(01:15):

when we're talking about what they're talkingabout? This money? What I'm talking
about? What are we talking aboutmoney? What we're talking about? Yeah,
(01:37):
yea, yeah, you already knownthat is what we're talking about.
What we're talking about, what we'retalking about, what we were we talking
about? Okay, okay, yougot my boy jail in the building.

made it the rock stars that Isay, Geo in the building. Steve
showed up this this is the eighteenthepisode. If Steve ain't been in the
building now one time Geo pulls upStevens in the building, click clicking,
shout out to Steve So geal, yes, okay, I ain't gonna jump
that far right, No, no, no, no, dive in dive
(02:21):
in deep dive. I want thisright Yeah. Where are you from?
Okay? Um? All over,UM, I'll give you my um my
interview answer first. Okay, Soborn in Connecticut, raised in Virginia.
UM. Moved out to LA whenI was twenty two, was there for
(02:42):
eight years, and then UM,vacation to New York. Got scouted with
an agency. Moved there for fouryears, four or five years. UM,
and now I'm back and forth betweenConnecticut and New York. But I'm
in the city a lot now becauseI'm getting booked so good. Oh yeah,
he's about to cut me. I'myou know, I'm just I'm just
(03:06):
saluting out guess you know what Imean? Yeah? Yeah yeah. So
so Jill, let me ask youthis, yeah right, what was it?
First of all, what was itlike living in Virginia? Because I
know the first place that you said, you know, I'm pretty sure you
was like a kid. Yeah,I moved when I was twelve. Um
so, Virginia. Uh who Virginia? Do I give the diplomatic answer?
(03:30):
Yeah, because I would write toVirginia because I went to school in VA.
Sor I know you had what part? I went to Virginia State?
Yo? Okay, um so Chesterfield, Central, Chesterfield and Richmond. Um
So I was in the I wasin the fan. I was right by
Churchhill. Um, I was inthe hood shot out Virginia because that some
(03:53):
really big houses. But it's ahood out there too. It's yeah it
is um I love um the bottomsup pizza place that places dope oh I
and then um but yeah, okay, so okay, real talk, Yo,
Virginia was tough and I'm not tryingto I'm not trying to hate on
(04:14):
my own people or my own state, but like, look at me,
like I'm a theater kid. Solike Virginia. Um. The part I
was in Virginia was it was veryvery country and it wasn't um really diversified,
so like, um, yeah,it was a bunch of UM.
It was a bunch of UM.It was a bunch of kids. And
most kids did sports and I liketheater. I wanted to sing, I
(04:35):
wanted to dance. UM, Iwanted to do Michael. I remember in
high school, UM, for likethe Talent Show. I was like,
oh, I want to do BrianMcKnight and I want to do Michael.
And she's like, we don't dothat. She's like you can do anything.
Oh, She's like, you cando like a Broadway song. So
it was um and not just inthe theater or anything, but UM,
(04:56):
it was just UM. It wastough. I had the UM. I
struggled to find my own voice, just as an artist and as a person.
And UM, you know, Iam all over the place. I'm
hyper, Um, I'm a characterbecause you are all over the place.
YEA. So okay, when youlived in Virginia, yeah, is that
(05:18):
where you went to school and that'swhere you started singing, That's where you
started, you know, really tappinginto your talent. Yeah, um.
I and Junior High I did UM, i'd choir and everything, and you
know I got all the solos umbecause I practiced. You was the quiet
that you saw it in middle school? Um? What was the school even
(05:43):
cold? Um? Oh? Sorry? Manchester Middle Manchester Middle School. And
then I did Manchester High School fortwo years and then clover Hill High School
for two years. And all throughall that time I did theater. I'd
acquire um. And you know, the teachers were really they were supportive of
me. They put up with myshenanigans. I'm gonna say, your energy,
(06:04):
because your energy is I could seehow you could go in the room
and probably just take it over. They they did not like that. So
the teachers what I've been told myentire I'm looking directly into camera, my
entire life in choir was to toneit down. And I was like,
I was like, and I loveI loved choir. I learned a lot
(06:27):
and anything, but I'm like,I want to do my own thing.
I want to sing my own music. Um. I want to be a
character. I want to choreograph thedances. Like. I don't want to
be um put into a box.I don't want to be controlled. I
don't. And choir is great, but it's very, um, it's very
uniform, and some people like that. I don't. They're like, you're
singing the song this way, thistempo, in this key because that's how
we win awards and I and Iwas able to fit the bill, but
(06:49):
I was like, yo, thisis not me like I am. Like
I said, yeah, I alwaysgot told to tone it down. And
then once I started doing like soloacts and stuff, um and little more
control your composure yeah, and um, the audiences were like, no,
don't turn it down, like welike that. You're an animal. Like
(07:11):
They're like, that's what we cometo see. No, no, no,
I mean like because I'm very whenI'm on stage. I dance a
lot, I sweat a lot.I'm very energetic. I'm very passionate.
Um. And I didn't realize peoplelike really like vibed with that until like
I started performing in LA and Istarted to spin fire and I mean you
saw the intro. I was rollingon the ground. I was doing all
that stuff like this, right, most people can do that, no matter
(07:32):
how much I know you watch somevideos, no matter how much people say
you know or even be like,oh, I could do that, you
know they watch that's not I coulddo that. But if they really don't
under they really don't understand it.Like when you win the moment, all
those moves, you gotta learn thetime and of the moves. Every trust
(07:54):
me, I understand you heard ithere first, thank you to my story
is being told. No, Ijust understand. So I just you know,
I'll just you know, kind ofhelp you get that out. You
get it, yea jew. SoI'm saying, growing up, who's who's
some of the people that you lookedup to? Who's some of your influences?
Okay, So, um, mymom is who like really got me
(08:16):
into music? And she had Mymom is a funk woman like um so
like Rick James, and like umalso soul so like um Patti LaBelle.
She had that lady Marmalade Cassette andshe was like, you can't listen to
that because she's a church lady. And I would sneak and I would spy
on the old school. Rick Jamesis grimy, Prince is grimy. And
(08:41):
this is what I tried to Butum, there's a subtle poetry and a
subtle art to it, which iswhat I really respect because like you know,
those songs get played on the radiowhen it's like like I love Wop,
I love Dirty Net, I loveCupcake, I love Megan the Stallion,
I love Jacob like I love allthat dirty stuff. But like,
but like I love I love theart of um saying something, saying something
(09:03):
nasty and grimy but poetically like Neosaid, what doesn't Neil saying sexy?
Levy says um he says, Ierupt like a volcano and cover her with
my love. Right, you canplay that on the radio, but like,
yeah, exactly, we know what'sgoing on. We know what's going
on. What it is, rightis when is when an artist has swag
(09:26):
and they under and they have realvocabulary. You understand, yo, listen,
guys, hold them block my face. Y'all gotta pay attention to that.
You gotta get your le cabulary.Yup, man, Yeah you want
to play with the big boys.Yeah, say what I'm saying. Yeah,
my songs are My songs are grimy, mysen. I like a lot
(09:48):
of them, so yeah, they'reall I um so like songwriting wise,
UM, I took a lot ofcues from like Rick James, Michael Gaga
and like all those, I lovedouble entendres and I love being able to
say something without really saying it.Um. So this is an adult podcast.
So like a lot of times inmy songs, um, I'll be
(10:09):
saying one thing but laughing to myselfand thinking another. I have a song
called Sauce um that isn't about sauce. It's not released that it comes out
later this year, but it's afreak nasty No. No, My mama
was watching. I need to shoutout to Mama. Love Mama, Mama,
(10:30):
nero, hold on, Mama,my daughter. She asked me to
shout out Juju. Shout out toJuju, shout. I need you to
give my daughter a shout out.Jalis says her name, Jelisa. What's
rocking? Appreciate yo? Hold on? Yeah? Okay because right here,
(10:56):
okay, so what's what's up?Because I now you got a whole I
know you got a whole list ofquestions from my well, you know what
I'm saying, What what I reallywant to know was what artists inspires you?
You know what I'm saying. That'sokay, develop mentally, Okay,
we got don't laugh, Okay, okay um vocally Tory Freaking Kelly who does
(11:20):
not get enough praise Like I loveTory Kelly. Um. She's like a
Christian slash pop singer. Um sheum. She sang Smokey Robinson Um at
the BT Awards and no one knewwho she was. They're like, yo,
they let this white girl up heresinging an Tonia. First of all,
she's bi racial. Shout out toall my biracial people because no one
ever knows what we are. Butshe got she um she's Jamaican. Why
(11:46):
why what time out? Like No, that's funny, that right, right
because we all mix right Like so, I'm like, I'm not, um,
you know, Nigerian black. Youknow what I'm saying. My guy
over there, Nigerian shouts of myNigerian I did my ancestrazy that we're not
(12:07):
considered by racial right now? Weall by I mean actually saying you're not
considered though, like you wouldn't thinkof yourself as by racial. Well you
know, somebody, I'm not gonnago that far because I was about to
say something crazy, but what No, I want to hear that. Wait,
I'll tell you that during the break. You just gotta remind me.
Okay, but you know what I'msaying, like you would probably be a
little bit um. You like,we're probably the same complexion. You just
(12:31):
gotta jump in the splash a littlemore. Get y'all in the black?
Can I steal that one? Thatthat is a hit song? That's jump
Yeah. Now we're gonna sample hisvoice. We could throw You know what
I'm saying, you put some together, because don't say that every day over
(12:54):
here. You know what I'm saying. But yeah, please bay a little
minute. You know what I'm saying, Get on my guy as mandatory.
You know what I'm saying. Okay, y know you did what you did
into right now, Jill another,I'm vibing. I'm vibing not music.
Dudes. They always hear sounding theirhead like I like, like I hear
a background, I hear background music. Right he was in He was in
(13:16):
here. He was in here warmingup just a little while ago, while
right before you stepped in. AndI'm talking about he had the room.
It's you know, it's only meand Stephen here, But I'm saying he
had us taking pictures. That wasa camera. He was starstruck. That
was a camp listen. I wasstar shot. I didn't even go hold
(13:39):
y'all. I was star shot.I'm like, hold on, I ain't
know Jill had to send them starstruck. My voice cracked. I was
so embarrassed. Was like, maybesleeping on us light skinning dudes. B
That's all it is, Manaby, you could sing another head song sleeping on
them light skin dudes. I sayI could sing. I never said that,
you know, while I WHI whileI about to start wrapping, y'all,
(14:01):
huh, magic mo, you gotsome balls? You know, I'm
not gonna say never in life, because if I say that, somebody gonna
pull up some from back in theday, like you're lying you listen to
this. You're not gonna do that. But h yeah, you know what
choke about it? Yeah? Man, fire away, Okay, I'm good.
(14:28):
I was sick last week. Myvoice was out. You know what
it was last week? Everybody?I think everybody was sick. Yes,
what the what the people? Itwas like a light I ain't gonna nobody
want to say that. I thinkit was like a light level COVID that
it was like a COVID one thatfloated around. You know what, I'm
saying, so you had that yourhead telling the public you had that,
No, you but had quarantine theshow what we quarantine? What we were
(14:54):
quarantine? A non large cool comment, And I'm going in for the queue.
Ag. Yeah, I'm saying, how did you become an influencer?
Um? Okay, so this isthis is a journey. Um, this
is a very long journey. SoI UM. I posted on my Instagram.
(15:15):
At this point, I had myold account. I had two thousand
followers because like, okay, noone wanted to hear me sing. When
I was starting out, No onecared. No one cared about anything I
sang, No one cared about medancing, No one gave a friar tuck
until I started Spinning Fire. Andthen I had a post that like blew
(15:37):
up, And by blew up Imean for an account with only two thousand
followers, like it got like fivehundred likes or something, and I was
like, oh, y'all want meto spin fire with my shirt off?
So what I had to figure outwas this is the bait for my music.
So and I love spinning Fire, like, don't get me wrong,
but I was like, oh,y'all want to y'all want a shirtless,
(15:58):
light skinned man dancing around with fireas a hook and then yes, and
then they're like, oh, andyou do music, So like once I
figured that out, UM, andI also UM my agency Jumper Media shout
out to Cole and taught me UMa lot about marketing UM and basically how
(16:19):
to brand myself because I didn't know. I didn't know what to do or
how to post or UM. Youknow how to get followers and honestly,
the biggest secret to growing an accountis what no one wants to do,
and it's to interact with your fanbase. I don't understand why people make
this mistake all the time, andI don't know if it's because they think
they're um they don't have to orwhatever. I'm like, these are the
(16:41):
people liking your posts, these arethe people listening to your music. You
have to message them back. Youhave to say thank you. You have
to say thank you for listening UM. And you have to know how to
UM. You have to know howto promote yourself UM in a way that's
not like condescending. So instead ofbeing like, hey yo, my song
got one hundred thousand, UM listenslike yo, shout out to me like
(17:06):
you have like thank your fans, say thank you for listening, like and
people respond to that because those arepeople. We're all just people. So
show gratitude for your fans. Yeah, that's like, that's how you hook
a fan base. You have tobe good to you. I message.
I spend an hour a day messagingmy fans. I message everybody back an
hour a day out there. Makesure make sure y'all listening to talk to
(17:32):
your fans. Because when he reachedout to us, when Steve said,
let me up right, um,he sent me a message, I responded,
he said. He responded like withinlike thirty six. He was like,
oh, thank you for taking thetime to look at it. I
was like, oh shit, sendme a paragram. I wasn't expecting that
right away. Yeah, so that'sproactive because we're all on like like let's
(17:55):
not like, oh no, Ilike miss the message or whatever. Like
we have our phones in our handsat all times, swiping, posting,
like there is no excuse, likeespecially if like someone's trying to reach out
and give you a wonderful opportunity timeout, time out moment. Look,
I'll be having like ninety miss textmessages, calls. I don't be looking.
(18:19):
I'm sorry. Yeah, I'd bedoing a lot of I do a
lot of stuff. So if you'rebusy, like I'm busy, you know
what I'm saying, Like I don'tnecessarily ladies, you hear that. So
if he's not texting you back,ladies, I'm single. I'm know I'm
I say I'm single, I'm likeChristina. He definitely said that. Yo,
(18:41):
That's not what I've meant to saythough. Yeah, Yo, let's
go to break Bobby. I'm notright back. I love you, Christina.
We'll be right back, Christine, check lice, chake place, cat
(19:26):
boat Eames were back at it again. Y'all know that this we can't lose
what we're talking about money, Whenwe're talking about what they're talking about,
this money, What I'm talking about? What we're talking about money? What
are we're talking about? What they'retalking about? This money? What I'm
talking about? What we're talking about? Money and suggestions? Love you out
(19:57):
here, love you too, norbetter than myself. But I ain't stressed
the service looking that money couldn't handleservice. Put my focus on progression.
Get what we're talking about money whenwe're talking about. What they're talking about
this money, What I'm talking about, What we're talking about money? What
(20:18):
are we talking about? What they'retalking about this money? What I'm talking
about. What we're talking about money, What we're talking about, what we're
(20:41):
talking about. You already know whatI'm talking about talking about talking about what
we're talking about money, What we'retalking about, what they're talking about this
money, What I'm talking about. What'll we be talking about? Money?
Will be talking about what they're talkingabout, this money, What I'm talking
about. What we're talking about money, When we're talking about what talking about
this money? What I'm talking about? Who were talking about money? Will
(21:03):
be talking about? Who'll be talkingabout this money? What I'm talking about.

You already know we're in the building. Sheo nation y'all? Yeah,
(25:33):
yeah, okay, Hey, hey, oh my god, that was monumental.
That was monumental, Jill. Thatwas definitely a very nice right,
thank you. That was man.I was ready to join in, and
you know what I'm saying, Iwanted to get up more mistake. I
(25:55):
felt like we was you know whatI'm saying, at the continent right then.
I told so anyway, my guyright here did a great performance for
us. We definitely appreciate that.Um yeah, you're definitely a free Nancy
dude. You know what I'm saying. I hear of your music. You
know it's hot in here. It'shot here. You just turned the temperate
shop. I'm sweating, hit thising. I was to hit thishing this.
(26:22):
I was got the dancing girls outthere and all of that. They just
ran out the back the dancing Thatcommercial be like stopped the cat. Yeah,
I'm definitely front. I'm definitely front. I'm definitely front. Know not
that was that was for real? You just had you just had my lady
and my kids they at home, they danced in front of them and all
of that. You know, wouldthat be funny if during that performance,
(26:42):
like I didn't tell you, andlike there was a bust full of strippers
that all just came out start.I definitely definitely just the whole twelve the
post coming down from the ceiling. You guys, like what and then like
twelve strippers would have been amazing.Yeah, And I would have been amazing
(27:04):
because and then Cardi B just showsup for no reason, just like flash
a champagne, are like, whatisening? How'd you? Um? My
very good friend and producer Jemis Okay, all right, are we gonna get
real? All right, We're gonnaget real. We're gonna get I do.
(27:26):
I don't give you a chance.I just I just got you know
what I'm saying. Okay, Sookay, So I'm gonna say this because
now it's a matter of like publicrecord, and I really don't care,
um because there's their articles online aboutit also public record. Um. So
my old manager, who shall remainnameless, because you're not getting a shout
(27:47):
out. So my old manager umrobbed me and drained my bank account.
Yeah, out in Cali. Sothat's for real, that's what happened.
I got I got scammed. Theyhe enroned me, took all my money,
like total total scams, shams, playing strains and automobile scams, shams
(28:07):
and I don't know, um andscandals. So that happened, and I
was like, I don't know whatto do. So UM my friend Jemosi
Um he hit me up and hewas like, he was like, I'm
really sorry that happened. He waslike, you know what, he said,
don't even worry about it, hesaid, using to clear your head,
take some space. So he flewme out to New York first class,
(28:30):
by the way. That was thebest champagne, and I was sipping
it up because I was sad.Um so I went out in Harlem.
He lived in Harlem, and hesaid stay as long as you like,
and he said, don't worry aboutit, Let's just work on music.
So I performed with him at HarlemNights and at um Um Ashford and Simpsons
um that place, and they lovedit and you actually saw part of it
(28:56):
in the promo and I was like, oh, they like my music,
I said, is New York theplace? And then d Harlem welcomed me
with open arms, which let menot shading LA. I love LA and
I love New York. LA didnot. LA was like, how many
followers do you have? Can youperform here tonight? You need to get
(29:18):
your following up? Like that wasLA and I love La, but like
but like, y'all would not bookme and I was good. I was
spinning fire and singing and you wouldnot book me. And I was like,
um, I was like okay,So moved to New York and they
were like, oh, you cansing? When can you start? And
I was like what They're like,yeah, we'll pay you. I was
like really They were like yeah, like it's all good, Like you're a
(29:42):
singer, you should get paid tosing. Like and I was able to
work as a singer. I didn'thave to work two jobs, three jobs
like I was in LA. Iwas. I was a night nurse,
not sleeping, going to the studio, doing performances, and then working as
a third shift nurse. I didin home care and I like two hours
of sleep. That was a roughthree years. So basically you was he
(30:06):
was He was giving people needles wipingass no no, no, no needles,
no needles, no needles. Um, listen, listen. I said
that for a reason though, right, this is this, I'm saying that
to show you all this. Right. You could start anywhere, right,
but if you work hard, yougo from changing adult diapers to changing mics
(30:29):
on a stage to feel me,or you go from you know, just
you know, changing into nice clothesand everything's done for you if you work
hard enough. You know what I'msaying. So that's why I really said
that that was a sege. Youknow, hard work. He's not he's
There is no substitute for hard work. And to anyone listening who's an artist,
um, it's gonna take longer thanyou think. Like, it's gonna
(30:52):
take a lot longer than you think. And I like, let me say
this, um, coming from someonelower class family, no connections to music
besides my mom, who ironically singsbetter than me, but she sings in
the church with no connections to music, no following. It took me fifteen
(31:15):
years of struggling and I started quoteunquote like late. Like it takes it
takes a while to build your brandand build your craft in all of those
stories you hear about overnight success area lie. Those people have been working
when Ariana Grande blew up. AriannaGrande was on Broadway when she was a
kid. She started early. Shewas a kid on Broadway. She started
(31:37):
early before she became the phenomenon weknow her today. But and I wish
they would shine a light on that, the hard work. Taraja p Henson
coming to Holloway coming. I lovewhen she won let a war and she
said, please wrap, I wouldat twenty years for this. You gonna
wait. And it's like twenty years, twenty years of no, twenty years
of struggling, twenty years of EBT, twenty years of and she had a
(32:00):
kid. She was doing all thisas a single mom. And it's just
like, we need to shine alight on that. More like well,
they don't, you know, theydon't. They don't talk about these things.
A lot of the like you know, the labels they tell them,
you know, keep your personal glamorousenough. Yeah, once you get to
a certain like real people like real, that's what vibes because we're all struggling.
(32:22):
Everybody, we are struggling. It'shard, we all struggling. It
makes you. It doesn't make youweak, it makes you human. We
all, yeah, we all hurt, we all get screwed over, we
all get cheated on. Like weall get scammed. I hope I ain't
getting cheated on. We all cryalone in a bathroom and pretend we're not.
(32:43):
It's Christina still watching. They seemedto text me always single now with
em, So I don't know what'sgonna happen home. I walk in the
house she's making I want walk intomy blood fire up. Remember, wants
to be over the head. I'msaying, you're gonna be mad at that
joke too, So you know, like you know, so we gotta you
(33:09):
know, we just gotta. Wedo it for the family, man,
We do it for the fans.We do it for the people that uh
you know that want to see us, you know, be successful the same,
you know, just like this brotherright here, This is why we
do this. Man. So whatis it like? You know? You
ain't gonna get over this though, are you? What is it like you
living in Harlem right now? Um? I'm back and forth from Harlem,
(33:31):
So I'm like staying in Harlem likewhen I have like, um gigs here.
But like Harlem's home and I didn'tthink it would be um, but
like it's just everyone says that peoplefrom New York are mean. People are
just real like that, like that'sthere's nothing this now. We all mean
we you know we we we meannice people, right, so check this
(33:54):
out right, so we like meannice people. So you know, because
I work in the city, Iwork. I work in Grand Center right
now. That's my new uh sitethat I'm on right, So I was
just there. Well i'll tell youlater where you'll see me at. You
know, I'm working there all thetime. Why don't you get me a
ride? I mean, once yougot to get on the train. I
(34:16):
know it's faster, I give youa ride back to the city. But
you know what I'm saying, Likein the city, you may get on
the train. It's faster, Yeah, it's much faster. Yeah, you
try to get on the like publicdo not public transportation. Get in the
car and try to drive somewhere uplike Fifth Avenue two three in the in
the evening. You're gonna be youain't gonna get jammed up four hours,
(34:38):
but fifteen blocks in about foot infive minutes. You know what I'm saying,
and then you got to find aparking spot. Well, yeah,
we're not even going after getting outthe call. We're getting the train in
the city. It's a pity becausewe just can't. So where have you
performed that in New York? Withsome of the places you performed in the
city. Um, I've performed atGrammarcy, I've performed at UM, Harlem
(35:02):
Knights, of course, my home, UM, d Ashford and Simpson's Bar.
Um. What was that bar inthe Upper West Side that I always
used to I'm Cornerstone. Um,a lot of pubs um or else?
Oh, Tribeca rooftop Um. Okay, you people from New York City,
(35:28):
if you go to Tribecca, youbet to be ready to spend some chicken.
This is that that crowd bananas theywere they were, um, let's
say they were on uppers, downersand candy corns. Bonker. I was
like, like, very, veryvery you get one like like, as
(35:52):
a performer, you get a fewshows where like, you know, it's
bonkers when the people are reaching onstage and trying to grab you or trying
to like pull you to dance withthem, which I always find so funny
because I'm and they really just hide. I grab they the cougars love me,
(36:16):
the cougars and the saber tooths theyalways trying to grab me. Hold
on that's right. What the hellis the saber that's okay. There's cougars
age group like forty forty to fifty, and then there's saber tooths, the
sixty and seven still get crunk holdon you. But saber tooth, No,
(36:40):
saber tooth. They're out there anyway. Granny's out there. She's coming
for you. I'm sorry, I'msorry. What we choking about. Granny
will be choking about what we're talkingabout. She takes out her teeth,
(37:00):
drops them in the glasses with ohmy god, I'm gonna stop. I'm
sorry. Okay, what were yousaying? It was this guy over here.
He knows he slipped that little Youknow what? You asked me something?
What what I swear? You askedme something? And I didn't answer
it? About the hall? Aboutokay, where have you performed? No?
(37:22):

go check that out. Lou singlefeaturing Geo coming soon, real soon,
wad again Sauce No, no,no, it was saying else. It
was saying else. It was somethingelse, saw us else. No,
it was something else that you hadsaid earlier. You had a song that
(39:36):
y'all splash. Oh, that's right, splash. I coined it. Yeah,
we're gonna let you get about that. You know we're gonna platinum.
Baby, We're gonna platinum. Yeah, you don't even pay him no more.
Hold On, we're gonna play Sauceone thirty three. That's the name
of this song, right, here. That's what we gonna call it.
I know that's what you. Iain't gonna get into that, but we
(39:58):
know that's what we're gonna call it. Okay, sauce one thirty three,
Okay, let's get it bomb howGeo turn that thing up? Geo Nation
Baby? Hold on playing, holdon? Here we go? We in
what till me come home baby? What time you come on home baby?
Touchdow, let's go. That's whatI was just how we're time to come
(40:34):
home? I thought it was impossible. How dare you look that bad?
I'm feeling unstoppable. I think that'llmake you mad. Thought it was impossible.
Call off those concubines. Get intype bolacle, gave me all your
sweaty dom bro Cross, Can yoube Geo? Make shit tapping? You
(41:01):
got the sauce? Did I getmy boy to crawl? I don't care?
You be the boy? Tell mecome a home baby? What's time
to come a home baby? Wetell me come a home baby? Tell
me come on? You're Micael's off, Jay Jackie. What's time to come
(41:22):
a home baby? Okay, what'stime to come a home baby? What's
time to come a home baby?Huh? This ain't giving me cooler the
gang. You're cool. You mightcheck this out right, you shout out
to cool? Oh right there,we need some of that cool champagne.
Sweeter than chere. We don't women'sbaby. So when you when you when
(41:49):
you saw that, we see tomaking a director don't baby? Okay,
okay, okay, do you wantthe story? Okay? Okay, so
oh my goodness, Um, it'smy mom watching. Okay. So,
so I'm gonna need you to turnaway for us to give us two minutes
more. So I moved. Imoved to an apartment. We're not going
(42:10):
to be specific because people know Imoved to an apartment and I was uh
sessed um with my roommate. AndI did not disclose this, so all
I could do was put it ina song. But I was like,
like, have you ever met someonewho just like you look at them and
(42:31):
like your mind just explodes. You'renot a hold on you? Would you
really trying to say you say youlook at him that woman? No?
No, it was like so,so I was like, So I was
like I need to I need totransmute all of this energy um somewhere else.
So I um, so I wrotethe song what time You Coming Home
(42:53):
Baby is like because we would likealways like hang out after so I'd be
like, what time to come ahome baby? Which time become a home
baby? Um, nothing ever happened, but I just think it's a funny
song about, um, wanting tosleep with your roommate and not saying any
like and not saying and just notsaying anything. And that's a crazy thing
(43:15):
about show folk is that like,um, we're all like in New York,
we're all hustling, we're all liketrying to like save our coin to
put in our music. So likeyou could have six roommates and more than
likely half of them are women, half of them are guys, and one
is at least an adult, likeonly pant Star. I don't know why
(43:37):
that's the formula, but like,so it's so many adults. What's an
adult I need to know? Inadult? Um, like someone so like
people in their twenties and then likean adult as in someone who's like forty,
like forty, but like someone justa little bit older who kind of
reels in the crazy yeah yeah yeahyeah, So like it was like an
(43:58):
older like oh I'm I was ontour with Hugh Jackman and now I'm just
taking a break, trying to savesome coin, and people like like that.
Yeah, so they got they gota story. They got a story
already, and you're trying to makeyou trying to put yours together. Yep,
yeah, yeah that's gonna be sometimesyou're old, young nigga. I'm
(44:19):
an old don't don't repeat what Isaid. Just what I'm saying. If
you ain't new, just that, ain't nothing. You you just think that
just you just the first person tosay this, to say that. Anyway.
What I was gonna say earlier was, you know, Harlem is the
mecca of music if you got ifyou make music and this and I'm not
(44:42):
saying this because I'm from New York. I'm not saying this because I'm from
New York. I literally like seeingthis. I've been to Miami, I've
been I've lived in Virginia, Ilived in Georgia. You know, I've
been around in all the southern states, part of me Northwest, um,
you know, Midwest. I've beenaround down And I could say that hallism
(45:02):
when something is hot, they discoverit first. They baby bumping music.
You'd be like, what's that they'dbe like, nah, this is the
new wave. And then the nextyear, next year, you hear the
song it's popping, it's on theradio. You're like, hold on,
like my cousin, he put meon the Young Thug I ain't I ain't
(45:23):
know about Young Thug, and I'mtalking about before he put on you know,
he had the dress thing, youknow on the album. It wasn't
a dress. Actually, I ain'tgonna criticize him with that because it wasn't
address. It was a fancy ensemble, right, so um, shout out
to Young Thug, you know, from your home. You know what I'm
saying. You know what I'm saying. But um, you know yeah yeah
(45:45):
yeah yeah that last coming through meright there. Yeah yeah, ensemble right,
Dennis Rodman did it first. Yeahyeah, but then this is different.
But you know, everything got cometo Hallow. Everything the hottest music.
I remember when the song Grinding cameout. Grinding, Grinding, Yes,
(46:10):
yeah, that was the first player. The first place I heard it
was in Hallow. That was likea year and a half before the record
was was popping. I heard itin Hall of the Dude bumping and he's
like, oh no, this thingfine, right here, do Do Do
Do? Do? Do? DoDo Do Do? Is that the Neptunes?
That's Farrell? He produced that.Shout out to Pharrell we he was
(46:31):
born? I saw him in SepphoraWho he was born? I'm thirty two
and I'm saying that because there's anarticle that's gonna come out that's saying I'm
thirty two, So I have noshame. So so Jill, I'm saying,
when you create music, do youcreate for yourself of the fans?
That was a good question. BothUM. I think I write UM.
(46:55):
Initially I write autobiographically UM. Butwhen it comes to fine tuning, UM,
I like to. I like to, you know, like any relationship,
you have to meet the person halfwayand you have to, you know,
try to make it work. SoI try not to use UM.
One of the things I do,which I know I think, UM,
who does this? The names escapingme? But when I write I don't
(47:17):
try to use any pronouns um,so that UM. And Neo does this.
Neo uses a lot. He alwaysgoes girl and Michael goes girl,
and I'm like, what if agirls sing you the song? So I
try to keep things genderless. Sothe females can project whatever break up or
whatever scenario is and have it betherapeutic for them that I think, like
(47:39):
like even Lutevandras marving gay, evenlike Al Green, like like Al Green
oh Man spending my day, whichis nothing wrong with like being like the
dog gone, girl is mine orwhatever, but it's just not I like
to you know, I want Imake a song and people interpret it however
(48:01):
they want to em boy, likewhen I read my instant messages sometimes and
they're like, oh, your songhelped me so much, like, um,
it's about X Y and Z,and I'm like the song I wrote
that song very selfishly about infactuation. But I'm glad that helped you get through
your I'm glad that helped you getthrough your divorce. But I was just
(48:22):
being horny and stupid, like that'swhat this. But you know, people
interpret it how like it's therapy forsome people. So I try to I
try to come with the coms aconcept, but like you know, you
gotta leave somewhat of a blank slateso people can, um, you know
the message. Yeah, yeah exactly, yeah, yeah, you definitely gottahead,
(48:43):
you gotta you gotta let the peoplefigure it out. You know what
I'm saying. Sometimes you just gottalet the people. Yeah, you gonna
want to figure it out. Butyeah, we definitely gonna have to go
take a quick break because we onlygot like five minutes left, So we're
gonna take a good break and we'dbe right back with your nation. Oh
my god, you know this guyright here. Man, you don't want
me to be talking about what we'retalking about, what we're talking about.
(49:22):
You already know what I'm talking about, talking about, talking about what we're
talking about, money, What we'retalking about, what they're talking about,
this money, what I'm talking about. Who'll be talking about money? Will
be talking about? What they're talkingabout, this money, What I'm talking
about. What we're talking about money, when we're talking about what they're talking
about, this money, what I'mtalking about. Who were talking about money
will be talking about? Who'll betalking about this money, what I'm talking
(49:45):
about. Let's go. If itain't about the money, what we're talking
about, If it ain't about themoney, what we're talking what we're talking
about, money, what we're talkingabout, what they're talking about, this
money, what I'm talking about, what we're talking about money? What are
we talking about? What they're talkingabout? This money? What I'm talking
about? What we're talking about?Money? Paying suggestions? You're out here.
(50:15):
I love you too. That ain'teven know I'm better than myself.
But that ain't stressed the service.Looking that money that couldn't hand the service.
Put my focus on progression again. What are we're talking about money?
When we're talking about what they're talkingabout? This money? What I'm talking
about? What we're talking about money? When are we're talking about what they're
(50:37):
talking about this money? What I'mtalking about? What we're talking about money?
What we're talking about? Ready, let's go love it. Let's go,
(50:58):
