Krousse and I'm Terry Kovarik. A Wolf River man is
sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole
for the murder of his parents. Eric Metzig was convicted
in Winnebago County Court on two counts of first degree
intentional homicide for the shooting deaths of David and Jan
Metsick as they slept in March of twenty twenty three.
Before sentencing, Metsig tried to claim mental illness.

treatment services next year. The Common Council approves a four
percent rate hike for twenty twenty six. Appleton Utilities Director

A two vehicle crashing Dodge County this morning leaves one
person dead. Sheriff's officials say the crash took place at
the intersection of County Highway I and E in the
town of Burnett around eleven twenty five this morning, and
suv heading north on I entered the intersection was struck
by dump truck along E. A sixty four year old
Jeansville woman driving the suv was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sixty six year old man from Randolph driving the
dump truck was taken to the hospital with non life
threatening injuries. Investigators are not sure if the suv failed
to stop at the stop sign, and investigation continues.

The Green Bay Area Public School District issues a warning
about hand foot and mouth disease. The district says the
disease has been detected in some classrooms, but did not
say which schools are affected. HFMD is not normally life threatening,
with typical symptoms including a fever, mouth source, and a
skin rash. Anyone whose symptoms last more than ten days

Wisconsin's ending its budget ear with more money than expected again.
Reporter Raymond Nupert has the numbers.

The Legislative Fiscal Bureau says the state government will end
the year with a general fund surplus of over four
and a half billion dollars about two hundred and seventy
million more than expected. The state brought in over twenty
two billion dollars in taxes, up about five percent from
last year. Governor Tony Evers says he's looking forward to
making smart and strategic investments with that surplus. Republican state

Representative and Legislative Joint Finance Committee co chair Mark Bourne
says Republicans are responsible for the surplus by refusing to

A Manasha Man that traded images of child pornography on
the Internet reaches a plea deal with prosecutors. Todd Grimm
is convicted in Green Bay Federal Court on one count
of receiving child porn while two more charges are dismissed.
Grim was arrested in June of twenty twenty three following
tips about his online activities by the Project Safe Child,
an initiative. He faces up to twenty years in prison

Caution on Wisconsin roads is advised as deer activity increases

Mike's Bakery says their iconic turtle statue was smashed outside
their store on East Mason Street. The incident left the
turtle without a head. In twenty nineteen, turtle statues outside
the store were stolen and never recovered.
