Speaker 1 (00:22):
Does your naven need a quarterback this year? Can't relate?
This is a Tyler Shuck promotional video. Walcome in. Who'd
ask to a twenty to seventeen come from behind game
win and drive? Not been able to say that in years?
Who that victory? Sweeping the cal Oine of Panthers? Right
the ass back on to Carolina? Who that to you?
Welcome in? I hope you're having a great time. It's

(00:44):
nice to enjoy New Orleans Saints football again. Now some
might argue this means nothing and the New Orleans Saints
still suck and they've only won four games, but you
know what, Guess what they've won three of their past five.
Guess what New Orleans Saints won today all the matters.
Guess what New.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Orleans Saints took down another divisional leader when they've not
been able to do that consistently four years?

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Who that nation? Welcome to you. I hope you havn't
a fantastic date.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
If you're coming in here wanting to find anything negative
about the New Orleans Saints, go ahead and pop on
over the next podcast and they might have it for
you today. I simply cannot are there problems with this team. Absolutely.
Am I clueless to those problems existing?

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Absolutely not. But did the quarterback of the New Orleans
Saints go over three hundred toty yards and a TD
with no turnovers and managed to throw seventy five per
cent of his passes complete? He did. Did you see
the New Orleans Saints run four over eighty yards and
do it effectively? You did?

Speaker 2 (01:37):
And that's with your running back going out? No, not,
Alva Kamarat, Devin Neil.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Did you see Chris Olive come up in big moments
number fourteen yards of reception? You did? You see the
defense holding offense blow twenty points again? You did?

Speaker 2 (01:50):
What can you say about this team? Besides clearly we're
winning the Super Bowl. If it was it was, if
it was like three months ago, I'd make that statement.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
I can't make it now. But but what a game?
What a game? What a game? We're going to do our
normal go through the.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Lines as we are allowed to do following a winner
or a loss.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
There will be a little bit of motion in our voice.
We might not look at everything analytically. That's okay, ladies, gentlemen.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
You can be hype, you can be upset after every
game that's fine, a little bit of leeway there. So
don't expect these takes to be perfect, but expect them
to hit you no matter what.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Who'dad to you, God, bless hope y'all are here.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
I will say this though, when I made these comments
during the game, if you are following me on X,
a couple of things happened here that you've not seen
this team do with a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
And y'all look very clear. I do not believe wins are.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
A quarterback stat but quarterback is the most positioned important
position in the NFL. And that's without debate, without debate,
all of those things said. Today, you saw some things
happen that you've not seen happen consistently in New Orleans
in a very very long time.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
What are some of those things I'm referring to?

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Number one, the Saints traveling down the field to make
plays happen, especially in key moments. For example, the New
Orleans Saints in the first half days started off on
their own five yard line.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Not only did they start off on their own five
yard line.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
They had multiple offensive penalties that throughout this year. Everybody
who was watching New Orleans Saints can remember where offensive
penalties were what drive killers. This New Orleans Saints team
was one of the worst teams in the NFL this year.
When they had to face second and third in longs
ninety five yards, didn't care touchdown bringing it back to

(03:40):
end the game. You've got less than a minute. We've
got to get up to the line. Now, we gotta
make a plate. Now we got getting range of our.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Irish kicker who hasn't even known what American football is
for more than two years, so you can make a
game winning kick, which he did.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Shout out to Charlie Smith, my friend, you are owed
all the pints. I hope somebody buys you several cases
of a Beta in New Orleans today.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
You deserve every beer. Congratulations my friend. I love you
walking to the land of opportunity where that means that
you're raising Saints right now above the waterline and it
is greatly appreciated. Shado out to you, my friend. But
the big thing with today is you.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Just saw a New Orleans team that does not look
like the New Orleans team.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
And keep on.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
This is not just be he's talking about the beginning
of the year. This is the Andy Dalton led team.
This is the Derek Carr led team. You don't see
this team with game winning drives. In fact, New Orleans Saints,
you've not seen.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
I hate to be this. I'm not trying to bring
him negative. This factual.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
This is the first fourth quarter comeback you've seen all
year long. It's not happened yet. This is the first
recorded fourth quarter.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Comeback all year long. We'll take it a step further.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
There was not a single fourth quarter comeback in the
entirety of twenty twenty four. Don't believe me. Go look
up on Pro Football Reference if you want to check
every couquarterback. No matter if it's Derek Carr, j Cane
or Tasom Hill, doesn't matter who through the football. Not
a single fourth quarter comeback in twenty twenty four, not
a single one twenty twenty three.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
Doesn't matter if it's Derek car, Jameis Winston, tast the mill.
Not a single fourth quarter comeback in twenty twenty three
didn't happen. No, it did not exist. No, you have
to go all the way back the Jameis Winston led
twenty twenty two Saints. It's a big deal. It's worth
talking about. It's worth shouting out New Orleans came from

(05:32):
behind against the division leader. Big upset. Reason to be excited.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Reason to be excited when you have this team have
multiple play, multiple drives ten plus yards, able to continue
their game.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Worth talking about that.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Six for eleven on third down fifty five percent New
Orleans offense converts on third downs. One for two on
fourth down, bigger important number, bigger analytic two for three
the red zone. They're getting down inside the ten, they're
getting down inside of the twenty.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
These past six weeks, they're scoring the football.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Look, we acknowledge it is too late New Orleans Saints
for us to make an impact in the playoffs now.
But all year long, you've been looking for a reason,
and why should I be excited about the future? Games
like today tell you why Devin vle A going out
with injury. Before his injury, five receptions on only six
targets for sixty nine yards, almost a fourteen yard average.

(06:29):
We worried, would that be there when you get rid
of guys like Rashid Shahed, you guys, ridd of guys
like Brandon Coach Chris lave is taking a step up
to be that Juwan Johnson dude, I'm sorry. Look, I'm
gonna say it today, Juwan Johnson, for all the slander
this year. And I'm not saying you haven't screwed up,
Juwan Johnson. It's not what I'm saying. But let me

(06:50):
just say today, Juwan Johnson, I owe you flowers today,
Juan Johnson, I owe you praise.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Juwan Johnson, thank you.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
To yourself. Pass that that pro Bowl level tight end play.
You keep that up, sir, and I will shut my mouth.
I will just keep it shut. I will keep my
fat white ginger mouth shut so much.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
But at the end of the day, it's the poise that.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
You're seeing from the team. We talked about this in
the win just here recently. What did we talk about
in that win? We said it was the grit you're
seeing from this team. That's what makes it different.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
It's the showing up when you're done, you're cooked, you're
not making the playoffs. It's the grit. It's that little extra.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
And as painful as this might be to say, because
we've gone through a year of horribleness in New Orleans,
your New Orleans Saints are on a win streak.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
I know it's only two, but damn it. Be excited.
You just went one in freaking eight. Almost that seven.
It was one and eight. You went one and eight.
New Orleans. Celebrate your two game win streak. Ladies and gentlemen,
celebrate it. Be excited.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Call your mammy, Call everybody. The New Orleans Saints are
back to winning football. There's only three games left. Okay,
you're not changing everything that has been negative this year,
but man, if there's not some things to see moving forward.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
The fact that you have now swept a division rival
in Caroline Panthers.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
In fact, you've had four divisional games, and what do
we say every year if you win your division.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
If you win your division, you're making the playoffs. That's
winning football.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
You win your division first, Well, you've had four division
games since Tyler Shuck became the starting quarterback. You've had
four division games as you kind of redid a lot
of the roster, and.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
You've won three of them. That says a lot.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
It also says a lot that you lost to the
one with a losing record, but that is what it is.
Maybe that was the one time we're trying to help
our draft status. Three division wins out of four in
the past six weeks. Right, of your past five games,
you've won three of them. This is a different team,
and it's crazy how the team can change in the

(09:07):
second half of a season. That's exactly what you see today,
and it's guys that are stepping up being given opportunities.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
It is Tyler Shuck.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Look, Tyler shuck two hundred and seventy two yards, passing
no turnovers, a one to ten rating.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Throws the tuddy runs for another thirty two yards. That's
three hundred and four total yards. For those of you
who like to keep count at home, that came from
your quarterback with no turnovers. That's said. Look, it's one game,
but it's damn important number. Shout it out. Devin Neil

(09:41):
sadly got injured, but limited touches four yards of carry
that matters. Vela people asking half the year, why did
we trade a fourth rounder for this guy?

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Well, we finally got an idea of it today. It
took a while for more decide to use it, but
we started to see that.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
We started to see today Austin who came into this game,
by the way, one touch all year long, three touches today,
critical touches. It's guys coming in and you can tell
there is a belief on this team.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
And I know this might sound is different than what
a lot of people who listen to show used to
because we stick very close.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
To film and analytics.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
But this is also why I'm so big on trade
based analysis, the proverbial eye test, because there are elementses
you simply cannot quantify. And a part of that is
how much does the team believe in themselves regardless of
the record. Do they believe right? Will the guys stand
up and go and say, Hey, I'm gonna go make
a play? You saw that today. This team has nothing

(10:40):
to play for in terms of playoffs, but the cosmid professionals,
they come in, they show out. You've got to Mario
Davis on the opposite side of the field recording his
fifteenth hundred tackle in his career, or the third player
since I think two thousand to do that showing up.
You got Chase Sean coming with a critical sack. Here
at the end of the game, you still had Cameron
Jorge and who somehow at my age thirty six years old,

(11:04):
managing to maintain containment on the outside on Bryce Young. No,
we didn't get a sack, but he resulted in multiple
plays that only were two to three yards gain, where
we know that Bryce Young can absolutely scoot and he
made some great plays. None of this is to diminish
what happened to that quarterback on the other side.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
But I will say if we're just if we're doing
that box score analysis that everybody on the internet likes
to do, right, well, my quarterback through seventy five percent
of completion.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
After we get rid of Rashid sha Heat and Brandon
Cooks and we've got an offensive line that is turns
out a little bit right. Because this was not a
pure positive game yet we'll go over the penalties that
was still a negative. But when you've got guys like
Austin stepping up, tipped and stepping up, Stole, stepping up,
estimate stepping up, you got to take no sens to
why your quarterback throwing two hundred seventy two yards over

(11:53):
eight and a half a clip. And this is one
thing I was really loud about the beginning of the season.
An effective offense in the today's NFL cannot have their
quarterback averaging five yards a throw. You just can't. Good
news eight and a half. Chris o lave back over
fourteen yards per reception.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Love it. He still had that one drop. Damnit a
lave that won. But man, you made up for buddy,
You made up for it.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
And Bryce shaung who I think is a talented young QB,
looks like he came in second in this match.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
It might only be one match, but looks like he
came in second this time. All the point of the
big opening of this show, and for those who listen,
thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Hood appreciate y'all is this show. There's reason to be
excited right now. There's reason to be excited, and that's
a lot of fun. But let's talk about this team
as a whole. There were some things that obviously are
still problematic now. The Panthers shot themselves in the foot
with eleven penalties, but New Orleans had nine penalties to day.
That's a problem, right. New ors has still got to
continue to clean it up. They set themselves up in

(12:50):
a lot of third and lungs. Now, thankfully Tyler Shuck
the offense. Kella Moore, we had some great pickups by
Vela to move those of the players where they manage
to get out of those second and third and longs
they created on themselves for penalties. By that's off of
a sudden that it still has to get clean up
this year. Right, You don't save everything else for next
year to get cleaned up. You've got to clean that up.
But that is still a problem.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
Penalties have been an issue all year.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
They're getting better, but that has got to change. I'm
so glad that we saw them convert some of these
big things. But you just cannot be getting nine, ten, eleven,
twelve penalties of a game.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
You just cannot do that and consistently win. But the
other things they did do well. Number one, time possession.
You win time possession, you typically win games.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
That's just a consistent truth and it has been so
since as long as any of you been watching football.
You win time possession, you typically win games. You look
at it in terms of their average yard a game,
five point three yards of play, fantastic, right, getting over
fifty percent of your third downs fantastic, sixty seven percent
in the red zone, fantastic.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
And this is still a team, by the way, that
is a long way to go. And let me tell
you why I believe they have a long way to go.
You only score twenty points. Right, So all the pauses
I'm throwing out, Let's be clear.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
One of the other issues I've said all year long
is this offense can't score more than twenty twenty four points.
They've still got to do that. But you'll take a
twenty to seventeen beat down of your division rival and
what many people will consider a meanless game because it
shows heart, it shows character, Matthew says. Panthers fan here
crashing out. Look, I'm not gonna lie to you. Panthers

(14:18):
should have won this game. Panthers are a better team,
trap game. Saints wanted it more.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
That's all it is. Saints wanted it more.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Sorry for you Panthers fans, but get your team to
have some want, get them to have a little bit
more grit, right, no reason. I'm just being honest as
a Saints fan, as somebody who covered the team professionally
for years, as a guy who's worked with the coaching staff.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Let me tell.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
You, Caroline's roster's got more talent on it. Not trying
to be mean the Saints fans. Saints fans know that
they have more talent on the roster. Saints a better
team today, Saints a better team this year.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
How do I know? Brooms sweep sweep.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Very curious see how this matchup looks next year, especially
when the offense of line hopefully gets more work done
to it. Hopefully also when the defense gets more done
to it in terms of pressure. Because one thing Bryce
Shung did not experience a lot, it's a ton of
pressure now. He got pushed out the pocket a lot,
but containment was broken many times through the middle of
the field. That's I mean, the defense has got his
problems too, But the Saints are better than the Panthers

(15:24):
in terms of the head to head and.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
I just think it really comes down to grit.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Who wanted it more when you got guys again on
offense like valle Estimate Austin coming up.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
Austin had one touch all year long. Man, that's one
of the ones. That's killer to me because I'm going
to invoke a name I should not invokee But it's
because I'm excited. So many of the people in the
chat will forgive me.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
The last time we saw people stepping up who had
one touch in the season type numbers who came in
and had a big game. You got to go back
to the Sean Payton eraw like there has to be
a belief in a team to show up and do
stuff like that. I believe that, Like there are things
that you just cannot quantify. You can't quantify momentum, right,
does it exist? One hundred percent believe it does.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
I believe momentimum in teams, especially American football, momentum exist
week to week practice of practice. Right, your identity, your
culture is a team matters.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
And what you saw of the New Orleans says today
and last week two straight upsets, is a team that
has an identity and a belief in themselves.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
They've not got it fully fleshed out. There's plenty of
things they can do better, but they believe. Right.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
For reference, by the way, Austin last year eleven reception
one hundred fifty one yards.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
This year one target.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
That's it til today, five targets, three reception thirty three yards.
A team that's showing this type of grint and heart
makes me excited.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Don't believe it's the I don't believe all the answers
to here in New Orleans. There's a lot that they
got to do the best first time all year. The
number one the New Orleans things have been on a
winning streak.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
And look, I'm not trying to get over confident, but
I am saying next week very winnable. You can bring
the New York Jets here to your house and you
can beat them to win three in a row. You
can go to Tennessee and beat them to win four
in a row. You can go to Atlanta and, please God,

(17:27):
beat them for five in a row.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
Now, I know everybody out there is a rev. You're
being ridiculous, and you know what, I am a little bit.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
I told you I just watched New Orleans Saints to
a last second field goal to come from behind and
win in the fourth quarter against the division leader.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
I'm allowed to be a little ridiculous, but realistically, look
at the teams that you have left to face. They're
all losing teams. They're all teams fighting for the same thing.
Who's gonna draft higher?

Speaker 2 (17:53):
And some of you might go, Rev, dammit, we don't
want to win all those games.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
I do.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
I want this team to do it because what's more
important than drafting top five is having a culture that
players believe in. It's having a system that everybody can
buy into and wants to be a part of. That
is far more important than whoever you can draft in
the top five, far more important.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
Now, it's not saying there aren't.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Extremely talented players in the draft every year that who
would not, of course want to have. But what's more
important is establishing a culture that players want to buy into,
free agents want to come into, players who get drafted want.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
To They want to pound the rock for right. Then
there's the other aspect of this that we've had a
tiptoe around all year long. I've tiptoed around all year long.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Games like this are why people like myself and others
out there said Tyler Schuck has a better chance of
being the future of the team than Spencer Rounder. Look,
I've tiptoed around it. I've pussy footed around it enough.
Shuck is the better quarterback.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
He just is. He's overcome the issues that he had.
He is not perfect.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
There's a lot of things that Tylers Huck can get
better at same thing with Spencer Ratler, and I still
think Spencer Ratler could be the guy.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
But Spencer Utler just let a fourth quarter come back.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
He gaus a division opponent, a division leader, won the
game at home in front of a crowd who no offense.
Saints fans, if you've been at a game this year,
or if you've listened to him on the broadcast, the
New Orleans Saints fan base does not believe in this team.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Okay, I'm not.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
Saying that as an insult. Our team was three to
ten coming into the day. I don't expect y'all to
load up the dome with seventy thousand diehards and scream
your hearts out one hundred and twenty decibels for no
freaking reason. That's not an indictment on the fans, right.
The fans should support, sure, but that should only be
excited if the team is good. That's a fair requirement.

(19:51):
That goes out to Miss Gail Mickey Loomis everybody. You
better make a good team. If you expect us to
buy tickets, pay for your ridiculously pribace hot dogs and
the most expensive beer in the freaking league, you better
make a team freaking good.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
But listen to that broadcast. Do you hear the Saints
fans going crazy in the first half? No, you don't,
And in fact, look around you see a lot of
Saints fans standing like I am right now, arms crossed,
and waiting looking to see should I care? Should I
renew my season tickets next year? You can't tell me.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
You go to a game like today and you leave
and you go, I don't see it. You see it
in games like today, and I'm not saying it last forever.
Maybe we get a rude awakening with New York again
postgame reaction. You're allowed to be a little bit emotional,
You're allowed to be a little bit off helter. Two
wins in a row Division leaders games you have to

(20:41):
win to prove that you deserve to be on this
roster next year.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
And they're doing it.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
They're doing it, and Tyler shuck Man has shown the
clutch that you need. Tyler shuck still needs to perform
well in the next three games. And Tyler shuck completely
you know, shucks the bed. I'm not gonna sit here
and praise him. Through six starts now, which by the way,
the team's won half of those. You've seen a man
who sure might not have the box score. That looks

(21:09):
insane because everybody's obviously going to focus on what's he done,
especially in the past game. Look at the and a
great example is actually last week's game. The Buccaneers, which
I have on the screen. If you're watching this live
the Buccaneers game, you look at the status, you go, oh,
shuck sucked. But if you watch that game in the
pouring rain, because remember that game rained for about forty
five minutes of the sixty was raining, pouring down rain,

(21:33):
man runs for two tuddies, Man throws to sixty five percent,
and the pouring rain then comes back home. Next week
after the Carolina Panthers, by the way, Panthers fans, good
to see you, by the way, welcome in Atherur's Panthers
fans spent the week praising the New Orleans Saints, like, ah,
that took down the Panthers.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Now we're gonna walk all over from New Orleans. Is like,
hold on, you're gonna do what now? Tyler Shucks said
you're gonna do?

Speaker 2 (21:54):
Sir, Excuse me, because Tyler Shuck said that, I'm not
afraid to run into Derek Brown's face.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Now, I don't think Derrick Brown meant to hit him
after the whistle, but Calibor and Tyler Shuck certainly used
that to their advantage. I will say, long term, please
stop running. Tyler Shuck and plays were clearly or designed
to get roughing the passer penalty or necessary roughness.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
Let's not do that intentionally very often. Please and thank you.
But you see a level of grit, determination and.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
More importantly, which I think is so important for New
Orleans period. There is a belief that you could build
off the past two games.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
There is a belief that you can take after watching
the determination of these guys who aren't household names. Like look,
Chrysal Lave has not lived up to what a lot
of people would say is the potential. I saw people
on Extra Brother Team talking about Chrystal Lave was a
loss in terms of like the New Orleans things, drafting
it right, and we've had our down moments with him
on this show. He sure came up today, val a

(22:49):
man literally two weeks ago, waste of a fourth round trade,
and now we have people across the who that nation
talking about he's.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Got that dog? Get him? You got that dog? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (23:02):
You know what, You're right because he stepped up because
this team believes in themselves, and man, that is exciting
to see players believe in each other, to fight for
each other, to show a grit that you've.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Not seen all season long. Gotta get excited about that.
And that's just an unquantifiable thing. Is why I can't
throw you dvanced analytics for it. I can't throw you
film for it. But you can see it, right. You
can watch a team and you go and they're really
playing for each other. You know you can see it when,
for example, your offensive line won't stop fall starting or

(23:35):
holding on big plays. Is Tyler Shuck getting in their
face and screaming at him? Is Tyler Shuck screaming at
wide receivers twenty five yards down the field. No, yeah,
I'm looking at you, Derek Carr.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Yeah, I see you don't think we forgot You're gonna
keep catching strays for a long time, sir.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
Keep your happy self over in California. You see a
team that believes in themselves and I love that. That
makes me freaking happy. That makes me excited.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
That's what makes me be able to come on this
podcast and say, guys, guys, look might be four and ten,
but I feel like we're tending four right now.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
I know playoffs are off the table. That's fine. Man.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
Coming out of a game like today where you see
a team fight for every yard and win, how can
you not be excited. How can you not be excited?
And how can you not be excited as well? If
you were hoping to find a quarterback who possibly that
you could build into next year, These past couple weeks
have shown you a guy that you can I still
will openly say zero issue bringing in a quarterback next year.

(24:32):
And for all those who are about to scream at me, look,
this is what you do. Until you guarantee you got
your franchise guy a long term, you do it. And
even if you have your franchise guy, you still look
if something's available. But if Tyler Shuck hasn't shown it
to you, I don't know what else he can do.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
At the moment.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
I guess the only other thing he can do is
throw two more touchdowns than he did.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
I don't know what could he really do.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
Over three hundred yards total yards tuddy, no turnovers, seventy
five percent of completion, eight and a half yards per ten.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
Last week, multiple.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
Tuddies, sixty five percent of completion, pouring rain, does have
one interception. The dude's balling right now, and I hope
he continues as a Saints fan. I hope he continues,
because that just means more New Orleans Saints success.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Uh Tista simply.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Says Carolina fan here, but big ups, y'all, y'all got
a hellified young quarterback on y'all's hands. You might have
to erase the young part there, just because, let's be honest,
the man's about to turn twenty seven next year.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
But that honestly doesn't matter because it's two full NFL
quarterback contracts. Whatever.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
Thank you for the compliment, good sir, I appreciate it,
and who that to all of y'all that have come
in The appreciate says that is why Davis said he
has the it factor exactly, and it's it's always been
that point of contention between the the analytics nerds and.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
The scouting nerds. And I'm obviously been team scouting nerd because.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
Analytics does a great job of trying to quantify everything
that happens and explain why, and I love that they
do what they do, and then scout nerds trying to
be like, look, there's just some things you can't quantify.
You gotta trust me, bro, And it's a lot tougher
to trust me bro. Still, obviously, trade man analysis is
showing you things but there are just some things that
you can't display on a spreadsheet, right, and that's just

(26:10):
the nature of humans being human.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
That's any sport, that's NHL, MLB, NBA.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
There are just some intangibles that you can't ever quantify,
but you can still see them and say, hey, you
might want to look for this. We can't purposely tell you,
you know, the exact raw numbers of what makes this true.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Were saying, look, look, you really need to watch this.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
And I find it hilarious that a lot of the throws,
specifically the throw at the NFL Combine that Tyler Shuck
got made fun of and supposedly hurt his draft stock,
we saw both Bryce Young and Tyler Shuck do it
today and both of them deserve praise for it.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
It was amazing. Both of them.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
Deserve praise for the exact same throw that Tyler Shuck
got absolutely shot on at the combine, for.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
We saw both of them employ with success today. So
shout out to both quarterbacks going off handle and throwing
from a abnormal arm angle with success.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
Those off platform throws that could be very important because
sadly every throw is not five yard dropback, beautiful, clean
pocket look at my amazing mechanics. Everybody, Oh wow, he
threw a Bugatti. Not every throw can be that. So
it's good to see those things like in today's game,
but end up showing out.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
And this is after man took a lot of hits.
That does worry me.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
And I want to be very clear, this offensive line
still needs a lot of work. I mean, Tyler Chuck
took five sacks and a lot of hits. I mean,
you can't have a guy be here, you know, six seven, eight,
ten years if he continues to get abused.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
But you still love to see the grip out of it.
You gotta love it rain, he says. Doubt it's going
to be a quarterback if it's best pick available. A
lot more positions there than just QB. Absolutely, And then
look we've actually talked about in our discord.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
If you're not in it, shout out to those who
are listening on iTunes, iHeartRadio, Google, Spotify, et cetera. In
it we have a lot of these discussions, a lot
of great names in the draft and that aren't quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
So I'm very curiously when New Orleans ends up.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
But it's you watch this game, you know, and a
big shout out to the front seven for Carolina. We
know they've got some studs, but this isn't meant to
be offensive. Like I'm not trying to insult Carolina when
I say this, because I do believe Carolina's got a
good front seven. But on the same like, in the
same breath, I'm saying that you look at who's dominating
New Orleans today and it's a lot of guys who

(28:27):
aren't studs. They might be good players. For example, DJ
wont them he's a good player. Like, he's not a
bad player in his shape. I'm not I'm not trashing him,
but is he a two sack against your team guy? No,
he's a very good player though. Like, don't get me wrong,
I love him in my rotation, but he's not that guy.
He sure has Hey look like that guy today. That's

(28:47):
an indictment on the Saints offensive line. This in tier
O line needs help really bad. And there's just no
other way to put that. And obviously, on a day
that's so positive, I hate to be a negative. But
if there's anything you saw from to day the interior
offensive line between Cesar Ruiz, you know your your backup
center now you know left guard, whether it's Rattens or

(29:08):
whoever they decide to put in that day.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
We've seen Simpkins that snaps. Interior offensive line needs massive help,
you know, and you're making a lot of guys look
like studs that aren't studs.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
Again, that is not to tear down what Carolina has,
because I really do believe they have talent, they have
good depth, but it does speak to how porous and
how problematic the offensive line has been for New Orleans.
Not to mention the penalties, because the offensive line has
just been leading this.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Team in penalties as well. It's got to be a
priority both in free agency and the draft. Got to
get some offensive line to help out your running backs.
That is Alba Kamara coming back next year. That is
Neil you know, returning.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
If that is a new guy you bring in who
the UB team might be more effective or stronger.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
Whatever that answer is, you absolutely got to chase it.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
But that's definitely one from today, Carlos says in tangibles,
showing up on time, taking criticisms, developing your craft. Yeah,
those are all things that a reason why that you know,
and we actually.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Talk about this in the discord. We're just shouted the discord.
It was adult.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
Know, almost every player has their scouting report in terms
of the film they've done, is completed by January, right,
So like when people are doing the Senior Bowl, the
NFL Combine, that's almost never got anything to do with
what can this dude do on a football field? So
what ends up happening in scouting, and I actually find
it fascinating, is you'll spend three to four months studying

(30:26):
what a person does on the field, and then you'll
spend three to four months trying to study them off
the field to find out will they fit us. That's
what the whole interview process is for. That's what all
the medical stuff is for. That's what asking them all
these stupid questions that many of you go, what's that
got to do with football?

Speaker 1 (30:42):
That's what it's about.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
You have to then engage the middle capacity of these
people and determine is this cornerback, is this quarterback? Is
this running back going to fit with what we're trying
to build? Do we believe in them? Do they have
the grit? Do they have the intangibles?

Speaker 1 (30:55):
Right? They know in February whether this guy was.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
A stud on the football field or not ter of
like traits, but do they have that extra that's so
hard to determine, And man, you saw a lot of
it today. That's why early in the year I told people, look,
I've got Kolai mckinstrey on I do not touch list.
I really believe you can build with him. I think
you're starting to see more of those plays here recently.
I still think King.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
Histrey's got a long way to grow.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
If you can see some that Quincy Riley showed up
today and a lot of key moments, some big pass breakups,
and while he did get Torch for a touchdown, let
me tell you, Quincy Riley had good coverage in that
TD pass. That's just Bryce Young freaking balling out with
one of those amazing rainbow arcs. Like I hate him,
Like what do you do when you throw a guy open?
That was just a great quarterback play. Our safety could

(31:40):
have been in a better position. Safety got held down
by the eyes of Young. Again, great quarterback play. If
you're a Carolina Panthers podcast or film studies journalists, whatever,
you really should hone in on that play because if
there's some positive take from that loss, it's stuff like
that to make you believe in that young quarterback moving forward.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
That's an amazing throw. But Riley has some great plays.
Brian Berse who and a lot of honesty is a
lot of people not believing him has showed.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
Up to date in the run game, a lot of
fourth down stops over the past six weeks. In fact,
that's something that we should really take the time to
add up, right, how many of these fourth down stops
and TFLs of New Orleans racked up over the past
let's just say since the bye week versus the first
half of the year. I mean, this team is just
playing with the level of grit and determination that we've
not seen.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
And it's just exciting. It's fun.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
I want to see more of it, right, really excited
about what we're seeing. And shots again to Tomorrio Davis
hitting over fifteen hundred career tackles, obviously most of that
being with the New Orleans Saints at this point, and
sadly with the Saints being a bad team, because look,
we can be as excited as we want to be
about how we are now, but New Orleans Saints overall
are a bad team. Good players often get overlooked, right,

(32:50):
Saints suck. Nobody's voting for Tomorrio go to Pro Bowl.
Nobody's voting to Mario All Pro right now. But Tomorrow's
playing really well. Fifteen hundred tackles.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
Man has been with New Orleans eight years, which is
absolutely insane to think about, But eight years he's been
in New Orleans. Now, the fact that he's.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
Still playing at a high level, the fact that he's
over one hundred tackles. By the way, if he didn't
know after today's game, he now has I believe, one
hundred and twenty three total tackles on the season, one
hundred and twenty three, which is second most in his
New Orleans Saints' career, second most. That's that thirty six

(33:27):
years old. Man's a freaking grandfather in football years. Shout
out to him. Lewis Redditt caught it. Yeah, I mean, look,
there's a lot of people out there who saw shuck
and believe something.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
Now. To be clear, there's still a lot to do
with Shuck. There's definitely ways that he can be better.
You know.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
One of my favorite plays today is actually him missing
a play. There's a Chris Lave touchdown on a corner
route that he missed. And he was actually on one
of the undercut routes that he connects with. Veley gets
fifteen yards and completes a I think it was a
second and fourteen, but in that same play safety had
bit down, alive has hands up, give me the ball.
It's a tuddy, so to be clear, it's not a

(34:08):
pure Tyler shuck. Praise fest man can get better too.
Gosh darn it. That's some fun football, man, some good
football today. Of If I don't want to see Tyler
shucks start eighteen more games in a row, thirty more,
five hundred games in a row at this, keep it up.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
If you do stuff like this, keep it. Want to
see more of it.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
Devin Neil, hope you get healthy, sir, come on back,
you earn more snaps. Vele, come on back, sir. Hope
you're healthy, you earn more snaps. Keep happening, Captain love
to see it. Russoon says, Panthers taking that l hard.
They better worry about their next game if they want
to wrap this out. Absolutely absolutely, And you know what,

(34:50):
I got nothing negative to say about the Panthers, like,
you know, more power to them.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
I hope they're successful. I mean I've never really viewed
the Panthers.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
As a rivalry the same way I do the Foullkins,
So I would much What I'm really saying is, I'd
much rather the Panthers represent.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
The New Orleans Saints than the Atlanta Falcons.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
Right, If we're gonna have somebody rep the NFC South,
I'm cool with it being the Panthers compared to it
being the Falcons.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
Right. Obviously I want to be New Orleans, but obviously
it's not an option. Right now, there's not an option.
We can't do anything with that. But I'm excited. Today's
a great day. I agree, JG. They is a great day.
Come from behind, twenty to seventeen win. What can you say,

(35:37):
Tyler Shuck helping leave the.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
New Orleans Saints, Tomorrio Davis helping leave the defense to
another team that doesn't score more than twenty points.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
Again, the slander this New Orleans Saints defense has gotten
from people around the league this year, as if this
defense has not been holding teams to low scoring games
all year long. Are they amazing? No? I mean, look,
the defense has got some Asian guys, But New Orleans
Saints came into this game the twelve best defense by
yards in the NFL. I mean kudos to him, man,

(36:09):
keep it going. Thank you. As we build depreciates.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
Keller Moore, feels like he really has improved as a
head coach as well, from play call to in game situations.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
I would say that we've seen the best of Keller
Moore so far.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Now, I do want to be very clear, as as
happy as I am, especially in the past two weeks,
it's not going to make me override what Keller Moore
has shown me all year long, which has been very frustrating.
But he's definitely had two good games and two tough games,
to be clear, right from a coaching perspective, taking on
a winning record Caroline Panthers team at home, who everybody

(36:45):
believes is better than you, that's.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
The hard situation. Division games are tough, right, especially after
you just had a very emotional, powerful, gritty game on
the road in the increment weather.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
You managed to string it back to back. That's good, right,
That's why you should praise Keller Moore. That's why you
should praise Brandon Staley. Because again I said it earlier,
and I know it's dirty. It feels gross to say it.
In twenty twenty five. But your New Orleans.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
Saints, you're on a wind streak. Ladies and gentlemen to
in a row.

Speaker 2 (37:18):
And it might not sound like a lot, but damn
it again when you start off one and eight. I'm
celebrating two game win streaks around here, and if you
don't like it, you can just take yourself over somewhere else.
Two games is a win streak. Baby, I'm gonna celebrate
after this year. I'm gonna celebrate as if we'd won
eight in row first, Princess Kellimore got everybody right where he.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Won't, y'all.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
I wouldn't say that because again, I think everybody has
a very very fair amount of skepticism towards Kella Moore.
But at the same time, we've been calling out exactly
what Kellimore has been doing all year long. I mean,
Kella Moore has very clearly implemented his system from the jump,
and he's been rotating players in to see do you
fit my system? If not, get out of here. Brandon
Cook's gone or she Now we got Chris Lave.

Speaker 1 (38:02):
We don't need it. We'll find a We'll find a
start that we're looking for, finding next that we're looking
for multiple offensive lineman, rotate, get them out right. Trevor
Penning gone, Spencer Ratler.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
Clearly, I gave you time, as I'm speaking as if
I'm Keller Moore gave you time now I'm looking for
moving on out right. And that's frustrated because we're just
sitting here like, well, you've got talented people. Why don't
you just build your offense around the talent. Keller Moore says, Nah,
I ain't building around nothing. You do what I need
to do, or you get out all right, cool, whatever

(38:32):
you say, boss, as long as we start winning football games.
As long as we start winning football games two in
a row. So right now, he's got a little bit leeway.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
I will say this, three games left, All three of
the games are winnable because all three of those games
are basically against teams who are in similar positions in
New Orleans, New York Jets, well, other New York Jets.
But yeah, they're three and ten, right, they're the New
York Jets. They are what they are, Atlanta Falcons.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
You know, let's just do this one. You got the Titans,
you got the Jets, and the Falcons. Falcons, well, they're
a little bit bitter in New Orleans in terms of
win loss. Okay, but they're right there with us.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
They got one game, they got one game, right, you
go look over the New York Jets.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
Yeah, three and eleven not exactly mind blowing. You got
Tessey Titans, who are currently maybe the worst team in
the NFL at two and eleven.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
So could the New Orleans says win two of them? Sure?
One of them? Sure?

Speaker 2 (39:40):
Yeah, Now, fresh Princess, I just feel like, why would
Kellimore put his best material out there? He's just testing
strongly disagree on that. I don't believe he's holding back
his material. I believe he's trying to see who fits
his material. That's two very different things. He's not holding
back anything.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
How do I know that.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
I'll talk to the coaching staff. That's just my opinion.
Everybody can feel free disagree, But yeah, I don't think
he's who any thing back. But I think he's very
much in a you either fit what we're.

Speaker 1 (40:08):
Doing or you don't. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. Right,
that's fine.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
I don't like it because obviously I want to win
every game, but I understand it. It requires patience, which
is not something Saints fans are notorious for or any
professional football fan.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
To be honest, we're not not really well known for that.
That is what it is.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
So Pigianta and Saley keeping the defense focused. Look, I
think the defense is playing better than they should be
giving who is their starting group and which speaks to
those intangils we just talked about, right, It speaks to
the grit determination, the cohesion you have via communication, things
that just aren't trackable, like, for example, there's no advanced

(40:51):
analytic that speaks to who are the best linebackers in
the safeties in terms of on field communication. Now that's
a real thing. Anybody ever played football nos on field
it ain't just the cornerback screaming plays right. It's everybody
make sure you're in position. It's the leaders on defense.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
You don't nobody tracks that and nobody tracks how effective
it is. It's like nobody tracks who's the best center
when it comes to diagnosing coverages, because that's a little
bit too difficult for analytics to get.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
But you can get it with trape based analysis. You
can get it with the eyeball test. Shout out to
this defense for playing hard. Heck yeah, shout out to
this defense for having some young guys stepping up, like
Quincy Riley.

Speaker 1 (41:34):
Like Quincy Rally's not had the best times all.

Speaker 2 (41:36):
Year, but he had a good game today, even with
him giving up that Tuddy had a good game today.
Sanker Man, Sankers has had some real flashes this year.
He had a very solid game today. That's where shouting
out Howden. I think he had a solid game to day.
This is not the starting back end the New Orleans
Saints thought they would be using, but it is what
they've got. And again it held a team that, in

(41:56):
my opinion, has got a lot of talent on offense.
Tous and twenty points. I think they've got a lot
of talent on offense. I'd love to have some of
their talent in New Orleans. Shout out to some of
these young guys. Chase Young is still a young guy.
I mean, Chase Young's kind of like the epitome of
you know, the a great example, right of a guy
a lot of people gave up on. He's trying to

(42:19):
show out since he's came back. I mean the fact
that Chase Young now has six sacks right now, I
get it. You need to be on the field, you
need to be healthy. All those things are true. But
you know what, that's also true for guys like freaking
Marcus Davenport. And when he was on the field, he's
still he would flash, but he wasn't consistent at least
with Chase Young, who's only played this is his ninth game,
has six sacks sixty seven percent of his games. He

(42:41):
gets a sack. Not to mention the pressures he's getting
by the way, which is he leads the team in pressures.

Speaker 1 (42:47):
A guy a lot of people giving up on playing
with a lot of determination. Grid.

Speaker 2 (42:52):
You could see the emotion after that sack today, He's
not giving up. He's playing because he believes. And that
excites me. That excites me.

Speaker 1 (43:03):
Aaron says, I'll take these wins over draft orders.

Speaker 2 (43:06):
Shuck is literally showing us when he's capa love without
more weapons, our team is getting better.

Speaker 1 (43:10):
That is a big point, all right.

Speaker 2 (43:12):
And I said earlier in the show that I wasn't
going to tiptoe and puts it around it. I believe
stuff like this week and last week's show why Tyler
Shuck has the better chance of being the future of
the quarterback of the New Orleans Saints than Spencer Ratler
does because to your point, right, look at look at
this offense, right, you had three hundred yards of offense
just through Tyler Shuck, but a lot of it came

(43:33):
through Valle who had sixty nine of them. Estimate thirty
nine of them estimate is what running back number four
on our depth chart, five on our depth chart. If
you're including injuries. Damn Kevin Austen, really right, that's thirty
three of them, Jack Stole, right, Mason Tipton. These are
all guys who weren't getting nothing two three months ago.

(43:53):
He's spreading the ball around. You had what today you had?
What's seven? No, you had eight different receivers touched the
ball to day. Spread the wealth. You had six different
guys try to rush the ball today. Spread the wealth.
That's good football, especially when you're trying to overcome past problems.

Speaker 1 (44:12):
That's good football.

Speaker 2 (44:15):
And like Dupre says in the chat, the main thing
that's changed from Tyler Shuck is the more reps he's gotten,
the better his pocket poise and pocket awareness has gotten.
The better he's gotten in the scramble drill, which used
to be something that Tyler was not as good as
Spencer Ratler in beginning of the year preseason of the year,
Spencer Rattler, especially because of the last year, was better
than the scramble drill the NFL level. Well, Tyler Shuck's saying, hey,

(44:38):
I can grow too, and I hope both of them
continue to grow because iron sharpens iron man.

Speaker 1 (44:43):
Tyler Shuck is really showing why he deserves to be
the starter right now, and I hope he continues, especially
these last three weeks.

Speaker 2 (44:51):
Man, I'm going to treat these last three weeks, and
just for those who are regulars on the show, number one,
thank you. For those who are new here, hit the
follow button. Glad you're here. Be treating the next three weeks. Yes,
as if this team is oh to oh, That's how
I'll be judging them. How do they finish this year?
So I'm gonna look at them as a team that
is now playing for pride, but also a team playing

(45:12):
to show what they are next year. I eithern win
a majority of the remaining games, which is easy, win
two of the three against teams that have a combined
win record of what I think combined, they have ten
games between them, ten wins amongst these three teams combined,
Let's see if they can win at least two of
these games.

Speaker 1 (45:31):
You've had two great weeks. You arguably had since the
bye week, with the exception of the Atlanta game, you
have from really good play. You just swept the Carolina Panthers.
It's exciting.

Speaker 2 (45:42):
Back to back weeks taking down the division leader. Now
the division leaders debatable with Carolina today, but because it's
not like Tampa just ceased to exist. But this was
Carolina's game to be that so I'm counting it. But
either way, what a fun day it has been. What
a fun day, y'all. And also again, shut up, shut out,

(46:08):
Charlie Smith. We found some kicking. I was a little
harsh on you last week, Charli.

Speaker 1 (46:14):
I was.

Speaker 2 (46:15):
I was still filling the the Blake Groupie fe feels,
so I got on to you a little bit Charlie
last week because of the rain.

Speaker 1 (46:23):
Thank you, sir. This is my apology.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
I was a little harsh last week, but I even
acknowledged any episode. I was a love that was Blake
Groupi's fault. I was a little bit in my feels.
Thank you, sir, And truly, I hope you get free
pints all week. Long down in New Orleans really do yeah,
who that fans?

Speaker 1 (46:46):
I appreciate y'all so much for one enjoying this podcast
through what has been a wild season, and I appreciate
y'all being who that's lifelong.

Speaker 2 (46:54):
Charles says twenty for twenty. Appreciate you a feeling hyped
by the team right now. I hope we hit in
the draft next year. I'm also hoping was a sneaky
pickup for more. Who do you want in the draft? Well,
it's a great question. We actually spent a lot of
time talking about the draft here recently in the discord,
and my focus is and I know y'all gonna hate
it because it's going to feel like we're just revisiting
the Dentis Allen drafts, But I really am looking at

(47:16):
a lot of the edge guys in the top ten.
If New Orleans stays in the top ten, I think
some real talent there. I think the real question is
where do they end up drafting and who truly is
available right because I feel like New Orleans has a
lot of things that they could go after that they
need right. There's not just one guy, but like Ruben

(47:37):
Bain Junior, I like Reuben Bin. Right again, where are
we drafting is the big question? But I hate to
be that guy as goes like defensive end. But truly
I think that the front seven needs more and that
could be several things. I mean, the secondary can certainly
use some love. And at the same time, don't be
surprised if offensive line creeps back into our top fifty picks, y'all,

(47:59):
just you know, because.

Speaker 1 (48:01):
They need it. They need it.

Speaker 2 (48:04):
Sometimes it's not the pretty pick you need. Sometimes you
don't need the pretty one. That's okay, But we are
gonna talk about that more and more of the closer
we get to the draft.

Speaker 1 (48:14):
Right. I don't think there's any wrong answers.

Speaker 2 (48:16):
I will say this, I am one hundred percent okay
though losing in on the Mendoza sweepstakes. I will say
that I'm one hundred percent okay losing out on the
Mendoza sweepsticks. We'll see how it ends up looking though,
But I love the question, Charles, and obviously as we
close to THEE will be looking more and more at that.
But yeah, I would say right now if you told

(48:38):
me based on where the Saints are drafting at the moment,
so the time of the recording this podcast of the
New Orleans Saints currently have the number seven pick in
the NFL Draft. As of today, they have number seven.
They keep in mind, if they win the next three games,
they're probably be drafting like thirteenth, So go ahead be upset.

Speaker 1 (48:56):
They very well.

Speaker 2 (48:57):
If they decide to run the table, they're gonna put
themself right in the middle of the NFL Draft. Right now,
they're pick seven at pick seven, Like one of those
names just mentioned is there. Sure really is going to
depend on where we end up looking, and the next
couple weeks are gonna give us a better picture of
who those people could possibly be. So you want more

(49:18):
push on the d line, especially some push from the
nose tackle. I think it's completely fair platpus. The only
thing I would say is you don't draft. You don't
draft a one tech or a zero tech in the
first round, not unless you think you've got Vita Vea,
And even then it's a who do I draft him?

Speaker 1 (49:34):
Top ten? Right? A zero one? You don't draft first
round unless you just really believe in the guy.

Speaker 2 (49:42):
And as a reminder, Vita Vea is probably the best
interior nose tackle since Vince Wilfork and he was drafted
twelfth overall, right, and Vitavea is probably the best nose
not not three tech.

Speaker 1 (49:57):
Again, three tech is slightly different position in terms of
defensive tackle, but specifically knows Vidavea is probably the best
one since Vince Well for it over the past two decades.
And he was drafted twelfth.

Speaker 2 (50:08):
So maybe if you believe there's a Vita Vea in
this draft, you think about it. Because I do agree
with what you're saying, because if if New Orleans had
prime Vitavea, that'd be a very very nasty defensive line, right.
Because Vitavea is turning. I think he turns thirty one
in like two months in February. So sure, but I

(50:29):
don't think that players in this draft. We'll see.

Speaker 1 (50:32):
We'll see TJ says Dector Lawrence over Vea. I mean,
like we can have that debate, I guess.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
But Vitavea has got better consistency over a longer period
like Sexy DEXI is a very good player, don't get
me wrong.

Speaker 1 (50:56):
I mean, he's made multiple Pro Bowls, but I think
he had a better high Vita Vea's had better longevity.
I mean again, we can. You can't really knock either guy.

Speaker 2 (51:08):
I think if you told me I could have either
one of them, I'd be like, absolutely. I leaned toward
Vea more for the same reason that I leaned towards
Cameron Jordan over JJ Watt, Like JJ Watt had a
much higher mountain, but Cameron Jordan's got a mountain range.
I'm I'm maybe that's a flaw in my style. I

(51:29):
like the guy who lasts ten twelve years versus the
guy who spikes and has like three great years but
doesn't consistently do great right, Like this year, he's not
having a great year. That being Sexy Dexi, he's just
not right. But he's coming off three great years. His
first three years in the league were not great. Vita

(51:51):
Vea's first three years in the league, You're like, oh,
you knew exactly who he was the moment he stept
in the field.

Speaker 1 (51:55):
Sexy Dexi definitely has had that.

Speaker 2 (51:57):
I just think he's had a higher peak, and even
he was after seventeenth overall, So it'll be very interesting
to see where that ends up being draft wise. But
this episode is running along, so just go ahead and
wrap it. Do appreciate y'all supporting the channel. Congratulations who
that's on a big w.

Speaker 1 (52:10):
I had a great time.

Speaker 2 (52:12):
Hellodi Nada another great name by the way, again pick
your favorite. My point was you don't take those guys
unless you believe their studs. And even then you're drafting
them in the middle of the first round. You're not
drafting them top ten. So yeah, not as another great one,
two time all pro?

Speaker 1 (52:28):
What another? What are the big stud guy? Yeah? Another
another great guy? All right, wrapping it up though, who that.
I appreciate y'all. Love y'all join the discord if you
haven't already, If you're listening to us, thank you so
much for supporting this channel.
