Hey, family, welcome to another hour of declaring the finished work.
This is your host, Pat Rando. Praise God for this
wonderful Thursday afternoon. And I don't know what time of
day or what day of the week it is, depending
on where you're located in this world. But Amen, whenever
(04:31):
you listen, whenever you are listening, this is the time.
This is the now moment. Amen, Glory to God. So
this week I am going to be talking about life
is hard, life is complicated. Now, this is the reality
(05:00):
that we face in the world. This is a reality.
Life is hard, life is complicated. But we get to
choose how we deal with this reality. We can't ignore that.
It's that it's real that life gets hard and life
(05:22):
gets complicated. But we have to acknowledge that in order
to face it correctly. Now, in John sixteen thirty three,
the scripture tells us that in this world you're going
to have trials and tribulations. This is Jesus speaking to
(05:44):
his disciples, actually just before he was to go through
the crucifixion. And in fact, you should read this whole
chapter John sixteen. Read The whole chapter is a wonderful,
wonderful chapter, and he is describing to his disciples what
(06:10):
to expect and just some words to encourage them that
they will be able to stand when they face these things.
Let me read verse thirty three from John sixteen, and
this is English Standard version. I have said these things
(06:31):
to you that in me, in Me, you may have peace.
See that's where the piece is is in Jesus, in Christ.
So even though you're going to face these trials and tribulations,
(06:52):
he's telling you now that in Him you will have peace.
Let me continue reading. The verse goes on to say,
in the world you will have tribulation. But take heart,
Take heart, be courageous. I have overcome the world. He's
(07:18):
overcome the world. He came in this world as a man,
and he showed us as a human, as a human.
He came in this world as a human. Just imagine that.
(07:46):
But the whole purpose was to show us how to
live in this world, this world with the trials and
the tribulations, because he faced trials and tribulations as well
while he was here. But he wanted to give us
a living pattern of what it is like to be
(08:09):
human but also to be spirit, because we are human,
but we're also spirit. And Jesus demonstrated to us what
it's like to be human and to be spirit. Now,
(08:33):
some people might teach that God has ordained for us
to go through the fire, to go through these tribulations,
but I don't There's nothing in the scriptures to me.
That indicate that our God is that kind of God
that he wants to teach us through causing us to
(08:57):
go through trials and try. He has not ordained this,
but he knows and he's allowing. He's forewarning us. Mankind
are the ones with the issues. We are the ones
(09:19):
with the issues. We are the ones with the identity issues,
the identity crisis, not knowing who we are or why
we're even here. We're the ones who have been given
charge over the earth. Mankind was given charge over the
(09:41):
earth as caregivers of the earth, as stewards over the earth.
But we continue to follow our own plans and for mankind,
clearly it's going to take generations committed to shedding these
(10:04):
old skins. The old skins are those layers that we
accumulate in our lives that we assume that's our identity,
but it's not. And my personal experience is that now
(10:28):
I have lived in this world for over a half
a century, okay, over half a century. I've been here,
and I have learned that this is an ongoing process.
(10:49):
I have stripped away at so many layers in my
life over the years. And because you don't reckon It's
not like you recognize all these things that are false
in your life and you just dump them all at once.
Now you go through this growing process where you're gaining
(11:12):
this knowledge, this understanding, and allowing God's wisdom to flow
through your life, and then you begin to see things. Amen.
In this scripture when it talks about in the world,
you will have trials and tribulations, just talking about you know,
(11:36):
these worldly affairs, you know, the earthly goods and riches
and advantages and pleasures, and knowing that these things are hollow,
they're not really because it's not the reality of something
(12:00):
that will never go away. It's not eternal, and it's frail,
and it's fleeting. And oftentimes the riches and the advantages
of this world will oftentimes seduce man I should say mankind,
(12:23):
because I'm talking men and women mankind. These things will
often seduce us and become an obstacle in our relationship
with Christ. The Lord said that his grace is sufficient,
so we are not without a helper. Amen, we're not
(12:53):
Jesus was explaining in John chapter sixteen. He was explaining
that he had to go away, but when he physically
left this earth, that the Holy Spirit would come, the
Spirit of Truth, because there were things that he could
(13:14):
not yet say while he was still here on earth
that man was ready to hear. But the job of
the Spirit of Truth, the responsibility of the Spirit of Truth,
would be to come and reveal those things that Jesus
is speaking to us. Amen. The Holy Spirit's work being
(13:42):
to come and convict the world of sin. I zoomed
in on that statement in John sixteen because I thought, Okay,
so the Holy Spirit's job is to convict the world.
(14:03):
It's something that he does, not something that we do.
But it is the work of the Holy Spirit to
come and bring conviction to the world. Let's move down
to my grace. Let's go back to My grace is sufficient.
(14:23):
And this is found in Second Corinthians in chapter twelve,
and I'm just gonna read verse nine, but read the
whole chapter. My grace is sufficient for you, for my
power is made perfect in weakness. And this is Jesus. Actually,
(14:43):
this is the Holy Spirit response to Paul because he's
being challenged. They refer to it as a thorn in
his flesh that was put there by the devil. But
God is using it to Actually, he didn't put it there.
(15:09):
But he's using what the devil used by putting this
thorn in Paul's flesh, this thing that he's trying to
have removed, and God is using this as a way
to get Paul to shift perspective. He says that his sufficient,
(15:31):
his grace is sufficient, for my power is made perfect
in weakness. And that's Paul has the revelation that then
therefore I will glory in my weakness because in his
power he's made strong in the power of God. The
(15:56):
Lord also says that his mercies are new every day,
you know, and we definitely need that. And Lamentations chapter three,
and I'm going to start in verse twenty two and
I'll read a couple of verses. The steadfast love of
the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end.
(16:18):
They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. The
Lord is my portion, says my soul. Therefore I will
hope in him. His mercies are new, his mercies never
(16:40):
come to an end. Just think about that, his mercies
never come to an end. He's a merciful God. These
things are the things that we need to focus on
(17:04):
so that as we move to this world and we're
faced with these trials and these tribulations, that we are
able to find peace because we can find peace in Jesus,
in Christ. And the scriptures serve as a reminder to
(17:26):
us of what we have in Him. We have his
grace which is sufficient, and that even when we are weak,
his power is made perfect in our weakness. His mercies
are new every day. Every day, his mercies are new,
(17:48):
so you don't have to spend time going over your
failures from the day before. The day before no longer exists.
You're in a new day, and your focus should be
(18:11):
that the Lord is with me, and he's merciful, and
that his faithfulness is It's great. It's not just a
little faithfulness. It's great. It's a great faithfulness, a great faithfulness.
And therefore we can have hope in God because of
(18:32):
his faithfulness, because of his mercies. Great is his faithfulness
toward us. And it says, and the scripture says, even
when we're faithless. In two Timothy, Chapter two, verse thirteen says,
if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot
(18:57):
deny him. I am going to stop at this place,
and I just want to remind you even though life
is hard and life is complicated. That's the reality of
this world. That we get to choose how we deal
(19:22):
with this reality. Jesus has made a way, it says,
he says about himself that he is the Way, the Truth,
and the Life. Amen. So that's my encouraging word for today.
I'm going to stop right here, and I hope that
(19:46):
you will actually join the broadcast tomorrow. Tomorrow's broadcast on
Friday at seven pm. And this is our Friday? Is this?
I believe it's I mean, I'm always doing this. Oh,
this is the third Friday, so excuse me. The third
(20:11):
Fridays are Matters of the Heart, Amen, Matters of the Heart,
and it starts at seven pm Eastern Standard time. And
it's basically a ministry for those who are still yet unmarried.
(20:34):
But I think it's also very good. They cover a
lot of things, which is also good for those who
are already married as well. Amen. So God bless you
be blessed. Go back read these chapters. Just allow the
Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of truth, to start
(20:55):
to reveal some things. Keep going deeper and deeper into
the this water of life that has been given to us. Amen.
It takes away the thirst that you know. I'm thinking
about when Jesus was talking to the Samaritan woman at
(21:16):
the well, and he was saying that this natural water
that you have, you know you're gonna thirst, always thirst forward.
But he has a water to give us that will
rid us of the thirst. And for us it's it's
(21:38):
a process. So there are things that we may have
thirsted after in our lives, and as we begin to
drink this water that comes from Christ, this thirst is
being removed and we are being fulfilled by a spiritual
(21:59):
water so that we never thirst that thing again. Amen, God,
bless you, Thank you for listening.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
