(00:10):

talking about? This money what I'mtalking about? Ye yeah, yeah,
you already know. This is whatwe're talking about. Cake life, googles
by La mo, being a building. What's stood? Gugs? We all

(00:33):

up with you? Man? What'sup? No? Man, just um
had a long day. It wasit was definitely a long day too.
You had a long day. Ohmy god, I had a long day,
bro yo. This new job iskilling me money. Listen, listen
when I when we walked their head, that's how I looked at you.

(00:54):
I said, oh damn, thisguy get another great head like you just
got like a great chi chi chillchill last Monday. That's wisdom, that's
wisdom. Oh yeah yeah yeah yeahyeah yeah. Now on so real though,
man, like this new job.I'm saying this, it's keeping me
in shape right now. You knowwhat I'm saying. You gotta work.
You gotta work. You gotta umdefinitely, uh you know, stay busy.

(01:19):
We're about to get this. We'reabout to get this. Amazon sponsorship
too. Bro. Yeah yeah,oh yeah, you didn't tell me about
this. I'm over here sun together. You don't tell nobody what he's doing.
It just like shows up like yo, mo, look, here's the
paperwork. What we're gonna do?We sign it? Yes? So no
guys like yeah, you're moving atthe speed of light sometimes. Yeah.

(01:42):
So I'm saying, what's going onin your world? Man, what you're
talking about? Well, um,it's man, It's so much on my
mind tonight, man, I wasI'm really looking at uh you know,
I've been looking at the news andjust paying attention to, um, you
know, the current affairs that aregoing on with you know, this possibility
of us going to war. Ohman, war. You know. I

(02:07):
you know, I'm I'm of acertain age now, so I kind of
watch the news, you know.I do what my parents used to do
with My father used to do whenI was younger. He would, um,
you know, you shouldn't watch cSPAN and he was sitting watching MSNBC
and you know, all these andI wanted to, you know, like,
you know, I want to getcontrol of the TV and watch it,

(02:30):
play video games and watch cartoons. But now I get it, like
you know, you gotta be informed. When you're young, you're not thinking
about that. When you get older, you're like, no, I gotta
watch them. I gotta catch upon the news. So basically, I've
been catching up on the news. And you know, there's a lot that
we have to pay attention to rightnow because you know, you know,

(02:52):
America's in a spicy position right now, you're choking. I ain't even been
paying attention to the war choke.I've been paying attention to the financial chalk.
Brother. Yeah, I know youyou're worried about that, mugga.
Yeah, you know overcheck. Youknow what I'm saying. The bank's collapsing.
You know, that's the type ofthings that I've been paying banks like,
well, I mean, when youcan, when you can um,

(03:16):
when you can borrow ten times theamount that you have available, Let's talk
about it. Let's talk about it. This is why you we have all
these problems with um, you know, the banks and the financial systems,
and they keep saying that the stockmarket could possibly crash at any time,
because you know that, you know, you lend them money that America doesn't

(03:40):
even have. You know, yougotta remember our money ain't backed by nothing.
Now, I mean, our moneyain't really backed by nothing. That's
a whole. That's a whole anothertopic right there. What I'm saying.
But this, it's it's the truth. It's it's the only way. Yeah,
no, it's the truth. Youknow. I think that we,
um, we need to you know, I'm I'm I'm gonna go there,

(04:02):
right, I'm gonna go there.Right, I'm gonna go there, Go
ahead, go ahead, just fixmy belongings. I'm gonna go there.
Right. So I think that,um, you know, indigenous people of
America and indigenous people of Africa,UM that are colored, need to come

(04:27):
to an agreement and possibly, youknow, try to start their own bank
and uh possibly you know, youknow, ask colored people. We need
to we need to have uh,we need to be anchored. We're not
anchored to any you know. Imean a lot of people here, you
know, in America. Yeah,we're Americans. I'm America. I'm proud

(04:48):
American. But at the end ofthe day, you know, I wouldn't
have a problem with being able toreally um enjoy the beautiful um air,
the beautiful land, all the beautifulanimals and experiences that Africa has to offer.

(05:11):
Yeah, so you're trying to go. You're trying to go to Africa
if I possibly can, Yeah, but why not? But it takes more
than you know, it's it's it'sI mean, let me let me get
there, right, So, um, you need a lot if you want
to get up and take your peopleand a group or a group of people,
and how many people trying to taketo Africa. Well, I'm saying
if I want to go, Iwant to go and build. I don't

(05:33):
want to just go and you know, like just lived there and you know,
die there, you know, liveretire there. No, if I
go there, I want to gowith my family and the people I care
about and other people that I knowthat are like minded, and say,
listen, let's build our own let'screate our own infrastructure here. You know.
So that means that that would meanwe need um you know, uh

(05:57):
you know structural engineers we would needuh uh you know, doctors, um
uh you know people who can youknow, construct things. Builders. We
need builders. We need uh youknow all of the different all the means
to run a running community, right, yeah, we need all of those
different um you know, entities toreally try to do something. It's not

(06:21):
impossible because for example, you haveyou have guys in the NBA that making
millions of dollars, Black guys, right, they just take a percentage and
come together and say, all right, let's put something together and you know,
let's start, let's start, let'sbuild a fund for people. You
know, I'm maybe going off therails a little bit, but I'm little
bit. This is just how Ifeel. Yeah, you know what I'm

(06:43):
saying. So so listen, youknow what I'm saying. We're gonna We're
gonna real. We're gonna real thatin because our guests tonight is it's very
very very talented. I'm you know, I don't really I don't really get
excited about a lot of things whatever, like his um, his artwork,
right, um, it's something toget excited about. Man, Yeah,

(07:06):
definitely. Like I just want toknow. I just want to know if
the people out there and feel thesame way as I'm feeling right now.
I don't really want to feel Idon't think that I'm wrong when they see
what it is that we got, that he that he has to show them,
Oh my god, he think.I think he's a very talented young

(07:27):
man um um, I'm I'm gonnaI'm gonna let him come on and let
him speak his piece. I'm notgoing you know, yeah, you know
what I'm saying. But uh,he's definitely very talented. He has a
lot of potential. I look athim as the you know, possibly like
you know, the next Bosku Yotor something like. You know, That's

(07:47):
how I look at him, becauseit's crazy. He said that to me
the other day and I and I'mlike, I just shrugged it off,
like mo tripping again. Man,you know what I'm saying. I'm like,
I'm like, Mo Mo hit theback of that fire and and Mo
Mo talking that talk in today. And today he walked in here and man,

(08:09):
oh man, everything you said.I kind of I kind of it
was like I had my foot inmy you know, we'd being modest right
now. Yeah, you know,he got excited. He was like,
oh that's what he Oh that's nice. Oh what else he can owe?
I mean, Yo, you're gonnalet you sign him? We need you.
We had to take like yeah, yeah, yeah, you were ready

(08:30):
to sign him full press, fullcore press, sign him up and say
hey, listen, let's do it. Collab we'll probably possibly due but definitely
uh manage come back. We're gonnashit and I want to elaborate a little
bit more on um on that topicthough, what topic? You know they're

(08:54):
going back to Africa topic. Ohyeah, no, I'm saying we could
do a whole show about that. You know what I'm saying. There's another
brother, um, what's his name, JT, the bigger figure from from
California. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. I follow
his follow his journey or yeah yeah, man, I've definitely been um paying
attention to what he's doing because he'syou know, he's from the hood and
he's an old rapper. Um,he made a lot of money and he's

(09:18):
trying to enlighten the people uh inhis community about you know, bridging the
gap and going back to the motherlandand you know building you know, building
upper community. I think he mighthave created like a school. I know
he got an apartment complex complex,he built a couple of different properties.

(09:41):
He has a couple of properties hebuilt. So um. But yeah,
we'll definitely come back to that onuh. You know, we don't have
to jump into that topic a littlemore. We don't have to get into
like a little bit of uh,you know, like black power stuff.
I'm spending the episode on it.We could get I'm saying, we could
get it. We could get apanem on people. You know what I'm

(10:01):
saying. Who you know? Wecould think some African people that can speak
their peace and some American African peoplethat's thinking the same way that you're thinking.
You know what I'm saying. Imight be thinking the same way you're
thinking. I might want to goback to Africa. Chop man, you
feel me? Where would you go? Where would you go? If you
know what I'm saying, where wouldyou go? I don't know? Man?
You know what I'm saying. Iwant to I want to be in

(10:24):
the wild man, I want tobe with the animals. For a couple
of works, I know Logos LogosAfrica and I can't remember the other it's
another city, but I know they'relike one of the cities is actually the
landmask is actually bigger than New York, you know, but they ain't gonna
you know, yeah say that.But um, there's a I can't remember

(10:46):
the name of the city, butthere's a couple really beautiful places in Africa.
The only thing that I've heard isyou know, because we're American,
we had we're used in certain thingsand you know we wanta be have those
luxuries, so we would h haveto make sure. Um, you know
we're uh we're well prepared with uhwith understanding how to uh receiving and distribution

(11:15):
and all that, you know, getting your packages because you can order something
and from what I've heard from thepeople I know that actually went back to
Africa, they could take three weekstoo, you know, three months to
you know, just get something likeeven something from the States, you know,
depending on you know the size ofthe package or the content. So
uh you know that's just something tothink about. But might not be getting

(11:39):
your Amazon. Oh yeah, yeah, now they got Ali Baba out there.
Okay, the package is dropping.Yeah you know, Ali Baba take
a long time when you or thestuff. Man, I need long as
the bugs did. Man oh man, that loud package did we live?
Now? It got something they gotlike the best button. Um, they

(12:01):
got the best button, like inAfrica, they got the best. A
lot of things good in Africa.Nah, I just got a lot of
people that Um okay, you wastalking. You was just chalking like you
you was not having experienced it yet. I'm going soon, all right,
you know, y'all y'all tap inman if y'all y'all, if y'all soul

(12:22):
without soul. You know what I'msaying. He was just talking like he
was in Africa. You know,I haven't been there, but I know
a lot of people that lived therefor more than twenty years and came back.
You know, one of my brothers, he lived there for like twenty
seven years. You know he umchold you wall stories. I'm saying the
man, listen, man, notjust war stories. Listen, war stories

(12:46):
think the same thing like you ain'tgoing you gotta live that thing, man,
Listen. No war stories with whatthey did was actually go back to
Africa. Videos. Yeah, videos, listen, listen, create an infrastructure,
build up land um a buy property, expand on the property, get
a hotel, get farms like theythey they up. They know what I'm

(13:11):
saying. Their family is definitely known. They a lot of you said your
brother, Yeah, we got differentfathers, so you know, you know,
different families. Okay, you knowhow that go. You know,
you know what I'm saying. Butyeah, so yeah, we're not gonna
spend too much time when that wecould get into a whole other show.

(13:33):
You know what I'm saying. Youknow, we all what I'm saying,
we're doing us right now. Youknow what I'm saying. I like that's
that topic though. You know,I definitely want to get into it,
but I definitely want to spend sometime where um, you know, our
special guests ain't gonna say his nameman way, you know, we definitely

scenes. Man dance moves too likethey too active for me. Right,

(17:07):
Yeah, I dance with the paintbrush. You know. Yeah, you
speak on that, man, speakon that. Speak on um. You
know you dancing with the paint brush. You know what I'm saying, Like,
how long you've been doing that?Bro? I've been doing this for
a couple of years, like sixteenyears probably more for the most part.
You know, I've been doing itfor a very long time. I do

(17:30):
tattoos, I make accessories, youknow, I do clothes, I do
furniture. You know, everything canvas? So everything, what everything? Everything
canvas? Say that again, everything'sa canvas, right, Okay, let's
get to it. Yeah, that'sfired. That's fired. So it's like
it's like everything everything that you seepretty much you could you could drow on

(17:52):
it and you could bring you know, some visual art or whatever it is
that you want to bring to it. Right, whatever I feel like,
you know, whatever I feel likeI'm thinking about, well I want to
do I just you know, Ithrow that on anything. I thought that.
I thought it on a pencil,I thought on the light up.
You know. I'm feeling crafty,I'm feeling creative. You know, I'm
gonna I'm gonna do what I gottado. I'm gonna show it off.

(18:14):
If i'mna express that, I'm gonnaget it across. That's what I do.
Everything came it is one of theones, you know, right,
it gotta one of the ones.Yeah, that's what I um. That's
one of the first things that Ialways noticed about you is that you can
do You're one of the ones. Are exclusive, but I have seen you

(18:37):
do the same thing two times. That's how I know you're a really templative
artist. That the fact that youcan actually do something without stenciling it out,
making a copy of it, allright, and just taking it,
laying it over and you know, like tracing it out, no, like
literally drawing it, you know, picture one time, freehand. Yeah,

(19:03):
coming back again looking at it.Yeah, this challenge y'all and doing it
again. We're witnessing something right now. Thank Yeah. I had to definitely
bring you on the show. UmT definitely wanted to have you on the
show because we um we want toexpose uh, talented artists, not just

(19:26):
music artists, not just and noteven just talented you know, young entrepreneurs.
We wanted to you know, wewant everybody that is pushing towards you
know, m becoming more successful atwhatever it is we want to support.
That's what we're trying to support thosepeople absolutely, and it makes it even
easier when you know, what I'msaying is genuine talent, and it's just

(19:49):
like it's Paul ring out of you. You know what I'm saying, Thank
you. You make my job easyright now? You understand. So I
can literally just say what inspired youto make this hat? Here? You
know it inspired me? Ok?Yeah, you gotta elaborate on that.
You can't just say nah, youknow, I know, I know,

(20:11):
but I could actually elaborate on allof these actually tell them, please please
please do for the audience. Sothis one right here, it's like it's
like it's like it's like I it'sgot the eye and then you got the
mouth with the hands and the mouth. You know, it's like ice cream
words. But I don't say it. I just show it Like that's that's

(20:32):
the way I like to you knowit just I wanted to speak without happen
to do too much talking. Iknow this was what we're talking about,
but this is what I'm talking about. Hey, tell them, tell them
how much? How much of them? These hats of coast to me.
You know what I'm saying, ifthey want to buy where they could buy
it. You know what I'm saying, Now you could get it. You
could get a hat, isn't youknow? I ain't gonna go too crazy

(20:52):
right now, they's sixty cats, they's sixty dollars and sixty dollars right,
better game you get them sixty dollars. You go to my Instagram that's at
low PACACI l R D, Underscorepr C A c HR And how much
for the customer? If I wantedto get something that's that's different customers.
Yeah, custom customer is like barriescustom money. You want to get something

(21:15):
custom? It depends on you know, yeah, it depends on the design.
Trying to get your brand right.I'm saying, y'all better tap in
man so SOX something. Uh.What was it like growing up in West
hallom on the Hill? I gotyou appreciate the thinking, right, what

(21:36):
was it like growing up in Westhallom Um on the Hill? And you
know in your era? Let mejust say that my era, right,
you guys, my era was prettycrazy. You know, I wasn't.
I wasn't crazy. I wasn't Iwasn't I wasn't too involved in none of

(21:56):
that. I just you know,I had you know, ends and things
like that. That was always likelike that, you know I was.
I was mainly like trying to dothe right thing, stay in school.
You know, my mom she wason me. So I couldn't get an
eighty five. That was bad.Eighty five was bad. So you know,
I had to keep my grades up. You know, I wasn't allowed
to do like stay out late. You know I I really wasn't allowed to

(22:19):
stay out late. Everybody that knowme know that. Like I ain't shaved
and say it either, like thelights came on, you was in the
house, Like my mom's was notplaying. She was not playing. She
was coming at home. This gottabe It ain't when my friends wasn't when
I in my neighborhood, and uhwhen university one seventy fourth university have,

(22:42):
um, well, some of myfriends when we was like little click like
do small but l and I cright, Um, we couldn't necessarily,
you know, some of the kidscouldn't leave the block. So when the
other kids like, oh, we'regoing over here, we're gonna go now,
I can't go. Y'all get back. You know, they come back

(23:03):
bruised up. But you know,I ain't getting in trouble with my mother.
Nah, that's facts, you know. I just I had friends like
that. So it was like Iwas, you know, I ain't gonna
say I I ain't gonna say Iwas the goody two shoe, but I
was definitely like trying to stay focusedright right, trying to my mom's definitely
steered me the right way. Ifeel like I played sports. I was.

(23:25):
I was heavy on sports, LikeI played football, not too much
basketball, but I played you know, but he was pretty good in football,
but definitely football. Definitely, Iwas, you know until I got
to like high school. But like, I ain't gonna we can talk about
that later. I'm gonna tell youhow how it was growing up. You
know, I played sports, youknow for the most part, and m

(23:47):
actually I actually had a friend wholike, I'm gonna tell you how I
actually you got into like the fashionthing though, all right, So pretty
much I had I had a friendwho introduced me to her brother. You
know, I could say names onit. I mean you could say what
you can say. Not I hadfriends. I had a friend who just

(24:08):
like introduced me to her brother. She said he was he was big on
the fashion thing and whatever. Sheused to see me draw my shirts.
I used to draw my shirts juststrictly for gem though, like I was
I wanted, I ain't. Icouldn't get every jersey I wanted. So
I was like, man, I'mabout to just you know, yeah,
I'm gonna make a jersey. I'mgonna put a face, I'm gonna put
anything, you know, anything thatI feel like a jersey should look like,

(24:30):
That's what I'm gonna put on myshirt. So I was doing it
for a little minute. It gotto the point where it's like kids like,
yo, you can make me.You can make me one of them
um T shirts for gym. I'mlike, I don't know if we're doing
all that, Like I got horridto do, like I was doing it,
like I don't know if I gottime to be doing all of that,
and then you know, I couldmake mins. I don't know if

(24:52):
I could make I don't even knowif I got enough time for a lot
like but pretty much, yeah,it got she liked introduced me to her
brother, and her brother was like, yo, um nah, I like
your work just down the third, and um, yeah, it went from
there pretty much me in the fashionthat went from there, like he okay,
so all right, so you basicallyexplained to me how y'all linked up.

(25:14):
Right, So when y'all linked up, how did he open the door
to you? Well with some ofthe things that he showed you to help
you. Oh all right. Firstoff, he was the first person to
show me, like, actually howto use a song machine. I ain't.
I was not into no song machines. I was, like I said,
I was just drawn on stuff,Like I was just drawn on things.
He was like, yo, youcould take it to another level.

(25:37):
You know, you just learned howto show this and that and then you
could drawn it after that. SoI was like, that's that's different.
You know. I never really thoughtabout it like that. And really at
the time, it was that wasn'treally a big thing. It was like
you was doing that, you wastrying to make fake brands. So I

(26:00):
mean I stuck with it. Ijust felt like, it's not a I'm
not trying to copy no brand becauseyou're gonna see like this is not that
and I don't even make it likethat, right. But yeah, basically
he told me how to use thesaw machine. So I used I've used
the saw machine on a couple ofpieces, but mainly our handstitch because you
know, I won't really be havingtime to lug them the machine around,

(26:23):
so I got crazy with the hands. How much machine? No, I
mean like if you, if you, if you have a sung machine,
you know it ain't that heavy.I mean like the old ones probably only
roll that around. I would definitelydefinitely not at my age on foot like
that. They're gonna backpack, youknow, book back I figured dig.

(26:47):
I figured dig, but it wasjust a little question. I just wanted
to see what you gonna say.Not for sure, but okay, definitely
was not lugging no saw machine aroundwith me. So yeah, he told
me how to um and stitch, and like basically it went from there.
I started sewing dresses, the tjeans, anything that could get stitch.

(27:11):
Work with any um known designers besidesme, Yeah, besides you and I.
Um, I've worked at a coupleof designers. I don't I'm not
gonna say I want to say bigtime names, but I worked with a
couple of designers and to me,they big time. So anybody that anybody

(27:33):
I want to work with me isbig time. Like I appreciate everybody I
want to do something with me.That means they actually want to do it
with me, or you know, whatever the case, if they could benefit
from it, they still wanted todo it with me. And I take
all of that as you know, let's do it. I'm ready to work
at old times. Right, that'sgood man. You gotta stay busy.
You gotta stay ready to work.UM, you gotta stay focused on your

(27:56):
craft. You have to understand thatwhen you take the initiative initiative to um
to focus on something, then youhave to make sure you take all the
right steps to get to your goal. Right. You know, you can't,
um, you can't slack. Yougotta do your research. Like all

(28:17):
of our other guests always make surethey say you gotta do your research,
and that's very important. You understand, that's very important to be the research
because UM, to know where you'regoing, you have to see some of
the mistakes that some of the youknow, the previous right right right,

(28:38):
I mean, like, I'm definitelylike anybody had any advice for me in
the fashion I've always took it,like because like I said, I started
off just drawing on my T shirts. It was never really h It was
never really a you could make youcould make money off of this, or
you could do this so you couldtake your brain here. It was just
a this is being that's what Iwant to to dude, this, this

(29:00):
is what I'm gonna do. Andlike so when when did you When did
you realize that you could all youcould make a living off of this.
I mean people told me I couldmake a living off of it, Like
I never really thought I could becauseI said before, it was never really
that. It was never that.It was just me drawing on things.

(29:22):
That's it was a part of me. That's what I wanted. I liked
it like that, and that's whatit came to. It was to the
point where people was like, yo, that's why I want that too.
And then, like I said,it was only me, so it's like
they wanted it. I couldn't likego out there and just make multiple of
it. I know, because Iasked you to make a couple of things.

(29:42):
To me, I was like, okay, maybe he's like, oh
I sold it. This gone? You mean you only made one all that
I said to you, I said, you gotta start making copies of things.
Man, I was upset. Iwas now he definitely, he definitely
used to be on me for that. Like, Bro, it's gonna get
to the point where you're gonna haveto make multiple and I'm like, Bro,

(30:02):
I honestly I do respect it.I feel like some days I do
want to make multiple. But atthe end of the day, you know,
my my biggest reward is to seeit once only on whoever I sold
it to or whoever has it.It's just like when I when I actually
get to see it on somebody andthey actually appreciate the work, that that

(30:23):
brings me more joy than actually, like you know, even when I was
making the piece, it's like Iget to see boost the value right,
the value right, and then it'sthe only one. Like I said,
it's like you come in with theonly one. I see somebody with the
same the same dope hoodie as you. It's no longer dope to me because
it's like, oh, somebody gotthat, Oh he got Oh it's only

(30:45):
two of them. Hold on,hold on, I don't think about listen,
jump in the comma. Really don'tlike that, man, Nigga's gonna
get that cake like sweatshirt. Tellyou run it up, man, y'all.
OK, with the same one,man like alka with the same one,

(31:06):
black and gold. Ya, y'allbring it to me and get it
done too. Yeah, that's aman. Listen, listen, we're gonna
do it. Coming song coming. So definitely we got a lot of um,
we have a lot of stuff wecould work on. You have.
These are not the only hats. When we go in to our next break,

(31:26):
then we'll come back with some newhats and show y'all more fire.
Fire is crazy all fire. Youdidn't I know, you told me that
you had a whole bunch more.Yeah, but you couldn't bring everything.
I know you couldn't bring everything. So look at that, well, look
at that the car. I don'tknow what is The color is like it's

(31:49):
making it almost like a green screenitem. This guy holding away So I'm
bucking out right now. Just letme check this one. I like this
one, like yeah, who yeah, I like this one right here.
Man. We had to lead thisone, that's all you understand. Yeah,

(32:13):
so uh so, so what whatkind of um, what kind of
like what kind of inspired you toreally just like say, get into it.
I'm gonna be a I'm going tobe a painter, and I'm gonna

(32:34):
see where this goes. What reallypropelled you to you know, Google,
who gave you that push? Um? All right? So, like I
said um before, because a lotof people used to come to me and
say make that. It got tothe point where it was just like,
what you mean make that? LikeI'm telling you, what's the only one?
Like why are you forcing me?And then there's people like, yeah,

(32:55):
I'll pay you. And it's like, oh, you're gonna pay me
to make something? You got inspiredby the money? No, no,
no, no, I would likeI said I was making it for me.
He was like, I'll pay youfor that, And it's like you
want this, all right, I'mabout to make something better than this.
I'm about to make sound better thanthis. That's it. I'm just about
to make something better than this. Then it got to the point of like
I buy that. Okay. It'slike, oh, hold up, y'all

(33:20):
trying to buy everything that I'm tryingto make for me. Like it got
to the point where I was like, all right, well I like painting,
so I'm gonna just paint on everythingnow. Yeah, I bet you
y'all won't buy everything. So,so were you painting in your neighborhood,
like on the walls? And whywould stuff like that? I would never
paint on them, that's I wouldnever, not not illegally, No never,

(33:46):
I never. Okay alleged allegedly allegedlyyou ever paint on some walls?
No, I don't paying the walls. No, so only house walls.
Well, okay, okay, soyou don't you know, okay, all
right, so as anybody, Iknow you've been contracted to do murals and
stuff like that before. Correct,Yeah, hold up, like but I

(34:07):
think he trying to trick me up. But yeah, yeah, people people
ask me to ask me to painton walls. Yeah, so you know,
I ain't. I ain't. Iain't just going around here tagging up
walls and not me. No,I just wanted to know if you was,
you know, if I get onthe train or if I'm driving on
the highway, Well, I see, not me. Okay, all right,

(34:28):
So you're a real artist, andbasically you you basically really if you
ain't got the right, yeah, yeah, if they don't, if they
don't come with the right, youknow, you know, I need the
permission, you know, because likeI said, I don't, I wouldn't
just want to like viol and friends. You know understand everything canvas, okay,

(34:50):
but punch line everything canvas though.Yeah, it's you quiet over there,
man. I'm listening because I knowyou sing like hmm, I cannot
have him in ill sweatshirt, Kenny, make that little ready. You already
know That's why I'm saying. Heyeah, he's you know here you back
into the interview. He thinking businessthis guy over here. Listen. The

(35:12):
people already know what I'm saying.Hey, y'all, tap in, man,
I'm saying, we in here, man, Hey, hey, tap
in and get y'all a hat man. I'm saying sixty dollars to get you
something, fire man, I'm sayingsixty dollars. That's a still niggas is
selling ship for buck fifty. Shitis really? So I want to ask
you to um because I know youare. You know you. I asked

(35:39):
you a couple of times. Isaid do you have a logo? And
you said to me, yeah, all right, yeah all right. So
so if you if you've been followingme since like I was younger, you
would know my first logo was thatXOL crippled face. It's like it's like
I X for like the SWIRLI circleand then it got like the upside down

(36:01):
w that was from That was fromthe first the first ever, you know,
fashion line. I started back tothe to the girl who introduced me
to her brother, you know, shout out DSN Dino, you know,
okay, but yeah, everybody knowthat stuff DS and Dino. You know
ds N Dino, d Dino, but shout out to him. Correct facts

(36:25):
we I had. I had madea logo and it's the EXUL crippled face.
But right now everybody he's like, heybody tell me, like, bros,
just use the signature, like, just use your signature. That I'm
pretty sure I told you that too. Just like, just use your signature.
It's the signature. I don't knowif the camera to your right.

(36:52):
Basically you're just my name is yahyah. Yeah. So basically, you
know he had some nice pieces, nice successories. Um, But I also
want to know, um, becauseI know we did. I asked you
this question earlier, but I stillwant to know what was it like in
your neighborhood because I know you know, I know you so I want you

(37:15):
to elaborate a little bit. Itwas I don't want to sting you with
no questions, like maybe you askedme the questions, so I don't that's
I don't. I don't really liketo do too much talking, you know,
everybody, I don't even just know, Like I was never to talk
of theF like and if our dadtalk, you know, that's what we're

(37:35):
doing, right, you gotta bedoing something like productive. It I ain't
just I don't just want to talklike there's other things to do. So
so basically I'm gonna elaborate a littlemore than that. So basically, how
how me and my brother met righthere maybe about what so many years was
like fifteen years ago, like twentymaybe I don't even know, eighteen eighteen,

(37:58):
eighteen years step um. I wasthe music instructor at a non for
profit called the Brotherhood Sister Soul upon one hundred and forty third between Broadway
and um Hamilton Avenue. So Iwas able to link with all of the

(38:22):
young intellectuals in the neighborhood. Andthat's how I met this guy, you
know. And uh, when Isay young intellectuals, I also wanted to
state that. Um. You know, they were very they were very much
um let me not say handicapped, but they were definitely from the neighborhood that

(38:45):
they grew up in and some ofthe things they had experience, you know,
the at that time, they werestill dealing with stopping frisk in that
neighborhood. It was a little crazyover there. But um, they had
a lot of kids. I washurting into telligence on one forty third and
they needed some guidance. And thisnonprofit organization, the Brotherhoods just a soul

(39:07):
um which I was part of.I was lucky to be a part of
it. I was a little wild, so they like Muhammad take it easy,
but um, yeah, I wasa little you know, I was
a little wild if you know, you know, um, but um,
I realized what they were trying todo, and that was enlightened, you
know, the kids and the youthto a better way of thinking. And

(39:32):
if you could change your thought process, then you can change your behavior.
And once you change your behavior, you can change your um the outcome,
you know, for yourself, youhave a higher chance to hire ratio of
you know, having a positive outcomefor your you know, for yourself right,

(39:52):
Oh, I talk about it.Yeah, so I when I was
when I was younger, I usedto go to UM I used to go
to after school called Mena Sinc. You know, I don't know all of
them. Yeah, I don't knowif I don't know if a lot of
people know what that is. Thisminisink Mena Sinc. Was like, what
was that one forty one first liked, Yeah, it was one forty second

(40:15):
and Lenox. Yeah, I usedto go to the I used to go
to that after school. But whenI wasn't there, I used definitely used
to pull up to Brotherhood, youknow one forty third. That was one
one forty third between Hamilton and broright the other side. Yeah, facts,
that's where I met Mo. Youknow, he was like at the
time I was, I was veryyoung, Like you know, I was
very young. He was. Hewas pretty much like my big brother.

(40:37):
I didn't have a I didn't havean older brother sibling, so it was
like he was. He was prettymuch like the big brother I used to
I used to come. I usedto come or a couple of friends,
you know, they like like, yeah, more in there. He he
a cool man girl, he youknow, And when I finally met him.
You know, everything they said wastrue. It was like he was

(40:58):
like the big brother. He heused to have us in there, you
know, doing up the beats. He's like, yo, you got you
got what you got to say, like you could say a matter of fact,
record that record, that record thatyou record it, and I'm yeah,
we're gonna work from there. Butit was like, you know,
he always like looked I was makingbeats. He was making he was,
Yes, he was definitely making beats. He had all of us on the

(41:20):
on the on the drum machine, like I'm telling you like we was.
We was all in there. Weall though. We old though. He
was like, you know, producersand the like yo, hold on,
look look look look looked boom,oh wait all right, you need the
baseline right right. He used tohe used to stare with us. He

(41:42):
used to definitely stare us right evenwhen we was getting crazy on the beats,
He's like, we're not doing allthat all right. So basically basically
I was the uh. I wasthe music instructor. I was teaching the
kids um engineering and production, andthe curriculum I had put together for them
was based around them understanding how tooperate, uh build, um run and

(42:09):
you know, just manage the studio. So um. You know, they
had little tests and quizzes they wouldhave to take um about, you know,
uh, wiring the studios, learninghow to plug up the pro tools
and plug up you know, howthe INDs and the outs, understanding the
frequencies of you know, when theystarted making beats and you know, don't

(42:32):
blow out the speakers, which theyblew out a lot of speakers, you
know, you know, shouts tothe brotherhood, always always appearing to speaker,
shout out to my man, meetSean, gotta give you a shout
out. It's my guy. Youknow what I'm saying. Oh, I'll
be on that shout out the brotherhood. You know you got if you know,
do it for Ray yo. Ray. It was good piece of everybody

(42:52):
had the bro sis um. Souh yeah, it was definitely. It
was a It was a It wasa It was a great environment for the
youth um on that on that block, and they took advantage. It was
a lot of kids that came throughthere. I'm not gonna so a lot
of kids came through there. Idon't try to get it. I let
him say if he wanted to talkabout. I'm gonna say it, but

(43:13):
a lot of kids came through there, um and you know, they really
they really needed they really needed that, um that space. A lot of
our youth need space. They needthe time they need to be able to,
um experience some some people that areolder than them that can be brothers

(43:36):
or sister type you know, influences, because your influences are going to determine
a lot of times who you are. You know. And I and I
helped out. I know, Ihoped that a lot of kids up there
with just me being me and youknow, I worked Pa y'all always the
stuff to help the kids, Ialways, you know. But yeah,
I ain't gonna take you. I'mtrying to talk. He right, he

(43:58):
write, you know, he on. But you know, I feel like,
like I said, I met him, he back, Yeah, he
definitely with the blowing out the speakersand facts, I was I was lost,
like, oh yeah forever. Weused to go crazy like it was
to the point of, like,yo, tell him, I wasn't here
today. I was not there, like I tell you knowles, t come

(44:20):
on, No, I was acouple of guy and um we had uh
we had Lord Pacacci, we hadLord Brad. We had um uh my
man Kevin Shooter like that was justhis nickname then Shooter at the time,
well keV Um. We had Sheenshout out the Sheena um uh. Who

(44:42):
else was capable? Diggie. Uh, it was a couple of you guys.
I gotta give a shout out tomy old students. Yeah, it
was it was. It was Graycame um. Yeah, it was a
lot of guys. Man that camein was able to still see Lord Bred.
You know, I it's still popping. Brother is still popping. He
Um. He had to push, you know, change a couple of things

(45:05):
and uh, you know, hitthe hit the restart button. And you
know what I'm saying. As youget the certain ages, you gotta sometimes
um, you know, take abreak and and and you know, remap
everything out and then go again. So yeah, when Bred is ready,
you know, we'll we'll um havehim on. You understand, we'll definitely

(45:28):
have him on um if he's willingto come on. You know, murber
Um didn't Brotherhood. Brotherhood was definitelya spot where I'm Matt Mo, you
know, and from there we justalways connected. He always hit me up,
make sure I was good. Youknow anything, He's just yo,
hit me bro, like if youneed anything, you know you need to
say you know I you know,I stare you right. And it was

(45:49):
like he always stood me. Healways stood me right. So it was
like, you know, if Ineeded somebody out, I needed a toll
to I hit him. Thank you. Let me let me hit you with
something right quick. When you seeit's so fat in the next five years.
Man, on my own island, you know, I'm really, I'm
serious on my own island. I'mtrying to design my own island. You

(46:10):
see how they got the little shapesand all that. I need that I
need an island with my logo shapeor something like. But yeah, I
feel like I feel like, right, I need I need an island in
the shape of my logo and onthat and on on on that logo.
The gotta have like, you know, strict communities, you know what I

(46:30):
mean, Like not even a strictcommunity. It's just gonna be like one
big castle, you know, andeverybody did you know, just gonna be
like I might have on one onone island, just a whole bunch of
artists, Like you're gonna have twoislands. Look, listen, if you've
seen the logo, it's it's threepieces, but it's one logo. Three

(46:51):
pieces, but it's one logo.So basically, I have a whole island,
you know, just for the family, you know, and then they
got to be like a network island. I feel like I feel like it
got it would be a network island. And then you know, even on
the other island, it'd probably belike you know, this is this is
a vacation island. It's it's strictlyvacations. That's it. Like there's there's
no work. We don't talk aboutwork, we don't discuss work. It's

(47:14):
just for vacations. But any anything, anything out of that, then then
that's when we step on regular lands. But you know, he's going extravagant
before you keep going for or tothis island, because you're about to expand
the island. I see, weneed that. I want to let the
people see what you had or Iknow you made these genes. I know

(47:34):
you designed these jeans here right.Yeah? Yeah, you want to stand
up real fast, you know, show them, you know, show them
your feet a little bit. Yeahgood, I gotta go, Yeah,
you go right to the front ofthe table, grabbed those hats to those
that show what you do. Yea, yeah, so we could, so

(47:58):
we could all year. He putthose hats in front of these hats here
go ahead, not really okay,Nah, it's cool. Yeah nah.
Some some they're gonna get in thecomments and they're gonna tell you. I
mean, okay, do you toldyou said you had to had that glow

(48:23):

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
