.
And so Miranda then of course goesinto the whole like, well we were
a good train wreck, things liketrying to you know, what's left of

(52:35):
whatever relationship. And I think Itook this as an effort to for Miranda
to rehab, you know, she'sstill I think Miranda's still dealing with Naya
saying like I want to be asgood as you with throwing my exes away,
like we see Miranda take steps toreconnect with Steve, and now we're
seeing her take steps to at leastbe cordial with Chay because clearly chain going

(52:58):
nowhere for the time being as Carrie'sfriend. You know. So I thought
that that was pretty big of Miranda. Instead of pushing up against the tide,
she's going with the flow of things, and just you know, we
ain't got to be yes, thenwe get Sema and Ravvie they arrive,
and then we're back to Giuseppie likeit's just Semen Robbie like arriving to say

(53:22):
hi. But then yeah, itbounces back. So but then Giseeppe reveals
in casual conversation that he's returning toItaly next month, and he's not certain
whether or not he's coming back toNew York because New York, New York's
publishing is impenetrable. First of all, that would have pissed me off.

(53:43):
That whole thing would have pissed meoff if I were Anthony. There's no
reason I should be hearing this forthe first time baby and listen conversations to
make a joke. No, iflike that is something I totally agreed Denver
that will never fly over with meif we are dating or intimate, and

(54:06):
and then you've got a crowd ofpeople and you're drop in news where I'm
even gagging, like we're all learningthis at the same time that I'll never
fly over with me. But Idid laugh at what are the odds that
you know Giseeppe's fishing for word todescribe New York's publishing and how it's just
such a challenge and the word thatsuggested is impenetrable given that Gizeppe is trying

(54:29):
to top Anthony and Anthony everything aboutAnthony is impenetrable. His heart. Oh,
I didn't even put to it becauseHarry knows the tea. So is
Harry being messy? Not Golden Blatwas being messy? U scrabble? I

(54:52):
love scrabble. Yeah, Scrabble's okay. It can get violent, like spades,
I said, did you know that? So I used. I don't
play spades. But I used theword felliniesque recently, and I could have
sworn feliniesque as a word. Istill maintain that it's a word. Everybody
that was with me, Yes,that is what I meant. I meant

(55:15):
I was telling a childhood story, and I said my way of describing how
I was light on my feet andcould sneak around, and this is me
at like seven, I said Iwas very felini esque, which I was.
You know, I could bend andtiptoe. And everybody's like, chart,
that's not a word, And tome, it is a word,
felini esque. I mean it haslike the etymology of a word. I

(55:36):
mean, I got what you meant. I struggled when I got to Google
and trying to prove my point becauseI didn't really see what I was looking
for. But I maintained in theMirriam Webster charge, i'sel felini Esque is
a word. Thank you very much, thank you. I'm definitely planned it

(55:57):
on scrabble. So so then weget Sema Seema and carry there. They're
having a moment together because Robbie isquote always on his phone. Seema still
seems to be cringing over the Ilove you that she said a few days

(56:19):
ago. Our sister begins to spiralDenver. She brings we learned some of
the trauma. Shout out to JamieLee Curtis some of the trauma from her
nineties temp job and everything that happenedwith that, we know, we know
an additional component that adds to Seemabasically with her giving us this backstory,

(56:43):
and she ends up telling Carrie thisis how Robbie starts to pull away.
And I loved this moment because Carrieimmediately checked her and suggested, maybe you're
the one pulling away because you're operatingfrom a place of fear. And I
said, silent retweet like this, this feels extremely personal. I knew you

(57:04):
would feel that way. I feelsextremely personal. Notes I have shart star
and I also have a mama's actingbecause I loved, I loved just see
those facial expressions in this scene.I mean emotion going through it. Carry's
like, well, what if thisis like you're running away? You might

(57:27):
be running away because this might bereal. This is what you've been waiting
for and you're scared to death likeI'm gagging. And then when Carrie said
you are not attempt I said, yeah, wow, that might be why

(57:47):
I wait, Denver, you stillthere? I'm still here? Okay.
That might be why I pushed backso hard against Nash's comment because I see,
especially these last few episodes, Ihave seen so much of myself in
Sema. And I know that lastyear when we were on Twitter spaces when
Seema's character was first introduced, weboth were kind of saying that, But

(58:09):
like this season, there is alot of parallels between Sear and Seema.
I'm just gonna be honest, thereare lots of parallels. Yeah, I
mean here's the thing, Like peoplecan't be strong all the time, especially
when it comes dealing with relationships. And we had to figure out that,
Like how Sema approaches men, ithas to come from somewhere, you know

(58:30):
what I mean. Yeah, ithas to always be you know, I'm
the boss, boss bitch. Yeah, yeah, it can't be that all
the time. And it's also becauserelationships require a certain level of vulnerability if
you really want the relationship like itrequires that, that's the risk. Like
you're putting yourself out there, youputting your heart out there, You're letting

(58:50):
walls down. And she was dealingwith Carrie, I mean she was so
I think self assured and how shefelt and what she was doing. But
with Robbie, like we actually getto fear, like she's afraid. Yes,
we actually need to see what doesSeema look like afraid, Yeah,
yeah, yeah, yeah, wowwhat a woman again. This is you

(59:15):
know, another episode where they're parallels, certain like minor parallels, but there
still exists between Sema and Anthony becausethen we get Anthony and Giseeppe. They're
arguing in Carrie's closet and it's aboutagain walls being up an asshall and other
walls like and you know, Anthonyadmits that he has issues again vulnerability,

(59:42):
what is required? Anthony just stopsfighting it and mentions that he has issues.
He's only been in love one timebefore, and in that love he
called all the shots, so he'snot used to the way that this relationship
is functioning versus you know, hisformer really ship with Stanford blatch Yeah.
I mean it's super relatable. Imean, I think it's somebody who's been

(01:00:05):
in you know, his fair share. I mean, when you're used relationships
being one way and then you're inone and it's a completely different way,
it's definitely an adjustment. You haveto take a lot of avability into,
like you know, who are you, what are you standing for? Why?
Why does this have to be thisway? What got you? How
do you get out of here?Do you want to get out of here,
you know what I mean. It'sa lot of that, and I

(01:00:27):
think Anthony's kind of going through thatin a real time and maybe not.
And keep in mind these people arein and keep in mind these people are
in their fifties. So if ifwell, I'm going to use eye statements,
if I in my mid thirties stillsometimes struggle with being challenged by certain
behavior patterns and things that have beenthere my whole I can only imagine,

(01:00:52):
you know, being in your fiftiesand having the formula I'm using air quotes,
but the formula in which you havethey're purposefully or and it burdenly lived
and abided your life. By havingthat be challenged is a task. I
imagine you don't realize, you don'trealize how many of your ways are actually

(01:01:12):
set until they are challenged. Youknow how you are? That is true.
That is true. Our next scene, we get LTW. She storms
into the bathroom and Herbert follows andshe is going back and forth with herself
did she wish the baby away?I loved every single thing about this scene.

(01:01:44):
Me too, And I think Iloved it because we saw a different
at least I'm gonna again use eyestatements. I saw a different side of
Herbert. Oh absolutely absolutely, Andit's like I didn't know I saw why
Lisa married him in this moment, but the entire series. Because that Herbert

(01:02:07):
didn't show up. It was easyfor me to be like, oh girl,
you know, with with without withforgetting. You know how multidimensional people
can be at times, and thatdoes not I'm not saying one cancels out
the other, because Herbert Wexley doesget on my damn nerves for the most
part. But this scene was sosweet. That's the word I was used.

(01:02:30):
He was in like full partner modeand not like business partner or like
you know, like work partner. It was just emotional support. Yes,
he talks her off the ledge. He talks off the ledge and reminds her
that thoughts are only thoughts, whichI need on a post it on my
being Mary Jane mirror. Thoughts areonly thoughts, you know, there's nothing

(01:02:52):
to feel guilty about. It justwasn't meant to be. God has other
plans for us. Like it justwas a sweet seeing. I loved everything
about it. I loved everything aboutit. Yeah, it gave me that
he might be one of the onlypeople who can actually talk her down from
a ledge. Mmmm yeah yeah. And I'm like, am I that deprived

(01:03:13):
from vulnerability coming from men on aromantic level? Or is Herbert just a
great husband? I think he's agreat husband. So now we're at the
dinner and I think, get intoit. I think before we get into
it, I think, were yougonna take a break? Okay, let's
do it now, right, Okay? And we're back with We are just

(01:03:37):
like that the unofficial recap podcast fromMax's And just like that, I am
Denver and I am joined by mylovely co host Sear and we are tits
deep and discussing episode eleven, thefinale, the Last Supper, Part two
entree. And I think we're atback at dinner. Am I right?
I licked the spoon after the blackone? Yes, we're at dinner.

(01:04:02):
This is what she got on mynerves. This is no other people here,
We're not here by ourselves. Itdon't matter no matter, Nia,
get you a piece. Ain't nokids present, We're all adults. NIA,
get you a piece on the table. At this point, I must

(01:04:26):
say, as a foodie, Iwanted and I also enjoy olives. I
know people are Okay, you too, Okay, Sean over here in Grease
eating olives every day, okay becauseolives me too, Me too. Olives
are something that me and my friendJames bonded over because over food, because

(01:04:47):
so many people hate them and weenjoy a good olive. I'm gonna bring
you I'm gonna bring you some.I'm eating these packets here because they have
them everywhere. I'm gonna bring yousome. I'm bringing you some. Yes,
I love. Like. My runningjoke is that I was never a
picky eater, and I was fouryears old eating Supreme pizza with black olives
on the pizza. Like I wasnever one of those kids. I was

(01:05:09):
like, just give me cheese.I'll do one better. I was four
years old eating black olives out ofthe can and put them on. Oh
my gosh, they're good. They'regood. So I'd venture to say you
and I both would try this appetizerbecause I want to lick the spoon and
have those jealous I was like, don't need to find a tangerine essence,

(01:05:30):
because that's actually Even though I'm nota fan of a lot of Michelin restaurants,
I think, well, I'm nota fan. This may sound so
trashy. I'm not the biggest fanof fine dining. And when I say
fine dining, I don't mean likeokay, so we're on the same page
with that. For me, it'sa portion. It's not really a flavored
thing per se, but it's aportion and portion versus price and the experience

(01:05:53):
is never worth it. I wantto eat too. I wanted to taste
good, yes, but I wantto eat like, don't give me like
a fucking cracker on a piece ofwith a little caviar. Yes, yes,
I went when I the last timeI did find well, the last
time I participated in fine dining wastwo years ago when I went to Hawaii.

(01:06:15):
We went to a restaurant and Ispent hundreds of dollars and still was
hungry. Like everything was like,oh, half a scallop and a little
you know, drips, A littledrips on my plate? What them with
drips on my plate? I can'teat this, I can't lick it,
Like what are these drips? Even? I love that you and I are

(01:06:36):
the same, because baby, youcould take me down to the cheesecake factory
on any given day and I'm notgonna put up a fight. You could
take me down to the chilies onany gift, like I don't mind a
yard house, I don't mind achain like. I mean, of course,
I have my my favorites and mythe ones that I that are my
ick. But I'm just not afan of fine I like nice restaurants,

(01:06:58):
but I need the restaurant ex periodin the food to match. Yes,
absolutely satisfying apps, so fricking lutely. So I love that we're on the
same page. But I would havewent to this because it's free and it's
with a friend and you know, this table in their apartment and stuff like.
I would participation and I could hitcanes on the way home afterwards.
Yeah I'm still hungry. Or youcould do like what's old girl from RONI

(01:07:21):
who went to go to to Nobuafter the party on the most reason too.
Yes, I've been there before.Uh So then we get so,
then we get Robbie and Seema. They're chatting and Robbie reveals that his filming
dates have been flipped and he hasto leave New York for Egypt like tonight.

(01:07:44):
Seema is still like okay, Sowhen we mentioned earlier about Seema and
Carrie's conversation. One of the thingsis that when Carrie went back to entertaining
the party, Sema was still doingher breath work, like Sema was still
taking her you know, doing herbreath work and ground herself. But Seema
just finally lets the cat out ofthe bag and she addresses what she feels.

(01:08:05):
It's like Robbie desmits, she feelslike Robbie dismissed the I love you
that she said, and I loveyeah, yeah, I mean, but
I love that Robbie seems to bethere, seems to be a little it's
a dash of patience and impatience comingfrom Robbie because I like that he cuts

(01:08:26):
to the chase. But I feellike Sema needs that type Like I feel
like we all need to be reassured, but I feel like Sema needs that
kind of like she's coming straight outthe gate, the gate with it,
and so she needs her partner tooas well. And I love it.
He's like, are you go ahead? Go ahead? No, no,
no, no, go ahead.I just was saying, I love when
he said, you know, areyou seriously can are you seriously? Suggesting

(01:08:48):
I concocted a fake Egyptian emergency becauseI have a fear of commitment. I
mean, I feel from my girls, Sema, she kind of got her
face cracked twice. I feel likecarry cracked it a little bit, and
then I feel like Robbie came andkind of cracked it again. Yeah,
bad way, but just you know, just kind of telling her exactly what
she needs to hear. Yeah.Yeah, because she's bringing up stuff and

(01:09:12):
he's like, look, boo,I hadn't ticked or talked since we met,
and he checks her about her insecurity. It's like jeopardizing what they're building.
I think he could have been gentler. I mean, you think he
could have been a little bit moregentle in his delivery. I mean it
was kind of harsh, but thenI don't know if Seema would have received
it the same way. Yeah.It was almost like I couldn't tell if

(01:09:34):
he was angry with her or ifhe was like trying to convince her that
he's with the ships. It wasalmost like it felt like Robbie's delivery would
be the equivalent of getting a splashof cold water in the face, and
I feel like that's what Seema neededto like snap out of it. You
know, it's like he wanted tolike physically shake her like girl. Yes,

(01:09:56):
wait a minute, yes he checkedher and let her like I said,
your insecurity in so many words, could possibly be jeopardizing what we're building.
Relax, bring it on down,go with the flow. But that's
hard for someone like Sema. Remindme, Remind me is Robbie. He's
an actor? Right? I thinkhe's a director because she called him a
second rate Spielberg. He might beboth. I feel like he might be

(01:10:20):
both. I feel like when wewere introduced to him in the in the
real estate office, he was anactor and then later he might be both.
But remember he's a director because rememberwhat's the Bangkok or whatever aid and
on kaal nick now or whatever thefilm was. So now we're back in

(01:10:41):
the apartment and I you know me, Corniol char loved this scene. In
honor of letting this place go,Carrie wants everyone to go around the table
and share something that they want tolet go of. One word and no
repeats. So denver we already hada call are earlier on our speak pipe
on Carrie's closet confessions say with theirword would be what would your word be

(01:11:06):
what what are you? What doyou want to let go of? Hm?
I mean one word has to beone word, one word you.
I'm gonna say judgment. Oh,not just of others, but of myself.

(01:11:30):
Like I feel like I'm really hardon myself, and I feel like
I have to put things out thatare perfect or they have to be,
you know, my most fully realizedvision, and if not, I feel
like I just judge myself really hard. Or if somebody else puts something else
out and it's not that, Ifeel like I judge it really hard.
So I kind of want to letthat go. That's a good one.

(01:11:53):
Mine would definitely, yeah that thatthat's a good one. Mine would definitely
be one that has all already beenshared. I mean it's fifteen words that
are all good that have been shared, fifteen sixteen words mine. I really
liked Naya saying yesterday because I knowit's the same for me as far as,

(01:12:15):
like, you know, kind ofI don't want to say holding onto
things that don't serve me anymore, because that's not necessarily the case. But
I do know that I have atendency to sometimes romanticize the past, and
I think That's why I'm such astickler for journaling to be like, no,
sister, this is what was happeningin real time, or you forgot
about this. You're amplifying all thegood moments, but look at this,

(01:12:36):
and that's like across the board. And so in an effort to move forward
with the more sound mind and beinga well rounded individual and being self aware
and caring and loving and giving andall those great adjectives, it's like letting
go of yesterday because you can't evenwith romanticizing it. That's done with,

(01:12:57):
it's gone. It's over. Thoseversions of myself are done. They're gone,
and they're over. Like I haveto move forward and step into a
more refined, a more polished,a better version of shar constantly moving forward.
That's the name of the game forme. I love that. I
mean, I really wanted to sayfear of failure, but that one word

(01:13:18):
I couldn't really use fear, andthen failure doesn't really make sensense. Well,
you could have used fear. Fearwas Lasette's word, and then fear
fear is so it's so vague, like it's not specific enough. Now with
that, like a fear of whatjust everything. I mean, yes,
yes, bitch, yes, fearof you have to be afraid. Sometimes

(01:13:41):
fear will save your life. Itwill. But it makes me think of
the Nina Simone quote where she saysthat freedom to her means no fear.
That's what freedom means, and that'sI think that's what Lassette meant personally.
Yeah. Maybe, well here's what. I don't think it's as literal as
like being a afraid of rattlesnakes orsomething. I don't think it was that

(01:14:01):
literal, Denver. No, Idon't think it was that literal. But
I mean, there are a lotof things that I'm not afraid of.
You know what I mean. Okay, Okay, you are an aries.
Okay, what were you saying thoughI was saying. But what I do
want is I want everyone for ournext week's episode, everyone who has called
in to leave a speak pipe orif you haven't yet, now is your
chance call in, give us aword and why? Oh will you tell

(01:14:28):
them again? Speakpipe dot com slash. We're just like that, Give us
a word, tell us why?And Denver, I love that prompt because
you know we're about to enter thenext quarter of the year in a few
weeks and let's finish this year offstrong. What are you what are you
letting go of? Especially as wetransit, I think, what is it

(01:14:49):
autumn? Fall, start September twentysecond, that'll be here before you know
it. That's like a month away. So what do you want to let
go of? What are you leavingin the summer? What are you leaving
in the first few you know, quarters of the year. Let's finish strong,
Guys, I thought you corny.Oh no, no, no,

(01:15:09):
god, no, no, no, no, no no. But what
I was going to say, isit when Carrie sit up to do this,
I immediately thought. I was like, and I knew you would get
this, but I was like, this is such a like a Lisa Renna
ask games. Yes. But Ilove shit like this because it's a way
to get to know people that youmay not know, Like it's to me
that's bonding with the table, becausewith sixteen people fifteen sixteen people at the

(01:15:30):
table, there's at least six differentconversations going on. So I love shit
like this. I love you know. It happens at birthday parties where people
go around and tell people you know, why they love them and why they
value them in their lots like Ilike shit like that. I like it
as long as it's coming from anauthentic place. Well, let me ask
you this, who had your favoriteword? Oh god, I'd say Charlotte

(01:15:56):
with limits. And I said Charlotteand carry limits. They all were so
good. Chase said rules, Uh, but Carrie said expectations. I loved
that, Charlotte said limits. Didyou notice that Herbert said come back to
him and we never got a wordfrom him. Did you notice idea?

(01:16:16):
So I'd say those those two stoodout for me. What about you?
I would say control? I thinkcontrols out to me. Control, and
I would say limits, limits,Yeah, yeah, I want to release
myself from limitate, self imposed limitations, limitations from society. But that was

(01:16:43):
good. I loved that scene, and I felt like they this was the
perfect way because when they filmed this, of course, they didn't know whether
or not they were going to berenewed, And had this show not been
renewed, I feel like this seasontwo finale would have been the perfect way
to just end the series. Havethis. Yeah, it was done in
a good way. I can't waitto listen to the Writer's Room podcast and
see what they had to say,and I noticed that the couples were bonding.

(01:17:08):
A lot of the couples were bondingwith their one word, you know,
the wex sleeves and the golden blats, like people were bonding. I
felt like Harry was affirming Charlotte.I forgot what his word was, but
I felt like he was affirming Charlotte. But yeah, they are were so
beautiful. But I love that Carrierounds it on up with expectations and you

(01:17:29):
know, gets on her soapbox ofthe hope of tomorrow. You never know
what it will bring, you know, really beautiful. Yeah, it was
really good. So then the partyis winding down when suddenly Miranda has to
go. Child Raina can't go tothis interview Rand basically the BBC needs to
talk to I forgot who Miranda's interningfor, but Raina's with her newborn baby,

(01:17:54):
and so she asked Miranda to go. Now, this is something that
I've not been in a situation identicalto this, but I've been in one
similar to this, and I wouldhave been highly highly pissed. Do not
have me out, even if I'min my Sunday's best. When I got
my mind and body set on likerelaxing for the evening and dinner and cocktails.

(01:18:16):
Don't then call me with the fivealarm fire expecting me to be on
international broadcast having an interview like andI say, this happened to me really
quickly. I'll share this really quickstory that happened in Lockdown in the pandemic.
Basically, I misread it was forthe bt Awards. I still was
on radio at the time. Iwas filling in for the afternoon show and

(01:18:41):
we were pre recording a lot ofstuff and then we would start live.
And so I misread beets email becausenormally the Beet Awards take place live from
the West Coast. Well, baby, in the pandemic, they you know
it was I think Amanda Seals hosted, and I remember it was like green
screen and shit in the pandemic.Yes, but in the pandemic. They

(01:19:05):
sent the email out to me inmy outlet, and I totally somehow in
my calendar and my comings and goingchild. Don't ask me. I can't
remember. I was having vodka forbreakfast in Lockdown, but I did not
see that God damn Eastern Standard timeon that email. And what ends up

(01:19:26):
happening, and I have witnesses tothis. Shout out to producer Jesse and
James James Q Simmons, doctor James. He was co hosting with me that
day. Is that I was doingthe radio show, and when the radio
would go on commercial breaks, Iwould literally get up from my couch,
come to my broadcast chair, fireup these like the lights would be on,
and then do interviews. So it'dbe like I'm literally talking to the

(01:19:48):
Clark's sisters about their film in Lifetimeand da da da, and trying to
hurry up because we're one minute outfrom the live show on the radio,
and literally just hopping back and forthfor at least an hour. I kid
you not, Denver, I didnot have a moment's rest, Like,
thank God, thank God that Iover prepare. So I already had studied

(01:20:10):
the radio show's rundown. I knewwhat I was talking about, you know,
And I let James like James wassteering the show and I was just
there because they knew what situate.Because I basically could not drop the ball
for the outlet that I was workingwith, and these these interview times for
Zoom, and so it worked outthat the et only gave each outlet,

(01:20:30):
I think like two or three minuteswith talent, and that just so happened
to be how long commercial breaks wereon the radio. So that's when Miranda
was doing this. And I knowthat those are two you know, extreme
examples or whatever, but it justmade me think of being that flustered because
when I woke up that morning,I was like, all I have is
the radio to do. It's afour hour radio show, and then I'm

(01:20:53):
released, and then it's like someonefrom beet there pr text me like,
hey, shuar, are you hoppingon zoom? I had a name that
I have makeup on. I didn'teven have makeup on Denver. Like,
I was not glam. I wasnot ready. I threw on some reading
glasses and I did what I hadto do and shout out to Saint John
because he called me beautiful and thatmade me feel really, really good because

(01:21:14):
I was not in my regale yet. He was like he's still a beautiful
black queen or some shit. It'son YouTube, but yeah. So I
relate it to Miranda to an extentin this moment because it's like I just
came to kick it and now I'mfrantic and running across town to fifty second
Street to be live on air.But as Miranda reveals that she's going to

(01:21:39):
be on air, you know, for the BBC, and carrys like,
we'll watch, We'll be watching.Naya and Toussaint are together. The night
is over, and he offers hera ride home. What'd you think about
this? Is? I think Miranda'snot the only one dealing with BBC tonight.

(01:21:59):
And think about it. It's notthe first time I rand is that
would be either it's not. It'snot shout out to Blair Underwood. You
know, they were just talking aboutreally quickly. I guess that terrible,
perhaps the worst episode of Sex inthe City when Samantha dated a black man,
perhaps the most the worst. Likeit did not age well, it
didn't. It didn't even farewell whenit was live on air. But like

(01:22:23):
it is terrible from a twenty twentythree lens. But go ahead, No,
my favorite thing is he was,you know, basically saying his favorite
way to Harlem is through Brooklyn,And you know, baby, those two
different continents, those are two differentcontinents because I still have not been to
Harlem, and I'm convinced that.My man, people have told me listens,

(01:22:45):
the people who live in New Yorkis like, sure, yo,
man, it is probably because okay, because for context. Okay, now
now we're in tangent mode for context. Every single time I go to New
York for the most part, likeyou know, I have two sisters,
both of them live in Brooklyn.Okay, not together, They're across town
in Brooklyn, but I typically stayin Williamsburg. And then outside of that,

(01:23:13):
I'm like in New York City proper, like I'm in Manhattan, going
to go see the view or restaurant. Like I just have never ventured.
The only borough that I've ever beento is Brooklyn, and I've been.
I wrote the what is it theStaten Island Ferry, I did that,
But I've never experienced Harlem or theBronx and none of that. And I've
been to New York. I thinkI go like two or three times a

(01:23:34):
year at this point. But I'malways like with my sisters or working,
Like if I'm flowing out there forwork, all of the work is in
Manhattan or Lower East Side or whatever. That's crazy. I'm I'm fighting to
stay out of Harlem when I'm inNew York because I'm all my friends live
there, but I never I neverstay there. I'm always in either sho
or Lower East Side. But theyalways wanted to come up to Harlem.

(01:23:54):
And I'm like, no, bitch, is fucking fo I need to go
to Like literally, I've had afew people, and I won't nay drop,
but I've had a few people tellme, bitch, you need to
take your ass, get your blackass to Harlem. They would stop you
up with a biscuit. So Iwant, I want to experience, but
I feel like they would be ableto sniff the la on me. It's

(01:24:15):
something like it's I'm too happy, you know, but they like that though.
Well we'll see, because you know, I'm a sucker for a strong
accent and a and a sturdy walks. Actually I had my I'm not gonna
tell that story. Tell me off, because you know, I think I'm
gonna go back to New York ina few months actually, and I might
make it my my mission to goto Harlem. Did you say the US

(01:24:41):
driver? Yes I did. Itwasn't harm but I don't need nobody ruining
my life. Okay, uh,find you somebody else. To play with
ups. But so yes, Ithought I was very excited. Again,
if you all cannot tell by theaudio, I'm smiling right now because when
I tell ya, I am sohappy. I feel like Naya is like

(01:25:05):
some kin to me, Like Ifeel like I know her, and I'm
so happy. Do you know her? We do know her? Like I
want to be on the goddamn groupFaceTime call with her other girlfriends. And
bitch filled me in on tucsont okay, because I would have been with tucsont
too, like he that is ahandsome man. And so then we see
Robbie and Seema. They pick uptheir conversation, you know that's they're having

(01:25:29):
a conversation, and he invites. He ends up inviting Sema to Egypt for
five months, and she declines, what'd you think she was vulnerable in this
scene? She said, I'm terrified. Yeah, well, she said she's
not gonna give up the woman. She's would come for a man. And
I think that was a very Semaresponse. I think she really appreciated the
offer, but I don't think therewas a way in hell she would she
would ever go. No, Ithink it's too early too. I think

(01:25:53):
I could see her doing it eventually, but it's a huge compromise, especially
you know how factory when you lovewhat you do. She loves her job,
she loves the woman that she is, and then asking someone to go
somewhere and live somewhere for five monthsis a lot, especially if I don't
have nothing to do, right,Yeah, Like that's a lot to ask.

(01:26:15):
I love that position. But Ido like that he offered. It
was something charming about that, Ido, But I don't think he meant
it. He knew Semen was gonnasay now right, I would say,
I think he offered knowing she wouldsay no. Yes. Part of me
wanted him to just turn down thejob. Really yeah, I mean,
you're a director. You can alreadyafford this apartment, Like, what do

(01:26:38):
you need to do this job?Right now? Right when we are getting
to you know? But baby, this ain't this for a new Marvel film.
He got a check to get butthere's a thousand Marvel films, Like,
who gives a shit if you're thisbig time director. I mean,
there's always going to be another movie. But Denver, he may also like
what he does, Like I wouldn'tturn down. Yeah, I was about

(01:26:59):
to say I wouldn't turned down, and someone's like, oh, shar,
there's a million and one other chancesto guest co host the view. I
turn in this upcoming chance to cohost. I'm not turning end down.
I get why he didn't. I'mjust saying the romantic in me would have
wanted him to. Oh, Iknow, I have, I have my
moments. No, I think youknow, as your friend, I have

(01:27:23):
been getting a kick out of vulnerabledenver On. I feel like people who
listen to your other show, TheLove Be Scott Show, are definitely getting
a different side of you on thisshow. And I love that as a
fan of it, as a friendand a fan, I love that for
you. Oh so I love thatthat Robbie assures Seema that he's coming back

(01:27:47):
baby, he's in love with her, and yah, yeah, me too.
Then in our next I think Ithink we forgot to mention that Anthony
said it too in his own way. Oh really in the closet, but
he said it in like conversation gotyou because they were definitely tonguing each other

(01:28:10):
down when LTW and Herbert storm tothe restroom, these two keep finding,
you know, a little private cornersand rooms and they're in Anthony's friends.
Whoa that is fuck me Latin?Yeah, never mind. M m mmm.

(01:28:30):
I didn't do anything. I justwalked into the wrong room at the
wrong time. Oh did this happenin Greece? Oh yeah, oh yeah,
it surprised me that that doesn't surpriseme. All that olive oil.
It was like fifteen people. Ohwell, bone people. So uh.

(01:28:54):
Then we get Miranda arriving at theBBC when she meets Joy. What did
they think about this? I didn'texpect to see Joy again. Yeah,
I was genuinely surprised. Yeah,Joy, Joy is there, and I
guess that might have been the meetingthat they were having when they were leaving
the UN that day when it wasRaina, Miranda and Joy or wait,

(01:29:15):
is Joy the same person from theUN or is that a different person?
No, that's the same person whenthey left. Okay, okay in that
moment, okay, and I lovethis, But again with Chaos, they
don't provide context and they don't haveto write, but they don't provide contexts
as to whether Miranda was there andshe got a touch up and got briefed,
or if literally Miranda was there powderingher nose in the back of a

(01:29:38):
cab and looking at her iPhone fortalking points and hops out and just sweaty
and sitting in his chair talking tothe BBC. Like the chaos there you
would think about, because I waslike, that would have never crossed my
mind. It's only because I've beenin these situations. I still Again another
quick, very very quick story.Last year when The mar Show redid Well

(01:30:00):
The Martin Show did their thirty yearreunion for b ET. I was getting
off work again at the radio, but the red carpet started, Like the
radio station was mid Wilshirt and thispremiere was downtown and when I tell you,
my car that black is King wasflying in that traffic and it was

(01:30:21):
so chaotic, to the point wherea publicist came and escorted me through the
building because these were in lofts downtown. And when I tell you Denver,
it was so chaotic. I wasin the elevator snapping my microphone together,
like my handheld microphone, And assoon as the elevator doors opened up,
boom, You're practically right there onthe carpet. So as soon as the

(01:30:41):
elevator doors opened up, I stepout. See my camera woman, my
videographer plugged that mic in and twoseconds later, here comes Marla Gibbs down
the carpet. It's showtime. Soit's like, yeah, I do link
back like, oh god, I'mso excited for the morning show. Oh
my god. But I do alwayslike compare like some of my experiences to
like what I see, because I'mlike, is this just the shar hustle

(01:31:03):
or do other people be going throughchaotic shit like this as well? But
that's why you gotta be good atwhat you do, because I just pick
up and start talking. Yeah, the way Miranda ran out of there,
I'm pretty sure it's more like yourexperience. Yeah, And it was just
for five minutes, right, Soit wasn't It wasn't like this forty five
minute in depth interview with the BBC, So it's just five minutes. And

(01:31:25):
then Enjoys like we can hit upa bar. Miranda's like, I don't
drink. Listen say yes, yes, I was about to say. Granted,
Joy does not know that Miranda's arerecovering alcoholic. But if someone tells
you that they don't drink, youkind of just gotta leave that there.

(01:31:46):
They don't owe you an explanation. They just do not drink. So then
oh wait, oh yeah, SoCarrie's with Shoe and she's blowing out the
candles and like a tender bone, such a tender moment. And like Ryan
mentioned in his voice, note,Carrie is obsessed with Shoe and I love
this for her. You know, she's she's excited because you know the perks

(01:32:10):
of having a pet. You havea one sided conversation, even though I
don't know if that's applicable to you, because kensoll be talking back, baby,
listen, we have full blown conversationstoo. Way kenso be talking means
him and his heater. Okay,I only say that. I was just

(01:32:33):
telling the listeners. I only saythat because, yes, Denver's dot,
Kenzo has his own little personal heater. He runs cold. It's cold.
It is ridiculous to see in person. Truly, it is ridiculous, but
I love it. Kenzo lives acharmed life. You all he does.
He does. But go ahead, but I was gonna say, I think

(01:32:54):
this might make carry the chicest catlady I've ever seen. I mean,
yeah, yeah, and I likedher. It starts with one, yeah,
you get two and you get threeeven those. As a cat lover,
I don't see myself like I'm okaywith you know, I could see
myself having two cats, and that'swhere the buck stops, you know,

(01:33:15):
people, And I know I'm inthe minority being a black girl who likes
cats because a lot of black peopledo not like cats, but which I'm
not, Like, I legit lovecats, but I love dogs as well,
like I'm a cat and dog girl. But yeah, all of the
rumors about cats being filthy and all, like dogs are filthy, like any

(01:33:35):
animal is going to be, Iguess inherently filthy to a human. But
yes, I like cats. Andas I mentioned at the top of this
show, this is conducive to Carrie'slifestyle and my own. Like I've I
have friends that have to stop whatthey're doing or end brunch, gotta be
home by two because I gotta walkthe dog so that the dog doesn't soil

(01:33:57):
the apartment or whatever. It's justeasier to have cat. But yes,
as you mentioned, the most chiccat lady of New York City is Carrie
Bradshaw. And so then, ohthis is what I thought of you.
Now here's your time to really shineDenver. Because as Carrie's blowing out these
candles, there's a tapping at thewindow. M and who is it?

(01:34:19):
And you know you already know howI feel. I literally could not stop
thinking about you because at this pointwe didn't know what was going to happen.
But it's Aidan, Carrie's boyfriend throwingrocks at the window. She buzzes
him up and he enters the apartment. Take it away? How dare you?

(01:34:43):
How dare you? The entire reasonwe're going through this I have to
move do all this entire situation isbecause you wouldn't come in this apartment and
now you want to come in andjust like Saunter and look around. Yeah
you could have done that five weeksago. Yeah, I should also mean
that a hidden gem for me?Much money I would have saved on Airbnb's

(01:35:03):
had you just done this? Fine, and hotels and hotels it was both.
And all that extra stuff we spentdown at the home goods or whatever
again, salad tongs and pepper milk. I mean, granted, carry don't
have that stuff either, but justfactoring that in. But I definitely got
my chuckle when Carrie acknowledges that thebuzzer must be broken, and she's not

(01:35:25):
telling Lissette. I said, thisis the most New York La thing that
people do like my But for example, my buzzer and my apartment's broken.
Do you think that they told methat when I moved in, like to
this day it's still broken. Soyeah, but this is where things took
a turn. And here's right here, even more mad. So I'm gonna
let you say, and then I'mgonna come back, yeah, saying are

(01:35:47):
you ready to rage my friend? Now? Sure? Time to shine,
Aries, my dear Haries. Iam ready to rage as well. So
once she buzzes him in, Aidenenters the apartment and Carrie offers him a
drink because she's got everything, afully stocked bar. I imagine after that
party especially, and he, ofcourse the country lurch wants a beer and

(01:36:11):
carries like, I don't I haveeverything but that do you want red wine
instead? And he said, maybeyou should actually be the one having a
drink, And immediately immediately the toneof the episode shifts. I am holding
my fucking breath when he says this, because I know anytime something like this

(01:36:32):
happens, you know, some somebona fide. Bullshit is on the other
end of it, you know it. And you put out the chair and
tapped on it. Oh sick,I feel like this, you know that,

(01:36:54):
Monique a clip from Charm School.I'm really in my now. You
don't piss me off. I'm inthat bad now because why are you playing
with me? Why are you playingwith me? Why are we doing this
here? First of all, you'rein my apartment. You're clearly about to
break some bad news to me inmy apartment. Well, maybe he's here

(01:37:15):
to do Maybe he was doing itso, you know, moving forward.
Just in case things moved forward thatthe new place wouldn't be Sully. If
all the bad memories are locked intothis apartment, why not create one one
more final you know, bad memory. You know felt real petty, it
felt very shitty. Literally hate thisman. I literally hate this man.

(01:37:36):
I hate him so much so shenotices that he has no luggage. He,
like you said, taps that chair, comes sit and Aidan explains to
carry that why it needs him.Carrie's cool with it. You can see
Carries like rationalizing in real time. No, that's fine, you know,

(01:37:57):
just come back up when you needand Aiden says I don't think I can
come back up. Aiden mentions thathe has been the boys constant, which
I thought introduced an interesting this isa side bullet point. To me,
this introduced an interesting relationship dynamic betweenAiden and Kathy, given that Aiden is,

(01:38:23):
you know, this corn fed Southernerfrom Norfolk or whatever like this.
You know they don't have a traditionalmarriage. If Kathy's the one going back
and forth from China and England withthe textile factory and Aiden is at home
and as the constant for the boys, I found that to be an interesting
dynamic, especially considering Kathy's all, don't hurt my boys, Like, ma'am,

(01:38:44):
are you even there with them? You have a lot of nerve,
yes, And Kathy, you know, when she's not doing that, she's
with her boyfriend. We notice thatCarrie's like scrambling in this scene. So
then she as a result because youknow, like I said, he mentions
that Whyatt needs him right now?Why it had all this stuff shrooms,
lsd ascid, Miley, Coke Liqua, Whyatt had all this stuff in his

(01:39:11):
system, a little fourteen year old, Why it had all this stuff in
his system? And then he alsomentions the other two boys still need their
dad too, so as a compromiseis Carrious scrambling. She offers to come
down. I can come down.Aidan says no to that red flag bitch?
Are you kidding? Like literally inmy notes I have, this is
so confusing to me and all becausedon't come in here. You know how

(01:39:38):
the girl's do a soft launch.Don't do a soft breakup with me?
Rip the band aid off and getout. This is definitely a soft breakup,
definitely, without question, a softbreakup. And we are too old
to be playing them games. Andlike I've been saying this episode, find
you somebody else to play with.Because then he mentions that he asks for

(01:40:03):
time, and when Carrie you know, says you know, okay, like
how much like he said? Untilwhyatt is out of his teens? Carry
says that is six years? Andhe says, actually why it has a
birthday next week, so it's justfive, as if to suggest that that's
any better. Are you kidding me? It's terrible? Are you kidding me?

(01:40:27):
And you know what, also,Denver, when it comes to gender
roles, what I find crazy ismen will fix their lips to ask acid
andine shit like this and and begenuine about it, right, genuinely like
dead ass about it. But there'sno in hell Carrie, And if we
flip the circumstances, there's no inhell Carrie could have come to Aiden with

(01:40:47):
the same bombastic request, Are youkidding me? Like? My thing is
this? Like their entire week kindlinghas been predicated on not waiting, right,
just moving. Yeah, this isa woman who lost her husband unexpectedly.
Time is of the essence, Sohow dare you sit there and tell
her to wait for you for fiveyears and not to mention? That has

(01:41:12):
been the theme, right, isthat you're you run when you find love,
you run towards it. And youknow, as Beyonce says on Renaissance,
we ain't got time like we usedto. Like that's been like the
theme of this damn I mean Ifeel that way in my thirties, like
okay, that no day, buttoday, seize today, seize the moment

(01:41:33):
because you don't know what's around thedamn riverband And I think that it is
so what a ridiculous request got slappedlike now that would have gotten my rocks
off if Carrie would have slapped thetaste out of his mouth that she had
every right. I mean, youknow, you had this beautiful night in
this apartment, full of love andfriends, and you're gonna come in here

(01:41:53):
and tell me some bullshit like thiswon't niggas ruin it. Won't niggas and
you couldn't just come to the dinner, but you can won't niggas ruin it.
I venture to say, it wouldhave been even worse if he was
sitting up there getting chummy, doingthe olives and the tangerine missed and all
of it. Like that would havebeen even worse if you up in my
face he he hahn and you're aboutto drop this bomb on me. Maybe

(01:42:13):
he should have just waited until tomorrow. Yeah, or he should have just
broken up, like, don't comein here playing doing a soft breakup,
because it's also very telling. You'reasking me to wait five years, but
you don't want to come back uphere and you don't want me going down
to Virginia. So what is thissolitary confinement? What the fuck? And

(01:42:34):
wait, what does weight even mean? Ride a die, hold him down,
pop holding it out, And Ijust I don't get it. No,
he really, this is infuriating.I don't know what the hell we're
gonna name this episode. Maybe BF F r Aiden like please, like,

(01:42:56):
oh my gosh, like this is, honestly, you know, raising
my blood pressure. So I wrotein my notes, this is unreasonable as
hell by Aiden with a series ofexclamation marks. And then we get this
very I guess this is the writer'sway of putting a bow on the season,
because we get this like couple's montageof everybody and I think a Donald

(01:43:18):
Glover song was playing and everyone's likebonding. So you get Charlotte and Harry
doing it right, So Charlotte andHarry are trying to figure out the damn
iPhone. I was like called DenverHedge, all right, they're trying to
figure out the iPhone. And thenyou get Mirandon Joy. Miranda did end
up going to the bar, butI'm guessing that she did not have anything

(01:43:40):
alcoholic to drink. But she's withJoy and maybe she did not, God
I hope not, because but maybeshe's in a better place, you know
what. That's interesting too. That'sinteresting that you brought that up, because
I don't think I've ever given thoughtto that in my mind. If you
go through the AA program and youare sober, that's just it. I

(01:44:03):
don't think I've ever and this would, I guess, be a good interview
topic if I took this on asa project with success stories of people.
I wouldn't want to push this narrative, of course, but like, there
have to be people out there whohave had issues with alcohol, gone through
AA and over time, maybe reintroducedalcohol and it has not been an issue,

(01:44:25):
like they're just fine. There hasto be tons of stories like that,
right, I mean I think so. I guess it would depend because
I think for some people the alcoholis the issue. But then I think
for some people alcohol it's a solutionto other issues. So maybe one and
some other issues worked out, thealcohol isn't the problem. And see I
just chalked it up. I justchalked it up to being very binary.

(01:44:45):
You have a problem, you goto rehab, and you don't go near
the stuff anymore ever again. ButI imagine, I mean thinking realistically,
there have to be people who livein the gray area of like the occasional
drink and I'm just fine mine typething. But it's like such a slippery
slope because if you can fall offthe wagon once you can do it again.
That's a slippery slope. But nevertheless, there at the bar, then

(01:45:11):
we get the scene that we mentionedat the top of this episode. Anthony
is bottoming and looking wildly uncomfortable. He doesn't even look like he's into it.
Jeppe's into it. They got aseries of lubes on the nightstand,
and I get it's for a TVbut it's a very weird position to do
it for the first time. Onthe side like that. Yeah, I

(01:45:31):
mean, they couldn't depict Doggie thoughthey could have, or they could have
done missionary like Red White and RoyalBlue. Yeah, but I wouldn't watch
it. I think, I thinkI'm gonna watch it on the plane back.
I watch it because I really dolike the tailor guy. I liked
him before that film, but Iwas like, oh, he's so cute

(01:45:53):
to me. I saw him doa skincare routine, you know how Vogue
has those go to bed with Meseries and stuff. I saw his years
ago, it might have been inLockdown, and I was like, Gosh,
this guy's cute. And then Ifound out he's from Chicago. But
nevertheless, you said what I said, Okay, Chicago, Yeah, he's
a cutie. And then we getChay. We see Chays with Toby.

(01:46:18):
What'd you think about this? Idon't know where the hell does she come
from? They said, where thehell did they ill sign about Toby?
Yes, where the hell did theycome from? I think Toby's pronouns are
they them too? Write let's justbe safe. Chay and Toby are both

(01:46:38):
they them? And I'm kind ofmad because I was really riding with your
theory that maybe Toby would have robbedChay, because I still don't think that
Chay deserved that walk home and thatcompany from Toby after that terrible stand up
ship with Miranda. But they seemto be entering a new chapter, which
means season three might be Chay less, which would be an interesting show because

(01:47:02):
if Jay enters a relationship with Toby, what's the point of having them in
the show at all? Right? To just talk to carry? But I
mean, yeah, but it's notvital. And then we get to Saint
and Naia. They get to Nia'sapartment and to Sant asked for something to
eat, and I was like, baby, we just ate And to Sant's

(01:47:24):
like, no, I prepared thefood, I did not eat and Naya
invites him in Oh my god,I'm still smiling. I love this for
Naya, even though go ahead,go ahead, No, I thought Nina's
response to do you have it wasgoing to be a lot more risk a
forward, but yeah, anyway, keep going. I thought about this as

(01:47:48):
far as like, in my mind, I don't let men into my space
like that. And I thought aboutthis and how I probably would have let
Toussaint in under the shroud of safewith like this man has so much to
lose, so I'm assuming that thiswill be safe versus you know, I
only deal with men who have somethingto lose. Anyway. I think it's

(01:48:11):
dangerous for anybody to really deal withanyone on a romantic level who has nothing
to lose, Like that's dangerous foranybody. But like when I was thinking
about what would I have done inthis scene, would I've let a man,
you know, give me a ridehome? And granted that doesn't mean
anything. Just because he has somethingto lose, doesn't mean he's sane,
okay, because we've seen plenty ofMichael Ely movies, okay, where he's
been the CEO and crazy it ina soup sandwich. But I was thinking

(01:48:38):
in this context that I think Iwould have entertained maybe trying something new and
being safe because this man owns aplace, so yes, you can give
me a ride home, But thenyou're also letting someone know where you live.
You don't know if they you know, got the ticky boot. Like
There's a lot that goes through mymind. But I love this for Naya.
I don't want to go down thatrabbit hole, but I love this
for her. And so Jissant comesin and get something to eat. I

(01:49:00):
hope that he is in the picturefor next season, which means Miranda gonna
have to go. We don't haveto see Miranda on her feet next season.
And then we get Carrie and Aiden. I could have done without this
whole good bisex scene, Like itlasted a little long, and I fucking
hate Aiden, so I could havedone without this scene. What about you?

(01:49:23):
Carrie gave him some bitch bit howare you morning by Cat? No,
none of that. How are yougood cat? He gets a shoe.
That's it? Oh that was good. I just I just don't understand

(01:49:43):
it. You are on a rolltoday between BBC and good Bye Cat.
Wow, I am gagging. Idon't see how your horny, how anyone
is horny? After that? Youjust saw like Aiden left me in a
state of confus But Carrie is like, I don't know. Like it's like,
Carrie, are you clear that thisman is breaking up with you?

(01:50:05):
Like he does not owe or tobe deserved access to your body? Says
kick him out by Ashy. Yeah, it just it feels like she's still
holding out hope girl. I hatedthis scene and it lasted too long.
We also see Seema and Robbie gettingit in and then they have I love

(01:50:27):
that, and I really loved whenthey were bonding while smoking Mike. I
liked that he's got his vape.Yes, he got his vape, She's
got her virginia slim. And thenwe end with the wex sleeves. What
an intimate moment between LTW and Herbert. They were not having sex, but
there was a comforting non sexual intimacythat was taking place in their bedroom.

(01:50:53):
And I love stuff like that.I love intimacies. I love non sexual,
romantic, non sexual intimacy. Ilove me too, me to love
it. I love it. Ilove it. Now. Then we get
carried, okay, because we're almostat the end, Carrie's talking to Aiden
and kind of reassuring him because Carrie'snow at her new place, right and

(01:51:16):
she's telling this man that, nomatter what happens, this was not a
mistake. What did you feel aboutthis? Because I don't even feel like
he deserved these flowery, partying wordsfrom her. I mean, I'm glad
that she's at peace with her decisionto sell her apartment and get that house
for a man who just broke herheart, because again, I wouldn't be

(01:51:38):
there. Oh, so you wouldhave told Lissett, sorry, Sis,
I'm not going nowhere. I meanno, but I would have been pissed.
Yeah, because now she got she'swhat is this four bedroom? I
guess she like, you were alreadygoing through the loss of your husband and

(01:51:58):
living in that big, old apartmentand it didn't feel right last season.
So now you're having even bigger spaceto remind you of just how lonely you
are, and that you were thinkingabout this man and his three sons while
you were purchasing it. And nowyou just, I guess know and carry
the other three rooms gonna be closetsor maybe Miranda, maybe Miranda remember when

(01:52:19):
they were touring, and Miranda waslike, I'm gonna live here with her.
Maybe we'll get Carrie and Miranda again. Maybe maybe she'll get the redemption
for not giving her the apartment.Yeah, letting you stay there. That
pissed me off though, like shesaid, this was not a mistake.
Her and carry and shoe then goto the window and watch Aiden leaves,

(01:52:40):
and Aiden holds up the finger thesnap. Oh yeah, that's another thing
that pissed me off, as hewas like, look, ten years went
by and you even lost track ofthat. It was like the snap of
a finger, So imagine how quicklyfive will go by. Please find you
somebody else to play with? Areyou kidding me? It was just corny,
and it's always, and it's alwaysin hindsight when I look at like

(01:53:00):
undergrad, Yeah, that flew by, But also I'm thirty five, and
thirty to thirty five did not flyby. I feel like I felt each
and every last one of those yearswith respect to the pandemic. I felt
that shit. So it's like aidand goodbye, because you're gonna be down
there and no, Norfolk, You'renot gonna be holding it down like I'm

(01:53:23):
gonna be up here dating like thisis the end, goodbye. I don't
want to see his face next season. I do not want to see You're
talking like you're not gonna talk tome, like I don't understand. Well,
that's essentially what he said. He'sgoing to be thinking of her like
he's been thinking of her this wholetime, like fuck off, ill God.

(01:53:43):
But it's the most telling thing isthat he's not coming up there and
she can't go down, Like yeah, that is telling as hell. That
is telling as hell because he didn'teven dance around that. It's a firm
no Sema. Then Seema calls Carrieand she tells Carrie, come on,
girl, I got a place onthe beach, like Robbie's gone and Aiden's

(01:54:05):
gone. I got a place onthe beach. And Carrie's like, Sis,
I'm not really in the mood forthe Hamptons, and Seema's like says,
who said anything about the Hamptons. Then our next scene, I was
dying laughing because we should mention thatthey buried the lead so we didn't know

(01:54:26):
where they were at first, likethey have a few lines before it's revealed
where they are, And then Iwas like, fucking Denver, like Denver
is over there with Carrie and Seemaright now having Cosmos and didn't tell me
it was a beautiful ending I loved. I have in my notes these lines
where it's like Seema says, weran it love and where did that get

(01:54:50):
us? Carrie says Greece. Simamentions that she's waiting five months and Carrie's
waiting five years. Be serious, and then she says, Sima says,
what if they never come back?Carry says there'll be more Sema then says
men. Carry says cocktails. Thenshe orders another Cosmo and just like that,

(01:55:16):
I ordered two more Cosmopolitans. Andthat is the end of Season two,
Episode eleven, The Last Suffer,Part two. Entree, I want
to know when did Carry learn Greek? Because right, I've been here for
about three weeks and I still don'tknow any type of Greek. Yeah,

(01:55:38):
yeah, but everybody speaks English,so I mean actually speaks Yeah, because
there's so many people from all overlike Europe, Italy, Spain. Yeah,
like English is like the unifying language. Well, you know, they
know like their native language and English, right, people don't know like Italian
and Greek are like French, andGreek, but they do know Italian in
English, so everybody just kind ofspeaks. Oh, that's neat to know.

(01:56:02):
Did you ever watch when the cW, I think it was the
CW did the Carrie Diaries starring AnnaSophia Rob. I saw an episode,
but I really wasn't interested at thetime because I wasn't as into sex in
the City at the time. Yeah, it's it's apparently got a different timeline.
I mean, I didn't mind it. I watched the first season and

(01:56:23):
it's literally just Carry and Samantha runningaround like as preteens and teens, well
not as preteens, they're teenagers. But it stars Anna Sophia Rob who was
in What's Little Fires Everywhere? Youknow, the Carrie Washington Greese Witherspoon show.
She was on that show as well. But it's not terrible, but
it's good background noise. I thinkthey had like three seasons before I was

(01:56:44):
canceled. But it's it literally isjust Carrie and Samantha, and like it
shows Carrie's first internship at a fashionmagazine and her taking the bus or the
train or whatever from New Jersey toNew York every day, and then eventually
moving to New York and having aroommate, and so yeah, it's it's
an interesting watch if anybody wants togo up. It's not vital, of
course, but if you're a fanof the and just like that, if

(01:57:05):
you're a fan of Sex in theCity. I'm not saying that you'll love
the Carrie Diaries, but it's it'sa nice little novelty show that might provide
some good background noise for you.To quote my girl, Aretha Franklin,
